  1. Welcome to NECF Sermons. Each message here is

  2. designed to uplift and strengthen you in your

  3. walk with God. Don't miss out. Stay with us until

  4. the end for a rewarding experience. Let's dive

  5. right in. Thank you, Father. We've been teaching.

  6. I've been leading us in understanding the words

  7. of faith. The words of faith. This is the third

  8. session of it. The words of faith. Last Sunday

  9. and on Wednesday and today is the third. The

  10. words of faith. And today we'll just be looking

  11. at the words of God on our lips as a subtopic.

  12. The word of God on our lips. And let me just

  13. give us a recap so far. On Wednesday we established

  14. some facts. We said, God's walk through his words.

  15. God, who is our example, our father, he walks

  16. through his word. And his word carries the power

  17. to establish his purpose on the earth. And we

  18. read through the creation story. We saw this

  19. in the creation theology in Genesis 1, how God

  20. speak things and things come into existence.

  21. And there was nothing that came into existence

  22. without God speaking it. And we saw that even

  23. in the creation of man, before man came into

  24. existence, man was spoken of. And God set a pattern

  25. for us. God set an example for us. In the activity

  26. that he did on earth, we see that he used words

  27. to speak things into existence. So, went on to

  28. say that words have power. And what we hear and

  29. believe and speak can shape. Our conduct, it

  30. can shape our experiences and words can shape

  31. our realities. And we saw an example in the fall

  32. of man in Genesis 3. We saw it in the fall of

  33. man in Genesis 3. We saw how the words of Satan,

  34. you know, spoken to Eve and Adam in the Garden

  35. of Eden, shaped the realities, their reality.

  36. We see them believing the words that Satan spoke.

  37. And then their realities were established. So

  38. also on to Rosa, what we hear, what we give attention

  39. to, and what we allow to reign supreme by words

  40. have the capacity to shape our experiences and

  41. our realities. And we went on to say that our

  42. words can express either faith or unbelief. Our

  43. words, the things we say, can express either

  44. faith or unbelief. We're going to look more into

  45. this in a few minutes to come. So our words express

  46. either faith or unbelief. So we must take responsibility

  47. for what comes out of our mouths. We don't just

  48. open our mouth and speak anyhow. We assume responsibility

  49. for every single word that comes out of our mouth.

  50. Our words do not only have the capacity to shape

  51. our own realities, but our words can also influence

  52. others around us. It can either edify them or

  53. tear them down. So we have a responsibility,

  54. first and foremost. You know, in Scripture, the

  55. Bible says that we will give account for every

  56. idle word. We will give account for every word

  57. that we speak. So therefore comes the responsibility

  58. to speak properly. Because every word we speak,

  59. the Bible says we give an account for it. And

  60. as believers, we must learn to speak in agreement

  61. to God's word. We must learn to speak always

  62. in agreement with God's word, expressing faith

  63. rather than fear. doubt, negativity, or unbelief.

  64. The words we speak daily must always be in alignment

  65. with the word of God. Our words must express

  66. what must express faith rather than fear, doubt,

  67. or negativity or unbelief. Now I want us to begin

  68. by looking at the believer's confession. The

  69. believer's confession. What is the confession

  70. of the believer? The confession of the believer

  71. must be the word of God. The confession of the

  72. believers must be the word of God. Now, when

  73. we say that your words shapes your realities.

  74. And what we expect to see you speak are positive

  75. words. Now, positive words must be the word of

  76. God. Hallelujah. Your confession must be the

  77. word of God. What is confession? What is confession?

  78. Romans chapter 10, verse 8 to 10. Romans chapter

    Romans 10:8–10 Romans 10:8–10

  79. 10, verse 8 to 10. But what does it say? The

  80. word is near you. In your mouth and in your heart.

  81. That is the words of faith which we preach. The

  82. context here is the gospel. Now that if you confess,

  83. what is that confess? What does it mean to confess?

  84. What does it mean to profess? That if you confess

  85. with your mouth, what are you confessing? If

  86. you confess with your mouth, you confess what?

  87. The Lord Jesus. and believe in your heart that

  88. God had raised him from the dead, you will be

  89. safe. So our confession to salvation is Christ.

  90. We confess Christ and we are safe. For with the

  91. heart one believes unto righteousness, and with

  92. the mouth, oh, is it with the mind? With the

  93. mouth, right? Confession is made. onto salvation.

  94. Confession is made onto salvation with the mouth.

  95. Hallelujah. So we make confession, we confess

  96. Jesus. In fact, the confession that brings salvation

  97. is not the confession of sins, but the confession

  98. of Jesus. You don't confess sin to be saved.

  99. I've given this example some years ago. I said,

  100. when you catch a thief red -handed and him, Agreeing

  101. there is a thief does not make him exonerated.

