  1. Hello everyone and we would like to welcome you to Sunday Live.

  2. So here with me. Yes, it's Kuya Vidal.

  3. He's very, he's shy. Kind of.

  4. I'm just kidding. Here is Kuya Vidal and my name

  5. is John Valdez. So, yes, thank you.

  6. For taking time to join us to read through God's Word today.

  7. Previously we have read about the Ascension and the hinted

  8. return of Jesus. Last week, yes.

  9. And we couldn't be more excited than today.

  10. Oh, yes, because. What we are going to read in the

  11. Bible is the truth about eternal life.

  12. Yes, I think that's something. And and to you know what the

  13. title of this very episode already suggests, as you can

  14. already see, probably it is about the how to solve eternal

  15. life according to our Lord Jesus Christ.

  16. So this is episode one, which leans on to saving faith.

  17. Amen. So I hope.

  18. Your Bibles are, and your notes are with you, are ready with

  19. you, because we are ready to give you the scriptures that we

  20. are about to read, yes, which are all going to be from the

  21. book of John From John. So here are the chapters and the

  22. verses chapter 14, verse six, chapter 5, verse 24, chapter 3,

  23. verse one to seven and chapter 3 from verses 16 to 18.

  24. Chapter 3, verses 35 and 36. And the last one is chapter one

  25. from verses 10 to 13. Yes, that's right.

  26. So all are available in the show notes if you just missed that,

  27. or in the video if you're watching this.

  28. So feel free to also prepare your Bibles if you want with

  29. your preferred translation or versions.

  30. So Are you ready to discover more about Christ today?

  31. Of course we sure are. I think we are all ready.

  32. We won't. Delay any further.

  33. Now let's read. The first one is John 14.

  34. Six. Jesus answered, I am the way and

  35. the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father

  36. except through. Me next is John 524 Very truly I

  37. tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has

  38. eternal life and will not be judged, but has crossed over

  39. from from death. To life, yes.

  40. So next John three chapter one to verse 8.

  41. Okay. So now there was a farisy a man

  42. named Nicodemos who was a member of the Jewish ruling council.

  43. He came to Jesus at night and said, Rabbi, we know that you

  44. are a teacher who has come from God, for no one could perform

  45. the signs you are doing if God were not with him.

  46. Jesus replied. Very truly I tell you, no one

  47. can see the Kingdom of God unless they are born again.

  48. So Nicodemus said, How can someone be born when they are

  49. old? Nicodemus asked.

  50. Yeah, surely they cannot enter a second time to their mother's

  51. room to be born, Jesus answered. Very truly, I tell you, no one

  52. can enter the Kingdom of God unless they are born of water

  53. and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but

  54. the Spirit gives birth the Spirit.

  55. So you should not be surprised at my saying you must be born

  56. again. The wind blows wherever it

  57. pleases. You hear it sound, but you

  58. cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going.

  59. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.

  60. Next verse is John 316 to 18 for God soul of the world, that he

  61. gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall

  62. not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send

  63. his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save

  64. the world through him. Yes, whoever believes in him is

  65. not condemned. But whoever does not believe

  66. stands condemned already. Yeah, because they have not

  67. believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

  68. So next John chapter 3 verses 35 to 36.

    John 3:35–36

  69. The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands.

  70. Whoever believes in the sun has eternal life, but whoever

  71. rejects the sun will not see life, for God's wrath remains on

  72. them. Yes, And now the last passage of

  73. Scripture. It's John 1 to 10.

  74. Versus until until 13, yes. So he was in the world, and the

  75. world was with was made through him.

  76. Yet the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own

  77. people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him,

  78. who believe in his name, he gave the right to become children of

  79. God. Amen.

  80. Who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of

  81. the will of man, but of God. So that's it for our scripture

  82. reading time. And now it's time for us to have

  83. some time to discuss regarding what does these passages of

  84. Scripture teach us about? Yeah, teach us about.

  85. Exactly. That's right.

  86. So here we are. We're going to discuss.

  87. First, I'd like to start off with this.

  88. It already established by the Bible that Jesus is not an

  89. option. To have eternal life, yes, but

  90. that he is the only way to heaven.

