Hey, guys. Good morning.

How's everybody doing? That's good.

All right, so if you. Have your Bibles going to be in

the book of Genesis chapter 1? You don't even got to go that

Bibles, go ahead and get those out.

And man, before I jump into this thing, we are in a new sermon

series called The Gospel, God's Plan for All People and What I

Want to do these next couple of weeks.

Is walk us through the. Insurance and outs of the.

Gospel message What? Is it?

What is it about? What's up with?

This thing called sin that that jacks everything up like how

does? It work.

Why did Jesus have to die? Like.

Like what is? Redemption.

What is Sanctify? Like what is all these?

Pieces and these next. Couple weeks, we're going to be

walking through this thing. Called the gospel and my prayer

and my hope is not just for you personally.

But also as a church that you get so comfortable with it that

you. Feel more confident talking

about it and a lot of us. You know what?

What? Whenever.

It comes to the. Gospel or sharing the gospel?

You know we. We hear these words, but do you

truly? Know how to share the?

Gospel message with somebody and many of us don't feel.

Confident in that. So I want to.

Just kind of kick us off before we dive into the text.

There's a big. Study done by Barna.

And the spiritual lives. In the United.

States and this. Came out recently and what they

found was that there's a vast majority of Americans, almost

92% believe. That Jesus was a real.

Person that Jesus was. Really.

Here he existed. He was.

Born. Jesus.

Walked the planet, so they they're saying that Jesus is

real. Which is awesome, but now this

is where it gets. Funky, though.

Because only. 56% believed that Jesus was God.

So even though people believe that Jesus is a real.

Person they don't really believe much in the.

Deity of Christ, but. Then even.

On top of that only. 52%. Believed that Jesus was sinless.

So a lot of. People don't believe.

That there's a way? That somebody could walk on this

earth. And live a perfect life gets a

little bit better, you know, like. 6 out of 10 Americans.

Say that you do have. To make a commitment to.

Follow Christ or. To live in Christianity, but.

What's wild is this last statistic because. 63% of all of

those who. Believe that Jesus was real.

Are conflicted between following Jesus and living a life of good.

Deeds. In order.

To get to heaven. So even though they believe.

In Christ, even though they they claim to know Christ.

Even though they go to. Church on Sunday mornings.

The messaging. That they're receiving.

Is not the knowledge in the revelation of God's Word so we

we live in a nation where we're hearing all these things and

we're. Churches about you.

And everything is about. Like your life?

And and how God wants. You to be successful and.

And wants you to flourish And, and on top of that, we're

missing the essence of the gospel message and the gospel.

Is actually what changes you. That's why I love what Paul.

Proclaims Romans 116 I mean, or 116, right?

For I'm not. Ashamed of the gospel because it

is the power of God that. Brings salvation to everyone

who. Believes first to the Jew.

Then to the gentile so. We know that.

This gospel is for everybody, so if.

We're going to explain the. Gospel of Jesus Christ.

To a post Christian society. And when I say that, that means

that people kind of have a gist. Of church and a gist of who

Jesus is I I. Think we need to go?

All the way back. Back into time.

I'm joking, right? We had.

To go all the way back. And talk about the beginning.

We have to go back. To seeing God himself.

Because whenever we see the. Story of the gospel it.

Begins all the way back in creation, and So what?

We're going to do today is there's there's two.

Points I want us to understand. All right, so there's. 2 main

points of what I want you to take.

Away point. One is that God is creator.

God is the Creator. Of all things.

But #2 he's also. Holy and righteous.

So God didn't just create everything, but he did it in

such a. Way that it shows his glory.

It shows His Holiness. And it shows his righteousness

all through. Creation.

Now here's the thing. If if you and I get this one

piece wrong, it's going to Jack up everything else in life.

So if you don't. Really understand that God is.

Creator if you don't get. That God is holy and righteous,

then the. Way that you think?

Of Jesus is going to be wrong. The way that you pray.

Is going to be wrong the way that?

You view the Holy Spirit. Is going to be wrong.

It's going to cause a. Domino effect of things that are

wrong. So we got to understand this

piece. Of God is our Creator.

And God is holy and. Righteous.

So we see that God is the. Creator of the heavens and the

earth. Look at Genesis chapter 1.

