  1. This is City Post Church. We're about three things.

  2. Build equipped and send. All under the Lordship of Jesus

  3. Christ. A small church plant in Fort

  4. Worth, TX. Who decided to do things a

  5. little differently? Adoramos Ajesu Cristo I love

  6. City Post because of the people. It's where I belong.

  7. We truly preach the. Word.

  8. I love City Post because of the community we've been able to

  9. build. To do ministry.

  10. Like Jesus? For light to push back darkness.

  11. This is City Post podcast. They've done, I mean, even when

  12. Jesus walked on the road to Emmaus.

  13. It says that he proved that he was who he said he was.

  14. So just a little recap as we dive.

  15. Into verse 15, remember. Like they had some.

  16. Isms that were bleeding through the church.

  17. Some some. Jacked up theologies.

  18. And one of. Those big jacked up theologies

  19. was this whole idea that Jesus. Is not God.

  20. Jesus is not deity. Many people believe that.

  21. Jesus was a great teacher. He was a prophet.

  22. He was a miracle. Worker.

  23. But once you start saying that Jesus is.

  24. God it it. It kind of pulls up the window

  25. on a lot. Of these theologies.

  26. And then people start pushing back and they're like, hold on a

  27. second. Like that's not, that's not what

  28. we that that's not proven and what Paul's going to teach us.

  29. Today in this passage, is that Jesus?

  30. Is not only God. He's the only God.

  31. And he's the God. That we.

  32. Serve and my prayer for you. Guys, is that as we walk through

  33. this text? You see the beauty and the.

  34. Glory of Christ. And that it opens your eyes to

  35. something that is so much greater than religion, something

  36. that is so much greater than a than a feeling.

  37. And that you surrender your hearts and your.

  38. Lives to the. King of Kings and his name is

  39. Jesus. All right, so we're kicking off

  40. in. Verse. 15 Now this is a monster

  41. of a passage. Like we could spend all year.

  42. Going through 15 to 23, right? So we're going to have to skim a

  43. few, cross a few things and what we're going to see.

  44. Here is that Paul? Is going to.

  45. Address all of these false. Teachings and all of these.

  46. Heresies with the supremacy of Christ His.

  47. Eminence, like everything that he, everything that he is he.

  48. Is the greatness of who Jesus is.

  49. And we're going to point out five things that Paul is going

  50. to prove. That Christ is all.

  51. Supreme through creation and his deity.

  52. And then we're going to look. At a few.

  53. Things how he. Shows that he's all.

  54. Supreme through the Church. Because that's exactly what

  55. Paul's read. Writing.

  56. To. So let's go.

  57. Ahead and look at verse one. I mean verse 15 and verse 15

  58. says this. We're going to read and talk.

  59. All right. So so we can digest this so

  60. verse 15. And 16 it says the Son so as

  61. Jesus. Jesus is the.

  62. Image of the invisible God, the first born over all creation,

  63. for in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on

  64. earth, visible and invisible. Where their?

  65. Thrones or powers or dominions or authorities?

  66. Or rulers all. Things have been created through

  67. him and for him. So you know what?

  68. Before we dive in, let's just get to point number one.

  69. Point #1 is. This Jesus Christ is God.

  70. Period. That's what we believe.

  71. That's what we worship here at City Post Church.

  72. Jesus Christ is God. And there's nothing going to

  73. change our mind about it. Because it it says.

  74. It in the scriptures. Jesus Christ is.

  75. God, in verse 15, Paul begins. With that Jesus Christ.

  76. Is the image of the invisible God.

  77. So there's two. There's some Greek words.

  78. That we have to look at. All right, so some of this stuff

  79. I'm going to geek out on and some of it we might just kind of

  80. take a take a summary over. So look at the first two Greek.

  81. Words in the text. All right, the word.

  82. Image is a word called econ, so it'll be on the screen.

  83. So econ means copy or likeness of it.

  84. And what what he's saying is that is that the sun is an econ

  85. of the invisible God. So what Econ.

