  1. You're listening to a message to go from axt church. We hope this message

  2. will light up your day. Today. We're gonna talk about pray. Yeah,

  3. okay. I was asking God, God, what title, what tongueay?

  4. What amazing title should I give for today? I was praying, God,

  5. what is it? You know? Everybody have very nice, fancy title.

  6. I'm my God, prayer, prayer, Okay, prayer. I was

  7. prayer, prayer. I was thinking until the very last minute, even this

  8. morning, God was the title. Was the title? Okay, prayer,

  9. prayer, prayer. It shall be all right. So because God has been

  10. speaking to me even throughout the entire man from December till now, there's so

  11. many occasions that God reminds me that actually prayer is very important. And I

  12. really believe this is the word of God, even for this season, even

  13. this Sunday, this week. I do not know each one of your situations

  14. in your personal lives. I believe God wants to remind us as a church

  15. also to continue to present in prayer. A very good example is prety last

  16. testimony as well. Thank you so much. I thought that testimony is like

  17. a great testimony to end the preaching and yeah, let's pray. You know,

  18. every prayer really does contribute to what God is going to do. Okay,

  19. so let's not give up. Okay, let's let's read. Okay,

  20. And and very funny thing is next light God led me to this First Semuel

  21. chapter seventeen about David and Goliath. Okay, a bit funky on the on

  22. the fhons, but yeah, David and Goliath. David with capital d's and

  23. Goliath with all small letters. Okay, but the font size is different.

  24. Okay, there is a reason David and Goliath. Wow. When I was

  25. preparing this message, I said, God, I don't know how prayer and

  26. David and Golia are going to a link, but let's go. Let's let

  27. the Holy Spirit lead us even as we open His word today. So if

  28. you have your Bibles or your digital Bibles, your physical you can turn to

  29. First Samuel chapter seventeen. Okay, it's a long passage, so Holy Spirit

  30. shall lead us through all right. Okay, let's go in verse one,

  31. right, it says here, First Semul chapter seventeen, Verse one. Now

  32. the Philistines gathered their armies together to battle and were gathered at Sukkoth, which

  33. belongs to Judah, they and camp between Sukkoth and Azekah in Hefe's Damim verse

  34. two, and Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together, and they

  35. encamped in the valley of Elah and drew up in battle array against the Philistines.

  36. All right. So next, like you see a map, right,

  37. okay, So if you can see the map, I shall come here so

  38. you can see this is like Bethlehem, right, and this is the Gaza

  39. strip which is occupied by the Philistines. Then during the David and Goliath time,

  40. right, and this is a zoom in this This is a zoom in

  41. of this place, right, and in this area you can see the Israelites

  42. are camping here and the Philistines are camping here. All right. This is

  43. going to be the battleground in between. And in fact, this place where

  44. the Israelites are camping is actually on a small hill. And this site as

  45. well is on a small hill where the Philistines are camping, and in between

  46. them is a valley. The valley's name is called Ella Ella, the Valley

  47. of Ella. So always remember what happens at the Valley of Ella is the

  48. battle between David and Goliath. Okay, so if ever you go visit,

  49. you know, Jerusalem in Israel, I believe some of you guys will have

  50. a tour there. They will bring you there. Okay. You can also

  51. go on YouTube. There was a documentary about it the okay. So that's

  52. that's this place, all right. And Bethlehem is on this side. This

  53. is where David is. He traveled to to He traveled to the Value of

  54. Ella to meet his brothers. Later we will read about it, okay,

  55. So just a summary. Also at the end, I'm like breaking all the

  56. the fun but anyway, everybody knows the story, right, So so what

  57. happened is at the end of the day, David won and he chased all

  58. the physics in all the way from the Value of Ella all the way to

  59. God. And Kron is very far five km maybe not as big as long

  60. as a marathon, but it's actually very far, okay. So can you

  61. can imagine they were like chasing all the way. Okay, So just remember

  62. this map while we continue to read. All right, let's continue verse two,

  63. okay, all right? Then verse s three. The Philistines stood on

  64. a mountain on one side, and the Israel and Israel stood on a mountain

  65. on the other side, with a valley between them was four And a champion

  66. went out from the camp of the Philistines named Goliath and from Garth, whose

  67. height was six cubits and a span Okay, And he had a bronze helmet

  68. and on his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail.

  69. And the weight of the court was five thousand shackles of bronze. And he

  70. had bronze armor on his legs, bronze javelin between his shoulders. Yeah.

  71. Now the stuff of his spear was like the weaver's beam, and his irons

  72. ye hate weighed six hundred sheckles, and shield bearer was when before him.

  73. Right, So this is a description of the enemy fully armed. Okay.

  74. The verse in verse four says a champion Okay, I search a champion means

  75. in this case, is actually one who fights alone, single handedly representing his

  76. nation. If warring nations agreed to contest, a great deal of bloodshed can

  77. be avoided. So it's just between them, okay. So they whoever wins

  78. the winning nation will yeah, over like overthrow the okay, but without shedding

  79. too many blood needed. So the champion, that's why it's called champion.

  80. So that's why I'm thinking champion. Okay. So that means every time you

  81. have spots those people on the court, they are called champions already. I

  82. mean all those they already champion. I can imagine. Okay. So in

  83. the Bible say the champion. The meanning of champion is bad. Okay,

  84. okay, all right, so interesting okay? And then yes, and the

  85. giant was six cubits and a span is very tall? Ten feet tall?

  86. Is this ten feet? I don't know? Is this time fit? Does

  87. anyone know? Ten feet? Yes? Shirh fine, I'm five six feet

  88. yeah, so until the ceiling here is ten feet, so can you imagine

  89. ten feet? Yes? So tall Goliath is so tall? Okay. And

  90. imagine he's fully armed, and it's so long, the description from the head

  91. to the feet right everything bronze his weapons or bronze okay, and he even

  92. have a shield bearer. I don't know why he needed a shep better.

  93. He's so fully armed, he still need a shield barrel. Okay, So

  94. he got a shee barrel. Wow. So sometimes we hear our enemy or

  95. that big mountain in front of us, it's like, oh, super impossible,

  96. like this big giant Goliath fully ten feutal for everything on the like,

  97. so impossible to overcome. Let's continue to read verse seven, verse eight.

