  1. Happy Tuesday. Tuesday.

  2. Feels feels weird to say but usually dropping this on Monday.

  3. It is Tuesday took Memorial Day off yesterday and you, you went

  4. like off grid yesterday, which is good.

  5. I'm not like knocking you for that.

  6. Where did where did Chris go? Where did Chris disappear to

  7. you? But like you took your day off.

  8. Oh, I was really gone. Well, and and I can't take a lot

  9. of credit for that because, you know, there's this kind of like

  10. thing of, Hey, you need to definitely have a day, right,

  11. Sabbath, Sabbath matters. But I don't get to take credit

  12. for that because what I tend to do and how this works in my life

  13. is that like I will just tell people who will hold me

  14. accountable, like my family, my, my wife, God bless her.

  15. She's she's so good at that. She's like, what are you doing?

  16. What are you doing? Are you, you working right now?

  17. And I went, no, no, no, no, not at all.

  18. Of course not. So when I told them like, Hey,

  19. the holiday is the holiday. Let's, let's, let's take that

  20. off. I knew that if I'd even like

  21. peeked at a text message or like tried to respond to something

  22. like in a meaningful way, dude, I was, I was definitely going to

  23. get called out. Wow.

  24. All right. Well, good for you.

  25. I'm glad you have that accountability in your life.

  26. I did. I did very little yesterday and

  27. even the IT seems like work things, but it's really, it's

  28. really not. I taught, I taught a couple.

  29. I talked to Eric and wow, I can't say words.

  30. I taught Derek and Chris or Oh my goodness.

  31. Wait, who are we talking? About Derek and Grace

  32. Hendrickson walked them through how to change guitar strings

  33. yesterday. Which like whatever fits in fits

  34. into the part of my job that I do for music at work.

  35. But it was more of a skill for that since they're both playing

  36. guitar. Like they just, they knew how

  37. to, had to know how to learn how to do this because you have to,

  38. if you didn't know, you have to change the strings on a guitar

  39. 'cause they get old, they get oily, they get dirty just by

  40. touching them and stuff. And your guitar never sounds

  41. better than with brand new strings on it.

  42. It's just, it sounds, it sounds bright and crisp and that the

  43. strings are like, they have like a softer texture to them, like

  44. they're just it's, it's a delight.

  45. It's never a better time to play a guitar than with brand new

  46. strings on it, so. OK, as I hear you describe that,

  47. I'm just relating that to me because, you know, playing a

  48. guitar, I've attempted a couple times and it's just painful.

  49. Like it's just it just it's painful on your hands and I'm

  50. like, that doesn't sound pleasant, but OK, sure, do your

  51. thing. But the only way I could relate

  52. that potentially is like putting on a brand new pair of shoes is

  53. like the best feeling ever. I'm like, I don't care that

  54. they're not broken and they're brand new.

  55. They smell like new shoes. I'm a weirdo.

  56. Like, I, I love new shoes, right?

  57. Anybody who sees me on a Sunday, like, you know, I'm rotating,

  58. you know, between 15 and 20 pairs of shoes.

  59. It's just a thing I have. Can't help it.

  60. But like, I don't know, like on an electric, OK, I can, I can

  61. get it with like an acoustic because you just got this hollow

  62. sound and you, you only have the strings in like that hollow

  63. space to create the noise, right?

  64. Noise is probably the wrong word.

  65. I'm sorry. But but with an electric, like

  66. dude, there's no, there's no like hollow box on.

  67. It's just, it's just electricity.

  68. It's just, you know, well, I don't even get how that works.

  69. Well, the fair assessment, fair assessment there, you're right

  70. there is like more resonance with an acoustic guitar because

  71. it has the, it has the body, it's it's echoing and making

  72. sound of that. The electric does that same

  73. thing with those little, those little like square rectangles or

  74. sometimes they're single coil ovals kind of.

  75. But those are basically microphones.

  76. Those those are basically amplification of the strings

  77. that are lying over them. So the strings still are making

  78. their own sound. You're right though, they're

  79. going through like effects or a pedal board or or things like

  80. that that are adding sound or distortion or or reverb to the

  81. strings. The strings themselves still

  82. have like some merit of tone, just on their own.

  83. So I mean, that's fair. It just, it sounds like, you

  84. know, you play an electric without being plugged in and

  85. you're like, OK, that was that was that was meaningless.

  86. OK, I, I, I get that. I on an electric especially,

  87. it's more of the feel of them. Like especially for guys that

  88. are that are soloing, playing more than just chords.

  89. If you have, if you have dirty grimy string like you can, you

  90. can feel kind of like the tackiness of them.

  91. You can, you can feel. Oh man, how do I even I don't

  92. even know what to relate this to.

  93. I feel like, I feel like used guitar strings have a very

  94. distinct feel like I guess imagine like a rusted nail like

  95. it would could you versus like a smooth nail, I guess, yeah, that

  96. would be the biggest thing. Not that there's usually like

  97. rust on guitar strings, but there's there's a tackiness,

  98. there's there's some extra residue on dirty guitar strings

  99. that just isn't exactly as pleasant.

  100. To touch, you know what I just immediately thought of?

  101. I thought of like, OK, so I don't play a lot of video games

  102. anymore, but when I did and I had little kids, they got these

  103. sticky little fingers and then the buttons start to stick and

  104. I'm like mashing this button and I'm frustrated because now I'm

  105. dying in whatever game. And it's like, it's because this

  106. is, yeah, these are sticky and they're not great.

  107. And like it just it's not clicking the way it's supposed

  108. to, right? That's yeah, that's pretty much

  109. the same thing. That's fair.

  110. I can live with. I can live with that

  111. explanation. I can understand that much.

  112. Yeah, Beyond that, we were, it was, it was board game weekend

  113. this weekend, apparently. We taught, we taught Oliver

  114. settlers of Katan. Do you say Katan or or Katan?

  115. You know, even you saying Catan, just you don't have a nasally

  116. voice, but you can't say Catan. It's like, I don't know, man.

  117. It's like that Catan. Oh my goodness, come on, man.

  118. Like, no, I don't think it's pretentious to say Catan.

  119. It just sounds better I feel. Like that I played Settlers of

  120. Catan this weekend. I feel like that's just like

  121. you. Almost have to have like a

  122. British accent. Settlers of Catan that that was

  123. terrible. That was, that was so bad.