  102. Hallelujah. Doesn't make him exonerated. But

  103. when a judge passes a judgment of acquaintance

  104. and a person confesses the judgment of the judge,

  105. it becomes his reality. Look at what that confession

  106. is. 1 Timothy 6, verse 12. 1 Timothy 6, verse

    1 Timothy 6:12 1 Timothy 6:12

  107. 12. Find the good fight of faith, lay hold of

  108. eternal life, lay hold on eternal life, to which

  109. you will also call and have confessed. So what

  110. have they confessed? They've confessed the confession

  111. of faith. They've made the confession of eternal

  112. life. The good confession in the presence of

  113. many witnesses. Confession. Hebrews chapter 3

    Hebrews 3:1

  114. verse 1. Hebrews chapter 3, verse 1. Therefore,

    Hebrews 3:1

  115. holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling,

  116. consider the apostle and the high priest of our

  117. confession, Christ Jesus. So confession has specification

  118. and the confession is a person. And the confession

  119. is who? Is Christ Jesus. Hebrews 10, 23. Hebrews

    Hebrews 10:23

  120. chapter 10, verse 23. Hebrews 10, verse 23. Let

    Hebrews 10:23

  121. us hold fast the confession of our hope without

  122. wavering. For he who promises is faithful. For

  123. he who promises what? Is faithful. Now, the word

  124. confess in the New Testament Scriptures is translated

  125. from the Greek word homologio. Let me spell it.

  126. H -O -M -O. L -O -G -E -O in the Greek. Homologio.

  127. Some places we see homologia, equally meaning,

  128. you know, similarly the same thing, which means

  129. to speak the same thing. It means to speak the

  130. same thing. That is, to assent to something.

  131. To agree with something or with someone. To declare

  132. what someone has said or to admit. So, confession

  133. is not just speaking in the air. Confession has

  134. a focus and a direction. Confession is to say

  135. the same as God has said. Alright? We saw in

  136. the scriptures we read that Jesus Christ is our

  137. confession. So when the Bible says that Jesus

  138. Christ is our confession, what we're saying is

  139. that we are agreeing with what God has done in

  140. Christ. Jesus came to die for the forgiveness

  141. of our sins. So confessing Jesus Christ is admitting

  142. that what God has done is your reality. That

  143. is a confession. Hallelujah. Now, do you now

  144. see why I said that we don't confess sin to be

  145. saved? All right? We confess what God has done

  146. concerning sin to be saved. And our confession

  147. is a person, is Jesus Christ. Hallelujah. So,

  148. confession is to say the same thing as God has

  149. said it. Not just cutting scriptures in this

  150. context, but believing and agreeing with scripture.

  151. All right? The scripture is about the person

  152. and the person is Christ. We boldly say what

  153. God has said in his word. Confession is driven

  154. by conviction. Confession is driven by what?

  155. By conviction. Conviction is a state of persuasiveness.

  156. You heard the thing. And you've come to know

  157. that that thing is true. And there's no wavering

  158. in your position concerning that which you've

  159. heard. You are convinced, you are convicted within

  160. your heart that this is a fact concerning what

  161. you've heard. So confession is driven by conviction.

  162. It is birthed from the faith that we find operational

  163. in the heart of the believer. So confession of

  164. faith should not be substituted for positive

  165. confession. You know, we are in an era where

  166. people are encouraged to speak positive things.

  167. Now, when it comes to the confession of faith,

  168. it's not just speaking positive things. Not every

  169. positive thing you say is a confession of faith.

  170. Positive confession... is to keep saying something

  171. good and positive so that by saying it, it will

  172. happen. That is positive speaking. But the confession

  173. of faith is not positive thinking or positive

  174. speaking. Somehow we found, you know, this misconception

  175. in the faith teaching in many churches today

  176. that they substitute positive speaking to the

  177. speaking of faith. It is not the same thing.

  178. In the case of faith speaking or speaking the

  179. words of faith, speaking what you believe in

  180. your heart with your mouth is positive. Alright?

  181. Speaking what you believe in your heart with

  182. your mouth is positive. But it is not positive

  183. speaking. It is a confession of faith. For example

  184. now, in the Bible, the Bible says that For example,

  185. if I confess and say, I am the righteousness

  186. of God in Christ Jesus, it's something positive,

  187. right? I am the righteousness of God in Christ

  188. Jesus is positive. But I'm not saying it to be

  189. positive. I'm not saying it to make it good,

  190. even though it's a good saying. The confession

  191. of faith is Christ -centered speaking. It's a

  192. Christ -centered speaking. Are we together? The

  193. confession of faith is Christ -centered speaking,

  194. specifically. It's a Christ -centered speaking.

  195. It's not everything that is positive that is

  196. Christ -centered. Are we together? So, confession

  197. of faith is Christ -centered speaking, Jesus

  198. -dominated speaking. It is a Jesus dominated

  199. speaking. I'm distinguishing positive speaking

  200. and the confession of faith. The confession of

  201. faith is Christ centered speaking. It is a Jesus

  202. dominated speaking. And this is birthed by Christ

  203. dominated thinking. Hallelujah. It is dominated

  204. by what? By Christ thinking. Christ centered

  205. thinking. So my words must give expression to

  206. that which has been done or will be done in Christ.

