  1. You're listening to a message to go from Acts Church. We hope this message

  2. will light up your day. I'm going to focus today on John chapter eight.

  3. Okay, we're gonna talk about missions as well. Just a quick recap.

  4. You'll remember what doctor Jill shared last Sunday. Anyone is this three g's

  5. three G three G. It's three g's yeah, three g's not five gs.

  6. Go go give good news? Yeah, please go ahead? All right?

  7. So she was sharing about go give and good news. Right, that's

  8. what's mission? What missions is about? So encouraging everyone try and go all

  9. right? Even if I mean, of course, when we take talk about

  10. missions, what it's missions? Again? Maybe for some of us here it's

  11. new. You've heard a mission? Mission impossible? Right? Mission it's a

  12. thing you need to do, right, a mission. If you have a

  13. mission, please focus right, stick with a mission. Otherwise you're distracted and

  14. then you do something else. Everyone here, you have a mission. You're

  15. on a mission. Some of you are studying, you need to do that,

  16. all right. Some of you are working. You need to complete the

  17. mission, all right? But what is missions? With s? Right?

  18. Those of us you've gone to homes. Maybe you'll learn something and hope you

  19. remember, all right. Missions is kind of a Christian word, a word

  20. you know that's coined through the church. Missions has to do with going across

  21. cultures to reach someone else who is not like you, who is maybe from

  22. another country, you know, another background. So I want to consider even

  23. like, for example, people you know you're not you're not you're not a

  24. team, you're not a campus student, but you crow your adult culture to

  25. go into a young person's world and try and reach them because they speak different

  26. languages, isn't it right? Right? It's what Jen Jen Zeala, there's

  27. a way you think photo called gen z pot I was. I'm like,

  28. wow, okay, cool. Ellen's getting good at it anyway, she's been

  29. practicing. So right, it is you're crossing a culture as well, so

  30. uh, it's it's it's also across age groups. So missions has something to

  31. do with crossing your comfort zone into another place where you might be uncomfortable,

  32. right, and to be able to reach someone else, especially with the word

  33. of God, like doctor Jill said the Good News, right, Uh,

  34. and uh, there are many ways we can contribute to it, all right.

  35. I just want to say, uh, you know, when we do

  36. something as a church, especially with you're part of the church, no matter

  37. how how new you are, right when you do something for the Lord,

  38. all right? Uh, we we do represent each other. We represent the

  39. church. Like for example, all right, someone is in hospital and it's

  40. not feeling like I mean, we practice these at least as leaders when someone

  41. is not well in a hospital. And then not every leader can make it.

  42. But let's say two person makes it to visit a person in a hospital.

  43. All right, they represent the leadership. And we don't you know,

  44. don't go around and saying, you know, you know, I'm just here

  45. to visit. It's me all right, but we say, you know,

  46. we come together and representing ex church and we pray for you. You know,

  47. the church is praying for you, all right, So we're doing it

  48. together. So when you give right and we give to for example, Pastor

  49. Samuel from Manma is coming to stay with us in my our house. Okay.

  50. Uh, And I want to say, hey, we act Cyberjaya.

  51. You know, we're we're contributing to this together, all right, because it's

  52. I don't I mean, it's not I'm taking all the credit for it,

  53. and say, yeah, you know host that past Samuel but we are supporting

  54. this together all right as a church, and we're able to take part together

  55. to to be a part of this mission's conference to help Pastor Samuel. We

  56. want to be a blessing together two pasta Samuel who has been serving in x

  57. men. Mind, it's not been easy for him. I can't wait to

  58. hear the stories you know that he's going to tell us. Uh, and

  59. uh, you know, when that time comes, I will also share it

  60. with us what we hear from past of Samuel. And of course better still,

  61. please go to the mission's conference and hear it for yourself. Okay,

  62. he's gonna share there as well. Uh. And it's uh, you know,

  63. we don't always hear from past of Samuel and also past the France.

  64. Amen, so uh, you know more and more, let's think this way,

  65. all right. We're doing things together, all right, Uh, and

  66. we're contra everything together. So that's why when you give, you know,

  67. some of us can't go, but you can give or you can pray,

  68. right, and when you do that, you are contributing to it, all

  69. right. Don't look down on that. It's okay, alright, not everyone

  70. can go, but a bit more people can give. Maybe not everyone can

  71. give maybe it's okay, all right, but what you can you do you

  72. take part and that is that is contribution together united, Amen, hallelujah.

