  1. City Post. What up with it?

  2. We're back, yes. Yeah, man.

  3. So we're finally back at City Post Church here in Haltom City,

  4. TX and I'm here with. Pastor Ricky, what's up,

  5. everybody? Man, let's.

  6. Hear from y'all. Yeah, this is a returning

  7. episode of Build Equips and it's the title of the podcast.

  8. But most importantly is the mission of the church.

  9. So we'll go back to. Let's go back to Miseron, bro.

  10. Let's leave tomorrow. Let's just jump on that plane

  11. and let's get out of here, man. Lord, I'm down.

  12. Prepare me for it, please. Yeah, that that protection

  13. travelling Grace. Yeah, like, yeah man, it was

  14. very evident his his hand on us in that trip, bro.

  15. You know, definitely. And man, what was cool was being

  16. able to share with our church, like, man, Testimony Sunday,

  17. man, I was so excited about it. You know, I thought about it.

  18. I prayed over it. Like, Lord, what's this going to

  19. look like? How do we bring our church to

  20. Mizzo, You know, so that way they could experience it.

  21. And then, of course, how do we talk about the kids?

  22. That was the, I was like, I promised a lot of these kids

  23. we're going to talk about them. So I wanted to honor that.

  24. So. But yeah.

  25. So what do you think about Testimony Sunday?

  26. To quote Michael bro, I wasn't ready for that video.

  27. Yeah. Like it was an emotional roller

  28. coaster going and coming and like spending the time and

  29. pouring out with these kids and then coming back home and faces

  30. some stuff I was facing on my own and then come in and seeing

  31. that, it was like a punch in the chest, you know what I mean?

  32. Like straight in the fields. Yeah.

  33. But it was awesome. It was awesome to to see how

  34. much joy of the Lord that was shared, you know?

  35. So yeah, that was awesome. And then hearing everyone's

  36. perspective. I loved your mom's.

  37. Oh man, that killed. I almost broke down when she

  38. did. I broke down.

  39. I was like, why did? That was one of the coolest

  40. renditions of that verse that I've heard.

  41. So yeah, that was pretty awesome, man.

  42. And your dad too, like how he, he let his emotional guard down

  43. a little bit with being transparent with, you know,

  44. things that the, the Holy Spirit stirred up in him there, bro.

  45. And it's just, it was awesome, bro.

  46. No, man, it, it was a great trip and for me, so I cheated a

  47. little bit because I had to watch that video about 17 times.

  48. So that way I I was able to talk afterward.

  49. And but also for me, like what I I got emotional put it together

  50. was the the battle belongs like as we were worshipping, like I

  51. wanted to do something where we felt like the kids were

  52. worshipping with us, you know, So when the girls were doing all

  53. the emotions, I was like, oh, that'd be cool to do that

  54. together, you know. So man, I don't know, that was

  55. just special for me. Like I just kept watching it

  56. over and over again. Had had to cut it up.

  57. It took a while, but it was worth it.

  58. Yeah, for sure. It's always worth it, yeah.

  59. The awesome video like and I think it gave a recap for the

  60. people that didn't get the opportunity to go this time,

  61. right? You know, it really gave them a

  62. bird's eye view of what God is doing over there with the

  63. Gonzabra home. No 100 for sure, bro.

  64. So yeah. But it was great.

  65. But yeah, now we're back and back in the mix.

  66. Yes, Sir. But as as far as that trip bro,

  67. you kind of want to get, do you? Would you like to give a little

  68. bit of a recap of maybe something you learned or

  69. something that stood out to you? No, like, you know, we talked

  70. about going to Mizzo. You know, this is about my

  71. third, this is our third year going as a church, My, my fifth

  72. year time going to Mizzaram. And I can't, I can't stop

  73. talking about our team. Like I've LED groups where we've

  74. had people like fight, complain, get sick, homesick, or we've had

  75. people with alternative motives that have come on the trip.

  76. Like I just want to travel, just want to see the world.

  77. But man, like our group, like everybody was in for the kids.

  78. Like everybody wanted to smoke. Everybody was ready to work,

  79. everybody was ready to play. Even when we didn't feel good,

  80. we all came together and just like rocked it, you know, and

  81. for me, that was it was refreshing to my soul and I was

  82. just proud. You know, I don't know how I

  83. explained it. It was just so much fun.

