-
Allow me to go straight into my meditation tonight.
-
My name is Robert, and I'm born again.
-
Always a joy and a pleasure to fellowship and to share God's word.
-
We are in the month of the liberating power of the kingdom, new creation connected, and definitely also in the season of Jubilee, where we are saying the future starts now.
-
So I hope your future has already started, even after the revival season and after the Jubilee season.
-
But I would want to just anchor my meditation tonight on the liberating power of the kingdom, share a few thoughts even on the new creation connected, and then see how we can get out of this service, having had our minds renewed, and you know, an upgrading of our entire system to the mindset of the kingdom.
-
Genesis chapter 1, we know this story, and this is the story of God creating Adam.
Genesis 1 chapter mention
-
And God's design is captured in that whole chapter of Genesis chapter 1.
Genesis 1 chapter mention
-
But the key point is that verse that says, Be fruitful and multiply, have dominion and rule over the earth.
-
And for me, I want to just make a few thoughts on that component of having dominion, because God's original intention was that we would be an extension of the kingdom of heaven.
-
And Jesus, again in the New Testament, teaching the Lord's Prayer, says, Your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
-
And as we start this subject tonight of the liberating power of the kingdom, we have to first of all ask ourselves: Are we extensions of the kingdom of God?
-
Are we doing anything that is actually evidence that we are extension of the kingdom of God here on earth?
-
One of the exciting things that is captured in that book of Genesis is when Adam was created, and God's first mandate to Adam was actually that he should name all the animals.
-
And that story ends by saying that everything that Adam called became.
-
Remember, he was not just naming the animals.
-
Whatever he called the animal was actually determining the character and the nature of that animal.
-
So after God has created him, the man immediately starts also multiplying the life of God to the rest of the creation.
-
Anyway, tragically, we have the fall of man, that is a few chapters after the story of creation.
-
And the fall of man is the devil's attempt to try and move us from this original assignment, which is a kingdom assignment and a kingdom mandate.
-
And there are many scriptures that I could quote that proof evidence of God's desire that we would operate here on earth.
-
Remember the Bible says that we are on earth, but we are we are on in the world, but we are not of the world.
-
So even if we are here on earth, we do not act and we do not live our lives as if we are of the world.
-
The Bible, in some portion of scripture, says that God desires that the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord as water covers the sea.
-
And at the end of tonight's sermon, our hope is that each one of us will make a contribution in bringing the glory of God here on earth, because that is God's desire.
-
Again, in the New Testament, is that the creation is eagerly waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God.
-
So everything around us, every other creation is actually waiting that all of us could arise and live in this mandate of the liberating power of the kingdom.
-
Because if this power will be used and if we are going to extend the kingdom of God, it is going to liberate the whole world and the entire creation.
-
So the spanner in the works is actually that we have another kingdom that also seeks to reign over the earth, and that is what introduces the contention.
-
That we have the kingdom of God, that Jesus is telling us to pray and say, Thy kingdom come, but there is also another kingdom that is in contention with the kingdom of God here on earth.
-
And therefore, we have sort of a battle that is inside of us, and and we live through this battle all our lives.
-
Because inside man is a fallen nature, but this fallen nature is not the end of the story.
-
It is that we have also been redeemed through Christ, and we have been reconciled unto God.
-
The Bible says in Revelation 5, verse 9 that we have been redeemed out of every tribe and every tongue, out of every nation and out of every people.
-
And that should give us hope in this congregation tonight because the fallen nature of man is not the end of the story.
-
And I know so many of us who the devil has kept you in that place where you fell, you made a mistake, you are disappointed, you are frustrated, but that's just a comma.
-
There is the next part of the story where we have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ, and then we have been reconciled unto God.
-
And what Jesus was attempting to do is to bring us back to the Garden of Eden, where Adam has been told in Genesis chapter 1, have dominion, be fruitful, multiply, have dominion.
Genesis 1 chapter mention
-
Somebody said that in this world you are either having dominion or you are either dominating or you are being dominated.
-
So tonight we have to put our lives on the weighing scale and ask ourselves: are we dominating or are we being dominated?
-
But the promise in Christ is that there is a new man in each and every one of us.
-
We have been redeemed, we have been reconciled unto God.
-
So can I therefore make my first submission that the liberating power of the kingdom is available for each and every one of us?
-
The liberating power that we are speaking about even in this month of September is actually available.
