  1. You're listening to a message to go from ex Church. We hope this message

  2. will light up your day today. Right, I'm going to start off by

  3. sharing some praise reports, some testimonies from the recent exteen's camp, and this

  4. is gonna be the start of my message because God can speak to us even

  5. true praise reports and testimonies. Okay, So I'm going to do that.

  6. So this is probably going to be the first one third of today's message,

  7. and then the second to thirds will actually be the message proper, which I'll

  8. share with us a little bit later. Okay. So let's start, all

  9. right. I wanna show you some pictures and videos. Okay, no surprise

  10. there, all right. So we had our ex teen's camp just slightly before

  11. last weekend. It was two thursdays ago that we started, so it was

  12. Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Yeah, and we had it in a very

  13. nice place in Solangor called Surrender. Surrender is one of the very small towns

  14. near Rawang. Anyone from Surrender here, no, okay, So it's near

  15. Rawang for those of you who know the local geography and the campsite that we

  16. went to. Right, Wow, the name is so beautiful. It's called

  17. Canaan Valley Canaan Valley, and it's really in a valley and from that valley

  18. you can see valleys and valleys beyond. Beautiful, beautiful. So I'm so

  19. amazed, like, wow, how did the owner find that plot of land

  20. and build such a beautiful campsite. The campsite was made for church camps.

  21. You can tell, you know, they've got your horse, they've got your

  22. eating area, your you know, your dorms really made perfect for a church

  23. camp. So if we ever get a chance, ex Cyberjaya, I don't

  24. know, maybe retreat, Maybe we can consider Canaan Valley. We'll see how

  25. the lot leads. Okay, that's beautiful. So the teens, you know,

  26. we had our camp there, and so at the start of camp,

  27. we sent our eldest son, Judah off to camp. Yes and yeah,

  28. he officially turned to twelve this year and the entry point for camp is twelve

  29. years and above. Okay, so this was very special for us because maybe

  30. can we jumped to the third Instagram picture. Yes, so twelve years ago

  31. we also brought Judah to exteen's camp. At that time, he was only

  32. three months old or less than that, two and a half months old.

  33. So there's my baby boy in there. Yeah, it looks similar with Anika

  34. at this stage, both us around round. Yeah. So this was Judah

  35. twelve years ago at two and a half months. He followed Paster Jack and

  36. I to CAM no choice because Passa Jet and I were serving in the teens

  37. camp back then and I just given birth and you know, we didn't have

  38. anyone to take care of him, so we brought him along to camp.

  39. So yeah, he was in a way, he came, you know,

  40. without choice. Luck. But this year, twelve years later, Judah made

  41. his own choice to go to ex teen's camp. Yeah, and I thought

  42. that was really precious, all right. So there was, you know,

  43. something precious for our family that our son has grown up and is able to

  44. make a choice of his own to accept Jesus to be at camp. And

  45. we're looking forward to so much more that God would do in and through his

  46. life, you know. But I just want to encourage parents here to look

  47. forward, to look forward to what God can do in your child and true

  48. your child. Maybe twelve years from now we'll see a picture of Anika,

  49. you know, doing something for the Lord. Yeah, So today we'll take

  50. a picture of her around Round and at twelve years time, you'll see ya

  51. the difference. Ah. Okay, and we didn't just send Judah off to

  52. camp to you know, have a great time with God and friends, but

  53. past the jet and myself also sent ourselves off to camp. Yeah. Also,

  54. this is Canaan Valley. Yeah, this is beautiful. Yeah. Yeah.

  55. So we also served at the teens camp as well. Passer Jack was

  56. speaking for one of the sessions, and I also took one of the workshops.

  57. And we were just helping out anyway, you know, helping to carry

  58. backs, helping to you know, clean the floor, helping to connect with

  59. the teens, serve food, whatever way that they needed help. We were

  60. there, like to help out together the rest of the adult leaders. Yeah.

  61. So it was so good to be able to serve again in the teens

  62. camp. I think the last time that we served was really twelve years ago

  63. when Judah was around Round Baby. Yeah. So this year was also very

  64. significant for us that hey, after one full cycle, we're back serving with

  65. the teens and were looking forward to the new things that God would do for

  66. our teens. Okay, let's move on so we can show the videos.

  67. Yeah, so I'm gonna show you a couple of videos. So the teens

  68. at camp, who at CAM come okay, all the teams where camp come

  69. stand stand stand San, stand stand stand stand San. All right, these

  70. are our champions. Came back from Cam. Yay, Hannah May, Audrey

  71. a Yes, Sah Ella Ashira, Raiser Judah Wow seven seven from x Cyber.

  72. But God's perfect number beautiful Okay. Next year we hope more can make

  73. it. All right, Thank you teens, welcome home. Yeah, champions.

  74. Okay, So the teens can tell you that they definitely had a fun

  75. time trying not teens. I'm gonna show you some videos of the fun times

  76. that they had. Okay. So we had games. We had captain ball.

  77. Game. Check out the size of the ball. Okay, stop stop

  78. stop, okay stop first okay. So yeah, so we had Captain Ball.

  79. So it was really cute. You know. We had the normal sized

  80. volleyball. Then we had a giant yoga ball for captain ball, and we

  81. had a tiny pink pong ball for captain ball as well. So it's really

  82. funny. Okay, a twist in captain Ball. Next, we also had

  83. sort of like a telematch station games and this was one of the stations where

  84. each team had to choose the most horrible ingredients for the opposite team to be

  85. blended and to be down by them. So let's see what you know.

  86. This team had to down the next Okay, so first okay, So in

  87. that concoction they had things like my low my loo is okay, right,

  88. they had lemon also, okay, lemon and mi looe is like ice lemon

  89. tila right, yeah, it is my loti Okay, Okay. What else

  90. did they have? They had sardines Okay, not only that, what else

  91. did they have? They had garlic, raw garlic, raw garlic, They

  92. had raw ginger, and to top it off, they had bitter god oh

  93. perfect for the five sensus. You got sweet, you got salty, sours,

  94. spicy and bitter. Perfect comb. Yeah, so our teams are so

  95. braved. They found it in the next video. Yeah. I think this

  96. was Razor's team, right, your team, right, Razor? Yeah?