  73. So why did I get to that? Explaining to you what missions is?

  74. Explaining to you what missions is? All right? So you understand what missions

  75. is. So I want to tell you also, you many of you here,

  76. you came from another country, another state, all right, you crossed

  77. the borders and you're here, and you've got a culture shock with Cyberjaya,

  78. just like d all right. Uh, And I want to I want to

  79. remind you. I want to tell you, yes, you came for whatever,

  80. you came for, your work, your studies. But you know,

  81. if you serve the Lord. For those who serve the Lord, Let's not

  82. forget that it is God who orchestrates things. And you are here because He

  83. has allowed you to be here. And is there a purpose that He has

  84. for you to be here? All right? Besides study? Please do well

  85. in your studies, Please do well in your job, all right, be

  86. a testimony in your workplace? All right? Uh? And uh? But

  87. what what is it that God wants us to do while we are here?

  88. All right? Let's not forget that. I want to encourage you, want

  89. to challenge you this morning. You know there's more than that. It's more

  90. than that. All right. Now, let's get into the Bible a little

  91. bit. Okay, John, chapter eight, I got slides. Okay,

  92. sorry, the first thing we show the title, all right, So just

  93. the eyes admissions. Firstly, when you go for missions, there's no eye,

  94. there's no I meaning yeah, you you need to be there. I

  95. all right, But really missions is mostly about others. You care for others,

  96. and that's why we go for missions, right. We care that they

  97. need to hear the good news, and that's where we go. But you

  98. know, many times people who go, they will also tell you, you

  99. know, when I went right, instead of me serving them and blessing them,

  100. I felt like they blessed me more. It's always the case. All

  101. right, Go try it for yourself and tell me whether that's true or not.

  102. All right. And so what's the one the eyes admissions? Okay,

  103. Next, let's read the Bible, okay, John, chapter eight. I'll

  104. go straight to verse two here early in the morning, okay, So I

  105. put some pictures. Say you can draw who is that lady? Okay?

  106. Children, you can draw as well, and you can write one or two

  107. words that you catch from there. All right, Early in the morning he

  108. came again to the temple. All the people came to him, and he

  109. sat down and taught them. The scribes and the pharisees brought a woman who

  110. had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst They said to

  111. him, teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery.

  112. Next, now, in the law Moses commanded us to stone such women.

  113. So what do you say this? They said, to test him, that

  114. they might have some charge to bring against him. And what happens. Jesus

  115. banned down and wrote with his finger on the ground. Paused there for a

  116. while. Let's leave the verses there for now, right, what's going on

  117. here? Firstly, I want to tell you this story apparently, I mean,

  118. I'm just I was just doing some reading. Apparently this story, right,

  119. I mean, if you see your Bible, there's a bit of some

  120. interesting like notes there in records saying, like some manuscripts this story is not

  121. here something like that. All right, Okay, So I wondered, like

  122. what does this mean? And I read up a little bit and I realize.

  123. Okay, what it means is this story is actually supposed to be in

  124. the Bible. It is. It is a true story, all right,

  125. the story that's supposed to be in somewhere in the New Testament somewhere. But

  126. I guess whoever it is that put it there, they didn't know where to

  127. put it, all right, So eventually they put it here. But because

  128. and some people say, like it's kind of abrupt, like suddenly, because

  129. if you read chapter seven, you know, Jesus is teaching, is going

  130. to the temple teaching, and then all of a sudden there's this woman coming

  131. in like that, and then it continues Jesus teaching again. So don't about

  132. it. Firstly, the story is supposed to be there, just that you

  133. know, whoever arranged that gospel, they just put it there. It could

  134. have been any other part, maybe some maybe some other part. But don't

  135. worry. It is supposed to be there, okay. But it's quite interesting

  136. why it is like an interruption, all right. So first thing about missions.

  137. First thing about going across you know, too out of your comfort zone

  138. to help someone. It is an interruption. It's an interruption in your life.

