You're listening to a message to go from ex church. We hope this message
-
will light up your dam. The title of the message today is Urgency of
-
Time. Right, and the theme of this message or the theme of the
-
church that we have this year is Heaven Rules. Amen. All right,
-
and we are going towards the finishing line. Hey, Jesus is coming back.
-
Let's get excited, Agency of Time. Yes. Getting excited is one
-
thing, but hey, let's finish the work together. Yes, and remembering
-
that Heaven rules, yeah, despite of what is happening all around us.
-
Okay, right, Urgency of Time. Okay. So the main scripture reference
-
today that we're gonna read is from the Book of Luke, chapter fourteen,
-
verse sixteen to twenty four. Okay, you can open your bibles. Okay,
-
then we just stay on this side until I finished reading the scripture.
-
All right. If you have your Bibles, you can open to it digital
-
or physical Bible also can or you can just listen to my voice as I
-
also read it for us. Okay. From the Book of Luke, chapter
-
fourteen, verse sixteen to twenty four. Then Jesus said to him, who
-
is one of the Pharisees, There a certain man gave a great supper and
-
invited many, and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who
-
were invited, come, for all things are now ready verse eighteen. But
-
they, always one accord, began to make excuses. The first said to
-
him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and
-
see it. I ask you to have me excused verse nineteen. And another
-
said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to
-
test them. I ask you to have me excused verse twenty. Still another
-
said I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. So that
-
servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the
-
house, being angry, said to his servant, go out quickly into the
-
streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the
-
lame, and the lame and the blind verse twenty two. And the servant
-
said, Master, it is done as you commanded, and still there is
-
room very tree. Then the master said to the servant, go out into
-
the highways and hedges and compel them to come in that my house may be
-
filled verse twenty four. For I say to you that none of those men
-
who were invited, shall taste my supper. God blessed the reading of His
-
word today. Let's even go deeper on this scripture, right, Let's let's
-
see what God has to say to us. Okay, we can go to
-
the next light. So in verse sixteen, when it all started, Okay,
-
yes, before I mentioned further, the background of how I got into
-
hearing God leading us to receive this message today is from the forty Days Prayer
-
and Fast, the NCF Prayer and Fast devotional that we had on the first
-
week. This was the scripture and it was through the couple of days that
-
we had a time of just going deeper. And I really felt that this
-
verse really strike me, and I really felt that this verse is something that
-
God wants us to hear today. Right, So that was the background of
-
how this message came about. Yeah, So Luke, chapter fourteen, Verse
-
sixteen, here says yes. Then he said to them, So it was
-
a time where Jesus, he was mackening. He was having a hangout time
-
with some pharisees, the teachers of the the how do you say the church
-
then or the community, the Christian community then, right, Jesus was hanging
-
out with them, and then he was sharing this story. That's why it
-
says here he in big letter, h is Jesus said to him, a
-
certain man gave a great supper. Wow, Malaysians also supper, right,
-
okay, not just supper. Mama, we call mama, all right,
-
Mama is just we're probably a small version of great supper. Okay, this
-
is great supper. Can tell me about it, great supper. Have you
-
have anyone been to a great supper? Probably a long time. I have
-
a snippet of the picture here, Okay, for a glimpse of a great
-
supper, imagine this hundred times. Smoke. I yeah, the the screen
-
is only's so limited, but can you imagine like this hundred times, like
-
all spread out here and even more. You know, I really believe this
-
great supper is great because the man, the man gave this supper and invited
-
many. Okay, so I can imagine like my wedding or some weddings that
-
are like oh so big or really great supper. Okay, a great supper.
-
Right as I was reading this first line, a man gave this man
-
to be super generous, he must be really rich, okay to give a
-
great supper, right, and this Great Supper, this story where Jesus was
-
telling. Right, this Great Supper talks about every time we have supper,
-
we talk about like fellowshipping. Right, Yo, you don't Macan like,
-
okay, you know you're Macca and ain't go see one corner by yourself,
-
know, right, everybody Macca and man you say hey, come, Macan
-
means like hey, if you'll get to fellowship, you get to talk and
-
you get to check out, hey, how how are you doing? And
-
things like that. It is every time Maccan time is like talking time also
-
right, getting to know. So it's a fellowship. It's a time where
-
this man actually wants we have a great supper to fellowship with the people that
-
he has invited. Right, So it talks about this great supper. Is
-
it talks about a joyful fellowship with God. Right, and it's a it's
-
a time of great blessing. You know. The man a certain man,
-
this certain man, a rich certain man. Okay, give you know,
-
he's generous, he gave, he wants to be He wants to bless his
-
guest. Okay, and he has he is generous, he has great provision.
