  1. Hello and welcome to the McDonald Road

  2. 7th Day Adventist Church. I'm so glad

  3. that you have chosen to worship with us

  4. today and I hope that the worship is

  5. meaningful and brings you closer to

  6. Jesus as you sing with us and study the

  7. Bible with us. God bless each one of

  8. you. So glad you're here. Happy Sabbath,

  9. Jesus.

  10. Adventist education is uh

  11. it's a very important part of life in

  12. the 7th Day Adventist Church. The very

  13. first Adventist school was opened up in

  14. Bucksbridge, New York in 1853.

  15. Since then, there are schools in almost

  16. 150 countries around the world. There

  17. are 85,000 teachers currently teaching

  18. in 7th Day Adventist schools around the

  19. world. There are 1.5 million students in

  20. our 7th Day Adventist schools around the

  21. world. And there are 7,500

  22. schools that are currently running right

  23. now in the 7th Day Adventist Church. I

  24. think educating our children and

  25. pointing them to Jesus is one of the

  26. most important things we can do here on

  27. this earth. And I'm grateful for the

  28. emphasis and the focus of the 7th Day

  29. Adventist Church on teaching our kids

  30. about Jesus. Uh last night I posted on

  31. our church Facebook page that we were

  32. going to be looking at at education and

  33. learning today. And I asked people, I

  34. said, "Tell me where you went to school

  35. if you went to a 7th Adventist school."

  36. And if if you have time this afternoon,

  37. you can look on there, just comment. I

  38. got 75 or 100 comments or something with

  39. people telling all the different schools

  40. they went to. Um some in different

  41. countries uh that they attended and went

  42. to and um really neat to to I've been to

  43. many different schools around the world

  44. and seen how they do. I've taught in

  45. schools around the world and it's been

  46. such a blessing to be able to see uh our

  47. organized church have an emphasis on

  48. teaching our kids about Jesus. I went to

  49. Escandido Adventist Academy in Southern

  50. California. Anybody ever heard of

  51. Escandido Adventist Academy? Oh wow.

  52. More than the other other services. Uh

  53. Escanido. I went 11 years to Escanido

  54. Adventist Academy and uh loved my time

  55. there. By the way, I brag to my kids

  56. because I think our school had the best

  57. field trips out of any school in the

  58. world because we got to go on like whale

  59. watching trips. We got to do vespers at

  60. the beach. We did uh water ski trips to

  61. Lake Havsu Havsu, snow ski trips to

  62. Mammoth. We did we went to Disneyland

  63. all the time, Knottberry Farms,

  64. SeaWorld. I'm bragging now. I should

  65. stop. But it was fantastic. It was it

  66. was so many different cool things. And

  67. uh I I had so many different

  68. opportunities come my way because I went

  69. to a 7th Avenue school. This if I can

  70. get this this next picture up.

  71. There we go. This is uh 18-year-old

  72. Pastor Jamie before he was Pastor Jamie.

  73. I was a junior at Escandido Adventist

  74. Academy in this photo and uh had already

  75. gone through a whole lot of education

  76. there at the academy. Had fantastic

  77. teachers. Uh, in fact, one of my

  78. teachers, one of my teachers that would

  79. have been during this year is currently

  80. the principal of at Madison Academy,

  81. Chris Fuentes. U, a mentor of mine. I

  82. just think so highly of her and grateful

  83. for her, uh, mentorship. But as a as an

  84. 18-year-old, uh, I was able to go and

  85. and participate in a prayer conference

  86. in the Pacific Northwest with a whole

  87. bunch of schools in the in the Pacific

  88. Northwest getting together for a prayer

  89. conference. Um, had a huge impact on my

  90. life. I came back down to Escandido and

  91. organized one. when I was the religious

  92. vice president for out there we call it

  93. the ASB here we call it the essay

  94. student association out there it's

  95. associated student body and I organized

  96. a prayer conference with four

  97. differentmies there in Southern

  98. California then my school sent myself

  99. and several other people down to

  100. Southwestern Adventist University in

  101. Texas as they had a unionwide youth

  102. prayer conference there and uh it was

  103. through this opportunity that as part of

  104. the Sabbath outreach

  105. as a 18-year-old boy I was asked to

  106. preach for the very first time. And my

  107. grandfather happened to be a retired

  108. pastor in the area. And as often happens

  109. with retired pastors, once they retire,

  110. the conference will often ask them to

  111. step in if there's a church that doesn't

  112. have a pastor. Um, and they'll ask them

  113. to pastor that church while they're

  114. looking for another pastor to fill them.

