Bringing You To A place Of Healing | Guided Prayers

Some of the deepest wounds may come from a place that was supposed to be safe.

A church, a community, a leader you trusted.

And a wound from there can change the way you see God Himself.

If that's what you're carrying, look at two short verses with me.

First, here is who God is toward the wounded.

The psalmist writes in Psalm 147.3, He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

And here is what he calls us toward in time.

The Apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 4.32, be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Notice the order.

Before God ever asks you to forgive, he kneels down to bind the wound.

He does not rush you past the hurt.

And notice who the forgiveness is anchored in.

Not the people who failed you, but Christ, who was betrayed by his own and never once used his position to wound anyone.

Real healing comes as we take the weight of our trust off people who can break it and rest it on the God who binds up what they broke.

Let's start by thanking God that he doesn't minimize your pain.

Thank him that he heals the brokenhearted, that he is the kind of God who comes close to the wound instead of stepping over it.

And thank him that he knows betrayal from the inside and still draws near.

Name what happened and where it still aches.

Tell him where the hurt has made it hard to trust him too.

And ask him to do what he promises, to bind up this wound in his time with his career.

Picture him kneeling close, gently binding the wound, in no hurry to move you along.

Quietly tell him, People failed me, but you won't.

I'm placing my trust in you.

Bring them to the God who heals the brokenhearted and ask him to draw close and bind their wounds too.

Hold our trust gently, bind what was broken, and bring us all the way to healing.