-
And it is he wants to nourish and refresh his guests that he has
-
invited. So you can imagine God, this settle man is like God.
-
Right, he is so generous towards everyone he's inviting to this great Supper.
-
Okay, And and this supper you can expect great blessing, eternal life,
-
generous provision for nourishment and refreshment for the spirit man, the grace of the
-
gospel. It is so great. You must count. You know, you
-
get invited, you really want to come, right, You'll be jealous if
-
you're not invited. But there's certain man invited many, so probably everyone was
-
included. I think, I think, okay, but but maybe not everyone
-
was invited. Then now okay, so you just now read a bit about
-
it. Right, So this this joyful fellowship, it is actually the original
-
plan of God when he created men, he really want to He created man
-
because he wanted to enjoy this fellowship with men. You know, let's let's
-
do things, let's partner together, let's do something great together. You want
-
to fellowship, hey know, each other. That's how God created the Garden
-
of Eden, you know, to fellowship and to you know, just be
-
with men. Right, So that was his original plan. Unfortunately, sin
-
came into the picture, and you know, there was a separation. You
-
know, we call it like divorce or something, you know, I mean
-
there was a separation. The relationship was broken because of sin. And and
-
thank God that God provided away. God God came into restore back the relationship
-
true, ascending his one and only son, Jesus Christ to reconcile us back
-
to him again. That's amazing and isn't it right? And and it's so
-
important, and you know, this is the gospel message. Gospel stands for,
-
Okay, g o spl. Some people call it God's only Son provides
-
eternal life. Right. Aw, when I heard that was like so cool.
-
God's God's only Son provides eternal life. G o spl. God's only
-
Son provides eternal life. Indeed, So anyway, this Great Supper also talks
-
about that in the future there will be a great Supper like this, right,
-
it will be fully realized in the coming age. So do look forward
-
for all this great Supper and I hope to see you there at the Great
-
Supper. Yeah right, it is okay, okay. Another thing I found
-
out about this Great Supper. Do you know why it's called a supper?
-
And it's not like morning tea, afternoon tea, breakfast, brunch. Have
-
you thought about it, like a white supper, right, So I did
-
a little bit of study. It is called a supper because in those countries,
-
supper time was the chief fisting time when the business of the day was
-
over, its end of business. You know someone's working in the office,
-
right. You know when people say EO B, it's end of business,
-
right, Supper time is EO B time, you know, EO B.
-
Yeah, Like people will say, what office, our happy our time?
-
Right, So yeah, so supper time it was the chief fisting time.
-
So this also I mean to tie back to today's world. Right, the
-
evening of the world's day is the manifestation of gods of the gospel grace to
-
the world, and the fruction of the fullness of the grace in heaven is
-
real, is reserved for the evening of our day. So just know that
-
at the end of it all, there is this great supper when everything is
-
done, when everything is well, everything is done, completed at the finishing
-
line, towards the finish line, at the end of the finish line,
-
that is a great supper. Let's let's look forward to it. Come on,
-
and we hope that everyone will be there, all right. So okay,
-
next line, and this Great Supper is is how they say the invitation
-
is for all? Right, invitation is too many and to all people.
-
There is provision and enough for all who come. It is a fist for
-
all people. How many people? You ask me? Huh? The last
-
e Google was eight point one billion people on the face of the earth.