  139. It's an interruption for your time. It's an interruption for your money,

  140. right, because suddenly missions say give you know the knoctor Jill nicely trying to

  141. tell you very kindly there that you're like, but in your mindset money giving

  142. right, Uh don't know whether heavy enough VLA for this month? You plan

  143. my this? You know, my have to pay fees, have to pay

  144. for my holiday, I have to pay for my meeting, my music for

  145. the movie I'm going to write. So how to give to this one?

  146. And then how when I give? Right? What do I get from it?

  147. What do I get? You know, you pay shoppy, you get

  148. something. Right, you pay shoppy, you get your product. You pay

  149. the restaurant, you get your food. Right, you paid it the TV

  150. TGV you get to get you can watch a movie when you paid this one

  151. to missions? What do you get? Maybe you should give receipt like at

  152. least, but what do you get? Right? It is in a way

  153. it's you don't really get anything material, you don't get a product from it,

  154. right, But so it is inconvenient. It is inconvenient. It is

  155. an interruption to your schedule, right for those who are going missions. It

  156. suddenly comes out of a way when like like doctor suddenly was invited, you

  157. know, and doctor Sheila, right, uh, invited to go to law

  158. of all places? Why can it be? You know Bernice, Italy?

  159. You know, why can it be? You know a bankok? You know

  160. Thailand? Where nice hotels? What can it be? Right? It had

  161. to be lad Dao. She was sharing some dangerous place some what happened there?

  162. And oh my word, it is inconvenient. And then I'm like,

  163. what I have to think? You're the kids. It interrupted my life,

  164. not only hers, my life as well, right, And of course you

  165. know, I mean to be very honest with you. Pastor seven was coming

  166. to stay in our house, and I mean our kids are very nice and

  167. kind, but they're asking like why why where am I sleeping? Who is

  168. this guy? Well? Languages to speak, you know, like is it

  169. is good? It's good, right, let's do it. Let's just do

  170. it. And I think it's good training for them. They're just just have

  171. to do it, all right. So it's an interruption, all right.

  172. Everyone, you can say to your neighbor, interruption. So this story is

  173. an interruption itself, all right. Jesus is teaching, sitting down, trying

  174. to teach and then these guys bring this woman to him trying to test him.

  175. Okay, but how does Jesus respond? So something we can learn.

  176. Right, it's an interruption, right, reaching reaching young people. Hey,

  177. what do I get out of it? Alright? Alright? Recently we went

  178. to this this ice wife Cybo. Anyone was there, you can say,

  179. hey, yeah, a small groups all right? I went upswell, Olive

  180. it was there as well, Priscilla. All right, so we went,

  181. we organized it. You know what we heard that you oc was having a

  182. new intake, you know, and then we heard and then you also right

  183. because we heard from our friend ye here yeah yeah, and the head yeah,

  184. she said yeah, I was the organizing committee for the what orientation?

  185. And like what oh that realized? Oh new intake. Then I said,

  186. hey, let's do something. It was like and prop it was like,

  187. let's do it. And let's say, Priscilla, let's organized to go do

  188. this thing. I survived and then uh and I thank god, you know,

  189. our team is very understanding my family as well. Then they say just

  190. do just do all right, let's go and uh we organized it and then

  191. you know, on that day it was fun. I'm sure it wasn't conveniently.

  192. I mean, Priscilla is doing a teacher job. She's like, you

  193. know, you know, I'm sure Blade is quite full, and she's organizing

  194. stuff, and she's suddenly excited there still, yeah it's coming, you know,

  195. if invited his the invite and more was designing, you know. And

  196. and so that day came Friday, I think last Friday, and then I

  197. also say, yeah, I come, let's go, you know, let's

  198. drive there. On that day, I was so packed, you know,

  199. Friday, and uh, I was honestly very very tired, very tired,

  200. and you know, driving it's also tiring, driving tiring. So I just

  201. went away. Thank God for some coffee. I just you know, I

  202. had enough coffee. And I drove the Cyberchaya and thank god I wasn't sleeping,

