Luke Luke one one. Inasmuch as many have undertaken to

compile a narrative of the things that have been accomplished

among us, just as those who from the beginning were

eye witnesses and ministers of the Word have delivered them

to us, it seemed good to me, also, having followed

all things closely for some time past, to write an

orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, that you may

have certainty concerning the things you have been taught. In

the days of Herod, King of Judea, there was a

priest named Zechariah of the division of Abijah, and he

had a wife from the daughters of Erin, and her

name was Elizabeth. And they were both righteous before God,

walking blamelessly in all the commandments and statutes of the Lord.

But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and

both were advanced in years. Now. While he was serving

as priest before God, when his division was on duty,

by lot to enter the temple of the Lord and

burn incense. And the whole multitude of the people who

were praying outside at the hour of incense, and there

from of old, that we should be saved from our

enemies and from the hand of all who hate us,

to show the mercy promise to our fathers, and to

remember his holy covenant, the oath that he swore to

our father Abraham, to grant us, that we, being delivered

from the hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear,

in holiness and righteousness before him all our days. And you,

child will be called the Prophet of the Most High,

for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways,

to give knowledge of salvation to his people and the

forgiveness of their sins because of the tender mercy of

but finding no way to bring him in because of

And the scribes and the pharisees began to question, saying, who.

Is this who speaks me blasphemies?

Those who are well have no need of a physician,

but those who are sick. I have not come to

call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

The disciples of John fast often and offer prayers, and

so do.

Can you make wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is

with them? The days will come when the bridegroom is

taken away from them, and then they will fast in

those days.

He also told them a parable.

No one tears a piece from a new garment and

puts it on an old garment. If he does, he

will tear the new, and the peace from the new

will not match the old. And no one puts new

wine into old wine skins. If he does, the new

wine will burst the skins, and it will be spilled,

and the skins will be destroyed. But new wine must

be put into fresh wine skins. And no one, after

drinking old wine desires knew, for he says.

And all the crowd sought to touch him, for power

came out from him and healed them all. And he

lifted up his eyes on his disciples and.

Said, Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is

the Kingdom of God. Blessed are you who are hungry?

Now for you shall be satisfied. Blessed are you who

weep now, for you shall laugh. Blessed are you when

people hate you, and when they exclude you and revile

you and spurn your name as evil on account of

the Son of Man. Rejoice in that day and leap

for joy. For behold, your reward is great in heaven.

For so their fathers did to the prophets. But woe

For all the nations of the world seek after these things,

and your father knows that you need them. Instead, seek

his kingdom, and these things will be added to you.

Fear not, little flock, for it is your father's good