-
And we can connect and access this reality as the new creation.
-
And I love that even in this theme, we are speaking about the liberating power of the kingdom, but we are also speaking about how to connect to this liberating power.
-
Most of us might have had the frustration at home when one of your fuses or your breakers has broken.
-
You have power available, but you cannot be able to access that power.
-
And you're going to stay in darkness as much as the whole nation is powered.
-
But it is just because there is a breaker that is missing.
-
And that's the beauty of the new creation.
-
That power is available, but we need to plug into this power so that, and the way to connect to this power is through the new creation.
-
So the first gate of contention, remember, I have said that there is a contention, is that we the devil attempts that most of us will not enter the new creation reality.
-
I know I am speaking to most of us who are believers and we are born again, but let me just spend a few minutes on explaining why it is so hard to enter this new creation reality.
-
For the sake of some of us who are born again and maybe we have not lived through the entire benefit of salvation, and for the sake of us who might be in this congregation tonight and they are not born again.
-
The way our mind is programmed is that we have cause and effect.
-
And therefore, inherently and by default, our mind actually knows that every time you make a mistake, there is a consequence that is attached to it.
-
And we keep saying choices have consequences, even in our own lives.
-
And therefore, it becomes extremely difficult to actually believe that your sins can be paid by someone else.
-
And that's why, even if we are born again, we still live in the old bondage.
-
We still do not believe that this deal that looks too good to be true is actually true.
-
Secondly, we have also lived in a world where we have been disappointed by men, we have been frustrated, we have gone through different experiences.
-
And therefore, when anyone comes and attempts to say that we have a good, good father, your mind cannot perform it because you have been broken, you you know, you have been heartbroken before, you have been frustrated before.
-
And somebody said that psychologists believe that the human mind actually operates in a negative bias.
-
The human mind actually, by default, you operate in the negative more than the positive.
-
And I think the media people have understood this.
-
That's why they actually sell us more negative news than positive.
-
Because your mind is inherently in the negative bias.
-
Anyway, so much about that because they also say that it is because the human race has developed in a survival mode.
-
So if you go and read the story of psychology and why we operate in a negative bias, they say it is because early humans needed to spot threats like predators and poisonous food immediately so that they could stay alive.
-
And therefore, spotting danger became more important than noticing positive things.
-
And therefore, we have over time also become accustomed to it.
-
So what happens is when someone tries to come with a message of good news, your brain actually tells you it is an error.
-
If you think through today, you might have had nine people who have given you very positive compliments, but you have one person who told you something negative.
-
Which one are you likely to remember?
-
Most of us remember the one negative thing.
-
And therefore, even when you get home, you are eagerly waiting to meet your spouse or anyone else or a friend to call them.
-
Most of us, even when we call our friends, we actually tell them about the negative experience we had, even if we had nine out of ten positive experiences and one negative experience.
-
So then, as we talk about the new creation, we have to understand that part of the reason most of us have a struggle connecting is that the mind is already negatively wired, and therefore this thing looks too good that Christ died on the cross, that I didn't need, I don't need to do anything.
-
The Bible says, if you believe in your heart and then you confess with your mouth, then you receive salvation.
-
And most of us ask, is it that easy?
-
And then what happens to all the things I have done, the sins of my youth, and all those things.
-
So so there is that argument in our mind that we still feel like there is a punishment somewhere, you you're still waiting, you you know, your mind is imagining that God could still be somewhere with a hammer waiting to smash you.
-
And then remember that we wear the righteousness of Christ.
-
The Bible says that the law killeth, but the spirit brings life.
-
So again, even after we have gotten born again, we still cannot perform, that we will still continue receiving forgiveness.
-
And this salvation and work of faith is not dependent on our own physical acts.
-
So most of us get born again, but again, when you do a mistake, you feel like you backslid.
-
So we don't again agree that you can wear the righteousness of another man.
-
And the Bible says this righteousness has been imputed upon us.
-
So it is like a gown that we wear, just the same way that in our legal system, uh, you know, the lawyers and the judges will wear the gown.
-
And after wearing the gown, then they can be admitted into the court, so long as he has that gown.
-
And that is the same principle that is applicable even in our lives as we talk about the new creation.
-
So as we struggle through that thought, my prayer and my hope tonight is that we would come to the place that faith unlocks the new creation possibility.
-
That you can go home tonight realizing that this walk of salvation is not slavery.
-
It is not that God has called us into a life of suffering.
