You're listening to a message to go from acts Church. We hope this message
-
will light up your day. All may know. And that's our theme for
-
this year, that all may know, all right? Uh, And it
-
comes from a story of Daniel okay. Uh and uh you know the part
-
where he you know, King Nebuza. Uh, you know, and there's
-
a so whole story then all right. Last year it was Heaven rules and
-
then now it's that all may know. So Heaven's still rules and that all
-
may know. But now I want to ask you the question that all may
-
know? What that all may know? What is the question? Right?
-
So? Uh? That all may know that Jesus is Lord. Amen,
-
they all may know, that Heaven rules, that all may know the Kingdom
-
of God. So these are the few things that we are we are talking
-
about that all may know. But today I want to focus in on that
-
all may know what Jesus knew. Okay, what Jesus knew from John chapter
-
thirteen. So that's the main text that I'm going to talk about and let's
-
see where we go from there. So okay, so that all may know.
-
Why we have this theme is because you know, people need to know
-
Jesus people need to know who is the creator of the earth, of the
-
whole world of the universe, and who can save us? Who can save
-
us? Right, So that's very important. But this morning, let's look
-
at the text here, all right, got slights here? All right,
-
thank you, Fred. So let's go with the first one. We'll read
-
the Bible and let's see how we go from here, all right, now,
-
Yeah, so you know I've been talking on I've been using the Book
-
of John, right, And I stopped for a while, right, I
-
remember, and then we went into Easter, and I think I did the
-
story of Nayman before this. But so as I prayed and prepared, I
-
didn't get you know, the message for a while and go like what am
-
I supposed to talk about? And I was going on the Book of Kings
-
still, and I was exploring different different stories. And then I've in the
-
end, you know, I believe the Holy Spirit led me back to Hey,
-
go back to John. Right, So I'm back at John here,
-
John the thin right, So let's look at this here. Now, let's
-
read that all right now, Before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus
-
knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father.
-
Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to
-
the end. Okay, we just continue to stay on this verse here,
-
all right, and let's look at it a little bit. So now before
-
the feast of the Past or what does that mean, right, Jesus is
-
about to you know, accomplish his work on the Cross. To go to
-
the Cross. I believe it's kind of like around maybe twenty four hours before
-
this happens this at this time, all right, or maybe around there.
-
Okay, So it's can you imagine that. Imagine you know you're about to
-
fly for your holiday trip to Europe or whatever, right, okay, far
-
away place, and your flight you know you have to be there, you
-
know for international flights, around four hours before you there's some excitement, right,
-
excitement a little bit of anxiety. You go like, oh, you
-
know how I don't miss my fly? Right? How many of you here
-
you've missed flights before? Miss flights for I have? I have? And
-
yeah it was really sad and then we have to pay more money to get
-
the next flight anyway, is real? Right? So imagine you know your
-
big exam is coming in twenty four hours right, So what are you thinking
-
about? Right? So you're worrying, You're wondering, am I prepared?
-
You know, you're studying your last minute stuff. Right, You're doing the
-
most important thing before that thing comes. Right, So just giving us a
-
sense of the feel, right, that might that Jesus might have been feeling
-
so just before. That's why he's mentioned there. Right, Jesus knew that
-
his hour had come. Jesus knew, So that on me. Know what
-
Jesus knew? You know, Jesus knew time, he knew when his hour
-
was coming. He knew when he was going to die. You know,
-
that's really amazing. Actually, not many people, in fact, I don't
-
know of anyone who knows when they're going to die except I've God told them
-
maybe right, And many you know, big names, maybe even religious right
-
names, they don't know when they were going to die. Right. If
-
you go and study you know a lot of whoever you know that claims to
-
tell the truth, and you're going to find out how they die. It's
-
quite interesting to just study that, like how they died. Okay, And
-
when you look at Jesus's death, you will find it very amazing, very
-
glorious. Right. It was a horrible death, it was painful, but
-
he knew exactly what was going to happen and when. So Jesus knew when
-
I want to tell you how amazing that is. First, he's definitely you
-
know, God to be able to know when he was going to die,
-
right. And the other thing is this, how about you? You have
-
challenges and you know that you're worried about things like, for example, you're
-
worried whether you'll fall sake, You're worried whether you know you're wondering like when
-
when will I suddenly die? All right? What will happen to me?
-
And it's got to do it time? Right? But I want to tell
-
you Jesus knows. Jesus knows when you know what's going to happen to you.
