  1. A few months before our Lord would be crucified, he was in

  2. the northern part of Galilee. He was about 25 miles northeast

  3. of the Sea of Galilee, in a region called Caesarea Philippi.

  4. It was named such by Philip the Tetrarch because he wanted to

  5. name a city after Caesar, and of course his name as well, so that

  6. he would be well known. But it also separated it from

  7. Caesarea Meritima, which is on the sea.

  8. And our Lord and his disciples were in this region, and there

  9. were all kinds of false gods around them.

  10. And there had been, according to Greek mythology, a a Greek God

  11. by the name of Pan or Panas. It was called Panas before it

  12. was called Caesarea Philippi. He was said to have been born in

  13. a cave there. If you go there today, you can

  14. still enter that cave. And it was here where our Lord

  15. would give his men an exam. It was like their final exam,

  16. but the exam would only have one question.

  17. And if you understand the question and you get the

  18. question right, that's good news.

  19. If you get the question or the answer to the question wrong,

  20. well, that's bad news. And so he would ask them just

  21. one question, because it's the question that no man can ever

  22. escape or avoid. In fact, everybody in the room

  23. today is asked the same question because everyone will have to

  24. face the answer. And the question was simply

  25. this, who do men say that I am? The question focused on the

  26. identity of the Lord Jesus. And so the disciples would

  27. answer by saying, well, some say you're Jeremiah, others Elijah,

  28. some say you're John the Baptist.

  29. Some say you're you're just one of the prophets.

  30. In other words, everybody is saying that you're great, but

  31. nobody is saying that you are God.

  32. Now Christ didn't ask the question for information

  33. purposes. He knew what the religious

  34. leaders thought of him. They thought he was of Satan.

  35. And so he wasn't asking about what the religious leaders

  36. thought about his identity. He wanted to know what the

  37. Jewish people thought of his identity, and the Jewish people

  38. for all practical purposes, loved Jesus.

  39. It was the religious establishment that hated Jesus.

  40. So he asked the question, what is the popular opinion?

  41. Not that whatever the popular opinion was would change the

  42. ministry of our Lord. He just wanted to know what the

  43. popular opinion of his ministry was.

  44. After all, in a few short months, he would be crucified.

  45. And then he asked the question towards men.

  46. But who do you say that I am? It doesn't make any difference

  47. what the multitudes say. What do you say?

  48. Not the popular opinion. What is your personal opinion?

  49. Who do you say that I am? And Peter would speak for the 12

  50. He would say, Thou art the Christ, the Messiah, the Son,

  51. equal in nature to the living God.

  52. And the response that Christ gives is truly remarkable

  53. because the Lord says, blessed are you, Simon Barjona, for

  54. flesh and blood did not reveal that to you, but my Father who

  55. is in heaven revealed that to you.

  56. In other words, if you are to pass the ultimate exam, you

  57. cannot do it on your own. You have to have a divine

  58. enlightenment because flesh and blood cannot reveal that to you.

  59. I cannot convince you that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the

  60. living God. I can't convince you of that.

  61. I can preach to you. I can show you in Scripture

  62. where that's the case, but unless the Lord illuminates your

  63. heart and your mind, you will never believe that Jesus is the

  64. Christ, the Son of the living God.

  65. Why is that? Because you have been blinded.

  66. You've been blinded by Satan. You've been blinded from birth.

  67. You have a supernatural blindness.

  68. Therefore you need a supernatural enlightenment.

  69. The Bible says that this way in 2nd Corinthians 4 verse #3 And

  70. even if our gospel is veiled, that is veiled to those who are

  71. perishing. In this case, the God of this

  72. world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they

  73. might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ,

  74. who is the image of God. Satan has blinded the mind of

  75. those people who do not know him, so they will not believe

  76. that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh.

  77. And so in order for you to pass the ultimate exam, you cannot do

  78. it because you have a proper intellect.