-
It is not that we have to live our lives like we are on eggshells.
-
It is a life of freedom.
-
And therefore, as we walk in obedience and respond in obedience to God, it is a response of love.
-
It is not a response of law.
-
It is not that we have a God who is waiting on how many mistakes you have made per day and so on.
-
It is a response of love.
-
Bonas if you so I was trying to bring us to the place of understanding why the difficulty in entering this possibility of the liberating power of the kingdom and and and the new creation, connecting through the new creation.
-
Remember that Jesus, the Bible says, was slain before the foundations of the world.
-
So you are not an afterthought in God's kingdom agenda.
-
He had actually made every provision for you.
-
That even before you were born, and the Bible says that he knew us even before we were formed in our mother's womb, it is that he had already made a provision for you, even through the slain Christ, before the foundations of the world.
-
You are not an afterthought.
-
David would ask, Who is man that you're so mindful of him, that you hear him when he calls?
-
He was also fascinated by this reality, by the fact that God so cares about man that he's even willing to be vulnerable as far as extending his love to humankind is concerned.
-
I I have done some bit of parenting, and I don't know about you, but I find it interesting that when children wake up every day, they work harder to annoy the parent than to make them happy, especially at an early age.
-
I don't know about you, but that has been my experience with two small girls that I have in the house.
-
They never feel like they are waking up every day to work so hard to please their father.
-
And I don't know why us in the kingdom you wake up every day feeling like you have an obligation to please the father.
-
And even if they end up pleasing me by not misbehaving, either way, there is an impact that still comes to your wallet, to your MPESA, to your bank account.
-
And I have never seen them calling for a meeting to discuss on whether they should ask for this thing from the parent or not.
-
So so so I find them living a very liberated life.
-
I find them living in freedom.
-
And and I expect or anticipate that that should be the same way that we live as believers.
-
You have a father.
-
You're not trying to prove that you are a child to your father.
-
Nobody can argue whether your children are your own or not.
-
The DNA will prove it itself.
-
So, why do you strive so hard and why do we wake up every day as believers feeling as if we are caged, feeling as if this new creation that we were called into, as if it is another form of slavery.
-
And could be it is for the reasons that we got born again and the people who ministered to us.
-
But tonight I just hope that we can get to the place of actually realizing that this new creation connected is a possibility and that it is a liberating possibility, and we are called to live a life of freedom.
-
So this new creation call gives us the relationship with our Father.
-
It is not based on the law because the law killeth.
-
It is based on our righteousness, it is not based on our righteousness.
-
The Bible says that the best of us, our own righteousness, is like filthy rags.
-
So I dare tell you tonight, stop even attempting to present yourself as a righteous person before God.
-
The best of you, the Bible summarizes it and calls it filthy rags.
-
And, you know, we went through the law of Moses and that whole dispensation of the law.
-
And the summary of it was none of us could be perfect enough to keep all the laws that were required.
-
And therefore the coming of Christ, so that we can wear the righteousness of Christ.
-
And I have mentioned that our response to live by the statutes and by the commands of God is a response of love, and it is not a legal obligation.
-
Allow me to get into the second thought that I wanted us to share so that then we can tie it up about now the reality of the liberating power in this kingdom.
-
So we have entered, and I hope all of us have entered, new creation connected.
-
So we have entered as the new creation, but the question is how then do we pull into this liberating power of the kingdom?
-
The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 2 10 that the same spirit that searches the deep things of God is in us.
-
And when we get born again, the Bible says we have been given the Holy Spirit as a guarantee.
-
So every one of us, if you're born again, the firmware that is running in your spirit, man, is actually the Holy Spirit.
-
So the Bible says the same spirit that is in you is the same spirit that searches the mind of God.
-
Tech people in our Middle East will actually confirm that for two devices to connect, then they should be running on the same firmware or on firmware that is compatible.
-
So the firmware that you are running on or the software that you are running on is the Holy Spirit.
-
And then that Holy Spirit connects you to the mind of God because that same Holy Spirit searches the things of God.
-
So can we therefore all agree that it is possible to get into the server, for lack of a better word, and actually capture the mind of God and download it on your computer.
-
IT people call it the local host or they call it the PC or the personal computer, but it is connected to another server.
-
So you might be here tonight and you have lived all your life feeling as if you're on your own, but you're supposed to be operating like a remote extension of another major server, and that is the mind of God.