  124. That was so bad. Yikes that was.

  125. I feel like you were caught between like.

  126. That's terrible. Some some Asian accent and like,

  127. I don't know, and English were like all you were trying to do

  128. all and I don't know what that sounds.

  129. Like, see this, This is why. Like, had I even attempted to be

  130. an actor, they'd have been like, Oh no man, like we're not even

  131. going to try an accent with you. It's over.

  132. Like, just like, you know, I think Kevin Costner did Robin

  133. Hood, who's obviously an English character and he just, he, he

  134. could not do the English accent. There's no way.

  135. Right. So he.

  136. Yeah. All right.

  137. Well, we learned something about it today.

  138. I want to try again, but I'm not.

  139. I'm not going to. I'm not going to try again

  140. because it was terrible. All right.

  141. Well, in in interest of of piling on to things that you've

  142. said. I actually I asked that question

  143. in in jest for you brought up the contrast between bags.

  144. Oh gosh. Or the yard game bags or

  145. cornhole and and announcements on Sunday.

  146. And there was I got a weird, the room got weird when you asked

  147. about cornhole. I don't something there's, you

  148. know, I, I understand that in certain weird circles that would

  149. not be a phrase appropriate for a large audience, but like I

  150. just, I just heard people call bags cornhole.

  151. And so I was just like maybe 'cause when I said bags, nobody

  152. like reacted. Not that I expect like, Oh yeah,

  153. let's go, but like. They didn't seem to know it.

  154. They didn't seem to know what I meant, so I said cornhole.

  155. And then I got a very different reaction from our audience and I

  156. was like, oh, but now I've said something inappropriate.

  157. Great. You can't call it that.

  158. Apparently not. In church you can't.

  159. I don't know. Oh man, I don't know either.

  160. I'm not seven years here, but I'm not a native Iowan so I

  161. would think if we called if the alternate name for bags was

  162. cornhole anywhere it would be here.

  163. Nebraska. Where's the We need a

  164. geographical regional map for the the title of Yeah, bean bag

  165. toss. I mean the United.

  166. States they show it on like ESPN.

  167. What does ESPN call that game? I have no idea.

  168. That's right, this professional, I feel like they just call it

  169. bags. Do they call it bags?

  170. I don't know. So if I showed up on ESPN as

  171. like an announcer, which would be a terrible job for me, But if

  172. I did, 'cause I would try an English accent that sound cool

  173. or a British one, it would go. It would.

  174. It would go awesome. You would have to be TOFA

  175. though. Right tofa tofa tofa.

  176. The outside at the cornhole tenement.

  177. You can do it. I believe in you.

  178. But you're doing it shockingly well.

  179. Like where did you pick up a British accent?

  180. I don't know, I I. You just, you just watch a lot

  181. of British TV like. Sometimes I feel like, yeah,

  182. really. No, not really.

  183. At all. I just feel like actually

  184. Pirates of the Caribbean, which is probably not a great model

  185. for British accents, but I don't, We talked, we talked

  186. about, I feel like we've talked about our OK three weeks in a

  187. row. We've talked about our wives

  188. now, but maybe nicknames or or last week.

  189. Yeah, last week we were talking about affectionate.

  190. Oh yes get affectionate like hatred face.

  191. I don't know why and I I actually don't even I should

  192. look up what it actually means, but the oh man, now I'm going to

  193. get myself in trouble. I need to look up what it means

  194. before I share this actually. Is it like did it?

  195. Is it a phrase that came out of those?

  196. Pirates. It's an OK, It is a term of

  197. endearment. I just wanted to make sure.

  198. Yeah. In the first movie, they're

  199. looking for Elizabeth and she's hiding and one of the pirates

  200. just looks in and says ello poppet.

  201. I very often greet Emily with that when she comes back and,

  202. like, she comes home. I just ello poppet.

  203. Like that's amazing. Dude, I don't know, I just got a

  204. super cool insight into like you guys's relationship.

  205. Like hello, poppet. Like so I do say that pretty

  206. regular in the British accent. I don't.

  207. Wow yeah well cuz it sound it would sound weird if you said it

  208. like normally. Hello Poppet.

  209. Yeah, I don't know. I don't.

  210. That's not as great. That's not great.

  211. Yeah. So nobody's entertained by that.

  212. British British phrase for hello sweetheart or yeah, beloved

  213. person so. Oh yeah, wow.

  214. So that's probably what I don't know.

  215. I think that's mostly why it's just like readily available for

  216. me. OK, you're right.

  217. If I was also a sportscaster, I feel like the British accent

  218. would just be the way to go. If you could, man, if you could

  219. consistently pull it off, you, you have, you have a new second

  220. career ahead of you. Like it's, I think it's strong.

  221. You should. You should give it a go, man.

  222. Oh man, thanks. I'm glad you're in my corner on

  223. that. Well, but here's the thing.

  224. Like, OK, so like if you listen to preachers from wherever, like

  225. in this, maybe it's just me, but like there's a there's a

  226. preacher who has like AI think it's like a Scottish accent.

  227. And I'm like, I could say the exact same thing as him.

  228. It sounds way cooler when he says it.

  229. Or like, you know, we had a guy at my last church, he's from

  230. England, and I begged him. I was like, can you always read

  231. the text before I preach? And he was like, what?

  232. Well, he didn't say it like that, you know, because he's got

  233. an accent. But I was just like, dude, it

  234. sounds so much better when you say it.

  235. And I think I weirded him out like.

  236. I feel like I feel like it's fair that he got weirded out.

  237. You were like reverse profiling him for like your your voice

  238. that you can't change. Dang it, it's just the way you

  239. are like but it sounds majestic. I get.

  240. It like it does, isn't. That an American person thing

  241. too. Like just English or or

  242. Australian accents, like just sound somewhat.

  243. They're speaking the same language, but it sounds like

  244. they're just way cooler than we. Are way cooler.

  245. Is it way cooler in the same way that I think like if you're

  246. raised above what they used to call the Mason Dixon line versus

  247. below that like we sound, no offense, I'm so sorry.

  248. Oh my goodness. But I'm going to, I'm just going

  249. to go on a limb and say, like, you can be the most intelligent

  250. Southerner of all time, but if you speak with a long, slow

  251. draw, I'm sorry, man. Like it's, you're going to have

  252. to convince me of like, you know that.

