You're listening to a message to go from acts Church. We hope this message
-
will light up your day. I'm going to a book of Psalms today,
-
Psalms chapter seventy five, Psalm chapter seventy five, all right, and it's
-
about promotion. It's about promotion, all right. Because I was just praying,
-
you know, and say, God, what do you want me to
-
speak, you know, this week? And I kept getting this word,
-
you know, promotion comes from the Lord. Promotion comes from the Lord?
-
Anyone heard this before? Yeah? So then I also thought like, is
-
this really from the Bible or is it one of those words that you know,
-
people make up, you know, like stuff like, for example,
-
God helps those who helps themselves. Anyone heard that? For God helps those
-
who help themself. It's not in the Bible. Theys not in a Bible,
-
all right? So so this was ok, yeah, who made this
-
up? Right? And then I started to search and study, and then
-
I realized that the exact words, you know, I mean in my Bible,
-
I mean, the version I have it doesn't say those words Promotion comes
-
from the Lord. Doesn't have those exact words. But in a way,
-
it is true. Promotion does come from God. All right, so let's
-
see how it's a said all right in Psalm seventy five. Now, so
-
I just sorted to talk about promotion for a while. Okay, promotion.
-
So when you talk about promotion, you kind of I mean, in these
-
days, if we understand it as like, you know, you're in a
-
job, you get promoted, you know, maybe a new position that comes
-
to an extra perks or you know benefit, something like that. Promotion one
-
now you're a manager or something, right or supervisor you become you know,
-
you get a new position. All right. So yeah, but I guess
-
promotion, how we can think of it is is like the next level,
-
the next level a form of success, right. Yeah. And so but
-
when I think about promotion from the Bible, we can think of a few
-
names, right, So I thought of Joseph, Right, Joseph he got
-
a dream, right, and he was going to be that he was going
-
to be this guy over the brothers, and the brothers didn't like him,
-
beat him up, threw him, sold him off. Then he read a
-
jail you know, long story short, you know, way to jail because
-
of some accusation. And so now like hey, like where's what happened to
-
my dream. But eventually he got promoted to be the leader of Egypt,
-
right, I mean just under Pharaoh. So that's promotion, and promotion comes
-
with a lot of work, doesn't it. So now, yeah, promoted,
-
but he has a long work to do, right, Okay, although
-
he didn't work his way, he didn't work his way to be promoted,
-
right, contrary to many of our own popular belief we've got to work our
-
way up to the you know, up the ladder to be promoted. But
-
then this guy didn't even right, he wasn't working in a sense to his
-
way up. It was supernatural, right, God put him in the position
-
because God prepared him. But yes, there was preparation, and so then
-
he was a leader. So there's one promotion I can think of. The
-
other promotion I can think of is king David, King David, right,
-
shepherd boy, right, it's just a kid. All of a sudden,
-
some prophet comes to him and says he's going to be king, just this
-
kid right now. Of course he you know, had some times, I
-
had some time before he became a king. So he also went through preparation.
-
But there's a promotion right from shepherd boy to king that's definitely promotion.
-
Uh. And of course one more person that I can think of is Daniel,
-
Daniel, and uh, you know, we will talking about Daniel because
-
it's from the book of Daniel that we get heaven rules. Amen. Uh.
-
And uh so in chapter two of Daniel, Uh, I think it
-
was the time when uh, you know, Shaderick Micheg and a bet Nigo
-
was also there and so Daniel I was just reading it basically he yeah,
-
it was the interpretation of the dream. So the king had a dream.
-
And the king called the wise man who was you know, all these big
-
time people, and said, tell tell me the dream, tell me it.
-
Interpret my dream. But he didn't tell the dream. He said,
-
interpret the dream. But I didn't tell the dream. And so the wise
-
guys were like, okay, okay, tell us the dream, then we
-
can interpret. And the king said like, no, you tell me what
-
dream I had and like, oh, it's scary. If not, you're
-
all dead. Wow. So he was really serious, you know about that,
-
And so they back and forth with him, and so still say no,
-
no, no, it's very difficult what you're asking. You know,
-
you you you, of course you have to tell us the dream. For
-
us, then we can give you interpretation, all right. And so in
-
the end, you know, Daniel was the one who was able to share
-
the dream because he said, you know, okay, give me some time,
-
let me pray, and then God revealed to him the dream, and
-
so he was able to tell the king what dream he had and also interpret
-
it. Let me tell you that it is supernatural, amen, that is
-
that's really heaven. Heaven rules, amen. So he was able to do
-
that, and so he also saved the people from being killed the wise men,
-
you know, and I want to say, you know, that's what
-
we all can do as well. Will save many lives as you allow Heaven
-
to rule in our lives, do the impossible, you know, be able
-
to tell people's stuff that you're not supposed to be able to say. But
-
it's not your strength. It's God, a man who will give you and
-
reveal to you. And then he interpreted. And you know what, at
-
the end of chapter two, it says that Daniel got a promotion and right
-
to take a higher office. And you know what, Daniel was not selfish.