  115. So my granddad in his retirement

  116. pastored like 12 churches. Um, and so he

  117. happened to be pastoring the Joshua 7th

  118. Adventist Church just outside of King,

  119. Texas. And so my very first sermon that

  120. I ever preached was as an 18-year-old

  121. kid, as a student at Escanido Adventist

  122. Academy in Joshua, Texas on a school

  123. trip uh working with a bunch of other

  124. schools in the uh in this I think it's

  125. the Southwestern Union there at South uh

  126. Southwestern Adventist University. And

  127. um all these years later, I'm still

  128. preaching. And so those opportunities

  129. that I had as a student really helped

  130. mold and shape my life. and even the

  131. teachers that I had uh really helped

  132. mold and shape my life and point me

  133. towards Jesus. And uh I'm so grateful

  134. for the education that I got there at

  135. Eskanito Adventist Academy all those

  136. years ago. As humans, we've been

  137. learning and being educated since the

  138. very very beginning.

  139. At the beginning, Adam and Eve had to

  140. learn a whole lot. If you have your

  141. Bibles, uh turn with me to Genesis 2.

  142. Let

  143. me see if I can get my clicker work. Am

  144. I maybe short on batteries?

  145. Let's see here.

  146. I think this one's I think this one's

  147. toast. Okay, there we go. Thank you.

  148. Genesis 2:15. It says, "Then the Lord

    Genesis 2:15

  149. God took the man and put him in the

  150. Garden of Eden to tend it and to keep

  151. it." How did man know how to tend and

  152. keep the garden? Somebody had to teach

  153. him. We learn throughout our whole

  154. lives. We spend our lives learning. We

  155. learn how to crawl first of all, which

  156. is kind of terrifying for parents

  157. because when they can't crawl, you put

  158. them down and they stay there. And then

  159. when they learn how to crawl, you put

  160. them down and you turn around and you

  161. look and they're gone. They're moving.

  162. And then they had they learn how to

  163. walk, but walking is a little bit

  164. difficult to learn as well. And there's

  165. all kinds of things we learn to do as

  166. humans. A lot of the things we learn how

  167. to do are fun, like riding a bicycle.

  168. Likely when you were a kid, you saw

  169. somebody ride a bicycle and you're like,

  170. "That looks pretty fun." And then you

  171. got on the bicycle and you're like,

  172. "This is a little dangerous." And maybe

  173. you fell over on that bicycle and hurt

  174. yourself, but you still saw how much fun

  175. you saw the fun potential with people

  176. who were riding bikes. You're like, "I'm

  177. going to keep at it. I'm going to keep

  178. learning how to do this." And then you

  179. learned how to ride a bike and had a lot

  180. of fun with it. We like learning. Now,

  181. learning can be a little stressful

  182. sometimes because if there's a test or

  183. an exam or a quiz or something like

  184. that, you've got some pressure to learn.

  185. So, you're like, "Okay, I've heard I've

  186. heard this from many many students. When

  187. am I ever going to use this?" How many

  188. of you honestly ever said that? Mhm. We

  189. all have like question like when am I

  190. ever going to use this? But we learn

  191. stuff and sometimes sometimes we pick up

  192. and see the the value of it later on.

  193. And so uh but but we continually learn,

  194. we've been learning still uh our whole

  195. lives. They learned about the garden of

  196. Eden, how to tend it and keep it.

  197. Probably learned from angels and Jesus,

  198. which is pretty cool. Genesis 2:18 it

    Genesis 2:18

  199. says, "And the Lord God said, 'It is not

  200. good that man should be alone. I will

  201. make him a helper comparable to him and

  202. learning continued." One of my favorite

  203. authors says this, "Marriage is a school

  204. from which you will never graduate."

