We're going to continue on with this uh this topic of transformation.

I see this praying.

I think I'm starting to settle my heart.

About the end of October, we'll probably be wrapping up the whole thing.

And of course, we're gonna be getting to our holiday season, but uh we're gonna stay here in Romans 12.

I got the New Living Translation for you today.

I've been reading our main text out of the New King James Version lately, but uh I'm gonna go to New Living Translation.

And you'll see why.

Uh maybe not, I don't know if I'm gonna finish today.

So maybe next week you'll see why we go to New Living Translation.

But let's read this together.

Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.

Then you'll learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

And the journey of transformation that we've been talking on now for uh uh a long time.

I uh I always like to reiterate and remind you that it's a topic, or not even a topic, let's call it a subject, a principle.

It's a necessity in our lives to understand that transformation continues.

No matter how old we get, no matter the seasons of our life, whatever's happening, transformation continues in our lives.

And why or how does it come about, as I've been expressing to you, the mind, by changing the way we think, by renewing the mind, as New King James Version would say, by the renewing of your mind, by the changing of the way you think, you'll see transformation in your life.

So today um I want to take you back to James, and we're gonna fit well again.

I'll try to finish today, I don't know if I will, but we're gonna wrap up in James 1, uh, as we've been reading about uh how James talks about the person who's being tossed by the waves and asks to God for wisdom but has doubt in their heart.

So let's catch up in verse 2 first.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, when you face trials of many kinds.

Verse 3 Because you know that the testing of your faith, the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, lot not lacking anything.

And if any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.

Last time I was with you, we we kind of stopped there at verse 7, and uh today we're gonna finish off the passage in verse 8.

So verse 8, it's there on the board for you.

Uh that person, such a person, is a double, is double-minded, is a double-minded person.

Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

Um we're on week 28?

I think so.

Yeah, we are on week 28 of this.

And um let's just continue on our journey, but let's pray first.

Father, thank you for your word.

According to Acts 242, your word is received gladly.

According to Acts 19.20, your word will prevail.

I pray, Father God, that as we hear your word today, we're encouraged, we're convicted, we're built up, Father.

You're speaking to our hearts, our minds, our soul, our body.

All of us is taking in your word.

And I pray, Father God, that as we do so, Lord, we see, Father God, the the seed of your word, Father, bearing fruit in us, Father, bearing fruit through us, Father God.

And I pray now that we are not, Father, distracted, and we're not hindered by it.

I ask you, Lord, that we continue to receive it, Father God, with an open heart, an open mind, open eye, open ears, open eyes, not blinded by the lies of this world, but Lord, with a total openness to you and what you'd have to say, we receive it today.

So I pray, Father, according to Matthew 10.20, as I stand here, Father, the Spirit of the Lord speak through me.

I thank you, Lord, according to John 3.30.

I will decrease, you will increase, Lord.

Use these lips of clay to speak your word without error and with excellence according to your desire.

For you gather to hear the truth of your word and not the opinion of man.

And for all the Cowboys fans for their game tonight, Father God.

Just help them, Lord, in Jesus' name.

Amen.

All right.

I'm not even gonna pray for my team.

I feel y'all are the ones that need all the prayer.

Why don't you compliment your neighbor real quick?

Tell them something nice, tell your neighbor you look good today.

Tell your neighbor I like your shoes, like your hair.

Let them know I see you today.

Such a person Verse 8, such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

What is double-mindedness?

First of all, it's it's an ugly word.

I think just three this kind of saying it sounds ugly.

Double-mindedness.

What is what is double-mindedness?

Let me show you our Greek definition, pulling from scripture what double-mindedness is.

So, next slide.

It's two-minded.

Two, obviously, double.

Or, very, very important for our our talk, or two souled, two soul, a two-souled person, then one who is split in half internally, then one uh uncertain, doubting, or wavering between two opinions, loyalties, or ways of life.

I know there's a lot going on there, but it's very simple to kind of see.

It's not complicated.

Two-souled, one who is split in half internally, so internally there's a divide.

You're an uncertain, you're doubting, you're a wavering person because of opinions.

Your loyalties are divided, your ways of life are divided.

There's two ways of life for you.

That's the the double-minded person.