  86. We also see a word called karactel.

  87. So karactel means that. He reflects the son.

  88. So what Paul is? Saying is that Jesus is not just

  89. an image of the invisible. God, He is the exact.

  90. Likeness of the invisible. God.

  91. So he's not just a representation of who God is,

  92. He's the manifestation of. Who God is and God.

  93. Is everything in Jesus Christ? For now, humans are like, well,

  94. Ricky, aren't we made in God's image as well?

  95. And we see that in Genesis 126 and 27.

  96. For we've been made and it uses the same word.

  97. We've been made in the econ. We've been made in the image.

  98. Of God, but the. Problem with.

  99. Us is that. We do not.

  100. Hold God's characteristics also. The problem is that God is.

  101. Holy, and we're not. So even though we're made in the

  102. image of God, we don't. Bear his characteristics.

  103. We're not, I'm depressed. We're not immutable.

  104. We're not. We don't have any of that stuff,

  105. so. Easier way to.

  106. Say it. We're human, but we're not

  107. divine. Now, some of you guys are like,

  108. I'm human, but I might be a little fine.

  109. Oh, you're awake. Cool.

  110. All right. See how I?

  111. Looked at my wife when I said that, right, Ronnie points.

  112. But we're we're human beings. So even though we're made in

  113. God's image, we don't carry. His characteristics we're still.

  114. Broken a better. Way to describe this.

  115. Is Hebrews 1/3. It says the.

  116. Sun is the radiance. Of God's.

  117. Glory and the exact representation of His being,

  118. sustaining all things by his powerful.

  119. Word after he had provided. Purification for sins He sat

  120. down at the right hand of the. Majesty of Heaven.

  121. So in Hebrews 1. That word.

  122. Exact representation is the. Greek word karaktev.

  123. Karaktev. Means it's like a stamp.

  124. It's like an engraving tool. So even in Hebrews.

  125. It says that Jesus. Is the exact stamp.

  126. Of who God is, he reflects cried the same way that.

  127. Light reflects the Son. Jesus reflects the Father.

  128. Even Jesus said this in the New Testament, where his.

  129. Disciples were like. Man, we want to see the Father

  130. we. Want to see God?

  131. You always talk. About him and Jesus says, if you

  132. want to see God, you look at me. Everything I say comes from the

  133. Father. I say nothing that is not.

  134. From the father they're. Connected Jesus is God in the

  135. flesh. John 114 The Word became flesh

  136. and made its dwelling among us. We have seen his.

  137. Glory, the glory. Of the one and only son who came

  138. from the father. Full.

  139. Of grace and truth we have seen the Son.

  140. Jesus is God. In the flesh.

  141. And what he? Does is that he makes the

  142. invisible? God visible to us.

  143. So if Jesus is God, then we're able to.

  144. Touch him and they were able to talk with him and they were able

  145. to see him and listen. If you want to know what.

  146. God's like you look at Jesus. If you want to know what God

  147. cares. About you look at Jesus.

  148. If you want to know how God treats.

  149. People, you look at Jesus. Everything that you want to know

  150. about. God, you look at Jesus because?

  151. Jesus is the manifestation. Of God.

  152. He's made in his icon, but he also.

  153. Has the corrected to show us that He is the stamp of who God

  154. is? All right, we got to keep going.

  155. We could just stay. Here all day all right so the.

  156. Son, Jesus is the image of the invisible.

  157. God, but here it gets a little bit crazy, too.

  158. He's also the first. Born of all creation now.

  159. There's a lot of cults. Out there and other religions

  160. that see this verse and they're like, we got them.

  161. Jesus was created by God. That means that when Jesus was

  162. born. But here here's the problem with

  163. that that verse. If Jesus was created by.

  164. God, then that means that he's not eternal, and if he's not

  165. eternal, then that means he can't claim to be God.

  166. So what what Paul does here is that Paul uses a very specific

  167. Greek word so that. 1 You could put up.

  168. So there's these two Greek words that that Paul.

  169. Uses. Here 1 is called protoctos.

  170. The other one is Protoctos, right?

  171. So there's two, there's two separate.

  172. Ones OK, that's the other. One got flip it all right there

  173. you go right so so there's. Two separate ones.

