  1. You're listening to a message to go from X Church. We hope this message

  2. will light up your day. What do you see on the screen? Keys?

  3. Okay, very good? How many of you carry keys with you in

  4. this modern day and age? No, okay, you still do? Uh?

  5. Okay, all right, all right? So nowadays, you know,

  6. some of you still have these old fashioned keys, some have newer fashion keys.

  7. But whatever it is, we still need keys in our lives. Right.

  8. Keys keep us safe. Yeah, we can knock the door so that

  9. danger doesn't come near us. Keys also provides for us because we can open

  10. the door into you know, just a space of provision for us. Right,

  11. okay, So, how many of you remember the theme for X Church

  12. this year that God has gave us heaven, Heaven, Heaven. Amen,

  13. And that's just half of it. Amen to the finishing line. That's right.

  14. So for those of you who are new with us here in the next

  15. Church this year, the theme that God has given us is called Heaven Rules.

  16. Towards the finishing line, all right, And so today I'm going to

  17. continue speaking in line with the theme Heaven Rules. Now, previously I had

  18. actually shared different messages that are like different keys to unlocking the rule of Heaven

  19. in our lives. So I spoke about humility as one of the keys.

  20. Remember my lame joke. What was Moses's favorite tea to drink? Humility because

  21. he was the humblest man on earth? Yeah? Okay. I also spoke

  22. about worship as another key to unlock the rule of heaven in our lives.

  23. Right. I remember I show you the Hebrew word of make a joyful noise.

  24. It's like a man that's opening up his mouth and arms towards Heaven.

  25. And when we do that, the spirit of God opens over us as well.

  26. Right, And so today I'm going to share with us another key towards

  27. unlocking the rule of Heaven in our lives. Now, irregardless of what we

  28. do, Heaven still rules, you get me. Heaven still rules because Heaven

  29. is still God is still almighty. But we want to invite his presence and

  30. power and promises and purposes into our lives personally. We want Heaven even in

  31. our personal lives, and that's what we want to unlock, all right,

  32. But irregardless whatever happens, Heaven will still rule. Amen. Okay. So

  33. another key that I'm going to be talking about today is the key of obedience.

  34. All right, And so today the title of God's word for us is

  35. Heaven rules when we obey. Right, I want you to turn to your

  36. neighbor and say, Heaven rules when we obey. Okay, all right,

  37. let's unpack this together now. When God first made heaven and earth, when

  38. God first made all the animals, and finally us we are we are away

  39. beyond animals are by the way. Okay, when God first made the universe

  40. and the world as we know it to be, Heaven ruled on Earth.

  41. Did you know that? Did you know that actually once before, Heaven actually

  42. ruled on earth. It's not just a nice fancy saying Heaven on earth,

  43. but Heaven actually ruled on Earth before. Okay. Let's go back to the

  44. book of Genesis. All right, So when God created the world, there

  45. were at least four ways that heaven't ruled on Earth. I'm going to show

  46. you four points, okay. The first point was when God created the world,

  47. Heaven ruled on Earth because men lived in or with God's presence closely.

  48. So when God first made the earth and he made Adam and Eve, God

  49. actually walked in the Garden of Eden together with them. That's heaven on earth

  50. when there is no separation between God's presence and us. All right, And

  51. how do we know that. Let's look at Genesis chapter three, verse eight,

  52. the first part. So the Word of God says, and they heard

  53. the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the

  54. day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord

  55. God among the trees of the garden. So this verse tells us that initially

  56. God walked together with men. All right. So that's an evidence of Heaven

  57. on earth. Okay. Now, the second point on how Heaven wrote on

  58. earth at the beginning of creation was man had continuous provision of his day alien

  59. needs from the garden. Wow. It's almost like having your fridge always full

  60. with groceries. How many of you would like that? Wow? You don't

  61. need to go, you know, and buy groceries. Whenever you open your

  62. fridge, right, it's always fully groceries, and not just fully groceries,

  63. is full with your favorite groceries. It's a self replenishing fridge. Wow.

  64. Every time you open right, Wow, it's full. Not only full,

  65. but it can read your mind or read your stomach. What do you feel

  66. like eating today? And sally, Wow, that food will just magically appeared

  67. in your fridge. Yeah. Better still, that food is already cooked.

  68. You just have to heat it them in a microwave. Ah. Best.

  69. I also wanted that kind of ridge, doctor Sheila new fridger. Yeah,

  70. because doctor Sheila and yourhan just got a new fridge. Yeah, but that

  71. not that kind of fridge. Lah, not yet, not yet lah.

  72. Yeah, whoever who stumbles across that kind of fridge tell me I also wanted

  73. to buy. Okay, but imagine that. You know, Adam and Eve

  74. had a fridge that you know, he was self replenishing with their favorite food,

  75. and he was just ready to be heated up and eaten. That was

  76. the garden of Eden. You know. Yes, God told him to take

  77. care, but you know they didn't need too much effort to take care.

  78. They didn't have the toil and to strive in taking care of the garden.

  79. Yeah. And so let's look at Genesis chapter two, verse sixteen, and

  80. the Lord God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden

  81. you may freely eat. Wow. So they were living in continuous, almost

  82. quite effortless provision of their daily needs. That's heaven on earth. When you

  83. get to heaven, you don't need to work for your provision. It's eternally

  84. provided already. That's heaven on earth. Right. Hey, let's see now,

  85. when God first made the world, Heaven ruled on earth because man did

  86. not know pain. Pain is probably the worst faur letter word that we can

  87. ever know, whether it's physical or emotional pain. But love is the greatest

  88. four letter word that we can ever know. That countess and heals and restores

  89. the worst four letter word pain. Love is the antidote to pain. And

  90. so at the beginning, man did not know pain. How do we know?

