  1. Hello everyone. Good morning to all of you.

  2. Yes, we welcome you all to Sunday Live.

  3. And we hope you are blessed with today's worship.

  4. Now it's time to grab your Bibles and prepare our hearts to

  5. receive something from God's Word today, because we are going

  6. to resume in the series of discovering Christ.

  7. And for today's reading, please take note and open your Bibles

  8. on the following passages. The first one is Acts chapter

  9. one verses 4 to 11 and the second passage is in the book of

  10. John, chapter 14 verses one to three.

    John 14 chapter mention

  11. And for our last chapter, yes, it's found in Revelation chapter

    Revelation 22:12

  12. 22, verse 12, so you can all see them on the screen if you're

  13. watching the video. But if you're listening to our

  14. podcast, please check the show notes, because not only did we

  15. provide a PDF for you to use so you can follow along, but also

  16. the reading for today are hyperlinked.

  17. And in tapping or clicking on those, it will take you to the

  18. Bible app itself. And it's most convenient for you

  19. if you don't have a Bible, or if you just want to verify if it's

  20. really on the Bible. Yeah, true.

  21. So with that being said, let's start reading the first one,

  22. Acts chapter one, verses 4 to 11.

  23. On one occasion, while he Jesus was eating with them his

  24. disciples, he gave them this command.

  25. Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my father promised.

  26. Which? That you have heard me speak

  27. about for John baptized with water.

  28. But in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.

  29. Then they gathered around him and ask him, Lord, are you at

  30. this time going to restore the Kingdom to Israel?

  31. He said to them, It is not for you to know the times or dates

  32. the Father has set by his own authority.

  33. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you,

  34. and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and

  35. Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

  36. After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a

  37. cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up

  38. into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in

  39. white stood beside them. Men of Galilee, they said.

  40. Why do you stand here looking into this guy?

  41. This same Jesus who has been taken from you into heaven will

  42. come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.

  43. So that's it for our first verse.

  44. Now let's proceed to our second passage, which is in John 14

  45. verses 123. But before we read, let me just

  46. clarify first that this is Jesus speaking these words.

  47. So I'm going to begin. Do not let your hearts be

  48. troubled. You believe in God.

  49. Believe also in me. My father's house has many

  50. rooms. If that were not so, would I

  51. have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for

  52. you? And if I go and prepare a place

  53. for you, I will come back and take you to be with me, that you

  54. also may be where I am. So that's the second passage.

  55. And finally, the last one is from the Book of Revelation,

    Revelation 22:12

  56. chapter 22, verse 12. Look, I am coming soon.

  57. My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to

  58. what they have done. Wow.

  59. So I think we've read already all of the verses, the passages

  60. that we have assigned for today. Yes.

  61. And although we are aware that today's reading may be shorter

  62. than usual, I should say, but I believe we can still get

  63. something out of it that we can still discuss and apply in our

  64. everyday life. So, Speaking of discussion with

  65. what we've just read, it's time to take it all in and ask

  66. ourselves, what is today's reading teaching us about?

  67. Yes. And as always, you are free to

  68. read it again and again if necessary, which we always

  69. recommend. You can even pause if you need

  70. to. And then you can come back later

  71. as we now discuss what we've learned so far.

  72. Or what is the Bible teaching us today?

  73. Yeah, definitely. Now, well, maybe we need to talk

  74. about what do the three passages of Scripture scriptures talk

  75. about in common? So what do they all have?

  76. Well, they they all talk about Jesus.

  77. That's right. Well, yes, obviously.

  78. But aside from that, they talk about a lot of points.

  79. So we're going to discuss about that right now in Acts 1/7.

  80. In Acts chapter one, verse 7, Jesus himself is implying that

  81. it is not anyone's business to know everything.

  82. In fact, it shows that God is in control.

  83. Wow, they just said two points in one goal.

  84. But yes, I agree to those. It was interesting to me that

  85. the disciples wanted to know something for sure, but he said

  86. it is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has

  87. set by his own authority. Yes, this is basically telling

  88. them that. It does not matter for them to

  89. know that, but what they do need to know is that God is

  90. sovereign. Yes, he is sovereign indeed.