  98. Then he stood and cried out to the armies of Israel. This is Goliath,

  99. right. He stood and cried out to the armies of Israel and said

  100. to them, why have you come out to line up for battle? Am

  101. I not a philistine? And you are the servants of Saul. Choose a

  102. man for yourselves and let him come down to me. If he is able

  103. to fight with me and kill me, then he will be your servants.

  104. But I will preva. But if I prevail against him and kill him,

  105. then you shall be our servants and serve us. Gave us tend the end,

  106. the philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel. They give me

  107. a man that we may fight together. Okay, so he's challenging the Israelites,

  108. right. So this this small passition talks about how the enemy throws psychological

  109. attack at the Israelites, right, not just showing his wonderful gumm wonderful armor.

  110. Right. So shiny shiny can imagine bronze, right, and I think

  111. malah Mail, you can imagine the production right then he say those words of

  112. psychological attack. Why you come out? Yeah, why have you come out

  113. to line up for battle? Even question the purpose of the Israelizes? Why

  114. you come out? You know? You know sometimes the enemy also question us,

  115. right, some people our purpose, like why are we doing this?

  116. And why do we come to church every Sunday? Why do we have to

  117. go to homes? Why? What's the purpose? Slip at home is okay?

  118. You know you sp right this whole week? Question the purpose? You

  119. say, the enemy always like to question the purpose of why we want to

  120. do things for God. So be careful always remember like these words are not

  121. just not just from from ourselves, but it could be the evil one questioning

  122. us, right, like like Goliath. And he also said that Goliath also

  123. said, am I not a philishing? Am you the servants of Saul?

  124. You know? Servants on me? I am finishing? You are servants?

  125. You know, like you're not trying to question the identity of the Israelized.

  126. Hey, your servants on me? I am the Philistine? You know?

  127. Like that? Ah, you know, sometimes a lot of times we are

  128. also questioned of our identity. Who are we in Christ? We are the

  129. child of the Living God. We are God's God's ambassador. We are who

  130. God has called us to be. And you know, always know that we

  131. are more than just the servants of the living God. We are his child.

  132. Okay. So yes, always remember your identity. Okay. And then

  133. in verse nine he also says about come and fight with me, whoever is

  134. able to come and fight, right. And then later on he also said

  135. in verse ten, the Philistine said, I defied the armies of Israel this

  136. day, right, defy the armies of Israel. I went to search.

  137. What is the meaning of Israel? The meaning of Israel means God prevails.

  138. So that means the enemy is coming against Heaven rules. Hey, we learn

  139. Heaven rules, right, all these past few months, twelve months, we

  140. learn about Heaven's rules. Heaven rules, and the enemy comes and defy.

  141. Goliath is defying the armies of Israel. Israel means God prevails, God prevails,

  142. Heaven rules. Right, He's coming against God. The enemy always challenges

  143. God's sovereignty. Right. That's why sometimes you feel very defeated in times of

  144. our journey when we don't remember that actually God rules like the enemy always challenges

  145. god sovereignty. Okay, let's continue to read verse eleven. When Saul and

  146. all Israel heard these words of the Philistine, they were dismaye of God and

  147. greatly afraid if I were to be in the opposition, also very scared,

  148. yes, can imagine now. So when here though in verse eleven it says

  149. here greatly this made some other versions says terrified, greatly terrified, and lost

  150. all hope. Have you ever been there, friends, brothers and sisters.

  151. Have you ever been in that situation where you're so terrified, don't know what

  152. to do, lost all hope, no hope at all. So this is

  153. what they felt. Okay, verse twelve. Let's read now, David was

  154. the sun was sorry. David was the son of that who's sorry? Was

  155. that a tite of Bethlehem Judah? Okay, So he's from Judah, from

  156. Bethlehem. Okay, David okay? Whose name was Jesse. His father's name

  157. was Jesse, and who had eight sons. So Jesse had eight sons,

  158. and the man was old. Jesse was very old, advanced in years in

  159. the days of Saul. Right, the three older sons of Jesse had gone

  160. to follow Saul to the battle. The names of his three sons who went

  161. to the battle were earlier. First born next to him is Abinadab, and

  162. the third is Shama. David was the youngest, and the three olders followed

  163. Saul. So you can imagine David is the youngest baby brother, okay,

  164. among the eighth verse fifteen. But David occasionally went and returned from Saul to

  165. feed his father's sheep at Bethlehem. So meaning to say, David actually was

  166. serving in the courts of the king. So okay, playing the harp and

  167. things like that. Right, So he occasionally go back to Bethlehem to help

  168. his father shepherd his the ships, okay, verse sixteen. And the Philistine

  169. junior, So the Philistine is Goliath. Okay. The Philistine drew ner and

  170. presented himself forty days, morning and evening. Wow, forty days, not

  171. five days, not ten days, not fifteen days, not twenty days,

  172. not thirty days, forty days day and night, morning and evening, throwing

  173. those psychological words at the Israelized. Well, have you ever been in this

  174. situation where you are constantly trolled over like all those words that are discouraging all

  175. what you see in the physical Goliath, the Philistine every day presented himself in

  176. his whole shiny shiny bronze armor, the fithal every day until sometimes become numb.

  177. You know, I don't know, I don't know. Sometimes we can

  178. become numb until you're like, it's like that, La, it's like that

  179. means like that, you know, forty days, you know you Okay,

  180. So seventeen then Jesse said to his son David, take now for your brothers,

  181. and ifa of this dried grain and these stand loaves, and run to

  182. your brothers at the camp. Okay, and carry these ten cheeses to the

  183. captain of their thousand and see how your brothers fare, and bring back news

  184. of them. Right. So, David, being the youngest in the family,

  185. right, must still be the one who serves everyone else in the family,

  186. right, you know, God, brothers and sisters. God still uses

  187. the foolish to shame the vice. Okay. He still uses the least too,

  188. to uh, to teach or maybe to even show something to those who

  189. are not the least. Right. Yeah, And God can use anything and

  190. everyone who is willing and courageous enough to step up, especially in the form

  191. of prayer. In this in this context of prayer, Okay, don't say

  192. we are too young, okay we or we are too old, we are

  193. done. No, we still can be used by God. Okay, we

  194. can still. God can still use us no matter what seasons of our lives

  195. are. Right, So let's be strong and courageous to step up in prayer.