-
He said, hey, don't just give me a promotion, give my
-
friends a promotion to shared Michig and a batany goo, and they all got
-
promotions. All right, So again, this promotion comes from God. I
-
want us all to remember that because you know, the world tells us many
-
different things about getting promotion. The world tells us any different things about getting
-
a pay raise, you know, about getting a better position. But let's
-
understand this, it comes from God. I'm not saying you can't self promote
-
in a way meaning people can do self promotion, but your self promotion I
-
don't think it will last. It may not last because then you have to
-
sustain your self promotion with your own strength, which is very tiring. All
-
right, let God do the promotion because he knows the time that you should
-
be promoted. If you're not promoted yet, be patient, maybe because God
-
still wants you to learn something that's something you have not learned yet. And
-
he's saying, wait, son, wait, daughter, I want you to
-
learn this thing. You gotta learn this. I'm teaching you something, so
-
don't rush it. But the time will come. I will give you the
-
promotion because I know that you're ready for it. Amen. Amen, Now
-
let's let's again into it. I'm going to hit a little bit ready,
-
but now Psalm seventy five. Let's look at how chapter seventy five talks about
-
promotion. So, okay, this is a song written by this guy called
-
Asaf. Asaf all right, he was the songwriter in that time, all
-
right. And you know, I'm learning a lot even from songwriters or the
-
Bible. They don't simply use words just to rhyme, just to sound cool
-
and trendy, just to have a beat, you know, a rhythm and
-
make it sound cool. And for the gen z, you know, for
-
the gen z. Right, it's not just to be relevant, you know.
-
But they're speaking the truth and the word of God as they write the
-
songs. They're not just trying to write stuff for fun and creativity. It
-
is to speak truth, all right. So let's see how they write songs.
-
And so songwriters in the house let's learn from this as well, any
-
songwriters in the house. Okay, man, me too, I try okay,
-
all right, all right, all right, here we go Verse one.
-
We give thanks to You or God, We give thanks for your name
-
is near. We recount your wondrous deeds. So we pause here for a
-
while. Let's look at some of the words highlighted here give thanks. So
-
he starts here with this af is saying. And you know it's interesting.
-
He writes it, we give thanks. He's writing for the congregation to sing
-
this song, and he wants everyone to remember that we need to start with
-
giving thanks, all right. And it's not just giving thanks, not just
-
being thankful because you're thankful to what, thankful to who? Right, it's
-
thankful to God, giving thanks to God for what see in our world.
-
We give thanks to people, we say thanks when they've done something for us,
-
all right, But this is not the case. It says, here,
-
give thanks for your name is near. I thank you Lord, just
-
because you are here with me. I thank you Lord because of your presence
-
in my life. How many of us here have been thankful for that before?
-
Thank you Lord that you are God with us. Thank you Lord that
-
you are with me. You know why, because many other under people who
-
understand God, they understand God as someone who is far away. He's somewhere
-
up there, his house is there, somewhere. He doesn't want to come
-
and touch us because you know, we're unworthy, and we've got to shout
-
and cry out really loud for God to hear us. That's the majority of
-
people who understand God that he's not near you. He's not watching you all
-
the time. He's just far somewhere up there. And that's why people fall
-
into sin easily, because they don't think God is there looking at what you're
-
doing, all right, just like what person were sharing last week, right,
-
God is just there whatever you're doing, whatever you're going through his days,
-
he actually sees it all all right. And we're thinking we can hide
-
from him, but no, God is near. And so instead of being
-
afraid that God is near, we should be thankful that God is near because
-
he's not here to catch everything you do. He knows really what you're doing
-
and what you're going to do. But and he loves you. He loves
-
us. That's the best thing about our God. He loves us. And
-
so even if he's near, even though he has all the power to destroy
-
and judge us, he's merciful and he loves us. So that's beautiful.