  79. You cannot do it because you're a smart person or you've read a

  80. lot. The only way you can pass the

  81. ultimate exam is if the Father in heaven enlightens your soul

  82. to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living

  83. God. That's just remarkable.

  84. Now here's the good news for those of us who have been

  85. enlightened, for those of us who know the identity of Christ, we

  86. want to praise His name. We want to thank Him that He has

  87. revealed Himself to us. Well, we want to praise Him

  88. because we know the identity of the Christ child.

  89. We don't wonder as to who He is. We know who He is, which makes

  90. our praise of him brilliant, beautiful, because we glory in

  91. the fact that we have been enlightened to the truth of the

  92. gospel. And so it accentuates our

  93. praise. We want to honor the Lord.

  94. So as we journey this pathway of praise that we've been on now

  95. for for several weeks, the person of praise causes our

  96. journey to be filled with joy because of who Christ is.

  97. And so we have tried to unveil to you through the Scriptures

  98. the identity of the Messiah, the identity of the Christ child,

  99. the identity of of the Lord God of Israel.

  100. That is just so important. See Israel had a problem and

  101. that is this Hosea 4 verse #6 My people are destroyed for lack of

  102. knowledge. They do not know me.

  103. It's not that they didn't know the Scriptures that they knew

  104. the scriptures. We we saying come thou long

  105. expected Jesus. The expected one was a was a a

  106. title for the Messiah. Psalm 1/18/26 Psalm 40 verse #7

  107. He is called the Erica my, the expected one, the coming one.

  108. And even at the triumphal entry, Psalm 1/18/26 was quoted by the

  109. people of Israel. Blessed is he who comes in the

  110. name of the Lord. Blessed is the coming one.

  111. They hailed him as the expected one.

  112. It's the question that John the Baptist asked in in Luke's

  113. Gospel the the 7th chapter when he sent his men to go ask Jesus.

  114. Are you the expected one or should we expect someone else?

  115. Should we look for someone else? Are you the Messiah?

  116. Because the Messiah is the expected one.

  117. All of our expectations are in the coming Messiah.

  118. Are you him? But Israel did not know Him.

  119. They did not understand him. But we who do know him, we

  120. praise Him continually, we exalt His name, we magnify the Lord

  121. Jesus Christ. So as we journey along the

  122. pathway of praise, we're looking at the person of praise.

  123. And we began with the phrase Yahweh Hassinu, which means the

  124. Lord is my Maker. He's the one who forms me.

  125. He's the one who fashions me. And then we moved from there to

  126. Yave Sebayath, which is the Lord of armies.

  127. The one who forms me is the one who fights for me.

  128. And the last week we talked about Yave Rafi, which is the

  129. Lord is my shepherd, the one who who forms me and fights for me

  130. is the one who feeds me. And today I I want to take you

  131. to an Old Testament passage which is very familiar to us,

  132. but is one of the two chapters in the Old Testament that are

  133. absolutely pivotal to understanding the identity and

  134. the ministry of the coming Messiah.

  135. It's found in Genesis chapter 22.

    Genesis 22 chapter mention

  136. So if you got your Bible, turn back with me there, if you would

  137. please. Genesis chapter 22.

    Genesis 22 chapter mention

  138. And in Genesis 22, you have a couple of firsts.

  139. That is the first mention of certain words in the Bible.

  140. So again, as I said last week and the week before, whenever

  141. something is mentioned first in the Bible, you need to take

  142. note, You need to understand why this is the first time.

  143. So the Bible reads as follows. Genesis 22 verse #1 Now it came

  144. about after these things that God tested Abraham and said to

  145. him, Abraham, He said, here I am.

  146. He said take now your son, your only son whom you love.

  147. Isaac, stop right there. This is the first time the word

  148. love is mentioned in the Bible. That's very, very important

  149. because God is going to test Abraham as to his true love for

  150. him, the son of God, the living God.