  91. Let's look at Genesis chapter three, verse sixteen to seventeen. Now,

  92. this verse happened after Adam and Eve sinned, after they didn't listen to God.

  93. So this tells us what happened after they disobeyed, But it also tells

  94. us what happened before they disobeyed. Okay, so after they disobeyed, God

  95. says to the woman Eve in pain, you shall bring forth children, and

  96. I will greatly multiply your sorrow. So after the fall of Man, humans

  97. started to experience physical pain, humans started to experience emotional pain. Which tells

  98. us before the fall, there was no pain. There was no physical pain,

  99. there was no emotional pain. Okay, Then we look at the next

  100. verse, and to the men Adam, God said, in toil, you

  101. shall eat of it curses the ground for your sake. So that's suffering,

  102. the striving without the guarantee of success. And so we see from these two

  103. verses that at the beginning, when God made the world, man did not

  104. know pain. But after man disobeyed, then that's where pain started to come

  105. into our lives. Okay, all right, Now let's look at the next

  106. point. So when God created the world, heaven rode on earth, because

  107. point before, man was healthy and could live forever. Hey, let's look

  108. at Janessis chapter three, verse twenty two. Then the Lord God said,

  109. behold, the man has become like one of us to know good and evil.

  110. And now lest he put his hand and take also of the tree of

  111. life and eat and live forever. So actually, in the garden of Eden,

  112. remember God saying you can eat of every tree except that one tree which

  113. will come to in a wild, the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

  114. But it means that actually Adam and Eve could have also eaten of the

  115. Tree of life, and when they eat of the Tree of life, they

  116. will live forever. So actually, man was meant to live forever. Man

  117. was not meant to fall sick and die. Man was actually meant to be

  118. healthy and live forever with God here on Earth. So can you see from

  119. just even these four points at least that when God first made the earth,

  120. heaven't rolled on earth. When God first made the world, man lived closely

  121. with God. Can even take evening walk together in the garden with God?

  122. How many of you here love evening walks? Yeah? Yeah, I like

  123. it too. Imagine if you could take evening walks around your thumb and with

  124. God. Wow, super cool. Right, that's what happened at the beginning.

  125. And then man had continuous provision of his daily needs. Think of that

  126. self replenishing fridge in your kitchen. Man did not know pain. There was

  127. no physical pain, no emotional pain to begin with, and man was healthy

  128. and could live forever. These are evidences that haven't rolled on earth at the

  129. beginning. When God first made the world. Okay, and you know what,

  130. there was only one condition for Heaven to continue rolling on Earth. What

  131. was that condition? It's found in Genesis chapter two, verse sixteen seventeen.

  132. Sorry, Yes, this was the one condition to keep Heaven ruling on earth

  133. and for men to enjoy all the benefits that I mentioned just now. It's

  134. found in Genesis chapter two, verse sixteen to seventeen, and the Lord God

  135. commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden you may freely

  136. eat, But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil you shall not

  137. eat, for in the day that you eat of it, you shall surely

  138. die. And this death is not just a physical death, but it's a

  139. spiritual death where there's separation from God. Yeah. So this was the only

  140. condition for Heaven to continue to rule on earth, that man should obey God's

  141. command. Easy or difficult? This condition? I mean, when we look

  142. back, we say maybe easy, lah, right, Yeah, you know,

  143. why did Adam and Eve have to disobey such an easy thing? Also

  144. cannot do. But maybe if we were in that situation, maybe it's not

  145. so easy. Yeah. Yeah. I remember a minister came to church before

  146. and during our marriage and Richmond session called Tea for two. He was telling

  147. couples, do not judge yesterday's decision based on today's wisdom. Do not judge

  148. the choices that you make in the past based on your maturity today. It's

  149. easy when we look back, oh, you know, to blame ourselves,

  150. to blame others. Hey, why couldn't you have known better or done better?

  151. But truth is, when you were in that situation, probably wasn't so

  152. easy. There are a lot of factors to consider. Okay, So looking

  153. back yeah easy? I mean even myself, are you Sometimes right, I

  154. get really frustrated with life and I start blaming Adam and Eve. I know

  155. why you did a million summers ago? Why did you have to do it?

  156. You know? But honestly, if we were in that situation, maybe

  157. we could have done the same or worse. Okay, So now mind enough

  158. of the blame game. Stop looking back, look forward. Okay, blame

  159. game is done. Blame game is the enemy's game. Okay. God's game

  160. is forgiveness, grace and mercy. Move forward, right? Yeah? So

  161. that okay? So this was God's command and we know in Genesis chapter three,

  162. verse one to seven. I probably won't read true the whole chapter,

  163. all right, but just a paraphrase, the enemy came and deceived Adam and

  164. Eve, and in the end day ate the fruit of the tree that they're

  165. not supposed to eat, and that's where sin entered the world. Sin is

  166. actually not just doing something wrong. You know, growing up we always think,

  167. oh, sin means we do something wrong, we lie, we still,

  168. we kill. You know, the world define sin as doing something wrong

  169. or being evil. But sin is so much more than just doing something wrong

  170. or being evil. Sin is basically disobeying God. When we obey God,

  171. it is righteousness, the right thing to do, and when we disobey God,

  172. it is sin, the wrong thing to do. Right, Okay,

  173. So next line, Yeah, so what happened when men disobey God in the

  174. garden of Eden? Men became separated from the presence of God. Man no

  175. longer had that magic freat Man had to work and toil and strive for his

  176. daily provision. Men started to experience pain physically emotionally. Men became sick and

  177. would definitely die one day. Can you see that because of man's disobedience,

  178. Heaven stopped ruling on Earth, and that's why we experience what we know as

  179. life today. All right, now, let's move on to the next light.