-
And man, I thank you Lord that you are merciful. So thank God
-
for his presence that is here with us. Amen. He's a God who's
-
near, not like other you know how other people understand God who's far away,
-
who's distant. He's not here with us. But our God is near,
-
and of course we remember his deeds. So we move on the next
-
light and the next light says here. So the first secret for promotion.
-
You want promotion? Who wants to be promoted? Who wants to be the
-
next level? Yeah? Be honest. Yeah, even business people can be
-
promoted, all right. Your business can be promoted, promoted to many people,
-
so they come, people will come and buy your stuff. Promoted to
-
the next level, all right, of your business, one shop to the
-
next shop to the right. You're doing business, all right? You want
-
promotion? First secret is to be thankful, and not just thankful, but
-
thankful to God. And not only just I mean not just thankful to Up,
-
but because thank God that he's near, not because of just the things
-
that he do, but because he's with you. His presence is here.
-
Amen, for who he is. And then of course we remember what he
-
has done, all right. When we remember what God has done, uh,
-
then we remember who he is. All right. He has provided,
-
He has healed us, He has saved us from our sin. He has
-
he has given us so much mercy, all right and grace. He's given
-
us his Holy spirit. Amen. He has died on the cross for us,
-
his son Jesus. So we're thankful to God. So the first secret
-
you want promotion, first thing, let's be thankful. Let's be thankful to
-
God. Okay, let me talk about thankfulness a little bit. So because
-
you know, a lot of things are are not right? Lie, all
-
right, there a lot of a lot of things that that we can complain
-
about. Right. You can complain about church, you can complain about work.
-
How many of you you have a lot of things to complain about your
-
work. I didn't say your complaining and you have a lot. You're like,
-
ah, there's so much things to complain about your work, about school,
-
about your college. I only hear your college. You have a lot
-
of things to complain h whoa so good? H Wow? Whoa holding back?
-
Uh? Yeah, obviously I know. So I go to your college
-
and I know what to complain. Right. How do you have a lot
-
of complain about our country? God? Ah, God, your country?
-
Huh? Those who are not from this country, you've got things to complain
-
about, Yes, for sure, came up pretty. There's a lot of
-
things right that is not right right and can go wrong. But you know
-
the cure, or rather the counter to complaints is being thankful. When you're
-
thankful, it's very hard to complain. Right, When you're thankful, it's
-
hard to complain. I thank you Lord that I can even study this course.
-
Not the best cost, but I'm studying a course. Other people,
-
the many people who want to study, they're not study, they're not able
-
to study. We are here. There's enough money to pay for that cost.
-
You know, it's very expensive to pay for university nowadays. Right.
-
I'm worried now in a way my kids growing up, how to send them,
-
you know, But you know, God is good. There's so many
-
things to complain, right, you know, the job that you're doing now,
-
Yes, a lot of things complain your colleagues. I wish I had
-
angels for my colleague, right, but obviously not right. But thank God
-
I have a job. Thank God I'm working. Thank God my boss is
-
paying me all right, So I mean, I mean, I'm sure there
-
are some things that are not you know, maybe your boss paying you late
-
or not paying you. I don't know, all right, No one,
-
you you you you can. I pray that you know God will lead you
-
and have wisdom. But being thankful will help you to control the complaints.
-
Amen, So secret number one is that. And you know, and when
-
you're thankful, when you're when you when you cut down your complaints, you're
-
happier, You're happier, go to work happier. You know. I mean,
-
as a person who is in leadership in a workplace, when I see
-
a person coming in and they're they're smiling a bit more, I want to
-
raise their pay, you know, I feel I want to give them more
-
more position, you know, I want I can trust them. But you
-
come in and then you're suspicious and I and I then when you're going side
-
with your colleague, like boss, you know, like I can I can
-
hear all these things. You know, I can see, I can read
-
you know, your boss can read you. They're reading you all the time.
-
Okay you thought they don't know? Okay, right, so huh your
-
promotion your boss? You all right, you're you're happy, you're not complaining.
-
When you're not complaining, you know, it's easier to talk to your
-
boss. When you're complaining about a person. It's hard to talk about to
-
that person. Ah, you say so much bout your boss really are when
-
you see the persona your face will be like yeah, what they say about
-
you, like boss, and your trust is gone. But when you when
-
your complain is controlled and you're thankful, you're happy, you come to your
-
boss clean, you know, like, hey, boss, how are you?
-
You know? You actually care? And a boss they are human as
-
well. Okay they will see right, Bosses in the house. Bosses in
-
the house, those who are yeah right, yeah right, all right,
-
they're human is all. They also got alive. They're also going through stuff.