  207. So the parameter of my confession is within what

  208. Christ has done. what Christ is doing or what

  209. Christ will do. This is the confession of faith.

  210. So what I'm doing is that I'm agreeing that this

  211. is what the Word of God says concerning what

  212. Christ has done. What I'm agreeing, which is

  213. the word confession, is that I'm agreeing with

  214. what God will do in Christ because there are

  215. some things that God will do in your life. And

  216. it's... It's founded on what God has done already

  217. in his death, in his burial and resurrection.

  218. So what we do as we confess that we are agreeing

  219. with what Christ has done. We are agreeing with

  220. what God said he will do. We are agreeing with

  221. what God says he's doing right now in our lives.

  222. That is faith confession. That is a confession

  223. of faith. Our words must give expression to that

  224. which Christ has done or is doing or will do.

  225. So the confession of faith are things that are

  226. said that we thoughtfully consider the person

  227. of Jesus Christ. The confessions of faith are

  228. the things that we say that as we say them, we

  229. are thoughtfully considering the person. The

  230. character, the ability, the faithfulness, the

  231. promises that are in Christ. So, our confession

  232. has a boundary and the boundary is Christ. So,

  233. when we talk about... good things, speak better

  234. things, speak positive things. We're not saying

  235. don't speak anything that you feel like speaking.

  236. We're saying that your speaking has a parameter

  237. and your speaking is situated within what Christ

  238. has done. Your speaking is situated within the

  239. character and the ability of God. Your speaking

  240. is founded on the foundation of what God has

  241. said, what God has done. What God is doing and

  242. what God has said he will do. Therefore, the

  243. word of God must dwell in us richly. The word

  244. of God must dwell in us richly. Why will the

  245. word of God, why must the word of God dwell in

  246. us richly? So that our confession will be centered

  247. on what God has said. The word of God must dwell

  248. in us richly so that our thinking and our meditation

  249. will influence the things that come out of our

  250. mouth. So that we will have sufficiency of words

  251. to speak concerning our lives, concerning situations,

  252. concerning our realities, concerning our future,

  253. concerning everything that pertains to us in

  254. the earth. Joshua chapter 1 verse 8. Joshua chapter

    Joshua 1:8 Joshua 1:8

  255. 1 verse 8. Let's see the exhortation that Moses

  256. gave to Joshua. It says the book of the law shall

  257. not depart from where? Hello? From your mind?

  258. Where should the book of the law never depart

  259. from? From where? From the mouth. Now, there's

  260. no how you meditate without your mouth. Okay?

  261. Let me establish this. Meditation is thinking

  262. and speaking. The book of the law, this book

  263. of the law, shall not depart from your mouth.

  264. Which means that Moses explains that Joshua continually

  265. speaks what God has said. It means that Joshua

  266. should continually speak what God has said. In

  267. his speaking, his teaching is what God has said.

  268. In his life, he speaks what God has said. This

  269. book of the Lord shall not depart from your mouth,

  270. but you shall meditate in it day and night that

  271. you may observe to do according to all that is

  272. written in it. For then you will make your way

  273. prosperous. And then you will have what? You

  274. will have good success. But it begins from where?

  275. From the word not departing from your mouth.

  276. Hallelujah. Which means that his confession,

  277. his profession, and his speaking continually

  278. must be the word of God. The word of God not

  279. departing from his mouth. Then we see his meditation,

  280. what happens within his mind. As he meditates,

  281. he speaks the word of God. Then we see his actions

  282. also, the word of God. And then we see success,

  283. we see prosperity. Colossians chapter 3, verse

    Colossians 3:16–17

  284. 16 to 17. Colossians chapter 3, verse 16 to 17.

    Colossians 3:16–17

  285. It says, let the word of God, the word of Christ,

  286. dwell in you, how? Richly. Richly. the word of

  287. God dwelling in you richly in all wisdom, teaching

  288. and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns

  289. and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your

  290. heart to the Lord. And whatever you do in your

  291. speech or in your conduct, do all things in the

  292. name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God

  293. the Father through him. It says, let the word

  294. of God dwell in you richly. So thinking about

  295. God's word is good, but speaking the word of

  296. God is much more important. Hallelujah. You can

  297. think about it. When you don't speak it, you

  298. limit what you're thinking from finding expression.

  299. Hallelujah. So we have a duty to meditate, to

  300. think over the word of God. But most importantly,

  301. we allow the word of God to find expression in

  302. our lips. It becomes our conversation. It becomes

  303. our testimony. It becomes our reality. It becomes

  304. our affirmation. It becomes what by which our

  305. lives are shaped by. So the word of God becomes

  306. our reality. It becomes our speech daily. It

  307. becomes our songs. The word of God becomes our

  308. songs. Hallelujah. Our words are empty as men

  309. in regards to the purposes of God. In regards

  310. to the purposes of God. Our words are empty as

  311. men. We must fill them with God's word. Alright?