  174. So protuptos. Pretty much means that he has

  175. been first born. So anybody that's been the first

  176. born here? That's the word that would be

  177. used to to talk about it. But then the other one is first.

  178. Created. So the other word is

  179. protoctistos OK. So if he's talking.

  180. About Jesus. Being first born Paul.

  181. Should have used protoctistos. But here's the problem.

  182. Because Jesus was not created. So what Paul does is Paul uses

  183. the. Other Greek term protoctos,

  184. which means chronologically. So what he's saying is that

  185. Jesus was not created. He wasn't born like God did not

  186. create him. Because he always existed.

  187. So what Paul does is he uses that Greek word to talk about

  188. the order. That means that Jesus was first.

  189. First born of what? He's giving Jesus a position.

  190. He's saying Jesus. Was always first.

  191. And here's the thing, in Greek and in Jewish culture, the first

  192. born son had the right to the inheritance.

  193. Always, everybody always did that.

  194. Like we see that, but the. Problem here is that he's not

  195. necessarily saying that he's first born in that.

  196. Way he's saying chronologically that Jesus is first born because

  197. he receives. The inheritance.

  198. It's like for an example in the Old Testament, Esau was first

  199. born. But Jacob had the right to the.

  200. Inheritance so that word would change.

  201. Jesus wasn't created. First Jesus was always first.

  202. His ranking was always 1st and he has the right to the

  203. inheritance. To all creation.

  204. It all belongs to him, so he's saying that he's not.

  205. Only God, but. Everything under the earth and

  206. the sun, everything visible and invisible, everything that

  207. inheritance all belongs to. Christ, it's all His.

  208. Give you an example. So let's say that if I'm.

  209. Talking with. Let's say like if.

  210. Gavino is coaching his son's baseball team.

  211. He says. Hey Gavino is the coach of his

  212. son's 8 and under baseball team. If I take that phrase and I

  213. think. About it.

  214. It's like, well, like. If Gavino is the coach of his

  215. son's baseball team, does that mean that?

  216. Gavino is 8 years. Old No.

  217. Does that mean that Gavino. Plays baseball with his.

  218. Kids. No.

  219. Does he wear the same uniform? No.

  220. I mean in likeness and likeness. Chill.

  221. Does like like so if I say that? Term.

  222. None of us think of that. Why?

  223. Because we know Gavino. We know that he's an adult, but

  224. we also know. That the word coach.

  225. What the word coach means? So it means that Gavino runs the

  226. team it. Means that he guides their

  227. steps. It means that he's the one that

  228. organizes the games. He calls the buses.

  229. He tells the players what to do. He.

  230. Orders them the uniforms. He does all that management,

  231. it's the same thing. With Christ, Christ being.

  232. First born of all creation? No, like Christ runs the game.

  233. He's the one that puts everything in order.

  234. He's the one that tells everything what to do.

  235. He's the one that makes it all happen.

  236. And that's where. These Greek words are.

  237. So important to us. Christ is the first.

  238. Born of all creation doesn't mean that.

  239. He was created. He wasn't.

  240. Created Christ has always. Been eternal, he's always.

  241. Existed. So let's get into.

  242. So what we? See in point #2 point number. 2

  243. is that Jesus is before all. Things.

  244. So Jesus has always been before all things.

  245. So if he wasn't created, that means that.

  246. He's always existed. He was there when God created

  247. the heavens and the earth. He was there when God.

  248. Flooded the world. He was there.

  249. In Sodom and Gomorrah, he was there in the walls of Jericho

  250. fell down. He was there when he saw David

  251. knock down Goliath. Jesus was always there, He

  252. didn't just show. Up in the New Testament, he's

  253. the eternal God. But also we see.

  254. Point number. Three, Jesus created all.

  255. That is not God. That means that.

  256. Jesus is the creator of. Everything in this world that is

  257. not God. Look at verse 16.

  258. For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on

  259. earth, visible and invisible. Where their?