-
He knows when he knows exactly when. And maybe if you really want
-
to know, you can actually go find out, pray see God about it.
-
If you're worried about something and it has got to do it time.
-
He knows because he knows when, he knows when he was going to die,
-
so he will know when for you as well. Okay, I hope
-
that encourages you time can be a very mysterious thing. But if you're in
-
God's hand, he knows and you want to find out, you want to
-
know, you can ask him and he will reveal to you if he wants
-
to la all right, Sometimes he allows you to be in the mystery.
-
It's okay, you don't know the time yet, It's okay. Trust him.
-
But he knows. Even if we don't know, he knows, and
-
we can trust him. Amen. You don't know when your friend or your
-
relative is going to come to Jesus, but he knows, so we can
-
trust him and we continue to speak the good news, we continue to share,
-
right, And sometimes it looks impossible, but he knows when. Amen.
-
All right, next one, so same verse here. I just want
-
to highlight the next part here. He knew that his hour had come to
-
depart out of this world to the Father. Now he knows, not only
-
when he knows where he's going. He knows where he's going. He does
-
not really know the time. He knows where he's going. How many of
-
you know where you are going? Right? And that's the other thing,
-
Right, What if you bought a plane that goes to wherever? You don't
-
know where you're going. That's a very interesting thing to do. But what
-
if it you ended up in a place that you didn't like. What if
-
you ended up in a place that, right, that is gonna torture you,
-
right, You're gonna suffer there. So but then Jesus knew where he
-
was going, all right, He knew where he was going. So I
-
believe he was in a way, you know, he was not worried.
-
Yes, he's a little bit troubled with the pain that he might have to
-
go through, but he knew where he was going. After that, but
-
you know, when you know, if you know where you're going, and
-
let's say you end up in a very nice place. You ended up in
-
a very nice you know, five style hotel, nice holiday, nice destination,
-
all the birds and whatever, the sky is beautiful, but you don't
-
know who you're going to be with. Even if you go into a nice,
-
beautiful place and you're all alone, what's the point. What's the point?
-
Right? You can't share it with anyone. You take pictures and nobody
-
sees it. What's the point, right? So, more importantly, he
-
knew who he was going to, you know, that's the best thing to
-
know, right, doesn't matter. You go to a place with streets of
-
gold whatever, the water is made of gold, whatever, But there's no
-
one there that loves you, and no one there that cares about you.
-
It is pointless. I rather go to a place that is I mean,
-
humble, maybe made of wood whatever. Right, But I'm with the person
-
I love. I'm with the person who loves me. That's even better.
-
Amen. Right. So a lot of people talk about heaven and oh what
-
a beautiful place, and what am I going to do there? But actually
-
it's more important to know who you're going to. And we're going to the
-
Father. A man Jesus knew he was going to the Father and that comforted
-
him. And that's the same comfort that we can have if you knew who
-
you were going to. So I asked you a question. You know who
-
you're going to right in the end, right, So let's at least connect
-
with him now, right, all right? Otherwise you'll say do I know
-
you? Oh? All right? So all right, it's not about where
-
you're going only it's who you're going to. Amen. So let's connect with
-
the who right now. Let's let's speak to him. Right. If you've
-
not been praying that's what that's what we mean. Speak to him. Pray.
-
It's actually very challenging to prayer, isn't it. It can be because
-
you've got to remember to pray because you don't see this person as in like
-
your physical eyes don't see Father, God or the Holy Spirit, and it
-
is it needs to come from you know, inside. It comes my faith
-
to actually pray, all right, even a simple prayer. Start, just
-
do it. Amen. More and more I feel, you know, uh,
-
there's something that stirs in me to quickly pray, quickly pray, all
-
right. I used to do this, you know, when we are in
-
the car with the kids, I will, you know, listen to some
-
things, listen to maybe a sermon, a Bible, a podcast, listen
-
to some songs, and then when we're about to reach there, I start
-
praying. I used to do that, all right. Uh, and then
-
we're about to reach and the amen, and then let's get get out of
-
the car, let's go to school, go work. I used to do
-
that, but then I reversed it. Instead. I started doing like when
-
we start the car, I start stop praying already, we start praying with
-
everyone, and uh, well it works somehow, all right, the children
-
are able to join in, all right, And I realized I can pray
-
a little bit more, you know, uh, and uh, pray for
-
things that matter, all right. I pray for the government, I pray
-
for the nation, pray for the church, pray for you know, work,
-
pray for each other, pray for the church. And then then when
-
I'm done, Hey, still got time? Then okay, Then return on
-
the song, return on the podcast, and it's all still good. So
-
I reversed it in state because I wanted to prioritize. Let's speak to God
-
first. Amen, So I want to encourage us. Let's pray, and
-
let's speak to the one whom we are going to, whom we want to
-
go to, all right? Can we do that? Church? Amen?