  180. So while this obedience stopped Heaven's rule on Earth, christ obedience unlocked Heaven's

  181. rule on earth again, while Adam and Eve's decision close the door to Heaven's

  182. rule on earth. Christ's obedience to the point of death open Heaven's rule on

  183. earth again. And when we believe in Jesus Christ and follow him, we

  184. also share in the open door as well. But we need to believe,

  185. and not just believe believing. It's not just enough. We need to follow.

  186. We need to follow Christ. Many people can believe from a distance,

  187. but lesser follow closely. And what Jesus is after is not after believer us.

  188. He's after disciples follow us. Another word for disciples is fall lowers.

  189. In Matthew twenty eight, Jesus' final words, the Great Commission says, go

  190. and make disciples, Go and make followers of all the nations. Jesus didn't

  191. say go and make converts. Jesus didn't say go and make believers. Jesuss

  192. make followers. Right. And so when we believe and we follow closely,

  193. we also get to share in the open door that Christ has gained for us

  194. for Heaven's rule in our life. Amen. Now let's look at Romans chapter

  195. five, verse nineteen. This verse sums it up perfectly, Paul writes.

  196. For as by one man's disobedience, that's Adam, many were made sinners.

  197. So also by one man's obedience Jesus Christ, also known as the Second Adam,

  198. many will be made righteous. So Adam closed the door to Heaven's rule

  199. on earth. But Jesus opened that door again and keeps it open for all

  200. who are willing to believe and follow him. All right, Okay, now

  201. we move on to the next point. So to experience Heaven's rule over our

  202. lives, we first need to live in obedience to God's word. But before

  203. we can obey, we have to first know what is the word of God

  204. true or not. I mean, like, if I ask you today to

  205. go to Timbakto, you may say yes, but you first need to know

  206. how to get to Timbakto. So you can take out your phone and your

  207. GPS and starch searching Timbakto. Okay, how to get there by land,

  208. by sea, by air. You need direction before you can go somewhere,

  209. before you can follow. Same thing. Now, okay, we know that

  210. to see heaven rule in our life, we got to obey God. But

  211. how can we obey if we don't even know what to obey, right,

  212. So we first got to know the direction, which is God's word. And

  213. God's word can come in two forms, all right. His word can come

  214. in the written word, which is our Bibles. That's why it's so important

  215. to do our quiet time, to come to church, to go for extra

  216. teaching trainings, do extra reading. You've got to know the written word of

  217. God before you can obey. You can't be obeying, you know, like

  218. blank air or blindly. You've got to know the word of God what to

  219. obey. The word of God is your direction, your compass. Okay,

  220. And I believe at the recent homes. That's why we spoke about quiet time.

  221. Yeah, how many of you are blessed by the recent homes? Yeah?

  222. Quiet time? All right? So here in acts church, besides meeting

  223. on Sundays, we also have small groups that happened during the week days and

  224. we call them homes. And homes is basically a smaller family where you get

  225. to you know, know each other better and also to know God better,

  226. do life together, grow your faith. And so if you're new here and

  227. you want to, you know, find out more about homes, you can

  228. speak to me or any one of our leaders with a brooch with the tag

  229. yeah tie, or even our hosts, and will help you to get connected

  230. to a small group called homes because that's really the heartbeat of church. Only

  231. so much can be done by coming together in a big group, but where

  232. real life happens is in the smaller groups. Just like our human bodies.

  233. You see me, oh, my whole bodies like functioning very well, but

  234. it's actually the cells that make my body function well. So homes, it's

  235. like the cells in God's body. That's where real life happens. That's where

  236. you really get to know each other at a closer level. You know,

  237. you are there with each other in the up and down days, and that's

  238. where you get to know God better together as well. Okay, all right

  239. now. So besides, so God's word can come in two forms, his

  240. written word and also he spoken word. So he spoken word is the leading

  241. of the Holy Spirit in our lives, and that's something that we want to

  242. continue to practice listening as well. When we become saved, God speaks to

  243. us not just through his written word the Bible, but he speaks to us

  244. through his voice, the leading of the Holy Spirit. And I think not

  245. so many people hear the audible voice of God like a loud, deep,

  246. audible voice of God. Some people have heard, but from from from my

  247. life experience, more people tend to hear the voice of God as all small

  248. voice or prompting in your heart. It's that you sense something many times that's

  249. God's speaking. You send something like even if like I'm speaking now, and

  250. you send something in your heart which you can't quite explain, that could be

  251. God's speaking. So practice practice identifying God's voice in your life. How God

  252. speaks to us is very different from person to person. All right, Some

  253. people God speaks to them like how I mentioned that prompting that sense in your

  254. heart that you can't quite explain and put a finger around, but it's like

  255. nothing you've ever known could be God. Some people God speaks true words like

  256. suddenly you just in your mind you see a word or a phrase dropped in

  257. you don't know from where. That could be God. Some people he speaks

  258. true a MAJORI. Yeah. You suddenly get a vision of you know,

  259. like a river flowing and you're like wondering, where did it come from?

  260. It could be God? Yeah, And sometimes God use different ways to speak

  261. to you at different points of your life. Yeah, and so what's important

  262. is to recognize God's spoken word in your life. How does God speak to

  263. you? Like I remember, um, I think maybe two months ago,

  264. one or two months ago. It was a very hectic season for my life.

  265. And funnily like, when I went to the Tuman the park near my

  266. house is the KK Lake Park with my family, Suddenly when I look up

  267. to the sky, I see an eagle flying. And then I'm not asking

  268. my family did you see that? Like was that an eagle? Was it

  269. a crow? You know? So? And yeah, because my area got

  270. a lot of cross law, right, but eagle very hard to find,

  271. right, And so secretly in my heart I was like, oh God,

  272. if only I could look at that bird again and see whether there was really

  273. an eagle or a crow. Right. And then God made the bird fly

  274. back to us and this circle around us, and I caught it on video

  275. for sure It's an eagle for sure, not a crow. Okay. So

  276. then after that, and then after that, like just like a week later,

  277. in my workplace, as I look out of the window, I sunly

  278. see an eagle flying outside again, I'm like, Okay, that's weird the

  279. second time, I'm saying an eagle in just a short span of time.