  260. Thrones or powers? Or rulers or authorities.

  261. All things have been created through him and for him.

  262. See what the false teachers in Colossae they view Jesus as just

  263. the. 1st and and maybe most important emanation, which means

  264. like a spirit or another being just one of many and they were

  265. convinced that there might have been a.

  266. A lesser God. Down the line, who created all

  267. materialistic things so when all of these emanations would

  268. combined and that that's when. God would be worshipped.

  269. And used and. Jesus was just a piece of the

  270. puzzle, which Paul is like, absolutely.

  271. Not because Jesus is not just a percentage.

  272. Guys, this doesn't. Work like Captain Planet.

  273. You know what I'm talking about. Shows my age.

  274. Captain Planet, Everybody had the rings, water, all that.

  275. But when? All all.

  276. Powers combined, I am Captain Planet and then the guy.

  277. Goes crazy and what the the church in Colossae believed it

  278. was like that like there were all these.

  279. Separate types of emanate and then.

  280. But when all powers combined then God was able to.

  281. No, that's not the way. It works.

  282. And what Paul is saying is like, no Jesus.

  283. Is the creator of. Everything in heaven and on

  284. earth. But watch this the.

  285. Visible and the invisible. I like how we.

  286. Think we're? Creators, and if this is the

  287. truth. Listen, none of us.

  288. Are creators. All of us are just.

  289. Rearrangers We are great managers of.

  290. Stuff. Jesus is the creator.

  291. All we did was. Rearrange atoms to create an

  292. atom bomb. All I did.

  293. I didn't write anything down. I just took paper that he

  294. created. And ink.

  295. That he created. Into a pen with the materials

  296. that man used. To create it.

  297. And for me, all I did was manage the stuff that he gave me.

  298. Jesus is the one that. Creates everything he created.

  299. All of the molecules he created, the gases and the metals.

  300. And like if you. Look at science, the only reason

  301. that science exists. Is because Jesus created.

  302. Everything that science needs to prove things, Jesus creates all

  303. things, but not just everything tangible and materialistically.

  304. It says that he created things. Invisible.

  305. So here goes a little bit deeper, because also there was

  306. a. Teaching in that church.

  307. That they would worship. Angels.

  308. So what does Paul? Do here, Paul says.

  309. Hold on A. Second, because Jesus does not

  310. need angels help, He's the one that created them.

  311. What does it say? Thrones or.

  312. Powers or rulers or authorities? Jesus was the one that put them.

  313. So what does Paul do? Paul ranks them and he's like

  314. no, no, no, like, line them all. Up Jesus is the creator of all

  315. of that. Don't worship angels.

  316. You worship the one that created the angels.

  317. Look at this. Revelation 22.

  318. Like Ricky, where's that in the Bible?

  319. I'm so glad you asked me. Revelation 22 verses 8 and 9 is

    Revelation 22:8

  320. This is the. This is John as he's seen a

  321. vision. Of of Christ, he just saw the

  322. the seals. In heaven John 22 verses 8-9 it

  323. says I, John am the one who heard and saw these things, and

  324. when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to.

  325. Worship at the feet. Of the Angel who had been shown

  326. them to me. But he said to me, don't do

  327. that. I am a fellow servant with you

  328. and with your. Fellow prophets and with all who

  329. keep the words of the scroll, worship God.

  330. That's. Coming from an Angel, even the

  331. angels in heaven understand that.

  332. Jesus is. Supreme over the Mall.

  333. And Paul is saying Jesus is. Supreme, not just over the

  334. angels that are. Holy, but also.

  335. The angels that are demonic. Jesus rules them all.

  336. Do you know what that means for us?

  337. That if Jesus is. Supreme over everything that is

  338. all evil. That means that they must ask

  339. for His permission to do something to you.

  340. That's how he rolls. Man, that's how he.

  341. Rules Jesus created all the. Angels and listen, Paul ranks

  342. them up there and lines them up and knocks it all down.