-
Yeah? Now I want to move on. So Jesus knew where and who?
-
And then next one, okay, still the same verse, having loved
-
his own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.
-
Now, actually, if you go to the original text, the last part
-
actually says love them to the end, meaning love them to completion, love
-
them completely, all right, so meaning he see the thing is, how
-
did they respond to Jesus? And how do we respond to Jesus sometimes is
-
I mean, because we're not God right, and we're made of clay,
-
clay or you know does and we are we are imperfect people, right,
-
Yet he still loves us. And when we come to him, sometimes we
-
betray him, sometimes we deny him, just like Peter and you know Judas,
-
remember we were talking about Judas some time ago as well. He betrayed
-
Jesus. Yet and then you know, they deny Jesus and they gave him
-
a heart time. But yet he still loved them completely, completely, not
-
partially. He's not like, Okay, this guy, you know, he
-
gave me a half hearted thing. I'll give him half heart as well.
-
You know, I'll give him some things, all right. He didn't do
-
that. He gave his all anyway. He completely loved them all. That's
-
what he means, having loved his own. He took them as his own,
-
his own, all right. It wasn't like just a half breed or
-
you know, half, but this is mine. They are. Mind these
-
people, and mind, these disciples and mine. I love them completely.
-
I give them my best, I give them my all. I will lead
-
them, I will teach them, I will feed them all right, and
-
I will protect them. Jesus protected his disciples as well, and I will
-
die for them, and I will forgive them and I will accept them.
-
So this is complete. No one else in this world will do this for
-
us, complete love till the point of death. All right. He didn't
-
just die, he resurrected. That's completion, amen, all right. So
-
really there's no one else in this world who can do this for us.
-
It's Jesus alone, amen. And that's why all need to know Jesus.
-
Yeah, that's why we say that all may know. Now move on.
-
I think that the Jesus knew his disciples but still love them completely, not
-
partially. Right, they turn against him, they betrayed him, they disappointed
-
him, they upset him. They Yeah, they disappointed him, and he
-
still loved them completely. So the same thing for us, right, Yeah,
-
I don't know how many of us. You feel like I disappointed God.
-
I didn't do what I was supposed to do, all right, And
-
sometimes it gets into condemnation. He go like, yeah, because I didn't
-
do you know, I'm not good enough, then I might as well just
-
don't. Might as well stop serving him, all right, might as well
-
not do this because I'm not holy enough. Hey, do you know Jesus
-
still loves you. Jesus still loves you completely. His death is still for
-
you. Right, He's not giving a discount about that, he's not pulling
-
it back. He's still giving it, and he's still there on offer.
-
All we need to do is come humbly and stop thinking in a condemning way
-
about yourself. Because you know, when you say when you condemn yourself,
-
you are actually saying I am God, I am the Master, and that's
-
why I judge myself, you know. But we should surrender the judgment to
-
God. Let him judge us, and his judgment is right. His judgment
-
is right, and his judgment is merciful. All right. He loves us,
-
he's merciful. He gives us a lot of chances. He's still giving
-
us a chance. So don't do condemnation, because condemnation is you judging yourself,
-
saying, yeah, I'm not good enough, I'm not going to do
-
this, I'm not coming back to God. But come on, you're not
-
a judge, all right, Let it go. Let that go, and
-
let God be the judge in state. Come to God and say, God,
-
you judge me, you judge me. Oh, and we're all afraid.
-
Right, he's going to strike lightning on you, open the earth and
-
you know, fall into it in the ground, whatever you think. So
-
let him do it live if he feels he needs to do that to you,
-
right, all right, But the Bible, the Word of God,
-
tells us that God is merciful, he loves us, so he's gonna,
-
I believe he's gonna take you in. Look at the story of the prodigal's
-
son, right, Yeah, he went and did all kinds of stuff right
-
far away, and then he comes to his senses, he stops judging himself.