-
Right now, I believe I believe the the Great Supper can or colbnate nine
-
billion or maybe ten billion or even more. I'm sure because it's such a
-
great supper, right and everyone everyone is invited, no one, there's no
-
there's no how to say, yeah, it includes everybody. Okay. So
-
and you know something about this. I really love this study because you know,
-
in when the men gave the invitation out. You know, usually now
-
how you have weddings, right, invitation usually like you know, you have
-
a card that tells you the date and the time. Right in those days
-
they don't have clock yet, they don't have a clock, so you can
-
imagine how to invite people for an event. Right, So last time what
-
they did was that was two two invitations for one event. So the first
-
invitation will tell you the date. At least they have a date. They
-
don't have a time yet, right, So they have a date, so
-
they'll tell you, Okay, this Friday, that's Mission's conference. Please come
-
on Mission's conference. No clock yet, right, I didn't tell you the
-
time. Yeah, so we will tell you the time when it's ready.
-
So on Friday, you have to be like expecting whenever the next invitation comes
-
on Friday, Yeah, then you'll be like like going there already. So
-
actually on that day itself, the second invitation will be sent out when the
-
time is ready. Right. So for example, like in today's term,
-
the invitation has gone out, this invitation as in like, come to Jesus.
-
He is he is God, and he is Lord. He has this
-
great supper waiting for you. This is that first invitation telling all of us
-
here and everyone who still do not know Jesus yet that hey, the great
-
supper is coming. You know, there is going to be a great supper
-
at the end of the finishing line. But then on that day, that
-
day when the trump but blow that it's the day when everyone should be ready
-
to go in for the supper. However, of course we will that's probably
-
another study where we will read about some people may not make it and all
-
things like that. But yeah, I'll just let you know that there's an
-
invitation. Two times of invitation. Invitation one is everyone is invited. People
-
know like, okay, what date the event is. But on the time
-
when it's ready, that's another invitation will come out. Okay, So that
-
one we must get ready, okay, to respond when the time is there.
-
Okay, right, So okay, next ight, And then that's this
-
verse in verse seventeen says and yes, and sent his servant at supper time
-
to say to those who were invited, come, for all things are now
-
ready. So this is the second invitation on that day itself, like eight
-
pm or maybe seventhyia I think, so seventhiesa, come, come, come,
-
the supper is ready, the food is laid out, it's ready.
-
Come. So that is the time when everybody, okay, okay, come
-
come, come like that, Okay, come for all things are now ready.
-
Now all things are ready, the full discovery of the gospel mystery is
-
now made available. Hey, just to let you know the gospel wasn't ready
-
true out the time yet then right now, now we're living in the year
-
twenty twenty three. The Gospel is available for us. It's ready. Jesus
-
died on the cross, he rose again on the third day. He is
-
a life. He sit there at the right hand of God the Father,
-
and the Holy Spirit is with us. God gave the Holy Spirit with us.
-
Already, the Gospel is ready. Everything is ready for us to come
-
and respond to him right and even the ordinances of the Gospel are now instituted.
-
The Society of Christians is now in operated. We have churches, we
-
have cell groups. We are already we are here, you know, you
-
know, we're all so blessed. You know today last time, how I
-
don't know how they gather. I'm sure they gather, but not as convenient
-
as right now. I mean, it's just too convenient. If in heaven,
-
if you meet them and we tell them how we have churched our gatherings
-
together and said, you guys, you don't know how you have suffered through
-
bringing the cows and everything. You know, we are like, you know,
-
it's still convenient right now. And yet and yet you know, we
-
really hope that everyone could come and hear the gospel together, and you know,
-
one day together have that great supper. Right, So in adults,
-
now everything is ready, right, and this is the call now given to
-
us. All things are ready. Now is the accepted time. It is
-
now. It is a season of grace that will soon be over. Let
-
me repeat myself. It is a season of grace that will soon be over.
-
And therefore come now, do not delay except the invitation. All are
-
welcome to it and feast. Yes, now it's the time because it is
-
a season of grace. Now, it's a season of grace that will soon
-
be over. Don't miss the boat people. Yes, okay, So that's
-
why the story says, come for all things are now ready. Okay.
-
So in Hebrews chapter three, verse fifteen also says, today, if you
-
hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the day of rebellion.
-
Second Corinthians six, verse two days. Today is the day of salvation.