  203. you know. So I drove there, and when I arrived, you

  204. know, seriously, I felt so so tired. But then, by God's

  205. grace, by God's grace, when I saw these faces there, the young

  206. people, they're so excited. They're like, yeah, you know, it's

  207. something. I think. Some of them they look like, hey, thank

  208. you for organizing this. You know, I really wanted to go. I

  209. really do this thing. Every week. You know. Someone said that said,

  210. he said, well, I wish this was every week. I was

  211. like, yeah, and that energized me, thank god, right, it

  212. energized me. And we went and he went on, you know, and

  213. we went to Passamalam and we went around driving and it ended. I think

  214. by the time I reached home it was eleven pm, all right, and

  215. the kids were sleeping. So I'm telling you, honestly speaking, it's not

  216. convenient. It wasn't an easy thing to do, all right. It required

  217. my energy, It interrupted my schedule. I mean, honestly, I could

  218. have been like spending time with family, right, but we did that,

  219. and I'm glad we did. I'm glad we did because I just to see

  220. the faces, you know, of the of the excited students and they feel

  221. so I think they feel blessed. All right. We had a great time,

  222. all right, we ate together and uh, everyone was safe and went

  223. home safely. But I'm using this as an example. It was an interruption,

  224. right, Uh, this is not the only one, right, I'm

  225. sure there's many other forms right of how we have been interrupted. You know,

  226. when people, let's say, someone has an accident, right ends up

  227. in a hospital, hey, it really disrupts your schedule, right, but

  228. you know, out of a heart of missions and wanting to reach that person,

  229. you you drop some things immediately. You go like, okay, let's

  230. go and visit this person. Let's go and help this person with their car

  231. problems or whatever it is. Right, you do it because that's what Jesus

  232. would do. That's what Jesus will do. You know, he could have

  233. been having a great time up there, right, but I think it disrupted

  234. his time in heaven, and he came and inconvenience, right. Uh,

  235. he he didn't mind that, and he came to save us. Amen.

  236. So that's what we want to do. We want to follow what our Lord

  237. Jesus does. All right, everyone, okay, all right. So now

  238. we were saying how did Jesus handle this? Look in verse six there,

  239. the last line there, Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the

  240. ground. You know when if I just imagine this, imagine if you were

  241. like you were Jesus at the time. Imagine you're Jesus, you know,

  242. teaching, and then all of a sudden there's this situation where the Pharisees bring

  243. this this this woman all right and say this woman is uh done? Adult

  244. three? All right? You know what adult three is? Right? Children?

  245. No, man, it's it's it's sinna sin Okay. She's done something

  246. not right, meaning it could could have been maybe she was with a person

  247. that's not her husband. Maybe all right, because if you're married with one,

  248. you cannot be married to another person at the same time, you understand.

  249. So, so she was doing something like that, and so this person

  250. was brought. Can you imagine if you're Jesus and your face with that right

  251. now, what's your reaction? Right? I think many of us will panic,

  252. many of us will be worried, maybe like oh, what do I

  253. do? What I do? What I do now? And sometimes out of

  254. the panic, we might react, right, and maybe out of anger,

  255. maybe like an anger, or you might just say I don't know something.

  256. You might run away from it or whatever it is, right, But Jesus

  257. did not immediately react that way. What he did was he bent down.

  258. Right. He could have been also very confrontational, maybe because he's quite confident,

  259. right, I mean, he's Rabbi, right, his teacher, and

  260. he's son of God, right, so he could have been also very confrontational,

  261. like nonsense, you're doing right. But instead of doing that and confronting

  262. and fighting back, immediately he bent down. He didn't say anything all right,

  263. he can't. He kept he kept calm. He bent down. And

  264. that posture speaks of humility. That posture speaks off he's saying. Also,

  265. he's saying to the lady, right, they're they're putting you down. So

  266. I'm gonna come down with you. I'm gonna I'm gonna get low because because

  267. I don't want to be fighting. I don't want to. You know,

  268. when it's like an interruption that comes your way, you know, we we

  269. we could have we could use words like, hey, this is my right,

  270. this is my time, all right, I've got things to do,

  271. and you could have gone that way. But then Jesus doesn't do that.