  312. As regards to the purposes of God. Our words

  313. are empty. We fill them with God's word to see

  314. God's result manifested in our lives. Hallelujah.

  315. So contextually, to God's plan and God's purpose,

  316. our words have no effect. We fill them with what

  317. God has said to see God's result manifested in

  318. our lives. When we fill them with another word,

  319. The words of God that can come from Satan, from

  320. whatever, what do you call, origin, we will see

  321. the result from that source. But believers will

  322. fill our words with the words of God. We fill

  323. our thoughts, our speech, with the word of God.

  324. And we see the God kind of result in manifestation

  325. in our lives. So God's words on our lips. It's

  326. not only for sharing or for evangelism. Okay?

  327. We go out to preach. We tell people about the

  328. good news. We tell them about what Christ has

  329. done. We tell people about what Christ wants

  330. them to come into. But most importantly, the

  331. Word of God on our lips is also for our daily

  332. living. We keep saying God's words to see His

  333. Word at work daily in our lives. Our desire in

  334. this church is to see that your life daily is

  335. shaped by the Word of God. Not only that you

  336. accurately understand the Word of God, that you

  337. are properly taught the Word of God in its accuracy,

  338. but that you take up what has been taught and

  339. make it your own meditation and make it your

  340. own confession daily. Therein you will see the

  341. prosperity, the prosperity that is in God's Word.

  342. So God speaks his word so that we in turn can

  343. have what to say. Our life, the Bible says that

  344. the life that we live, we live by the faith of

  345. God. Hallelujah. It means that we live by the

  346. word of God. God's word is to be our word always.

  347. God's word must always determine our communication.

  348. God's word should always determine our communication.

  349. Our communication must be based on the certainty

  350. of what God has said. On the certainty. What

  351. does it mean to be certain that God said this

  352. thing? I believe it and I walk by it and I say

  353. it. Because God has said it, it becomes my confession.

  354. In all things and in all ways. Hallelujah. Now,

  355. I want us to see also, if you're writing, you

  356. can write the believer's authority. I want us

  357. to see that the believer's authority in Christ,

  358. the believer's authority is in Christ. That authority

  359. that we have in Christ is expressed through the

  360. words of faith. Without the expression of the

  361. words of faith, it becomes impossible for the

  362. believer to establish the authority on the earth.

  363. The believer's authority is expressed by words.

  364. We saw in the creation of Adam, the story of

  365. creation. that Adam's dominion was transmitted

  366. to him through words. That Adam's dominion was

  367. transmitted through words. Genesis 1, verse 26.

    Genesis 1:26

  368. Quickly, give me Genesis 21. All you can write.

  369. We've read this before. Last teaching. Genesis

  370. 1, 26 to 28. Genesis 2. But let's read Genesis

    Genesis 2:15–20

  371. 2, verse 15 to 20. Genesis 1, 26 to 28 speaks

  372. about God creating man. and giving him dominion.

  373. And then in Genesis chapter 2, verse 15 to 20,

    Genesis 2:15–20

  374. Then the Lord God took the man and put him in

  375. the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the

  376. Lord commanded him, Man saying, Of every tree

  377. of the garden you may freely eat. But of the

  378. tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall

  379. not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you

  380. shall surely die. And the Lord God said, It is

  381. not good that a man should be alone. I will make

  382. him a helper comparable to him. Out of the ground

  383. the Lord God formed every beast of the field

  384. and every bird of the air and brought them to

  385. Adam to see. And what he called them, whatever

  386. Adam said concerning what was brought to him,

  387. Whatever Adam called each living creature, that

  388. was his name. So we see that in the plan of God,

  389. that man will live on the earth and his expression

  390. of the dominion will be in what he says. So man

  391. began to express authority over creation. by

  392. what he sees. So Adam gave names to all the cattle,

  393. to the birds of the air, and to every beast of

  394. the field. But for Adam, there was not found

  395. a helper comparable to him. Hallelujah. Equally,

  396. at the resurrection, in the new creation, we

  397. also see Jesus Christ giving believers authority.

  398. In Matthew 28, verse 18. And I want us to read

    Matthew 28:18

  399. this in the NLT. Matthew 28, verse 18. In the

    Matthew 28:18

  400. NLT. Jesus came and told his disciples, I have

  401. been given all authority. I have been given all

  402. authority in heaven. and in the earth. That is

  403. Genesis 1 conversation. In the heavens and the

  404. earth. Let's read that similar text in Mark.

  405. Mark 16. Mark 16. So Jesus has been given authority.

  406. How did he achieve that authority? By his death,

  407. his burial and his resurrection, his humanity

  408. and all that he has done on earth. Mark 16. Yes,

  409. the same NLT from verse 15 to 18. And he told

  410. them, continuation of that story. And he told

  411. them, go into all the world and preach the good

  412. news to everyone. So all authority in heaven

  413. and the earth has been given to him. And then

  414. he has delegated that authority to what? To the

  415. believers. And in that delegation, he gave an

  416. authority, he gave a commission to them. Verse

  417. 15. He gave them a commission. Give me verse

  418. 15. And he told them, go into all the world and

  419. preach the good news to everyone. Verse 16. Anyone

  420. who believes and is baptized will be saved. But

  421. anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned.