  253. Like you've got a lot of, I don't know, you know what I'm

  254. saying. And it's terrible and I

  255. shouldn't have said it, but I it's already out there now and

  256. Matt can't even respond. But but yeah, in the same way,

  257. in the same way I feel like, like it's English, it's

  258. terrible. I'm, I'm a not a nice person,

  259. but like, you know, so like in the same way that I would feel

  260. just sound wise superior to somebody who's got a deep

  261. southern accent. I think the English accent

  262. British is seemingly superior to.

  263. Like the regular American? Yeah, yeah.

  264. I'm not sure I'm sorry. I think.

  265. I think that feeling is there anyway, wow.

  266. We have already fully derailed. We are going to get into some

  267. more substantive Bible things in just a minute.

  268. Now we're going to jump through Acts chapter 3 that we kind of

    Acts 3 chapter mention

  269. skipped over in our sermon series, but we want to recount

  270. some of the events that happened in chapter 3.

  271. We'll go over and recap my message from Sunday Acts Chapter

    Acts 4 chapter mention

  272. 4, the prayer for boldness for the church and and for

  273. Christians and the disciples. But before that, we'll have our

  274. weekly Would you rather? And the question this week is,

  275. would you rather be constantly tired no matter how much you

  276. sleep, or constantly hungry no matter how much you eat?

  277. This is terrible. Assuming, and this assumes you

  278. don't have the health problems, like you're not, you're not

  279. actually sleep deprived and you're not actually starving,

  280. you just feel tired or hungry. OK, well, I, I, I often, and

  281. again, you know, I often times do that to myself almost

  282. intentionally. Like I stay up too late knowing

  283. that it's like, well, you have this thing that you need to be

  284. at in the morning and you need to be present and then where?

  285. And, and so I often feel that way and it's not a great

  286. feeling. There's like this, you know,

  287. you, all of you listening, you can probably understand like

  288. there's this kind of like haze, a little fogginess and you're

  289. like, man, I just don't feel quite as sharp and that's

  290. terrible. Yep, not a good feeling.

  291. But the other side of this, the hunger, I think it would be, I

  292. think it'd be a really weird sensation to be constantly hung.

  293. Like we're used to feeling hungry and then eating something

  294. because we're hungry, but to be eating something and not have

  295. that feeling go away, Wouldn't you just keep eating?

  296. Like wouldn't you just constantly stuff yourself?

  297. Yeah, I OK, So have you experienced like authentic

  298. hanger, hungry, angry, you've experienced it like you get

  299. super like. Moody off of that too, not just

  300. sleep deprived but hunger, hunger deprived you can just be

  301. on a little bit more of a hair trigger or just get annoyed by

  302. yeah and just. Yeah, well, I so I had a recent

  303. experience of that on Sunday after church.

  304. You know, church is great, go to the gym, Haven't really eaten

  305. anything all day unless it's like we need to shop for

  306. groceries because now there's four humans in our house instead

  307. of two and we actually have to go shopping.

  308. That's weird, but OK, let's do that.

  309. So do all the things before that.

  310. And now all of a sudden, like I'm walking around grocery

  311. stores looking at aisles and aisles of food and like, I can

  312. feel myself getting annoyed with everything.

  313. Like everything is making me angry now.

  314. So like the person just innocently pushing their cart

  315. and I'm just like, oh, I'm just, I don't like that person.

  316. I don't, I don't like so authentic hangry kind of moment.

  317. Well, we get to, so I'm, I'm like at my wit's end.

  318. Like even even like minor traffic in Davenport has now got

  319. me like ready to jump out of the car.

  320. And so like, we get to Costco and I was like, listen, I'm

  321. going to use the restroom. And like on my trip to the

  322. restroom, I walk by and of course, of course, you know, you

  323. can get a hot dog and A and a soda for $1.50.

  324. I'm like, oh, I'm making a stop because otherwise I, I don't

  325. know, like I'm not a good person right now.

  326. So I did it, you know, I did that.

  327. And then all of a sudden, like I'm back to normal.

  328. And it was great. And like, you know, people can

  329. get in the way and you're shopping, you're like, oh, it's

  330. fine. It's great.

  331. So yeah, the hangry thing, that's real for me.

  332. So I I think I would just have to be sleep deprived.

  333. So you're not. You think you're less irritable

  334. when sleep deprived? Because I think both of these

  335. could lead to escalated annoyance in your life.

  336. Yeah, but dude, that experience I had a couple days ago,

  337. seriously, I was, I was like fit to be tied because I was so

  338. hungry. I was just I, I don't know if I

  339. could live that way. So because of reason, it's it's

  340. more real for you, the hungry thing.

  341. You might have to dismiss that. Yeah, where are you at?

  342. I I hear that I receive that I think I'm more often experience

  343. and maybe adults parents, which probably a lot of you are.

  344. Aren't we already constantly tired?

  345. Aren't most of us just walking around in a in a moderately

  346. sleep deprived you're? Just walking zombies.

  347. Isn't the first part of this question just my life as it is

  348. right now? You.

  349. Have no choice. So.

  350. So maybe a different line of reasoning to get there.

  351. I think my answer is the same as yours.

  352. I think I would rather be constantly tired.

  353. That's what you chose, right? You'd rather be constantly

  354. tired. I don't want to blow up to like

  355. £300 because I'm always hungry. Right, I just, I think you might

  356. be right. The the annoyance of hunger is

  357. possibly greater than the annoyance of tired.

  358. I don't know that I'm annoyed when I'm tired.

  359. I'm just like you said, like just kind of foggy checked out.

  360. Blah. A little lethargic maybe?

  361. Yeah, but also with thinking about like I, I think I might

  362. constantly be tired already anyway, so I don't know.

  363. I don't know. I'd rather not all.

  364. I think even if I was constantly hungry, I might constantly also

  365. be tired. So I think I have to choose the

  366. I would rather be constantly tired and take care of my hunger

  367. because I think I might already be constantly tired.

  368. Yeah, that I, if you have a different opinion, I'd love to

  369. hear it, but I think that that feels like the way to go.

  370. Yep. I think that's it.

  371. All right. We are turning to ACT Chapter 3.

  372. We didn't talk a whole lot. I referenced a little bit of the

  373. story in summary in my message on Sunday, but we're going to

  374. read through the text and just kind of highlight the events

  375. that were happening, how the Holy Spirit's moving, the words

  376. spoken and preached through Peter and John, and recap the

  377. message from Acts chapter 4 a little bit as well.