  205. That is a true statement. No matter how

  206. long you've been married, you are still

  207. learning about your spouse. You will for

  208. the rest of your life. And Adam and Eve

  209. then continued to learn about each other

  210. and uh and God and the whole situation

  211. there in the Garden of Eden. They were

  212. continually learning.

  213. They learned about all the animals. In

  214. fact, they got to name some of them.

  215. Picture in your mind God bringing the

  216. animals one by one. Adam, what are you

  217. going to call this one? We're going to

  218. go donkey on this one. All right. Well,

  219. what's the name? Well, we'll call this

  220. one a horse. A little bigger. And he got

  221. to he got to name all this stuff. They

  222. were continually learning about their

  223. surroundings and God was teaching them.

  224. Now we see schools throughout scripture

  225. as well. We see schools in Bethl. We see

  226. schools in Jericho, Rama, Gilgal and in

  227. other areas. Paul uh and usually an

  228. unknown fact about Paul. Paul was a

  229. teacher as well in a school in the

  230. school of Tyrannis in Acts chapter 19 9

    Acts 19 chapter mention

  231. and 10. He taught for two years in this

  232. school.

  233. We see in the schools of the prophets

  234. several times refer to musicians which

  235. which insinuates that part of their

  236. religious education also involve worship

  237. and learning music. There's in

  238. association with these schools several

  239. different instruments are are talked

  240. about and um teaching music is something

  241. that our schools still do which I'm

  242. grateful for. A couple times a year

  243. you'll hear College Academy students

  244. come here and fill our stage and fill

  245. our sanctuary with beautiful worshipful

  246. music. I'm so glad that our schools

  247. still teach music just like they did in

  248. the Old Testament schools of the

  249. prophets. They were especially taught

  250. about God and God's love for them and

  251. God's plans for them and how to live a

  252. godly life similar to what our schools

  253. do today.

  254. I want you to take a look in the Bible

  255. with me today. 2 Kings chapter 6. Turn

    2 Kings 6 chapter mention

  256. with me in your Bibles to Second Kings

    2 Kings 6 chapter mention

  257. chapter 6. There's a story about a

  258. school here in the Bible that we're

  259. going to look at today briefly. 2 Kings

    2 Kings 6 chapter mention

  260. chapter 6. And the teacher in this

  261. school was none other than Elisha the

  262. prophet.

  263. I've had a lot of amazing teachers in my

  264. life as a student. But if I think if I

  265. could choose and Elisha the prophet was

  266. the possible teacher I could jump into

  267. his class, I'm probably going to go for

  268. Elisha's class. How cool. He's one of my

  269. heroes in the Bible. He and Elijah, two

  270. of some of my favorites. Wouldn't it be

  271. incredible to have Elisha be your

  272. teacher?

  273. >> And so we see this verse one of chapter

  274. 6 in 2 Kings. It says, "And the sons of

  275. the prophets said to Elijah, see now the

  276. place where we dwelt with you is too

  277. small for us. This school is growing.

  278. It's tight. It's squeezed. While they're

  279. in there listening to Elisha, it's just

  280. wallto-wall students. Maybe so much that

  281. some of them are sitting outside the

  282. windows listening in. And that happens

  283. sometimes when you don't have enough

  284. room. This school was growing. God was

  285. blessing this school. People were

  286. learning about God here. And the

  287. students themselves come to Elisha their

  288. teacher and said, "The place where we

  289. dwell is too small for us. Please let us

  290. go to the Jordan and let every man take

  291. a beam from there and let us make there

  292. a place where we may dwell." This is a

  293. grassroots student-led project, a

  294. building project to go out to fell the

  295. lumber, bring it back up, and build a

  296. bigger school. These are some motivated

  297. students and Elisha likes likes the the

  298. idea and he says go ahead go for it. In

  299. verse three one of them says would you

  300. please come with us and help us with

  301. this project and this teacher is a very

  302. involved teacher Elisha and he's like

  303. yeah I'll come with you I'll help you

  304. with the project. So students and

  305. teacher all head down to the Jordan

  306. River. Now these are students not

  307. lumberjacks. So they don't have all the

  308. saws and hatchets and and axes and

  309. everything. So they've got to find some

  310. to work on this project.