  272. He doesn't work with his rights. Right. He bends down, and he

  273. humbles himself and he bows and he bends down. He goes low with the

  274. lady who is being embarrassed, being shamed, and he says nothing. And

  275. so that's how I want to encourage all of us here. You know,

  276. when your face with interruption, stay calm like Jesus, Stay calmed at Jesus

  277. and humble ourselves like Jesus, because you know, this interruption may need your

  278. help. This interruption is not here to give you trouble. Right, Let's

  279. see it from God's perspective. Maybe He's allowed it to happen. And what

  280. do I do right now? Amen? So the first thing interruption? Okay,

  281. moving on, what's next? All right? Now, let's look at

  282. John A twelve. Oh wait, okay, before that, before I go

  283. on here, when I say interruption, I want to also say, you

  284. know, it is interruption to your time as a person going out for missions,

  285. right, going forward and giving or you know, giving off your energy

  286. and your time. But I want to tell you also that to the person

  287. being being reached out to, it is also an interruption to them. You

  288. know what it's like like the salesperson coming to you suddenly your friend, I

  289. will no one call you, Hey, you have insurance or not? And

  290. he gets annoying, right right? You don't like that, right? But

  291. you know the person trying to sell insurance to you is trying to sell you

  292. something good actually right too? To them, it's good, right, that's

  293. why I want to give you something good. But you know that's that's insurance.

  294. But you know we all love, for example, good interruptions. You

  295. know what it is like suddenly, you know, someone calls you said,

  296. you know what, bro, you just want one million dollars. That's an

  297. interruption right in the middle of you're busy and everything, like you gotta meet

  298. this dayline phone call. You know, I just want one million dollars.

  299. And then you think, like the first of all, you thinks scam or

  300. not right? You check everything. It is true, let's say, and

  301. you go like, that's good news. I don't care about what I'm doing

  302. right now, I just want one million dollars. Right. Good interruption isn't

  303. ahead right? Or you're you're so you know, you're a busy whatever,

  304. and you're a good friend. The one that you like, the one that

  305. you like calls you, Hey, can we have dinner? Hey? Good

  306. interruption? Right, You're like, okay, ever set a site of stuff.

  307. This person I like, I'll go and hang out with them. But

  308. people you don't like, maybe you is that buzz right? So interruption is

  309. actually a neutral thing. But we like some interruption and we don't like some

  310. interruption. But I want to tell you as a doctor Jill was sharing right

  311. last week, this is good news. It's good interruption. It may be

  312. a little bit inconvenient, right, and people may not see it as good

  313. for at the moment, but you and you know, you and I,

  314. when we share the good news to them, it's good and that's why they

  315. get this interruption. Amen, So let's can can we see it that way?

  316. You know, when we do reach out and when we do cross our

  317. culture, cross borders to go and help someone, when we give it is

  318. a good interruption. Amen. Amen, Hey, okay, so practice here.

  319. Amen again Amen. Amen, Yes you can respond, please do all

  320. right, because I don't know where it is getting through to you. Amen.

  321. Alright, well done. You can also say yes, all right?

  322. What else? What is he to say? Come on? Yeah, appreciate,

  323. appreciate, come on, I say, come on, come on,

  324. come on. It's like, what does that mean? Keep going? Okay,

  325. all right now, let's go on now John eight twelve. Again,

  326. Jesus spoke to them. So you know, the case about the woman was

  327. settled already, all right. I didn't want to dwell on that, so

  328. just move on to after that moment. Again, Jesus spoke to them saying,

  329. I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk

  330. in darkness, but we'll have the light of life. All right, pause

  331. here for a moment. I want to talk about light for a moment,

  332. all right, because we're talking about the eyes off missions right. First one

  333. was interrupt, right, missions will interrupt our lives, and let's see it

  334. as it's good interruption. All right, say to your neighbor another neighbor that

  335. you haven't said to good interruption. Okay, So when you do sign up

  336. to go, when you do give all right, when you're praying right out

  337. of your normal prayers to pray for a church plant, for people who are

  338. going out for missions, right for someone else, take it as good interruption,

  339. Amen, and you will get better and better at planning these good interruptions.

  340. All right. Now, moving on here, so we're talking about the

  341. no no, still that right, let's talk about light for one. What

  342. does light do? It's very easy, right. I think you all know

  343. that if this whole room was dark, no lights, we can see each

  344. other, maybe we can hear by uh, it's it's not clear, and

  345. I some you know, you won't recognize everyone, you won't know what's going

  346. on. Right. Light is so important because it reveals to you. It

  347. overcomes darkness, all right. And it says that light, or rather darkness

  348. cannot overcome light. When there's light, darkness cannot take over amen. So

  349. what does light do? What else does light do? Light helps us to

  350. be clear? You know, when the light is brighter, you realize that

  351. now the light is okay, it's kind of dim, but when it's brighter,

  352. you can see more details, all right, you can see things clearer.