-
Okay, all right, come, let's move on next. At the
-
sad time that I appoint, I will judge with equity. Right when the
-
earth totters and all the inhabitants, it is I who keeps steady. It's
-
pillars, right, a few words I highlighted there a point equity keep steady.
-
Now, it is God who set the time, like I said earlier.
-
He knows when you're ready. He knows when you're prepared, all right,
-
and he will give it to you. He appoints it, and then
-
it's fair equity. Right. He knows what you can handle, like I
-
said, if you're not there yet, maybe he allows it so that there's
-
something for you to be trained on, to be learned, to be learning
-
for now, because when the thing suddenly comes at you, you may not
-
be able to handle it and you might explode instead. All right, so
-
allow God. Trust God for his timing. Look at Joseph, he was
-
in jail, he was sold to slavery. Really looks like a nightmare.
-
You know, measure yourself being in that situation. You would have given up
-
all hope. I thought I had a dream I'm supposed to be this,
-
this, and that. Suddenly I'm in his slave, Suddenly I'm in prison.
-
It's hard. It's hard to hope. But let's think about that.
-
You see, God has planned it all from start to end and her points.
-
And then the time will come. Your promotion will come. Come.
-
Tell your neighbor that your promotion will come, will come. Trust God,
-
Trust God. Right, the promotion will come. Hey, the promotion may
-
not be in the form of what you expected it la Maybe it's not the
-
position you wanted. Lae, all right. Maybe God wants you to go
-
full time be a pastor. Then promotion, Lae, all right, I'm
-
talking about to also, like you know, something ministry or so we want
-
you know, we want this, we want that for ministry. But God
-
alsho knows that where your heart is and how he wants to promote you.
-
Amen, hallelujah. All right, and then keep steady. What does this
-
mean? So let's go to the slights. Okay. Secret number two got
-
the points at the right time his time. Amen. Amen. All right,
-
hey amen, is he's still good at in this church? Amen?
-
Yes, it's for you to speak to your spirit when you say amen,
-
say yes you know, spirit man. The flesh doesn't like what I'm hearing,
-
but the spirit man. Amen. All right, that's what we're doing
-
here. Hallelujah. Yeah, yeah, Okay. Through difficult changes, he
-
holds it together, meaning you know when you are appointed and when you when
-
you are appointed to the next level. Mengine Joseph getting Prime minister. You
-
think it was quite scary, scary suddenly you're this guy who has to manage
-
everything. You think about it right, all the work that you need to
-
do, it can get to you. But through the difficult changes, that's
-
what the verse is saying here, he holds it together. He will help
-
you get through it. Right. So if you are when you are promoted,
-
it may be a bigger thing. He will help you go through the
-
changes and hold it together. He keeps it steady. He is the one
-
who keeps it steady. Amen, So continue to trust him to help you
-
get through when the promotion comes. Amen. Okay, we move on right
-
now, we're gonna do it. Verse two the five right. But verse
-
four here I say to the boastful, do not boast, and to the
-
wicked, do not lift up your horn. Do not lift up your horn
-
on high or speak with haughty neck. Some of your version will say stiff
-
necked, stiff neck. You've heard that before, stiff neck people. Sometimes
-
is the Israelites I called the stiff necked people. But what does that mean?
-
The ixt thing of stiff neck I think of, you know, the
-
times you wake up wrongly, you lie on and a very painful That's like
-
I have a stiff muscle. But that's not really what it means. Okay.
-
I always thought it was that. I thought it was like a painful,
-
you know, pain in the neck. I thought God is saying you're
-
a in the neck. But then I learned it up a little bit.
-
Oh, okay, I understand this a bit more. It means, you
-
know, like an animal that's supposed to follow the farmer right, but it
-
doesn't want to follow so it pulls back with a stiff neck, you know,
-
pull back, and then the farmer has come, come, and it's
-
like, no, I want to go the other way. That's a stiff
-
neck. So stubbornness and not wanting to follow, that's what it means.
-
Okay, So anyway we move on, We move on. Okay, So
-
just a secret number one, secret number two. Then warning now is warning?
-
Okay, warning number one to the boastful? What is that? Okay?
-
What is boastful? When we are boastful, we boast about what we
-
have. We boast about what's great about ourselves. That is what the world
-
does, right from promotion. Boast about your achievements. This is what I
-
studied. WHOA. So should you still study? Yes, study, but
-
your study has a different purpose. It is not to do self promotion.