  311. So, they've got to borrow something.

  312. When you borrow something from somebody,

  313. there's a pretty heavy weight of

  314. responsibility to take good care of this

  315. stuff, right? If you've ever borrowed

  316. something from somebody, you take a

  317. little extra good care of it because

  318. it's not yours. And you want to return

  319. it back to them in good shape. And if

  320. you've ever lent something to somebody,

  321. you want it back in good shape, don't

  322. you? So, there's there's this this

  323. well-known responsibility. You borrow

  324. something, you take good care of it, and

  325. bring it back to them in good shape.

  326. Well, they they started looking for

  327. tools. There was one specific young man

  328. who didn't have any tools, no axe or

  329. anything. And and he was he was a

  330. resourceful guy and knew somebody that

  331. had one.

  332. So, the Bible tells us that he borrowed

  333. an axe. Now, I don't know, it doesn't

  334. say if he made any promises. I promise

  335. I'll bring it back in good shape, but he

  336. knew the rule. You bring it back in good

  337. shape.

  338. So, he's got a borrowed axe. I'm sure

  339. several others did as well. and they're

  340. out there working on this building

  341. project to expand their growing school.

  342. So Elisha goes with them. They came down

  343. to the Jordan and they cut down the

  344. trees. Verse 5, but as one was cutting

  345. down a tree, the iron axe head fell into

  346. the water and he cried out and said,

  347. "Alas, master, for it was borrowed." How

  348. many of you have ever cut down a tree

  349. with an axe before? Anybody? Couple of

  350. you. Okay. It's hard work, isn't it?

  351. You're swinging that axe and you've got

  352. to take you have an angle coming up and

  353. you have an angle coming down to get the

  354. big chip out. You got to work at it and

  355. it's hard. And if it's a big tree,

  356. you're working really hard, breaking a

  357. sweat, muscles, stretching. You're going

  358. going after this tree. It's hard work

  359. and you take big swings so you get big

  360. results, right? Well, in mid swing with

  361. this young man, there's mid swing. He

  362. takes a big swing with this axe towards

  363. the tree and he's been used to feeling

  364. that impact of the axe on the tree. But

  365. on this swing,

  366. in the middle of the swing, the axe

  367. becomes way too light.

  368. And he feels as the axe head goes flying

  369. off the handle into the Jordan River

  370. with a big splash into the muddy water,

  371. who knows how deep.

  372. Doesn't feel that impact,

  373. realizes what's just happened, and he

  374. gets that feeling in the pit of his

  375. stomach. Oh no.

  376. Oh no, that's not my axe.

  377. He says, "Alas, master."

  378. Calling to Elisha, he says, "It was a

  379. borrowed axe."

  380. I picture in my mind all the other

  381. students coming around and looking over

  382. at the at the edge of the river and kind

  383. of just everybody feeling bad for this

  384. guy

  385. and the pickle that he's in now.

  386. But the teacher, the teacher hasn't

  387. doesn't see things the same way the

  388. student does here.

  389. And the teacher Elisha,

  390. he asks him, "Hey, where where did that

  391. axe head fall?" And he he points right

  392. right around over there.

  393. Fell down. Fell just right. I took a big

  394. swing. It slid way out right about out

  395. there.

  396. So Elisha does something unique. says he

  397. cut off a stick and threw it in there.

  398. What What did he cut it off cut off that

  399. stick with? He probably had an axe. We

  400. don't really think of guys like Elisha

  401. out there swinging an axe and doing a

  402. building project, do we? Yet, he was

  403. there. He was chipping in and working.