Now, let me try to just break this down a little and it'll kind of help us with the the rest of what we're talking about.

Two souled.

I want to remind you of what a soul is.

So, next slide.

Soul is your mind, your will, and your emotions.

I've talked about this throughout this series.

So it's your mind, your will, and your emotions.

Your mind, your thoughts, your beliefs, the processes of the things that come into your head, your will, your choices, your decisions, your emotions, your feelings.

Your emotions, your feelings, anger, happiness, sad, glad, like just your emotions.

Now, two souled is one of our definitions.

I'll go slow here.

But if the double-minded person is two souled, then he or she has two of each.

Not one, two.

The double-minded person has two minds, two wills, two emotions.

The double-minded person, or another way I could say it, is I'll say it like this: a divided soul.

A divided soul, two-souled, right?

You have one whole, but let's cut that in half.

We got two now.

The divided soul, the the two-souled person has, hear me, two conflicting mindsets processing thoughts and beliefs.

It has two conflicting wills that produce decisions.

The double-minded person has two conflicting sets of emotions that dictate their demeanor and their mood.

They're just double, just double of everything.

Two mindsets, two wills, two two two sets of emotions.

That's the double-minded person, the person with a divided soul.

And I know that may sound a little weird, but it actually is pretty simple.

And I'll try to kind of show you a little bit like this.

Well, first let me let me put this out there.

Y'all ever heard the words that's food for my soul?

I think he has a book on it.

I think a book that says food for my soul.

There's food for my soul.

Um, well, I find it funny because according to James here, a double-minded person is a two-souled person.

So I laugh a little because I think to myself, if you have two souls, you're going to end up feeding both souls.

And that gets a little tricky.

And just to kind of have some fun a little bit, can I have that table, brother?

Come here, and we'll put it the table right here on the carpet, not on the stage.

We'll put it right here.

On this the carpet there, please.

And I'm sorry, Prudy, my man.

I gotta get here and I gotta get here.

And Prudy, I don't want to make things awkward.

Okay, we're good, we're good, we're good.

Yeah.

Now I got now I got your attention, right?

Okay.

Can everyone see?

You got a two-souled person.

And the soul, each soul, each soul is is gonna be fed.

You're gonna feed both.

Because uh the soul's gotta eat.

Now.

I have two cookie jars.

Who's team Oreo?

Team Oreo, yeah.

You're losers.

Alright.

Who's Team Chips Ahoy?

That's what I'm talking about.

And the and the chewy kind.

The only kind.

My wife gets mad when I buy the chewy kind.

The chewy kind.

So here's the thing.

A two-souled person, a divided, double-minded person, a person with a divided soul.

These cookie jars are way too big for this example, but has two souls, and both of them are gonna be fed.

I want you to kind of see our layout here.

And it's a pretty simple thought.

It's like this.

You're gonna eat, but your two souls, what are they gonna eat?

Because here's the issue with the double-minded person.

I'll say it like this.

And just we're going somewhere, I promise.

Like, we're going somewhere, okay?

Listen.

I'll put it to you simply.

A double-minded person has a little bit of God and a little bit of the world.

God and you know, here, world here, two souls, a divided soul, each soul eating.

And I tell you, this is what your souls look like.

One hand here, and one hand here.

You have two hands, and each of them are in a cookie jar.

Now, I'll be the first to admit I could go with either cookie jar.

Oreos, I'm game.

Chips Ahoy, even more game.

I enjoy both.

I like both.

And you best believe if you weren't here today, both these cookie jars would be empty in about 10 minutes.

That's just the way it goes.

But you know what's funny for the double-minded person?

A little bit of the culture and a little bit of Christ, and they want their hands in both cookie jars.

Because why?

Because two souls gotta eat.

And the two souls don't necessarily want the same thing.

But the part of your soul that says, Well, I want Oreos.

The other says, Well, I want Chipsohoy.

Well, let's go ahead and have both.

Okay.

Little bit of God, little bit of the world.

Why not go ahead and take in from both?

So two hands and two cookie jars.

And I tell you today, it looks kind of strange, but here's the funny thing.

Like me, you can enjoy both cookie jars.

You can enjoy a little bit of the world, and of course, you can enjoy a little bit of God.

You can enjoy looking at things that you shouldn't be looking at, and you can enjoy coming to church and lifting up your hands.