  422. These miraculous signs will accompany those who

  423. believe. They will cast out demons in my name.

  424. Does it look like authority? Yes. The believer

  425. has authority to cast out devils in Jesus' name.

  426. And they will speak in new languages. Verse 18.

  427. They will be able to handle snakes with safety.

  428. This is a qualified language here. And if they

  429. drink anything poisonous, it won't hurt them.

  430. They will be able to place their hands on the

  431. sick. Doesn't look like authority on sickness,

  432. right? And they will be healed. Now let's look

  433. at verse 20. Did it happen? Verse 20. And the

  434. disciples went everywhere. Now, the entirety

  435. of the book of Acts is summarized in this one

  436. verse. All we see written in the book of Acts

  437. is summarized in this one verse here. And the

  438. disciples went everywhere. We see in the book

  439. of Acts. And they preached. And the Lord walked

  440. through them, confirming what they said. By what?

  441. By many. Miraculous signs. He confirmed what

  442. they were saying with signs and wonders. So as

  443. they say, we see the authority expressed in miraculous

  444. signs and wonders. Hallelujah. But they have

  445. to go about to preach, to say. So Jesus gave

  446. authority to the disciples in the resurrection

  447. as we've seen in this text. As they went speaking,

  448. God was with them. And he was confirming their

  449. words with their accompanying signs and wonders.

  450. So we see in verse 15 that the gospel that saves

  451. men is preached through words. Alright? One of

  452. the ways a believer expresses his authority in

  453. Christ is through the preaching of the gospel.

  454. When you go about preaching the gospel, you've

  455. been authorized by God to preach the gospel.

  456. So a way by which you express authority you have,

  457. you've been licensed by God in Christ to preach

  458. the gospel. So one of the ways by which you express

  459. our authority in Christ is actually by going

  460. to preach. So the words that saves men is delivered.

  461. What saves men is delivered by words. Yesterday

  462. there was evangelism. I heard of testimonies

  463. of people going out and they were speaking. Alright?

  464. That's the authority. You are exercising your

  465. authority by speaking. You have the authority

  466. to speak to someone concerning Christ. Because

  467. you've experienced Christ and Christ lives in

  468. you, you've been authorized to speak about Christ.

  469. To tell people about God. To announce to people

  470. about the good news. They won't preach in that

  471. verse 15. It's translated from the Greek word

  472. kerouzo. The pastor was teaching us this. K -E

  473. -R -U -S -O. Kerouzo. It means to proclaim, to

  474. herald, to proclaim. Alright? To announce a message

  475. publicly with conviction. That is with persuasion

  476. in your heart. This announcement is done through

  477. words. This announcement, this proclamation,

  478. this preaching is done through words. For there

  479. to be salvation, there must be a preaching of

  480. the message of God. There must be The proclamation

  481. of the message of God. There must be the announcement

  482. of the message of God. Romans chapter 10, verse

    Romans 10:14

  483. 14 and 15. It says that how can men be safe if

  484. they have not heard the word? Romans chapter

    Romans 10:14

  485. 10, verse 14 and 15 says, How then shall they

  486. call on him whom they have not believed? And

  487. how shall they believe? in him of whom they have

  488. not heard. So they must hear of him to believe

  489. in him, to call on him. And how shall they hear

  490. without a preacher? All right, verse 15. And

  491. how shall they preach unless they are sent? So

  492. if you are not sent, it means you are not qualified

  493. to preach. And by virtue of you believing, you've

  494. been sent actually. As it is written, how beautiful

  495. are the feet of those who preach the gospel of

  496. peace, who bring glad tidings and of good things.

  497. So salvation is in words spoken. If we don't

  498. speak, there will be no salvation. Hallelujah.

  499. See, you can do drama. You can act drama. Right?

  500. And as you are acting that drama, Let me tell

  501. you, what people are seeing is different. All

  502. right? We can all watch the same movie, but what

  503. we're seeing is different. But if we say something

  504. about Christ, it's certain that this is what

  505. Christ has done. Hallelujah. The gospel is in

  506. words. God has made it that the salvation of

  507. men will be through words. That the salvation

  508. of souls, you were saved because of the word

  509. you heard. You heard about Jesus by someone preaching

  510. Jesus to you. And you came to believe in what

  511. has been preached about Jesus. Acts chapter 11,

    Acts 11:12–14

  512. verse 12 to 14. Acts 11, verse 12 to 14. We see

    Acts 11:12–14

  513. an example. It says, Then the Spirit told me

  514. to go with them, doubting not. The context here

  515. is Peter. Moreover, these six brethren accompanied

  516. me and we entered the man's house. And he told

  517. us how he had seen an angel. Okay? How he had

  518. seen an angel standing in his house who said

  519. to him, send men to Joppa and call for Simon

  520. whose son's name is Peter. Now, An unbeliever

  521. had an encounter with an angel. The angel did

  522. not preach the word of Christ to him. The angel

  523. asked him to go and call a man. Peter. Alright?