  404. He cuts off this stick, walks over to

  405. where they're at. All the students are

  406. there. This this young man is there. And

  407. he looks right where he pointed. And the

  408. Bible tells us he took this stick and

  409. just tossed it right out to where the

  410. axe head had gone down in the water.

  411. Wonder what the boys were thinking when

  412. he did this. What is Elisha doing here?

  413. Why is he throwing a stick in the water?

  414. What's that going to do? How is that

  415. going to help anything?

  416. Says he cut off the stick and threw it

  417. in there. The next words in this verse

  418. have all the boys's attention. It says,

  419. "And he made the iron float." Who made

  420. the iron float?

  421. >> God did. He used his messenger, his

  422. teacher there to do it. But while all

  423. the boys are there and everybody

  424. realizes this tough situation for this

  425. kid, he throws the stick in there. I'm

  426. sure he asked for God's help because it

  427. wasn't through him. It was through God

  428. that did this. And all of a sudden, it

  429. says the iron axe head floated to the

  430. top. Now, you've all been in science

  431. class, right? You know that iron doesn't

  432. float. It's too heavy. And yet, here

  433. these boys see this iron axe head come

  434. straight up to the top of the water. And

  435. it's just it's just floating there right

  436. there. What do you think the boy's faces

  437. looked like when they saw that?

  438. Nobody moves. It's just floating there.

  439. The Bible tells us here, it says, it

  440. says, "Therefore, he said, Elisha, pick

  441. it up for yourself." He had to tell the

  442. kid to pick it up. The kids just sitting

  443. there staring at it. Everybody's just

  444. sitting there staring. This is an

  445. absolute miracle.

  446. There it is. He says, "Go ahead, pick it

  447. up." So, he goes out to where it is. He

  448. grabs the axe head, fixes the axe,

  449. and imagine the teaching moment that

  450. Elisha has here with all these boys on

  451. the edge of the Jordan River.

  452. a reminder

  453. that God cares about every aspect of our

  454. lives. Even the small stuff of a

  455. borrowed axe head, God cared enough

  456. about that to help him out in this

  457. situation.

  458. It wasn't even a big huge David and

  459. Goliath type of a of a thing where the

  460. whole the whole nation's going, you

  461. know, the in in danger. It was just this

  462. kid with a borrowed axe. And yet there

  463. on the banks of the Jordan River, Elisha

  464. had the opportunity to remind these kids

  465. that you know what? God cares about

  466. every aspect of your life.

  467. >> He's close by. He hears us when we pray.

  468. So many opportunities for Elisha to

  469. share about God there on the edge of the

  470. river.

  471. Continually learning. These kids were

  472. learners and continued to learn about

  473. God as they were in those schools. we

  474. continue to learn about God as we uh as

  475. we continue to open up God's word. Um I

  476. was I was I picked up on this when Elder

  477. Vanzel was was talking just a moment ago

  478. when he was reading. He said, "I I

  479. noticed something new in the Bible."

  480. He's a very knowledgeable man in his

  481. Bible. He was ministerial director in

  482. the in the Kentucky Tennessee

  483. conference, a pastor for many, many

  484. years, degrees, etc. And I noticed that

  485. he said, "I I learned something new

  486. about God today in Sabbath school." And

  487. I was like, that's what's so cool about

  488. learning about God. There's no point in

  489. our lives where we're like, I know

  490. everything there is to know about God.

  491. There is inspiration today and

  492. inspiration tomorrow as well. We

  493. continue to learn about God and his love

  494. for us and his plans for us in life.

  495. This always makes me think about heaven.

  496. What's heaven going to be like? Are we

  497. going to continue to learn about things

  498. in heaven or will we just miraculously

  499. know everything? That wouldn't be very

  500. much fun, would it? I think we'll

  501. continue to learn. In this book,

  502. Education, page 301, the author says

  503. this, "Heaven is a school." Now, time

  504. out for just a second. Some of you that

  505. are in school might right now might

  506. think, "Oh, man. Tests and school and

  507. stuff." No, no. This is getting and that

  508. stuff's important, but it's going to be

  509. all stuff that you enjoy studying.