  151. So he says, I want you to take now your son, your only son.

  152. But that wasn't his only son, because Ishmael was older.

  153. Ishmael was born first. But Ishmael was not the only

  154. begotten son. Isaac was the only begotten Son,

  155. the Son of choice, the Son who had the right to the

  156. inheritance. That was Isaac.

  157. And so when the Lord says take now your son, your, your only

  158. begotten Son, the Son of your love, OK, which is symbolic of

  159. Christ, who is the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and

  160. truth. And he was the only begotten

  161. son, the monogamies of of the Father, the the son of choice,

  162. the son of preeminence. He says, take the son that you

  163. love. And then he says this and go to

  164. the land of Moriah. That's the very important phrase

  165. because Moriah means foreseen, very important to the narrative.

  166. If you don't understand what Mariah means, you're going to

  167. miss the point of the entire narrative.

  168. It means foreseen. So God is telling Abraham, I

  169. want you to take your son, your only son, to a place that I have

  170. foreseen. That's the place called Mariah,

  171. the Book of Chronicles. It would be where Solomon would

  172. build the Temple on Mount Moriah.

  173. So he says, go to the land of Moriah and offer him there as a

  174. burnt offering on one of the mountains, of which I will tell

  175. you. So Abraham rose early in the

  176. morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men

  177. with him and Isaac's son. They split wood for the burnt

  178. offering and the Rose and went to the place of which God had

  179. told him. On the third day.

  180. Abraham raised his eyes and saw the place from a distance.

  181. Abraham said to his young men, Stay here with the donkey and I,

  182. and the lad will go over there, and we will worship and return

  183. to you again. The very first time the word

  184. worship is used in the Bible because worship always involves

  185. sacrifice. If you come to church and you

  186. don't sacrifice, you haven't worshiped.

  187. Worship us all about sacrifice, giving yourself away.

  188. And so the very first mention of the word worship, by the way,

  189. before Exodus chapter 20, before the 10 commandments were given,

    Exodus 20 chapter mention

  190. when God said you shall have no other gods before me, you

  191. should, you should only worship me.

  192. No other gods before that was ever given.

  193. The word worship is mentioned because it's all about

  194. sacrifice. And so God says, or Abraham

  195. says, I am, the lad will go up and worship and we will return

  196. to you. So it says verse 6, Abraham took

  197. the wood of the burnt offering and then laid it on Isaac his

  198. son, and took in his hand the fire and the knife.

  199. So the two of them walked on together.

  200. Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, my father.

  201. He said, here I am my son. He said, behold the fire in the

  202. wood. But where is the lamb for the

  203. burnt offering? Abraham said God will provide

  204. for himself the lamb for the burnt offering my son.

  205. So the two of them walked on together.

  206. Very important phrase. So the Lord God will provide for

  207. himself the land. The word provide is year a very

  208. important to the narrative. Again, why?

  209. Because God, we'll see. Because the word Yuri is the

  210. word of vision. It's used 1300 times in the Old

  211. Testament. All but 4 is it translated to

  212. see or be seen. The other four times it's

  213. translated to provide, but the 1296 other times it's used, it's

  214. used to see or be seen. So Abraham is telling his son

  215. Isaac the Lord will see for himself a lamb.

  216. Now remember they went to Moriah, which means foreseen.

  217. So on the place foreseen by God, God will see for himself the

  218. land that will be provided. So you read on.

  219. Then they came to the place of which God had told him.

  220. And Abraham built the altar there and arranged the wood, and

  221. bound to son Isaac, and laid him on the altar on top of the wood.

  222. Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knight to slay his

  223. son. But the Angel of the Lord, now

  224. that's the pre and card of Christ.

  225. The Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said,

  226. Abraham, Abraham. And he said, Here I am.

  227. He said, do not stretch out your hand against the lad and do

  228. nothing to him. For now I know that you fear

  229. God, since you have not withheld your son, your only Son, from

  230. me. You mean to tell me there's

  231. something that God doesn't know? For God says, now I know that

  232. you fear me. God doesn't say that for his

  233. purposes, He says it for Abraham's purposes.