  97. Okay, so I was I was doing first aid for cam. No one

  98. came to me for food poisoning after the tally. Mature safe. Okay,

  99. parents, don't worry. We have crazy fun, but we keep them safe.

  100. We sent your kids back alive to you. Okay then or this the

  101. next video will show you. This was maybe the highlight of the cam for

  102. the teens free play in the swimming pool. So many of them in a

  103. swimming pool. Okay, yeah, so you know, just a snippet of

  104. fun. But you know, the teens didn't just go to camp to have

  105. fun with one another. They went to camp to have faith in God.

  106. And so the next video we actually just shot it off one of the worship

  107. sessions. Okay, okay, Now the worship session was fully led by teens.

  108. No adults on the band. Okay, the youngest person was a campers

  109. student, only one person, but the rest were teens. Ashira played the

  110. keyboard. Yeah all right, and uh so fully teen let band worship Ben

  111. And every session was so powerful. You know, personally, I went to

  112. camp quite stretched physically, and I also had a lot on my mind,

  113. my plate, and so sometimes when I went into the sessions right, I

  114. would feel a bit burdened. But as I worship right and the worship was

  115. led by the teens, I could feel really my burdens lifted. It's powerful,

  116. you know, when our young people rise up to serve Him, God

  117. comes down in a powerful way. And not only that, I want to

  118. show you something very significant and prophetic. Can we show the picture of the

  119. back drop? Yes, this one okay, Now, this was our cam

  120. back drop done by hand by one of our teens here in Cyberjaya and her

  121. mom. Okay, Hannah May, Hannah May, where are you aware?

  122. Give away handa May, Hannah May. Okay, yeah, Hannah Ma's and

  123. where's Hannah May's mummy, Grace. So I'm very proud she's like homie,

  124. Okay, Hannah May. Right, she actually hand drew this whole backstage that

  125. called. Okay, sorry, it may not come very clearly, but actually

  126. she hand drew the front of a kompong house traditional Malay house in Malaysia.

  127. She hand drew it over brown pieces of paper and uh, you know she

  128. had Yeah, she she hand drew it at home and then brought it to

  129. camp, put it up and you know, uh even the centerpiece had backlighting.

  130. Yeah, it was amazing. It was really a masterpiece. Sorry,

  131. the picture may not do it justice. I'm so sorry. But what I

  132. want to show you is that, you know, after the second night's worship,

  133. Okay, during the second night's worship, it was different. Why was

  134. it different, Because during the second night of worship, the teens right kept

  135. going into a clam, a clam, a clap, stomp, cheer during

  136. worship. So like, for example, okay, when we were singing fast

  137. songs, we will naturally clap, right, but when we're singing slow songs,

  138. we don't normally clap. But that night for worship, even though we

  139. were singing slow songs, the teens on the ground just naturally went into a

  140. clap and a stomp continuously something like this. Okay, everybody do with me.

  141. And so throughout that night's worship, from time to time, even during

  142. the slow songs, our teens on the grid kept going into this clap stomp.

  143. It wasn't the adults who were going into it. It wasn't even the

  144. worship team that was going to it, but the teens on the ground.

  145. And I believe it was the move of the Holy Spirit. It felt like

  146. a war cry, a battle cry in the spiritual and it was led by

  147. the Spirit of God through our teens on the ground. And what happened after

  148. that was as Pastor Daniel took the stage to share God's word for that night.

  149. Look what happened to the back drop? Spot the difference. Now you

  150. see it, Now you don't what happened to the back drop. The whole

  151. thing came down. And it didn't just come down, you know, like

  152. peace by peace, by peace by peace, or slowly and gently. It

  153. came down in one second. I kid you not. It came down so

  154. fast that I had no time to take up my phone to even shoot a

  155. video. It just happened like that in one second. And always got a

  156. shock of our lives God, what just happened? We just had an amazing,

  157. powerful time of worship. What just happened? And people were scrambling to

  158. try and put it back up. Pa Pasidiena say it's okay, just leave

  159. it as it is. So I quickly took up my phone and took a

  160. picture because I knew God had a message and a lesson for us to learn

  161. even through this. So what I felt God saying true this whole happening was

  162. as our teens were worshiping God, and it was almost like we were doing

  163. battle with the enemy. God had actually broken down walls in our lives,

  164. walls between us and God, walls between us and our breakthroughs our blessings,

  165. walls between us and reaching the world. Whatever that was an unrite, unhealthy

  166. wall in our life. God had broken it down that night as we lifted

  167. our voice in worship. Friends. And that's the power of worship. You

  168. know, every time you come together to worship God, hear in church or

  169. in homes or even in your own car or bathroom. My kids were just

  170. saying, Mommy, how come we can hear you singing in the bathroom?

  171. Oops? Uncovered? Anyways, they only hear I not see okay, they

  172. only hear me singing in the bathroom. Well, you know, wherever we

  173. worship God, it's powerful because the Bible says, you know, our praise

  174. is a weapon. Amen. And so if you've been struggling in your life,

  175. I want to encourage you to rise up in praising the Lord. I

  176. want to encourage you to rise up in praising the Lord. Praise the Lord

  177. together with this church. Yeah, praise the Lord on your own, wherever

  178. you are at. Because our praise is God's weapon, and he can bring

  179. down walls in our lives as we praise him. Amen. Isn't that a

  180. message from God already? Today? Praise the Lord? Okay? Next picture

  181. so we had different speakers who came to speak to our young people at camp.

  182. I think six speakers. We had Pastor Kenneth, we had Passssandra,

  183. we had Pastor Jack, were Passa Daniel, Pasta Stephen, pasta Yvonne,

  184. and each of them carried like a spiritual jigsaw puzzle piece. And God really

  185. just formed the full picture of his word for our young people to each faithful

  186. servant. Okay. So that's past the Kenneth all right, next year past

  187. the Jack as well, okay. And at the end of every session,

  188. normally the speakers will actually open up the altar for the young people to come

  189. and to be prayed over, to be ministered too. And I believe all

  190. our young people here went up at least once. And how many of you

  191. young people you really heard a word from God? You really felt touched set

  192. free during the al the time? Come, I raise your hands, young

  193. people, raise it proud and hi? Yeah, okay, very cool.