-
He said, I'm gonna let my father judge me, because, yeah,
-
if he wants to make me a worker no longer a son, let
-
him let him see he's condemning himself. I'm I'm just a worker. But
-
then he comes to the father, he humbles himself, and then the father
-
receives him back as a son, as a son, puts a ring on
-
him, right, clothe him with a beautiful role. And that's what God
-
wants to do to all of us here. Amen, So don't condemn yourself.
-
Let God be the judge, let him receive and accept you. Amen.
-
Okay, moving on. Hallelujah. Okay, we move on hour verse
-
two to four. Here right during supper, when the devil had already put
-
into the heart of Judas, his cart Simon's son, to betray him.
-
Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands and that
-
he had come from God and was going back to God, rose from supper.
-
He laid aside his outer garments and taking a towel, tied it around
-
his waist. So look at the first part here was two the devil had
-
already put into the heart of Judas, right, and to betray. You
-
know, the devil always seeks to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus
-
wants to give life right, and not just life. It is abundant life,
-
more abundantly right. And so the devil, you know, will use
-
people, all right, And we've got to recognize that. And if you
-
feel, if you recognize it, that you're doing the work of the devil
-
and you're you know, going against life. Because when it's when it comes
-
to life and abundant life, that's Jesus, all right. But when it's
-
still kill, destroy, negative got recognize it's from the devil. So you've
-
gotta you know, perhaps go like, oh, I want to stop partnering
-
with the devil. Come on, stop partnering with the devil, partner with
-
Jesus, and agree with life, life and life more abundant. Amen.
-
So now I move on to the verse three. First, Jesus knowing that
-
Father had given all things into his hands. Listen, when I read this,
-
I was just trying to understand it, right, and realize that at
-
this moment, gee, God, the Father had given Jesus the authority.
-
It's actually all in his hands. He was in control. So meaning to
-
go to the cross, it was actually in his hands for Judas to betray
-
him. It was in his hands. He could have just cut off.
-
He could have stopped Judas from doing this, right, he could have no,
-
you know, not gone to the cross as well, you know,
-
or it's painful. I don't want to write. It's in his hands.
-
He was actually in control of this whole thing, right. And I think
-
we spoke earlier, you know, in the past weeks. You know,
-
it may look like, oh, Jesus was this, you know, lamb
-
led to the cross, and you know, it's all he was not in
-
control. It may seem like that but it's not. According to the word
-
of God. You look at it, It's all in his hands. So
-
Jesus was actually in control of this situation. Yet what does he do?
-
Right? He could have turned things around, but he wants it exactly this
-
way. This is how he wanted it, because this is how the Father
-
wanted it, so he allows it. Yeah, So I want to tell
-
you, so the situations that you are going through, he may look like
-
you're going through a slaughter, all right, it may look like you're going
-
through a torture. But Jesus, it's all in his hands. All authority
-
has been given to him. It's all in his hands. And we can
-
look to him and ask him, ask God, like why am I going
-
through this suffering? Why am I going through this torture? Perhaps he might
-
explain it to you, all right, but we can trust him that it's
-
all in his hands. He was in authority, and what he knows who
-
was in control? All right? Just looking at that line, the Father
-
has had given it into his hands. Amen. Okay, we haven't finished
-
reading the verse. I just want to read the Bible here back, yeah,
-
right, and that he had come from God and going back to God
-
rose from supper. He laid aside his outer garments and taking a towel,
-
tied it around his waist. Okay, we're going I think we will talk
-
about that. Yeah, all right, So he laid aside. So,
-
knowing that he had the authority is all in his hands, what does he
-
do? You see, it's not a bunch of random words, right,
-
it's he knew what he was. He knew it was all in his hands.
-
But the next thing he does, he wants it to happen, and
-
he does this. He laid aside his outer garments, rose from supper for
-
us, right, stop it thinking, rose to supper, laid aside his
-
outer garments and takes a towel, ties it around his waist. Ready to
-
work, Ready to do a work? All right. So this speaks of
-
Jesus showing the example. I am in control. I'm in control of your
-
situation. You are going through suffer as well. You're going through difficulty.
-
You feel like you're going through a slaughter. And this is what I do,
-
and this is what we should do. This is what I want you
-
to do. He's showing us an example. We're going through a hard time,
-
we're going through a challenge. This is what you should do. Next,
-
lay aside, you're out the garment, take a towel, right ready,
-
get ready, okay, next, right, okay, okay. So
-
I want to read one Peter five five to seven here because Peter was there,
-
right, Peter was there, and it's hearing the words of Jesus,
-
or rather he's looking at Jesus, you know, laying aside his outer garments.
