Discovering Christ, Pt. 2: The Birth of The Savior | Jon Valdez, Vidal Panos Jr.

Today, we're going to continue our series on discovering

Christ. So last week, we've talked about

Jesus role in creation. Yes.

And right now, this is part 2 of discovering Christ and we're

going to be zeroing in on the birth of the Savior.

Yeah, that's right. All of you are hearing us would

verse 10 to 12. Yeah, so if you haven't, if you

Yes. So let's begin reading scripture

number one. So Matthew chapter 1, verses 18

Matthew 1:18–25

to 25. This is how the birth of Jesus,

the Messiah came up. His mother Mary was pledged to

be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was

found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit 19 because Joseph

her husband was faithful to the law and yet did not want to

expose her to Public Disgrace. He had in mind to divorce her

quietly but after he had considered this, an angel of the

Lord appeared to him in a dream and said Joseph son of David do

not be afraid to take Mary Mary home as your wife because what

is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.

She will give birth to a son and you are to give him the name

Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.

All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said.

Through the prophet, the Virgin will conceive and give birth to

a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means god with

us. When Joseph woke up, he did What

the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home

as his wife but he did not consummate their marriage until

she gave birth to a son and he gave him the name Jesus.

Yeah. And now the scripture to is Luke

21 to 18 in those days. Caesar, Augustus issued, a

decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.

This was the first census that took place.

For Curious was governor of Syria and everyone went to their

town to register. So Joseph also went up from the

town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea to Bethlehem the town of

David because he belonged to the house and line of David.

He went there to register with Mary who was pledged to be

married to him and was expecting a child while they were there.

The time came For the baby to be born and she gave birth to her

firstborn a son. She wrapped him in clothes and

place him in a Manger because there was no guest room

available for them. And there were shepherds living

out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks

at night and Angel of the Lord appeared to them.

And the glory of the Lord Shone around them and they were

terrified, but the angel said to them do not Not be afraid.

I bring you good news. That will cause great joy for

all the people today in the town of David.

A savior has been born to you. He is the Messiah, the Lord,

this will be assigned to you. You will find a baby wrapped in

cloths and lying in a Manger. Suddenly a great company of the

heavenly host appeared with the angel praising God, and saying,

glory to God in the highest heaven and on the Earth.

Peace to those on whom his favor rests when the Angels had left

them and gone to heaven. The shepherd's said to one

another. Let's go to Bethlehem and see

this thing that has happened which the Lord has told us about

so they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph and the baby who

was lying in the manger when they had seen him, they spread

the word concerning. What had been told.

Them about this child and all who heard it were amazed at what

the shepherd's said to them. Wow.

And scripture three Acts Chapter 4 verses 10 to 12 then know

Acts 4:10–12

this. You and all the people of Israel

it is by the name of Jesus. Christ of Nazareth whom you

crucified but whom God raised from the dead that this man

stands before you healed Jesus. It's the stone you Builders

rejected. Actin which has become the

Cornerstone salvation is found in.

No one else for. There is no other name under

Heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.

Yes, so that's it. Those are our verses for today.

Now, it's time to discuss and share with each other about what

the passage teaches about. Yes.

All right, so let's get into it and since then, this has some

narrative, one of the best ways and sharing, what we can all

learn, is that, we identify First, the characters, and

enumerated, It what we can learn from them, based on what we have

just read. Yes.

And I'd like to start off with Mary, okay?

So you can so go ahead. Basing, the, in the scriptures

we have bread. Mary was used by God who

conceived Jesus, Through the holy spirit.

Amen. Yeah, which is a fulfillment of

the prophecy. Yeah, the prophecy in Isaiah.

with the birth of Christ, but it was connected years.

I seen the Old Testament in the first episode of the previous

series. We did, which was discovering

God. We have agreed that the Bible is

God's word that it is alive and active.

So this is it, the writer of this passage?

We read and the author, who wrote the book of Isaiah did not

meet at all that yet here, we see that a verification of of At

the end, you know, that no prophecy of scripture came about

by the prophets, own interpretation of things.

It's amazing. You know, how God can make

something make sense with his word today through Mary?

Yeah, amazing. Also I've noticed that she, she

was she she had a baby but without a father.

Yeah, I mean yes without a father.

That's right. So, Yeah you me zoom and father.

Yes amazing right I don't know how to explain it.

I bet even science. Cannot yeah we fathom it but he

had here we are the power of God displayed through a virgin

birth. Yeah, amazing I mean he's so

let's go on with our next character which is Joseph.

Yeah. Joseph You know, he was a good

guy. Yeah.