  194. Yeah. So God really met with our young people one on one. They

  195. had a burning bush moment with the Lord at the altar. Many of them

  196. were in tears, all right, and until we had to like you know,

  197. yeah, the altar was flooded. We had to almost mop it.

  198. Yeah, full of tears, tears of joy, tears of being touched by

  199. the Lord. Yeah, all right, next picture. Okay, can y'all

  200. see who is in this picture? I know she looks really tiny there in

  201. the light green jacket. Okay, she's actually one of our teens here in

  202. cyber She's a yes, sir, yes, I give away all right.

  203. So this is Ayasa, out of her own free will, going up to

  204. take the mic on stage during the last night to share her testimony. So

  205. the final night, what Pastor Daniel, our teens pastor, did was he

  206. actually said, okay, now the floor is free. Any of you young

  207. people, you've you know, encountered God at camp and you felt a change

  208. in your life, why don't you come and take the mic and share with

  209. us? And Ayasa went up. Iasa, you were the first one,

  210. right, I think, Noah two before you were, Okay, but Ayesa

  211. went up, and you know, personally, I'm so so proud of her.

  212. This is the first time that Ayasa has gone to camp. Yes,

  213. first time being away from home. You know, the comfort of home,

  214. the love of mommy, yes, and daddy, and honestly, on the

  215. first day, it wasn't easy for her. He wasn't easy, and she

  216. almost felt like giving up. Actually, but by God's grace, you know,

  217. God really ministered to her during the word that first night. It was

  218. Passissendra who was speaking, and God just put no words just right for Issa

  219. through Passsandra, and every word that was coming out of Passsandra, you know,

  220. Issa felt, well, that was God speaking to her, comforting her,

  221. strengthening her to not give up, but to keep going on. And

  222. you know the next day she woke up feeling so much better and she had

  223. so much fun. And the third day, yeah, she had even more

  224. fun, and yeah, until she didn't want to leave Cam. So from

  225. one thing to leave Cam on the first day to not one thing to leave

  226. Cam on the last day. You know, God really just did something in

  227. her. But so proud. Here is a picture of a young lady that,

  228. yeah, goes through the realities of life like all of us, but

  229. she allowed God in to make a difference in her life and turn her situation

  230. around and she went back a different person. And you know, this is

  231. the same God that we serve. So if you would allow the Lord into

  232. your life, to your situation you know, and to move like Isaiah shared,

  233. just now, expect a difference, expect change. Amen. All right,

  234. so you're inn praise God for this. Okay an, okay, next

  235. picture, Okay, I think this is the final picture. So this is

  236. the team from x Is Kanda. X Is Kanda is one of our ex

  237. church plans down south in Joho Barru, the tip of Malaysia, just before

  238. Singapore. And if you can see the only grown man in the picture,

  239. that's Pastor Paul. He is the church plant coordinator for ex Is Ganda.

  240. He's married to Cheryl, beautiful wife, very faithful serving. They've got two

  241. kids, two girls. Now. Pastor Paul brought a team of five teens

  242. from ex Iscanda up for KEMP. Registration started at eight am two thursdays ago.

  243. Guess what time they left is Kanda. They left at four am,

  244. so imagine what time they had to get up, maybe two three am.

  245. I don't know whether they slept, but they were the earliest to arrive at

  246. registration compared to the rest was staying in Klang Valley. The irony right,

  247. those who staying nearest are sometimes at the latest. Yeah, but you know

  248. that was wow. Their dedication their faith, their sacrifice to be at camp,

  249. and God, how many of you know, God honors you know what

  250. we saw. We saw in faith, we saw in dedication, we saw

  251. in sacrifice. The Lord honors it and multiplies it. They had a great

  252. time at camp. And I want to tell you, out of this team

  253. of five teenagers, let me see, four of them are actually from a

  254. shelter home. Yes, they come from a shelter home. And you know,

  255. out of the five teens that you see here in the picture, two

  256. accepted Jesus at camp. So precious. Yeah, I'm like, wow,

  257. God, sometimes right in a sea of one hundred one thousand people, not

  258. even one accepts Jesus. But out of five, like five loads of braid,

  259. you know, God touched two of them and they opened their hearts to

  260. invite Jesus to be the God of their lives. So we praise God for

  261. their precious, precious, precious salvation. Amen. And you know, going

  262. back, they actually left camp earlier because they had to travel back to Iscander

  263. and JB. Guess how long their journey took going back? So they took

  264. about four hours coming. How long do you think it took them to go

  265. back to JB. Okay, I heard six from Kieth quite close. It

  266. took seven hours for them to get back to JB that afternoon. Yeah.

  267. Crazy when we heard it, were like past the ball. How could it

  268. be seven hours to JB because there was a bad gamler. Yeah, but

  269. you know his reply was, if I had to do seven hours again for

  270. one precious salvation among my teens, I would do it all over again.

  271. Wow. That's truly the heart of a pastor who loves his sheep, you

  272. know. Or that just wow that yeah, just steal everything that happened as

  273. well I camp. So you know, can you can you see how God

  274. has been moving in our young people not just fun but faith. Amen.

  275. And why I'm sharing this with us church is because their faith encounter doesn't just

  276. stop at Exstine's Camp. We all have a responsibility to continue to nurture the

  277. faith the fire of God that He has planted in them at Camp. So

  278. all of us are bigger brothers, sisters, maybe spiritual dads and moms to

  279. our young people. Here. I want to encourage US church and challenge us

  280. to continue to walk with our young people, to continue to sow into their

  281. lives so that they can continue to grow the faith and the fire that God

  282. has planted in them. Amen. Amen. Okay, So this part one

  283. of God's message for us today. Praise the Lord. Okay, now let's

  284. see. Okay, we're doing good with timing. So the word that God

  285. has for us today? All right? Additional word Okay, the title of

  286. God's message for us today we may show it is called a spiritual PDF that

  287. all may know. A spiritual PDF that all may know. Okay, how

  288. many of you here are it? People? You live, breathe, dream

  289. it? Okay, all right, okay. How many of us here are

  290. everyday it people? Yeah, non professionals, you know, we use it

  291. in our lives. Okay, okay, So how many of us here are

  292. familiar with the PDF document? Okay? All right? Very cool. So

  293. I'm currently actually reading first Tessalonians for my personal devotion. And like I've shared

  294. before many times, the word of God that I share on Sunday comes through

  295. my personal devotion, and so I really I'm really thankful for my personal devotion,