    Acts 4 chapter mention

  378. But for now, I'm just going to read through this first part of

  379. chapter 3 and we'll kind of talk about what we see here, What was

  380. going on in the early church Acts chapter 3, starting at

    Acts 3 chapter mention

  381. verse one. Now Peter and John, we're going

  382. up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the 9th hour.

  383. And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid

  384. daily at the gate of the temple that is called the beautiful

  385. gate, to ask alms of those entering the temple.

  386. Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to

  387. receive alms. And Peter directed his gaze at

  388. him, as did John and said, look at us.

  389. And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive

  390. something from them. But Peter said I have no silver

  391. and gold, but what I do have to give you in the name of Jesus

  392. Christ of Nazareth. Rise up and walk.

  393. And he took him by the right hand and raised him up.

  394. And immediately his feet and ankles were made strong, and

  395. leaping up he stood and began to walk and enter the temple with

  396. them, walking and leaping and praising God.

  397. And all the people who saw him walking and praising God and

  398. recognized him as the one who sat at the beautiful gate of the

  399. temple asking for alms, they were filled with wonder and

  400. amazement at what had happened to him.

  401. It's ridiculous. Wow.

  402. Yeah, that's insane. So cool moment, awesome moment.

  403. I talked about it on Sunday that this actually comes to a point

  404. where the religious leaders, the teachers of the law, they, they

  405. were telling Peter and John to stop doing this, to stop doing

  406. miracles, to stop preaching the name of Jesus, but they couldn't

  407. actually arrest them or punish them for healing.

  408. This man, This guy, some some scholars and commentators would

  409. would guesstimate his age to be in his 40s.

  410. And if he was this way from birth, who knows how long that

  411. daily he was brought that the whole community, the whole

  412. temple community would know this guy as the guy who was laying in

  413. front of the gate every day, right?

  414. So for him to all of a sudden be healed and walking and leaping

  415. even as much whatever propaganda or or shifting or or denial that

  416. the religious leaders wanted to put on that they, they couldn't

  417. undo that right? They they couldn't convince

  418. people that that didn't happen. Well, you know, OK, So if you've

  419. ever spent any time in like bigger cities, what you'll find

  420. is like people who, you know, they're, they beg, right?

  421. You know, they're, they're asking for things.

  422. They have their usual spots. Even in Davenport, you can see

  423. it. So depending on what street

  424. you're coming up on during especially the warm weather

  425. months, you'll see the same person there over and over

  426. again, day after day because like that's kind of their spot.

  427. And so this man clearly had a spot picked out and had been

  428. consistently there for who knows how many years, the entire

  429. community. And what's really kind of neat

  430. about this is the entire community had been supporting

  431. this man for all of that time. And they know who he is.

  432. And you know, hey, when I come up to the temple, I'm probably,

  433. you know, he's going to ask. And so here's how much I have to

  434. give him today to kind of support him.

  435. And, and that's what that community did.

  436. So to have him running and jumping and leaping and praising

  437. God as he like skips into the temple is pure insanity for

  438. anybody who's probably been dropping change at this guy's

  439. feet for the last 10/15/20 years.

  440. It's crazy, you can't deny it. So the other part of this that I

  441. wonder and we don't see, we don't know for sure.

  442. The text doesn't tell us for sure, but I love Peter's

  443. response in verse 6. I have no silver and gold, but

  444. what I do have I give to you in the name of Jesus Christ of

  445. Nazareth. Rise up and walk now.

  446. Yes, Peter and John, this is after Pentecost indwelt filled

  447. up with the Holy Spirit commissioned to go do miracles

  448. and healings and and things just like this.

  449. But I wonder, I wonder if the beggar knew I I wonder if these

  450. people he was there for money. He was he was there for people

  451. to give to him, right? I wonder though, he was there

  452. this often were the people going to the temple, Were they just

  453. throwing coins at his feet day after day and not telling him

  454. about this Jesus about like were they not caring for him with the

  455. thing that he ultimately most needed in this and and and in

  456. some ways a little personal conviction on yeah, those that

  457. we sometimes do pass in in the car in in the city looking for

  458. aid. Even if I don't have cash or

  459. money or a or a a go bag a giving a giving bag.

  460. Some some people make Ziplocs of commodities and simple.

  461. Simple things. To hand out to even if I don't

  462. have one of those things on me, what I do have, right?

  463. What I do have with me constantly at all time, I, I, I

  464. could pray or encourage or or even speak the truth that I know

  465. to this person, right? Do we?

  466. How often do we fall short of that?

  467. And I again, not in a that's very law, that's very, that's

  468. very guilt ridden maybe, but but I see it here, Peter, that's

  469. Peter's response. I don't have the things you're

  470. looking for. I don't have a 20 to give to

  471. you. I don't have food with me to

  472. give to you. But what I do have this I give.

  473. Well, and how many people, I suppose.

  474. Wow. How many people do we know who

  475. are spiritually destitute, Right.

  476. And I have something to give you, yet I don't give it to you.

  477. Instead, I, I kind of, you know, I, I give you things that you

  478. already have or that you don't actually need, you know, but

  479. you're spiritually destitute. And I have this thing to give

  480. you. But no, I think I'll keep it to

  481. myself because my faith is very private.

  482. Very private or we feel like we might be an annoyance like.

  483. I talked about, yeah. We have, we have fear of fear of

  484. rejection, fear of whatever that might be.

  485. Isn't that, isn't that crazy that we might have a fear of

  486. rejection of a complete stranger or even a stranger in need even.

  487. And we have a fear of rejection or awkwardness that's mild like.

  488. That is, but it just, it just shows you how powerful the fear

  489. of man is versus the God that we should fear, right?

  490. One is infinitely more powerful in our hearts and in our minds,

  491. and it's not the right one usually.

  492. And so like, yeah, that's, that's heavy, but that's

  493. probably real for the vast majority of us that we, that we

  494. feel that social pressure to fit in or to make people like us or

  495. to not cause any waves. We definitely feel that.

  496. But clearly John and Peter, like, yeah, we don't care.

  497. We're we're going to do what God tells us to do.

  498. And in this moment, God is prompting us to tell this man,

  499. stand up because you've done this long enough.

  500. And he doesn't just stop there. I love the response too, and I

  501. love the the words contained in Luke's account here and and

  502. leaping up. He didn't didn't stand up the

  503. word like he bolted. He over the top, out of control,

  504. leaped up, he stood and began to walk, entered the temple,

  505. walking and leaping and praising God.