-
And this mind of God we connect through the Holy Spirit.
-
And the Bible confirms that that is the same spirit that searches even the most deep things of God.
-
Go read that scripture in other versions because there are versions like the message version that is more elaborate, because it speaks about the very deep secrets, you know, deep knowledge of God, and this is the same spirit that we have.
-
And I want to ask us tonight, because you confirm with me that you have the Holy Spirit, and then you confirm with me that the Holy Spirit is able to connect you to the mind of God.
-
And the Bible again will say, Let this mind that was in Christ also be in you.
-
That's what the Bible says.
-
So I want us to go through a few scenarios in the Bible, and then we will be auditing ourselves and checking, would we have responded the same way that the men of God responded, or would we have responded differently to the various situations?
-
So tonight the question is what has the Holy Spirit inside of you searched about God in his word?
-
Because searching the thoughts and the mind of God is actually captured in his word.
-
And after searching, does it renew your mind?
-
For example, Genesis chapter 1.
Genesis 1 chapter mention
-
The Bible says the earth was formless and void, and the Holy Spirit was hovering over the deep.
-
Have you found yourself in a very formless situation?
-
Because in that situation, and maybe you are in one even tonight, what did God do?
-
What is the mind of God concerning a formless situation, and a void situation?
-
The Bible says, and God said, Let there be light.
-
And I want to ask us tonight: any formlessness or void in your life, what have you spoken?
-
Have you gone and started describing the darkness?
-
In Kiswahili, they say, Giza Totoro.
-
Have you started speaking and saying the way this situation is hopeless?
-
And then mark yourself against God.
-
Because if you have the mind of God, you should have spoken as God spoke.
-
And God in Genesis chapter 1 said, Let there be light.
Genesis 1 chapter mention
-
So as we speak about the liberating power of the kingdom, it is also that this power has to begin to flow in our situations.
-
So if you have any formlessness or void, if you have any emptiness in your life, if you have any confusion, because that Genesis chapter 1 is describing a state of confusion, tonight be upgraded in your software and say, Let there be light.
Genesis 1 chapter mention
-
Any situation around us that is negative, that is the liberating power of the kingdom.
-
Speak about the five loaves and two fish, and this is captured in the New Testament.
-
Because Jesus has had a congregation for a few days, and these people are extremely tired and hungry.
-
And then he's telling the disciples, is there something that we can give these disciples?
-
And the disciples quickly come together, like most of us will do in the boardrooms, you know, when there is an issue that has been raised by the leader.
-
And then they concluded it is not possible to feed these people.
-
And then they send Philip, who might have been the mathematician or statistician in their midst, who had done a proper budget and financial model.
-
And he came and told Jesus, one year worth of wages is not enough to feed these people.
-
Astonishingly, Jesus told them, make the people sit in groups of 50.
-
So every expert in that place and the disciples is saying, send the people away.
-
And I want to ask us tonight: have you found yourself in a situation where you have five loaves and two fish?
-
It could be your salary, it could be your budget in the office if you run a business, it could be how much money you are earning versus the needs in your family.
-
And every time that you are constrained, even in your finances and in your capital, do you have the temptation to send the people away?
-
Because that is usually the easiest solution.
-
You know, write an email, scale down, this cannot be done.
-
Move your kids from that school to another school.
-
Yet it is God who spoke even about you taking them to that school.
-
Do you have a default response of send the people away?
-
One year worth of my salary or one year worth of my income is not enough to solve this problem.
-
Or do you actually go ahead and like Jesus and tell the people to sit in groups of 50?
-
What has been your response?
-
Could you be here in our Middle East and you actually currently have such a scenario?
-
The thing is, don't send the people away.
-
Respond like Jesus would respond.
-
That is the kingdom mindset.
-
Are you in a storm and you're there like the disciples who are saying, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
-
That is the normal response of every man.
-
Any storm that you're in, the kingdom response is that you can speak to the storm.
-
The Bible says Jesus woke up and rebuked the storm.
-
So most of us find ourselves in the storms of life and we have never tried even to rebuke the storm.
-
You know, you would rather try and it doesn't come down.
-
By the time you're crying to Jesus, at least you tried.
-
But most of us don't even attempt to rebuke the storm.
-
Declare that you are an overcomer in that storm.
-
Declare that you will still find safety.
-
Declare that the boat cannot capsize because you have Christ in you who is the hope of glory.
