  1. Second Thessalonians, Second Thessalonians One Paul, Sylvanus and Timothy to

  2. the Church of the Thessalonians. In God our Father in

  3. the Lord Jesus Christ, grace to you and peace from

  4. God our Father in the Lord Jesus Christ.

  5. We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers,

  6. as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly and

  7. the love of every one of you for one another

  8. is increasing. Therefore, we ourselves boast about you in the

  9. Churches of God for your steadfastness and faith in all

  10. your persecutions and in the afflictions that you are enduring.

  11. This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that

  12. you may be considered worthy of the Kingdom of God,

  13. for which you are also suffering, since indeed God considers

  14. it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you,

  15. and to grant relief to you who are afflicted, as

  16. well as to us. When the Lord Jesus is revealed

  17. from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting

  18. vengeance on those who do not know God and on

  19. those who do not obey the Gospel of our Lord Jesus,

  20. they will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from

  21. the presence of the Lord and from the glory of

  22. his might when he comes on that day, to be

  23. glorified in his saints and to be marveled at among

  24. all who have believed. Because our testimony to you was believed.

  25. To this end. We always pray for you that Our

  26. God may make you worthy of his calling, and may

  27. fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith

  28. by his power, so that the name of our Lord

  29. Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in Him,

  30. according to the grace of our God and the Lord

  31. Jesus Christ.

  32. Second Thessalonians two. Now, concerning the coming of our Lord

  33. Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we

  34. ask you brothers not to be quickly shaken in mind

  35. or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word,

  36. or a letter seeming to be from us, to the

  37. effect that the day of the Lord has come.

  38. Let no one deceive you in any way, for that

  39. day will not come unless the rebellion comes first, and

  40. the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,

  41. who opposes and exalts himself against every so called God

  42. or object of worship, so that he takes his seat

  43. in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.

  44. Do you not remember that when I was still with you,

  45. I told you these things. And you know what is

  46. restraining him now, so that he may be revealed in

  47. his time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work.

  48. Only he who now restrains it will do so until

  49. he is out of the way, and then the lawless

  50. one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill

  51. with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing

  52. by the appearance of his coming. The coming of the

  53. lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all

  54. power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked

  55. deception for those who are perishing because they refuse to

  56. love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends

  57. them a strong delusion so that they may believe what

  58. is false, in order that all may be condemned who

  59. did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

  60. But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers,

  61. beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the

  62. first fruits to be saved through sanctification by the spirit

  63. and belief in the truth. To this he called you

  64. through our gospel, so that you may obtain the glory

  65. of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  66. So, then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions

  67. that you were taught by us, either by our spoken

  68. word or by our letter. Now, may our Lord Jesus

  69. Christ himself and God, our Father, who loved us and

  70. gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort

  71. your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.

  72. Second Thessalonians three.

  73. Finally, brothers, pray for us that the word of the

  74. Lord may speed ahead and be honored. Has happened among you,

  75. and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men.

  76. For not all have faith, but the Lord is faithful.

  77. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.

  78. And we have confidence in the Lord about you that

  79. you are doing and will do the things that we command.

  80. May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of

  81. God and to the steadfastness of Christ.

  82. Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our

  83. Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from any brother

  84. who is walking in idleness and not in accord with

  85. the tradition that you received from us. For you yourselves

  86. know how you ought to imitate us, Because we were

  87. not idly when we were with you, nor did we

  88. eat anyone's bread without paying for it. But with toil

  89. and labor, we worked night and day that we might

  90. not be a burden to any of you. It was

  91. not because we do not have that right, but to

  92. give you in ourselves an example to imitate. Even when

  93. we were with you, we would give you this command.

  94. If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat,

  95. For we hear that some among you walk in idleness,

  96. not busy at work, but busy bodies. Now such persons

  97. we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to

  98. do their work quietly and to earn their own living.

  99. As for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good.

  100. If anyone does not obey what we say in this letter,

  101. take note of that person, and have nothing to do

  102. with him, that he may be ashamed. Do not regard

  103. him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother.

  104. Now, may the Lord of Peace himself give you peace

  105. at all times. In every way. The Lord be with

  106. you all I Paul write this greeting with my own hand.

  107. This is the sign of genuineness in every letter of mine.

  108. It is the way I write. The grace of our

  109. Lord Jesus Christ be with you all