  353. Some of us, you know, at at an older age, you

  354. have this eye. You know, no vision problem, right, can't really

  355. see but sometimes all you need is just a bit more light and then you

  356. can see better. Right, So a light helps us to see things,

  357. and not just see things, but see things clearer. I would also say,

  358. you know, you will get understanding with light. There is understanding.

  359. I want to I want to relate this with what Jesus, or rather what

  360. was said in John one. It says that in the beginning was the word

  361. right, and the word was with God? And what was God? And

  362. they're referring to Jesus. So Jesus is also known as the word. Okay,

  363. so he's the light and he's the word. So we can put that

  364. together. Actually you know and say that when we have Jesus, we have

  365. the light that makes things clear, and we have the word, it helps

  366. us to be clear as well. It helps us understand. Amen. Amen,

  367. all right, good, you're with us. Yeah, So let me

  368. tell you a little bit about how the word all right and the light of

  369. God helps us to be clear. I want to tell you a little bit

  370. of a story here. All right. So when I was younger, I

  371. thought being a rebel was cool. Anyone here you also had this or you're

  372. still having this rebellient? It like being a rebel is cool? They come

  373. on, No, you had it? You know you're listened to rebellious music.

  374. No, all Christian music only all church anyone here? Nirvana, Nravanavana,

  375. anyone you're listening to Nirvana? No? Yeah, yeah, I'm not

  376. proud of it. No, don't want to put out the hand. Yeah

  377. right. I was just talking to Jill because she was showing me, you

  378. know, the stuff she likes, the music she likes, you know,

  379. take that. How deep is your bgs? Pop stuff? What's pop stuff?

  380. Stuff that you can play on the radio? Stuff you can play on

  381. the radio. All right, So there are groups of people who listen like

  382. radio stuff. And then I was telling her. You know, at that

  383. time, there were a few of us, you know, especially Geyser,

  384. we like to listen to underground stuff. You know, it was underground stuff.

  385. Underground means it's not played on the radio. No what, it's not

  386. found on the radio, man, because radios won't accept it. It's too

  387. it's too cool, it's too dangerous. It's too dangerous for the radio.

  388. It's too dangerous for young minds, you know, something like that. And

  389. so we would seek out all this stuff, you know, find the cassette

  390. tapes from shops and stuff, and say, this stuff is not on the

  391. radio man, And they were listening to that. It's hard, it's raw,

  392. it's dangerous sounding. And we felt cool. We felt cool. Why

  393. because we're going against a system. Going against a system was cool, right

  394. Even now some people think that way, right, go against a system,

  395. all right, And I mean it became so deeply roote it in me that

  396. I lived my life that way, like rebel is cool, right, And

  397. so I've been doing that everywhere I go, everywhere I go. Okay,

  398. I was doing I was I don't know this naturally, just that just flows

  399. out of me all right, rebellion. And so even in the in in

  400. church, even in when we go to like Christian fellowships, I'll be like,

  401. you guys doing that, it's not cool. I'm gonna do something else.

  402. We'll always do something else, all right. I'm not always I'm not

  403. gonna flow all right with everyone else. I'm always gonna have my own way.

  404. And I felt cool because I got a lot of attention from it.

  405. I dress different, right, I spoke different. And you know, there's

  406. one time I was from I was in m MU, and then everyone was

  407. doing this like I'm your family or my father, you're my wife, my

  408. husband. Everybody's like trying to relate to each you know, connect each other

  409. to family. And then I said, no, I'm not doing this,

  410. man, it's not my not my thing. And then they started labeling me

  411. what you know, It's like you say, that's the Jew, that's the

  412. Jew. I don't know why. I don't know how that like, I'm

  413. just like this guy. I'm not this guy out of the thing. But

  414. they but but but they still like me around because cool or something. So

  415. I lived like that and I felt so you know, proud about it.

  416. But then one day, one day. I can't remember exactly who, but

  417. there was a guy who came and shared the Word of God with us,

  418. and he pointed this out to me. Obviously, I wasn't reading my Bible

  419. much, so this verse. You know, some of you familiar with this

  420. next one. Yeah, for Samuel fifteen twenty three. Rebellion is as sinful

  421. as witchcraft. You know that, y'all. Let this before who revelation.