-
And this is very much connected to what Jesus was doing. And you
-
can see that Peter got it right. Likewise, you are younger, be
-
subject to the elders, all right, this verse are you know, if
-
you look at the earlier of us, it talks about the elders as well.
-
It's not just younger people be humble, but he's addressing all different people,
-
older, younger. So it just so happened this line here says younger.
-
Okay, all right, So likewise, you who are younger, be
-
subject to the eldest. Clothe yourselves, all of you. Clothe yourselves,
-
all of you with humility toward one another. For God opposes the proud,
-
but gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty
-
hand of God, so that at the proper time he may exalt you,
-
casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. God opposes
-
the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Amen. So we go
-
back to the story of Jesus here and him removing his outter garment and putting
-
on the towel, clothing himself with humility, ready to work. So,
-
if you're going through challenges, you're going through a hard time in life,
-
right, what should we do next? Can we remember this? Get ready
-
and humble ourselves and be ready to serve? Amen? Now, all right,
-
let's go to the next one. Right. Jesus knew that he came
-
to serve, all right, Jesus knew that he came to serve. And
-
so, knowing that he has all authority, knowing that the hour is coming,
-
he's got twenty four hours before he goes across, he does the most
-
important thing. He serves. He serves, Amen, And I want to
-
encourage all of us here to also do that. Can we serve? Can
-
we serve? All right? Now? But how do we serve? How
-
do we serve? Next one? All right? So what does he do?
-
He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples feet and
-
to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him. Okay, he
-
came to Simon Peter. All right, yeah, the guy who said,
-
you know, God opposes the proud right now. He came to Simon Peter,
-
who said to him, Lord, do you wash my feet? Jesus
-
answered him, what what I am doing? You do not understand now,
-
but afterward you will understand. Okay. Next Peter said to him, you
-
shall never wash my feet. Wow, all right, very humble, guya,
-
or rather it looks like that, looks humble? All right, you
-
shall never wash my feet. Oh, you cannot do this, you know
-
for me, Lord, you're you're too grand. You know, I am
-
not worthy? And this is again you know, it goes back to I'm
-
not worthy, I'm not good enough condemnation right, right, So we've got
-
to be careful. Right. It sounds humble, but is it really humility?
-
Yeah, Jesus answered him. If I do not wash you, you
-
have no share with me. Right. The humility of coming to Jesus to
-
allow him to do something in your life and acknowledging we cannot we cannot be
-
clean on our own acknowledging. We are in a way. You know,
-
when you come to God and say, yeah, God, I'm not good
-
enough unless I have you. Yeah. If I do not wash you,
-
you have no share with me. Jesus is telling us the truth here.
-
We need him to clean us. Right. And then Simon Peter said to
-
him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my
-
head. Wow, I'm telling you, I tell you, Simon Peter is
-
trying to call the shots. Yeah, he's trying to call the shots.
-
It sounds really good. Lord. Then you wash all of me. I
-
need to be fully holy, fully everything. Okay, I was playing a
-
home shouting. We had you know, we ate together some expensive food.
-
Okay, right, right, can I hear once in a while, once
-
in a while, next time we will do it in the house. You
-
will bring bring you know, yeah, God blessed. Okay. Anyway,
-
yeah, we were eating food. But the more interesting thing and that night
-
was uh uh you know, someone brought the Bible game. In the Bible
-
game. That was good. It was good. It was a very hot
-
Bible game. And then uh no we started playing it. I mean Pastor
-
was there, right, and uh, Everyone's like, yeah, just gonna
-
score it? Or isn't it right? I couldn't answer. I read,
-
I heard the clues, and like, is that in the Bible? Really?
-
And there were some experts there, There was some experts there. They
-
answered very quickly, all right, and yeah, I finally got one right.