  196. Someone asks for prayer. Come on, let's pray together. Let's let's

  197. be courageous enough to pray. And it is also our choice. Do you

  198. know that there is some things that God can do and there are some things

  199. that we need to do right, for example, praying God don't expect to

  200. I hardly say God, God praying you know, No, No, we

  201. pray, Okay, we pray. This is our responsibility. We pray.

  202. We disciple people. You know, God is suvereign. God doesn't disciple people.

  203. God calls us to disciple people. That's why the church is here to

  204. disciple. You know, you cannot ask God please disciple me. I'll stay

  205. at home and God, You're disciple with Jesus Holy Spirit. Yes, but

  206. He's using people to disciple us. So there are some things that God us

  207. and God gives us the responsibility to be partners together with him to grow the

  208. Kingdom of God. So one of it is also prayer. Right, you

  209. don't pray, pray prayer. God gives us prayer so that we can also

  210. commune and communicate with him, all right, prayer, right? And one

  211. thing very nice? Oh yeah, Romans Chapter Travelers one also did say that,

  212. you know, we need to tryransformed the renewing of our mind to know

  213. his will. Yeah, So whenever we pray, we want to know what

  214. God is. Your will first be transformed with his word, and to know

  215. he. To know him more is to know his word and to continue to

  216. commune with him. Right, Okay, Verse twenty, let's read. So

  217. David rose early in the morning and left his ship with a keeper and took

  218. the things and went as Jesse had commanded him. And he came to the

  219. camp as the army was going out to fight and shouting for the battle.

  220. Here we can see David he rose up early in the morning. Okay,

  221. early in the morning. The father says something, he rose up early in

  222. the morning. Wow, the super ideal son. Right, you don't oversleep.

  223. You know, he already received the command. He do it with all

  224. his might, and he does it his best. He obeys even his father.

  225. Wow. Amazing, amazing, right. And he you know, he

  226. don't just obey his father. He has a responsibility to take care of his

  227. sheep. So he he's responsible enough to arrange a replacement for his responsibility of

  228. taking care of you. He didn't, he didn't reject his sheep, or

  229. he didn't just leave his sheep and just do whatever his father tells. He

  230. is responsible, So you see, it's something where God sees this David,

  231. even in the daily right, and even in the things that God calls us

  232. to, we know that of course we have other responsibilities, like for myself

  233. and my children, right, I don't just do the word of God and

  234. then just like let my children know, I need to take care of my

  235. children as all and also serve the word of God together right together as a

  236. church. Let's do this together with responsibility of what God have given us.

  237. And God is looking. Tell your neighbor, God is looking, yes,

  238. God is looking okay, right, yes, And David was faithful in the

  239. little things, and God honored him. His father sent him to deliver food

  240. his brothers and the captain, and to bring back news of how his brothers

  241. are doing. Okay, so that is what he's supposed to do, right,

  242. verse twenty four. Let's ready, Sorry, I skip so much,

  243. okay, Verse twenty Okay, verse twenty one. For Israel and the Philippines

  244. had drawn up the battle array army against army, so you can imagine,

  245. you know, the yeah, the battleground okay, verse twenty two. And

  246. David left his supplies in the hands of the supply keeper, ran to the

  247. army and came and greeted his brothers. Then as he talked with them,

  248. the brothers, when David talked to his brothers, that was the champion,

  249. the Philistine of God, Goliath by name, coming up from the armies of

  250. the Philistines. And he spoke, according to the same words, psychological attack

  251. again, so David heard them. Okay. So at this day, I

  252. believe it's the fortieth day. Okay. Forty. The number forty very significant,

  253. everybody, right, the number forty, right, forty. The number

  254. forty in the Bible speaks of new beginnings and transformation, right, And the

  255. Bible just have to say, at the fortieth day, right, and it's

  256. a day of transformation. It's a day of new beginnings. Probably the Israelites

  257. didn't know, okay, but it is a day of something new. It's

  258. going to happen. And God raised David for such a time as this.

  259. Right, So I want to declare fortieth whatever year, fortieth season for each

  260. one of us, a new beginning, twenty twenty four, a year of

  261. new beginnings made that come to pass for you in Jesus' name, right,

  262. Okay? So where was I verse onana? Was? Okay? Okay?

  263. Say same words to them, yes, verse twenty four. And all the

  264. men of Israel when they saw the man fled from him and were dreadfully afraid.

  265. When I read twenty four many times preparing this word, I read the

  266. scripture many times, and I, after reading so many, I paused at

  267. verse twenty four. Interestingly that the author of First Samuel, and in verse

  268. twenty four it says, and all the men of Israel when they saw the

  269. man. Interesting that the author would say the man and not the giant.

  270. Did you see it? I don't know. Do you see it? The

  271. one that I bolded? I know it's very hard to read that it's not

  272. really border here, but it's the man. The author refers to the giant

  273. as the man, not the giant. See how interesting the perspective of the

  274. author is it's the man. It's just a man, yes, sah,

  275. He's still a man. He's still a man. He's not God. He's

  276. man. Right. He didn't even say giant. He's a man, right,

  277. He's the man, right. And he fled from him and were dreadfully

  278. afraid verse twenty five. So the men of Israel said, have you seen

  279. this man who has come up? Surely he has come up to defy Israel.

  280. And it shall be that the man who kills him, the king will

  281. enrich with great riches, will give him his daughter, and give his father's

  282. house exemption from Texas in is Wow verse twenty six. Then David spoke to

  283. the man who stood by him, saying, what shall be done for the

  284. man who kills the finishing and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who

  285. is this uncircumcised first scene? That he should defy the armies of the living

  286. God? Verse twenty seven. And the people answered him in this manner,

  287. saying, so shall it be done for the man who kills him? Yeah?