-
That is the kingdom mindset and that is the liberating power of this kingdom.
-
Do you have an impossible situation like the situation of Lazarus?
-
And are you saying that the stone should even be sealed completely?
-
It is four days late.
-
Jesus has not come.
-
At that point, most of us, literally speaking, even if you visit the grave, you want to completely seal it so that there is no even smell coming from the grave.
-
But Jesus comes and instead of saying seal it completely, he is saying roll away the stone.
-
Would you have responded in such a way?
-
Do you have an impossible situation tonight?
-
Do you have a business that you're trying to pray about?
-
And God is still saying, hold on.
-
But you are saying, no, no, no, completely shut down this thing.
-
I want to even deregister from the KRA portal.
-
I want to forget completely that I ever had such a thing.
-
But Jesus is saying, roll away the stone and speak to that Lazarus.
-
Lazarus, come out.
-
That's what the Bible says.
-
Might you have fished the whole night like Peter?
-
And you're washing your nets and you are an expert in fishing.
-
And Jesus comes and tells you, try this one more time, because that's the kingdom response.
-
The kingdom response, I love a scripture that is in Micah 7:7 in the message version that says, As for me, I will not give up.
-
I will wait to see what God will do.
-
So I think in the morning, as Peter is washing the nets, he's a bit disappointed, frustrated, but something in his heart is still telling him there is still a possibility.
-
And that's why, even when Jesus tells him, cast your nets into the deep, that is against the principles of fishing, the experience of fishing.
-
You're not likely to catch anything during the morning hours.
-
But he says, I have fished the whole night, but at your word.
-
So tonight, even as we uh get to receive the word of God, it might be that you're in our middleist and you have fished the whole night, but the liberating power of the kingdom is telling you, you can try one more time.
-
The story of Elisha, even as I come to the conclusion of these examples, Elisha had been threatened by the king.
-
Because women are eating the children, there is a great famine in the land.
-
And some of us here might have been threatened, and you have been told you have 30 days or 60 days or 90 days to turn around the revenue or the profitability of that organization.
-
And Elisha had been told, if you cannot take care of this thing, then it is your head that we will eat first.
-
Before we eat the head of another child, it is your head.
-
Might you be here and you're a departmental head or a leader or you even run a business.
-
And there are situations right now telling you, if you do not turn around this thing in 60 days or in 90 days, we will chop off your head.
-
Look at Elisha's response.
-
Elisha does not start saying, Nilijuwa tu, what a nifuta, nilijuatu, even before they gave me this job, I knew it was a setup for failure.
-
Elisha says, Tomorrow at such a time as this.
-
That's the liberating power of the kingdom.
-
Did he consult God?
-
I am not sure.
-
There are prayers and declarations you make, and I and I keep saying this, I imagine that sometimes we make declarations and heaven angels are quickly called into a crisis meeting.
-
Because a man down here has overcommitted heaven.
-
Because Elisha has said tomorrow at such a time as this, but he has no idea how it will happen.
-
Anyway, he has used the name of God, so he has overcommitted him.
-
And and and angels have to be assigned.
-
There is an angel who has to go speak to the four-leppers and tell these for lepers, we I know you are about to die, but instead of dying here, why don't you go die in the camp of the enemies?
-
And then on the other side, you have to have another angel who will amplify the sound of their feet.
-
You have to have another angel that will confuse, uh, you know, and it was a mighty army.
-
So this is not an army that should just be confused by the steps of four lepers.
-
There has to be something that happened in heaven because Elisha has spoken the kingdom language.
-
He has said, Your kingdom come.
-
God, in your kingdom, there must be a way that you can turn around the economy of a nation in 24 hours.
-
And I don't know how many of us are constrained, but would you dare to speak the kingdom language?
-
Would you dare to say, God, your kingdom will come down in this situation?
-
Let me leave you with a better job of knowing how it will be done.
-
The Bible says, Aren't angels ministering spirits sent to those who will inherit salvation?
-
So it is possible that we can speak the kingdom language and the kingdom responds.
-
Remember, we are not our own, like I have said.
-
You might have done this life on your own, but you're not your own.
-
You actually belong to a kingdom.
-
That is the story of Elisha.
-
And I pray that any of us here who has been given those deadlines, that you will actually declare like Elisha.
-
Elijah sees a cloud the size of a feast.
-
We know that story after the contest at Mount Carmel.