  84. I just had AI just had fun. Like it didn't seem like all

  85. right. We got to make sure everything

  86. runs like it just felt right, like we just had a great time.

  87. Oh. Yeah, man.

  88. So that's kind of what I took from it.

  89. That's awesome, yeah. And hearing back and kind of

  90. just reflecting, thinking back on the video, thinking back of

  91. like flashbacks of times there, bro, it just felt so effortless,

  92. that's what. I'm like, yeah, man, it was like

  93. we belonged. Like we've done this 100 times,

  94. right? Yeah, it was structured so well

  95. with like the lessons with the kids to the activities and the

  96. games driving them home. Yeah.

  97. And something that I, I, it took a little while to get used to,

  98. but every time we would come back for lunch or dinner, all

  99. the kids asked, how was your lunch?

  100. Oh yeah, yeah. Enjoy your lunch, Yeah?

  101. Enjoy. Like man, it's like they, they

  102. had so much joy seeing us every time, whether it was like coming

  103. back and forth. So man, it was just, it was just

  104. really fun. Like you're saying, it was

  105. great. Yeah, and, and one of my

  106. favorite moments, I would say one of my favorite memories was

  107. as we're about to leave and they want to do a final dance.

  108. Yeah. And they looked at us like, we

  109. gotta dance. We gotta dance.

  110. I was like, yeah, we do. And, you know, like, it was like

  111. a final dance party, you know? And, man, I don't know why.

  112. It just felt great. Like it was so much fun.

  113. And I was like, we got to just implement this every year,

  114. right? We need to do a final dance

  115. party. Yeah.

  116. Shut up, B boy Ricky. Yeah, hey, don't get it twisted.

  117. I'm not going to lie. When I hit the spins, I, I

  118. surprised myself. I think that was the Lord saying

  119. I got you. I'm not going to let you

  120. embarrass yourself in front of all these kids.

  121. Man, but that was a moment to to observe is I was going to drive

  122. me crazy. Remind me his name.

  123. The dude that's leaving? Sam Samuel.

  124. Yeah, Samuel. How he jumped in and like kind.

  125. Of you know. And then you followed in and

  126. what's the new guys name that's going to be taking Samuel place?

  127. No, I, I forgot. Yeah, I don't.

  128. It's a hard yeah. It's a hard name, but like the

  129. the three men that were leading like to set that off.

  130. I think that was such a beautiful experience for myself

  131. to observe. But I can't imagine for these

  132. kids, you know, it's like just to share that moment of joy and

  133. just playing and you know, just like like they said, having a

  134. dance party before we left, before all the waterworks came

  135. in and kind. Of like it kills you bro.

  136. Every year it kills me. No, I get it.

  137. Awesome. And I think that sets the stage

  138. for the topic today. And that's a mission trip

  139. hangover. Mission trip hangover, man.

  140. It was coming, Yeah. You warned us.

  141. And even with that warning, I personally, I wasn't ready.

  142. I wasn't ready for what that entailed for my personal walk

  143. and just kind of things I was struggling with personally on

  144. top of just the spiritual attacks that comes with it.

  145. You know, and you know, to, to quote one of my, one of my

  146. closest friends man's like we spent a week pissing the devil

  147. off. Like, like we were literally

  148. like just just doing the work in the Kingdom, bro.

  149. And so just there's a, there's a little bit of a bounce back that

  150. that came with that that I just wasn't ready for.

  151. Yeah, and that's something I, I always talk to the groups about

  152. it. It's always the coming home,

  153. man. Like people decide not to come

  154. back next year based on traveling back home because

  155. there's always something that, and I think it's like, you know,

  156. when we talk about spiritual attacks, spiritual attacks

  157. happen to pull you away from the calling that God put on our

  158. lives. So if, if the enemy could get

  159. you to talk bad, think bad, act outwardly toward the will and

  160. call and the work of God, then he wins.

  161. Because I was even thinking like, OK, so we spent a whole

  162. week worshipping, talking about Peter, talking about the Holy

  163. Spirit, right. And then these attacks, kid.

  164. And it's like, I feel terrible. Well, hold on a second.

  165. You were just talking about the Holy Spirit a few days ago.

  166. How do you let that steal your joy if the fruit of the Spirit

  167. is joy? You know, so it's but that

  168. that's what the enemy does, you know, like he comes at us and he

  169. tries to to kind of like knock you off of that sentiment.