  343. All of that stuff. Rulers, powers, all that.

  344. Listen, Jesus. Creates all of that.

  345. Which we see number. Four that we.

  346. Have got to understand Jesus Christ created everything for.

  347. Jesus Christ, where do we? Get that from keep reading that

  348. verse. All things have been created.

  349. Through. Him and for what?

  350. For him, and I know for some of us, that kind of feels a little

  351. bit. Weird to say like.

  352. What? It's not for me, no.

  353. He. Created everything for him.

  354. Because he loves us as God. All the material, all spiritual,

  355. the universe, it's. All for His pleasure and it's

  356. all for His glory. Here's the thing about.

  357. Jesus, because Jesus is. God, he doesn't need sleep, He

  358. doesn't need rest, He doesn't need this.

  359. He's in heaven, ruling and reigning for all eternity.

  360. And the Bible says that the enemies are under.

  361. His footstool Jesus. Is God and he demonstrates that.

  362. And. Everything that he creates is

  363. for his reign and renown and for.

  364. His glory. Why did God create us?

  365. It's for His glory. And even as God created us and

  366. we rebel against our Creator instead of just wiping us out

  367. like little ants, you know what? He.

  368. Does he looks at us? He's like, man, I love you

  369. enough that I'm going to reconcile you back to me, so I'm

  370. going to send. God, who's Jesus?

  371. To come down to earth to take on.

  372. Flesh and he's. Going to live.

  373. A perfect life. And he's going to become the

  374. payment that's going to bring you back to me, my creation,

  375. back to me. So Jesus.

  376. Created everything for Jesus and in point number. 5 Jesus holds

  377. it all together, So Jesus. Doesn't just create everything

  378. tangible the. Stuff that you can.

  379. See visible, invisible everything.

  380. Is held together because. Of him the reason that you do

  381. not self combust. Is because Jesus is.

  382. Holding us together. The reason why these these?

  383. Wires do not just blow. Up is because Jesus is holding

  384. it all together. Jesus is the.

  385. One that is keeping everything moving and working the way it

  386. should and in motion. So because Christ already

  387. existed, he's he's. The one that created it all.

  388. But he's also the one that sustains everything Jesus

  389. maintains. Power and.

  390. Balance necessary so that. Way we could exist.

  391. And that life could continue. Watch this.

  392. Everybody take a deep breath. Now blow it out.

  393. That's because Jesus allowed you to do that.

  394. Do you understand, and I think some of us don't understand the

  395. magnitude. Of Christ.

  396. And how how great he is in the creation of the world and that

  397. everything. Is held together because.

  398. Of him so Jesus. Has it all together because

  399. he's. The one that is doing it now,

  400. we're going to take a quick transition.

  401. So, Paul? Just walked through.

  402. Hey, like through. Creation, the supremacy of.

  403. Christ. This is who Christ is.

  404. But now we're going to take a little.

  405. Bit of a. A slide and we're.

  406. Going to look at the church so he's.

  407. He's going to talk to them about Christ being part of the church

  408. and how he ends up, how he ends up being with the church.

  409. So look at verse 18. Verse 18 says this and he is the

  410. head of the body. The church.

  411. He is the. Beginning and the first born

  412. from among the dead so then everything he might have the

  413. supremacy so we're going to see three things in verse 18 and

  414. it's not going to be on the screen but.

  415. Christ is the head of the Church.

  416. That's what it says in 18. He is the head of the body.

  417. And listen, anything without a head is dead, but anything with

  418. two heads, it's a monster. So if.

  419. Christ is not the. Head of the church.

  420. It's not a church. But if Christ and the pastor are

  421. the head of. The church, it's a monster and

  422. it hurts people. That's.

  423. Why we always say? Jesus is the one that runs this

  424. thing, not, not me, not anybody in here.

  425. That's why on that sign it says. Under the Lordship of Jesus

  426. Christ, because this church is His.

  427. So Christ is the the head of the.

  428. Church, and I like how Paul uses this metaphor.

  429. Because the head. Holds the brain.

  430. The head is the one that that. Controls the body and without

  431. the head it doesn't work. So Christ controls every.