-
And after seeing the cloud the size of a feast, you know, we are currently speaking about El Nino.
-
And the weatherman predicts based on what they can see in the physical.
-
So it must be that they are seeing somewhere clouds gathering or winds, heavy winds, and so on.
-
So I want to ask us tonight if you woke up today morning and the sky is extremely blue, and it is a sunny day, 40 degrees Celsius, and then on the horizon, you see a very small cloud.
-
The Bible says the size of a feast.
-
What is your likely prediction for the weather in that day?
-
Because every day we wake up, like personally, I wake up every morning, peep through the window, if I see a clear sky, it determines the dress code.
-
It means you don't even need to wear heavily.
-
Because we've already seen the clear sky.
-
Secondly, it has not rained for three years.
-
So the pattern is the same.
-
And some of us in this room are data analysts.
-
They do what we call predictive analytics.
-
So if there is a hundred percent chance that it has not rained for the last three years, and then you wake up today and there's a clear sky, but you can see a very small cloud, you're not likely to say that there will be a heavy downpour.
-
But the kingdom mindset that is in Elijah, he actually tells Gehazi, quickly run to the king and tell the king he needs to actually accelerate.
-
The king is riding in chariots, and I imagine that chariots are not very comfortable.
-
So if you make the king to jump up and down on that chariot, you better be sure that it is going to rain.
-
And I don't know who in our Mid East has seen that cloud that is the size of a feast.
-
Because God speaks to us through those signs.
-
And I don't know what is your response to that cloud that is the size of a feast.
-
Because there are many things we have prayed about, but God has given us a sign.
-
But we are waiting for the clouds to first of all fully gather so that we can engage faith.
-
And my charge to us tonight: if God has given you a sign, start declaring the kingdom language that there will be a heavy downpour of rain.
-
Let me conclude with the story of Joseph.
-
Because Joseph is wrongly accused by Potiphar and thrown into the prison.
-
And he's a righteous man, he had not committed the offense.
-
And I want to speak this because the kingdom, the liberating power of the kingdom, also helps us to know how to relate with God as a sovereign father.
-
If Joseph was any of us in this room, power packed, intercessor, that's why you came for the Wednesday service.
-
If the judgment is next week on Wednesday, you will actually take the seven days to pray and fast.
-
And you will be speaking and saying, This is the moment, God, for you to ashamed my enemies.
-
Arise, O God, against my enemies.
-
No weapon forged against me shall prosper.
-
I refute every tongue that rises against me in judgment.
-
And you have a lot of confidence because you're not guilty.
-
But I want to ask you, after the seven days and the day of judgment, you have actually been thrown into prison.
-
How do you recover?
-
How do you recover from such a thing?
-
How do you even face God?
-
Do you how do you even pray again?
-
Because you you know you had not committed the crime, but on the and and on the judgment day, you are looking at those enemies and you're saying, Potiphar, you will see dust today because of the way God will show himself mighty on my behalf, because I have not done this thing.
-
But Joseph went to prison, and the liberating power of the kingdom and the mindset, he got to the place where he said, God, I don't understand this thing.
-
But in your kingdom, I am actually aware that you are a rewarder of them that diligently seek you.
-
You are not a user, you are a blesser.
-
You are not a wicked father.
-
So even when it doesn't make sense to my physical mind, I will still choose to believe.
-
That's the kingdom mindset.
-
And I say this because sometimes we pray over things and we believe God and we are sure.
-
I don't know whether you've ever gone into an interview where you are sure the job is yours.
-
And then on the waiting bay, you actually find everybody else who came for that interview is not even a believer.
-
Ah, you even start smiling inside.
-
Because God is just about to show Himself mighty on your behalf, and then you don't get the job.
-
You have applied for a contract, for a project, for a tender.
-
If you realize that it didn't come as you anticipated, the kingdom mindset still allows you to say, I have a good, good father.
-
I may not know the reasons for this, but it doesn't have to make sense to me.
-
Possibly it could make sense in the future.
-
And that's exactly what happened even for Joseph.
-
And therefore, should you find yourself in prison, the kingdom mindset still tells you that even if you're in prison, you're not going to perish.
-
Remember, there are people who go to prison.
-
I think there is a story of the cupbearer and the other guy who is killed and so on.
-
If you're in prison and you're Joseph, you still need to remember that there is a kingdom mindset and a liberating power of the kingdom mindset, even in the prison.