-
Today is today today? Right? Very important? Come for all things
-
are now ready. So yeah, So coming back to this story, in
-
the chapter fourteen, verse eighteen says, but okay, so the invitation has
-
gone out, musters, tell the servant go and call the all those people
-
invite to count the food the supper is not ready. The Great Supper is
-
not ready. But verse eighteen says, but they all with one accord began
-
to make excuses. The first said to him, I have bought a piece
-
of ground and I must go and see. I ask you to have me
-
excuse right. So here in verse eighteen, you know, the excuse us
-
here are actually different, as we have read previously. Just now, the
-
excuse here are different, but really all the same. They're all with one
-
a cad became to make excuses. It's the same excuse. No, it's
-
different, but it's excuse right, It's just an excuse, right, So
-
so you know, the first one says he had purchased a land. You
-
know, those who have their hearts full of the world and feeling complacent,
-
you know, and will have their ears death towards this Gospel of invitation,
-
because the cast of the world is now louder. Right. In verse the
-
next verse nineteen says, and an others said, I have bought five yoke
-
of oxen and I'm going to test them. I ask you to have me
-
excused. So this person, this second person bought a yok Okay in those
-
days, a yok's like a piece of wood that connects two cows together.
-
Okay, I think today also they do, right. Yeah, so you
-
have a yolk, right, so you buy a New York. He bought
-
a New York and he wanted to test it out on that day when the
-
Great Supper was ready. Okay, so yeah, so it's like, huh,
-
why can't he actually test it before he bought it? Right? I
-
mean in today's world, you won't buy something that you don't test it,
-
right, you will probably for example, the light the lamb. Right,
-
you won't buy something you you will go before you buy you will go to
-
the electric place where they would test it out that the bulb works correct before
-
you buy it, unless you accedentally buy it and then you fix it in
-
your house and it doesn't work, and then you'll go back, you know,
-
very inconvenient. Right, So you will always test something like okay,
-
drive, you buy a car, you buy a car, you also do
-
a test drive. Right, you would test it first before you buy it.
-
But then these people I don't know how they buy something, then they
-
don't need us like hmm, okay, I don't know about warranty. Yeah,
-
and test at night? Yes? Good, good point. Why are
-
they testing and very interesting. So yeah, some sometimes things of the world
-
became so becomes louder, right, and and it's treated and the invitation is
-
treated like little things compared to the cast and the concerns of the world around
-
us. Just just a warning like that, many times we will tend to
-
be easily distracted by the things around us because the things around us is the
-
voices seems louder. So that's why we all need together as a church.
-
We need to raise that voice louder about the things of God. Like like
-
how we have missions conference. We are like, hey people, you know,
-
yeah, we are actually literally fighting against the voices of the world.
-
But of course we need us all together. If you're a believer of Christ,
-
missions is something that you are like like this, you know, because
-
God, God takes missions really close to his heart as well. So yeah,
-
let's let's do it together as a church. Right. We are called
-
the church for a reason. And yeah, so that's the second second person
-
that gave to ax you. So the third one says uh verse twenty.
-
Still another said I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
-
Wow dialect dialect, Sorry, I cannot come. I got a wife.
-
So I don't know how to say. Okay, so our affection, our
-
affection and relations often proves a hindrance to us in our duty to God.
-
He might have gone and had taken his wife along with him and they would
-
have both been well welcome. I'm sure, I'm sure. Yeah, he
-
should have just bring his wife. Come, come, let's mark come together,
-
let's go together. Why why I don't know why he didn't thought ask
-
permission? I am as as pervission. Oh yeah, so yeah, yeah,
-
correct, So you know, yeah, you know all these things I
-
mean, like for example, the land, the yoke, his wife,
-
right, all these things are actually blessings from God's lawful blessings, God's blessing
-
for us. However, they have taken God's blessing a birth God himself.
-
It is very scary. I mean that that it's it's that's a tendency of
-
men falling into this. So this is just a good reminder, a warning
-
for all of us that the blessing of God, our families is God's blessing,
-
our children our God's blessing. Let's not let this be a hindrance towards
-
what God has called us to do. A man Yeah, it's very very
-
important, and remember to put God at his rightful place. Yeah, so
-
when God calls, let's answer immediately. Right. So, next, like,
-
excuse us our fashion for convenience and not for conviction. Right, we
-
don't live by convenience, but we leave conviction. Okay, it's very important
-
reminder for us today. You can take picture, you can take technes.