  296. and I want to encourage you to keep going and growing in it,

  297. all right, like Isaiah shares, because it's really powerful. Sometimes you wonder

  298. God, what do I have to say to people, it's from your personal

  299. devotion that what God speaks to you he can draw out and use it to

  300. speak to someone else. Okay, So I've been reading First Tessalonians and God

  301. has been, so today I'm going to take us through First Tessalonians chapter one

  302. only okay, ten verses and God has actually downloaded three learning points for us

  303. today and they are in the acronym PDF. Ah. So I took it

  304. as okay, God, today you're giving us a spiritual PDF because the learning

  305. points that you have for us is in the acronym of PDF portable document,

  306. foul or format correct, not all the ID people. Okay. So today

  307. God wants to give us a spiritual PDF for us to take home, not

  308. just take home, but please use it nah that all may know. Okay,

  309. So let's go into you. So the first point, okay, pe,

  310. what it stands for is purpose all right, P stands for purpose and

  311. not portable purpose. You can take this down first. Okay. Now let's

  312. all turn to First Tessalonians chapter one, and I want to encourage you.

  313. If you have a physical Bible, please turn to your physical Bible. If

  314. you don't have then use your e Bible. But I want to encourage you

  315. friends, right, I mean soon we're actually going to start a campaign in

  316. church on using physical Bibles. So I want to encourage all of you.

  317. If you do not have a physical Bible, find a way to save up

  318. and invest in a physical Bible for yourself. Okay, It's another level of

  319. God's power. It's like, you know, joining online worship and being physically

  320. present in church. Why do you come physically because there is a difference,

  321. right, same, you know with e Bible and physical Bible, there is

  322. a difference. Okay, So yeah, I want to encourage you to invest

  323. in a physical Bible if you don't have, and if you do, please

  324. bring it and let's read it together. Okay. I'm not a shame of

  325. my Bible. My Bible used to look brown with leather skin, but now

  326. it's all pale colored because the letter has dropped off and fur has started to

  327. grow on my Bible. But I'm not a shame of my Bible. This

  328. is the word of God for me that keeps me alive. All right.

  329. Okay, Now let's read verse one. Okay, So the verses that I'm

  330. gonna I will also put it on the screen for reference, and they are

  331. from the ESV version English Standard version. Okay, so gonna read verse one

  332. first Paul, Sylvanus and Timothy to the Church of the Thessalonians in God,

  333. the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, Grace to you and peace. Okay,

  334. we'll stop here and unpack this one verse. Okay. Now, the

  335. Book of First Tessalonians, just a bit of background, is actually the first

  336. letter that the Apostle Paul wrote to any church. Now we know that the

  337. Apostle Paul was a great man of God, right, he used to He

  338. was a very He was born into, like you know, the top Jewish

  339. background. He was highly educated, and he heavily persecuted the Church of Christ

  340. in the early days. But he had a personal encounter with Jesus and his

  341. life change one hundred and eighty degrees. And then after that he became number

  342. one, you know, fan of Jesus and promoter of Jesus. Now,

  343. then what happened. He went around planting different churches around Europe and Asia.

  344. You know, I believe that what we have today here in ex Cyberjaya and

  345. maybe even the churches back in your countries. You know, the Philippines,

  346. you know, Africa, India. If you trace back right, it could

  347. be attributed to Apostle Paul's missionary journeys. So what we have today is linked

  348. to what Paul, you know, has allowed God to do through his life,

  349. to plant churches in the early days, and it connects all the way

  350. even to what we have today. All right. And so Paul planted many

  351. churches. Apparently he planted nine official churches, but there could be more that

  352. are unofficially documented, all right. And what Paul will do is he's actually

  353. very responsible. He doesn't just plant a church and after that wash his hands

  354. and say bye bye. He was responsible. Wherever he planted a church,

  355. he would actually make it a point to try and go back and visit the

  356. church, to nurture the church and help it to grow. And if he

  357. cannot go back in time, he will at least write a letter. So

  358. responsible, right, So there's something we can learn from him. So,

  359. you know, friends, when you start something, when you bring someone into

  360. your world or your life, you know, let's let's be responsible. Let's

  361. remember to keep check on it and nurture, you know, it to grow.

  362. Okay, So this is what Paul did. Now, so the church

  363. in Tessalonia or Thessalonica was one of the churches that Paul planted, right,

  364. may not be the first church that he planted, but it was one of

  365. the churches that he planted. Okay, and just we'll show the map now,

  366. So the Church of Thessalonica is actually or was actually located in modern day

  367. Greece area. So if you look at the world map, you can see

  368. that I've put a rad circle around the nation of Greece. Anyone here has

  369. been to Greece before, Oh, Lucas, Yes, you've been to Greece.

  370. How is it? It's nice? Yes, Greece is one of the

  371. top tourists destinations in the world. Yeah, it's gorgeous, you know,

  372. yeah, by the Mediterranean Sea and all. So the Church of Thessalonica was

  373. actually located in modern day Greece, just for us to know, all right.

  374. Now, back then the next picture. Back then, the nation of

  375. Greece was actually conquered by the Romans. They started out as part of the

  376. Greek Empire. Then you know, later the Greek Empire fell and the Roman

  377. Empire rose up, and Roman Empire took over Greece and in those days,

  378. okay, where should I go? Maybe I should go here. Yeah,

  379. so this is the whole of Greece from here all the way down here.

  380. So in the olden days, during the time of Paul and the Roman Empire,

  381. Greece was divided into two big areas, Macedonia and I don't know how

  382. you pronounce it, a kaya a chair. Yeah, So these were the

  383. two big provinces in Greece back then, and the Church of Thessalonica was here.