-
So God doesn't promise us that we will not go through the prison.
-
He doesn't promise we will not go through the fire.
-
He doesn't promise that you will not be thrown into the lion's den.
-
What he promises is that you can still go in there with the liberating power of the kingdom.
-
Is that you can be thrown into the lion's den, but the same lions that have been, you know, slaying people, not even allowing people to touch the ground, can suddenly lose appetite.
-
And when you find a hungry lion has lost appetite, it is not just obvious.
-
It cannot be coincidence that you're lucky.
-
It has to be that there is a liberating power of the kingdom.
-
Find yourself being thrown into the fire like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, God has not, because most of us get offended and you know we do like Job's wife who said curse God and die.
-
But you need to understand that you can actually go through fire that has been made seven times hotter.
-
But because you have the liberating power of the kingdom, what God has promised is that you will come out of that fire.
-
In fact, there is a fourth man waiting for you in the fire because you belong to the kingdom.
-
The kingdom already has a representative in that fire.
-
And that's what Nebuchadnezzar is not able to understand.
-
So as we come to this conclusion, can we then all agree that any issue that we are feeling weighed down, frustrated, disappointed, that we just need to do a switch tonight.
-
That there is a mindset that can be programmed into our minds tonight that will allow this power to begin to flow.
-
That as you leave this service tonight, you will not respond to those circumstances and situations the same way you responded to them before you came in.
-
There is a verse I love that says, the smallness we feel.
-
Let me see if I can locate it.
-
2 Corinthians 6.12, and I have read it here before in the message version, that the smallness you feel is actually inside of you.
-
Let me see whether media can help us put it on the screen so that we read it even as we come to the end of our service.
-
2 Corinthians 6.12 in the message version.
-
Because there is a deliberate attempt by the things of this world to actually cage you in, to actually ensure that you stay small.
-
Yet you have the ability to connect uh to another kingdom.
-
It says the smallness you feel does not come, the smallness you feel comes from within.
-
Let me just paraphrase it in the interest of time.
-
And we remember the story of Saul, because uh the Bible says in the book of 1 Samuel, and this is 10, verse 6, that the Spirit of the Lord will rush upon you, then you will prophesy with them, you will be transformed into a different person.
-
There is a possibility tonight that you can leave this service even as a different person, because this is the Saul who was saying, I am from the smallest tribe, the smallest family, the smallest clan, everything.
-
But the Bible records that you will come to a place where you will be transformed into a different person.
-
This is the anointing when he's being made a king.
-
And if you go down to verse 9, it says that he was made into a different man.
-
And this is one of the prayers that we make tonight.
-
Remember, I have said it is new creation connected.
-
It is not an upgrade, it is that we can have a new Peter in our midst.
-
The old is gone, the new has come.
-
Forget the former things, for behold, I am doing a new thing.
-
And I want you to pray tonight that God, let there be a new robot, let there be a new Peter, let there be a new Benson.
-
And I don't want an upgrade, I want a complete new person for the next season.
-
Because this is exactly what happened to Saul, that he was made into a different man.
-
Some of the limiting beliefs that we have had since maybe because of our growing up and our experiences, we must wage war against them.
-
I dare say that there are some things we've gone through, and you know Jesus was telling Peter, I pray the enemy desires to sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail.
-
There are negative experiences we have gone through, and what the enemy attempted to do is to limit you.
-
It is to limit your belief.
-
It is to bring you to a place where you are not able to believe God for big things.
-
Scientifically, they say that there is an experiment that was done where small elephants were tied with a rope around their legs when they were still small.
-
So they tried to break free from that rope until it was programmed in their mind that it is not possible to break free from this rope.
-
So then you would find grown-up elephants, huge, humongous elephants, that still cannot break away from this rope because the mind was already programmed that you cannot be able to break free.
-
Isaac was telling Esau, the day you get tired, you will break the yoke of your neck.
-
So there are some things as we go home tonight, we need to actually get tired.
-
We need to come to the place of restlessness.
-
You need to ask yourself, by the way, do I have limiting beliefs in my mind that the devil already programmed?
-
Possibly I tried one major project and I failed.
-
And every time you have tried to attempt again, the devil reminds you remember the pain, remember the frustration, remember the shame that you went through.
-
So it has limited you to try and attempt that thing again.
-
And tonight the Bible again says in Micah 7, Do not gloat over me, my enemies.
-
Though I am down, I will rise up again.