  288. So here we can see. Despite a lucrative reward offered by the kings

  289. by King Saul to kill Goliath, David was more focused on God's reputation,

  290. and he is very deeply motivated to see God glorified. Yeah, yes,

  291. the reward is just like by the way, but he's more focused on God's

  292. reputation. Are we living for the reputation of the Lord every day? That's

  293. a good question to ask, even for myself, ask our hearts. Whatever

  294. we do, are we protecting the reputation of the living God? Okay?

  295. Right? Verse twenty eight? Okay, twenty eight. Now Eliap, his

  296. oldest brother, hurt when he spoke to them, to the man, when

  297. he when Iliab heard David speaking to the soldiers, and Aliab's anger was aroused

  298. against David, and he said, why did you come down here? And

  299. with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness. I know your

  300. pride and the insolence of your heart, for you have come down to see

  301. the battle? All right? So verse twenty eight Eliab the cocor, the

  302. big brother, the queer, the anan, right, the older brother really

  303. David seeing him as being proud and very rude, very naughty. Okay.

  304. Insolence means naughtiness in King James versions is naughtiness right just to come and watch

  305. the battle for his entertainments. That's what I understand from this verse. Right.

  306. He thought that David just want to have an entermerent or see some battle

  307. fighting, you know, like watching cinema. All right, okay, but

  308. you know, let's continueate verse twenty nine. Verse twenty nine, and David

  309. said, what have I done? Now? Why big brother always like cluing

  310. me? What did I do? Like? What have died? I don't

  311. now? Is there not a cause? Wow? Is there not a cause?

  312. In verse twenty nine, David reminded Eliah, his big brother, and

  313. the soldiers that is there not a cause? But they kept saying the same

  314. thing due to fear, you know, of seeing that big giant and all

  315. dress up in full armor, right, and they see everything in their physical

  316. eyes verse thirty Then he turned from him toward another day. Okay, David

  317. went to see another like, went to talk to another soldier and said the

  318. same thing, and these people answered him as the first one did. Okay,

  319. So nobody's listening to David. Is there not a cause? Okay?

  320. Nobody's following him? No following, nobody followed David. Okay, so it

  321. seems like he's alone Verse thirty one. Now when the words of which David

  322. spoke were heard. They reported them to King Saul, and he sent for

  323. him Verse thirty two. Then David said to Saul, let no man's heart

  324. fail because of him. Your servant will go and fight with this philistine.

  325. And Saul said to David, you are not able to go against this philistine,

  326. to fight with him, for you are a youth and he a man

  327. of war. From his youth. Hello, you don't go fight with him.

  328. You are a small kiddo. You know we don't fight he from his

  329. youth. He's been worrying. You know, you don't fight. Yeah,

  330. something like that. Okay, so yeah, he Verse thirty one. Even

  331. King Saul looked down on David's ability because he is a youth. Philippians for

  332. Us twelve says, let no one despise your youth, but be an example

  333. to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit,

  334. in faith, and in purity. May this be a reminder to all of

  335. us, right, let us not be looked down because of who we are.

  336. A wish position, we are, a wish season. We are we

  337. still can even in difficult situations, we still can rise up. Church,

  338. Come on, let's rise up. Is there not a cause, people,

  339. church, children of the Living God, okay, Verse thirty three, Verse

  340. thirty four. But David said to Saul, your servant used to keep his

  341. father's sheep. And when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb

  342. out of the flock, I went out after it and struck it, and

  343. delivered the lamb from its mouth. And when it rolled a rose against me,

  344. I caught it by its beard and struck and killed it. Right verse

  345. thirty six, Your servant has killed both lion and bear. And this uncircumstance,

  346. I'm uncircumcised. Philistin will be like one of them, seeing he has

  347. defied the armies of the Living God. Right and continue us thirty seven.

  348. Moreover, David said, the Lord who delivered me from the paw of the

  349. lion and from the paw of the bear, he will deliver me from the

  350. hand of the philistine. And Saul said to David, go and the God

  351. be with you. Why like kings say like that, Come I go with

  352. you, La, I don't know you go you go, God be with

  353. you? Are you yo? Okay? Come on anyway, David, something

  354. to high up about David. David had a testimony. Do we have a

  355. testimony? Do we have a testimony, a really personal testimony of your relationship

  356. with God, like what Priscilla has shed today. This is her testimony.

  357. This is a testimony of her fighting with the lion and the paron killed.

  358. Yeah, you know God is with me, and God is gonna use that

  359. testimony to do something greater. You can use your testimonies. That's why journal,

  360. your testimony is. Okay, last time we used to write. Right

  361. now we can block, we can video what do you call that? You

  362. do? Vlock eye? You can belock yourself so you know, create a

  363. what do you call it? Oh myso you can playlist? Please vilocks of

  364. your journey? Yeah, something something good now that you can do? Okay,

  365. some digital ideas. Yeah, your testimony is remember them because these are

  366. powerful tools to remind us to do greater things of God when God caused us

  367. to do something right. Okay, okay, let's continue. Where are we

  368. verse? Forty no, no worse thirty eight yees. Today it's so salt

  369. clothes David. Okay, so go with you, but I give you my

  370. almala worse the day it's so salt clothes. David with his armor, and

  371. he put on bronze helmet on his head, and he also clothed him with

  372. a cold meal. Verse thirty nine. David fastened his sword to his to

  373. his armor and tried to walk, for he had not tested them. And

  374. David said to Sault, I cannot work with this, for I have not

  375. tested them. So David took them off. Yeah, so here in verse

  376. thirty nine. Sorry, Verse forty thirty nine and forty right, don't be

  377. like someone else when God has made you to be who you are, don't

  378. be someone else. God can use you as you are, right, don't

  379. have to put on King Saul's armor. You can be yourself. God can

  380. use you as you are. And what is in your hands, everything that

  381. you have experienced a lot on little whatever it is. Yeah, God has

  382. brought you true when you were born until now wherever you are at. God

  383. has already given you all that you need to know to do his will.