  506. So this wasn't just, it wasn't just a conventional

  507. run-of-the-mill that his response is.

  508. This guy is making a real scene because imagine, you know, even

  509. modern day, like you and your family, you're walking in from

  510. the parking lot in the church and everybody's like, oh, we're

  511. dressed nice and we have a pleasant look on our faces.

  512. Can you imagine somebody, like, jumping up and down, slapping

  513. the window on their way by as they're coming back?

  514. Yeah, I'm here to praise the Lord.

  515. Woo. And, you know, they're just like

  516. jumping up and down while people are trying to drink coffee.

  517. It's it's unreal. But I think that's the response

  518. that we like secretly want all the time too, right?

  519. Like that's, that's the response of praise and affection and

  520. attention that we want to give to God at all times.

  521. I, I think if we're honest with ourselves, if social, social

  522. propriety and jubilant awkwardness aside, like if we

  523. could, if we could quell those things we want this response to.

  524. Be yeah, absolutely our response.

  525. And I, I, I, I feel that on certain Sundays, you know, for

  526. sure, like man, God is, God is doing good work through his

  527. word. And, you know, there's a

  528. proclamation of grace and truth and peace and freedom.

  529. And like, you know, that gets moving in my soul.

  530. It's stirred in such a way. And, and I just want everybody

  531. to kind of join me in that, like joyful insanity.

  532. And, but like, that's not the culture we live in, right?

  533. Well, it's, it's just not where we are.

  534. We're not like up in like woo, you know, and, and I understand

  535. too, like biblically, like when we meet together, we are there

  536. to be in community and fellowship and learn and

  537. understand and, and take in something really important.

  538. But at the same time, like man, to have this like expression,

  539. this physical expression of joy where you just literally cannot

  540. contain it. That's that's remarkable.

  541. And it's always fun to see that. Pretty cool, pretty cool.

  542. And it and it goes on verse 11. While he clung to Peter and

  543. John, all the people, utterly astounded, ran together to them

  544. in the portico called Solomon's. And when Peter saw it, he

  545. addressed the people. Men of Israel, Why do you wonder

  546. at this? Or why do you stare at us as

  547. though by our power or piety we have made him walk?

  548. The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the

  549. God of our fathers, glorified His servant Jesus, whom you

  550. delivered over and denied in the presence of Pilate when he had

  551. decided to release him. But you denied the holy and

  552. righteous 1 and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,

  553. and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the

  554. dead. To this we are witnesses, and

  555. His name by faith in His name has made this man strong whom

  556. you see and know. And the faith that is through

  557. Jesus has given the man this perfect health in the presence

  558. of you all. Wow.

  559. Heavy words. He's Peter he's mad Peter might

  560. be hangry in this in this moment.

  561. We got to get this guy a Snickers it It's interesting to

  562. me that their that their reaction, which Luke says in

  563. verse 10. They were filled with wonder and

  564. amazement and Peter is somehow his reaction is somehow

  565. annoyance or or anger or irritation at why are you amazed

  566. by this? You should know this.

  567. We have we have history the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac,

  568. the the people to which you claim to be a part of.

  569. We have a history of the the amazing deeds that this God has

  570. done. You all were the ones who

  571. crucified Jesus. You told Pilate to punish him.

  572. You released the murderer. You killed the author of life

  573. and Peter just you should know better right Like that's that's

  574. what these words. It's a it's a chastisement of

  575. you should know and you know what this is what we're

  576. preaching. This is what we're witnessing.

  577. You're amazed by this. This is this is normal.

  578. This is life in the author of life whom God raised from the

  579. dead in your presence. You seeing this this this should

  580. be expected. Almost, is his response.

  581. And that's, that's a cool thing. And I think that's why Jesus can

  582. say, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can move

  583. this mountain. I, I don't think, gosh, we, we

  584. don't necessarily take that saying of Jesus literally, but

  585. maybe we ought. Because as Peter and John walk

  586. up to this guy, what kind of, what kind of confidence, what

  587. kind of faith did it take for them to be able to say, all

  588. right, get up and walk? I mean, there's no doubt in

  589. their mind, there's no division in their mind that when they say

  590. that in the name of Jesus, this dude's going to stand up and

  591. walk. Like, no question about it, they

  592. had sheer and utter and complete confidence that God was going to

  593. do this. And you know, this is, this is

  594. the same God who parted the sea. This is the same God who raised

  595. Lazarus from the dead. This is the same God, you know,

  596. and you can go on and on and on. And I, I have to wonder, and I

  597. mean this for me too. I have to wonder, like, man, how

  598. big or how small is my faith that I don't do this because,

  599. you know, I, gosh, just put yourself in John and Peter's

  600. shoes. What kind, what kind of courage

  601. and what kind of faith does it take to say, all right, man, get

  602. up, like I'm not playing get up. And then I, I don't know, man,

  603. that's, that's I, I, I, I wish I had that.

  604. I hear what you're saying. I really do.

  605. It makes my faith feel small. It does.

  606. Because yeah, either that or why do I believe that God doesn't

  607. act that way anymore? No, I, I don't, I don't believe

  608. that the Holy Spirit can't move in a healing way like this, even

  609. even in that instant. But yeah, so where's the,

  610. where's the minutiae of why not me?

  611. Is it, is it a me problem? Which I think is what?

  612. Your and that's what I'm asking. Is it a my faith problem 'cause

  613. I and I don't know that it 100% is.

  614. I think sure, we could be on a proper faith level and for some

  615. reason, maybe we just aren't in some contexts where that is

  616. glorifying to God more than more than me or or or or or in in a

  617. way that is for the glory of God.

  618. Because I think that's also what Peter's getting at here.

  619. This, this is at no point he says it's not, it's not our

  620. power of piety that we made him walk.

  621. This is this is all God again, not the not the Kingdom of we,

  622. not the Kingdom of me, the Kingdom of God.

  623. He's pointing all to that. So I don't know.

  624. I don't I don't have a good answer.

  625. I wonder too, if there was just like, you know, because I do

  626. think you can be sensitive to the movement of the Holy Spirit

  627. and, and you can also be wildly unsensitive to that in the sense

  628. that like I just block it out. And, you know, God, God through

  629. the Spirit has asked me to have these conversations several

  630. times and I just kind of always quench that fire.

