You're listening to a message to go from acts Church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
What I'm gonna share today, all right, I won't take
-
too long because you know, uh, I mean, praise God
-
for all the you know, praise reports that we heard today.
-
Uh, they're still good. Uh. And thanks for the testimony
-
as well. Audrey.
-
Yeah.
-
Uh, you know, God will work through you.
-
You know, you know, matter where you are, whatever, you know,
-
you're you're you know you're going through.
-
Uh.
-
And uh, you know she was not really thinking about
-
praying at first, but then you know, I think the
-
spirit of God moved her to say, let's prayer.
-
Let's pray all right? Uh. And uh, you know, be
-
open to that.
-
You know, maybe you're not used to doing some things,
-
but at that situation, at that moment, if you feel
-
that prompting, Uh, it can't be anything else but God's spirit.
-
If there's if someone something is causing you to want
-
to pray, it can't be anything else. It's definitely old
-
God's spirit prompting you please pray all right and see
-
something happened.
-
Amen.
-
So let's be open to more of the move of
-
the Holy Spirit in our lives. All right, So thank
-
you Audrey for sharing that powerful testimony. May there be more, more,
-
more stories all right in your life, and it's so powerful,
-
you know, if you can share it with somebody anyway.
-
I just want to pick up from where alder Kenya, you.
-
Know, was sharing last week.
-
He was here, and he spoke a very powerful message
-
that you know, sometimes we will say it's rarely spoken
-
nowadays about what but what anyone remembers? What was he
-
talking about? Testing about suffering that nobody realizes we talk
-
about it, all right, As he said, you know, nobody
-
sees suffering and wants to walk into it like avoid it?
-
Man? Of course, why do I want to walk into fire?
-
And you know danger?
-
But but then you know, we see the life of
-
Jesus and he walks into it. Of course he did pray, Lord,
-
if you can take this cup away from me? Yeah,
-
but nevertheless your will not mine, right, and he still
-
walks into the suffering. All right, So how lot Jesus
-
does that? And so we kind of follow him. We
-
learned from him, and we kind of need to follow
-
how he does it.
-
Right.
-
Of course we don't have to, you know, Die and
-
CRUSI get crucified unless the lot you know, you know,
-
unless some of us might need to go through some
-
of that kind of persecution, right, because there are many
-
many Christians right been tortured around the world, including people
-
here in Malaysia. But what I'm saying is, our Lord,
-
it's not afraid of some suffering, all right, and so
-
the same for us.
-
I want to encourage all of us.
-
Don't again, don't be afraid of suffering, because there is
-
a greater reward. It's something even better than, you know,
-
than the suffering that you're about to go through. So
-
don't let that stop you, all right. So I want
-
to pick up from there. What else can you share?
-
Uh?
-
You know, just a quick story, all right, you know ours,
-
you know, our family. We took a break and we
-
were traveling for a short while. All right, praise God
-
for all the provision all that he has blessed us with.
-
But you know, in uh during the break, uh, I
-
actually committed to do a fast with uh, you know,
-
with the management of the Victory Academy, you know management,
-
and I was supposed to fast one of the days.
-
But then you know, sometimes in holiday, if you're like,
-
you know, discount, no, you understand all this kind of stuff.
-
Right. I went on holiday, right, like, let me take
-
a break from all this stuff. Right.
-
But then I was convicted and I felt like I
-
need to commit to it. I've committed to it, let
-
me go through with it. I will still do a fast,
-
right for one of the breaks. Yeah, I'll miss some
-
of the luxury stuff there, you know that you paid
-
for you want to enjoy. But I did because also,
-
you know, in our text in the management pass, the
-
Kenneth also said, you know he's in London, right, London food,
-
you know, enjoy. You can enjoy stuff there as well.
-
But then he said, I'm so fasting. I'm going to
-
continue fasting, you know. Then I said, oh, yeah, me too, right,
-
And so we just went on with it. I fasted especially,
-
I mean I they didn't eat all the you know,
-
uh yummy food. I kept to like vegetables, you know,
-
and fruits that day. And also I first said, coffee.
-
Coffee is all my word, my bit an addiction, lie,
-
oxygen is almost I can to an extent. Now if
-
I don't take the coffee, I do get a headache,
-
all right, And it's okay, it's okay, it's Okay, it's normal.
-
All right, there's some reading. Uh, it's not exactly like
-
a drug problem. It's it's just normal because you're you're
-
a bit dependent on the caffeine to you know, wake
-
you up. But because and so when you stop drinking
-
for a day or two, you will get that heading.
-
But after that you will be all right. Okay, so
-
it's not really a big issue. So all right, any
-
coffee addicts here, okay. So yeah, so it's not that bad,
-
lie if you really you know, I want to overcome it.