-
There is hope for a tree that has been cut down.
-
At the scent of water, it shall sprout again.
-
And therefore, tonight we can go home with that kingdom mindset of saying, I will try this thing again.
-
I will cast my net into the deep.
-
So as we come to the end of our service, allow me to ask us to stand up so that we can just make this one prayer and then we conclude our service tonight.
-
We want to connect to this kingdom mindset.
-
And I want you to start to meditate and to tell the Lord, I am tired of this yoke.
-
That's what Esau was told by Isaac, the father.
-
I am tired of this limiting belief.
-
Tonight I come to the place of understanding that the reason I have never attempted to step out is because of my past failures, is because of limiting beliefs.
-
Is because the enemy has tried to program this failure thing into my mind until I have not found enough strength and grace.
-
But tonight you can go out with a kingdom mindset, and you can even speak prophetically and say, I will go start that project.
-
I will go revisit that proposal that I wrote three years ago, and then I put it somewhere in the shelves because people told me it is not the right season to do it.
-
As a church, we can go to God and tell the Lord, we will attempt this thing again.
-
Even in this season, my God, you're going to help us.
-
Genesis 26 speaks about Isaac, who was commanded by God, planned in the dry season, and you're going to harvest a hundredfold.
-
And I want you to speak to your mind.
-
Let your mind hear your voice.
-
Because your mind is a faithful servant.
-
If it hears your voice, tell your mind today.
-
Let this mind ashes.
-
Broken relationships where we have ashes.
-
I don't know if you're in our midst and you have been mocked by Benina, but there is a technology for a Hannah in our midst to go to God and tell the Lord there is something you can do with a barren womb in the name of Jesus Christ.
-
I don't know who in our midst is, like Virgin Mary, and you're asking, How shall these things come to be?
-
Yes, God, you spoke about this vision, about this great thing, but I don't know how it shall come to be.
-
But tonight you can speak the language of the kingdom and you can say, Holy Spirit, come upon this vision, come upon this strategic plan.
-
The Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow you.
-
And therefore, it doesn't have to make sense in the physical.
-
There is something that can happen in the spirit, in the name of Jesus.
-
The Bible says, Blessed is she that believed, because there was a performance of the things that were spoken.
-
All the things you see around you, I dare say it is not all there is.
-
There is something that can be superimposed into that equation, and that equation will balance in Jesus' name.
-
I don't know who has struggled in our midst because of their past.
-
Tonight, God is telling you there is new creation connected, that the old is gone and the new has come.
-
And there are no conditions for you to enter the new reality.
-
In the name of Jesus Christ, Father, we thank you and we bless your name.
-
Thank you for the liberating power of the kingdom.
-
Thank you because tonight you're setting us free.
-
There are some things that we are tired of.
-
There are circumstances and situations in our midst that we are tired of.
-
And tonight we want to declare that there shall be a breaking of every yoke in the name of Jesus.
-
There's someone going home tonight and saying, I will not be in this situation again because I belong to a kingdom.
-
All my life I had thought I was doing life alone.
-
No, men have disappointed me, but I have a good, good Father in the name of Jesus Christ.
-
We thank you, Lord, and we bless your name because there is none like you.
-
And these things we pray, believing and trusting in Jesus' name.
-
Amen.
-
Our benediction, John 16, verse 33.
-
John 16, 33.
-
33.
-
Yes.
-
I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace.
-
In this world you will have trouble.
-
But take heart, I have overcome the world.
-
That's the kingdom mindset that we should go home with tonight.
-
There is another version that says, Be of good cheer.
-
So as you go home to any situation or circumstance, Jesus is saying, I didn't tell you those circumstances will not be there, but be of good cheer.
-
Because there is something in you, there is another kingdom that is in you that cannot be overcome by the things of this world.
-
There is a kingdom in you that cannot be overcome by a sickness, that cannot be overcome by a temporary lack of finances, that cannot be overcome by that challenge that you're facing.
-
There is another kingdom that is in us.
-
Be of good cheer.
-
And I pray that as we go home tonight, you will be of good cheer.
-
Not necessarily because the circumstance has changed, but there is an understanding that has entered you, and there is a new mindset that has been programmed into you in Jesus' name.
-
Amen.
-
And now may the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us now and forevermore.
-
God bless you.
-
The tea and snack is served.
-
Amen.
-
And have a kingdom filled week in Jesus' name.
-
Amen.