  524. Very specifically. Who will tell you words by

  525. which you And all your household will be saved.

  526. Why didn't the angel told him the word that his

  527. household will be saved? Why didn't the angel

  528. assume the responsibility of telling this unbeliever

  529. the words by which he and his household will

  530. be saved? God has delegated the announcement

  531. of the words of salvation to us men. have the

  532. responsibility to preach the word of God for

  533. men to be saved. Hallelujah. In rare cases, I

  534. will say this carefully, in rare cases, we see

  535. angels sent to speak the word of God to people

  536. so that they will be born again. In very rare

  537. cases. But the usual way by which God acts on

  538. the earth in announcing the gospel to men, It's

  539. true men. And you and I have been commissioned,

  540. we've been authorized, we've been given the ability

  541. to do what? To exercise the authority that we

  542. have in Christ by preaching and bringing authority.

  543. Listen, when you go to preach, you are giving

  544. people life. You've been authorized to give life

  545. to men. And this life you are authorized to give

  546. is an eternal life. You are the urgency by which

  547. men will come to eternal life. Hallelujah. So

  548. we must speak the words of salvation. Our authority

  549. is expressed by speaking. By speaking words.

  550. So the disciples had authority to cast out demons.

  551. Mark 16 verse 17, you see, when Jesus was telling

    Mark 16:17

  552. them. Let's read back that Mark 16, verse 17.

    Mark 16:17

  553. In the NKJV, Mark 16, 17. It says, and these

  554. saints will follow those who believe. In my name,

  555. they will what? They will cast out demons. They

  556. will speak with new tongues. So how will they

  557. cast out demons? How? By speaking. The way by

  558. which they'll cast out demons is by speaking.

  559. When we read through the gospel, we see that

  560. whenever Jesus had an encounter with demons,

  561. he spoke to them and he exercised his authority

  562. as God by speaking to the demons and then casting

  563. them out. Equally, let's see in Acts chapter

    Acts 16:16–18

  564. 16, verse 16 to 18. Acts 16, verse 16 to 18.

    Acts 16:16–18

  565. Now it happened as we went. To prayer that a

  566. certain slave girl possessed with the spirit

  567. of divination met us, who brought her masters

  568. much profit by fortune -telling. This girl followed

  569. Paul and us and cried out, saying, These men

  570. are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim

  571. to us the way of salvation. And this She did

  572. for many days, which means that this slave girl

  573. was with them for many days. But Paul, greatly

  574. annoyed by what? By her activity, turned and

  575. said to the Spirit. He spoke to the Spirit. He

  576. said to the Spirit, I command you in the name

  577. of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came

  578. out that very hour. Hallelujah. So verse 18 says,

  579. is it verse 18? Yes. Verse 16 says she did many

  580. days with them. Is it verse 16? Verse 17, give

  581. verse 17. Yes, verse 18, is it verse 18? And

  582. this she did for many days. That means that she

  583. has been saying and speaking. Until Paul decided

  584. to cast out the demon by speaking a word. Now,

  585. was the authority, was Paul having the authority

  586. for those days that he has been speaking the

  587. word of God? And the demon was in the girl. And

  588. we don't see the authority exercised. We don't

  589. see the demon coming out. Until when Paul decided,

  590. alright, to act on his will. And in acting on

  591. his will, concerning that demon, concerning that

  592. devil, he spoke words of authority. He gave an

  593. instruction and he spoke and we see that the

  594. demon left the lady. So until we speak, nothing

  595. happens in our lives. It is not the absence of

  596. power. It is oftentimes the absence of speaking.

  597. And sometimes even when we speak, do we speak

  598. with conviction? Do we believe what we are speaking?

  599. Do we agree with persuasion that that which we

  600. are speaking will happen? So I want to throw

  601. us a challenge. We must go on speaking the word

  602. of God concerning situations, concerning circumstances.

  603. Casting out devils is a way by which the believer

  604. expresses authority. And every believer has that

  605. ability, has that authority in him to cast out

  606. devils. So we must speak with confidence that

  607. the power of God is indwelling in us. And as

  608. we speak, we look forward to seeing the power

  609. of God at work through our lives. Hallelujah.

  610. So, we see also that Peter was able to exercise

  611. healing. The Bible says that they will lay hands

  612. on the sick and the sick will be healed. Mark

    Mark 16:18

  613. 16 verse 18. How will the sick be healed? The

  614. sick will be healed by the speaking of healing.

  615. They will take up serpents and if they drink,

  616. anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them.