Genesis 1 · chapter mention

We're just going to read the first like.

Four or five verses. All right, so Genesis.

One starting in verse one and this is what.

The word of the Lord. Says in the beginning God

created the heavens and the earth.

Now the earth was formless and empty darkness.

Was over the surface of the. Deep and the.

Spirit of God was hovering. Over the waters and God.

Said, let there be light, and there was light.

God saw that the light was good, and he.

Separated the light from darkness.

God called the light. Day in the.

Darkness, he called night, and there was.

Evening and there was morning. And that.

Was just the first day. So what I want us to understand

so when we. Look at the gospel through.

The lens of creation .1 is that God's creation is a

demonstration. Of His glory.

So God didn't just create things, but He did it in a way.

To show off His glory, He did it in a way for us to see.

God in all of creation and we see this even in Scripture like

Psalms 19 one says the heavens. Declare the glory of God.

The sky above proclaim his handiwork.

Man I love Romans 120. This is like one of my favorite.

Verses because it leaves us with.

No excuse. Romans 120 says this, For since

the creation of the world, God's invisible qualities, His eternal

power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being

understood from what has been made.

So that people are left without excuse.

So as God is. Creating the universe as God is

making this I want us to understand.

That it is to show off His glory and we also.

Have to understand something that God created everything with

it just. Speaking.

God made matter, He made time, He made space.

There was nothing before God showed up in the beginning.

God and then you have those people that are like in.

Like Nacho Libre, I don't. Believe in God, I believe in

science and I'm like, that's cool.

God created science too. God created it all.

He's the one that. Started all this and when we

talk about his glory, I started like so I I, I consider.

Myself. A little bit well traveled.

I'm not saying this to flex, I'm just saying.

And I remember in 2015, our team went to go see the Taj Mahal in

India. And when I saw the Taj.

Mahal. I'm like, you know, it's one of

the seven wonders of the world. I was like, wow, that's actually

pretty. Cool, what impressed me more?

About the Taj Mahal. The guy that built it.

He built two other mosques identical to use that as a

measuring standard. For the actual Taj.

So he didn't. Just build the Taj.

He's like, you know what? We need to do.

Let's build 2 massive structures. 1st.

And. Then I'm going to build what I

want to build. That impressed me way.

More than the way. That this thing looked.

And there's some creation of man that I look at.

I'm like wow, like. I can't believe somebody made

that. Now here's another confession.

If you guys that don't know me, I'm not.

The kind of guy. That that gets really.

Interested in the intricacies? Of how something is made.

I'm not the guy that goes somewhere and I'm like I.

Wonder how they built that. I wonder what he was thinking.

I wonder how long it took to make this ceiling.

How did they get like? That's not me.

I'm like. Just show me the ocean.

Like let me just sit. My shirt off in front of the.

Beach and get cooked that's. Vacation for me.

But that's not that's not what I do.

So when I see a structure, it's in my bed.

I'm I'm amazed that somebody could do that, but I'm just

like, wow. That's cool.

However, I also. Got a chance to experience the

Grand Canyon? Now when I.

Went to see the Grand Canyon. I had no words.

Like I looked. Out and I'm like, yeah, this,

this makes no sense. Like how in the world can

something like this exists? Like I was speechless.

I was. So interested and then the.

Guy that's talking about like. Man, there's like skeletons.

Of like fish and stuff. Like.

Right there. And I'm like, so intrigued.

That this actually exists in. Nature and when you see.

It your mind is blown, you're like, there's no.

Way that this could actually. Happen.

But it did, because God. I've also seen like a.

Redwood tree in California man. I've also.

Seen like man when you go to Montana, you see.

Yellowstone and you see this. Mass land and you're just like

how in the. World is this real?

Like there's no picture. There's no like photography.

There's nothing even like just think about like a sunset in

Texas as you're driving home trying not to crash because

you're. Blinded by the sun.

But you see these super bright colors like how does that?

Work like I've seen like I've seen the ocean.

That is so. Blue.

Like it looks like a like Livy colored it.

Like, I, I've just seen all these things and I'm, I'm

watching nature and I'm watching and, and there's no way that I,

I'm, I'm looking at this and there's no.

Way that as I look. At this and I think.