  384. So it's in the province of Macedonia. Okay, it's here, and

  385. it's actually a port city. It's a port city, right, so it's

  386. like Pinang, it's like Malacca, it's like Singapore. It's a port city

  387. in those days, very very busy. Yeah, okay. Now, interesting

  388. fact, the city of Thessalonica still exists in modern day, but it's called

  389. Thessaloniki, all right. So the next map slight change in spelling. Okay,

  390. so interesting that the city still exists in modern day. And this is

  391. a picture of how the city looks like today. The next one. So

  392. remember it's a port city, is a city by the sea, so you

  393. see a beautiful sea line over there, and it's a very popular city.

  394. Even from those days until now, it just has kept growing and growing.

  395. Yeah. I think they are at least one million residents in the city of

  396. Tassaloniki now, so this is the modern day, and apparently it is the

  397. second most important city in Greece after Athens today and even in the biblical times.

  398. Yeah, so it was a big city. Or talking about where the

  399. Church of Tasalonica was in. Yeah, and this is apparently one of the

  400. top tourist destinations yep, in Europe or the world. Yeah, look gorgeous.

  401. When I was looking for pictures, I like, so nice. God,

  402. it'll be nice in one day. I can go there one day.

  403. God, you know my bucket list. Anyways. Yeah, all right,

  404. so a little bit of background about Tssalonica. Yeah, so it was being

  405. a port city, right, It meant that a lot of people from all

  406. over the place came to it and went away from it. They passed by

  407. through it. And this reminded me of ex cyber Jaia. We are like

  408. a port city, you know, friends, because you look around, we

  409. have people from all over the world here. Of course we've got people from

  410. Malaysia, but even from Malaysia. We come from different states, you know,

  411. north, south, east, west and out of Malaysia. We've got

  412. you know, partners from the Philippines, partners from Indonesia, partners from Africa,

  413. Partners from India and beyond, partners from Japan. You know. Yeah,

  414. Lucas, where are you from Germany? Lucas is from Germany. Yeah,

  415. we're global here. It's like a port city. Ex Cyberjaya is like

  416. a port city, Okay. And you know in the olden days, why

  417. God led Paul to plant a church in Thessalonica was to maximize the strategic location

  418. of a port city because many people were coming, many people were going.

  419. So if the House of God is there, the Gospel of God is there,

  420. what do you think what happened? Everyone that comes from all over world

  421. will get a chance to hear the gospel and if they believe in it,

  422. they receive it, they take it back with them and spread it to from

  423. wherever they came from. And I believe this is what God is trying to

  424. say to us, ex Cyberjaya, we are his spiritual port city here.

  425. Why He's planted ex Cyberjaya here is so that all of us here immen.

  426. See God is saying thank you Lord. All good? Okay. God wants

  427. to stay here longer to hear more of his word. All good okay.

  428. Anyways, yeah, so ex Hybergayan is likened to be a spiritual port city.

  429. Here. We have so many people coming from all over Malaysia and the

  430. world. And you are here not by coincidence. You are here by purpose.

  431. Tell your neighbor you are here by purpose. Amen. And you know

  432. what is God's purpose for you? Let show the purpose? Like, yes,

  433. okay. God's purpose for you is twofold. The first purpose that God

  434. has for you to be here is to know him personally more. Why God

  435. has brought you here to Malaysia, to Cybergyr, to ex cyber Jyr at

  436. this point in your life, whether you wanted to come here or not,

  437. it's because God wanted to plant you here so that you can get to know

  438. him more. So you can get to know him more. And not only

  439. that. God doesn't just want you to know him more, but God wants

  440. you to make Him known more to others. So it's a two four purpose

  441. that God has for us. It's like a double aged sword. All of

  442. us are brought here in this season of our lives, to know Him more

  443. personally, and as we know him more personally, to make him known more

  444. to the people the world around us. It's like the cross. We know

  445. God more that is upward direction, and then we make him known more to

  446. others that is a horizontal direction. So the Cross should always remind us that

  447. we have a dual purpose wherever we are at, is to know God more

  448. personally and to make Him known more to everyone around us. Amen, And

  449. that is why you're here. I know that, honestly, not everyone in

  450. this room may have wanted to be in Malaysia. I've spoken with some of

  451. you, and you've candidly and honestly shared with me that actually, Malaysia was

  452. not my first choice. Don't have to raise your hands, Okay, yes,

  453. Lord, we get you. Lord, Okay, But I want to

  454. encourage those of you who feel like, man, why am I here when

  455. this isn't my first choice? I want to tell you that this is God's

  456. first choice for you. Tell your neighbor, this is God's first choice for

  457. me. It may not be my first choice, but it's God's first choice

  458. for me. Amen. Amen, Trust the Lord, and however the long

  459. or short, the Lord places you, you know, may he accomplish his

  460. purpose fully in and true you. I remember having a conversation with you know

  461. RJ and Nina Ninia in particular, and I know that when they first came

  462. to Malaysia, really Malaysia, they didn't want to stay long in Malaysia.

  463. They were actually looking at, you know, migrating to another developed country.

  464. I will not say where, Yeah, you can ask them later. And

  465. in the early years that they were in cyber this was just like a temporary

  466. pit stop for them. But then later on right, God really changed their

  467. hearts and they've come to a point of surrender to God. Where God,

  468. if Malaysia is where you want us to be, then we're willing to be

  469. here as long as you place us here. And they themselves have actually acknowledged

  470. that they have grown so much in their faith by being here that if they

  471. had gone to somewhere maybe more developed. Yes, on the outside they may

  472. have a more comfortable and enjoyable life, but their spirit may not have grown

  473. as how they were here in ex cyber Jaya. Now it's not about ex

  474. Hyberjaya, okay, but it's about being where God wants you to be being

  475. at his first choice. If God plants you in Timbaktu and that's his first

  476. choice for you, stay there, Okay, it's not the place is where

  477. God's first choice is for you. So that that is a real example of

  478. how when we allow ourselves to be planted in God's first choice for us,

  479. we grow and we become such a blessing. I mean, how many of

  480. you have been so blessed by r J and Ninya their lives, you know,

  481. really so faithful in serving and loving people, you know, just you

  482. know, so encouraging, and they have grown to in faith. And so

  483. this is an example of God's purpose for us. Okay, now let's move

  484. on to the next point. Okay, the second point D is discipleship.