  280. And I remember another day as I was walking, also in my workplace,

  281. but a different part of the building, I looked out and I saw an

  282. eagle. So three times at least an eagle appeared in my sight, and

  283. I just felt God speaking to me that he will renew my strength like an

  284. eagle, but I need to continue to seek him and wait upon him.

  285. And the eagle also represents God who will take care of us as it's young.

  286. So that was one way that God spoke to me true nature to the

  287. appearance of eagles, which is quite rare in our country. I don't know,

  288. maybe does your area have a lot of eagles your country? Does he

  289. have a lot of eagles. I mean, it's quite rare enough to see

  290. an eagle. So each time I see an eagle, I believe definitely is

  291. a God thing. Cross are normal, all right, Yes, my area

  292. got like one thousand crows and maybe one eagle. Okay, so to see

  293. the cross is a normal everyday thing. But to see an eagle, Wow,

  294. I think it's really God. And so just pay attention, you know,

  295. don't be so busy on your phones. Oh oh, look at the

  296. world around I'm not pointed to anyone here. Please continue to use your phone.

  297. I saw saw you put your phone down, and I said that.

  298. No, no, no, no no, I'm saying when you go to

  299. life, don't be so busy on your phone. Sometimes you need to just

  300. look around at the world around you, because God is trying to catch your

  301. attention and speak to you. And he's not a boring god. He will

  302. use all of creativity to catch your attention, like he did for me.

  303. If I was busy on my phone, I probably wouldn't have caught the eagle

  304. in the park or at my workplace or at my workplace. But somehow,

  305. by God's grace, I was just able to look around and that caught my

  306. eye. Okay, So God is always speaking. God is always trying to

  307. catch our attention, not in boring ways, but in creative fresh race.

  308. So keep a lookout, friends, keep a lookout. Okay, All right,

  309. now, let's move forward. Okay. Obedience is a constant choice simply

  310. because we have free will. Some days, I wish God, why can't

  311. it be automatic for me to just obey you? I wish, I wish

  312. it was automatic easier. Yo. I feel every single day of life it's

  313. a fresh choice all over again to choose God. And sometimes I get frustrated

  314. because I'm like, God, I really known you for so many years.

  315. Can't it feel a bit easier today to choose you? Why does it still

  316. feel tough to choose you? But that's because we have a free will.

  317. So every day it's a fresh journey and a fresh battle to choose God.

  318. But it's worth it. It's worth it, okay. And you know we

  319. can't do it alone. We need the Holy Spirit. There is no way

  320. that we can ever choose to follow God in our own strength. We will

  321. fail and fall short, fall no way. We need the Holy Spirit.

  322. And thank God He's given us the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is the power

  323. of God in our lives. Holy Spirit, the Greek work of Holy Spirit

  324. is douna miss dona miss power of God. And so thank God that He's

  325. given us his grace, his power to obey. So every day ask the

  326. Holy Spirit, give me fresh strength, give me fresh power to obey God.

  327. Honestly it's tough, but Holy Spirit, every day, give me fresh

  328. power to obey God. Can one can be done? Okay, on our

  329. own cannot with Holy Spirit can? All right? Now? Okay, let's

  330. so. In John chapter nine, verse one to seven, Okay, it

  331. talks about a blind man who was blind from birth. How many of you

  332. here have experienced blindness at some point in your life? Anyone? Anyone?

  333. No? Like sometimes temporary blindness. Yeah. I have experienced sort of like

  334. temporary partial blindness in one of my eyes before. I remember it was the

  335. week before my wedding, and I went for facial as advised by you know,

  336. different ones. No Love did not blind me. Okay, no,

  337. no, no, no, no, Love did not blind me. Love

  338. opened my eyes. Okay. So I remember one week before my wedding,

  339. Hu, I went for facial and then as part of facial we had to

  340. do scrubs. I mean the lady would do like a facial scrub for my

  341. face to get rid of the dead skin cells. Then after that put a

  342. mask and put whatever at the lotion, massage, massage and so on.

  343. That day, somehow the grain from my fracial scrub fell into one of my

  344. eyes. And so after the facial session, I kept kept feeling, why

  345. is there something in one of my eyes? I can't even remember which I

  346. was. And I lived a few days with that something in my eyes.

  347. I just had a constant feeling that there was something foreign in my eyes.

  348. And I tried to rap, I tried to wash. I thought it was

  349. an eyelash, but it just wouldn't come out. Yeah, And I thought,

  350. maybe, you know, I'm just imagining things. So I lived with

  351. that something in my eye, the grain from the scrub in my eye,

  352. for a few days. I went through life right, And then after a

  353. few days, my eyes started to become watery and rate and swollen and painful.

  354. Yeah. So I had one bad rate eye here. And this was

  355. just a few days from my wedding, Okay, So I couldn't take it

  356. anymore. I went to see an eye doctor and then he opened my eye

  357. with some special equipment and chemicals, and he really dug deep and searched,

  358. and he really found that one little grain from the facial scrub embedded in my

  359. eye. It was quite deep in yeah, and it was between my eyeball

  360. and eye socket, so it was quite deep in here. To put in

  361. an instrument and take out that one grain. But after that, oh man,

  362. I tell you, it's like heaven on earth. I felt. I

  363. never felt so good. Okay, having the grain out of my eye.