Yeah, I'm the center of the universe.

It's. Impossible it actually.

Takes your breath away. It actually shows you.

That you're not all that there. Is in life.

That that we have a greater creator.

Who? Spoke.

All of this into existence. And you see his glory.

In nature and you see his glory in his creation and it's hard to

explain it. But when you.

Do see this grandeur of creation, man.

It calls out to the human heart, and it causes.

You to pause and look. Man, even watching a.

Thunderstorm come in in Texas. It's terrifying yet beautiful

where I'm just standing outside. I'm like.

Whoa, this is cool. And Rachel's yelling at me.

She's like. It's a tornado warning.

I'm like, bro, it ain't going to happen.

We're in. Fort Worth.

Right. Like, like I prayed.

It's cool. No, I'm so good.

So. Like like you.

Watch this front coming in and it's like the power.

And the majesty of nature. You know this last Friday I was

up here. And man, it was a bad

thunderstorm like it was. Loud like the lightning.

In this area was crazy. Like it was so loud.

It was like God. Clapped his hands right in my.

Ear and I was like, man, that is the.

Power of God. And the reason why we don't have

Internet this morning, but we're going to get it fixed on Monday.

So so we see this. And listen in all of this every.

Single day from verses 1. Through verses like. 24 and 25.

There's 2. Phrases that we continually see

as God is creating the world and the universe.

God said and. It was we see this.

All through we see this all through these verses and God

said, let there be light. And there was.

And God said let there. Be the sea.

And it was. What do we see from God when God

speaks? It happens.

And everything begins to build up on.

Itself so as you start. Reading the book of Genesis in

chapter 1. We don't just see the scope of.

Creation, but we also see. The importance of every.

Single new thing for every single.

Day and we see like. God created light, then he

created the sea, then he created land, and then the moon, and

then the sun, then birds and fish and animals and everything

is happening with a. Specific purpose and a specific

reason to show off His glory and it.

Comes to the pinnacle. Of his.

Creation in verse 26 where he creates mankind, He creates man

and he creates. Woman, Which leads us to #2.

God's design of us. Is a display of the.

Gospel. The way that God creates

humanity and the way. That he puts us in.

Relationship with one another. Shows us.

That design shows us the gospel, so he doesn't shows his glory

and his grandeur and His Holiness and righteousness and

everything that he's created. But when he.

Creates mankind When He creates woman and man, He also creates

them in relationship with one another.

To show off the gospel message, look at verse 27 in Genesis 1.

Look what it says. We'll start on verse 27.

So God. Created mankind in his own image

in the image. Of God he.

Created them male and female. He created them, so God created

mankind. I'm just.

Reading that. Twice.

My bad. Verse 28.

God blessed them. So he didn't just create.

Them, but he blessed them. And how do you bless them?

Look what he. Says be fruitful.

And increase in number fill the earth and.

Subdue it. Rule over the.

Fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, and for every living

creature that moves on the ground.

Verse 29. Then God said, I give you every

seed. Bearing plant on the.

Face of this whole earth. And every tree that has fruit

and seed in it. They will be yours for food to

all the beasts of the. Earth and all the birds of the

sky and all the creatures that move on the ground.

Everything that has breath. Of life.

In it I give every green plant for food.

And and it was so and. God.

Saw all that he had. Made and it was what It wasn't

just good, it was very good. And there was.

Evening and there was morning. On the 6th day.

I thought it was interesting that he says that.

It's not just. Good.

It's very good. Like what if somebody were?

Like if. Rachel like, do you?

Like it. And I'm like, it was good.

It's like, but if I say, oh, it was very good.

Guys, that takes it. Up a notch.

And what God? Is saying, is that everything?

He created, he looked at it and said it was very good.

Which means it was perfect. Everything that God created is.

Perfect now. I'm going to, I'm going to push

a little bit now when we talk about the gospel, to be honest.

With us the gospel. Message.

Is it just kind of? Pushes a little bit about what

we're about, so. It could be a little offensive

sometimes. On what?

We grew up with and what we believe so if we are created.

Right, so God created us. And we are made, therefore we

are. Owned so if God created man and

woman, God formed us and he made it in his image so we.

Are all image bearers of the holy and righteous God, the

Creator of the universe? That means that you are not of

your own and you're not of yourself.