-
Just kip one two days to be a headache. It's fine.
-
So anyway, I got a headache that that day and
-
we did all the activity with a headache that I
-
had to go through. And this reminded me of like suffering, suffering,
-
don't be afraid of it, because I want to see
-
a breakthrough. I want to see a breakthrough for our school,
-
you know, and what we're doing.
-
And so we continue to do that, and.
-
Just just reminded me of the message don't be afraid
-
of suffering. Yeah, you know, I've come to this place.
-
You know.
-
When I first joined ex church, I you know, I
-
was full of myself, full of myself, I was concerned
-
about my identity, you know, how people looked at me,
-
how you know how I felt. And so when I
-
joined the church and when I wanted to start serving,
-
I had to change a lot of things, like coming
-
on time, you know, because last time I had this
-
rockstar mentality come anytime, I like a right, rockstars always
-
come late, you know that kind of So I had
-
to change all that because when I want to start serving,
-
I have to come earlier. And then I have to
-
dress up. I have to dress up. A lot of
-
people don't like this idea I have to. You have
-
to dress up. You have to wear clothes that you
-
don't normally wear. All right, this is now normal for me,
-
this normal clothing already, but those days to want to
-
dress up in it.
-
Firstly, I have to save up money.
-
You have to buy, all right, a wardrobe, new new
-
set of clothes that I don't normally have. Right, I
-
have to look like a working person now, you know,
-
I know, I know, you know sometimes in in next
-
church we talk about clothing, right, I know, many many
-
churches they dress up with a lot of style, all right,
-
But we decided that when we serve, especially when we meet,
-
we dressed our best. Uh and uh, you know, put
-
on a suit, put on a tie if you can,
-
all right, because you know when you meet a prime
-
minister you will dress up like that. Right, when you
-
meet the sultan or the king, you will dress up properly, right,
-
you won't go casual.
-
Right, So you know that idea is similar.
-
You know when you meet the king of kings, dressed
-
up like you're going to meet the king.
-
Amen.
-
So yeah, it's not very comfortable. A lot of people
-
don't like that idea, and so same with me. I
-
had to go shopping by find the best deal. You
-
know that, don't don't blow your your bank account, so
-
all right, and so clothing on time. My hair, my
-
hair heay right, Same with with Adril. We had long
-
Adel had longer hair. You know before this, right, I
-
had to super like this long hair only because I
-
didn't want to spend money cutting my hair.
-
So that.
-
But but then it became like now I need to
-
have my I need to keep my hair, right. I
-
had money, really, I didn't still didn't want to cut
-
my hair, so because I also used to having that hair, right,
-
and so uh, nobody forced me to cut my hair.
-
Some comments that he really see very long, you know,
-
but eventually I felt, you know, like, okay, I need
-
to idea and so all these things.
-
Right, It's it's about identity, right you. You you have this.
-
Thing line, you know, this flesh, and because of oneting
-
to serve, I had to sacrifice, you know, I had
-
to obey I now you know, need to listen to
-
leaders and authority, and I just wanted to share this
-
bit of experience for all of us here, all right.
-
That Uh, then I had to go through that, and
-
I'm sure many different ones of you you're kind going
-
through a bit of that as well. All right, But
-
that's the part that's the price to pay. We want
-
to serve, We want to we need to align, We
-
need to know what the vision is.
-
Uh.
-
We we we are going through discipleship. And uh that's
-
kind of the message I want to share with us today,
-
all right, that why we serve and why we go
-
through this is because it's it's a process of discipleship.
-
You know, when the Bible tells us make disciples, how
-
do you make disciples? I mean, you can have all
-
the Bible study you want, but if there's no action,
-
there is no obedience. There is no Okay, I will
-
come on time because my leader told me to.
-
Then there's no there's no real discipleship. It's just talk.
-
It's just share good ideas from the Bible.
-
Right, But in into the life, you know, being part
-
of homes and serving and being part of church and
-
now someone challenging you. That's real. That's where it gets real,
-
isn't it. And uh, you know we have c CEC.
-
You remember you saw just now a video very good, right,
-
Prai Scott. But all these people they also go through
-
a process, right, And some of them come maybe thinking
-
I know a lot of things, how to teach children
-
and everything. But maybe the leaders say, hey, stop, I
-
don't want you to do this. You do this instead
-
do this other thing. Hey, but I'm so good in this.
-
Why don't you let me? I said no, because someone
-
else is already doing this, right, I want you to
-
go through this other thing.
-
Right.
-
Those of you who at a missions conference, you remember
-
the pastor Surias this story about like you know, they
-
want to join the tourist ministry.