You can enjoy listening to things that are really not beneficial to your soul, and you can enjoy coming to church and hearing the word.

You can enjoy podcasts that are full of trash and ugly things, and you can enjoy sermons that are blessing your heart and lifting you up.

It's like 50% culture, 50% Christ.

And you know in yourself, man, I just really want all of God.

But the double-minded person says, let's have a little of both.

Two hands and two cookie jars, and best believe the soul is like, hmm.

Give me a minute.

No volunteer today.

Oh yeah, oh yeah.

That's pretty good, do not pretty good do.

You know what?

There's plenty of cookies for my souls.

Not soul, souls.

I'll say it like this, to be honest with you.

The double-minded person is a well-fed person.

Alright.

Little bit of the world, little bit of God, culture, Christ.

Just a little bit.

And I tell you today, put on the board, double-mindedness is not a result of lack, it's actually a result of indulgence.

We're not lacking here.

I have enough here.

Two soul person, two cookie jars.

Let's let's have a good time.

Like, I'm good.

I'm not lacking.

I I can indulge here.

When you're double-minded, listen, you're actually letting everything in.

You're letting many things, hear me, take root in your hearts.

You are receiving from everywhere, and you're taking in everything offered.

You have information from both sides coming in.

I take it in from this year, and I take some in from this year.

I take some in from this side, I take some in from this side.

Again, you have your hands in both cookie jars, taking in from both sides, and you're not lacking, you're indulging, you're enjoying.

You actually, a double-minded person says, I'm good like this, I'm fine, I have enough, you're well fed, and there's a problem there.

Listen, you you let what culture says in, you let what Christ says in.

I'll break it down for you a little bit more simpler.

I get all my TikTok therapy in, and then I'm gonna go hear my pastor on Sunday.

All my Tic Tac advice, that's what I really call it TikTok, I call it Tic Tac.

All my Tic Tac advice here, and let me get some spiritual counsel here.

Double-minded, not careful.

You're taking in from both sides.

TV and the Bible.

Catch it up, binge watching everything I can.

And don't forget to get my word in.

Binge watching, things I don't know if are good for me.

Don't forget, I gotta get some scripture in.

Two souled, divided, leads to double-mindedness.

The news.

Did you hear what they said?

Did you hear what's going on?

Did you hear what the reports were?

And then your pastor here trying to remind you the greatest report is the report of the Lord.

Like, but they said this and they said that, and oh my god, I'm so worried and I'm so scared.

Gas prices can't go so high, and it's gonna get worse.

And go buy all the toilet paper you can get.

But then your pastor's here reminding you the Lord provides, the Lord meets our needs, the Lord will take care of us.

Boom, this side, that side, you're taking it all in.

It's all entering your heart, and you're not being wise about what should settle and what needs to go.

It's the double-mindedness that we we don't even realize it, but we find ourselves begin to get a little more comfortable in the double-mindedness of life, and and too many things take root in our heart, too many things take root inside of us again, little bit of the world, little bit of God, and it's all being buried within us, it's all take uh finding itself a home in our hearts, and what's the result?

Double-mindedness, and let me show you the definition again of double-mindedness.

What is a little bit of culture and a little bit of Christ?

Little bit of the world, little bit of God, little bit of tic tac, little bit of uh of worship, little bit uh of the news, little bit of my pastures.

What's what's the result right here?

One who is split in half internally, one who becomes uncertain, doubting, or wavering between two opinions, loyalties or ways of life.

Why?

Because there's been two souls, two minds, two wills, two emotions that are indulging, that are enjoying, that are receiving and taking it in.

And now internally, there's a battle going on.

Internally, there's a fight going on.

What are you gonna believe?

What are you gonna listen to?

What's gonna dominate?

What are you gonna walk according to?

What are you gonna live according to?

What are you gonna believe?

All of a sudden that battle takes place within us.

And I tell you today, church, we have to be careful because we can all fall into this place of double-mindedness.

Maybe not in every area, but certain areas of our life.

This is the way you should be a wife, this is the way you should be a husband, this is the way you should be an employee, this is the way you should be an employee, this is the way you should raise your kids.

No, this is the way you should raise your kids.

Hear me.