-
Okay, study because you need to learn. You're learning. But when you
-
try to achieve this and that for self promotion, that's another story. All
-
right. So the Bible wants us don't boast about how clever you are.
-
Don't boast about your skills. Right, We're not looking down on skills.
-
Please get all the skills you need, please do right. We need to
-
be skilled people to be able to serve God. You need to be skilled
-
to be able to help other people, all right, So please be skilled.
-
Be a good whatever, a lawyer, debate, whatever, all the
-
skill that you need. Be a good you know, good in your house
-
work, right, cooking your art, okay, be a good doctor,
-
be good whatever. Okay, be good skills. But it's not for you
-
to boast. Tell your neighbor, not for you to boast. Okay,
-
right. I remember I was speaking the last time, and I was talking
-
about the pharisees, that some of the Pharisees are pharisees because of their education,
-
because they learn the law of God, and so they use that and
-
go like, now I'm a qualified pharisee, so I can have I have
-
all my papers, I've studied the Bible and everything, and so therefore I
-
should be a pharisee. So this is the danger, I know, can
-
be a little bit of a what's the word controversial because many leaders and pastors,
-
right, and I also thought that we did one time, that we
-
should have our Bible study degree. Then I'm qualified to be a pastor,
-
qualified to be a pastor. Who qualifies that, who qualifies that does God,
-
ask for a Bible degree, paper, show me, show me then,
-
only then you can be pastor. It's not God, no, it
-
is man who looks for it. It's man who looks for papers and degrees
-
and achievements. I'm not saying don't go to the Bible school. Please study
-
your Bible. Right, you can study your Bible. Bibusch who helps you
-
study the Bible? All right? But that's the thing in the Pharisees were
-
scholars, supposedly, and they posted of their achievements to be a Pharisee,
-
right, Jesus had no. I don't think he did any formal education in
-
the sense of a you know, the law school, all right, So
-
then should he be then should he be then the leader? Right? So
-
achievements, skills, it's all there for you to learn. Please study,
-
please, you know, work hard, study well and get your a's.
-
Okay, But it's not for us to boast. Amen, it's not for
-
us to boast. And uh now next morning, first warning, don't boast
-
of your achievements. Move on oneing number two to the wicked, those who
-
are hostile to God. Wickedness means those who are against God. All right,
-
how are we against God? How are people against God? You know,
-
it's actually as simple as this. When we don't believe, when we
-
don't believe, that is the beginning of going against God. All right.
-
It doesn't have to be It doesn't have to look like a person pointing a
-
gun at God and shouting and you know, showing an angry face at God.
-
It starts with I don't believe. I don't believe in what is this?
-
You know, the Bible says, I don't believe in what God says.
-
So I'm gonna do my own thing, all right, and this includes
-
Christians is in it, all right. Where we don't trust, that we
-
don't believe, is the beginning of turning away. And that's hostility to God,
-
all right, because when we keep going that way, then we'll get
-
into anger. Then we'll get into you know, why, God, you
-
do this. I don't trust you, I don't believe, I doubt because
-
you have done this to me. Wow, Suddenly you're blaming God. Suddenly
-
you're saying it's God's fault. And so from one small little unbelief it can
-
turn into now now God, you have done this to me. Now it
-
goes into blame, right, It can turn to that. What I'm saying
-
is, watch it, all right, be careful. Hostility to God?
-
Is it begins from unbelief? Amen? So let's not be wicked, all
-
right, Let's not be wicked and go against God, against his word.
-
Let's obey his word instead. Amen. Okay, only number three those who
-
rebel against God. Okay. The raising of the horns, right, it
-
says that if you're still in your Bible, Chapter twenty five, verse what
-
is this? Is it? Verse four four? Verse four that says this,
-
all right? Raising of horns? What is that? The horn represents
-
strength? You know, the horns of the bull they use. Have you
-
seen those videos are the lion versus the bullwoe? Love? Those videos are
-
right, lion versus the bull. Wow, you're thinking that's it, Like
-
the lion always win. But you know the bull when he goes down like
-
that with his horns, the lion runs, you know, And I've seen
-
those, you know, some videos of the bull chasing the lion and actually
-
goring them. Okay, so the lines are actually really careful with bulls and
-
their horns is a very powerful weapon. And so the horn represents strength.
-
But this one raising their horn up high is saying it's against God, you
-
know, saying to God, we have strength, we don't need you.