  234. He says that Abraham, now I know.

  235. Meaning the knowledge of You fearing Me has been seen,

  236. because in Your worship You are willing to sacrifice that which

  237. is dearest to You on behalf of Me, and only those who fear My

  238. name are those who sacrifice that which is dearest to them on

  239. My behalf. Very, very important.

  240. And so you read on. It says that Abraham raised his

  241. eyes and looked, and behold, behind him a ram caught in the

  242. thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the

  243. ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the place of

  244. his son. Abraham called the name of that

  245. place Yahweh Yuray. The Lord will provide or better

  246. translation, The Lord will be seen, as it is said to this day.

  247. In the mount of the Lord it will be seen.

  248. In Moriah, the mount of the Lord, in the place foreseen by

  249. God, what will be seen a substitute in the place of

  250. Isaac. So when you go to John's gospel

  251. and read John 856, it says Abraham rejoiced to see my day.

  252. When did Abraham rejoice to see Christ's day?

  253. Genesis chapter 22. That's when Abraham rejoiced,

    Genesis 22 chapter mention

  254. because there he called the place the Lord will be seen.

  255. How did Abraham know that the Lord would be seen on the place

  256. foreseen by God unless it was revealed to him in a

  257. supernatural kind of way from God himself that there would be

  258. a substitutionary sacrifice on behalf of man which Christ the

  259. Messiah would provide so that we would not have to play pay the

  260. penalty for our sin? And so Abraham says, on this

  261. place the Lord will be seen. Yahweh Yuray, the Lord that

  262. forms me, Yahweh Hasinu, is the Lord who fights for me.

  263. Yabe Savayov, the Lord who fights for me, is the Lord who

  264. feeds me, Yabe Rafi. And the Lord who feeds me is the

  265. Lord who foresees all that will happen to me.

  266. Yabe Yuray, God sees everything. That's how He can feed you

  267. properly. That's how he can fight for you

  268. aggressively. That's how we can form you

  269. perfectly. Because he foresees everything.

  270. He foreknows it, but he also foresees it.

  271. He sees it well enough in advance because he is the the

  272. God of eternity, the eternal nature of God.

  273. He sees the past, the present, and the future all at once

  274. because He exists in the past, the present, and the future all

  275. at once. He sees it all.

  276. And therefore we can rest and praise His glorious name as we

  277. journey down the pathway of praise because of who He is.

  278. I can rest at ease this Christmas season.

  279. I can rest at ease all throughout the year because it's

  280. my God who foresees everything in advance.

  281. He is the one who was mapped out all my days before there was

  282. even yet one of them. He knows every event that will

  283. take place in the future. He knows what's going to happen

  284. to my family, in my marriage, in my work, in my school, in my

  285. play. He knows it all.

  286. He's foreseen it all, and He is my provider.

  287. That's how He can provide for us because He knows in advance all

  288. that will happen to me. Let me give you another

  289. description of our Lord. Turn me to Exodus chapter 15,

    Exodus 15 chapter mention

  290. Exodus chapter 15. And when you come to Exodus

Exodus 15 chapter mention Exodus 15 chapter mention

  291. chapter 15, you have the second experience of Israel having been

  292. LED out of Egyptian bondage. The first experience is when

  293. they come to the Red Sea and Pharaoh's army is bearing down

  294. upon them and they are afraid that they're going to die.

  295. And Moses says, stand still and watch the salvation of the Lord.

  296. Watch the delivering power of God.

  297. Watch the rescuing nature of God.

  298. Watch the saving nature of God at work.

  299. Of course, you know the story. You've seen the movie and the

  300. waters part. Israel goes through on dry land,

  301. right? Supernatural waters depart.