  631. And so now I just, I don't hear, I'm not sensitive to hearing

  632. God's movement. And you can only imagine that,

  633. like, these two in particular must have been so wildly

  634. sensitive to every minuscule movement of God inside their

  635. hearts as the Spirit is prompting them to do something.

  636. They're just so used to saying, yes.

  637. Now that, like, man, even at a slight prompt, I mean, imagine

  638. like, this thought goes through your head.

  639. Like, yeah, I don't, I don't really want to give this guy

  640. money, but it'd be awesome to see him walk.

  641. And then God's like, do it. And it's just that subtle little

  642. do it that, that, that still small voice in the back of your

  643. in your in your head that says, well, then just do it.

  644. And they just respond. They just absolutely respond in

  645. real time. And maybe that's what that is.

  646. I'm not sure. Yeah, I love that.

  647. No, that's what if. I don't know, but I'd, I'd like

  648. to see this guy. I want to see this guy walk.

  649. And what if? What if in that moment, that

  650. little whatever that thought or that prayer spoken back from

  651. Peter and John, I, I want to see this guy walk.

  652. It was not God's response, at least at least in this moment.

  653. I want that too. And that and and then and then

  654. it's and then it's played out. So law filled words, Peter,

  655. Peter's annoyed and accusatory of of the people.

  656. But then verse 17, Grace comes back into the conversation.

  657. Peter says. And now, brothers, I know that

  658. you acted in ignorance, as did also your rulers.

  659. But what God foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that

  660. is, Christ, would suffer, He thus fulfilled.

  661. Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted

  662. out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of

  663. the Lord, and that He may send the Christ appointed for you

  664. Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all

  665. the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy

  666. prophets. Long ago Moses said, The Lord

  667. God worries up for you like a prophet like me from your

  668. brothers. You shall listen to him in

  669. whatever he tells you. And it shall be that every soul

  670. who does not listen to what the prophet to that prophet shall be

  671. destroyed from the people. And all the prophets who have

  672. spoken from Samuel and those who came after him also proclaimed

  673. these days you are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant

  674. that God made with your father's saying to Abraham.

  675. And in your offspring shall all the families of the earth be

  676. blessed. God having raised up his servant

  677. and sent him to you first to bless you by turning everyone of

  678. you from your wickedness. The message of grace abounds

  679. here. Peter reminds them, yes, you did

  680. these wrongdoings. You chose Barabbas over Jesus.

  681. You chose Jesus to be destined to die at at Pilot's hand and

  682. well, Pilot washed his head. But.

  683. Yeah. Jesus to be sentenced to die and

  684. Peter turns it around and reminds them that God's promise

  685. hasn't changed right. He chose you long ago all your

  686. father's and that people you still are the same people.

  687. So turn repent, come back into the fullness of this plan.

  688. God actually has blessing for you.

  689. He sent Jesus here first to bless you that you would know

  690. 1st and and turn from your wickedness.

  691. God wanted to save you first from all of this, so respond.

  692. It's an amazing thing to watch Peter just use what we call law

  693. and gospel so effectively. So like, hey, here's here's what

  694. your sin looks like. Here's where you have morally

  695. and ethically failed over and over again.

  696. But but there's still something out there that is greater than

  697. your failure. There is this Christ who has

  698. been prophesied from the beginning, from the beginning of

  699. time, God knew what he was going to do.

  700. This was his definite plan, as the Bible says.

  701. And so to know that like, regardless of my failure,

  702. regardless of my infinitely small faith that I don't use

  703. properly, that I don't speak well enough, there's still God

  704. who's on my side, who's cheering me on.

  705. And he does that for all of us who, who are putting our faith

  706. in our belief in him, regardless of how many times we failed.

  707. And to have that level of forgiveness, to have that level

  708. of somebody who deeply loves you, no matter how flawed you

  709. are. I, I really, I really, really

  710. believe to the extent and to the degree that we can understand

  711. how deeply loved we are. And human words just don't do it

  712. justice. But to that same degree, like

  713. man, there's, there's power in that, there's confidence in

  714. that, there's the ability to just speak truth in that.

  715. And that's what the Gospel gives us.

  716. Amen, Amen. It's so good.

  717. And you're you're absolutely right.

  718. Law gospel. We don't just say that because

  719. it's a cliche thing. We see it lived out in, in how

  720. scriptures, even like Paul, we can get into that, his contrast

  721. between convicting and grace and and and those things and Peter

  722. right here, same thing hitting them hard with with the guilt.

  723. And but God steps in and has already not even steps in.

  724. He already stepped in. You ignored him and he's still

  725. there waiting for you to turn back and repent.

  726. Yeah. That's awesome.

  727. Chapter 4 comes upon us and we covered, I covered pretty

  728. extensively. We're we're kind of going back

  729. and recapping Chapter 3 because I didn't have a whole lot of

  730. leftovers. Honestly, from what I reached on

  731. in, in chapter 4 verses 23 through 31, I know I went long.

  732. It was almost 40 minutes and I didn't leave a whole lot out.

  733. That's maybe why it was that long because I didn't leave any

  734. leftovers for the podcast. But we do want to kind of recap

  735. how we got to that. Point so I wanted to bring up

  736. because I just, you know, it's it's so cool when that happens,

  737. whether whether that's from a spiritual point or like a a

  738. public speaking point. I think there's something so

  739. cool about having an illustration that carries the

  740. whole way through and it seems kind of silly.

  741. But like this, this game show you brought up who wants to be a

  742. millionaire? Like the the safe points like

  743. that hit me right across the head and I was just like, oh

  744. man, like that is so true. And that's, and that's why it's

  745. an effective illustration is because that's so true.

  746. That idea of having like, OK, I made it this far.

  747. Good enough for me. No more boldness needed.

  748. I, I think I have what I came for and that's good enough.

  749. And Oh my goodness, the fact that we do that in our spiritual

  750. lives. Yeah, I know Jesus.

  751. I'm, I'm good. I've been baptized.

  752. I'm good. Like, I don't, I don't need to

  753. pursue this thing further. It's what we warn confirmation

  754. students of, isn't it? Like, hey, you've, you've

  755. learned a lot. You you shouldn't have a, a good

  756. understanding of what the gospel is now and how many of them are

  757. like, yeah, I'm good, I'm good. I can just yeah, I'm fine.