And what he did was actually I think mature enough because he

he took charge and you know he you know he had he had a plan to

divorce marry because she was already pregnant while they were

still engaged. Yeah.

And you like it's really hard my must be heartbreaking for his

part if it's me. I'm probably doing the same.

Yeah. But which which is what Joseph

is. You know, planning to do.

But think thank God, he did that.

And he in fact, he did not even allow Mary to be embarrassed and

beerus, and in Public Disgrace as the what, what we've just

read, you know, it's really good that he had in mind, that that

she's just a person that he is just a person, Joseph, but yet,

he doesn't want to. He doesn't want to shame to

bring to shame his Wife-to-be. Yeah, but before that, before

really deciding to do a divorce to make a divorce with we her

future. I his future wife.

Yeah a good thing is Joseph fell asleep.

And there, he has a dream, the angel of the Lord told him to

do, not divorce marry but yeah, her as your as his wife And she

will conceive my name Emmanuel and they all call him.

Jesus. Yes.

So one thing I can I can understand or I can observe with

Joseph. Is that he heard from God?

Yes, I hears from God and he obeys it.

Yes. And he did it without any ill

feeling about it he because he obeyed.

And that was that's a Actually good.

You know, we need more people like Joseph.

To that creative adult. Yeah.

For sharing. But the most important character

that we have 20 in to focus on. Yes, it's Jesus, baby.

Jesus, in this case, according to what we've learned and what

we can learn in the scripture is that he's well savior.

Yeah, and he is Lord, yes, of course.

It's interesting what the angel. The Lord told Joseph what he

should name the baby. Yeah, but that he shall be

called Emmanuel which literally means God With Us.

Yes, God with us. So, I think that speaks for

itself already god with us as human beings and he is God, and

he showed up maybe in the form of a child, you know, in the

previous lesson, we We've discussed the word became flesh.

So this is it. This is like the, yeah, this is

like the we're seeing it right in front of our eyes.

Yeah, that God is with us in the, in the human form.

Amen. One thing is Jesus is the savior

but there is no other savior accept him.

That's what we have read in the scriptures.

So that means there's no other way for salvation, except for

Jesus. Own because he is the only

savior, you can save us. Amen.

And also, that's not forget that one of the characters who were

mentioned the characters. I said, because plural where the

Shepherds were the, the Shepherds that the Angels showed

themselves to, you know, they they heard from the angel of the

Lord. And, and they shared, they They

quickly they were astonished. They were, they were amazed.

And what have saw? Yeah, it was, you know, it's

something that they don't see every day.

Yeah. It's very, you know, they have

to tell people about it. So that's exactly what they did.

And they shared to people who Jesus is, you know, the and also

the people who, what's amazing, the people whom the shepherd

went to, you know, those guys? Yes, exactly.

They were astonished. Also on what they have heard.

Yeah. They're they're like Vangelis

test. I mean I mean or Witnesses.

Yes just like in the last episode that we've mentioned

also they became like John yeah they bore witness to the light.

Amen. And also fortunately some people

you know where I'm amazed and you know it just brings a smile

to our faces that some of them responded with Well yes but of

course what we've learned today won't be complete without you

know, also sharing how we can apply it.

So the next question we should ask everyone.

If God is speaking to you through the scriptures, we just

read. How would you respond to him and

how will you apply it? You know me, I will, I like to

start off with, I will as so I will be like Joseph, who honors

Wife. Yeah and obeys God so message

challenging stuff. Yeah, it means sounds like an

everyday thing but it's we're not perfect but we do our best

to be God-fearing and family loving.

So this is my I will I would like to obey God.

That's the first of all obedience to God is key.

And then out of that, I will also I respect my wife, just

overall honor her. Yeah that's that's my I will.

Why would I give my trust and hope myself in Saving me through

this life to anyone else or to any other God In This World

been making appearances. Has some people, they claim to

be God. And and maybe a form of God is

not in the form of a human, another human being, but maybe I

desire. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Like, anything can anything that anyone prioritises more than God

is basically an idol? Yeah, and clear your video is

just basically saying that he doesn't want to be involved in

any of those, but only in Jesus, Yeah.

Actually, there's a lot of religion that tells you that

there's a lot of ways to be save a lot of ways or a lot of road

to salvation, but as we have read, it is said that Jesus, is

the only salvation is the way to life.

Yeah. Which are going to talk about.

Yeah, is the only salvation. So, that's why my I will is, I

would only trust him. I would only I I will trust and

put my faith in him alone. Uh-huh.

Yeah. I hope you will too.

Yes. If we, if we could combine both