  302. There should be mud, but there was no mud.

  303. It was dry land. They walked through on dry land,

  304. and Pharaoh and his army, they went after them, and of course

  305. they all drowned in the sea. And then you have the song of

  306. Moses and Exodus chapter 15 concluded in verse #21 when

    Exodus 15 chapter mention

  307. Miriam said, sing to the Lord, for he is highly exalted.

  308. The horse and rider he has hurled into the sea.

  309. Can you imagine the excitement, the joy of Israel knowing that

  310. their God had performed a supernatural act right before

  311. their eyes, part of the Red Sea? I mean, how many gods can do

  312. that? None except the one true and

  313. living God who creates the sea. And they, they walk through on

  314. dry land and they were able to see the salvation of the Lord.

  315. They were able to experience it supernaturally.

  316. You. You would think that that would

  317. take them through at least another month.

  318. But three days later comes another test.

  319. Just three days to show you how quickly we forget what God has

  320. done. Look what it says.

  321. Verse #22 Then Moses LED Israel from the Red Sea, and they went

  322. out into the wilderness of sure, and they went in three days in

  323. the wilderness, and found no water.

  324. This is test #2. When they came to the to Marah,

  325. they could not drink the waters for of Marah, for they were

  326. bitter. Therefore it was named Marah.

  327. So the people grumbled at Moses, saying, What shall we drink?

  328. Then he cried out to the Lord, what?

  329. What happened to Israel? How do they go from celebrating

  330. God to complaining about where they're at?

  331. How do they go from sheer delight to disgruntlement in

  332. three days? How do they go from magnifying

  333. the name of God to murmuring against God's chosen leader?

  334. How does that happen? You can ask yourself the same

  335. question. How can you come to church on

  336. Sunday morning, get in your car, and three minutes later start

  337. yelling at your kids and yelling at your wife and your wife

  338. yelling at you? How does that happen?

  339. How can that it possibly be? Excuse me, but it happens all

  340. the time. So here's Israel three days

  341. after watching a supernatural act of God begin to murmur.

  342. There was no water. They began to complain, and

  343. Moses cried to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree very

  344. important to the narrative, and he threw it to the waters.

  345. The waters became sweet there. He made for them a statue and

  346. regulation, and there he tested them.

  347. And he said, If you will give earnest heed to the voice of the

  348. Lord your God, and do what is right in his sight, and give ear

  349. to His commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put

  350. none of the diseases on you which I put on the Egyptians.

  351. For I, the Lord and your healer, Yavay Rafa, I am your healer.

  352. The Lord who forms us is the Lord who fights for us.

  353. The Lord who fights for us is the Lord who feeds us.

  354. The Lord who feeds us is the Lord who foresees all that will

  355. happen to us, and the Lord who foresees all that will happen to

  356. us is the Lord who will fulfill us as only He can.

  357. I am your healer. When we read that, we, we

  358. naturally go to physical healing as if God is going to heal me

  359. physically. But it's so much deeper than

  360. that. It's so much more important than

  361. understanding that which is in the temporal to that which is

  362. eternal, that which is physical as to that which is spiritual.

  363. Because sin has ravaged our souls, it's destroyed our souls

  364. and we are in need of a physician who heals the

  365. condition of our souls. Notice that it was a tree that

  366. was thrown into the waters because it would be the great I

  367. am who hung on a tree who would bring the ultimate healing to

  368. people's lives. Listen to what the Bible says in

  369. Isaiah chapter 1. Isaiah chapter 1 is as as God

Isaiah 1 chapter mention Isaiah 1 chapter mention

  370. describes Israel verse 2. Listen O heavens and hero earth,

  371. for the Lord speaks. God is speaking.

  372. Sons I have reared and brought up, but they have revolted

  373. against me. Israel has revolted against me.

  374. And Ox knows its owner and a donkey its masters manager.

  375. But Israel does not know. My people do not understand.

  376. My people do not understand my identity.

  377. They don't know who I am. That's why the question, who do

  378. men say that I am? Who do you say that I am is so

  379. important. You got to get it right.