-
Oh, I finally got one right. I was relieved one right at
-
least, thank God, you know, if not, I would have gone
-
zero. But but what I'm trying to say here is this Jesus is I
-
thank God? You know, Jesus says this? Or rather know when Peter
-
said, wash all of me, wash all of me, you know,
-
and what does Jesus say? Jesus said to him, the one who has
-
bathed does not need to wash except for his feet. But he's completely clean,
-
and you are clean, but not every one of you, all right,
-
meaning you know simon Peter saying, all right, I've got to be
-
fully holy, maybe even you know, I got to know all the Bible,
-
is it. I've got to be serving, you know, all wonderfully
-
missions. You know, I'm living the Christian life right uh? And then
-
maybe I'm accepted. But Jesus saying, no, I don't need to wash
-
your whole body. Just give me your feet. Let's just start there,
-
all right. If you don't a whole bible, at least start one somewhere,
-
right, It's okay, get one right first, all right? Uh,
-
and uh, you know that's what Jesus saying, Just give me,
-
just give me your feet. You don't call the shots. You don't call
-
the shots. Let me lead. I want to wash your feet. Let
-
me wash your feet. Right, you're still struggling with sin. You're still
-
struggling with sin. Right, It's okay. I don't need you to be
-
fully completely perfect yet, It's okay. I know you. I know what
-
it means to struggle with sin because sometimes, uh, it's you know,
-
it takes a while, you take some time because you're struggling with it,
-
right, and you're sometimes it's a habit you you're so used to doing something
-
and then and uh, you know, the devil wants you to continue to
-
condemn yourself and say, yeah, I'm not good enough. I can't,
-
I won't, I won't come to Jesus, right. I need to be
-
fully good and all good first, holy right, But that's your own effort.
-
Yeah, Jesus is saying, it's not your own effort. Let me
-
let me do that work. Let me wash you clean, and I start
-
with the feet. All right. So he's saying maybe perhaps also you know
-
what he's saying is, yeah, I mean what what is uh you know,
-
playing the guitar, playing the cahan played, doing one sound system?
-
Right, He's saying, yeah, if you give me that, I'll take
-
that. Just one thing. I'll start somewhere. Amen, all right,
-
I wanna I wanna also encourage and command the husbands of the new homes leaders,
-
all right, homes leaders, right, all right? Uh? With
-
them supporting them? Is is their their man? You know? Okay,
-
thank Gonnor. All right. Sometimes they're not also prominent now you know,
-
they're not the homes leader but the wife the home leader. But then they're
-
they're supporting there. They are making sure they can go for the meetings and
-
then do things. All right, So men, well done, Okay,
-
keep doing that. Yeah hallelujah. Yeah, I do that all because you
-
know, Jillie is going to Singapore, I think and of April to you
-
know, speak on mental health to ex Singapore, and then I think she's
-
going to preach it there as well. So I'll be here like you know,
-
the kids will be with me. It's all good, all right,
-
Praise God. Yeah, so she can go and serve the lot there.
-
Yeah, Expo will be blessed. Hallelujah. All right, let's go all
-
right. Uh so, don't call the shots. Don't call the shots on
-
Jesus. Let him be the one. If he's asking you for one thing,
-
let's let's give it one thing. Yeah, and thank God, he's
-
very merciful. Right he doesn't say, come, let me wash your whole
-
body. Now, let me wash your whole body. You need to be
-
fully, perfectly clean right now. Then only you can serve me, all
-
right, he starts somewhere. That's why I say God is so merciful,
-
He's so kind. Amen, all right, moving on, next one,
-
next one, thank you, Fred, Okay, all right. So the
-
point here is that Jesus knows how to wash us clean. He knows how,
-
he knows the right way, and we can trust him with it,
-
and we can allow him to work in our lives. Amen. We don't
-
need to tell him how to wash us, all right. We don't need
-
to set the rules, because he sets the rules. Yep. Okay,
-
next one, right, So this is all says, we are incomplete until
-
we receive his gift. So Jesus is offering a gift of wanting to wash
-
the feet of his disciples. And instead of bargaining with him and say,
-
why don't I give you more of this? Why don't you, you know,
-
give me more of this? Received what Jesus has given to us?
-
What has Jesus given? Why do we receive that? All right? Instead
-
of putting, you know, our extra terms and conditions with him, Let's
-
receive what the Lord has given to us. Amen, all right? Fred,
-
Yeah, all right? So what else does Jesus know? For he
-
knew who was to betray him. That was why he said, not all
-
of you are clean when he's when he washed their feet and put put on
-
his outer garments. When he had washed their feet and put on his outer
-
goverments and resumed his place, he said to them, do you understand what
-
I have done to you? You call me teacher and lord, and you
-
are right, for so I am. If I then your lord and teacher
-
have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. So
-
thank god Jesus explains to us what he does, all right, doesn't leave
-
us in a blanket, and so he explains it. He explains it because
-
it's important for us to understand, it's important for his disciples there to understand.
-
That's why he explains it, all right, And it's twenty four hours
-
before his death. After that, right, in a sense, he may
-
not have the time to explain. So you see, he knows the time.