  510. You're going to see the value of it as

  511. you're studying it. Right now, when

  512. you're in school, you see the value a

  513. little bit later on when you're

  514. studying. Heaven is a school. She says

  515. its field of study the universe its

  516. teacher the infinite one. A branch of

  517. this school was established in Eden and

  518. the plan of redemption accomplished.

  519. Education will again be taken up in the

  520. Eden school.

  521. We're going to continue to learn stuff

  522. and I think it's going to blow our mind

  523. the things that we'll learn in heaven.

  524. I've I've heard people say, "Well, what

  525. are we actually going to do in heaven?"

  526. as if we're going to be bored in heaven.

  527. As if we're just going to be looking

  528. around like, "All right, we're here now.

  529. Now what?" There is no chance that you

  530. will be bored in heaven. I guarantee

  531. that. Heaven is going to be a place of

  532. wows where you look around, you're like,

  533. "Wow, that's incredible." And you look

  534. over here, you're like, "Wow, look at

  535. that." It's going to blow your mind the

  536. different things that you learn because

  537. it blows my mind now the things seeing

  538. the things that God created.

  539. And then I read verses like 1

    1 Corinthians 2:9

  540. Corinthians 2:9. It says, "But as it is

  541. written, eye has not seen or ear heard

  542. or have entered into the heart of man

  543. the things which God has prepared for

  544. those that love him."

  545. >> Amen.

  546. >> I've got a pretty good imagination. And

  547. I've thought about this many times. What

  548. is heaven going to be like? What are we

  549. going to experience in heaven?

  550. What's it going to be like there?

  551. I've got an idea. This is just one

  552. aspect of one small idea of what I think

  553. heaven might be like. And it's it comes

  554. in part from the story of Balam and the

  555. donkey. A weird story in the Bible. Very

  556. unique, kind of one of its one of a kind

  557. in the Bible. And Balam was riding a

  558. donkey. This is in Numbers 22.

  559. Balam is riding a donkey.

  560. And the donkey stops three times to

  561. really help him avoid some punishment.

  562. Three times he takes his staff and he

  563. beats this donkey.

  564. Just whales on this donkey.

  565. And in Numbers 228,

  566. it says this. Then the Lord opened the

  567. donkey's mouth. Here's what it does not

  568. say. It does not say that God spoke

  569. through the donkey.

  570. It says God opened the donkey's mouth so

  571. that the donkey could speak first

  572. person.

  573. What does a donkey have on his mind?

  574. A lot in this story.

  575. The Lord opened the donkey's mouth and

  576. she said to Balam, "What have I done to

  577. you that you have beaten me these three

  578. times?"

  579. Can you imagine if you were just walking

  580. by when this happened and you're walking

  581. by and you're like, "Did that donkey

  582. just talk?

  583. The donkey opens its mouth and said,

  584. "Why have you beaten me these three

  585. times?" And some of the most bizarre

  586. words in the Bible. Balam answered the

  587. donkey.

  588. "You have made a fool of me." He says,

  589. "If I had a sword in my hand, I would

  590. kill you right now."

  591. Bam needs to calm down. Mercy.

  592. He's threatening this donkey.

  593. Verse 30. But the donkey said to Balam,

  594. "Am I not the donkey you have ridden all

  595. your life until today? Have I ever

  596. treated you this way before?" "No," he

  597. replied.

  598. This is a whole conversation in the

  599. Bible between a guy and his donkey.

  600. And it's not God speaking through the

  601. donkey, it's the donkey talking. The

  602. donkey's got an opinion. Donkey's a

  603. little chapped about getting hit so many

  604. times.

  605. I think

  606. that when we get to heaven,

  607. if you're curious about

  608. what it's like to be a blue whale,

  609. maybe you can have a conversation with

  610. that blue whale and it'll tell you.

  611. I had a little bit of uh of fun this

  612. week looking at my imagination of what

  613. heaven might be like,

  614. and I've got some questions about God's

  615. creation when I get to heaven. Wouldn't

  616. it be awesome if I could go for a walk

  617. with a giraffe and be like, "Listen, Mr.