  91. Which we hope it's very obvious as we are all reading this

  92. together. The Scriptures, and you can

  93. probably also tell that we're not even making that up because

  94. it already is in the Bible. We just read about it.

  95. And who do you think said those very words?

  96. Capital. It's.

  97. Jesus himself. Yes, Jesus Christ, the Savior

  98. said those very words, the way, the truth, and the life himself.

  99. Yes, the it's it's in red letters, right?

  100. Yeah. If some of you who own a Bible

  101. who has red letters, that means Jesus himself said that.

  102. And it also implies that access in heaven is made possible only

  103. through Him through Jesus Christ.

  104. Meaning it's not through anything or anyone else other

  105. than. Jesus, yeah.

  106. And I think it's most important to put some emphasis.

  107. Yes, we want to emphasize that because it is one of the most

  108. known Bible verses that point out to the very essentials of

  109. the Christian faith. Yes, but it is also something

  110. else. And we're going to talk about

  111. that a little bit deeper. Uh huh.

  112. Today in that same subject. So Jesus is the only way that

  113. means there is no other in no. In no way the Bible point to

  114. religious sex or any community in order to obtain eternal life.

  115. Yeah, not all. In fact, if anything, the Bible

  116. is against anything that man claims to be the answer to or

  117. the alternate to eternal life and salvation.

  118. And we are all aware that many people are already, you know.

  119. If if you would ask people, are you safe?

  120. Yes, I go to church. The answer, But it's not really

  121. the right answer for it. Yeah, in no way the Bible, you

  122. know, point to anything else other than Jesus.

  123. Yes, it only puts the spotlight on Jesus alone because he is the

  124. very sole answer to that very concern, salvation.

  125. So do you agree with that? Amen.

  126. Yeah, we can all read that, obviously.

  127. Also, I want to point out something that eternal life will

  128. require obedience to Jesus and faith in God.

  129. Yes, so, so that's very true and it that is based on John 5/24.

  130. Yeah, we have. We have to do our part, yeah.

  131. Yeah. We believe and obey also we

  132. obey, which I have. I have something to say about

  133. that. Also that the eternal life

  134. mentioned here may not be the life that we are currently

  135. experiencing at this very moment, if in fact this life is,

  136. you know, human. We're still immortals, we're

  137. still flesh. So that's that's not the eternal

  138. life. But what do you think that is

  139. portraying? Yeah.

  140. Yes, eternal life that was mentioned in John 5 is a life

  141. that we are going to experience someday, yes.

  142. In the afterlife? Oh yes, exactly.

  143. Also mentioned that to those who do obey the teachings of Jesus

  144. and to those who believe in God will not be judged.

  145. Yes, this talks about being judged because of sin, because

  146. as we already talked about in the previous topics we had, we

  147. are. All sinful beings, yeah, since

  148. from the very beginning we know how God hates sin, but it is

  149. because of Jesus, and only through him that we can escape

  150. judgment or eternal death. So if there is an eternal life,

  151. there is. There's also eternal death.

  152. Oh yes, I have. No in between, Yes.

  153. There is no in between. Nowhere.

  154. The Bible, you know, yeah, tells that.

  155. And we can all see why the scriptures point to Jesus this

  156. very way. They put emphasis on that.

  157. It's also a good that one of our readings today is John 316.

  158. Yeah, which most of you, if not all, are probably already aware

  159. of. But it is a very well known

  160. scripture for a very good reason.

  161. You know why? Because John 316 is the most

  162. popular verse of the Bible. Because it's it's simply

  163. presents the gospel in an very oversimplified way.

  164. Yes, and in that verse. Yeah, imagine that in one verse

  165. the gospel is already explained in a nutshell, so it already

  166. speaks for itself. The action word believe is

  167. emphasized all over again. We can all see with our very own

  168. eyes that the Bible is showing the importance of believing in

  169. Christ. So it's faith, and it is the

  170. only way to get eternal life, to have faith only in Jesus Christ

  171. alone. But however, there is also the

  172. bad news, as we already read in some of the verses we've read

  173. recently. And the bad news applies to

  174. those who will turn away with with knowing this truth.