You are owned, God created. US.

Therefore, he knows exactly the. Perfect.

Way that you and I function. He knows how we thrive.

He knows what we need. In order to do.

Great in life. So God, what that means?

Is that God has giving every single thing in the universe

purpose, including human beings. Do you get that?

Like you are not like a generic mutation.

You're not an accident. You're not, you're not like just

some drunken night. You're not here.

Because of a rape. You're not here just because

it's like. Somebody got drunk?

No like. God has.

You here for a reason and a purpose, and I think if we

understand that God is all. Creator.

And we understand that he's perfect and holy.

And righteous and that God. Makes everything according to

his will. That means that.

You're not here by accident, you are purposed.

Listen. Man I love Jeremiah chapter one

verse 13 says before. I.

Formed you in the womb, I knew. You before you were born.

I set you apart. I.

Appointed you as a prophet to the nations so because.

God created us. That means that God has the

right to tell us how to live. God is our.

Creator so that means that. He has the right.

To tell us how things function and how things work.

He's like, man, listen, I want you to thrive.

I want you to do. Good, that's why.

God's like I've given you this to eat.

I've given you this. How to live, God tells.

Adam and Eve, he's like, I want you to eat from these trees in

chapter 2, but this one, don't eat from it.

So God is already. Giving boundaries and and he's

showing us how to live and how to do this.

For the good of his. Creation because everything has

a reason and a purpose. The Bible tells us that God is

good, therefore. God knows what's best.

For his people. And the way that God.

Tells us this is that he gives us his perfect law that it

would. Preserve and increase our

happiness and our well-being in life.

So God is giving us all these things.

This is something that's important for us to know.

And God knows how his creation is to function.

He knows what's. Best for us.

He knows how to. Thrive and look what?

He tells Adam and Eve in chapter 2, or look what he tells man and

woman. So go to Genesis chapter 2.

Genesis 2 · chapter mention

We're going to look at verses 18.

So it's just maybe like one more page over Genesis 218.

It says the Lord said. For it is not good for man to be

alone. I will make a helper suitable

for him. So the Lord God.

Caused the man to fall. Into a deep sleep and while he

was. Sleeping he took.

One of the man's ribs, and then. Closed up the place with flesh,

then the Lord God. Made a woman for from the.

Rib he had taken out of the man and.

He brought her to the. Man and the man said this is

bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh.

She shall be called woman. For she was.

Taken out of man. That.

Is why man leaves his father and mother and.

Is to be united. With his wife.

And they become one. Flesh Adam and his wife we're

both naked and they felt no shame.

Man, Pretty good. So God.

Because he knows how his creation functions.

He's like, you know what it's. Not good for man to be alone and

even if you read before that Adam was roaming just doing the

work. Because let's just be honest.

God created men. To work.

That's all another sermon, but we see it in Scripture.

The way that he formed us, our biology, testosterone, our our

skin is thicker and it's all for work.

So God made us to. Work.

And he? Looks, man, you know it's not

good for man to be. Alone.

So I'm going to make him. A suitable what?

Look at the word a suitable helper.

And then he took the. Rib.

Why you take the rib? Because it's supposed to be side

by side each other. He didn't go to the foot where

man is on top. He didn't go for the head where

woman's on top, no. They are to be equal.

Helpers, you're to be a team, and God has given distinctions

to the woman that men do not have, and he gave.

Distinctions to men that. Women don't have Why?

Because they are to be complete with each other.

So whenever you hear this argument of like, well, like, I

don't know if I want to be a woman no more.

That is not. God's creation and.

We're going to talk about how that comes right because things.

Go bad real fast here. So it says.

We take God's law. So so so.

I want to say sorry, I'm jumping ahead.

So think about this. You have man and woman and he's

like Adam. You're not it's not good for

you. I'm going to build you a, I'm

going to give you a. Helper and then.

You guys are going to become one flesh guys in.

Scripture this is what. We call the cultural mandate

that God tells. Adam and Eve, he says.

I want you to subdue like I want you to feel the world God

created man and woman to be sexual beings.

You know, I'm pretty sure Adam did not look at Eve and be like.

So how are we going to do this? No, like I'm pretty sure they

understood. They get the biology of it all

because. God made man perfectly to

function perfectly. So God.