-
Okay, very important. Excuses are fashion for convenience. Always remember, I
-
mean, we're not we're not guilt tripping anybody. If you feel something within
-
your heart, I believe it's the Holy Spirit speaking to us. But really,
-
you know, let's let's check our hearts even this morning. Reasons.
-
Yeah, there's there's reason, there's valid reasons, yes, but there are
-
also excuses. Do do do? Let's check our hearts about this. Excuses
-
are fashion for convenience and not conviction. We don't live by convenience, but
-
by conviction. What do you really believe in? Brothers and sisters, what
-
do we really believe in? Yeah? What is our conviction when God says
-
something about missions? What is our conviction when God speaks about the lost?
-
Right? Okay, next line, hope doesn't begin until excuses and agreeing on.
-
Yeah, so when I never we still have excuse probably no hope blah.
-
So that's this guy called Charles Hidden Spurgan. Okay, he's a prominent
-
English Baptist preacher, he's an author, he's an influential figure in the Christian
-
community in the nineteenth century. So this is why he says, excuses our
-
curses are your Your excuse us are curses, and when you have no excuse
-
us left, there will be your hope for you. Wow, excellent,
-
right, Like, yeah, you know that's why today's in this year our
-
theme havn't rules, right, having rules towards the finishing line. And there's
-
also say, excuse proof means we don't want to have excuses, excuse proof,
-
but exploits pact. Let's be exploits pact church together, right, Yes,
-
if you know something, if Christianity is so true and it's so good,
-
like what we saw the Great Supper, like how I describe just now?
-
I hope it's great, but it's okay, never mind, but yes,
-
of course what God offers us when God gave his all, it's so
-
amazing. If Christianity is so good, so true, why don't more embrace
-
it. Have you thought about it? Why don't more accept the invitation when
-
it's so good? I mean the shopping malls everybody even they have seal like
-
why everybody are you see all the all the sale of people lining up like
-
crazy? You know. But but similarly, like you know, the Christian
-
faith so good, so so amazing, you know, so wonderful. Why
-
is there isn't more people accepting it or in accepting this invitation? It is
-
because of the excuses that begin to explain why such wonderful invitation was rejected.
-
Yeah, because of the cares of the world, because something else seems louder
-
somehow. But yeah, so that's why we need the church to rise up.
-
Church, Rise up x Cyberjaya, Rise up, Cyberjaya needs to hear
-
who Jesus is and this great Supper that's coming. It's amazing. God provides
-
eternal life, true Christ. Jesus, he died, he laid down his
-
life for us. He loves us. He's amazing. You know. Hey,
-
we can all we can do it. Okay. So that's why we're
-
here. We are here in church being reminded again who we are and what
-
we needed to do. Okay. So yes, let's stop the excuses and
-
let's be exploits for God. Okay, so let's come back to the story
-
Luke, Chapter fourteen, verse twenty one. So, yes, so that
-
servant came and reported these things to his master. Okay we pause that Something
-
about this sentence right really triggers me, like, Hey, this servant,
-
he's such a good servant, he got a bad report. He's so good
-
that he will bring it back to his master. Okay, I know or
-
some people who receive bad report and don't tell the boss and let's keep it
-
quietly, or maybe it makes some story. Actually, Boss, but he
-
doesn't do that. This is a good servant. He brings this report.
-
He came to the master and tell the master about this. This talks about
-
all of us here as Christians. Right, we are here to focus on
-
the work. Okay, on the work, meaning to to to invite people.
-
Right, the Master says, go out and invite the people come for
-
this great supper. Right, we are we are his servants. We are
-
all his servants. We are we are we are to do to tell,
-
to speak of who Jesus is right and to and of course there are some
-
who reject us heartbroken. Then we keep it to ourselves. You don't tell
-
God. Nah, God, it's okay, La. You know, I'm
-
like no, no, no, But it's God servant came and reported these
-
things back to God. So whenever you get rejected, don't be so pitiful
-
by yourself. Bring it to God. Okay, bring it to God.
-
God. These people rejected me, I tried my vest. It's okay,
-
God, I give it back to you. Of course, of course you
-
will feel rejected by what. Just bring your feelings all to God because this
-
is God's instruction for us, right it is. It is not how they
-
say. It's not we shouldn't better rejected things on our own. It is
-
because this is truction is from God. We need to bring it back to
-
God. Very important. Okay, So so yes we ask God's servant must
-
give an account next. Like you will see, accountability is very important as
-
we as God's servants, must give account of the outcome of our ministry.