  170. Yeah. They hearing that just kind of

  171. trigger the thought, bro, it's like we're, we're spending this

  172. week and the only Christian state in the country, right?

  173. You know, spreading the gospel, spreading this joy and that trip

  174. back that usually trips people up.

  175. We're going through a lot of enemy territory as far as like

  176. beliefs of other religions and things like that.

  177. So it was like, I don't know, that just kind of hit me right

  178. now. Yeah, it it's, it's not just

  179. the, the going back. So I truly believe even if we

  180. were going back through like America or I think that the

  181. enemy will still find a way. He will still find a way, you

  182. know, because you have now fulfilled the will.

  183. Like like you, you talk about like I'm being obedient.

  184. Like for you to say that I'm being obedient, what else is he

  185. going to call me to be obedient to?

  186. He took this massive step, you know, like So what else?

  187. And what the Bible says is when you're faithful with the small,

  188. God gives you the big. So it's like, what else is

  189. coming? So I better get I better stop

  190. this now before it it gets crazier.

  191. You know, you know, gospel wise, right?

  192. Yeah. It's.

  193. Like the enemy trying to attack the seed before it grows.

  194. Right, Right. Yeah.

  195. Oh yeah. Man.

  196. You know, that's why you see a lot of these, like, you know, we

  197. talk about spiritual warfare, like people leaving ministry,

  198. giving up on ministry, pastors morally failing, treating on

  199. their wives, stealing money. All of these things don't happen

  200. overnight, right? Like they it accumulates until

  201. something big hits. So it's like if the enemy could,

  202. if the enemy could like just start, you know, just digging a

  203. little bit, little bit, little bit and then boom, something big

  204. is going to hit. You know, so little seeds of

  205. doubt. So we have to fight that.

  206. We got to fight that man. Man, so on that topic of where

  207. there's planting seeds of doubt, spiritual battles, did you

  208. experience anything personally like preparing, going?

  209. Oh, yeah, bro, I'm not gonna lie, man, I I've never

  210. experienced the spiritual warfare on a mission trip that I

  211. then this year. Really.

  212. Yeah. Like leaving was so difficult,

  213. but it was so blatant. You know, before he's like, was

  214. it really? Or was it my, no, this, this

  215. one, It was so blatant, like my calf muscle pull the day before

  216. flat tire for Ray. Like, Oh yeah, it was, it was

  217. the, the week, the AC busting at the church, the flood before

  218. Father's Day. Like there's things that people

  219. don't see our system going out, the wires getting fried, bro,

  220. depleting our savings. Like, like there's all these

  221. things that people did and we're just trusting the Lord.

  222. We're just saying, Lord, I trust you, Lord.

  223. You got this, Lord, we're going to fight through this right now.

  224. So and this is like all before a mission trip, right?

  225. And super summer, right? You know, it's like, man, this

  226. is tough. Dang, man, like I remember

  227. having conversations leading up to it, but now as you're listing

  228. everything, like what I forgot, like it's been a yeah, yeah, you

  229. know, since we've had those conversations, since these

  230. things have happened. But bro, like, that's so much

  231. coming at you as you're preparing for to lead this

  232. mighty group of 6, toss the planet.

  233. Yeah. Then also preparing, you know,

  234. the group that went to Super Summer.

  235. Like yes, that's a lot bro. Getting them going.

  236. And yeah, so it, it was just it was so blatant this year.

  237. Like I could see it. And even to the point where I

  238. would pray when I prayed in the mornings.

  239. I'm like, Lord, I see it, I say, but just protect us from the

  240. evil one. Keep me faithful, keep me

  241. strong. Don't let anything get in the

  242. way. Don't let anything I do get in

  243. the way of my team. Like, yeah, man.

  244. But you know, like the crazy thing was like, it was probably

  245. one of the best trips I've ever been on.

  246. It was so fruitful. It was one of the most fruitful

  247. spirit rejuvenating trips that I've ever gone on.

  248. So that's just me though. That's what I'm saying, bro.

  249. Yeah. So, you know, posing that that

  250. question with that information, did you experience any kind of

  251. battle spiritually on the mission trip this year?

  252. You know, like, while we were there, No, I could honestly say

  253. that I felt like God's grace was covering us the whole entire

  254. time. That's awesome, bro.

  255. Yeah, I mean, of course you have like your yourself, like my

  256. comforts. And I want more room and I want

  257. this. I want that.