  617. They will lay hands on the sick and the sick

  618. will recover. The laying of hands is accompanied

  619. by the speaking of that healing. And the healing

  620. takes place. Acts chapter 3 verse 1 to 8, an

    Acts 3:1–8

  621. example of this happening. Acts chapter 3 verse

    Acts 3:1–8

  622. 1 to 8, we see consistently in the life of the

  623. apostles. especially Peter in this context. Now

  624. Peter and John went up together to the temple

  625. at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a

  626. certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried

  627. home. They lay daily at the gate of the temple,

  628. which is called beautiful to ask alms from those

  629. who enter the temple. Who seeing Peter and John

  630. about to go into the temple asked for alms and

  631. fixing his eyes on him with John. And Peter said,

  632. look at us. I mean, Pastor Carson was teaching

  633. this. So he gave them his attention. And his

  634. attention he was expecting what? To receive something

  635. from them, to receive money from them. Then Peter

  636. said, silver and gold I do not have, but what

  637. I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ

  638. of Nazareth, rise up and what? And walk. And

  639. he took him by the hand. and lifted him up, and

  640. immediately his feet and ankles bones received

  641. strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked

  642. and entered the temple with them, walking, leaping,

  643. and praising God. Hallelujah. Peter spoke healing

  644. into this man's body, and lifting him up, laying

  645. hands on him and lifting him up, he received

  646. healing. Let's see another example, Acts 9, verse

    Acts 9:32

  647. 32. To 35, Peter was able to heal through the

  648. use of words. We see the power of God in him,

  649. finding expression by his speaking of faith and

  650. establishing the healing in this life, in the

  651. life of this man. Acts chapter 9, verse 32 and

    Acts 9:32

  652. 35. And Peter said to him, Now it came to pass,

  653. as Peter went through all the parts of the country,

  654. that he also came down to the saints who dwell

  655. in Leda. There he found a certain man named Aeneas,

  656. who had been bedridden eight years and was paralyzed.

  657. Eight years. And Peter said to him, Aeneas. Peter

  658. said to him. Peter spoke the word of healing.

  659. Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. That is how

  660. we administer healing. We speak healing to people.

  661. Alright? We speak healing to people. We declare

  662. healing by our words. Someone is sick, when you

  663. lay your hand on him, don't speak in tongues.

  664. Speak healing. Hallelujah. Speak healing. Sometimes

  665. we speak in tongues because we don't want to

  666. say something that we don't believe in. Speak

  667. healing. Alter healing. command the sickness

  668. to go, command healing to come. And Peter said

  669. to him, Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise

  670. and make your bed. Then he arose. How? Immediately.

  671. All the examples of healings we see in scriptures,

  672. the Bible says immediately. Hallelujah. And verse

  673. 35. So all who dwell at Leda and Sharon saw him

  674. and turned to the Lord because of what they've

  675. seen. Hallelujah. So we must believe that healing

  676. proceeds when we speak. When we utter words,

  677. healing happens. The apostles also did miracles

  678. by speaking the words of faith. Acts chapter

    Acts 13:4–12

  679. 13 verse 4 to 12 is an example of So being sent

  680. out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia,

  681. and from there they sailed to Cyprus. And when

  682. they arrived in Salamis, they preached the word

  683. of God in the synagogue of the Jews. They also

  684. had John as their assistant herein. in Salamis.

  685. Now, when they had gone through the island to

  686. Paphos, Paphos is in the Greek site, they found

  687. a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew whose

  688. name was Bar -Jesus, who was with a proconsul,

  689. Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man. This man

  690. called for Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear

  691. the word of God. But Elymas, the sorcerer, for

  692. so his name is translated, withstood them, seeking

  693. to turn the proconsul away from the faith. What

  694. was he doing? He was doing magic. Alright? He

  695. was doing... What would I call it? I know it

  696. in my tribe, but I can't say it in English. He

  697. was doing some things anyway to shift the attention

  698. of... The proconsul from hearing. Alright? Then

  699. Saul, who also is called Paul, fear with the

  700. Holy Ghost, look intently at him. And he said

  701. to him, O fool of all deceit, he said, and all

  702. fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all

  703. righteousness, will you not cease perverting

  704. the straight ways of the Lord? And now indeed

  705. the hand of the Lord is upon you. That is a declaration,

  706. that is an exercise of authority. He is speaking,

  707. exercising his authority to what? To withstand

  708. the activity of the devil through the man Elemas.

  709. And you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for

  710. a time. If it's your Bible, please, when you

  711. read this verse 11, underline that for a time.

  712. All right? And immediately a dark mist fell on

  713. him, and he went around seeking someone to lead

  714. him by the hand. Hallelujah. Then a proconsul

  715. believed when he saw what had been done, being

  716. astonished at what? At the... teaching of the

  717. Lord. What made Elie Mas, what made the proconsul

  718. believe is not the miracle. Alright? Come on.

  719. Those people, they've seen power manifesting.

  720. Those kind of activities are not new to people

  721. in power. Alright? So, Elie Mas has been doing

  722. a lot of miracles. They've seen many things happen.

  723. But, Seeing that Paul was able to exert a particular

  724. authority that tamed Elemas, and then by the

  725. teaching of the Lord, the proconsul came to faith,

  726. was able to believe. Hallelujah. He believed

  727. by what Paul was able to speak and teach. Hallelujah.