  485. Okay, discipleship, and I know that we talked quite a lot about it

  486. at homes. Now let's read first Thessalonians chapter two, chapter one, verse

  487. two to verse seven. Okay, here we go. We give thanks to

  488. God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, remembering

  489. before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness

  490. of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ verse four. For we know, brothers

  491. loved by God, that He has chosen you. Verse five. Because our

  492. gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in

  493. the Holy Spirit, and with full conviction. You know what kind of men

  494. we prove to be among you for your sake Verse six. And you became

  495. imitators of Us and of the Lord, for you received the Word in much

  496. affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit. Verse seven, so that

  497. you become an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in a chair,

  498. basically the whole Greece, because these two provinces make up the nation of Greece.

  499. Right, Okay, so I'm going to jump to yeah, this verse,

  500. let's keep it on this verse. Here we learned in homes about discipleship,

  501. right, and what is discipleship. It basically means to imitate the person

  502. that you are following. And this is what the church in Thessalonica did.

  503. They imitated Paul and the team that planted their church, and they didn't stop

  504. there. They didn't keep the goodness to themselves. They passed on what they're

  505. caught from Paul and the team by living it out and teaching others by being

  506. an example to all the believers in the whole of Greece. Wow. So

  507. this paks discipleship that they were willing to follow after God through Paul and the

  508. team, and they lifted out and they passed it on to other believers in

  509. Greece. That's a disciple, one who follows and passes it on to others

  510. to follow them. And so this was an affirmation that church we are to

  511. continue to grow in discipleship. You know how many of you here have been

  512. blessed by ex Cyber Jaya. I have been. If I can lift up

  513. two legs and two hands, I would. I've been so blessed being here.

  514. But you know, PASSI ject, why don't you stand for a while.

  515. Yeah, it's a good spot to be in. Ha haha. Now,

  516. if Pastor Jack was not a disciple of Pastor Kennev, we would not

  517. have ex Ciber JayR today. Pasta Kenneff started discipling Pastor Jack many years ago,

  518. maybe twenty one twenty two years ago around there, and Passa Jack was

  519. just a fresh grat. Yeah, and so Passa Kenna started discipling Pasta Jack,

  520. and Pasta Jack allowed Pasta Kennev to disciple him, and down the road

  521. Pasta Kennev felt led by God to send Passa Jack out to Cyberjaya to plant

  522. ex cyber JayR in two thousand and eight. So we're now sixteen years old

  523. as a church. If Passa Jack was not a disciple of Pastor Kennev,

  524. and of course of God, he wouldn't have come here to plant ex ciber

  525. JayR. And we will not have ex ciber JayR today. Now, thank

  526. you Passa Jack. Have a seat, all right. I want all the

  527. okay, I want all the Home leaders to stand here, all the Home

  528. leader to stand see why one okay see Y two see Y two see Y

  529. three, Okay see Y four, me see Y five Okay see Y six,

  530. c Y seven see Y nine. S Yes we'll call definitely yes,

  531. not yet yeah, not yet, not yet, not yet and SB one

  532. last but not leave, save the best for the last. Yes, okay,

  533. these are all our precious home leaders. Okay, remain standing. Now.

  534. How many of you have been blessed by homes? You know, the

  535. fellowship, the food, the love, the fun, the support, the

  536. faith. You know. Man, I love my home. Okay, see

  537. why for all yeah, But do you know that each of the home leaders

  538. that you're seeing here now, each of them is a disciple of someone.

  539. None of them are their own men or woman. Each of them follows someone

  540. in God, and each of them also are leading many under their care to

  541. God. If our home leaders were not disciples, first, we will not

  542. have homes in ex Church, No homes. All right, thank you have

  543. a seen so you get where I'm Do you get where I'm going at that?

  544. It is disciples that truly make the difference in our lives and in the

  545. world. And that's why discipleship is so key to Jesus. What was his

  546. final words to us the Great Commission in Matthew twenty eight, Jesus says,

  547. go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the

  548. Father, Son and Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I've commanded

  549. you, and I'm with you to the end of age. Jesus didn't say,

  550. go and make converts of all nations. Jesus didn't even say, go

  551. and make believer us of all nations. Jesus said, make disciples, because

  552. it is disciples that would truly make the difference disciples. That's why Exhiberjaya was

  553. planted disciples. That's why we have homes disciples. That's why we have our

  554. faith and our church today. Even though Jesus has gone back to heaven more

  555. than two thousand years ago, we have many Jesus walking on the face of

  556. the earth. Do you know that Christians were called Christians because the people around

  557. them saw Jesus in their lives. Christians means little christ So when people call

  558. us Christians, they're saying, you are a little version of Jesus in my

  559. life. And Jesus himself followed after the Father and he made disciples, and

  560. we want to follow after that. Okay, So I want to encourage your

  561. friends, if you are if you are not, you know, being disciples,

  562. yet, I want to encourage you to get disciples, all right.

  563. And I know sometimes it's not easy to open up our lives and to allow

  564. someone else to disciple us. But let's pray and ask the Lord to make

  565. us more ready, help us with our fears, all right? And yes,

  566. and as you feel more ready, why don't you talk to your homes

  567. leader and your homesteader will be able to guide you a little bit more on

  568. how to get started with your discipleship journey. And let me tell you it's

  569. like getting married and having a baby. You can never be fully ready.

  570. When ask anyone who has gotten married or had a baby, when have you

  571. fully felt ready to get married? Sorry? Rather too late? The ship

  572. has sailed, the train has last the station, he has gone through outer

  573. space? Too late? Rather too late? Sorry? When have you ever

  574. felt ready to be a parent? You can never be fully ready to get

  575. married or to be a parent. It's the same with discipleship. Why do

  576. we wait until you're fully ready? Because we will never fully be ready for

  577. discipleship. We sometimes got to just take that step of faith and say,

  578. God, if you have caught me to do it, I will do it,

  579. even though I don't feel fully ready or like it, but I want

  580. to obey your commandment. To please you is my highest calling and desire.