  258. And it's like, man, dude, it's just some hours.

  259. You'll be alright. But it was really just the

  260. battle against self. But man, I just felt like God's

  261. grace carried us all the way through.

  262. Like it was, it was awesome, Yeah.

  263. That's awesome bro. What about coming home?

  264. Yeah, coming home. I mean, I know we all have like

  265. those same concerns. Like I got to get back to work.

  266. And then you, of course, like I had a lot of stuff going on and

  267. then I knew that jet lag, like I might have to fight these sleeps

  268. by going back to the, you know, I got things got to get done and

  269. my eyes are closing at 3:00 in the afternoon.

  270. So. So fighting that.

  271. Yeah, man. But I knew I was coming home to

  272. a lot of stuff at work and I just kept praying.

  273. Like, Lord, it's OK. It's.

  274. And what's funny is that it's we, we make it worse than it is.

  275. Cuz when you talk to somebody, it's like, it's not that

  276. serious. It's not that bad.

  277. Yeah. It's, it's in your head.

  278. No, man, yeah. That's that's real though bro.

  279. Yeah, man, man. So, you know, like you've had a

  280. little bit of a mission trip hangover, bro.

  281. Yeah. And I think on that topic of,

  282. you know, battles, I'll just come out and say it, bro.

  283. I got fired a week to the day before we left, before we got on

  284. a plane. Like I lost my job a week before

  285. going on this mission trip. Yeah.

  286. Like that week was rough, bro. Like had went through all the

  287. emotions. First I was shocked, then I was

  288. upset, then I was like sad, then I was depressed, then it's like

  289. self pity and all that, like all that.

  290. And on bro, literally. And I remember telling Ernie

  291. about this and you know, to quote him is like, man, the

  292. devil think he got jokes like like it's one of those things.

  293. This is like. So that was a that was a hurdle

  294. to to navigate even going. And then, bro, we, we got, like

  295. I said, we got a lot of travelling grace, bro, I don't

  296. think I've ever gone through TSA once as fast as we did through

  297. three countries, bro. Like, let that say it for a

  298. second, yes. Like, like the way God was just

  299. just had his hand on us through that.

  300. Yeah. And then the time with the kids

  301. and, you know, seeing, really seeing the reach Gonzabra has

  302. with us going and visiting the homes, the home visits of the

  303. people in the community. And honestly, probably one of my

  304. favorite parts is I'm reflecting back on it, bro, was our morning

  305. devotional times together. Like that was so spirit filled

  306. and like, like we just, I think we grew closer as a group, like

  307. we're just some transparency there and, you know, really

  308. sharing our hearts with each other.

  309. And then that set the stage for the Holy Spirit to move

  310. throughout all of us with these kids all day.

  311. And I think that, you know, I want to commend you and your mom

  312. and the leadership of just how intentionally y'all prepared us

  313. for the day, every day. Oh yeah, it's, it's important

  314. because also, like, you know, you, we, we do all this, we

  315. raise all this money. You want to go and you want to

  316. make sure you utilize every minute of that day.

  317. And mission trips are not just for the people we're going to go

  318. serve, but God uses the people we serve to minister to us.

  319. So we have to be open, we have to be ready to receive and, and

  320. that's why you prep spiritually. It's it's important, man, it

  321. really is. So being intentional with the

  322. time is very important, but also the lessons, you know, like if

  323. you notice, we, we talk about Jesus a lot and, and thing is

  324. like Jesus is the only way. He's the only one that's going

  325. to forgive our sins. Jesus is who drives us, sustains

  326. us. He's the one that holds it all

  327. together. If we had a trip and didn't talk

  328. about Jesus, we're wasting time. It's true.

  329. It's like, I always like to say, it's like having a generator

  330. with no gas. You know, it's, it's there, but

  331. there's no power. So making sure that Christ is at

  332. the focus of all of our conversations and our teachings.

  333. Like there isn't a yes, it's about Peter, but it's about

  334. Peter meeting Christ. You know, it's about introducing

  335. Christ as friends. Like everything has to be about

  336. Christ. Yeah.

  337. So that's also very intentional. Yeah, man.

  338. Yeah. It was a, it was a master class

  339. in in how to teach kids for me. Yeah.