  364. Yeah, But because he did that procedure right, my one of my eye

  365. was almost partially blinded temporarily because of the medication that he put in to dilate

  366. my pupils. The doctor c w no for the next few days. The

  367. medication needed time to wear off. So when I was walking down the aisle

  368. on my wedding day, I was actually one eye blind. I kid you

  369. not, I'm serious. Good thing I didn't go to the best man.

  370. I went to the hub my husband. Really. So we got married in

  371. cyber View Lodge, which is, you know, a nearby resort, and

  372. I was wearing my heels and I remember I was walking down it was a

  373. garden wedding, you know, you had to choose a garden wedding some more

  374. goodness me And it was quite a walk from where I was to faster Jack

  375. And so one eye is like blur, I really cannot see that. When

  376. I saw, my sense of perception and balance was off. Yeah. So

  377. I really when I was doing my bridal walk, I was really struggling on

  378. the inside, like, oh man, I can't really see I hope I

  379. don't dream and fall, you know, I hope I don't go to the

  380. wrong man. Yeah, but then God, by God's grace, the whole

  381. is really let me to the right man. Yeah, yes, yes,

  382. and so yeah, and thank God. By the time it was honeymoon time.

  383. Then my eyesight came back. Lad, so I could see clearly because

  384. my husband clearly. But it's real. It's horrible to be partially blinded,

  385. even temporarily. So this man was blind from his birth, both eyes.

  386. Okay, all right, And so just to paraphrase the story, Yeah,

  387. Jesus passed by this blind man. This blind man was seated outside the temple

  388. of God. All right, Okay, now we just read the story very

  389. quickly, are okay. So it says, now, as Jesus passed by,

  390. he saw a man who was blind from birth, and his disciples asked

  391. him, saying, Rabbi, who sinned this man or his parents that he

  392. was born blind. Next, Jesus answered, neither this man nor his parents

  393. sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. Sometimes

  394. we may be going through sickness or suffering in our lives. Sometimes is maybe

  395. because of sin in our lives or the lives of others. Sometimes it's not

  396. either. Israelly that God has a purpose to reveal his works in and tri

  397. our lives. Yeah. Verse four, Jesus said, I must work the

  398. works of him who sent me while it is day. The night is coming

  399. when no one can work. So friends, while we are still alive,

  400. we got to do what God calls us to do, because there will come

  401. a time where we won't be able to do what his callers to do anymore.

  402. Okay, we got to leave and seize the moment. Verse five,

  403. Jesus says, as long as I'm in the world, I am the light

  404. of the world. Verse six. When he had said these things, he

  405. spat on the ground mud. Jesus took mud in his hands and spat his

  406. sliver into that mud and made clay with the sliver, and he anointed the

  407. eyes of the blind man with the clay. Imagine if you go and see

  408. a doctor now for your eye infection, and your doctor says Weder, goes

  409. to the back of his clinic, take some mud from the roadside, come

  410. back into the consultation room, waiter were spit on the mud at some sweat

  411. and put it on your eyes. How many of you will go back to

  412. that doctor in modern day if he literally took mud and spit and put on

  413. your eyes. So you are called the doctor blind. Right, you are

  414. called the doctor blind. You will already become keyboard warrior on social media.

  415. You'll probably engaged Valerie to suthe the doctor. Ah, all this will happen

  416. in modern day if a doctor did that, my goodness, take mud,

  417. spit, put on the patient's eye, infection become much worse. But that's

  418. what Jesus did. It's as ridiculous as dead, but Jesus makes no mistakes.

  419. It was very significant in what he did. Taking mud signified that he

  420. is the creator, because remember how did he make Adam? It was for

  421. mud the earth. And by picking up mud or earth again, he is

  422. reminding us I made you once, I can make you again. I can

  423. give you a new pair of eyes. It's nothing too difficult for me.

  424. So as ridiculous as Jesus's methods seem, there is always a significance behind every

  425. single thing that he says and does. All right, so take comfort.

  426. Maybe God is asking you to do something very silly in your life. It

  427. seems ridiculous, but you got to trust him. He's God, he knows

  428. what he's doing. It's not ridiculous to him. In time, you will

  429. discover the meaning behind why he asked you to do something in a certain way.

  430. Okay, not only that, then verse seven, Jesus said to the

  431. blind man, go wash in the pool of siloam, which is translated as

  432. scent. So he went and washed and came back seeing again. Back to

  433. the same modern day doctor. Already, take the mad spit put on your

  434. eyes. After that asks you to go out of the clinic, go to

  435. the Putrajaya lake and wash and come back and see him. After that?

  436. Would you want the cold doctor? And at least that kind of doctor had

  437. a dr in front. Jesus didn't have a dr in front. I think

  438. it was even tougher for the man to trust him, true or not,

  439. but he did it. You want to know how far was the pool of

  440. siloam from the area outside the temple. Let me show you a picture.

  441. Sorry it's a bit blur, but let me try. So. This is

  442. where the temple was. Okay, this area is the temple mount and the

  443. pool of siloam is here. So it's actually about six hundred and forty meters

  444. away. How many steps is then maybe one meter takes two steps, so

  445. there's about thousand and two steps to take blind with mud on your eyes.

  446. Some more. I mean, a blind man walking around blind is already bad

  447. enough for people might ridicule you. But a blind man walking with mud,

  448. it's like ladies going out of the house with your facial masks on, right,

  449. freaky right, lucky people would catch out him. The amount of faith

  450. and trouble that he had to go through to get his healing ridiculous, right,

  451. And you know what, there was actually a pool just outside the temple,

  452. the pool of buddest Protesta. So logically, which pull should Jesus has

  453. asked him to go the nearby pool, right, which is just a couple

  454. of steps away? Why make him thousand over steps to get his healing?

  455. But you know, the pool of Siloam had fresh water, and the pool

  456. of Siloam was used by the Jews in the olden days for cleansing or purification

  457. rituals. So where God calls us to there is fresh water. God will

  458. not send us to a place of stale water. He is the living water.