-
We have strength, we can come against you. It's rebelling against God,
-
all right. So when we boast of our strength, when we you know,
-
rely on our own strength instead of God, we are saying God,
-
I don't need you. I can rely on myself. I can self promote
-
and I can get there myself. All right. Of course it can work,
-
it can. I'm not saying it can't work because a lot of people
-
who have gotten there by self self strength. You know, some people say
-
it's I'm a self made man. Right, I did it. There's a
-
song I did it my way sounds. I love that song, A nice
-
tune, nice tune. But every time I hear it go, we shouldn't
-
do it our way? Right, okay, Sartah, So you love that
-
song. It's a nice tune. There's a nice tune, nice voice,
-
Frank Sinatra. Ah. But anyway, doing it away saying I'm a seb
-
met man, I own success. That's that's showing God, you know,
-
God, I don't need you. Next, raising of hants, I see
-
right, Raising up the haunts is raising up the head you know, okay,
-
moving on morning number four, those who are arrogant towards God and people
-
what I uh mentioned earlier, stiff necked? All right, So especially we're
-
talking about arrogance towards God's stubbornness towards God. When God tells us something,
-
all right, When God instructs us, do we follow or does he have
-
to keep pulling us and goes like come and you're like, no, give
-
me, I want to go this way? The stiff neck right there?
-
There you go? All right? So are we stubborn? Are we arrogant
-
to what God is saying to us? All right? We hear the theme
-
Heaven rules towards the finishing line, all right? Twenty twenty four, So
-
that all may know that's the word. All right. The Lord wants us
-
to share the good news to many more people. Are we going to follow
-
his instructions to make disciples of all nations? It's not just a pretty word
-
in the Bible. It's actually God's instruction to us make disciples, make disciples,
-
all right. Don't worry. Some of us are like, actually,
-
I don't know what that means. Actually, how do we make disciples?
-
That's a good place you're you're asking ask the question, how do I make
-
disciples? How can I make disciples? How can I share the good news
-
some more to one more person today? Good to ask the question and think
-
about it, all right. Don't say that's not for me, that's for
-
someone else to do. It's for all of us who believe in Jesus,
-
who believe in the world of God, the Bible, everyone who believes.
-
Instead of unbelief, instead of going against, we actually need to obey.
-
We need to follow. Amen. So let's not pull back, all right,
-
and God, have you pull your neck, But let's go with our
-
shepherd. Let's go with our shepherd. He's a good chef. But tell
-
your neighbor he's good. He's good. God is good. He loves us
-
a man, and that's why it's worth following him. It's easy to follow
-
him actually, because he loves us, and we can always turn back to
-
that love, and we can always go cry out to God when we feel
-
difficult, cry out to him, call out to him. He will comfort
-
us. All right. Yesterday we heard it aldo quite interesting another pingle say
-
the Holy Spirit is our comforter. But when we follow him, it's not
-
comfortable. Yeah right, all for all of us here, all believe us
-
the Holy Spirit is a comforter. But when we follow him, it's not
-
comfortable, all right. He's not here to make us comfortable. But when
-
we go through hard times, he's our comforter. Amen, Harlee lujah.
-
All right, moving on, So four warnings there. Then we go back
-
to six and seven. For not from the east or from the west,
-
and not from the wilderness comes lifting up. Okay, there's another word.
-
Maybe some of your Bible say promotion, all right, lifting up. But
-
it is God who executes judgment, putting down one and lifting up another.
-
So that's where it comes from. Lifting up means promotion, all right.
-
God promotes this way, and then he also demotes putting down. He also
-
puts down those who are not well that he plans for, all right.
-
In his plan, he's the one who plans it. Who goes down,
-
who goes up, He is the judge. All right. So let's let's
-
break it down a little bit. What is this not from the east,
-
west, all wilderness, But it is God who executes putting down and lifting
-
up. Next slide here, So secret number three. Promotion does not come
-
from looking to people all right, what does that mean? East and west
-
is looking to the left and the right and the people at that time,
-
you know, the people of God at the time. They sometimes look to
-
the countries or the people who was in the east for help, and sometimes
-
they look to the people in the west for help. And that means they're
-
they're depending on human strength, right, instead of seeking God. When they're
-
in trouble, they sometimes said, can you help me, neighbor? Hey,
-
can you help me neighbor? All right, nothing wrong with getting help
-
from neighbor. But the problem is their neighbors don't follow God. Ah.