-
She said go wash toilet first. Right, That's that's one
-
of their ways to do it, all right, we don't
-
follow here the wash line. All right, if we had
-
no just kidding, all right, then the X kids you
-
can start watching. But no, all right, all right, we're
-
not here to purposely make you do stuff like that
-
that is downright, you know, and dirty, but more like uh,
-
you know, like I said, there's people who join. Now
-
they have to listen and follow. All right.
-
There is authority, there's leadership, there's alignment. So anyway, let
-
me get into the Bible. X chapter six, verse one
-
to seven. All right, X Chapter six, verse one to seven.
-
You have bibles, you can turn with me. Okay, let's read.
-
X Chapter six ver was one two. All right, you're there,
-
all right, let's read. All right, I'll read it now.
-
In these days, when the disciples were increasing in number,
-
a complained by the Hellenists arose against the Hebrews because
-
their widows were being neglected in the daily distribution.
-
And the twelfth summoned.
-
The full number of the disciples and said, it is
-
not right that we should give up preaching the word
-
of God to serve tables. Therefore, brothers, pick out from
-
among you seven men of good repute, full of the
-
spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty,
-
but we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the
-
ministry of the Word. And what they said please the
-
whole gathering. And they chose Stephen, Stephen Stephan, all right,
-
a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit.
-
And Philip and pro.
-
Procons there is you know, pro chorus, all right, Nico Noor,
-
Timon Parmenas and Nicolas proselyte from Antio. Okay, these they
-
said before the apostles, and they prayed and laid their
-
hands on them. And the word of God continued to increase,
-
and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem,
-
and a great many of the priests became obedient to
-
the faith. Harley lujah. So we look at this X
-
chapter six, verse one seven. What do we see here?
-
So what's going on is there's a need, their needs, right,
-
and so you know, the apostles were trying to meet
-
the needs. And so one of the he challenged, they
-
challenged the people, right, Uh, you know, can someone else
-
step up and help? Because we need to concentrate on
-
what we need to do, all right, And I wanna
-
say this here to us as well this morning, ex
-
church cybergaya, right, there are many things to be there
-
are many needs to be mad. And although sometimes we
-
see all right, we look around and go, hey, everything's
-
in place, right right. We've got the sound guys there,
-
they're sitting there right all every Sunday we see, you know,
-
this guy's there, so final.
-
I think everything is filled up really right?
-
Good ex kids, got four teachers today, all right, look
-
at the expresso table, nicely place already all done, flag
-
up there, all right, well done, all right, expresso team.
-
Uh and uh you know we see c CEC we
-
have a praise report. All good, right, everyone is doing
-
their stuff, and so do I still need to be
-
part of it? Do I still need to contribute? I
-
tell you the truth. Yes, yes you still need to.
-
We still need to because there's so much more to
-
be done. A man, all right, and I want to
-
I want to say again, you know, excit with Jaya.
-
We're not limited to the one hundred people who are
-
here only every Sunday. There's many more that needs to
-
be reached. There's many more that need to come to
-
a church. And sometimes you know, if we see the
-
seats all full already, then naturally you've got to a
-
fool real you need to come, all right. So you
-
know that's where we might want to go with next church.
-
Brant all right, where and when?
-
All right?
-
But what I'm saying is the church needs to serve.
-
Everyone in the church needs to think about that. Where
-
can I serve?
-
You know?
-
You know if you go with statistics, you know, with
-
many many different churches, right, many times we will see
-
twenty percent serving the eighty percent. All right, Praise God.
-
Ext church is at a better place at least you
-
know in Xabajaya. You know, I think there's definitely more
-
than twenty percent serving, all right. But you know we
-
have a vision. We spoke about this before in one
-
of our leaders meetings. You say, we don't see twenty
-
percent serving the eighty percent, but we want to see
-
it eighty percent serving the twenty percent. We call this
-
the key health indicators. Is the church healthy if we
-
if we can see eighty percent serving you know, the
-
twenty percent, who are the new people. Maybe they're new,
-
they just came, all right, no risk you the some time, right,
-
But then eighty percent serving the twenty percent.
-
That is healthy, Amen, hallelujah. And so.
-
That's what we want to see and I want to
-
encourage you, all right, don't you know, don't just hear
-
what I say and then you feel like, you know,
-
I'm pushing you or something like that, although I kind
-
of am. But you know, go by what the Holy
-
Spirit is leading you to do.
-
Amen.
-
I really love what Ninya told me the other day,
-
you know, because you know we need many more singers laugh,
-
you know, and worship leaders, and we know Ninya can sing.
-
So we've been asking you, how, Nina, when will you
-
join you know, the extreme team.
-
But you know what her reply to me is, he said,
-
she said, let me pray for us.