  422. For some of us, right, rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and

  423. stubbornness as bad as worshiping else. When I heard that, I'm like,

  424. are you serious? The Bible actually says this. Wow is speaking to me,

  425. right, It's like speaking to me. And I felt like I was

  426. such a rebel, and I felt like, all this while I've been doing

  427. witchcraft, right, I've been worshiping and idel in a sense by being stubborn,

  428. and so that began to change me. Nobody told me I should change.

  429. It's the word of God. The word of God spoke to me,

  430. and I wanted to change it. Sometimes that's all we need, right.

  431. I want to teach your children as much as possible, say all the stuff,

  432. don't do this, don't do that. But sometimes all they need is

  433. what God says. And when they hear God's word for their lives, it

  434. will change them. It will change them. Why because it brings light.

  435. It brought light to my darkness. I was in the dark man. I

  436. thought I was living a good life. Light shone on me and said,

  437. bro, you're a rebel. It's not right, no, I because it's

  438. witchcraft. And and I was so convicted, and the Holy Spirit worked within

  439. me, and I just started to to to to reverse that still rebel,

  440. right, but getting out of it, getting out. You know, it

  441. doesn't happen overnight, right, But more and more it was a turning point.

  442. It was good enough. The turning point made the difference. And I

  443. walked away from this whole rebellisting and more and more and more and more,

  444. And now I become a yes man. I become a submitted guy, all

  445. right. And and I and and and that's why I know I can smell

  446. rebellion because I've been living there for a long time. And that's why for

  447. me, like I've got so against it, I've gone ext dream away from

  448. it. I want to be a summit, a summited person, right,

  449. I will follow I will follow the rules. I will follow whatever my pastor

  450. tells me to. I will do it, all right, I'll tell I'll

  451. follow, you know, I say my pastor, because you know, I

  452. believe God speaks true him right and uh, and God speaks to us as

  453. well, all right. But I will want to submit to what the Word

  454. of God tells me. Amen. So the light shines, the Word of

  455. God reveals and mixed things clear for us. Hallelujah. Anyone needs that this

  456. morning, the light of God to shine and to stop us in our tracks

  457. and to turn us around. Amen, hallelujah. I want to also say

  458. the next thing is, I remember Paul Paul, Paul, Paul apostle Paul,

  459. Right, there was a moment right he was also like going against God,

  460. against God, and there was this bright light that shone right he you

  461. know, he was on the way to a place, right, and then

  462. the Lord around there was a light that shone on him, that blinded him

  463. for that moment. And sometimes that's what we need. We need God to

  464. shine so bright on us. It blinds us for a moment, blinds us

  465. from rebellion, blinds us from the things of the world, because our eyes

  466. are so fixed on on these things that are not right, that are hurting

  467. him. Sometimes we need that. I think we need God's light to shine

  468. to stop us in our tracks, and then we will stop and we will

  469. humble ourselves and say, oh, now I can't see I need help.

  470. I need to humble myself to actually ask for help right now. And Paul,

  471. there was his turning point, right, says here right, he went

  472. on this way approach to mask us. Suddenly a light from heaven shown around

  473. him. You want to draw that like like Paul cannot see right. Falling

  474. to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul,

  475. why are you persecuting me? And he said, who are you Lord?

  476. And he said, I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. I think

  477. there's a next slight. But rise and enter the city and you will be

  478. told what you are to do. The men who are traveling with him stood

  479. speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one. Saul rose from the ground,

  480. and although his eyes were open, he saw nothing. So they led

  481. him by the hand and brought him into the Damascus. So he needed to

  482. be helped. Paul is a strong guy, right, he persecutes people.

  483. But now he's weak and he needs help, and that's what we need.

  484. We need help as well. If you're going against God and sometimes you feel

  485. like what's going on, maybe God is trying to stop you and blind you

  486. for a moment so that you will humble yourself and turn and say I need

  487. help. I need help right now? Amen? So what is this?