  459. Where he sendses is for freshness to happen in our lives. Where he

  460. sendses is for purification to happen in our lives. So are any one of

  461. us like the blind men? We feel my word? God, why are

  462. you spitting onto mud and putting it on my eyes? It's ridiculous. Trust

  463. God, He is making something new in your life. He is making something

  464. new in your life. Are you wondering, God, why are you send

  465. me to the pool of Siloum so far? Send me a load to the

  466. pool of Adesta nearer. But God is sending you to a place where there

  467. is fresh, living water. God is sending you to a place of purification

  468. and refinement. Trust him. Everything seems ridiculous, but trust him. He's

  469. got meaning behind every single thing that he asks you to do, no matter

  470. how ridiculous it seems. Our part is to obey, all right, So

  471. I want to end with this final point. Radical obedience produces radical outcome.

  472. Radical obedience produces radical outcome. In Inglactions, Chapter six, verse seven to

  473. eight, God says that he is not mocked what a man souls, he

  474. will reap. We saw radical obedience, we will read radical outcome. God

  475. is a god of investment. You saw what you saw, You read what

  476. you read. God is a just God, right, And so as I

  477. look back at my own life, there have been times that I have not

  478. always obeyed God. To be honest, how many of you can identify with

  479. me? Yeah? Okay, but I thank God by his grace and mercy.

  480. There have also been times where I have obeyed God mixer life up and

  481. down, okay, and I thank God that out of the times that I've

  482. obeyed God, there were some radical obedience moments. And so today I'm just

  483. going to share maybe two very quick stories with you before we end. So

  484. the first, as I was asking God, you know, God, what

  485. story should I share with your people here today to just illustrate how radical obedience

  486. produces radical outcome in our lives, I said, God, bring to my

  487. mind, bring to memory out of all the things that have happened in my

  488. life. So he brought two remembrances to me, and the first one was

  489. to do with my life partner. Okay, maybe some of you have heard

  490. this story, but I'm just gonna say it again. Yeah, to give

  491. God glory. So pass Jack was not my first boyfriend. He was my

  492. second boyfriend. He is my second boyfriend and will ever be my second boyfriend?

  493. Okay, yeah, because he stops there after that his husband already no

  494. more boyfriends. Yeah. So I had a first boyfriend that I started a

  495. relationship with at fifteen, sixteen years old. Yeah, if I look back,

  496. there would be something that I would want to change. I wouldn't want

  497. to get into a relationship so early. Yeah, and then we didn't have

  498. guidance as well from our church leaders or our parents. You know, we

  499. just had to explore an experiment. You know, how it is to have

  500. a BGR at a young age. So if there's something I could tell to

  501. my younger self, I would say, Jill, no rush, no rush

  502. to get into a BGR, you know, as a teenager, because really,

  503. maturity is not there, not ready. Okay, never mind. So

  504. I was together with my first boyfriend for about six years, and we really

  505. thought that we would get married. Our families thought we would get married,

  506. you know, really, the whole thought we would get married. Yes,

  507. and and and so what happened was in our sixth year, I was already

  508. in UNI medical school in Malaysia. I am you and my boyfriend then did

  509. a training program, so he was studying in k l as well, but

  510. he went overseas to Australia to study the second part of his studies. And

  511. so because we were so close, right, and then we thought that we

  512. will definitely marry each other for sure. So he was saying, Jill,

  513. why don't you come over to Australia and finish your studies, graduate, find

  514. a job, Let's get married here, Let's settle down, have kids and

  515. live our lives here in Australia. And so that was the the request or

  516. the offer that was made known to me. And it felt like, Okayla,

  517. sounds legit, right. I mean, I've already been so close with

  518. his boyfriend, just you know, go all the way with him. Right

  519. in Australia is a good place. You know, many people are trying to

  520. migrate to Australia, even up to now. I know of friends who are

  521. trying hard to migrate to Australia. Right, I want usk here who wants

  522. to migrate to Australia. Okay, too sensitive to us, but you get

  523. what I mean. We're always seeking for greener pastures for ourselves, for our

  524. families. Yeah, and so it really seemed like the right, the natural

  525. thing to do. Just go to Australia and get married to this boyfriend that

  526. you've been, you know, together with for so long and everyone thinks you're

  527. going to marry him. Yeah, and you're going to a better place Australia.

  528. Why not. But so it seemed like it was the right thing to

  529. do, the natural thing to do. But I remember very clearly one day

  530. in my apartment in Balil opposite my medical school, the Holy Spirit spoke to

  531. me and said, Jill, I don't want you in Australia. I want

  532. you in Malaysia. Very clear that when I was preparing this message, when

  533. I thought bad about that, that instance, right, it felt like it

  534. just happened yesterday. For sure, that's God. You know, when God

  535. speaks to us, no matter how long time has passed, and you recall

  536. that situation, you will remember it crystal clear because it's God who has spoken.

  537. And so I remember it like it just happened yesterday. Is so clear.

  538. God told me I don't want you in Australia. I want you in

  539. Malaysia. I've got a purpose for you in Malaysia. That was all God

  540. said. He didn't say break up, he didn't say whatever. He just

  541. told me. He had a purpose for me in Malaysia. So sometimes when

  542. God speaks to us, he doesn't tell us atoz, but he gives us

  543. enough for us to make a decision, right, and so so I had

  544. to make a decision do I continue with the relationship do I go over?

  545. So, to cut the long story shot, I did not continue with that

  546. relationship. It was very tough, a lot of heartache, a lot of

  547. tears shared. Really wasn't easy my whole Yeah, it's like our wolves came

  548. crashing down because we thought this would be the person would marry. We thought

  549. this would be our future. But it just you know, came crashing down

  550. overnight. Yeah. And so but then God really led me to something new.