  432. Part of the church and it gives it.

  433. Life and direction every. Detail the discussion.

  434. And all this shows the pre eminence of Jesus when it comes.

  435. To our church. So then Paul says he is the.

  436. Beginning. There's that rank again.

  437. He's the beginning of the Church and the first born among the

  438. dead, so that in everything he might have supremacy, the Church

  439. was birthed only. Because Christ is the.

  440. Beginning He's the first one to come out of the grave.

  441. But then some of y'all are. Like, well, Ricky, like, didn't

  442. others get resurrected too? What about?

  443. Them. Yeah, but they they were.

  444. Born they lived they. Died.

  445. They were resurrected. But then they died again.

  446. End story, Jesus. Always existed, was born, lived

  447. a life, died, buried, resurrected, and he'll never die

  448. again. That's the first born.

  449. Nobody else in the in the world is.

  450. Ever. Going to do that?

  451. And because. He did that.

  452. All of us are following as well. You know there's a saying a.

  453. Lot of rappers use. They're like, man, if one of us

  454. makes it. Out the hood.

  455. We all make it out the hood. But with Christ.

  456. It's because I conquer. Death we all.

  457. Get to conquer death. If you follow me, he's the. 1st

  458. it's that. Order again.

  459. It's the source. Of pre eminence.

  460. He gave his life for the church so that.

  461. Way we're able to become the. Church so he.

  462. Has supremacy and it's all done. It's that chronological, that

  463. word again. And then look at verse 9 for.

  464. God was pleased to have all his. Fullness well in him and through

  465. Him to reconcile all to himself, all things, whether things on

  466. earth or things in heaven, by making peace.

  467. Through his blood shed. On the cross.

  468. So this is really interesting because now he's addressing how.

  469. Jesus because he's God, how he's able.

  470. To make things. Right with God the Father, so he

  471. has the. Fullness in him.

  472. I love this word. Fullness here, because fullness

  473. means like an exchange. There's a, There's a.

  474. A Greek word. Called Pluroma and we see this

  475. all through the News Testament. Pluroma it means like the

  476. fullness of something, like something was filled.

  477. All the way to the top. And what Paul is saying is that

  478. God was pleased to have his. Pluroma all in Christ, and then

  479. it says. Dwell in Christ so.

  480. That means it ain't going nowhere.

  481. It means that he's camping out, so his Pluroma abides in.

  482. Christ, that means that it is set forever.

  483. Here's. Why that's so important?

  484. Because others. Are going to come and claim to

  485. be God, but they're not going to be around forever and they're

  486. going to mess up and they're going to sin and they're going

  487. to bleed and they're going to fall off and they're going to

  488. do. Ridiculous things and people.

  489. Are going to worship them and honor them, but it does not

  490. dwell in them and that's. Where that's where Paul is

  491. saying is that Christ has. The fullness now, because Jesus.

  492. Now follow me here. Because Jesus has the.

  493. Fullness. Of who God is.

  494. Now through him he's able to reconcile to himself all things.

  495. So because we sin, we have been separated from a holy and

  496. righteous. God so.

  497. God is going to require some sort of payment for us.

  498. To go back. To him and have a relationship

  499. with him. What's that payment look like?

  500. There's got to be a set of, there's got.

  501. To be some kind of standard that.

  502. A holy and righteous God requires.

  503. And that standard is perfection. But none of us will ever attain

  504. perfection. It's.

  505. Impossible. So if the.

  506. Standard is perfection. Then that means that there's got

  507. to. Be a life for a life there's.

  508. Got to be blood involved. That's why in the.

  509. Old Testament the priest would. Go and the priest would would

  510. look at the sacrificial. Lambs and and the animals and

  511. examine them and then give. A go ahead in order to sacrifice

  512. that to a holy and righteous God, but because.

  513. Jesus has the fullness of God, his all, His Holiness, his

  514. character that means. That Jesus is the perfect

  515. sacrifice. In.

  516. Order for God's wrath to be satisfied, that's called.

  517. Propitiation. We get that payment.

  518. So whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making

  519. peace. Through the blood shed.