  340. Hey I learned something every time bro.

  341. Yeah, yeah, man, just the the teachers we had, like yourself,

  342. your mom, Estevan, your dad, like even Michael, you know,

  343. with him and he was kind of nervous and, you know, but he

  344. took it so serious. And it's something that that

  345. that meant a lot to him. And that's something that even

  346. with the language barrier, I think translates, you know, it's

  347. communicated now you don't worry to to everyone in that room,

  348. bro. So.

  349. So that was an awesome experience.

  350. But, you know, circling back to the hangover aspect coming back

  351. specifically. Oh yeah, yeah.

  352. Man. Like something that really hit

  353. me traveling home other than like the travel itself.

  354. Like them 23 hours they meant to play.

  355. With, that's right, like physically.

  356. That that that's, that's something.

  357. That be mentally prepared, right, man, That's right.

  358. Right. But that that's so, so key.

  359. Be mentally prepared for it, right?

  360. And me mentally, I was like, bro, I'm going back home, wrench

  361. do I'm broke. I got a job like that was tough

  362. navigating coming home and then finally getting home after, you

  363. know, my bubble being the little little violated on the flight

  364. back. I just needed some rest in that

  365. too because after I got a nap we was.

  366. Cool. Yeah, that's right.

  367. Yeah, but. And by now, 7 hours later bro

  368. like good bro. I took a lot of melatonin, some

  369. allergy medicine, bro. I knocked myself out for that

  370. flight because 16 hours, bro, that wouldn't have to play with

  371. it. So I was intentional and that

  372. that had that made probably the trip back a little harder than

  373. it needed to be because I didn't sleep at all on any of the

  374. travels because LeBron, I'm just going to try to knock out on

  375. this long flight home. Yeah, but yeah, man, then like

  376. physically coming home and first and foremost feeling like my

  377. social battery was like depleted.

  378. Yes, Sir. LeBron wouldn't be around nobody

  379. right now. I.

  380. Don't want to talk to nobody like.

  381. You might as well get some water burger and go home.

  382. Like he gonna just chill. But to be real, that kind of

  383. snowballing into a little bit of depression, you know, with the

  384. reality of my situation coming back home and fear and doubt

  385. starting to creep in. It's like, bro, what am I going

  386. to do? And that isolation piece where

  387. that first Sunday I didn't come to church, this is all like,

  388. bro, like I just can't. And then even more honest and

  389. transparent is like. To be real, if I didn't have the

  390. obligation of sharing my testimony that Sunday, test that

  391. testimony Sunday, I probably wouldn't have come because to be

  392. real, I was struggling to come even with that.

  393. Yeah, you know, so it's just like that struggle was tough,

  394. bro was so tough, man. But even went through that the

  395. Lord was revealing to me is like and now you see why you need

  396. community because you can't do this by yourself.

  397. Like when I'm by myself. That's that's a recipe for

  398. disaster. For me, and I think I think God

  399. uses these situations to build us and stretch us them because

  400. if, if your home mentality is like these are my limits and I'm

  401. only going to operate within my limits, you're never going to

  402. grow and you're never going to stretch.

  403. Then also and, and, and this is just just thinking out loud.

  404. If I talk a lot about Christ, if I talk a lot about like the Holy

  405. Spirit, if I talk, but yet I'm all like depressed.

  406. There's two things. It's like one thing is not like

  407. the other, you know, So I think it's also a way for like the

  408. Lord to say, you need to rely on me.

  409. That part you need to rely on me, like rely on me, you know,

  410. like I'm showing you because you're right.

  411. Like, and I said it, it's like you are empty.

  412. You, you spend a whole week pouring yourself out to these

  413. kids to each other. So if you don't fill your cup in

  414. a specific way, you can't, you can't pour out of an empty cup,

  415. man. And, and dude, I mean, you're

  416. exhausted. You're emotional at the end of

  417. these trips. I mean, we all are.

  418. You're thinking about just going home.

  419. You're like it. It's you're just in a place

  420. where it all ended and and yeah, man, it's, it's part of the it's

  421. part of it. Yeah.

  422. And that's why I keep saying it's like all the way to the

  423. end. The trip don't end till we walk

  424. out of customs together and we're on.

  425. We see our loved ones, you know, but I just truly believe that

  426. God uses all these situations to build.

  427. Us. Absolutely.

  428. Because I remember when I went in November and I had that

  429. stomach bug on a 14.5 hour flight, I was getting up every

  430. two hours, you know, like, and, and in my mind, I'm just like,

  431. Lord, this is going to be hard. Like even before I got on the

  432. flight, I was like, God, this is going to be hard.