Also created sex to procreate and for the.

Enjoyment in the confines of being man and wife.

God is making all of this perfectly, and He's given.

This to us. So how does he display?

The Gospel in creating us. So there's three things that the

cultural mandate gives us #1. Procreation.

He he figures. He he makes us a way to fill the

earth, and the Bible says that. Listen, children are a.

Blessing from the Lord, not a curse.

They are a blessing from God to have kids, men to be able to

have. Kids, men, that's that's a.

Huge blessing in life. So so his image.

Bearers and to. Fill the Earth is a.

Blessing. We're sexual beings man.

He created sex for the confines of marriage like this is

something God put together Number.

Two illustration. So he didn't.

Just make them. From procreation, but also

illustration. What is he illustrating?

He's illustrating what it looks. Like for Christ to love the

church. If you guys are in Bible study,

man Ephesians. 6 Like we we see this.

What does it look like for Christ to love the church?

What does it look? Like for a husband to give his

life. For his wife.

The same way Christ gave. His life for the church.

What does it look like for a wife?

To live in submission to her husband the same way that Christ

submitted his life. For the church, for Christ to be

the head of the church. Same way that the husband should

be the head of his family. Guys, it's all symbolic here and

Jesus and God creates husband and wife as a.

Beautiful. Wedding as a beautiful marriage

in order to show. People, what it looks like, what

the gospel truly looks like. And the number 3 sanctification,

so we have procreation. We have.

Illustration but we also have sanctification Why?

Because marriage is a lifelong commitment.

So you don't just. Grow as a.

Person you grow together as persons.

Right, like your wife, your. Husband, as you guys walk in

Christ, you grow together. It's not going to be easy

because we're different personalities but also sin.

But as you walk. Together and as you.

Live life together. And as you love each other, God

uses marriage to. Draw you closer.

To him as and that's where we get sanctification.

Now guys, this sounds awesome, but if we're honest in this

room, some of your like man Ricky, that sounds great, but

that ain't me. It's not it's not me.

It's like man, I. Like you're talking about this.

Beautiful picture of marriage like.

Man mine looks way opposite. It don't look like that.

I didn't. You didn't say smack down in

there. What happened?

How did we go from this beautiful design of marriage,

procreation, sex, like a wonderful relationship with one

another? How did we go from?

That to. Yeah, it's not going to work.

What happens? How do we go from bad to worse?

Genesis chapter 3 hits. So as God is.

Genesis 3 · chapter mention

Designing this perfectly, not just in relation to him, but

also in relation to one another, Adam and Eve, what happens?

Sin enters the picture. Look at Genesis 3, Genesis 3.

We're just going to. Read a few verses.

And we'll talk more in depth next week, but I want us to

understand something. Look at look what happens here

Genesis 3 verse one says now the serpent was more crafty than

any. Other of the wild animals.

That the Lord. God had made and He.

Said to the woman. Did God really say you?

Must not eat from any tree. Of this garden Satan shows.

Up as. Something that belongs there a

lot of people like. Why snake?

Well, if he showed up as a Penguin there would be

questions. Ain't cold because Satan always

shows up as if he belongs, and it always and he.

Always makes these great promises and Satan can't create

anything, but he sure can't deceive you.

So what does he do? He tells Eve God's word and he.

Twists God's words around and he's like man because.

God said you can eat. Anywhere you want to, but just

don't eat from this tree. And then St. shows up.

He's like, man, did God really say you can't eat from this

tree? I mean, look how nice it is.

And then look how he like. Brings her in verse 2, the woman

said to the serpent, we must eat fruit from the trees in the

garden. But God did say you must not eat

fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and

you must not touch it or it. Will die.

You will, certainly. Die the serpent till the woman,

for God knows that when you eat from this tree.

Your eyes will be open and you will be like God, knowing good

and evil. What is the pool for Eve here?

What is? What is?

Satan trying to. Get her to do Satan.

Is saying listen, God didn't. Really.

Say. That and and men, you really

think you're going to die? But you're but but look.

At the enticement here, you're going to be able to understand

things like him. You're going to be like that.

So what happens? Selfishness, pride, ego.

All start. Creeping in when sin joins the.