  380. It's not about accumulation of all kinds of knowledge about who

  381. God is. It's about knowing him in a

  382. personal sense, knowing him for who he really is.

  383. Because if Jesus is truly the Messiah, the Christ, the Son of

  384. the living God, He is all He claims to be, then He is yave

  385. Rafa in my life and yave Yire in my life, and yave Hassinu in my

  386. life, and yave Sabayov in my life and yave Rafi in my life.

  387. That's who he is, and I live in accordance to that.

  388. But Israel haven't experienced all that God did.

  389. Through all the wilderness wanderings and all the

  390. supernatural dealings that God did with Israel, they still did

  391. not know Him. That's why Christ asked the

  392. question who the men say that I am?

  393. Because you see, when Christ came, what did He do?

  394. He healed everybody. He practically banished all

  395. disease from the land of Israel. Every person blind, healed,

  396. paralyzed, healed, can't walk, healed.

  397. You got an issue, you're dead. Raise them up.

  398. God did everything, and yet they still did not know Him well.

  399. Some say you're Jeremiah, some say you're Elijah, John the

  400. Baptist, one of the prophets. Everybody's saying you're great,

  401. but nobody's saying you're God. In spite of all the miracles, in

  402. spite of all the supernatural acts that he performed.

  403. Feeding the 5000, feeding the 4000, walking on water.

  404. They still did not know the identity of the Christ child.

  405. How sad is that? But that was always Israel's

  406. problem. They did not understand their

  407. God. And yet he revealed himself over

  408. and over and over again. And so he says, alas, verse 4A,

  409. sinful nation, people weighed down with iniquity, offspring of

  410. evildoers, sons who act corruptly.

  411. They have abandoned the Lord, they have despised the Holy One

  412. of Israel, they have turned away from Him.

  413. This is why they were going into bondage, yet it would be 100

  414. years away. And so the Lord God would say to

  415. Israel those very familiar words in verse 18, Come now and let us

  416. reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins are a scarlet,

  417. they will be as white as snow. Though they be red like Crimson,

  418. they will be like wool. If you could send and obey, you

  419. will eat the best of the land. But if you refuse and rebel, you

  420. will be devoured by the sword. Truly, the mouth of the Lord has

  421. spoken. God says, I want to heal you.

  422. Listen to what He says in Jeremiah 30 verse #17 for I will

  423. restore you to health, and I will heal you of your wounds.

  424. Those are not physical wounds. Those are spiritual wounds.

  425. Jeremiah 3 verse #22 return you backsliding children and I will

  426. heal you're backsliding. Isaiah 30 verse #26 I will heal

  427. the stroke of your wounds. Why?

  428. Because he's Jaffe Rafa the Lord, your healer.

  429. Remember on that day in Nazareth in Luke chapter 4 when Christ

    Luke 4 chapter mention

  430. would read from Isaiah chapter 61, because that was the reading

    Isaiah 61 chapter mention

  431. of the day, and every prophet or every rabbi who came would say

  432. one day this will be fulfilled. But on this day Jesus says this

  433. has been fulfilled in your hearing.

  434. He says the Spirit of the Lord is upon me.

  435. So He's saying that He is the Messiah.

  436. Isaiah 11 verse #2 Isaiah chapter 42 verse #1 Isaiah 61

    Isaiah 42 chapter mention

  437. verse #1 It's all about the Spirit of the Lord being upon

  438. the Messiah. So he says the Spirit of the

  439. Lord is upon me because He anointed me to preach the gospel

  440. to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim

  441. release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind,

  442. to set free those who are oppressed, to proclaim the

  443. favorable year of the Lord. And they closed the book, gave

  444. it to the attendant, sat down, and the eyes of all in the

  445. synagogue were fixed on him. And he began to say to them,

  446. Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.

  447. I am the one who has come to preach the gospel to the poor.

  448. I am the one who has come to proclaim release to the

  449. captives. I am the one who has come to

  450. provide sight for the blind. I am the one who has come to

  451. produce freedom to those who are oppressed.