  520. On the cross. Why does Paul say peace?

  521. Because the truth is, is that before.

  522. We were reconciled to God. We were enemies.

  523. Of God, you're like what, Rick? That's kind of cold, no?

  524. You hate. God, unless you're founding.

  525. Christ, how can you say I? Hate God because you don't want

  526. his things. The alienation goes both ways.

  527. Look at verse 21. Once we were alienated from God

  528. and we're enemies in the minds. Because of your evil behavior,

  529. you know a better word for this? Is instead of enemies.

  530. Is hateful y'all? Y'all were like hateful toward

  531. God, so we were. Alienated.

  532. Alienated from God because of our sin.

  533. A holy, unrighteous God cannot be in the presence of sin.

  534. Light cannot be in the presence of darkness.

  535. It's impossible. But at the same time, we

  536. alienate. Ourselves from God because we

  537. love. Our sin and we want to do what

  538. we want to do, and because we love our sin and God is a holy

  539. and righteous God, I can't be near him.

  540. And at the same time I don't want to be near him because I

  541. don't want to follow Him. So something's got to give.

  542. How do we? How do we fix this?

  543. Jesus, Jesus. Being God, all eternal, stepped

  544. out of heaven. He put on flesh.

  545. And he goes to the cross. And he?

  546. Gives his life. Like they didn't kill him.

  547. No, he gave. His life, it was all part of the

  548. Father's will. Oh, that way, through the blood

  549. of Christ we could have peace with.

  550. A holy and righteous God. Without.

  551. Jesus, there's no peace. With God, so that hate goes.

  552. Away and now love enters so because now I have.

  553. God's. Love for my life and because

  554. love has entered my life, I'm able to go to a holy and.

  555. Righteous God and God. Does not see Ricky the Sinner or

  556. Ricky the one that. Hates God.

  557. God sees Ricky. The Son now I see he sees Christ

  558. in me, so I'm able to go to a holy and righteous God and call

  559. him ABBA Father, I am adopted into the family of God and all

  560. of. This is because of Jesus Christ.

  561. He's the one that made this work.

  562. And just to wrap this thing up, verse 22.

  563. But now he has reconciled you. By Christ's physical body

  564. through. Death to present you wholly in

  565. his. Sight which talked about that

  566. without. Blemish and free from

  567. accusation. Did you all catch that word?

  568. Accusation, You know the the the biggest thing that pulls us.

  569. Away. From doing what God want is

  570. people accusing you of something.

  571. Whether it is spiritual? Or in person, somebody's going

  572. to accuse you of something and you're going to get.

  573. All in your fields and. You're going to kind of crawl up

  574. and you're going to go. Away but you're.

  575. Saying man no like you have been bought.

  576. By the blood of. Christ, there is no accusation

  577. in you. I like in Romans this is for

  578. there is no condemnation for all of those who are found in

  579. Christ. We are free.

  580. Say whatever. You want about me?

  581. Who cares? I am found in Christ make.

  582. Fun of me, who cares? I am found in Christ.

  583. I have freedom in Christ. There's nothing you could say

  584. that's going to embarrass me or there's nothing you're going to

  585. say that's going to take me away from my faith 'cause I

  586. understand I'm found in. Christ give all the.

  587. Accusations you want, I might feel.

  588. Bad for a little bit. But there ain't nothing that's

  589. going to say I don't believe in this anymore.

  590. No, we are free from accusation. And if you can and then look at

  591. 20. Three, this is key.

  592. Look how Paul wraps this thing up if you continue in your

  593. faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held

  594. out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you

  595. heard. And that has been proclaimed to

  596. every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a

  597. servant to. Paul is saying because of

  598. everything Jesus. Christ is God.

  599. He stepped out of heaven. He.

  600. Became that payment for us. And because of all of that?

  601. Because he reconciled us, Paul is saying, listen to me, stand

  602. firm, continue in the faith established.