  433. And I sat next to the biggest dude with the broadest

  434. shoulders. Big old dude, man.

  435. I was sitting behind and in front like like his shoulder in

  436. his lat. Like that was my cave.

  437. And I tried to tell him I was like, dude, I got to get up man.

  438. And he was getting annoyed, but I was like, unless you want to

  439. switch seats with me and he wouldn't do it.

  440. But but after that trip, I was like, I can't believe I pulled

  441. it off. And the only way I really got

  442. through that was just man prayer.

  443. Just say, Lord, just help me, you know, get me through and and

  444. he did so this flight piece of cake.

  445. Right, yeah, man. And and no one hit on something

  446. you mentioned is like to to go and be talking about the Holy

  447. Spirit for a week and then to come home and be depressed and

  448. all that when I'm struggling with right.

  449. And it's like something is not the same.

  450. And specifically, like the Lord uses these situations to to

  451. stretch us, to expand us, to just make us to refine us, you

  452. know, and that was something like was a like light bulb

  453. moment and the time coming back. And more specifically, like last

  454. week, you know, just come in on the other side of like what I

  455. was going through. And it is like Holy Spirit tell

  456. me it's like and you tripping about rent.

  457. You saw what I just did for these kids on the other side of

  458. the planet. You saw what I did to provide

  459. for you to even go on this trip because by your means, no way

  460. where you going? And look how I've even been so

  461. intentional in that preparation and looking out for you now

  462. because I'm still surviving off of means I had from before I

  463. went, you know. So this is like that, right?

  464. That like kick in the butt moment for me.

  465. Like smack upside the head, Dolores.

  466. Like, boy, yeah. Like when you go get it, like,

  467. you know, So yeah. Yeah.

  468. And then also like, I think this is good to talk about too,

  469. because it's like, what if there's people that want to come

  470. on the trip and then like they're excited to hear and

  471. they're like, hey, what happened, right.

  472. You know, and it's just, it's not a good look, you know?

  473. So all of these things have to be taken into consideration.

  474. But honestly, I remember like the first year I went, when I

  475. went to India in 20/12/2013, I came back and I, I don't know, I

  476. felt like angry at the world because of the things I saw and

  477. experienced, like ministering in a slum, seeing leprosy, you

  478. know, like it was such a strong experience that I just felt like

  479. yelling at everybody, you know, like I was, I was acting out of

  480. like just my, my experiences, my emotions and people are looking

  481. at me like, are you OK? You know, but I think all of us

  482. experienced that on our first trips, you know, I think that's

  483. a normal thing, you know, and then it's like you learn from it

  484. and the Lord used it and now you can tell others like when it's

  485. going to be their first time, right?

  486. Heads up. Right.

  487. I mean, and that that's something I was trying to be

  488. cognizant of that that's why I isolate because I know I

  489. couldn't have done it without the people of this church and

  490. then pouring into me to go. And I don't want this emotion in

  491. this negative space I'm in, in that moment because it's

  492. temporary, because it's rooted in those emotions.

  493. I don't want that to negatively affect someone's perspective on

  494. if the Lord is calling them to go.

  495. Right. Yeah, man.

  496. So for real like all that and the enemy uses all that, bro,

  497. you know, So you have to be very, you have to be aware.

  498. I guess that's the best way to say it.

  499. You know, I love, you know, talking about this Ephesians 6,

  500. you know, we talked about spiritual warfare.

  501. I like what Paul says in verse 18 because it's true.

  502. After he gives like here's the armor of God, you know, get

  503. ready for it. You know, then verse 18 is like

  504. and pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of

  505. prayers and requests. And it says, with this in mind,

  506. be alert and always keep on praying for all of the Lord's

  507. people. And then Paul, like he switches.

  508. He's like. And then but also pray for me

  509. that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will

  510. fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel for which

  511. I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I made it clear

  512. fearlessly, as I should. Yeah, man.

  513. So he gets it right. He's like, we got to keep

  514. praying for each other, right? You know?

  515. And yeah, but I like how he turns it on himself.

  516. He's like, but man, pray for me. Took some of the ambassador in

  517. chains. Like literally.

  518. In prison for the. He's in prison writing the book

  519. of Ephesians. Encouraging this church, bro,

  520. that's still something that's so, yeah, mind boggling to me.