The world will always offer another way of doing things apart from God's way.

The world will always offer another idea, another system, a different principle.

The world will always present to you, hey, what about this?

Try this.

And hear me.

We let enough junk come into our lives, we will find ourselves in a battle inside of us, and you will start realizing there might be some double-mindedness in some areas of my life.

We're all guilty of it.

We can all fall prey to it.

Say amen to that.

Look at your neighbor and tell your neighbor, especially you.

And why why is this such a why is this such a topic?

Why is this something we need to be watchful of?

Why is this something we need to be careful about?

Well, look what James said.

What will double-mindedness do to us?

Next slide.

Double-mindedness will lead to instability.

We become unstable.

We read earlier in the passage if you're lacking wisdom, ask God.

That's a faith mindset.

If I'm lacking, ask God.

But then James says, but the one who doubts will receive nothing.

That's the double mindedness.

That's the instability.

Listen, listen, listen.

I have enough faith to ask God, but there's still enough doubt in.

Me to question him tomorrow.

I have enough faith to go to God today, but there's some doubt in me that tomorrow I'll be asking myself, God, can you really do it?

That's the double-mindedness.

That's the instability.

And by the way, you can even go beyond just faith and doubt.

Listen, the instability, it could even be love today and hate tomorrow.

When I use pastored, I'll tell you the most harshest of the group of kids I dealt with.

They were the harshest, they were the meanest, they were the toughest, they were the most unpredictable, they were the ones who made me cry sometimes.

Any of y'all have junior high girls right now, just lay your hand on them.

Lord bless them.

And yes, we're still praying for all of you.

Come out of it.

I kid you not.

I'd see these girls one week at our youth service.

And they're there.

You know, you were there.

You were there.

You were one, you were there.

She helped me in youth ministry.

You were there.

What's wrong?

They just were acting in such a way and did such a thing, and I can't believe it.

Oh my god.

And then my friends at school were doing this and doing that.

And I'm like, oh, you want to pray about it?

Not really.

And then I'd see them next week.

I'd see them the following week.

Hey, this is my friend.

This is my friend.

My friend Britney.

Oh, hey Britney, how are you?

Oh my god, we're we're just best friends.

That's the Britney she was talking about last week.

Girls were tough, man.

I mean, tough.

I mean, make me question my calling as youth pastor many times.

I get just emotional and just everywhere a lot of times.

And again, if you're in here that age range, I love you.

I'm not trying to give you a hard time.

I'm just really much very much praying for you.

A lot going on in life.

But I look at junior high girls, but let's be honest.

Look at them and see what they battle, but adults battle that too.

I can't stand my brother.

Can't stand.

I don't even mean the church.

I mean actual brother, actual sister.

I can't stand that.

I can't only lie.

And then a week later, oh my god, what happened?

Are you okay?

You were just bad mouthing them last week.

Love today, hate tomorrow.

Double-mindedness.

Instability.

It can even compassion today, scrutiny tomorrow.

You see the one who their life's a mess, and you think, man, they really need Jesus.

How can we help them today?

But then for whatever reason, tomorrow, you're like, man, get your life together.

Don't look at me, funny.

Patience today and annoyance tomorrow.

I hate, I'll use that word, hate.

I hate driving down.

You ever go to Walmart or any major store, and you have to drive like in front of all the stores where people are crossing, and like they hold up traffic because they just think, you know, the world's their oyster, and they can take as long as they want.

And it's like, like, okay, you want to speed it up a little bit, you know what I mean?

But kid you not, this happened to me.

I caught myself.

There was like this, I don't know, 80, 90-year-old lady crossing, and I was like, oh, I literally said this, man, good for her.

Look at her out shopping by herself.

Good for her.

That's really cool.

I kid you not.

I then like when I was leaving the store, I'm gonna say thing, some old man, again, maybe 89 years old, taking his sweet time.

And I was like, hurry up, old man! And the people of God say, Amen.

And some of you are laughing because you know you've done it.

You know you've done it.

Hurry, go, let's let's move.

We're pointing fingers on this side over here.

Alright.

Instability.

Compassion today, scrutiny tomorrow, uh, love today, hatred tomorrow, uh, a patience today, annoyance tomorrow.

How about this one last one?