  603. Hold on, do not move from the hope.

  604. Who's the hope, Christ? Our hope is that one day he's

  605. going to come back again, so I'm going to live my life knowing

  606. that he's coming. It's not time to chill, it's

  607. time to get after it. Jesus is coming back.

  608. So I'm going to. Live like he is, don't fall out

  609. of your faith. Stand firm and listen.

  610. Many of us have questions, or some of us feel like.

  611. Wishy washy. Some of us can be a little bit,

  612. just be honest. We have our little spiritual.

  613. Temper tantrums where things don't go our way.

  614. Like Jesus forgot. And now I'm a mad at God.

  615. But that's not the. Supremacy of Christ.

  616. If you understand how. Jesus works.

  617. That means every. Single thing is controlled by

  618. him. I don't know if you all noticed

  619. this morning we played some music.

  620. Out of this speaker. Because our CPU decided not to

  621. blast the music out of it. And I remember sitting back

  622. there just thinking, you know what?

  623. Maybe just because Jesus wanted it this way.

  624. Maybe it's because Jesus. Allowed it.

  625. Yes, maybe because our CPU needs an update.

  626. But also if Christ. Wanted it to work.

  627. It would have worked. And guys, listen, I know that

  628. sounds like Ricky. That's a little.

  629. No, it's not because. God.

  630. Jesus is God. And if we start living our lives

  631. a little bit more that way, like when things don't, I didn't get

  632. that job, man. I, I was, I was the most

  633. qualified person that didn't give me that.

  634. Job. Well, maybe because Christ

  635. didn't want you to have it. Maybe because that's something

  636. better for you. Oh.

  637. That relationship didn't. Work in my life.

  638. I don't know what I did wrong. You did nothing wrong.

  639. Maybe Jesus just. Doesn't want you to have that.

  640. There's so many things in our world, in our lives, that we

  641. need to. Take a step back.

  642. And think of the supremacy of Christ, and instead of thinking

  643. about other things, filling those gaps.

  644. Think of Jesus. Jesus will fill those gaps.

  645. Jesus is all supreme, and Jesus rules everything.

  646. So what? I want to do today is I want to

  647. end with five questions and then we're going to worship.

  648. I want you to ponder 5 questions and these are the five points,

  649. but I'm going to flip them on us.

  650. Is. Jesus, my God.

  651. You need to ask. Yourself that question.

  652. Is Jesus your God? Is Jesus the God that you

  653. worship? And if he's not?

  654. Today's a great day for you. To surrender to him.

  655. Is Jesus Christ before? All of my things, everything in

  656. my. Life do I?

  657. Bring Jesus around it. Or is Jesus the.

  658. Center of it and everything else comes around.

  659. It there's a big. Difference there.

  660. Is Jesus before? All of my things do I understand

  661. and do I believe that Jesus is my creator?

  662. Because if Jesus. Is my creator.

  663. That means that Jesus does not make mistakes, And if Jesus does

  664. not make mistakes, that means that he created me perfectly.

  665. The way and purposely. That he needed me to be created.

  666. Regardless. Of how I got here on this earth.

  667. I'm not a mistake. Jesus is my Creator.

  668. Does Jesus? Hold everything in my.

  669. Life together. Do you understand that does?

  670. Does he hold it all together? Everything that I've gone.

  671. Through everything that like. Sin has crept in and almost

  672. destroyed. If it wasn't for Christ.

  673. I don't know where I would be right now.

  674. Jesus holds my life together. And then lastly is whose?

  675. Glory am I pursuing. Whose?

  676. Glory Are you pursuing? Are you pursuing your glory, or

  677. are you pursuing the glory of? Jesus.

  678. Jesus Christ created everything. For the glory of Jesus Christ.

  679. Jesus is Lord. Jesus is God.

  680. And he is who we're going to worship here.

  681. At City Post Church. We don't worship any other

  682. entities, we don't worship angels, we don't worship

  683. anything that's not Christ and my.

  684. Prayer, is that you? Surrender your heart to Him.

  685. Because He's God and He is Lord of our lives and He is God

  686. alone. We'll pray for us.