-
He knows when he has he has a plan even to explain things and
-
teach things within that twenty four hours. And after this, I think verse
-
chapter twenty fourteen, he is you know, he says a lot of very
-
important things, and I think towards chapter seventeen he prays, you know,
-
for everyone, hey, well planned, you know, well plan you know,
-
just before that, right, because he knew the time. So I
-
want to tell you as well, you know, whatever you're going through,
-
you feel like you have only twenty four hours left whatever his God knows the
-
time, and he has a plan, and he can put all the plans
-
in place within that twenty four hours if we allow him to amen. So
-
let's trust him. Let's trust him. Now where are we now? Okay?
-
So if I then your teacher and Lord have washed your feet, you
-
also ought to wash one another's feet. So that's why he's teaching us.
-
He's giving us an example, and he's telling us directly, this is what
-
you need to do. Can't get any clearer. He's telling it to us,
-
this is what you ought to do as well. Right. Of course,
-
some people can misunderstand this and go like, oh, now we're gonna
-
do this ceremony wash feet and stuff like that. So let's all now line
-
up here. Let the pasta wash your feet and stuff, right, which
-
I know some people do that, but it's not that I don't think.
-
It's just it's literally go and wash your feet, right, because many of
-
your feet actually cleanland nowadays, Yeah, you already take bath to wash your
-
feet many times yourself. Okay, unless you're very very smelly, feed Okay,
-
then then you need help. Okay, you need washing. Okay,
-
there's a different story. But we don't need that nowadays. Those days,
-
they they needed that, all right. But he's telling us we need to
-
serve one another. We need to serve one another. All right. Let's
-
go to the next slide. For I have given you an example that you
-
also should do just as I have done to you. Just like him repeating
-
himself almost all right, truly, literally, I say to you, a
-
servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the
-
one who sent him. You know these things, blessed are you? If
-
you do them. You gotta do them, not just know it, but
-
do them right, very very clear here. He's very direct here. You
-
know, if you think Jesus is very nice person, gentle, right,
-
he is. But he's also very direct. So all the direct people in
-
the house say yeah, yeah, because the direct people, a lot of
-
people don't like them because they're very too direct. All right, your mother
-
is smelly direct. All right, you need to come your head today,
-
right, okay, all right, So we need some direct people in the
-
world. Huh yeah, otherwise things will get done. So anyway, Jesus
-
is very direct here. He's very clear. Do this all right. This
-
is my example. You know it, don't just know it, You've got
-
to do it, all right. So that's Jesus' words, Praise God.
-
And so now the point here is this, Jesus knows that we need to
-
serve one another. He knows that that we need to watch each other's feet,
-
all right. It's something that we don't want to do we don't like
-
to do. We don't like to do to clean someone else's dirty you know
-
things. Yeah, but Jesus is asking us to do that because he knows
-
that we need it. If we don't do it, then there's no humility.
-
Humility is when we can actually put to action and serve people, serve
-
one another. Yeah, we all like to say, okay, Jesus,
-
I will serve you. I will serve you. I will wash your feet,
-
Jesus. But then when it comes to how about this guy's feet?
-
Can you wash his feet? Can you wash her feet instead? But no,
-
Jesus, your feet is beautiful. I will wash your feet. No,
-
no, no, no, no, wash each other's feet, that's
-
what he's saying, wash each other's feet. Yeah, Serve one another because
-
that's where you need to humble yourself. That's where you will need to work
-
with one another, submit to one another, all right, And he knows,
-
he knows that we need it, and that's why he tells us to
-
do that. So you know, when we lead, when we are leaders,
-
especially with you know, leaders in church, leaders who are believers,
-
who are leaders even in the marketplace. Right p's the man is gonna you
-
know, has invited, you know, business leaders things like that. All
-
right, how do we worship God in the marketplace? Right? So?
-
Uh? Leaders, and the word of God tells us. Right. Leaders
-
generally around the world they lauded over us. But leaders who believe in Jesus,
-
we serve. Leaders serve. They remove the outer governments, They put
-
on the towel and they serve. Amen, hallelujah. Now let's move on.
-
He knows, He knew that we needed to wash one another's feet.
-
All right, So now about to close soon. I am not speaking of
-
all of you. I know whom I have chosen. Everyone say chosen,
-
right? Are we chosen? Yeah? Amen? We are? Yeah,
-
those who believe in Jesus, he chooses you. But the scripture will be
-
fulfilled. He who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me. I
-
am telling you now this now before it takes place, that when it does
-
take place, you may believe that I am He truly, Truly. I
-
say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever
-
receives me receives the one who sent me. Okay, be positive for a
-
while. He knows who he has chosen. He knows who he has chosen,
-
all right, and he knows who will betray him. He knows.