Picture so as God creates. Man and wife.

Right, a suitable helper. For man.

They're supposed to be going. Side by side, now what creeps in

sin hits the picture and now it's.

This whole idea of selfishness. I want to be the one that I want

to know what God knows. I want to be like God, and

that's exactly how Satan got tossed out of heaven.

He wanted to be. Worshipped like God.

And God's like, no, that's not going.

To happen. Boom, he threw him out.

Satan uses the same thing, So what happens when God?

Creates a perfect situation. He gives us a law, and we look

at God's law and we rebel. Against it.

And we're like, God, I know you told us this, but I think.

I know better than you. I could do better.

Like this is going to impact me way better.

And I'm going to be honest, like, man, like I see this when

we look at marriage. How?

How? Ego and how selfishness, How all

these things begin. To Chris in like.

Come in and I started thinking even like our.

Culture. Think about like machismo.

Because here's what. Happens when sin creeps in and

when selfishness and pride creep in you.

We. What we end up doing is that we

take absolute truth what God has.

Given us and we make everything subjective.

Now it's all depends on like what we want, what benefits us.

And what we believe. And it doesn't matter what our

creator says, but as long as it helps me out.

So when we take something like machismo and that creeps into

our culture, it's like me man, me work, you, woman, you.

Just take care of kids. And you clean the.

House and I better have a sandwich and a beer when I get

home. OK, so if that's what your.

Perception of man looks like. Let me ask you A.

Question. What happens if she got a job?

Too. Where does that leave you?

Well, no, but like my job. Is more more important.

OK, well what happens if she makes more than you?

What if she's the main breadwinner here or not?

Does that make you? More or less than a man.

Yeah, Rick. But like The thing is.

It's like I get. Overwhelmed like I had to.

Work 9 hours instead of eight hours.

It's just. Harder.

Well, she has a job. She makes.

More than you and then plus she has to come home take.

Care of the kids. And fix the house like you want,

right? So if she's doing all this stuff

and you're only doing this stuff, who's the man?

So just. Because you got another.

Chromosome and you pee standing. Up that makes you a man.

That's not how this. Works.

That is not how this. Works.

And it's the same thing on the other side when feminism kicks

in, like, I don't need a man. I don't men.

Men suck, man. I don't need men.

OK, Until you. Get a flat tire.

Who's going to help me guys? I go back and forth all day.

But the point. Is is that?

When selfishness begins to creep in.

You're supposed to be a. Team not a competition, right?

Like man and woman are supposed to be.

Side by side, each other, loving each.

Other worshipping the Lord together growing.

Together for the glory of. God, but because sin crept in,

now it becomes me, my mine. And that is going to.

Fail a marriage every single time We're not built.

That way and when we. Take something that the creator

made. And God put.

Parameters around it and God's like this is how it's going to

function and because of our sinful nature and because our

rebelliousness. Toward God.

We want to try doing things our own way and it does not work

well. It ends up not doing well at all

and it. Crashes and it destroys.

And listen, this is exactly what sin does, and this is what we

call the bad news. Because before, there's good

news. There's got to be some bad news

and bad news. Is is that God?

As creator made everything perfect.

As God, as Creator made. Everything to function.

Exactly the way. That he intended it to.

God as Creator who's holy and righteous.

Gave us parameters so that way you and I could thrive.

And live. Awesome lives and be happy and

our hearts be growing and and just moving.

Together closer relationship to. Him, But then with sin we rebel

against our Creator. And what we tell God is that we.

Don't need your rules and I know more than you.

Selfishness and pride creep in. Now here's the problem.

Because God created us. And because God owns us, then

what do you do when your own creation rebels against you?

I don't know, maybe just wipe it and start all over again?

I could easily just destroy it. I could speak it out of.

Existence the same way I spoke it into existence.

So what does God do? Well, because God is all loving.

God creates. A solution to our

rebelliousness. Because he has.

To because he's holy and. Righteous and because God is

holy and righteous, our. Sin and our rebelliousness is

Why can't he leave? The guilty unpunished because

he's. A God of justice.

Sinned, we're all. Guilty of rebelling against our

We rebel. We think we know better than

Slow to anger, abounding in love and faithful, he does not leave

Suffering many of us that are going through some hard times.