-
We focus on obedience, bring the outcome to God. Focus on following the
-
next step. Okay, So the person reject me, we bring it to
-
God. God. What should I do next? Okay? Don't pity pity
-
there or God I get rejected, I would want to do this anymola,
-
I'd want to follow instruction. Okay, I just go no, no,
-
no, don't do that, God says, you know, in this verse,
-
it says, bring it to God and ask see what God's instruction is
-
next? Yeah, what is the next step? Okay, don't get discourage.
-
So I just want to I feel like there's us an encouragement that's coming
-
over here, even in through this us. You know, probably you have
-
been trying to, you know, share God's love with somebody, but that
-
person just doesn't want to respond or reject you, or haven't responded, doesn't
-
have a good indicator. You know. You just bring it to God and
-
you'll ask God, God, what should I do next? Right? Because
-
God is God, He is the Master. He is the one who gave
-
that instruction to invite, right, and you are just being obedient towards his
-
instruction. All right, So focus on the goal and bring the outcome to
-
God. Okay, that is the point, right, and continue on the
-
next sentence. Then the Master of the house being angry, of course,
-
yeah, angry, right, God, God is angry because al rather,
-
the Master is angry, right because the invitation has been turned down. And
-
in this it shows that how how those people have been invited. I've showed
-
how little they value the Master. Right, the ingratitude of those that insult
-
the gospel offers and the contempt they put upon God of Heaven are a very
-
great provocation to him. Right. Of course, God will get angry.
-
Mercy that is taken for granted will turn into a great wrath. Right,
-
that will become a time, okay, for God to execute his judgment.
-
It is, this is the truth. I want to say it plainly here.
-
There will be a time of judgment. Okay. However, now it's
-
a time of grace. Right. So now it's the time where we need
-
to respond and continue to invite. Okay, that's this grace, the grace
-
period. The invitation is still open. We are all still here, we'll
-
still gathered as a church. Right, there's still grace, right, Okay,
-
So next sentence say, is so the master of the house, being
-
angry, said to his servant, go out quickly into the streets and lanes
-
of the city, and bring in here the poor and the maname, and
-
the lame and the blind. Right, you know, the Master really cared
-
about this great Supper, preparing furnishing the Great Supper with plenty of food.
-
Okay, in actual terms, probably good things to nourish our spiritual man.
-
God has provided everything sufficient for us. Right. And also he really had
-
invited everybody. Right. And here in verse twenty one, it says,
-
you go out quickly, lose no time, because all things are now ready.
-
Call them to come today while it is called today, and come.
-
Tell them to come in by approaching them kindly and drawing them with the cords
-
of men and bands of love. See here in verse in this verse twenty
-
one. Right, do you see a similarity when the Master calls his servant,
-
go out, go out, go out right next light verse Matthew,
-
chapter twenty eight, verse nineteen to twenty. Similarly, Jesus gave us this
-
last commandment. It is our first priority. Go therefore and make disciples of
-
all nations right, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son,
-
and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have
-
commanded you. And lo, I am with you always even to the end
-
of the age. Amen. Right. And also in Romans chapter one,
-
verse sixteen says, for I I'm not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ,
-
for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes. So
-
this invitation is to everyone who believes, for the jew first, who was
-
invited first, of course, and also the Greeks, which is now open
-
to everyone else. Now right now, right, okay, let's continue the
-
story in verse twenty one, verse twenty two. And the servants said,
-
Master, it is done as you have commanded, and still there is room.
-
Wow. Hey, this this servant is very hard working. He already
-
did above and beyond what the Master asked him to do. He invited those
-
invited. He also invited those whom the Master didn't invite. So he told
-
your master, already done, boss, already done, right, you know,
-
and still there are room. So this is a good oblem. Now
-
is there's still room Master, So though many have been brought into partake of
-
the benefits of the gospel, yet still there is room for more. For
-
the riches of Christ are unsearchable and inexhaustible. Wow, this word, the
-
riches of Christ is inexhaustible and other vocabulary that we can put Wow, amazing.