  618. Giraffe, those two things on the top of

  619. your head, I've always wondered about

  620. those. What are those for?" And if he

  621. was like, "Well, I just imagine you had

  622. a deep voice." "Well, this is what

  623. they're for. I use these blah blah blah

  624. blah blah blah." Like, and I have other

  625. questions like, "What's it like to

  626. swallow with a neck that long?" You

  627. know, and then they could tell you.

  628. I think that maybe heaven's going to

  629. blow our minds in some ways. What if we

  630. could talk to the creatures and learn

  631. this way in heaven?

  632. This is this is like a Honey, I shrunk

  633. the kids. If you're from the '9s and '

  634. 80s and whatnot, you'll know that movie.

  635. What if we could shrink down? This is

  636. this is one of my favorite little

  637. creatures. This is a jumping spider.

  638. I've used this as an illustration in

  639. kids chapels at a bunch of

  640. differentmies.

  641. They're some of the coolest little

  642. creatures. So colorful. Wouldn't it be

  643. incredible if I could just sit down on a

  644. leaf like this and be like, "So, tell me

  645. what it's like to see with six eyeballs.

  646. What's that like?" Cuz they've got four

  647. across the front, two on the top. At

  648. least six, I think. What's that like?

  649. God made this creature exquisite.

  650. Wouldn't it be incredible if you could

  651. just sit down and be like, "So, tell me

  652. about six eyes. I've only got two. What

  653. are you seeing that I'm not seeing?

  654. What's it like?" These creatures, these

  655. creatures, they're called jumping

  656. spiders because they can jump. If you

  657. could jump as far as a jumping spider,

  658. if they put you in the end zone of an

  659. NFL stadium, you could jump out of the

  660. other side of the stadium and land

  661. outside the stadium. If you could jump

  662. like a jumping spider, what I what I've

  663. read is that they have like g compressed

  664. gas in their joints that just like just

  665. shoots off and they and off they go.

  666. Like, can they feel that? Is it does it

  667. like pressure build up? I want to know

  668. more about these things that God made.

  669. Maybe, just maybe, they've got the same

  670. skills that Bum's donkey has.

  671. And we can sit and have a chat about it.

  672. Who's not wanted to fly before?

  673. Everybody's wanted to fly before. What

  674. if you got flying lessons in heaven from

  675. an eagle? It's like, all right, tilt

  676. your wing a little bit to the left. All

  677. right, there we go. And and the other

  678. one I always hear from kids is, "I want

  679. to be underwater." What's it like to be

  680. underwater? All of this is AI except for

  681. my bicep.

  682. That's real.

  683. But what if you can learn from a dolphin

  684. and be like, "All right, how does

  685. echolocation work? God made you with

  686. with sonar. How does that work? Heaven's

  687. not going to be boring, friends. We're

  688. going to be learning about the coolest

  689. stuff that you can imagine."

  690. Incredible stuff. And there's all kinds

  691. of other creations that God has made

  692. that we're going to get to learn about.

  693. We read about this in like the book of

  694. Job where it says that people from all

  695. over God's creations got together and

  696. met. I want to explore that stuff. I

  697. want to see what that's like.

  698. How interesting will that be to see what

  699. else God has created?

  700. You ever read the verse the lion will

  701. lay down with the lamb?

  702. I think that'll be cool. And I just

  703. popped this into my imagination and had

  704. AI make something like this. But I mean,

  705. imagine a cool nap like that with all

  706. the stuff that you can't take a nap with

  707. now. Like the lion. The lion resting its

  708. head on my shoulder in that picture.

  709. That can happen in heaven.

  710. And maybe the lion will tell you a

  711. story. Who knows? I mean, when the Bible

  712. says you can't even imagine the things

  713. that God has prepared for you in heaven,

  714. the stuff that we imagine just doesn't

  715. even scratch the surface.