  581. Amen. Amen. And also in in ex Church, here you know our

  582. disciples, our pastors started church with discipleship in mind. Pastor Kenneth Pasta Sandra

  583. started ex Church twenty four years ago in the year two thousand and They started

  584. ex Church not to become famous, not to become big, but to make

  585. disciples. If you want to know, the heartbeat of X Church is to

  586. make disciples that make the difference. So we're big on discipleship. It's our

  587. DNA, and we believe in discipleship. You know, of the same gender.

  588. So brother to brother, sister to sister to save, guard each other's

  589. interests and marriages and families and so in ex Church, our discipleship is called

  590. huddles. Huddles. Huddles is the name that we give to our discipleship system.

  591. And so Pastor Kenneth, who is our spiritual father, disciples about twenty

  592. four men under his care here in Malaysia. Globally, he also disciples more

  593. in our global plants. And each of the twenty four men under him,

  594. they are called the Huddle one and Huddle one plus because it's the first generation

  595. of Huddle. They also disciple their own huddles. Same for Passsandra, our

  596. spiritual mom. She disciples about twenty four ladies as well under her care,

  597. and they are called the Huddle one and Huddle one plus women. And I'm

  598. one of the Huddle one. Uh you know women that are that have the

  599. privilege to be discipled by Passsandra, I was telling my homies I've been discipled

  600. by her by twenty for twenty one years, and they all went, wow,

  601. we're not even twenty one years old. In our mates, So I

  602. started before some of you were born. And how God got me started on

  603. this journey's another story for another time. But yeah. So and then each

  604. of us in Pasasandra's huddle, we have our own huddle. So those of

  605. you who are in my huddle year, you know who you are, and

  606. I always encourage, I always challenge even those of you who are in my

  607. huddle. Hey, don't just stop there, but look out for someone disciples.

  608. Someone have your own huddle as well. I remember there's a church in

  609. India that was very well known for multi generational discipleship that there were twenty six

  610. generations of disciples in that church. Twenty six generations. That means they're constantly

  611. birth discipling new people all the time. To have twenty six generations of disciples

  612. co exist at the same time. There's one of the churches in India.

  613. I'm sure they're more like that. Okay, so get disciples, all right.

  614. You can never be fully ready, but let's not choose to live life.

  615. Just always being ready. Let's choose to live life being obedient to God,

  616. because when we are obedient to God, then God makes us ready.

  617. Amen, man, Okay, Now, the final point we're going to close

  618. after this. The third point is F which stands for faith. All right,

  619. Now, we're going to read first Thessalonians Chapter one, verse eight four,

  620. and verse eight to verse ten. Okay, For not only has the

  621. word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedonia and a chair, but

  622. your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say

  623. anything, for they themselves report concerning us the kind of reception we had among

  624. you, and how you turn to God from idols to serve the Living and

  625. True God, and to wait for his son from heaven, whom he raised

  626. from the dead, Jesus, who delivers us from the wrath to come in

  627. men. Now Here in verse eight, right, we see that the Gospel

  628. is not just the word of the Lord going out through us, but the

  629. Gospel of God also includes the demonstration of our faith in God. I know

  630. that this year. You know, the theme that God has given ex church

  631. is that all may know, and sometimes we feel pleasured that in order for

  632. all to know we have got to talk a lot, and we must know

  633. a lot. Then only people will know. But I want to encourage you

  634. enlighten your burden, to let you know that it is not just in words

  635. that the Gospel of God will spread. It's also in your actions, your

  636. choices lived out in faith. So it's okay if you don't have a lot

  637. to say. Not everyone has equal amounts of words to say. It's okay.

  638. What women ten thousand a day? Right? Men? Less than a

  639. thousand today a day. Some people talk more, some people talk less.

  640. It's not about who can talk more. Okay. I thank God for this

  641. scripture that it's not just words that's gonna help all to know. It's also

  642. our faith, and our faith many times goes beyond our words. It's our

  643. the choices that we make and the actions that we live out. Amen.

  644. And you know some examples of how we can demonstrate our faith. Let's look

  645. at verse nine the next light. Okay, so I've highlighted here turn to

  646. God. Turn to God means to worship him. If we can faithfully worship

  647. God in our lives, that is a demonstration of our faith. If we

  648. can faithfully worship God in church on Sundays, faithfully worship God in our quiet

  649. time. That will be a demonstration of your faith to the people around you.

  650. Sometimes you wonder, God, how can I help you save anyone just

  651. by coming to church, just by keeping my quiet time. Let me tell

  652. you that people are watching you. People are always watching us, and so

  653. they're watching how you live your life. Remember Daniel, people were watching him,

  654. how he worshiped God, how he prayed three times a day. And

  655. so yeah, okay, keep faithful at worshiping God in the public and in

  656. your private life. That will speak to someone. I'm going to end with

  657. a testimony in a while, Okay. The second way to demonstrate our faith,

  658. okay, is by serving God. When we faithfully serve God, others

  659. also see it as an expression of our faith. So never ever belittle your

  660. serving God, because that is a demonstration of your faith to people around you.

  661. Finally, in verse ten, it says wait for his son from heaven.

  662. This talks about hope. When we speak a different language than the language

  663. of the world, the world's language, a lot of times ends up in

  664. hopelessness. Hopelessness feels like the language of the world for everything that's happening things

  665. always feel very hopeless. But if we get speak a different language than the

  666. language of the world, which is the language of God, the language of

  667. hope, that will also demonstrate your faith to people around you. How will

  668. you respond at work? How will you respond in your school? How will

  669. you respond in your home your community? When some problem comes at you?

  670. Are you going to follow the rest and say, yah, live is hopeless?

  671. La dai la you know? Or are you going to speak a different

  672. language, the language of hope, which is the language of heaven. The

  673. language of hope is the language of heaven. It is the kingdom language.