  452. I am your healer. I am here.

  453. And when Christ came, remember everything that the Lord does in

  454. the physical realm is symbolic of what He does in the spiritual

  455. realm. Christ came to heal people that

  456. were that. That's what His credentials were

  457. all throughout the Old Testament.

  458. The Lord would come and do supernatural acts and He would

  459. heal those who were physically infirmed.

  460. Why? Because they would prove His

  461. messianic credentials, but He didn't come to heal them

  462. physically. He came to heal them

  463. spiritually, but they didn't want that.

  464. Remember in Matthew chapter 4, and we'll talk about this in the

    Matthew 4 chapter mention

  465. new year when we go to through Matthews 5-6 and seven, he, he

  466. heals everybody. All who are paralyzed, all who

  467. are diseased. He heals everybody.

  468. Throngs of people would follow him.

  469. Why? Because he's healing everybody.

  470. And so he sets him down on this mount called this sensational

  471. sermon by our Savior on the mount there on the northern

  472. slopes of the Sea of Galilee. He says, I want to give you true

  473. blessing. I know you think you're blessed

  474. because you're blind, but now you see.

  475. I know you think you're blessed because you were paralyzed, but

  476. now you're not. I know you think you're blessed

  477. because you were sick, but now you're well.

  478. But that's not true blessing, and it gives those great

  479. beatitudes. Blessed are the poor in spirit,

  480. for there's the Kingdom of heaven.

  481. Blessed are those who who mourn over their sins, for they and

  482. they only, they'll be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they

  483. will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and

  484. thirst for righteousness, for they will truly be satisfied.

  485. You see, you think you're satisfied because yesterday you

  486. were sick, but today you're better.

  487. Yesterday you were in bed, but now you're up.

  488. But I got news for you. You're still going to die.

  489. You might feel better today, but you're going to die tomorrow.

  490. Everybody's going to die. So you got to be spiritually

  491. made. Well, you have to be spiritually

  492. healed. And if not?

  493. Then you will die and live a Christ less eternity.

  494. How sad is that? And that's why in Luke's gospel,

  495. when John the Baptist said are you the expected 1, he said his

  496. disciples to ask him what did Christ do?

  497. He immediately healed everybody in the crowd.

  498. One fell swoop, boom, they're all healed.

  499. Now you go tell John what you just saw, because nobody but the

  500. Messiah can do that. You see Christ is Yahweh, Rafa

  501. the Lord your healer. So many times we we

  502. misunderstand the soul healing nature of our King.

  503. He's the only one who can free the captives.

  504. Every person born is born enslaved to Satan.

  505. Everybody. You're dead in your trespasses

  506. and sin. And so God grants man repentance

  507. that he might be freed from the the captivity of Satan sets the

  508. prisoner free, doesn't mean he goes to the jails and locks the

  509. doors. It means he goes and sets you

  510. free from Satan's oppression in your life and the captivity that

  511. Satan has on your soul. This tree, according to first

    1 Peter 2:24

  512. Peter chapter 2 verse 24, Peter says this, He himself bore our

  513. sins in his body on the cross, literally on the tree.

  514. So we might die to sin and live to righteousness.

  515. For by his wounds you were healed.

  516. You healed spiritually. Yes, there will come a day where

  517. we are physically healed, we have glorified bodies, and we

  518. are perfectly healthy in eternity.

  519. That one day is going to come. That's the result of ultimate

  520. salvation. But in the meantime, we have

  521. been set free and healed in our souls so that we experience a

  522. true blessing of Yahweh Rafa, the God who heals.

  523. He gives us living water, waters that are fresh and clean and

  524. pure. In fact, listen to this the Book

  525. of Revelation chapter 22 verse #1 John says.

    Revelation 22 chapter mention

  526. Then he showed me a river of the water of life.

  527. Now my friends, you need to know there is no water in heaven.

  528. There is no more sea, there's no hydrological cycle, there's no

  529. rain. So what is the water of life?