  728. So we see here that Paul was able to, for a time,

  729. limit the activity of Satan, the activity of

  730. the devil by the exercise of his authority. And

  731. we see him exercise authority by speaking what

  732. he wants to see in that particular time and it

  733. happened. Hallelujah. So as we close, as we close

  734. for today, greater works require greater expression

  735. of faith. And God has given us his word so that

  736. it can fill our hearts. It can shape our thinking

  737. and also become our confession. So God has given

  738. us his word and his word is expected to fill

  739. our hearts. That is, we believe in God's word

  740. and God's word is our meditation. And then we

  741. give room for the Word to shape the way we think.

  742. We think through the lenses of what God has said.

  743. We judge circumstances and situations by the

  744. Word of God. We use the Word of God to measure

  745. the things we hear. We use the Word of God to

  746. measure the decisions we take. So God has given

  747. us His Word so that it can fill our hearts to

  748. shape our thinking. And also become our confession.

  749. Faith is not merely believing what God said.

  750. Believing what God said is very important. But

  751. it's not just believing what God said alone.

  752. Faith speaks what God has said. Amen? Faith does

  753. what? Faith speaks what God has said. You believe

  754. what God has said, you speak what God has said.

  755. I believe what God has said, I speak what God

  756. has said. So faith speaks. Our authority is expressed

  757. through words. If you want to see authority in

  758. your life, daily manifested, then you must take

  759. advantage of your words. and speak. But your

  760. words must be filled with the words of God. So

  761. our authority is expressed through words. So

  762. we must train our words to agree with what God,

  763. with God. We must train our words to agree with

  764. God. That is to agree with what God has said.

  765. Rather than fear, Rather than doubt, rather than

  766. the circumstance, rather than unbelief, rather

  767. than what is presented before you as facts. Of

  768. course, you can feel some symptoms on your body.

  769. It's a fact that you have a problem with your

  770. stomach. But what God is saying is you are healed.

  771. So you agree with what God has said that I'm

  772. healed. You side with what God has said concerning

  773. your healing. Until you see you are healed, you

  774. keep confessing the word of God. You keep believing

  775. the word of God. And then you see healing manifested.

  776. So this week as we go, we must put the word of

  777. God in our lips. Joshua 1 verse 8. The book of

    Joshua 1:8

  778. the Lord, the word of God, the doctrine of God,

  779. the teaching of God, the heart of God. Must continually

  780. be on our mouth. Must continually be on your

  781. lips. The word of God must continuously be on

  782. your lips. So we must fill our hearts. Spend

  783. time daily in God's word. Spend time in God's

  784. word. You must think the word of God. Firstly,

  785. fill your heart with the word of God. A man that

  786. is not worded is a man that cannot express authority.

  787. Because you don't just speak your own word, you

  788. speak the word of God. You speak from your position

  789. of understanding of God's word. You speak from

  790. the position of the conviction that you have

  791. in God's word. So the word of God must fill your

  792. heart. You must spend time daily in God's word.

  793. Secondly, you must think the word of God. Meditate

  794. on what God has said, not on your circumstance.

  795. Some of us are fond of meditating. Every human

  796. being meditates. If you can worry, it means that

  797. you can meditate. Worry is a form of meditation.

  798. You are just thinking about your problem before

  799. you know it. You start speaking. Have you ever

  800. seen someone walking around and he's just talking

  801. to himself? He's just speaking to himself. He's

  802. speaking his problem. Speaking the things happening

  803. to him. It's not fear. How can I be in this kind

  804. of a thing? And then all that comes from you

  805. is expression of the things that is happening

  806. to you. This week, make up your mind that your

  807. meditation will not be about the problem. In

  808. fact, if you keep meditating on the problem,

  809. you will not see solution. Hallelujah. So, your

  810. mind must be transformed by the word of God.

  811. And your mind must be filled by the word of God,

  812. meditating on the word of God rather than the

  813. circumstance. Then number three, you must speak

  814. the word of God. Make God's word your confession

  815. concerning every situation. Alright? Number four,

  816. reject contrary words. Because your circumstance

  817. will speak. People will speak. The media will

  818. speak. Chadibity will speak. Some of us, the

  819. moment we just have a symptom, the first place

  820. to go is to Chadibity. We tell Chadibity what

  821. we're feeling. And Chadibity has a way of telling

  822. us what he feels about your situation. Now, I'm

  823. not saying that having a knowledge is bad. What

  824. I'm saying is that your faith is important. And

  825. must be founded in the word of God. So reject

  826. contrary words. Refuse fear and doubt. Refuse

  827. worry. Refuse negativity. And speak the word

  828. of God. Number five, the last one. Act on your

  829. confession. Let your words, let the words of

  830. your faith, let your words of faith produce corresponding

  831. actions. Alright? We say that faith is expressed

  832. in our conduct, in our actions. So let your words

  833. of faith produce corresponding actions. Thereby,

  834. you know, you see the power of God fully expressed

  835. in your life. Hallelujah. We appreciate you being

  836. here today. We hope you carry this word with

  837. you throughout your week. Don't forget to check