  175. They and reject what the Bible says by not believing.

  176. So the opposite of believing is not believing.

  177. And unfortunately, you know God's wrath remain on them To

  178. those who do not believe because you know why the forgiveness of

  179. sins then? This is taught by the Bible very

  180. clearly. Amen.

  181. Forgiveness of sins is only made possible through Jesus Christ.

  182. So I hope by that we will all make that decision to be here.

  183. Yeah, or maybe at least give it some thought and be open to

  184. receive the truth. The Bible is speaking to us.

  185. Yes. Amen.

  186. It's also amazing, actually. That in John 3 Jesus already

  187. performed supernatural science, which proves all the more that

  188. he is God. That's right.

  189. And the attention of a certain Pharisee named Ecodemus was

  190. caught there in John Three. We can all see that.

  191. And you have to remember that the Pharisees in the Bible in

  192. general, as we have read before in the previous episodes, these

  193. were the same people that were against Jesus and everything he

  194. preached about. They were the haters of the of

  195. that time. But Nicodemus decided to check

  196. out Jesus for himself, so he went at night so no one can see

  197. him and met him in person. And Jesus gave him something

  198. worthy to think about, and that is being born again.

  199. Yeah, being born again. So it's not a religion.

  200. Yeah, it is not a. Religion in the Bible.

  201. We have read it earlier, yes. As to how most people would

  202. probably understand, yes. But it is the state of being

  203. found in Jesus. Yes, according to the Bible, As

  204. we said earlier, being born again is mandatory in order to

  205. get to heaven. Yes, it's basically a

  206. requirement prerequisite. You can't go to heaven if you're

  207. not born again. Yeah, without being born again.

  208. Yeah, okay. And with this truth, in the last

  209. verses that we can read, some people will respond by believing

  210. and receiving Jesus, you know, like Nicodemus did.

  211. But unfortunately, some people are not.

  212. Expected to do the same. In fact, they will reject him

  213. some. It's very sad also that some are

  214. already living a life that shows their rejection to the Lordship

  215. of Christ. Yeah, but to those who will make

  216. that decision to respond by receiving Him are part of God's

  217. family. Yeah.

  218. Are born of water and spirit. Yes, those who respond will be

  219. given the right to be God's children.

  220. Amen. And that's something we we

  221. probably took our time to discuss.

  222. What did we learn with the scriptures that we just read?

  223. But we're in this together, so we want to hear from you too,

  224. and give you a chance. So what are your thoughts about

  225. all of the passage of scriptures we read?

  226. Please let us know your thoughts by typing it in the comments

  227. below and join in. Don't miss out.

  228. Yes, we're excited to know your comments exactly.

  229. Right now. Let's proceed to the next

  230. question we'll ask ourselves. If God is speaking to you

  231. through the scriptures we just read, how would you respond to

  232. Him? So I'll go first.

  233. I'll. Go first for me.

  234. I will take up my identity in God, and that is and that I am

  235. his child because I believe, Wow, I will.

  236. I think it's my turn now. Okay so.

  237. That's a good take, John. Thank you.

  238. As for me, I will proclaim that Jesus is the only way to

  239. salvation so that people can be born again if they respond.

  240. And friends, what is the response you want to do for God

  241. today or for this week rather? You know, whatever it is, I do

  242. believe that everything we've just talked about today, it all

  243. points to One Direction. And what do you think that is?

  244. Yeah, and that the only answer to have eternal life with God in

  245. heaven is only through Jesus Christ.

  246. And our prayer is that you would make that decision to believe in

  247. Him and to obey what God's word is teaching us today.

  248. So whom will you share what you've learned this week?

  249. So I do believe we do all believe that this topic is worth

  250. talking about. So why don't you share what

  251. you've learned, your family or friends, whoever they are, and

  252. don't let them miss out on what the voice of God through the

  253. Bible is speaking in our very hearts based on our reading.

  254. Reading Yes, about eternal life. Yes, and Amen.

  255. Thank you for joining us and that we hope you will join us

  256. again next week.