  758. And and we don't push, we don't pursue.

  759. We don't. We don't, man, I said a couple

  760. weeks ago. We have a very big God, but we

  761. ask very small things of him. And that's our mistake because

  762. he wants to do incredible, amazing things in and through us

  763. and in our lives and in the lives of the people that we care

  764. about. But no, I'm good.

  765. I'm glad. I'm glad that landed for you.

  766. I thought it might have been a, an old reference or a weird

  767. reference, but yeah, that wasn't the point of that game.

  768. The point of this Christian life is the point of that game is the

  769. $1,000,000 prize, right? Is, is, is the work done, the

  770. harvest fulfilled that that part of it, not these sort of safe

  771. spots where we could just bank this and turn around and go home

  772. for the day, right? So I'm glad, I'm glad that

  773. landed. I thought it was so powerful.

  774. Yeah, I really did good. Yeah, so upon before before we

  775. get to that, just recapping the response from the leaders and

  776. the and the Sadducees here in response to all this, Peter

  777. making a call to repentance, the crowd's reaction to their

  778. miraculous healing of this beggar.

  779. Chapter 1. Chapter 4, Verse one.

  780. As they were speaking to the people, the priest and the

  781. captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them greatly

  782. annoyed because they were teaching the people and

  783. proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

  784. And they arrested them and put them in custody until the next

  785. day, for it was already evening. But many of those who had heard

  786. the word believed, and the number of the men came to about

  787. 5000. Oh my goodness.

  788. Yeah, to be greatly annoyed, that Greek word, it's it's

  789. burdened as of somebody has greatly disturbed you, burdened

  790. to the point that you feel greatly disturbed.

  791. You know, I don't know, I when I'm hangry, I get greatly

  792. disturbed at stupid things. But when I'm my normal self, it

  793. probably takes a lot to like actually disturb me, like down

  794. to my core. And that's what happens.

  795. They see this guy rejoicing the name of God, which you would

  796. think, man, where can I get some of that?

  797. And instead it greatly disturbs them, like down to their bones.

  798. They cannot handle this. It just it rubs them raw and

  799. they hate it. And it's like, how can you hate?

  800. How can you be deeply disturbed that this man, man who couldn't

  801. walk, is now jumping up and down and rejoicing and praising to

  802. God that you proclaim to love? How can you be disturbed by

  803. that? It's madness.

  804. It it is madness and that yeah, Peter and John, these guys are

  805. really making the healing beggars and stuff.

  806. How dare, right? Yeah, like, oh, come on, man.

  807. It's yeah, I I love that moment that greatly annoyed.

  808. I think that's that that speaks directly to the heart position

  809. because that's the thing, like, OK, when when somebody's annoyed

  810. or upset, is it about what's happening around them or is it

  811. about the position of their heart and how they're reacting?

  812. We hear that all the time in like popular psychology or

  813. whatever, Like, hey, it's not about what they've done, It's

  814. about your reaction, right? Because your reaction says

  815. something about your heart position, your thought process,

  816. it has far less usually to do with the thing itself, and

  817. usually more to do with you. Yeah, and it's the the reaction

  818. that we kind of enter into this courtroom scene now the the

  819. elders are examining them and asking them more details about

  820. it. And verse 8 and chapter 4 says,

  821. then Peter filled the Holy Spirit said to them, rulers of

  822. the people and elders, if we are being examined today concerning

  823. a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has

  824. been healed. Let it be known to all of you

  825. and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ

  826. of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead by

  827. him, this man is standing before you.

  828. Well, and this sets him off in another way.

  829. Peter's doubling down. This is what I said.

  830. This is my story. I'm sticking to it and and you

  831. can't change my mind in this verse 13 when they saw the

  832. boldness of Peter and John and perceive that they were

  833. uneducated common men, they were astonished.

  834. They recognized that they had been with Jesus and seeing the

  835. man who is healed standing beside them, they had nothing to

  836. say in opposition. Their only chance at this point,

  837. remember, they are greatly annoyed.

  838. They I, I, I feel like at this point they almost wish that

  839. Peter and John were just claiming to be some sorcerer

  840. magicians who want to say, Yep, no, you know what I did that I

  841. healed this man. I think, I think the church

  842. leaders would have more readily accepted that at this point.

  843. Right. Like that's what they wanted to

  844. hear more so than Nope. It was the power of God.

  845. It it was Jesus of Nazareth whom we proclaim doing this.

  846. And that's just crazy to me that they would have wanted Peter and

  847. John to. I feel like that would have been

  848. more of a threat if there were these two crazy healer magician

  849. guys going around. Why?

  850. Why would you want that? And they charge the verse 18.

  851. They call them and charge them not to speak or teach at all in

  852. the name of Jesus. And Peter and John are just

  853. like, Nope, pass, but not going to keep proclaiming the name of

  854. Jesus actually. So that gets us to the point of

  855. this prayer for boldness. They were released.

  856. They kind of recounted what happened to to their close

  857. friends, those in the church close to them.

  858. And this and this prayer for boldness that we talked about in

  859. verses 23 through 31 comes up. So just a wild kind of sequence,

  860. Peter and John remaining faithful and obedient to what

  861. was tasked with them, filled with the Holy Spirit and, and

  862. acting that out. They, they did the preparatory

  863. work beforehand. They received the gift of the

  864. Holy Spirit. And once they had that gift,

  865. they, they didn't waste it, right?

  866. They didn't. They didn't let it, just they

  867. didn't squander it. Yeah, one of the things that we

  868. see sometimes that's really helpful is to read what's not

  869. being said. So and I you, you brought that

  870. up on Sunday a little bit to the extent like, what are they not

  871. praying for? Oh, they're not praying for

  872. safety. They're not praying for Lord.

  873. Can you make sure that they don't throw us in jail again?

  874. No, they're like, give me more of what you already gave me so

  875. we can keep pushing hard. And I think that's an amazing

  876. thing. And and it's true like you, you

  877. said it so well on Sunday, I would have to listen to it

  878. again. But you brought up the Lord's

  879. Prayer. Like that first part of Lord's

  880. Prayer has nothing to do with my physical needs.

  881. And that's how we start. And ultimately that's how we

  882. finish. Like man, it is really about the

  883. power of God, and if I'm trusting and believing in that,

  884. then I can trust and believe that even when things get

  885. difficult, even when I feel like resources are short, God knows.