  716. I mean, it's endless. I'll stop with

  717. this one cuz my imagination was really

  718. going this week, but it's endless. I

  719. thought I' I've done worship talks on on

  720. ants and the the complexity of ants and

  721. how they work and where they what they

  722. do. It's incredible. But how how awesome

  723. would it be to just drop in and like

  724. have an ant explain to you how their ant

  725. colony works, who's in charge, what they

  726. do. Okay, here's the nursery. There's

  727. all the eggs right over there. Okay,

  728. cool. And you could just zip right down

  729. there and have them explain it to you.

  730. The possibilities in heaven are endless.

  731. And the Bible tells us that above all of

  732. that, all of the learning that we'll get

  733. to do about God's creation, we will

  734. continue to learn about the love of God

  735. for each one of us.

  736. >> Amen. and how how his sacrifice impacted

  737. each one of us.

  738. The plan of redemption.

  739. Imagine sitting down with Jesus

  740. after you've read about him in your

  741. Bible your whole life. You've read

  742. stories about him, watched movies about

  743. Jesus, prayed to Jesus, poured out your

  744. heart to Jesus. Imagine someday sitting

  745. down with him at a table

  746. saying, "Thank you, Lord, for helping me

  747. make it through. Thank you for all this.

  748. Imagine being there with Jesus.

  749. As we continue to learn throughout all

  750. eternity, I guarantee you it's not going

  751. to be boring.

  752. It's going to blow your mind.

  753. All the things that God has prepared for

  754. us there. 1 Corinthians 2:9, "But as it

    1 Corinthians 2:9

  755. is written, eye has not seen nor ear

  756. even heard." Pause there for We've heard

  757. some great stuff. We had beautiful music

  758. earlier. You sound great when we all

  759. sing together. We've heard some great

  760. music, but it says ear hasn't even heard

  761. of what God has prepared for us.

  762. That kind of blows my mind a little bit.

  763. What are we going to hear? Are there

  764. harmonies we haven't heard yet? We'll

  765. get to learn more about that type of a

  766. thing. Eye has not seen or ear heard,

  767. nor have entered in to the heart of man

  768. the things which God has prepared for

  769. those that love him. We spend our time

  770. here on earth learning.

  771. We've been learning since we were born.

  772. We're still learning today. We're still

  773. still learning about God.

  774. Still being inspired as we learn about

  775. him. And when we get to heaven, we will

  776. continue to learn and be impressed and

  777. wowed by all the things that God has

  778. made. How exactly is it going to be? I

  779. have no idea. The Bible says, "My

  780. imagination, as good as it might be with

  781. AI's help, it's still not even

  782. scratching the surface.

  783. But God has amazing things in planned

  784. for us. There is zero chance that you're

  785. going to be disappointed when you get to

  786. heaven. You're not going to get to

  787. heaven and be like, "Man, I kind of miss

  788. you never that that thought won't even

  789. cross your mind because God has big

  790. plans for you in heaven and plans to

  791. prosper you just like he did here." And

  792. I love this verse because it keeps in

  793. the forefront of my mind that God has

  794. big things planned for us for the rest

  795. of eternity in heaven.

  796. Plans where there's no more tears, no

  797. more sickness, no more sadness.

  798. Those are good plans. Those are plans

  799. from a God who loves you.

  800. And when we get to heaven, we'll

  801. continue to learn more and more about

  802. the love of God for each and every one

  803. of us. Father in heaven, we're so

  804. looking forward to being with you in

  805. heaven and continuing to learn about

  806. your love and your grace and your your

  807. plans for us throughout eternity. Lord,

  808. thank you for the reminders in the Bible

  809. that heaven's going to be an exciting

  810. and incredible place. And uh Lord,

  811. continue to prepare our hearts to be

  812. citizens of heaven. We're so glad that

  813. today we're one Sabbath closer to being

  814. with you and ask that you keep us

  815. faithful until that day. Thank you so

  816. much, God, for loving us and for having

  817. plans for our lives. In Jesus name I

  818. pray. Amen. Amen.

  819. >> Thanks again so much for joining us for