-
Let me repeat that again. It's so good. The riches of Christ
-
are inexhaustible. There is in him enough for all and enough for each.
-
And the Gospel excludes none that do not exclude themselves, meaning to say,
-
it's for everyone who wants to come, okay, is for everyone who wants
-
to come for this great supper? Okay, right everyone, very good,
-
right, very good. Verse twenty three. Then the masters said to the
-
servant, go out into the highways, and he compel them to come in
-
that my house may be filled. While compel. Now the keyword compel,
-
compel, compel this water compel. Compel can also mean to encourage, but
-
in a more how do you say vigorous compel compel Okay, be earnest with
-
them, for in this case it will be necessary to convince them that the
-
invitation is sincere. It's not a scam, it's not fake, all right,
-
it's real. They will be shy. People will be shy and modest,
-
like really, you know, inviting me, I don't feel worthy.
-
They will be shy and will hardly believe that they will they shall be welcome.
-
However, for our task we need to be persistent. That's what compel
-
means, persistent, especially to the point of annoyance. So it's Okay,
-
it's okay. If someone say it's up annoying me, it's okay. You're
-
doing the right thing. If the person doesn't say, hey, you're annoying,
-
so something is you need to push up the next gala to compel okay,
-
to be persistent, Be persistent, especially to the point of annoyance.
-
Keward until the points of annoyance with them, and do not leave them till
-
you have prevealed with them. Wow, people, we have something to do
-
this week and for the rest of our lives. Yes, until Jesus comes
-
back. Be persistent, especially to the point of annoyance, until we become
-
so annoying to them, with them, and do not leave them until you
-
have prevealed with them. Because there is still room. Ah here, you
-
can see literally physically with our eyes. There's still a chain next to you.
-
Right, you can see an empty seat. Right, that's still wrong.
-
Hey, that's still room. Okay, So let's invite our friends,
-
right, okay. In almost chapter thirteen, verse eight to eleven, next
-
slide says, oh, no one anything except to love one another, for
-
he who loves another has fulfilled the law. Verse eleven says, and do
-
this, do this means to love someone, to all, no one except
-
to love another. That's why Verse eleven says, and do this knowing the
-
time that now it is high time to awake out of sleep. Another version
-
says, to wake up, wake up right, to awake out our sleep.
-
For now our salvation is nearer than when we first believe, meaning to
-
say, the supper time is almost coming. All right, the time is
-
almost ending, right, and let's continue to do to love, to love
-
those who have who have yet to accept this invitation, and also to love
-
each other. Oh, no one anything except to love one another, for
-
he who loves another fulfill the law. Right. Okay, let's continue back
-
in our last verse, Luke, Chapter fourteen, verse twenty four. For
-
I say to you that none of those men who were invited shall taste my
-
supper. Here is a warning from the Master telling the servant that those people
-
whom I'm invited, who has rejected my invitation, those men who are invited,
-
shall not taste my supper. Hiyo, come on, people, don't
-
be this this group of people, okay, Because grace despised is grace forefitted.
-
I repeat again, grace despised is grace forefitted, meaning to say.
-
For example, For example, you remember the story of Isau. You know
-
his buff Remember he rejected his birth right? Are you you? And he
-
didn't get his birth right at all? Right? This is one example.
-
Another example is the five foolish Virgin and the five wise Virgin. Remember the
-
story where the five foolish Virgin wasn't wise enough to prepare oil. They took
-
it lightly and the door was closed. When the door is closed, the
-
door is closed. Don't regret after that, okay, So of course they
-
were regretting. But yes, don't don't be don't be that lah. Okay,
-
So don't despise God's invitation. God's the grace. Despise is grace forefeitted.
-
However, now is the time of grace. Let's let's let's extend this
-
grace to the rest of the world or the people that's around us. All
-
right, so important because the time is drawing near to an end. Yes,
-
okay, So let me share a story about urgency. My story.
-
Huh hio, urgent urgent story. Urgent story. Okay, there was a
-
okay, so when I was sixteen years old, many years ago or recently,
-
there was a fire that broke out in my house. Okay, I
-
was living in Penang when I was sixteen with my parents. Right, there
-
was a fire that broke out. So how did it all come about?