  521. Yeah, you know, but that's the power of the Holy Spirit.

  522. That's the power of Jesus. Yeah, man, when you see it, when

  523. you've experienced it, when you're in it, it becomes more

  524. than talk, right? And it becomes, it becomes hold

  525. on to. And I know for me as a when,

  526. when I go through hard times, everybody's going to go through

  527. difficult times, especially planning the church and, and,

  528. and church ministry stuff. I hold on to those truths.

  529. I've seen you do it before, you'll do it again.

  530. I've seen you work. I've seen you heal.

  531. I've seen you, you know, and you just got to keep telling

  532. yourself you know, and then the people that come at you, you're

  533. like hold on a second like y'all haven't seen it.

  534. I have. So why am I tripping?

  535. Right, that part. Yeah, that part bro.

  536. That's right. So all that being said, for the

  537. people that want to come, you know, and I've spoken to a few

  538. guys that the Lord is already, you know, tugging on their

  539. heartstrings and and pushing them for it.

  540. What what are some recommendations you think for

  541. for them to get ready physically and spiritually for?

  542. Bad mission. That's so good man.

  543. Cuz I think, I think physically you have to understand you're

  544. traveling to the other side of the world.

  545. There is not an OK. So even if let's say we all got

  546. business class seats, you're still going to have a hard time

  547. sitting down for 14 hours. You know, So physically having

  548. your body able to like move around, you know, you're sitting

  549. in a seat for a long time. And then when we're in India,

  550. it's very active, you know, like, so you're walking up

  551. hills, you're sitting, standing, sitting, standing.

  552. There's a lot of energy. But the hardest thing that I

  553. always see and even for myself, operating while you're

  554. exhausted. That part.

  555. You've got to be able, and I think this is more mentally than

  556. physically, you've got to be able to operate when you're

  557. tired and just pray and ask the Holy Spirit, give me strength

  558. that part instead of like, I'm tired, I want to sleep.

  559. Suck it up. We're here, you know, and so I

  560. think physically are those things, you're gonna be active,

  561. you're gonna move, you're gonna be sitting a long time on

  562. airplanes. So it's a little bit of a tight

  563. squeeze. Spiritually, I think going with

  564. the heart of Christ, going with the mentality that I'm gonna

  565. serve, I'm gonna pour myself out and I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be

  566. a, a vessel. Like I'm not going to go save

  567. the world. I'm going to go be used by God,

  568. you know, And I think spiritually you have to pray up,

  569. got to pray up, guard your heart from sin and, and get ready.

  570. Yeah. It's good bro.

  571. Yeah, how about you, like now that you've been on that trip,

  572. like let's do 2 takeaways from each.

  573. Like you personally, you're on the trip, what advice would you

  574. give? So let's start with the physical

  575. first from your experience. For me on the flights,

  576. specifically the long ones, go find some space to stretch bro.

  577. Yeah, it's like. Yeah, just like I think you, you

  578. broke it down pretty awesome on the the flight back of every

  579. like 3 hours getting up and moving around.

  580. So like on that physical part of the flight itself, like get

  581. somewhere where you can go move your legs around, stretch your

  582. legs, like find some space to literally do some stretches like

  583. I had to do. Secondly, bro, get some of these

  584. airborne gummies that Ricky was passing out.

  585. Like Andy, bro, like is that? And like I've been going through

  586. the footage and seeing the difference and hearing the

  587. difference from when I was in Delhi before I started taking

  588. them. So when we were in Mizoram.

  589. And like, I'll say, bro, that that that stuff's a game

  590. changer. It is.

  591. That's the net for real. So that that'd be two for the

  592. physical piece, for the spiritual piece, be very

  593. intentional in like that replenishing time in the

  594. evenings after, yes. You know, that's a great, great

  595. word cause. Like for me, my like normal

  596. routine is something in my bed playing on my phone, you know,

  597. watching a movie or something. That's how I recharge from a

  598. typical day here in Fort Worth, TX.

  599. But after pouring out so much with these kids of like really

  600. surrendering and submitting to the Lord and being his vessel,

  601. that's something reflecting back.

  602. I wish I would have been more intentional in replenishing that

  603. cup when that one-on-one time with the Lord in the evenings,

  604. Bro, this man like bro be tired, like tired, exhausted, yes, bro

  605. depleted. And I was going to sources that

  606. couldn't replenish me right, You know, so that's a good word.