-
That's where it becomes problems. Their neighbors worshiped other gods, all right,
-
uh, and and there they don't they don't trust in God are God?
-
And so it became like, now I'm looking for help from this person and
-
that person. And so listen, your promotion will not come from you looking
-
to people. Right. If you think you can buy more lunch for your
-
boss to help you get promotion, don't depend on that. Please do buy
-
lunch for your boss. It's okay, nothing wrong with that, but don't
-
because you want promotion you buy lunch. Ah, that's bribe. It's called
-
bribes. Okay, So it's okay. You can always be kind to people,
-
all right, but don't use it for your promotion, all right.
-
So you have to be clear in your heart because when you do that,
-
it's very obvious when you're buying just because your promotion. Then you don't get
-
promotion, and you stop right that you're angry. You know the lunch I
-
bought? Now, why do you give me promotion? Okay? The boss
-
didn't even know that you were doing that. Okay, So so all right,
-
not by looking to people, not by getting human help that you get
-
promotion, all right. You don't get success from depending on human help.
-
Okay, It's okay. When you have problem, you can get help,
-
definitely. I'm not saying you can't get help, But don't depend on humans,
-
but depend on God for your success. Okay. Now moving on,
-
but number four, it's not surprising when promotion comes. All right. I'm
-
taking this from the word wilderness. Okay, it's not from the wilderness out
-
of nowhere, right, So you know what I mean by this is if
-
you are surprised that promotion came, then maybe you shouldn't take that promotion because
-
you're totally not ready for it. Okay, but it's not surprising when you
-
are given a promotion because you know you've been you've been you've been doing the
-
work. You know, you've been trusting God, and so when it comes
-
you're ready for it. I mean, maybe you're not fully ready, you're
-
like you're still going like, oh now there's more work, but I'll take
-
it up. There's faith, there's faith to be able to go forth and
-
take it on. So right, huh, think about that when when suddenly
-
a promotion comes to you are super shocked, bright, maybe you should maybe
-
maybe I shouldn't take it up because you're totally not ready for it. But
-
if you have the faith to be able to take it up, you know
-
God, you've been praying, and God gives it to you, then by
-
faith, do it, don't do it by fear. Amen. So moving
-
on. Number five, Promotion and emotion comes from God. So promotion comes
-
from God. That's what we've been talking about. Promotion comes from the Lord.
-
Don't trust anyone else to be able to give you promotion, but trust
-
God alone. He's the one who gives us success. Look to him and
-
he will help us. Amen. Now anymore? All right? For in
-
the head of the Lord. There is a cup with foaming wine, well
-
mixed, and he pours out from it, and all the wicked of the
-
earth shall drain it down to the dregs. Interesting verse this one, all
-
right, what does it mean? So I highlighted the words there foaming wine.
-
Okay, I'm not gonna agree your wines are so I don't know what
-
fully like, how how wine foams? Okay, but it's well mixed,
-
okay, and all the wicked of the earth shall drain it down to the
-
dregs. What is dregs? So I had to look at the dictionary.
-
Bit dregs means the bottom of the wine until the end of the wine,
-
the remainder, so that the will be drunk until the bottom finish the draw
-
and dried up okay, meaning the punishment the Lord has prepared for the wicked
-
ones. All right. So this is what goes back to vengeance belongs to
-
God. So you don't have to worry if you've been mistreated, all right,
-
you've been treated wickedly. Don't take your own revenge. God has prepared
-
this for the enemy, all right, for those who have been against him,
-
who have been wicked all right. He has given a lot of chances
-
and they don't turn. God has a well prepared foaming cup of wine to
-
be poured out, and he will make sure it is until the end of
-
it. He will they will drink it. Okay, right, right,
-
Okay, why speak like that because some of us are so angry with some
-
people who have offended you, attacked you. But please, you know,
-
let that go, forgive because it's not your job to take revenge. It's
-
not your job to punish and judge because your judgment is not good enough.