God's will today, mine tomorrow.

Amen.

God, you lead me, you guide me, God, and you led me to pray for this person today, God, you led me to reach out to this person today.

Thank you for helping me with all of it.

And then for whatever reason, we just wake up the next morning thinking, God, I don't want anything to do with anybody today.

Or God, just this is my idea, my plans today.

I don't even have time to ask you today, God, what do you think?

The instability, the double-mindedness.

We can we all battle, we all go through it.

Little bit of culture, a little bit of Christ, a little bit of the world, a little bit of God.

Because all that's, we're taking everything in, we're bringing everything in, and if we're not careful, things take root in our hearts.

And trust me, what takes root in our heart will eventually show itself.

Listen to how a person speaks shows how their heart is.

Listen to what they do, listen to what they act, it reveals a little bit of their heart.

Everything will eventually come out, and I'm telling you today, we have to be careful of what we are indulging in, and if there's any sign of double-mindedness in our life, in the name of Jesus, we gotta get rid of this.

Hear me.

Put on the board.

The indulgence of double-mindedness leads to a life pulled in two different directions.

Instability.

Today I feel like loving, tomorrow I don't feel like loving.

Today I'm gonna be patient, tomorrow I'm a little more annoyed.

It's that instability of life.

Because maybe, hear me, just maybe you're annoyed with that man walking across the street today, but okay with it tomorrow.

Maybe, maybe it's just a little bit of too much in our hearts.

A little bit of each.

A little bit of this, a little bit of that within us.

Or we can easily love this person, but for some reason, I can't stand that person.

We're all guilty.

And I think to myself, the instability, how how it creeps up in our life and how it can reveal itself in so many ways.

But listen, but it's not even just instability.

Can I throw one more at you and we'll get ready to wrap this up?

I submit to you, side note, but we'll go on a tangent here for a moment, that double-mindedness even leads to being morally unreliable.

It leads to a person being morally unreliable.

Remember our Greek definition: a double-minded person is two-souled.

They have a divided soul, a two-soul person.

And hear me.

If you have two souls, two minds, two wills, two emotions, it's like you have two different lives.

It's it's literally like a person with two different lives, two different ways of living, two different loyalties.

I like to think of it like this it's like you're a double agent.

You ever seen movies with double agents?

It's like you're a double agent.

Why?

Because listen, a double agent has information coming in from this side, and the double agent has the information coming in from this side.

And hear me, he has to live out both informations coming in.

He has to live out both sides that are coming in.

What does that lead to?

Divided loyalty.

Who are you gonna be today?

How are you gonna act today?

What are you gonna do today?

How who's this person gonna be in this moment, in that moment?

It's divided loyalty, a double agent.

You are more, you become morally unreliable.

A double-minded person put on the board is attempting to live with two sources of truth within that are competing with one another.

I have too much coming in, too much taking root, too much being allowed inside my heart.

Little bit of God, a little bit of the world, a little bit of Christ, a little bit of culture.

It's just all coming in.

And next thing you know, put on the board, there is no absolute settled direction for life.

Morally unreliable.

You there's there's really, listen, I'll say like this.

You have real true no, you don't really have a true moral code.

You don't really have a true list or commands of life that you know these are right, I need to live by.

No, you're unreliable.

This way today, that way tomorrow.

This decision today, this decision tomorrow.

It just becomes a way of life.

A way of life that we're called to be aware of.

And if it's taking place in our life, get rid of it.

And this isn't anything weird.

Look at me.

The Bible, we see signs of this.

1 Kings 18 20.

Listen, the people of Israel are here.

So Ahab summoned all the people and the prophets to Mount Carmel.

This is, I'm sorry, this is Elijah coming to Mount Carmel.

Then Elijah talked to them.

Listen what he tells them.

How long are you going to waver between two opinions?

If the Lord is God, follow him.

If Bel is God, follow him.

Make a decision, Israel.

Make a decision, people.

Make a decision.

Who is your God?

Decide today.

Hear me.

Israel wasn't lacking options.

Israel wasn't like, well, where's the God we can serve?

No, they had two in front of them.

Make a decision.

Who are you gonna serve?

Because hear me, it can't be two gods.

They were attempting to accommodate God and Baal, God and the false idol.

Baal wants this, but God wants this.