  674. No one else has hope except the children of God. No one else knows

  675. this secret language, which God doesn't want it to remain a secret. So

  676. come on, church, let's speak the language of hope in our lives,

  677. and that is the demonstration of our faith. When everyone says it cannot happen,

  678. we say it can happen. When everyone says it cannot be done,

  679. we say it can be done. When everyone says it's impossible, we say

  680. it's possible. Because we have Jesus, who is our living hope, and

  681. we speak the language of Heaven, which is the language of hope, not

  682. the language of earth, which is the language of hopelessness. Amen. I

  683. just want to share a quick story that I hope ties in our learning points

  684. today. P D F. What does P stand for purpose? What does

  685. D stand for discipleship? What does F stand for faith? Amen? Well

  686. done, very good students. Amen. Okay, Now, so last night

  687. I was having just casual dinner with Paster Jack's siblings and their families, and

  688. so I had a chat with my sister in law, Rachel. So Rachel

  689. is married to Albert Jack's brother. So Rachel is my sister in law and

  690. she actually works in Cyberjaya. Yeah, and so she is actually the assistant

  691. church plan coordinator for exctacmoning, one of our other plans. And she she

  692. came to me over dinner, said, Chill, I got to share something

  693. with you. And so she started to share her story with me. Basically,

  694. she has this childhood friend from young Okay, it's a guy, and

  695. uh, when when they were young together, my sister in law would always

  696. try to share the Gospel with this friend. I don't know his namer,

  697. but this friend and she will always try and invite him to church. She

  698. will she also give him a physical Bible when she was young, and she's

  699. been praying for him to know Jesus because at that time he didn't know Jesus

  700. yet. But for men years as they were growing up, he remained very

  701. close to God and the Gospel, okay. And so then they grew up,

  702. they had their own lives, right, they started working, getting married,

  703. have their family. So this childhood friend, right, he's actually from

  704. Malaysia, but he married a wife from China and they settled down in Hong

  705. Kong and he got a job in Singapore. Complicated, not from Malaysia,

  706. China, Hong Kong, Singapore, godwise, okay. Anyways, so for

  707. the last few years in his life, he had to leave his family in

  708. Hong Kong and to work in Singapore on his own, and every weekend he

  709. would fly back to be with his family in Hong Kong. While can you

  710. imagine the I know the dedication, right and all the sacrifice, And he's

  711. been doing that for years, and he wonders to himself, why on earth

  712. am I working in Singapore alone away from my family when my family is in

  713. Hong Kong. He's been wondering to himself for years now. But God had

  714. a bigger purpose of him being in Singapore. So what happened was, so

  715. this guy, according to my sister in law, from young, by nature,

  716. he's a worrier. He's a worrier. He worries about everything and anything.

  717. And maybe some of us here are like that, We are worriers by

  718. nature. I want to prophesy that the Lord will turn you into a warrior

  719. and no longer a warrior. Amen in Jesus name, and all who want

  720. to receive it say Amen, okay Amen. Now he's been a warrior by

  721. nature, and he's been through quite a lot in life as well. So

  722. he's been quite downtrodden. He's been feeling quite low. But what happened was

  723. in his company in Singapore. A lot of his colleagues are actually Christians,

  724. disciples of God, and God used them to make a difference in his life.

  725. So although they may not have had direct conversations about God in the open,

  726. but he has been observing their life. He's been looking at the lives

  727. of his Christian colleagues and he notices one thing about them, which is their

  728. faith in God. Although they've never preached to him openly. While he's working

  729. in Singapore, but he can read faith from their lives, and that began

  730. to spark a curiosity in this guy because he he sees his colleagues living by

  731. faith in their everyday life, not like they are preaching in church from the

  732. stage, not like there's some big time leader in God, but they're just

  733. being faithful to be disciples of God and live out their faith in their everyday

  734. life at work. And he observes their faith, he takes it in and

  735. then on his own he secretly prays to God and say, God, if

  736. you are as real as what my colleagues show you to be, then hear

  737. my prayers. So he starts praying in the secret. For every challenge that

  738. he comes across, he experiments, he tries praying to God seeing whether God

  739. works or not. And every time that he faces a problem and he prays,

  740. God always comes true for this guy. I cannot tell you all the

  741. examples now, but suffice to summarize that He always comes true for this guy

  742. at the right time, with the right answer. It's like a you know,

  743. like this guy is like well a baby in God's eyes. Whatever he

  744. asked for, God just gives it to him. To a point that his

  745. own faith is built up. And so I recently he reconnected with another one

  746. of my sister in law's childhood friend and they had a conversation, and this

  747. time they were openly talking about God. And this other childhood friend is a

  748. girl. Actually, in the past recent months, God has been putting this

  749. guy's name and face in her mind repeatedly, but she didn't know how to

  750. approach him and talk about God. And I can understand that because remember my

  751. story, I dreamt of my friend a few times. It was God given,

  752. and yet I didn't know how to approach her. Finally, God made

  753. away. So for this guy who was talking to this girl, their childhood

  754. friends, and they were talking about God recently, and he came to a

  755. point to say, you know what, I acknowledge God is real because I've

  756. seen Him through the people around me their faith, and as I try out

  757. with God, I've seen him work in my own life. So tell me,

  758. how can I invite this God into my life? So he asked the

  759. other childhood friend, how can Jesus come into my life and be my God

  760. close personal, not just from a distance anymore. And so he gave his

  761. heart to Jesus and yeah, and so yesterday my sister in law had a

  762. conversation with him and he shared with her this story. And when I heard

  763. it over dinner, my heart and my spirit leaped. No really, I

  764. was like, Wow, God, so amazing, how you touched him and

  765. you saved him. And this story really at capsulates what we're talking about today.

  766. God had a purpose for this man to be positioned in Singapore, although

  767. it wasn't the easiest of circumstances. And the people around him at work,

  768. the believers, they lived out as disciples of God. They lived out their

  769. faith and because of that, he saw Jesus true them and decided to experiment

  770. with God. And when he tasted God for himself and saw that God is

  771. good and real, finally he opened his life to Jesus. Can you see

  772. how God works everything out like a big jigsaw puzzle. Amazing? So,

  773. friends, let's continue to live by purse. Let's continue to grow as disciples

  774. of God. Let's continue to live by faith because you never know how when

  775. you live your life by purpose, you live your life as a disciple of

  776. Christ, you live your life by faith, it might just draw someone to

  777. God around you. You never know, like this man. I'm sure his

  778. colleagues never imagined that. Wow, just by them being faithful disciples in their

  779. everyday life, it drew him to God. Okay, ex hiber Jaya,

  780. can we do this Amen? We hope you've been blessed by this message.