  384. All right, yes, yes, okay, So God has been training you.

  385. Okay, and David, yeah like go Nedian, Yeah, okay,

  386. right, okay, let's continue Verse forty one, oh sorry, Verse forty

  387. then then David took his staff in his hand, and he chose for himself

  388. five smooth stones from the brook and put them in the shepherd's bag in a

  389. pouch which he had, and his sling was in his hand, and he

  390. drew near to the Philistine. Right, David only had a staff, stones

  391. and a sling. He didn't just have stone and sling. But he also

  392. have a staff and this stuff. You know, as a shepherd. They

  393. marked down their testimonies on it. Okay, yeah, I don't know how,

  394. but they did. Okay, so stuff represents all their testimonies. So

  395. he took his staff with him. I don't not know how he has.

  396. He has two hands, but got so many things that he's holding. Okay,

  397. but whatever in his hands, he took it, his staff, his

  398. stone, and his sling. And his sling apparently is his leader sling.

  399. Okay, sling. And very interesting fact, did you know that Benjamins,

  400. Uh, this David is from the tribe of Benjamin. Right, the Benjamines

  401. were so accurate that they were able to split a hair with it every time.

  402. So every time they sling, they can. They are they are very

  403. good. They are very accurate. Okay, you can even find this in

  404. Judges chapter twenty, verse fifteen, to sixteen Judges, Chapter twenty, verse

  405. fifteen to sixteen. There was a record where the bagamind's actually very skillful to

  406. sling in such a way one streend or hey, they can even split it.

  407. Waa. Great archers are the actually Benjamins. So you know David is

  408. very skillful. Okay, right, let's continue, okay, Verse forty one.

  409. So the finishtin came, the goliath came. Okay, the phinish thing

  410. came and began drawing near to David. And the man who bore the shield

  411. went before him was forty two. And when the phinishtin looked about and saw

  412. David, he disdained him, for he was only a youth, rudy and

  413. good looking. Wow. Okays for the tree. So the Philistine said to

  414. David, am I a dog that you come with me with? Six?

  415. And the phinishtin cursed David by his God's forty four. And the philistin said

  416. to David, come to me, and I will give your flesh to the

  417. birds of the air and the beasts of the field. Right so here we

  418. can see David. Sorry, Goliath was belittling David. He was youthed ruddy,

  419. ruddy, means like, you know, not like worrying people. Worrying

  420. people they have scars, they're like got a lot of marks, you know.

  421. But this David, very handsome, very smooth skin, you know what,

  422. this little fellow coming over. And so David was like Golias was belittling

  423. David. Can you imagine every single one that David made, they are belittling

  424. him. Practically, there's nobody, even the king don't even believed in David.

  425. Nobody. You know, times have you been in this journey when there

  426. are times when you feel very alone in your journey and when God has called

  427. you to do something, be reminded of this story today. Okay, God

  428. is with you. Okay, let's continue verse forty five. Then David said

  429. to the Philistine, come to me with that. You come to me with

  430. a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come

  431. to you in the name of the Lord of Host, the God of the

  432. armies of Israel, whom you have defouled. Wow, was anyone here?

  433. Last week we learn about Jehovah's saber and what is Jehovah Sabaoth means the Lord

  434. of Host. Wow. When you know when Elder Rose was sharing the word

  435. last Sunday. I'm like, ooh, this clicked. Wow. You know,

  436. I mean, God is speaking to us Church. I don't know how

  437. you feel, but it's like, wow, God, you are reminding again

  438. that you are jehol vers subb. You are the God of all, the

  439. God of the armies of Israel. You are the Lord of hosts. He

  440. commands the army of Israel. God is with you. You are at the

  441. majority. And when you do the will of God, when you stand,

  442. even though you are alone in this journey, he is with you. All

  443. right, Okay, continue verse forty six. This day, this is what

  444. David say to Goliath. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand,

  445. and I will strike you and take your head off from you. And

  446. this day I will give the caucuses of your of the camp of the Philistines,

  447. to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth,

  448. that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. Verse

  449. forty seven. Then all the assembly shall know that the Lord does not save

  450. with the sword and spear, for the battle is the Lord's, and he

  451. will give you into our hands. Wow. Well, he's just a youth,

  452. but such amazing words. And it's a great reminder as a church today.

  453. Wow, these words, these words are how you say, it's still

  454. very real because we are still reading. You see in verse forty six,

  455. right, it says David says that that all may know, that all the

  456. earth may know. Well, we here, we are here in Malaysia,

  457. We're here in Ciber, the Earth. We are part of the earth.

  458. Right, we are hearing this word, this testimony, this story. It

  459. is true. It's still very true. All the earth may know that there

  460. is a God in Israel. There is a God. So that incident took

  461. place many many years ago in the Middle East, and today here in Malaysia,

  462. we are still hearing of it. We are knowing the God of Israel

  463. and the incident that happened. Amazing, okay, and and yeah, that

  464. everyone will know okay, and you see here sorry, in verse forty six,

  465. David's confidence was in the Lord, and the Lord he was. His

  466. confidence is in the Lord, and that enabled him to prophesy his victory,

  467. that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel and all

  468. the assembly. Well, he's so brave in front of all the enemies.

  469. I can imagine the officials the Philistine army and at the same time the Israelites

  470. behind as well. You know, he was at the battlefield, right,

  471. he was the champion, Right, he was the champion there for representing Israel

  472. and the king. You know, he's in front of the king and he's

  473. saying this, He's saying this, and he was so so confident. His

  474. confidence was in the Lord. Right, that all this assembly shall know for

  475. the battle is the Lord's so much confidence because I really believe that he had

  476. spent so much time knowing his God. He spends so much time in his

  477. free time while taking care of the sheeps. I believe it may be quite

  478. boring just looking at the sheep waiting. You know, I can't imagine a

  479. lot of free time. He was spending time singing to God, getting to

  480. know God, hearing of the scriptures of what happened in the old times when

  481. Moses brought the israelize all the wonderful miracles, and he knows this God of

  482. Israel is amazing and powerful like Jehovah's Sabbath, right, right, Okay,

  483. let's continue verse forty eight. So it was when the Philistine arose and the

  484. philistenings in life. So now the battle starts. When the philisting arose and

  485. came and drew near to meet David, And David hurried and ran toward the

  486. army to meet the Philistine. Then David put his hand in his bag and

  487. took out a stone, and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his

  488. forehead, so that the stone sank into the forehead, and he fell on

  489. his face to the earth, fell his faith on the earth. I fell

  490. his faith on the earth. Right, wow, duo, okay, right

  491. okay, Verse fifty, Verse fifty. So David prevailed over the Philistine,

  492. and with a sling and a stone and struck the philistin and killed him.