Well, Baal says this, but God says this.

Who do I follow?

Who do I listen to?

Who is my faith in?

That's double-mindedness, that's instability.

Make a choice.

Matthew 6 24.

No one, say no one, can serve two masters.

For either he will hate one and love the other, or he'll be devoted to the one and despise the other.

Put it next slide.

You cannot serve God and mammon.

That is, hear me.

You cannot serve God and deceitful riches.

You cannot serve God and money.

You cannot serve God and possessions.

You cannot serve God and fame.

You cannot serve God and status.

You cannot serve God or whatever else is trusted in or valued more than the Lord.

You cannot serve both.

You cannot serve two masters because it results in divided loyalty.

I can't hear me.

I can't decide today.

I'm gonna be a follower of Jesus and do everything Jesus wants.

But then tomorrow, remember, morally unreliable, but tomorrow, you know what?

I really need some money, so maybe I gotta go do this and this instead.

You know what?

I really want to get in good with the boss, so maybe I gotta do this instead.

You know what?

I don't want to look like the weird one, so I think I'll just do this instead.

I I I don't I don't want to seem like the oddball, but so I think I'm just gonna try to, how about this?

Blend in a little bit.

Two masters.

You'll serve one and hate the other.

You'd be devoted to one or just and despise the other.

We have to be aware of these moments in life that could reveal double-mindedness.

Because you find yourself in one moment, Jesus, whatever you want, my heart's dedicated to you.

And the next moment, man, I got around the old boys today, we just acted like old boys.

And that's the double-mindedness and the moral unreliability, it's the instability.

And church, I tell you today, that is not how we're called to live.

I said, that is not how we're called to live.

Say amen to that.

We're not called to live like that in such a manner.

I remind you, Habakkuk 2.4, as we close.

Look at the proud.

They trust in themselves and their lives are crooked.

But the righteous will live by faith, will live that, but the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God.

Say amen to that.

2 Corinthians 5.7.

For we walk by faith and not by sight.

Say amen to that.

Church, we are called to live with the faith in us, and this faith in God within us.

That faith determines our actions and determines our path for life.

Church, with this faith in us, a faith in God and Him alone, a faith in Christ and Him alone, of faith in our Savior and Him alone, of faith in the ways of God and those ways alone, a faith in what God has said and that way alone.

Church, with this faith, we serve, we follow, we speak, we do, we worship, we seek, we praise, we help.

With this faith within us, we live our life and we don't do it with instability, and we don't do it double-minded.

We live with our faith settled in God Almighty.

We live with our faith secure in God Almighty.

We live with a faith that will not waver or be shaken, but we have made our mind up, we've drawn the line in the sand.

I will follow Christ and Him alone shall I serve.

That is the calling of our life to live by faith.

Say amen to that.

Be the person that people are shocked when you do something you wouldn't normally do.

Be the person who is who is living for God in such a way that when you do something outside of your character, they're like, Are you alright?

Are you okay?

Yeah, I'm fine.

Oh, you usually don't talk like that.

Well, usually don't act like that.

That usually that's that's not you.

I've been told that in my life, or that that's not really you.

Well, you know what?

Maybe I got out of character for a moment.

That's not the faith I'm supposed to live by.

And in the name of Jesus, we're gonna get some stability here in my life.

Because hear me, I tell you today, when you act like that person who's been serving God and following the Lord, you convict other people around you, you get the attention of other people around you.

Other people see something different about you.

And hear me, that's a good thing, not because you can brag about you, but because you can point them to Jesus Christ, the one that they need more than anything.

Man, you you almost cuss there.

I know, man, I'm human, but thank you, God, it's under the blood in Jesus' name.

Man, you really let them have it.

I know I messed up.

I need to go ask forgiveness and say sorry to God, and he will forgive me.

And this God that forgives me can forgive you too as well of everything going on in your life.

Man, you really are kind of a little off today.

I know I had a rough night, I had a long night, but in the name of Jesus, it's gonna get back on track.

We're gonna do well, and I'm gonna keep serving God because I am not judging you.

And if you want to judge me, go ahead and judge me.

But all I know is this I gotta live for the Lord God Almighty.

Let's get this thing back on track.

Church, there's a faith within you that says, let's keep following the Lord God Almighty.

