  1. Who is like unto thee, O Lord? Who is like

  2. unto thee? Shalom, precious one. God richly bless you for

  3. tuning in to Radio ACI today. Privileged to be facilitating

  4. today's devotion, Our pastor, Mrs. Bruce Smith from Harvest Chapel International, Kumasi.

  5. Let us kindly share a word of prayer. Father, we

  6. thank you for the gift of life. We open up

  7. to receive your word. We pray that you bless, equip,

  8. and empower us. Make your word a blessing in Jesus' name. Amen.

  9. Let us kindly share our confession together from Joshua 1,

    Joshua 1:8

  10. verse 8. Joshua chapter 1 verse 8 This book of

    Joshua 1:8

  11. the law shall not depart out of my mouth, but

  12. I shall meditate in it day and night, that I

  13. may observe to do according to all that is written

  14. in it. For then I will make my way prosperous,

  15. and then I will have good success. Amen. The theme

  16. for today's devotion is Overflowing mercies. Overflowing mercies. And our

  17. scripture reading will be taken from Psalm 51 verse 1

    Psalms 51:1

  18. and 2. Psalm 51 verse 1 and 2. This is

    Psalms 51:1

  19. a script written by Pastor MSS Amo Appiah. Let us

  20. hear the word of the Lord. Have mercy on me,

  21. O God. According to your steadfast love, according to your

  22. abundant mercy, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from

  23. my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. May the

  24. Lord add his blessing to the hearing and reading of

  25. his word. Thanks be to God. Overflowing Mercies Overflowing Mercies

  26. When guilt takes hold of the conscience, our first human

  27. instinct is always to run and hide. We pull shadows

  28. around ourselves. We shut down, convinced that if God looks

  29. too closely at the mess we have made, there can

  30. only be rejection and wrath waiting for us. Think of

  31. King David. He slept with Bathsheba and killed her husband.

  32. His failure was not minor. He was scandalous and stained

  33. with blood. For nearly a year, he kept silent and

  34. his bones wasted away beneath the misery of his own deceit. Yet,

  35. when the prophet Nathan confronted him, David did something striking.

  36. He did not run into hiding. He cast himself face

  37. down at the feet of the Holy One of Israel, crying,

  38. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Thy lovingkindness,

  39. according to Thy multitude of Thy tender mercies, blot out

  40. my transgressions. Why run to the very God who you

  41. have offended? Because David knew something vital about the Lord's heart.

  42. He knew God does not have to be persuaded to

  43. be kind. Mercy is not a temporary mood that the

  44. Lord must wake up when we plead hard enough. It

  45. is who He is. In the ancient Hebrew tongue, David said,

  46. spoke not of a single mercy but of mercies as

  47. an endless and measured store. The phrase points to the

  48. tender compassion of a mother embracing the infant within her womb.

  49. It is gentle and very deep. Perhaps this morning you

  50. are carrying a hidden failure. You have wondered in the

  51. quiet ache of your heart, whether God's patience has finally

  52. run out. You believe He can forgive the person sitting

  53. next to you, but you fear your own record is

  54. simply too dark. Hear this truth today, our God has

  55. not changed. As a preacher once said, there is far

  56. more mercy in Christ than sin in us. The gospel

  57. is not an announcement. that God accepted us when we

  58. were at our best. It is the glorious news that

  59. He loved us when we were at our absolute worst.

  60. Do not run from Him today. Take your broken pieces,

  61. your sorrow and your regret and lay them openly before Him.

  62. You will find no harsh rejection, only the open arms

  63. of a Father whose tender mercies will never fail. Amen.

  64. Let's kindly take a memory verse from Psalm 103 verse 8.

    Psalms 103:8

  65. Psalm 103 verse 8. Reading from the King James Version.

    Psalms 103:8

  66. The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and

  67. plenteous in mercy. Psalm 103 verse 8. The Lord is

    Psalms 103:8

  68. merciful and gracious, slow to anger and plenteous in mercy.

  69. Let's share a word of prayer. Father, we thank you

  70. for your word that has come to us. Bless us.

  71. Grant us the grace to be doers of your word.

  72. In Jesus' mighty name. Amen. God richly bless you, beloved,

  73. for tuning in for our devotion. You want to open

  74. up yourself. You want to go out there and practice

  75. that which you have heard today. In Jesus' name. Tomorrow,

  76. same time, We will meet and hear God speak to

  77. us in Jesus' name. Shalom and have a blessed day. Amen.