  493. But there was no sword in his hand, in his in the hand of

  494. David verse fifty one. Therefore David ran and stood over the first thing,

  495. took his sword and drew it out and off his sith and killed him and

  496. cut off his head with it. And then the Philistines saw that their champion

  497. was dead. They fled champion can diez. The champion was dead. Wow

  498. victory over Israel who right right Verse fifty two. Now the right so verse

  499. fifty two. Now the men of Israel and Judah arose and shouted and pursued

  500. the Philistines as far as the entrance of the valley, sorry entrance of the

  501. valley, and to the gates of Ikron. Remember the map, all the

  502. way to Iikron, and the wounded and the wounded of the Philistines fell along

  503. the road of Raim, even as far as God and Ikron. Right,

  504. yes, and verse fifty three. Then the children of Israel returned from chasing

  505. the Philistines, and they planted their tents. Yeah, or not just chase

  506. a finishing, they plundered their tensil. So, wow, what a great

  507. victory, wasn't it just because of one David who believed in his God,

  508. knowing that he's so courageous, and that broke true. And yeah, the

  509. reason of all this war is because the Philicines want to take land of the

  510. Israelites, where the Israelites previously was conquering the land. Also, so now

  511. the Phylicians was coming. But then the Israelites were so afraid by this champion

  512. Goliath, right so, and now that they won, it's such an imp

  513. important incident that it is he to be found in the Bible because this is

  514. where the Israelites took the land back right, right, so very important.

  515. Next light from from the Lord's Prayer Matthew chapter six, verse nine to thirteen.

  516. Right, you can read that right, and I believe all of us

  517. or most of us will know the Lord's Prayer. But focusing on verse thirteen

  518. and draw perils of the story of this David and Goliath. So God's kingdom

  519. right. So the last verse says here for yours sorry, The last in

  520. verse thirteen of the Lord's Prayer says, for yours is the kingdom and the

  521. power and the glory forever. So this was a teaching from Pasa Kenneth also

  522. Elder rules right, So pass also taught us this assault for yours is the

  523. kingdom. Perils. Let's draw perils to the story of David and Goliath.

  524. Right. David established God's seignty and prophesied his victory that day, and it's

  525. Heaven rules God's kingdom. He established that even though everyone thought it's really impossible.

  526. But David stood his ground and stood his ground on the fact that he

  527. knew God is with him and God rules. Heaven rules right, establish God's

  528. kingdom. Okay. Next, his power God's power was manifested when he's the

  529. stone sunk into Goliath's forehead at the very first shot and killed him. This

  530. is God's power supernatural. Okay, yes, low Benjamin the Menamides very skillful,

  531. can split the hair. But God used him. I mean I'm sure

  532. they are Benjamins in the armies or so right, I'm sure why didn't you

  533. use your skill? Why this so scared? They have a skill to shoot,

  534. right, or maybe they didn't have their sling because they have all the

  535. army, Yeah, there are spears and all no things. Don't know why

  536. didn't bring your So God can use you in every situation. Funny situation like

  537. why would you bring a sling to an army? I mean yeah, battlefield,

  538. Yes, why would you bring a sling to a battlefield? Right?

  539. You can because God has given you that that ability. Benjamins, Why why

  540. didn't why nobody step up? Right? Interesting? Right? I was wondering,

  541. like why Okay, but then God can use you. God can use

  542. us when we are willing to step up to be willing to be used by

  543. God. Right, God's power was manifested, So this this is the thing

  544. God wants to use us. Right, And our role. Okay, we

  545. may not be like you know, like what the Bible says, the stone

  546. go over to the head. Maybe we cannot do that, but God can

  547. do that. That is God's part. Our part is to bring the sling

  548. and the stone and sling it. Right. If we don't do it,

  549. God cannot use that. So he's a partnership thing. Right, Always remember

  550. that. I'm also reminding myself. Yes, right, God's power was manifested

  551. when the stone sunk into David's colias Golias for it at the very first shot

  552. and killed him. That is the supernatural okay, and his glory that all

  553. the earth may know, and today all of us know. Write this story,

  554. we are reading the incident today, that all the earth may know that

  555. there is a God in Israel, and all this assembly shall know, for

  556. the battle is the Lord's whole. Indeed, all of the Earth and all

  557. of Israel know this story. Everybody knows this story. Okay, this story

  558. is not and all because David declared it. You can declare it in your

  559. situation that all may know. You know, of course, yes, as

  560. the Lord leads you. Okay, that all may know for God's glory.

  561. Okay, Right, so even in this always remember this. How do you

  562. say concept right? God wants to be glorified. Okay. God's kingdom can

  563. be established in our workplaces, in our families by us first knowing His kingdom.

  564. That's why you come to church. That's why we do. We teach

  565. the word of God to know his kingdom and what he has, what powers,

  566. what amazing plans that God has for his kingdom. Right, come and

  567. be part of it, right, and come and know his word? Right?

  568. And also how do we know this by even praying? When we pray,

  569. when we pray, even in our quiet time, yes, even more

  570. so, come together corporately to pray. Prayer service is happening this Tuesday at

  571. our hub Okay, home leaders will let you know, but I'm letting you

  572. know in advance in application of the word today. Prayer service is on this

  573. coming Tuesday at the hub. Be there eight pm. Okay, right,

  574. So let's come together. You'll know about more. When we pray. We

  575. hear so other people praying, and you never know, God can use a

  576. willing heart to pray and Prophesye a lot of times when we have our local

  577. prayer service and even our corporate prayer service as well. Prophecies are being made

  578. right, and I am so encouraged and I am so blessed. I wish

  579. that all my homies, all my Excityjaya partners are there to hear it.