  488. Missions? Firste interrupts us. Secondly, missions is about I put there.

  489. It's ill illuminating, right, another way of saying, it's about light,

  490. God's light. It's about bringing God's light to the person who needs it,

  491. bringing God's word. Two, those who need it, why because they are

  492. they're living in darkness, they're living in rebellion maybe, and they don't know

  493. it. Just like me, I thought it was cool, right a right.

  494. They think they're doing it. It all nice and good. But you

  495. know they need God's word to reveal to them for transformation. So let the

  496. light of Jesus illuminate and shine through our work in missions, through our giving,

  497. through your prayer. Amen, hallelujah. Now finally, let's go on

  498. join eight twenty nine, So Jesus said to them, when you have lifted

  499. up the son of Man, when you will know. Sorry, Then you

  500. will know that I am he, and that I do nothing on my own

  501. authority, but speak just as the Father taught me. And he who sent

  502. me is with me. He has not left me alone, for I always

  503. do the things that are pleasing to him. Next, so Jesus said to

  504. the Jews who had believed him, if you abide in my word, you

  505. are truly my disciples. Everyone said, truly my disciples, and you will

  506. know the truth, and the truth will set you free. Is that another

  507. one? Yeah, okay, Jesus answered them, truly, truly, I

  508. say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin, slave

  509. to sit. And everyone say that slave to sit. The slave does not

  510. remain in the house forever. The son remains forever. So if the Son

  511. sets you free, you will be free. Indeed, here we're talking about

  512. us about slavery. Here. You know, slaves cannot set themselves free,

  513. right, They cannot say, okay, all right, you're free. Now

  514. you can go. You're no longer a slave. Hey, your boss,

  515. You're not the boss, all right. The boss is the one who who

  516. took you in as a slave, and you are now slave to this boss.

  517. But the son, the son of the boss can come and say,

  518. Father, set this guy free. He's no longer a slave, set him

  519. free. The son has authority because the father loves the son. So the

  520. son can set you free as a slave, and then you know we've been

  521. adopted to be children of God. A man no longer slaves but free.

  522. Hallelujah. So now this one I want to talk about, is we were

  523. saying. Jesus was saying that, you know, my authority comes from from

  524. my father. My authority comes from my father. Everything I do I don't

  525. do on my own. It's not my own thing. I am not my

  526. own boss. Right, it comes from my father. And so he recognizes

  527. his father. Right. The question here is who is our father? Who

  528. is your father? Whatever you're doing right now, think about it for a

  529. moment. Whatever you're doing, however you know if you are you, are

  530. you serving? Are you part of this? How you're coming to church,

  531. how you're whatever you're doing, okay, how you're studying in fact, also

  532. how you're doing your work, how you're raising your family. You should I

  533. want to challenge us, think about that, Who is your father? Where

  534. does your authority come from? When you teach your children, when you do

  535. your work, when you speak to your colleagues, right, when you talk

  536. to your friends, Who is your father? Yeah? I mean, I

  537. mean those who are young you have a biological father. But truly, who

  538. is your father? Is it God the father? Or are you still slave

  539. to sit? And and in the scripture here I didn't go through all of

  540. it, but Jesus challenges the Pharisees, and he's quite direct. He says,

  541. your father is the devil. Your father's the devil because you act like

  542. him. I hope none of us will be told that your father's the devil

  543. because you act like him? Right? What is the what does the devil

  544. do? He lies? He lies, doesn't tell the truth. Do we

  545. tell the truth? Do we lie? Do we cover up? Right?

  546. Do we cover up? Do we hide? That is what the devil does,

  547. and that is what the devil wants us to do. So please don't

  548. acknowledge the devil as your father by acting like him. Come on, are

  549. we doing okay? Right? Right? Tell your neighbor your father is not

  550. the devil? Then who's your father? Father is not the devil? None

  551. of you? Right? He does not own you. You don't belong to

  552. him. We just sang that right. I belong to Jesus, he belongs

  553. to us to me, Yeah, we're related, Jesus and us. All

  554. right, God the Father, God is our father. Our father, God

  555. is our father. So please let's check how we live. All right.

  556. How we live shows who our father is, and Jesus says, I only

  557. do things according to my father. My authority comes from my father. Amen.