  551. And so as I was a part of ex church, he led me

  552. to pass a jack, Yes at the well. At the well the Church

  553. of God is like a well, yes of living water. And so,

  554. to cut the long story shot, you know, he gave me He brought

  555. me to the right person that I was supposed to marry, which is past

  556. a jack Yeah, and the best person to marry. If I could choose

  557. all over again, I will still choose him. I will not choose anyone

  558. else. Yeah, husband, wife, pick up lines off for your spouse.

  559. Okay. If I were to choose to get married all over again,

  560. I will still choose you. It's true. It's true. I really mean

  561. it. Not just because I'm here on stage. I really mean it,

  562. really pass a Jack. As I grow on in marriage, I discover more

  563. and more what a perfect fit we are for each other. When I first

  564. got married to him, I didn't know him so much. But as we

  565. go to life together, I begin to discover more and more about him,

  566. And I can only say, God, only you would know how a perfect

  567. fit we are. You know how his strength compliments my weakness, how my

  568. strength compliments his weakness, how we can move together in the same direction being

  569. different, but where one as well. So only God would know. God

  570. is the master matchmaker, all right, Trust God. Listen to God.

  571. All of you who are looking for life partners. You may think you know

  572. everything about the guy or the girl, but you don't until you start doing

  573. life together. And you will only discover more and more each other as you

  574. go through life. So the world will say after marriage romance comes down.

  575. But in God's kingdom, after marriage, romance can go up because you keep

  576. discovering more and more about each other as you do life together. Yeah.

  577. In God, yeah, he can turn water into wine. Amen, all

  578. right, So that and so yeah, So that radical obedience to let go

  579. of my first relationship and to stay back in Malaysia brought about a radical outcome

  580. to have the best husband ever. Yeah, and not just have a you

  581. know, the best husband, but to be able to you know, serve

  582. God's purposes for his church and for Malaysia together with my husband. And if

  583. God didn't lead me and give me the strength to make that decision to let

  584. go of that first relationship, I wouldn't be here. It'd be someone else

  585. here today. Yeah. And so that's one example. And another example was,

  586. so those of you who know, I used to run Clinic a Cheria

  587. and which is a community clinic. The extra started to help the poor,

  588. the refugees, and so I ran it for eight years and in twenty twenty,

  589. when the pandemic hit, we had to let go of the clinic because

  590. it just wasn't sustainable to keep running the clinic in the midst of the pandemic.

  591. I remember when the whole shopping mall was closed. It was dark during

  592. the MCO. Our clinic, which is on the first floor at the corner,

  593. was the only place that had light and life, and so we were

  594. running that way like everything was dark and quiet, and then we were there

  595. running in the old ladies some more meat and the nurses. So after a

  596. while we realized it's not safe to continue running in a dark and quiet space

  597. or ladies, so we had to close the clinic for a while during the

  598. MCO and the MCO you know, kept dragging on and dragging on and dragging

  599. on, and so you know, God just showed us it's time to let

  600. go of the clinic. And you know, God is good. When he

  601. calls us to let go of something, he never leaves us. And often,

  602. you know, when God calls you to let go or something, he's

  603. got something better in store for you. So don't be afraid to let go,

  604. you know, like I let go my first boyfriend, right I found

  605. my best husband. When God gives you the letter is always greater than the

  606. former. And so um yeah. And so when when we release the clinic,

  607. I had an option of either to stay on to work with X Church

  608. and a YA, or to go out and work in a marketplace and um,

  609. fun So God spoke to me and he said that not I mean,

  610. it wasn't funny that God spoke, but I didn't mean that. But okay.

  611. So God spoke to me very clearly that I was to stay back and

  612. to continue to work with X Church and a Ya. And he spoke to

  613. me in many ways. Yeah, in my own quiet time. He also

  614. spoke to me on Sunday. It is true the messages. It's like every

  615. Sunday, it's like I felt like the preacher knew what I was going through,

  616. and every word that came out was just affirming me of what I needed

  617. to do. Have you felt that way, Like everywhere you turn, everywhere

  618. you go, the same word is coming at you. God could be speaking

  619. to you, all right. And so it was very clear for me that

  620. I was to remain faithful to X Church and a Ya, to continue to

  621. work and to serve with X Church and a Ya. But at that time

  622. I had no idea what was ahead of me. And so over time God

  623. showed me that I was to focus on mental health and suicide prevention. You

  624. know, all my life as a as a doctor, I've always wanted to

  625. help sick people feel better I've always wanted to help save lives and that that

  626. was what I did for the first part of my career. I worked in

  627. the government hospital, I worked in the clinic. You know, I helped

  628. people get better. I helped save lives through CPR and things like that.

  629. But God was bringing me into a new season where he was going to use

  630. me to help sick people or people who may be dying mentally and save them

  631. and so but I didn't know at that time, but only God knows,

  632. Yeah, and so he he caused me to focus so much more on Linnette's

  633. which is our suicide prevention society that extra started a few years ago, very

  634. targeted, very focused on efforts surrounding suicide prevention, creating awareness, equipping people,

  635. providing tools that they need to get help if they are struggling with life.