-
Your punishment is not good. God's punishment will be the ultimate one. So
-
let it. Let God do it. Amen? So why why? Because
-
for me when I when I read this, I can have peace. I
-
don't have to worry about the part of taking doing punishment on people because I
-
know God will do that. He is the one and he's the one who
-
can, who's able to uh, He's the one qualified in a sense to
-
do that. Amen. Now we move on. Now you see what is
-
the so final warning. God has prepared the ultimate judgment for the wicked,
-
so we don't have to worry about that. Okay, we can have peace
-
and they will be forced to drink it all down to the dregs. That's
-
what it means. And then final the final secret. All right, this
-
is the last part. Okay, everyone doing okay, is the last part
-
of chapter seventy five. But I will declare it forever. I will sing
-
praises to the God of Jacob. All the haunts of the wicked I will
-
cut off, but the haunts of the righteous shall be lifted up. Okay,
-
So the few words there declare forever, sing praises wicked I will cut
-
off and righteous shall be lifted up. What does that mean? So the
-
final secret is be faithful to God. Let's be faithful to God, it
-
says, declare forever. What does that mean when you declare God and his
-
goodness? Is it just for one day? It's not just one day,
-
It's not just Sunday. It is not just until I'm forty, but forever,
-
meaning this person is faithful. I always declare about God. I always
-
declare God's goodness when I was young, when I was in the middle,
-
and when I'm old, I continue to declare. Okay, can you imagine
-
pass Julian leading worship still at seventy five eighty here? Yeah, of course,
-
he himself can imagine that, yeah, one hundred maybe whoa still there?
-
Okay, maybe doing other things now, but you know, still worshiping
-
God, still declaring, you know, can you can you imagine yourself doing
-
that? How many of us declare forever? Until you reach heaven, you're
-
still declaring, right, because that's where we ultimately still continue to declare God's
-
goodness and who he is. Give glory to God, all right, Give
-
glory to God for all that, all the achievements, all the success that
-
you get, all the a's that you get. B us Okay, all
-
right, see you're so still okay, all right, give glory to God.
-
Thank you Lord. I gotta see all right, Thank you Lord.
-
I passed, Thank you Lord. I failed. It's okay. I will
-
learn from this. It's okay, all right, I will learn from this.
-
Right, don't be so depressed. Don't put yourself down because you fail
-
because you know, or pick yourself up line, you know, look to
-
God, let him pick you up and trust him and say, God,
-
I humble myself. Sorry, I failed. I need to learn something here,
-
all right, and give glory to him. Be faithful, Give glory
-
the wicked who exhalt themselves will be put to shame, right, the wicked
-
meaning those who have promoted themselves, those who are promoted themselves. You know,
-
many times when you promote yourself, there's a lot of things that are
-
also controversial, right when you promote yourself. It's kind of like like,
-
for example, you know when I when I write songs, I write write
-
songs that we want to record it. Then when it comes the time to
-
you know, where we have to choose the vocalist. Choose the vocalist.
-
That's like the main guy, isn't it the main vocalist? And many times
-
I wrote the song and I want to choose myself. I want to sing
-
this song. I want to be the singer of this song. And so
-
when it's recorded, everybody hears me and I get famous. That's the natural
-
thinking, you know, flashly thinking I know one of the songs I'm singing.
-
But okay, but that's natural. But that's the self promotion, all
-
right. But not to say that if I do it is I'm always self
-
promoting that okay, all right? At that time there was no one else
-
I saw. I sang it like you. But I always try to think
-
who can I put on as the vocalist, all right, to sing this
-
song, to carry the song, to bring them the meaning of the song.
-
Well, so we don't sim please choose anyone or so just okay,
-
just give a chance to someone to sing the song. No, no,
-
we try to put a person who you know, it's difficult to choose a
-
singer for a worship song because because we are thinking like will this person still
-
be around in like five years time or in ten just stuff like suddenly the
-
person backslide or or you know, like angry or whatever suddenly then you know,
-
and and scenes or falls in cine whatever, and then you're like and
-
the song is there in Spotify and you're hearing the voice like okay. So
-
there are some processors that go to our mind where we go like who is
-
going to carry the song? Right? It's not easy, it's not easy,
-
all right, So we pray we always get the right we always make
-
the right choice. But anyway, what I'm saying is this, whenever I
-
do that self promote, it feels a bit like, ah, should I
-
be doing this? All right? There's some kind of a conviction, you
-
know, telling you, hey, don't don't self promote, don't self promote.
-
It actually looks bad. It looks bad on you to self promote,
-
especially when you're a bustard. Right, you have the same feeling right when
-
you do self promotion, kind of like strange, right, But when you
-
promote someone else, when you talk and compliment, someone else feels better.
-
All right. So yeah, I think there's a reason for it because I
-
think we were made not to promote ourselves. We were made to allow God
-
to promote us, right, and we promote God. We promote God right
-
and allow him to promote us. So the same thing here. The wicked,
-
who exalt themselves will be put to shame, the righteous will be exalted.