  607. So that's a that that's the the first recommendation from the

  608. spiritual side. The second piece bro just be

  609. real in this devotion time in the morning with the team.

  610. Yeah, be honest. Yeah, bro, of the struggles of,

  611. you know what the Lord is revealing to you if you have

  612. questions, Yeah, if you have any fears, any doubts, like, because

  613. I think that's what made that time so impactful for me is how

  614. honest and transparent everyone was because it was a very, very

  615. safe space. And it was a very, very

  616. encouraging space too. I agree.

  617. That's mine. That's great, man.

  618. Those are great words. Like you're, you're like, you're

  619. like a veteran now, man. So, but, you know, just to, you

  620. know, we, we put the slideshow on YouTube.

  621. So anybody wants to watch that? If you want to rewatch the

  622. testimonies, it's up there too. I know I I watch the slideshow

  623. at least twice or three times a week, you know, like, yeah, it

  624. just, I don't know, man. It just brings back these great

  625. memories hearing the girls sing. Is it just rejuvenates my soul,

  626. man. It's it's awesome.

  627. So, but yeah, man, anything else you got?

  628. What's the mission look like here or no?

  629. We've talked about this mission going across to the world.

  630. Well, now that we're back in Fort Worth, TX, what does that

  631. mission look like for City Post? Man, that's, that's good.

  632. I think we need to be careful to think missions is just an India

  633. or you have to get on a plane to go to missions.

  634. In all reality, man, God is bringing the nations to us, like

  635. all our neighbors across the street that we talked to,

  636. Venezuela, Laotian, Burmi, Burma.

  637. It's like you have all these different countries in this

  638. neighborhood and all you got to do is you just got to build that

  639. trust, man, build that friendship, you know, and even

  640. like with our Laotian congregation upstairs, my dad

  641. has really made an effort to reach out to them because

  642. they're very closed in, you know, and it's a cultural thing.

  643. It's nothing to do with us. And they actually gave us money.

  644. Yeah. Like they wanted to.

  645. They collected a small amount of money amongst their church, Say,

  646. hey, we hear you going on a mission trip.

  647. We want to help you guys, Bro, That, that was humbling.

  648. Like they came downstairs on Father's Day and presented it to

  649. me. Yeah, a little envelope.

  650. And they're like, it's not much, but we heard you guys are going

  651. on missions. So whenever we got back, this

  652. was crazy. We bought them this thing from

  653. Miserom and then my dad printed out group pictures of us with

  654. the kids and put it in these frames.

  655. So last Sunday we presented it to them.

  656. We went upstairs. They were like, how was the

  657. trip? Like, where was Burma?

  658. We're like, what's Miseron? But there's a lot of y'all over

  659. there like, you know, like, and I'll show you.

  660. So they were, so they were just so happy, you know.

  661. And I told him I was like, you guys were part of this, which is

  662. true. They were, they were a part of,

  663. of us going through prayer, even to the point where they were

  664. like, next year we need to help you raise funds to go, you know,

  665. and this is like a little church.

  666. And then my dad sends me this picture right here.

  667. Sorry, man, I got to, I got to show it to you.

  668. My dad sends me a picture of what they did with the stuff

  669. that we gave them. And that's in front of their

  670. church. Bro.

  671. So like they pray man, right? Like bro, that's so.

  672. Humbling. Yeah, dude, I I get when he sent

  673. me that, I got choked up because it's like, it's not, it's not

  674. the amount of money, right, But it's the heart, right?

  675. Everything that you know. So it was, it was just awesome.

  676. Yeah, man, that's. Further believers, yeah.

  677. But that's huge. Yeah.

  678. That's that's so encouraging. Yeah, exactly.

  679. Beautiful. Yeah, but but I say all that

  680. because the nations are here and so we don't have to travel to go

  681. far. They're they're here.

  682. Yeah, it's time to be aware. That point, yeah, that's all I

  683. got, bro. Yeah, closing thought, man,

  684. that's this is good, man. Just I just want to let let my

  685. only closing thought. I just enjoyed Sunday, man.

  686. I don't know how to explain it. I knew a lot of people out of

  687. town didn't feel like it, but there was just something about

  688. Sunday where I just, I don't know, like just being with

  689. everyone, worshipping together. It was.

  690. It was awesome. Indeed.

  691. Yeah, that's all I, that's all of my ended with.

  692. That's all I got to say. But we love y'all we out.

  693. Yes, peace.