  636. And so God has just brought me deeper and deeper into this. Honestly,

  637. if you ask me, as a medical student, psychology or psychiatry was

  638. my least favorite boasting as medical students, we have to round all the different

  639. disciplines. Psychiatry mental health was something that I will run far far away from

  640. really, But it's funny, like Jonah the very thing that you run away

  641. from is the very thing that God calls you to. So I'm speaking to

  642. someone here, don't run away. Just go with God's flow, okay,

  643. because the more you try and run away, the closer you're gonna get to

  644. what God wants you to do. And yeah, just flow with him that

  645. you'll be a more comfortable journey because either way, you're still going to end

  646. up where he wants you to be. So you want to choose a more

  647. comfortable path, just let go and follow him, or you want to keep

  648. fighting with him and striving. Okay. So I don't know what I'm speaking

  649. too, but someone here, don't run away from what or who God is

  650. calling you too. Okay, could be a who as well, right Okay,

  651. Um, I didn't plan that was not in my notes. But anyway,

  652. when God speaks, he speaks, and so um yeah, and and

  653. honestly, I have not been as fulfilled as I am right now doing what

  654. I'm doing. I'm still I'm still practicing as a doctor. I still help

  655. the refugees in their physical sicknesses, but now God has expanded my capacity to

  656. help people who are struggling with sickness and with death, not just in their

  657. physical bodies, but in their soul. God has expanded my capacity and I

  658. and I have never felt as fulfilled as I am now. Again, if

  659. I were to choose all over again, what would happen? I would choose

  660. still choose the same route, the same path, the same journey, because

  661. this is the life, the best life that I could live in God and

  662. for God. And okay, now I can say funnily, Okay, funnily,

  663. now it's the right time to say it. So, you know,

  664. when I was at a cross road at the beginning, asking God, God,

  665. should I stay with X church and a ya or should I go out

  666. and work in a marketplace? And I told God this, God, you

  667. know, if you want me to work in the marketplace, then you open

  668. doors for me. But if you want me to stay in X church and

  669. a Ya, you close all the doors. Let this be a sign for

  670. me. And so at that time, out of the human nature, I

  671. send out my applications for jobs in the marketplace and the doors were all close,

  672. and I was like, cannot be. I think I'm not too bad,

  673. you know, cannot be the doors are closed. But I could hear

  674. the Holy Spirit saying you ask for this fleece, right, I'm giving it

  675. to you. So finally, down the road, as I continue to serve

  676. with Lynnett's, suddenly very lucrative job, offers come hunting for me. So

  677. I'm no longer looking to work in a marketplace, but suddenly people are looking

  678. for me. I was offered to be a partner of a very successful clinic

  679. near my area. Yeah. I was hit hunted by a leading hospital to

  680. work with them, and it was part of like my dream hospital to work

  681. with, Like, oh, one day, quite nice to work with.

  682. This hospital is currently like the leading hospital in Malaysia. Yeah. So along

  683. the way, finally and as I was not looking, they came looking for

  684. me, and I was tempted. I was tempted, like, oh,

  685. you know, maybe my time is up with Linnettes. Maybe I should go

  686. and work out in a marketplace. You know, this offered to be a

  687. partner of the clinic doesn't come every day, you know, Yeah, Or

  688. this offered to work with a leading hospital in the country doesn't come every day,

  689. And I could be earning five figure salary every month. Oh, they'd

  690. be great. You know, my children want to travel very much, but

  691. it's not cheap to travel. Oh maybe then I can bring my children for

  692. holidays. I can so so much more into the house of God. No,

  693. many times there are different needs that come up, and I feel so

  694. much I want to give, but I'm limited in my finances. Right.

  695. But then very clearly, God reminds me, no, I want you to

  696. continue to sew into linnets and so but God knew that, you know,

  697. this would sort of like affirm me as well, to know that I am

  698. still wanted even in a marketplace. And so as I say, finally,

  699. where you're looking, God closed the door because he doesn't want you to be

  700. distracted. But when you're not looking, it comes to you just to tell

  701. you, hey, you know you still got it and more. And that's

  702. our God. He protects us where we need to be protected, but he

  703. also affirms us where we need to be affirmed. Okay, So that's another

  704. story of how radical obedience to stay back and serve the church versus working in

  705. the marketplace. That's what miya. More of you are called to the marketplace.

  706. We need more people in the marketplace. Okay, and that's good.

  707. That's God's calling for you. But this is for me, This is for

  708. me. Yeah, so radical obedience to stay back and to work for a

  709. lesser pay, much more hard work, because it's pioneering work. We are

  710. really one of the few suicide prevention societies in Malaysia. They are less than

  711. five in Malaysia. We are one of the few in the country. Yeah,

  712. so it's a lot of pioneering, plowing work. Yeah, but God

  713. has called me to stay back for lesser pay, more work by a bigger

  714. purpose, greater fulfillment, Amen, versus going out to the marketplace. I

  715. may be earning so much more. But like what past met says, if

  716. we are not doing what God has called us to do, that is failure.

  717. Success is doing what God wants us to do. That is success.

  718. So I believe in God's eyes I am successful now because I'm doing what He's

  719. called me to do. If I would, if I chose gather out of

  720. accepting all the offers in the eyes of the world, I could be successful.

  721. But when I face God, I'm a failure. So friends, let's

  722. not seek to be successful in God's in sorry, in the world's eyes,

  723. but seek to be successful in God's eyes. Amen, and obedience. Obedience

  724. is doing what God wants us to do succeeding as how He sees us to

  725. succeed. All right, Amen, and as we obey. Okay, all

  726. right, thank you. My husband reminded me gently. We love. Yes,

  727. I am not earning to bed right now as well. It's true.

  728. No, God is good. God is good, all right. He takes

  729. care of his people who work for his house. You see my life.

  730. I am blessed. We have enough. We're comfortable. Yeah, so I

  731. am not earning that little as well. Serving God Okay doesn't mean that.

  732. Yeah, full time workers earn you know nothing. We do earn a decent,

  733. comfortable salary, but it may not be as much as out in the

  734. marketplace. That's what I'm trying to say. Okay, so you get me,

  735. Yah, thank you dear. Yeah. All right, So friends,

  736. you know, let's really desire to obey God and see Heaven rule in our

  737. life. And even if it takes radical obedience, because you will experience a

  738. radical outcome. Amen. We hope you've been blessed by this message. For