  580. It's so good and so encouraging. Holy Spirit was there and always there to

  581. minister to us. And yeah, I wanna you know, encourage us to

  582. do that corporate prayer right and also pr four y every quarter. Okay,

  583. So just listen up to homeleaders when they give a shout out on that as

  584. well. Okay, corporate prayer very important. You know, the kingdom,

  585. know God, okay, and his power. When we pray, there is

  586. power. You see God's work in our lives individually as a church, as

  587. a nation and also the world. Right, we pray and we see God.

  588. I'm very excited of what God is doing in Malaysia, very excited to

  589. see how the churches are coming together like never before, you know, praying

  590. and in interceding for Malaysia and also the world as well. So come and

  591. see right and experience God, his kingdom and his power. This is so

  592. that God be glorified his glory Hypacook two fourteen. For the earth will be

  593. filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the

  594. sea. Right you like it or not, you don't want to come a

  595. prayer service, We cannot stop you, but we are encouraging you don't miss

  596. out because when the earth is filled with the knowledge of the glory of the

  597. Lord, as the cover is the sea, you don't want to miss it.

  598. Okay. Yeah, so be part of it, and you know God

  599. can use you. Just a small testimony of myself. I'm my testimony.

  600. This testimony not very big, but I just want to share a testimony right

  601. after after from five after pre you, Okay, I en wrote myself in

  602. this School of Youth Ministry for three months. It's like a small Bible school,

  603. okay. And after graduation gave us a small ceremony. I returned back

  604. to school to con they knew my Firm six and God gave me and a

  605. few friends of mine a burden to pray for our school. And together with

  606. my SYM friends, my School of Youth Ministry friends and classmates, how we

  607. happen. Yeah, they also happened to be my schoolmates as well. Yeah,

  608. and they also continue to be their Firm six. And together we pray

  609. every morning for our school to seek the Lord. After almost about a year

  610. of praying, God led us to start a Christian fellowship. Our school is

  611. a government school, it's very hard to start a Christian fellowship, right,

  612. and we want to start a Christian fellowship to mainly focusing on praying for the

  613. school and reaching out to our pre believing friends and teachers. And we had,

  614. of course challenges right doing God's work. Come on, we're I got

  615. no challenge. God is always there right then, with all you know or

  616. the shining Bronzemmer you know and everything challenges is already there. And our challenge

  617. was our school. Yes, our schools a government school, so our principal

  618. did not allow us to have any religious society. Right, we hear this

  619. Lord, And we didn't have any venue to meet as we were not allowed

  620. to meet in the school grounds for this meeting. So we spoke to some

  621. of our Christian teachers and also our Christian schoolmates and we agreed to come together

  622. to pray for our school and reach out to pre believers. So two months

  623. after that, the two months after the start of CFS, so we managed

  624. to start right and I was yes, so I was driving already, so

  625. I was fetching a friend to CF and while I was driving, I was

  626. supposed to turn right at a junction. Okay. I saw a car coming

  627. on the left right, but it was quite resistance. So I thought,

  628. from my judgment, I can cross the road right. Malaysian roads, you

  629. don't right. You have to cross a road to go to the other side.

  630. Okay. So the car was coming on the left, there was a

  631. distance I can drive, yeah, I can, I can cross okay.

  632. However, there was cars parts up along the side on the right hand side

  633. okay, okay. I was in Pinang. Pinangoes are very small, okay,

  634. so I some people still park along the road okay, so it makes

  635. it even smaller. And because of that, my visibility of the cars come.

  636. The traffic coming on the right was slightly blocked. So seeing there's no

  637. traffic on the right, I presume, like you know, it seems like

  638. no traffic. So I thought, I can cross the road because the car

  639. is still coming, but I still can cross right. Yeah, So I

  640. accelerated the car to turn right, but suddenly a motorcyclist came and crashed into

  641. my car and crashed into the windscreen, the window, the glass. So

  642. until today, actually I have a scar on my face on my right here.

  643. If you want to come and see, yeah, I can show you.

  644. Okay, there was a scar. It's a deep scar. Until today

  645. I still have it right and yeah, because of the glass shattered, I

  646. was rushed to a nearby cleaning to get myself stitched up right, But the

  647. motorcyclist is really badly injured. That was my I think that was my first

  648. car accident. I never had it before. I felt so traumatized the whole

  649. incident. So because I was on my way to cf like, woh God,

  650. why do I have to end up in this situation. Later that evening,

  651. while I was resting at home from the incident, I got a call

  652. from my friends at CFD eventually started off without me. I said, just

  653. go ahead, yeah, so they startled off without me. So, uh

  654. yeah, I got a call from my cf friends that evening. And you

  655. know, amazingly what happened that day. A friend of ours who joined us,

  656. who is a pre deliver came to join us for the very first time,

  657. gave her heart to Jesus that day. She gave up her tarot cards.

  658. They she burned her terrot castle in the place where we had CF was

  659. outside the school grounds in one of church friends vicinity. The auntie helped us

  660. to you know, have this done, and a pastor was there as well,

  661. so amazing. So our friend actually gave her life to God. Really

  662. praised God for that. And I, because I was also the secretary of

  663. the CF, I'm privileged to have the records of the meeting and minutes with

  664. me. Actually I wanted to bring it, but anyway, yeah, I

  665. still have it until today. And all what happened, God visited us and

  666. what we learned and everything, I still have the book with me. I

  667. cherished it very much because it's an incident. It's a season where I really

  668. must remember God's power and the testimony that he has given us. So since

  669. then, the CF also grew in numbers. So after that incident, the

  670. CF grew in numbers. And we started off with four people and he grew

  671. to thirteen people with one salvation, and all this in the span of five

  672. months. Though we were small all in numbers, we were very small.

  673. And that's why I say it's just a very small testimony. The journey showed

  674. us that we when we leave. When we live out His kingdom through pray,

  675. listen, and obey, and witness, we see God's power at work

  676. and God glorified. It was just that season and it's amazing, right,

  677. and I believe that all of us also have that season and use it for

  678. His glory. Pray and listen, obey and witness, okay, because we

  679. want to hear what God is leading us. Don't just go by our own

  680. strategies, but listen, pray, listen, and obey and witness. Okay.