-
That's why he says, you know, this one, this, this person
-
who does this will betray me, which is Judas at that time. All
-
right, he knows it. So my question to all of us is this,
-
Will we be the chosen ones? Or will we be the one who
-
betrays betrays Jesus? Yeah? Will you accept him choosing you? Or will
-
you will you be the one to betray him and turn against Jesus? Yeah?
-
Uh, I wanna go back to the diverse again, Fred, Let
-
me see. Yeah, let's look at a last line that whoever receives the
-
one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent
-
me. What does this mean? Right? You know, some of us
-
we understand that we've been sent by God. You know, someone sent to
-
you to lead you, someone sent to Cyberjaya to plant a church, someone
-
sent to start at homes. Right, Nidia has been sent to start CY
-
three, Kathy has been sent to start CY seven. They've been sent and
-
sometimes they knock on your door, they say can you help with this?
-
And so they're sent, right, they're coming on behalf of God. I
-
don't think they're doing for themselves, you know, I don't think they're doing
-
for themselves. They don't get paid for this, right, they don't get
-
any of these benefits. But they're doing it on behalf of Jesus. They're
-
serving Jesus. And they actually sent, they sent, They come and they
-
say, can you help with this? Can you do this? Can or
-
not? Right? And then what happens here? Whoever receives the one Jesus
-
said, right, Keller, don't abuse your power? All right, but
-
you know you've been said right, and I believe they won't. Right.
-
They send, they're coming to their approach you led by the Holy spirit,
-
you know, on behalf of Jesus, asking you can you help with homes
-
with this? And he says here, whoever receives receives, say yes,
-
Nina, I will I receive you, Nina, because the opposite or receive
-
is reject. No, Ninia, I don't want no. I have something
-
I understand, lie No, A meeting was already arranged. Understand, okay,
-
don't don't do self condemnation, right, all right, we understand that,
-
but you willingly rejected? Okay, no condemnation. I'm just giving you
-
a story here. I'm just giving you an illustration here. Whoever receives the
-
one I sent receives me receives Jesus. And whoever receives me receives the one
-
who I sent. He's giving the other way around. If you say we
-
receive Jesus, then received the one, he says, Yeah, okay,
-
someone you know, leader, someone who's you know, a leader in church,
-
brother in church, want to come and challenge and say, hey,
-
you know, how's your life? Can I speak with you about this?
-
Can I pray with you? All right? You look kind of lost.
-
I have a sense that you know, maybe you're not living your life?
-
Right? Can we talk? God has sent them, Jesus has sent them.
-
Right, Will we receive and at least listen and go like, okay,
-
I will at least consider what you're telling me and let me pray about
-
it. Let me seek Jesus to see whether you're saying the right thing.
-
Yeah, instead of no, no, no, no, don't talk to
-
me about this. I don't want I don't want any change. I don't
-
want to serve. I don't want to you know, receive this because maybe
-
you're like Peter, I need to be all clean for us. I need
-
to be all ready first. But hello, Jesus saying no, no,
-
no, I just want to wash your feet. Will you come and let
-
me wash your feet? Right? Amen? Wow? What a powerful word,
-
What a powerful word. This is just this one. I mean,
-
I mean I got that, you know, but as I think about it
-
a bit more, this is powerful. Let's receive the one that Jesus sends
-
to you. Let's receive Jesus, and we receive Jesus. We receive the
-
one he sends. Amen, Praise God. Is that next light? Yeah?
-
I think that's the last one, right, that's the last one.
-
So he knows, he knows whom he has chosen. Will you be?
-
Will you allow him to choose you? He chooses us. But if we
-
reject it, you can't do anything about it. Right. But you know,
-
if we recognize that Jesus choose us and he wants to send you,
-
let's allow him to at least start with washing our feet. Let him cleanse
-
us, all right. We can't cleanse ourselves, only Jesus can. And
-
then he will send us, and he will send us, and uh,
-
yeah, we might face some rejection. But listen, they're not rejecting you.
-
All right, sometimes leaders are We feel like, h why they reject
-
me? Don't worry, they're not rejecting you. They're rejecting Jesus and the
-
Lord will deal with them. We hope you've been blessed by this message.