  530. He says that he showed me a river of the water of life.

  531. What is that if there's no sea, if there's no rain, if there's

  532. no water in heaven, because there's no need to drink

  533. anything in a glorified state, what is the water of life?

  534. Chapter 22 verse #17 At the last invitation of our Lord, he says,

  535. the Spirit and the Bride say, Come, and let the one who hears

  536. come, and let the one who was thirsty come.

  537. Let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.

  538. The water of life is the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  539. Look at this, he says. They showed me a river of the

  540. water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God

  541. and of the Lamb. So whatever the water of life

  542. is, it's not the H2O like we know it.

  543. It's this salvation experience that comes and flows from the

  544. throne. It flows from God and the Lamb.

  545. And that's where salvation originates from.

  546. The God who is a God who delivers and rescues and saves.

  547. And it says in the middle of a street on either side of the

  548. river was the tree of life, the tree of life bearing twelve

  549. kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month.

  550. And the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

  551. What is that? There's no injury in heaven.

  552. There's no illness in heaven. There's no sickness in heaven.

  553. Why do the nation's need to be healed?

  554. Think about it, The tree of life, there's all kinds of fruit

  555. every month. There is no time in heaven.

  556. There's no clock in heaven. There's no calendar in heaven.

  557. What do you mean it bears fruit every month?

  558. It talks about the unending succession of the variety of

  559. enrichment that God gives to His people who have drank from the

  560. water of life because it provides healing therapia.

  561. Get our English word therapeutic.

  562. It's like taking vitamins. Vitamins don't heal you, but

  563. they keep you fresh and lively. You don't eat because you need

  564. to eat. You eat because of the enjoyment

  565. of the enrichment that God gives.

  566. It provides healing nourishment, life giving tree that provides

  567. health giving life forever. So the psalmist says these

  568. words, Psalm 124, verse #8 Our help is in the name of the Lord

  569. who made heaven and earth. Where does my help come from?

  570. From the name, the character, the attribute of the Lord.

  571. So the psalmist says in Psalm 147 verse #3 he heals the broken

  572. hearted and binds all their wounds.

  573. That's Yahweh. Rafa, listen to this Isaiah 12.

  574. God says, you will say on that day I will give thanks to you, O

  575. Lord, for all. Though you were angry with me,

  576. your anger is turned away and you comfort me.

  577. Build. God is my salvation.

  578. I will trust and not be afraid for the Lord.

  579. God is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation.

  580. Therefore you will joylessly draw water from the springs of

  581. salvation, and in that day you will say, give thanks to the

  582. Lord and call on His name. Make known as deeds among the

  583. peoples. Make them remember that His name

  584. is exalted. What name?

  585. Yave Rafa. Yave Rohi, Yave Sabayath, Yave

  586. Yuray, all those titles, all those descriptions make the name

  587. of the Lord. We haven't even covered Yave

  588. Mekadiskam, which is the Lord your sanctifier, or Yave

  589. Sidkanu, which is the Lord your righteousness, or Yahweh Shema,

  590. which speaks of the Lord who is there because he never leaves.

  591. The unending study of the person of praise goes on and on and on.

  592. We can never exhaust it. And my prayer for you is that

  593. you will be able to journey with joy the pathway of praise

  594. because you understand the person of praise.

  595. Let's pray. Father, we thank you for today

  596. and the opportunity you give us to spend time in Your Word.

  597. So much to cover and so little time to do it, yet we are

  598. blessed because of who You are. I pray that everyone in the room

  599. would know Christ as Lord and Savior.

  600. They would know you as their Deliverer.

  601. They would be able to answer effectively.

  602. Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God, and live

  603. accordingly. So Lord, as we depart this day,

  604. go before us and may we journey with joy the pathway you've

  605. called us to live, the pathway of praise in Jesus name, Amen.