  91. But you know what matters to being witnesses of the Lord

  92. Jesus Christ, which is kind of like what we are doing right

  93. now. Yes, being the voice out there

  94. in the online podcast Virtual space telling the world about

  95. Jesus. Amen.

  96. And although it's it may be our voice.

  97. Voices that you might hear speaking, but in a discovery

  98. Bible study group, or in this case here in any of our

  99. discovering and discovering series, our objective is to make

  100. the Bible do the speaking to your hearts and as well as ours.

  101. Yes, yes, we really hope that we you are you are being blessed

  102. today with God's word. But we're not done yet, OK?

  103. Because I have another point to bring up.

  104. OK? So aside from just being his

  105. witnesses, his witnesses are also expected to be his

  106. witnesses in different phases. Yeah, Jerusalem and Judea,

  107. Samaria and all the ends of the earth.

  108. Yes, that's. What it said and I'll just maybe

  109. in connection to that I'll just make maybe make mention that

  110. different places it means. Different people groups.

  111. So basically it's being implied here that his witnesses in Jesus

  112. with Jesus, witnesses are expected to be spreaders of the

  113. gospel to everyone they can reach out.

  114. Couldn't agree more. And what is this gospel?

  115. Yes. So what is the gospel?

  116. It's just what we talk about now and in the previous Sundays,

  117. regarding who Jesus is and what he did for you and me.

  118. Yes, in fact it is our it is the very heart of why do we do have

  119. this kind of Ave. or platform. So you and I could discover

  120. something what God wants us to understand about Him together

  121. through His word. Amen.

  122. All right, moving on. We can read that he was taken up

  123. into heaven and leaving his disciples behind.

  124. Yeah, and while that might sound like on the surface, it's a sad

  125. thing, The good news about it is that Jesus will come back again.

  126. Yes, Amen to that. And according to the scriptures

  127. it says that he will come back the same way he went into

  128. heaven. So what does that mean?

  129. What does that mean? I think it means that he will no

  130. longer return as a baby, so we're very sorry for those who

  131. are expecting that. Sorry to break your

  132. expectations, but then we all have to take note that this is

  133. after, you know, this is after Jesus, which was who just raised

  134. from the dead. He was raised back to life,

  135. which we've talked about on the previous episode of Discovering

  136. Christ. So.

  137. Yes, he will no longer return as a baby in a Ranger, but he will

  138. return as a conqueror who defeated Death itself.

  139. That's right, and the one who promised salvation is indeed

  140. victorious. But I do believe we have a

  141. responsibility to that fact and that is.

  142. We must be, we must be right. That's right.

  143. Yes, because as the Bible says and as Jesus Christ himself

  144. said, because it's in red letters in the Bible code, my

  145. reward is with me and I will give it to each person according

  146. to what they have. Amen.

  147. And if you agree to that, friends, why don't you type Amen

  148. in the comments below? So what else can we learn from

  149. the scriptures today? How about you, love?

  150. Do you have something? I think I remember in Acts One

  151. that it also mentioned that the Holy Spirit, you know, Yeah,

  152. which is a hint of what our next series will be about.

  153. Yes, in a few weeks from now, right here.

  154. We will focus on the Holy Spirit later on, so please stick around

  155. and get excited for that. Yes, we we do know that it's

  156. important also to talk about the Holy Spirit.

  157. Yeah, Himself it's another separate.

  158. Subject yes. But that's a discussion for

  159. another day, so please stick around as she said, because we

  160. know that it's going to be very deep, but it's also going to be

  161. a blast. And there are many more that you

  162. can we can all learn from the scriptures that we just read,

  163. and we want to give chance for you to have your own answers.

  164. So please, why don't you gather up your thoughts about what

  165. we've just read? Yes, and we want to encourage

  166. you. If it's something that we've

  167. already mentioned and you might want to add to it, or if you

  168. have a revelation in your heart that maybe we haven't even

  169. mentioned, why don't you write that down in the at the comments

  170. below and let's reflect for a bit.

  171. How can we apply these in our everyday life and as we continue

  172. on the segment where we will mention some few Jesus is today.