-
My young So remember I had like three other siblings, right, remember l
-
O. V. E the story. Yeah, So my youngest brother,
-
edmund E, he used to have a pain in his calf muscle at the
-
calf muscle, okay, during rainy and cold season, so he would so
-
he would shine a heater red lamp on his lake to warm up the lake,
-
right, so he would feel better. So but but the instruction to
-
use the lamb is only for ten minutes for health reasons also okay, So
-
this one night at night he was he accidentally used the lamb and he slept
-
with the lamb shining on his scuff muscle and also on a mattress for ten
-
minutes, maybe about half an hour or almost an hour so hot, I
-
don't know, okay. And my elder brother, my elder brother Lincoln,
-
he smelled some rubber fumes. And that time, my youngest brother he was
-
slipping and the door was closed in his room. But from outside, my
-
eldest brother smelled rubber fumes. So he was walking around and thinking where is
-
it coming from? So finally he went into my youngest brother's reward the rubber
-
fumes is all over the room and alerted my dad. My dad quickly turned
-
off the red lamb and took out the mattress outside. It was at night
-
already, so it took out the mattress at night, and you know it
-
was because a rainy season and colo season because it was raining. So my
-
father brought the mattress under the porch you know porch of the and leaned the
-
mattress on the car to let the rubber field. You know, just aired
-
the mattress. Are okay, that's probably logical to do, right, And
-
yeah, so that night we thought, okay, everything's fine. We just
-
aired the room. The rubber fulms out and we could rest. So we
-
all rested. So after going to bed that night, there was a cry
-
by one neighbor from outside the house that our house was on fire. HU
-
for households the fire. My mom was the first to hear the cry.
-
Everyone was dead and sleep already and my mom was the only one who could
-
hear the cry from outside and got us, got everyone up from our sleep
-
and brought us all out of the house safely. The mattress caught fire from
-
the fumes within the mattress and the breeze because that day was also like very
-
breezy, so the breeze actually encouraged the fumes inside and the mattress actually got
-
fired. I remembered it wasn't easy for me to wake up because I was
-
sleeping. It was like late night, ready, like two three am in
-
the morning that night, and it was a weekday night. The next day
-
I have to go to school, so everyone was like sleeping already that night.
-
But due to the urgency of the banging of the door and shouting,
-
right we all woke up. I remember that my dad was trying to put
-
off the fire before the fireman and the truck came. But really, thank
-
God that everyone was safe. Thank God the fire didn't get into the fuel
-
tank of the car because the mattress was leaning on the car that is very
-
near the fuel tank. Right, It was like, WHOA, I can't
-
imagine if that happened, well, we'll have fireworks everywhere, explosion, while
-
I don't know what will happen with us. While really thank God that God
-
saved us. It was really an urgent cry for my mom that woke us
-
all up. And if we did not respond to the cry in time,
-
we wouldn't be alive today. Hah. I tell you this is just a
-
story, okay, yes, or your story of course, yes, And
-
it talks about urgency of time. Imagine if you don't wake up, or
-
if you don't respond immediately, we would have suffered. So in closing,
-
this is just a very quick summary. I hope you have caught something,
-
but if you did not, this is something that you can take home.
-
Right from Luke, chapter fourteen, verse sixteen to twenty four. Next night,
-
ready, the Great Supper is ready. All are invited, right,
-
everyone, yourself included. If you have not responded to this invitation today,
-
the invitation has gone out to you right now, and you can respond shortly
-
later when we have our invitation later. Right, So all our invited,
-
including our family and friends, who have not yet heard about who is this
-
God? Who is this Jesus? Maybe they heard about it, but they
-
don't know deeply enough about it. So that's why it's good to equip ourselves
-
with the word of God and to come to tuition hear more about who this
-
Jesus? Is right and next point quickly, quickly. The Master has instructed
-
us to next light too, bring all and do it in love and quickly,
-
because the supper is ready. Next lighte and to fill his house.
-
Very simple message today. I hope that you have caught something from the Book
-
of Luke chapter fourteen right, and it's so important in our day and time.
-
Right now we are in this time where grace is. Grace is ready
-
for us. It is here and now because this grace will soon be over.