By this faith we walk.

Did you know part of this definition of uh a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways?

It's talking about you walk, hear me.

You walk like a drunk person.

Now, some of y'all probably got some flashbacks from over there.

It's under the blood saying that.

But you ever seen that that person that's had a little too much try to walk a little bit?

I've never done it, so I might be a little bad at it, but you know.

A little, little, like don't tell me I've had enough.

I've had more than enough.

Unstable.

Some of y'all really did get some flashbacks.

Little, little.

Come on, man.

I'm going, don't rush me.

Unstable.

Do you expect a man or woman of God to be walking like we walk by faith and not by sight.

That means you walk with power, you walk with anointing, you walk with direction, you walk with help, you walk with strength, you walk with courage, you walk with boldness, you walk with the Holy Spirit inside of you, you walk by faith.

There's no doubt in you, there's a faith in you that you are secure.

Your life is in Christ.

No matter what the world says, I'm living for God Almighty.

I follow him, I serve him, I bow to him, I worship him.

That faith is walking day by day with strength.

And even when the steps get hard, it is Christ who helps me keep walking, it is Christ who helps me keep moving.

And today I tell you, no matter who you are, hey man, you've been stumbling around and bumbling around and fumbling around, battling doubt, battling hatred.

Let's get it out of our lives and let's start walking like children of God every single day.

One last one.

The Bible even says there is a narrow road and there is a broad road.

And you better decide which road you want to get on.

You better decide which road you want to put your feet on.

Some of you want two roads.

You can't walk on the narrow road and the broad and the broad road at the same time.

You gotta pick a road here, pick a lane here, pick a choice here.

You wanna hop over to one road and then hop over to another road.

Eventually you're gonna fall in between, and there's only one way down.

Hell.

I tell you today as we close, you pick the right road.

You pick one road, you pick the narrow road.

Hear me, and you walk down that road.

You walk down that road.

You walk down that road, and you walk down that road by faith.

One road.

One road.

With a single mind.

You walk down one road that has a faith set on one Lord, one Savior, one King, Jesus Christ.

So in the name of Jesus, lift up your hands today.

Father, I pray we get the double-mindedness out.

Worship team come up.

I pray today that we begin to execute every area of double-mindedness in our life.

Father, all of us here, I believe there's an area where we're battling that double-mindedness.

We're battling the one way of doing today, but a different way of doing tomorrow.

Maybe for some it's in their marriage.

Maybe in some it's the way they're handling their kids.

Maybe in some it's the way they're handling the family situation.

Maybe some today are here, Father, saying, Pastor, hear me, I hear you.

Close your eyes, I've been praying with praying for you.

Listen.

Pastor, I have some good days.

But if I'm being honest, the bad days are piling up.

The hard days are piling up.

The tough days are piling up.

I find myself so glad and joyful one day, but the next day, I'm beating myself up.

I'm down.

I feel like it's just me by myself.

Father, I pray today in Jesus' name.

The double-mindedness.

The fear that wants to overcome the faith.

The doubt that wants to overcome the belief.

The hatred that wants to defeat the love.

The will of my own that wants to go against the will of God.

Today, in Jesus' name, Father, I ask you.

Help us defeat every area of double-mindedness in our life.

Help us defeat every area, Father, where we can recognize it and we see it.

I don't know why.

Just keep your hands up.

I pray for high school students today, junior high kids today.

You want to talk about battling moments, following God and following the world.

They have to walk through hallways, walk into classrooms, college kids, walk into professors' classrooms and challenged, maybe even made fun of, talked about.

Young man, young woman, today I declare you have the power of God inside of you.

You will overcome every lie of the enemy.

And today I say, young man, young woman, you walk on that narrow road with strength and power and anointing.

In the name of Jesus, for every person present today, Father, you will help identify every area of the double-mindedness.

And next week we'll talk about how we get how we execute a plan to fight it.

But today, I remind you, before we leave, today I tell you, it is possible to overcome it with the help of the Holy Spirit.

I will not serve Baal, I serve God and God alone.

I will not serve money, fame, or riches.

I serve the Lord God and Him alone.

Today the decision has been made.

My faith is in the Lord God Almighty, and to him be all the honor and glory.