  173. So what do you think Jesus is being portrayed as in the

  174. scriptures we've read recently? I'll start and that is Jesus is

  175. a rewarder and that's based on Revelation 22, verse 12.

    Revelation 22:12

  176. I think that's a good thought to think about.

  177. And it's not just, it's not just a thought, it's a fact.

  178. So, and it's very comforting. So how about you though, Do you

  179. have anything? Do you have something indeed?

  180. Of course, for me, Jesus is inviting his followers to put

  181. our trust in God, and we can see that according to the response

  182. of Christ in Acts chapter one, verse 7.

  183. Yes, I have something. Jesus is coming back again.

  184. Yes, we should definitely look forward to that.

  185. And and prepare. All right.

  186. I think it's your turn. Yes, again my turn.

  187. I think for me, Jesus is wanting us to believe in him.

  188. Yeah. And John chapter 14 verse one it

    John 14 chapter mention

  189. says there that believe in God believe also in me.

  190. So I just want to ask you, what about you, friends?

  191. Comment down below your answer to who Jesus is in the text

  192. we've just discussed. And as we go on to the next

  193. segment of this episode, why don't you be not only a

  194. spectator but also a participator by letting us know

  195. in the comments below or on the prompt for this episode if you

  196. are listening on Spotify, if God is speaking to you today through

  197. the scriptures we just read, how would you respond to Him?

  198. And as usual in this part of the episode we can answer starting

  199. by with the phrase I will. So to start off, who would like

  200. to start? OK, I'll start.

  201. All right. All right, my I will is I will

  202. put my trust in Jesus, even if things in life aren't exactly

  203. going my way. So I'll just have to remember

  204. that. Wow, that's neat.

  205. Yeah. But and also a good response.

  206. Thank you for me it's My answer is that I will strive my best to

  207. be a witness of the gospel to where I am able to go, and that

  208. includes the virtual space. Yeah, social media.

  209. Yes, we have a lot of social media platforms.

  210. And we have a lot of opportunities.

  211. That's right. Wherever we are.

  212. We are the missionaries there. Yes.

  213. So because I know that he is where the reward is and that,

  214. and that's because he is my reward, how about you, friends?

  215. Hey man, what is your response to God's Word today?

  216. And we hope that and pray that you will apply this, yeah.

  217. Not only for today as you hear this, but that throughout your

  218. life we're in this together. So I we hope and pray that you

  219. will choose to make that decision to say, Lord Jesus, I

  220. believe in you. Wow.

  221. And. That whatever you have learned

  222. here will not just stay here, but also you will be a witness

  223. by spreading the message of the gospel to people.

  224. And you know what? You can definitely do that.

  225. You can definitely do your part in helping do just that by

  226. clicking the share button to wherever you are listening to

  227. this from and that you and that not only you will keep the

  228. revelation to yourself but also. Share it with others.

  229. Right. So let me ask you, who will you

  230. share what you learned today? So friends, whoever they are,

  231. don't wait any longer. Yeah.

  232. Share to them what you've learned today.

  233. Yeah. And we're going to leave that to

  234. you. Yeah, we hope that you will do

  235. your part in blessing and spreading the word of God.

  236. Even it means even if it means in social media.

  237. That's right, we'll never know who would be stumbled across

  238. this video and. And maybe even your own

  239. testimony, your own learnings in the comments.

  240. People will see it, and then they will, they will receive it

  241. as the as the Rema word. Because you never know who to

  242. who. God will speak to His Word and

  243. to what you've learned. That's right.

  244. And we really encourage your participation in this activity

  245. or in this session right now so that we would reach out more

  246. people. And Speaking of exposure, we

  247. are, we are expected to be His witnesses.

  248. Yeah, more engagement means more exposure.

  249. Who wants to just do do our very own parts in spreading the

  250. gospel everywhere. All right, friends, will not

  251. hold you any longer. Thank you so much for joining us

  252. for today. We hope that your faith is

  253. stirred up. Yes, just like it did to ours.

  254. Yes, we we are encouraged as well as we read alongside you

  255. guys. Stay with us and be blessed.

  256. Bye everyone.