  681. So for closing call for action Church, right, pray in everything.

  682. Philippians four five to seven says, be anxious for nothing, but in everything

  683. by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to

  684. God and the peace of God we supposs us all understanding, were God your

  685. hearts and minds. Thrue Christ Jesus. So with thanksgiving, you know,

  686. just a very short testimony as well for the Okay, my mother in law

  687. is a really amazing woman. Okay. She has been helping me with my

  688. kids, right, and especially when I after I gave birth, she was

  689. there helping. And also my second daughter when she was there when I gave

  690. birth, she was also there to help when she was born, until like

  691. and then pandemic hits. Then we're thinking, okay, maybe let mother in

  692. law stay with us for a while. I mean, how many of us

  693. here married and having your mother in last in the house can be a bit

  694. difficult sometimes, especially in a long term right and many times after, especially

  695. after the pandemic. The plan was that she can go, she can return

  696. back to her home in Joha. Right after the pandemic. M CEO is

  697. done, right, but apparently not because there was a situation in the family.

  698. So I'm like, God, can I have my freedom? And can

  699. I have my space? I was actually really struggling within myself, like God,

  700. you know, can we can I just have my space? But you

  701. know, God actually constantly remind me in his way every time I have my

  702. prayer, my my quiet time when I pray God, you know, And

  703. God led me and reminded me of these Philippines four five seven. Bring every

  704. in everything pray and in prayer, in everything, prayer by prayer and supplication

  705. with thanksgiving. And I'm reminded that I need to give thanks, and I'm

  706. constantly reminding myself. So I thank God for my mother in law who is

  707. being such a great help. She coaks, she cleans, and you know,

  708. she takes care of the kids while we can't. You know, she's

  709. a great help. I'm constantly you know, taking this really personally to me

  710. and even for yourself as well. If you have a situation like this or

  711. maybe something more complicated. Always remember to give thanks in every situation, Okay,

  712. in everything, bring it to prayer right as a song? Right,

  713. yeah, okay, anyway. Ephesians chapter six, verse ten to eighteen.

  714. I'll just read the verse eighteen. He says, you pray always with all

  715. prayer and supplication in the spirit. Be watchful to this end with all perseverance

  716. and supplication for all the saints. This verse eighteen is a verse that is

  717. afterward Paul was writing to the Ephicians to put on the whole armor of God.

  718. Right, and in this last line in verse eighteen, says, praying

  719. always with all prayer. You know, in everything, pray in everything,

  720. good times, bad times. Right, remember to pray. So when we

  721. pray, we are telling God God, we need you. God, we

  722. are depending on You. We are nothing without him. Right. That's point

  723. number one for call to action. Okay, all this call to action is

  724. to action, not just on PowerPoint now, okay, next light point number

  725. two. Okay, pray, believing, pray believing. March sixteen, seventeen

  726. to eighteen says, and these signs will follow those who believe in My name.

  727. They will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues, they

  728. will stake up serpents, and if they drink anything deaily, it will be

  729. by no means hurt them. They will lay hands on the seat and they

  730. will recover. Amen. Right, and these signs will follow those who believe.

  731. Hold on to this promise of the Word of God is powerful. Every

  732. time you feel like, ah, your prayer or Lord work or what this

  733. is the word of God. It says, these signs will follow those who

  734. believe. When we pray, let's pray believing, pray believing, because these

  735. signs will follow. Believe church, believe, rise up, let faith a

  736. rise within a US. Right. And the reasons for signs healing deliverance are

  737. confirmation of the Word of God. The confirmation of the Word of God.

  738. These are the signs right and His kingdom established. So it confirms also the

  739. accuracy and the legitimacy of the Word of God. Eventually these signs will also

  740. lead to God being glorified that all may know Him. Right. And when

  741. we pray, let's pray in faith, believing, and His power is seen

  742. through the signs. Right. Another short testimony of this. You know,

  743. we are praying for my mother in law's salvation. She is Mandarin. Speaking

  744. is very hard for me right to speak in Mandarin. But I'm trying to

  745. see how I can bring my mom, my mom in law to come to

  746. know Christ. Even true action is harder. I feel, I don't know,

  747. but I feel it's harder, but I continue to pray. So every

  748. time there's a prayer request, I always ask different, please pray for my

  749. mom in last salvation. Right. So, and you know, praise God

  750. because we pray believing. It's a journey, right. And some of us

  751. heard this estiming the money before. My mother in law had a big fibroid

  752. in her uterus, and so there was a surgery done two years ago.

  753. Thank God, the surgery was successful. But before the surgery that happened,

  754. she actually prayed to Jesus because she was afraid. I think this is,

  755. yeah, a major surgery for her, right, and she prayed to Jesus.

  756. She called on Jesus. The word of God says those that call on

  757. the name of the Lord shall be saved. I hold that verse very closely

  758. to my heart. God. My mother in law has Auntie Amy is her

  759. name. So pray together with me, Okay, pray for her salvation.

  760. Auntie Amy called on your name, and you said in your word, those

  761. that call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. I, believing

  762. God Church, believe together with me for the salvation of my mother in law.

  763. So she did so. I really believe that one day she will even

  764. confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Okay, so and believe in her heart.

  765. Okay. So let's continue verse sorry point number three. Pray persistently Galicians

  766. sixty nine, and let us not grow very while doing good in for in

  767. due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart in this while doing

  768. good. Don't wory, don't weary while doing good, don't wory in praying,

  769. keep praying, don't wory, don't give up. Let's continue to pray

  770. and prays in right to h Yeah. And you know, in in line

  771. of persistent prayer, also you can also look up in Luke, chapter eleven,

  772. verse five to eight. This is a story of a friend coming at

  773. midnight to ask for break. Okay, next light, Yeah, Luke,

  774. chapter eleven, verse five to eight. Okay, go back and read that

  775. your homework. Okay. Read how persistent persistence even while man is also willing

  776. to answer persistent requests. What more our heavenly Father, Amen? Right,

  777. I can write extreme to come up and all of us rise to our feet

  778. as we close. Right, So remember these three points. Pray in everything,

  779. pray believing, and pray persistently. We hope you've been blessed by this

  780. message. For more information on our church, please visit as church Org.