  886. He knows that like, so it's not bad to ask for safety and

  887. resources and the things we need.

  888. But like ultimately, like if our heart is fixed on God's will and

  889. our heart is fixed on his power and his agenda, the other things

  890. are going to be taken care of, right?

  891. Seek his Kingdom 1st and all of these things will be added to

  892. you. And so I mean, that's dude,

  893. that's just solid advice. Seek his Kingdom 1st.

  894. And Jesus isn't joking. He's not messing around.

  895. Like, just do that and let me handle the rest.

  896. I'll handle the little details and I'll also handle the big

  897. ones. But I want you to want the big

  898. things. I there was a phrase from I

  899. can't remember what podcast it was this last week that I was

  900. listening to, but this guy said, he said, show me, tell me about

  901. your cares. Show me where your cares are and

  902. that's where your Christ is. And are we wrapped up in the

  903. things that we need in the things that we're short on, in

  904. the things that we're worried about?

  905. If we were more fixated on the goodness of God, the greatness

  906. of God, his Kingdom, would those would our cares with those

  907. secondary things, would we be as worried about them?

  908. Would we be as focused on them or distraught about them if we

  909. just focused on Father? Holy is your name, your Kingdom

  910. come, your will be done. Like those sort of things.

  911. Maybe our needs, maybe our worries would pale in

  912. comparison, right? I think that's the model that we

  913. see here. Well, cause in Paul, Paul's

  914. going to get into that, you know, you know, the, the, the

  915. troubles and the worries and the hardship and the torture I've

  916. endured here, they're nothing compared to the glory of God.

  917. They're nothing like it doesn't, it doesn't even, it's, it's not

  918. even a wind that moves my hair. It's nothing to me like, and I

  919. just, you know, I think that that kind of mind state though,

  920. that kind of frame of mind and way of thinking that like, yeah,

  921. you, you really can't do anything to me that's going to

  922. shake me because I'm so Kingdom minded.

  923. That is hard for people to engage with.

  924. We don't know. We don't know how to react to a

  925. person like that, because I've met people like that and I'm

  926. like, I don't, I don't know what to do with you.

  927. I, I feel, I feel like you're so, you know, I've heard this

  928. before, but you're so heavenly minded.

  929. What good are you on earth, right?

  930. We say that or we think that subtly, and it's like, but if we

  931. were all more focused that way, imagine what we could get done.

  932. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. And I'm not, I don't think we're

  933. trying to say that it's just a a switch you can flip.

  934. That's I mean it is in in in some ways, but it's also day at

  935. a time. It's what I was, it's what I was

  936. talking about towards the end of the message too.

  937. If there's, there's habits, there's things that restructure

  938. the psychology of your brain, even even even the physical

  939. nature of, of your brain and your attitudes.

  940. When we, when we stay and dwell in these things in the word of

  941. God and in a prayer life even, or an attitude towards God, that

  942. is him first, not me first. That's going to that's going to

  943. reshape your thinking and you're probably not going to feel it on

  944. the first day. You're probably not going to

  945. feel it on even the second or third day.

  946. But after a week, after a month of, of recalibrating that way, I

  947. think it's just a, a snowball effect.

  948. That's that's just all of a sudden this is your attitude

  949. towards God. You are much more focused on his

  950. things, not your things. And along the way, he's probably

  951. taking care of your taking care of your things a lot better than

  952. you were anyway. Right.

  953. Like ironically, no. Yeah.

  954. So we just get we get caught up in our in our selfishness in

  955. ourselves and that anything else from you kind of in response or

  956. recap or questions you want to. No, I just, I do think like it.

  957. It's a moment of like light hearted truth of like, I really

  958. want to be annoying for Jesus. That would be fun, right?

  959. I really want to be annoying for Jesus.

  960. That's a light hearted way to say that.

  961. But like, man, there's a lot of truth to that.

  962. Like, I don't know, we probably even as Christians, we've

  963. probably met the like, what we think is, Oh my gosh, they're

  964. way over the top. You know, all they talk about is

  965. faith. All they talk about is Jesus,

  966. Jesus, Jesus, you know, and it's like some of us again, even as

  967. Christians, we're like, man, I, I don't know if I that's too

  968. much. I don't know if I have the

  969. energy for that guy today. And it's like, but why wouldn't

  970. I want to be that guy? Because that guy, he is on fire.

  971. And guess what? He doesn't care about what you

  972. think. What?

  973. You think about. Like that man is living in real

  974. gospel freedom. And again, to the extent that

  975. you could have nearly an entire community of people like that

  976. all of a sudden, like we just don't consider the little daily

  977. things all that meaningful. Whether it's the stuff I own

  978. going back to chapter 2, like, yeah, I don't care.

  979. I can sell half a field. And now five people are taking

  980. care of like, I don't need that. Like God's going to provide for

  981. me anyway. And so everything going back to

  982. cross, everything going back to grace, everything going back to

  983. the gospel all of a sudden, if if that's really where we can

  984. stay. And I think it's possible

  985. because, again, I've met very flawed humans who are like that.

  986. And it's like, OK, there's a real shot at this.

  987. Just like there's a real shot at creating that Acts Chapter 2

    Acts 2 chapter mention

  988. church. We got a real chance at this if

  989. we really embrace the gospel message and we really live that

  990. out in freedom. That's powerful.

  991. It's cool. Well, friends, thanks for

  992. hanging with us and taking in some more conversation.

  993. And well, I don't know what that was at the beginning of the

  994. show, but I have. Hopefully.

  995. I'm sorry to everybody who has a Southern accent.

  996. I love you guys. I love you guys.

  997. You're the best. Hopefully you stuck with us to

  998. this point to to hear that. And yeah, so we'll be back next

  999. week. I think you're getting into our

1000. first important person. Do you have impactful person?

1001. How did you label I can't I can't think of your you outlined

1002. the whole pivotal person. That's what you use.

1003. I like the alliteration there the first pivotal person in in

1004. the story of Acts. We might be getting into some

1005. Steven next week and it's going to how the Lord worked through

1006. him well. Because you know, up to this

1007. point, it's all been fun and games and healing and oh, look

1008. at this. And, and now it's about to get

1009. really real in a, in a very difficult way.

1010. So kind of looking forward to that.

1011. Yeah, continuing on in Acts and multiplying Church.

1012. Thanks for hanging with us for a bit.

1013. Hope you have a blessed week.