-
Wow, all right, that's that's that's the right way, all right,
-
seek the Lord, right, let me pray because she's involved
-
with many many other teams and so she doesn't want
-
to just leave the team and say, yeah, I gotta
-
sing right now, right, so goodbye other teams all right,
-
because they're all important as well.
-
So I really love that response.
-
And she said, let me get in to pray for this,
-
and then if I do need to step down from
-
other teams, I want to do it properly. And that's
-
the right way. That is discipleship. Amen, hallelujah. So thanks
-
Ninya for doing that. I was so inspired just by
-
hearing the response, you know, from her, And so I
-
want to encourage all of us to do similar.
-
All right, pray, pray about it. God, Where do you
-
want me to serve? God?
-
Where do you want my children to serve? How do
-
you want us to serve? And go by what the
-
spirit of God is telling you, because that is more
-
powerful than what I'm telling you. All right And you say, oh,
-
just because pass jack La tell me to do it,
-
so I do. Then it's like I rather not all right,
-
I am encouraging you from the word of God, but
-
I want you, I want to encourage you to be
-
led by God and where He wants you to be,
-
where He wants you to serve. And I believe that's
-
even more powerful. And you know you're going to change
-
many lives through that because He is going to be
-
with you.
-
Amen, everyone, okay, all right? And of course.
-
You know when you want to start serve, this is
-
where you know we our church will continue to do
-
this like for example, actually I just did up the
-
form for our choir.
-
Yeah yeah, yeah.
-
All right, So our homes leaders all right to just
-
send it into their homes group and right, it doesn't
-
have to be now, you know, but sometime this week
-
and say, anyone who wants to sign up, you can
-
fill in the form. All right, And we also thought
-
about doing this. Now we're going to add a percussion group.
-
All right, maybe start with children because you're going to
-
buy the children percussion.
-
Because the real stuff is quite expensive.
-
In like two hundred and three hundred year like what okay, anyway,
-
but the children said, still good, We'll go with that first.
-
Let the children start, all right, but listen, when you
-
see the former, you see the form, you will see
-
homes coode. Ah, there's this way because that's what I'm
-
saying here. When we encourage serving, we are also encourage
-
encouraging discipleshit all right, you've gotta something has to change,
-
that something has to be given up because you're giving
-
a sacrifice of praise to God.
-
And so homes Coode is there.
-
And then there's a there's a bit of a you know,
-
disclaimer that that says uh uh there will be uh
-
you know, an audition percussion h h choet. All right,
-
don't worry. I don't expect you to sing like who
-
are the famous singers nowadays. I don't know anyway, Michael
-
Jackson or anything.
-
All right. It's like so old school gone okay, all right?
-
Uh and Sharon okay, okay, all right, or super shy.
-
You know, I don't expect you to sing like those, okay,
-
but there will be some audition just to know what
-
will come out of you when you sing, all right,
-
Just to know all right, and also the percussion, right
-
if this person is not.
-
Going to hit it all right, a bit more to
-
the beat, all right. I'm not expecting like what they
-
call studio, you know, metronome, but.
-
Just to know where you are at.
-
You know, all these assessments are there just to check where
-
this person is at.
-
And then if you need more training, ah, then we
-
see if we can provide it. All right. So what
-
was I saying? Yeah, so serving is is where we
-
do discipleship.
-
Yeah, and uh, that's where we might also go with
-
like all right, if you're going to join the choir
-
into dress up a.
-
Bit la all right. Uh.
-
And you know recently I had one person say they
-
wanted to play the cahn uh and uh, you know
-
this was a kid, and so I said, oh, okay,
-
because I know this person, I said, okay, I'll put
-
your probation first.
-
I talked to the I spoke to the parents. Put
-
on probation first.
-
What this person will do is just come for the
-
practice only and play one song at the practice. After
-
that you go back to where you stand with your parents.
-
I won't put you on so fast, all right, and
-
you know quite quite good, you know, okay, let's do that.
-
And then when this person came right brought the cah
-
and everything played, you know, together for the practice. And
-
uh then I said, oh, you're in shorts.
-
Practice only a right kill this, you know, some slack.
-
But I said in shorts, said next time, next time,
-
dress up.
-
A little bit more, all right, because can be blink
-
on with shorts.
-
I'm preparing this person because when the time they actually
-
will be playing, you can suddenly say it no no, no,
-
no no shots all this one you practice have can shorts,
-
but now cannot.
-
It's like, all right, dress up a little bit.
-
So I can see that, you know, and this this
-
this person is child. It's like Mommy could bring my
-
long pans. I can see meaning they are willing, they
-
are willing to be molded. They're willing you know pass
-
I knd of told me this before.
-
You know.
-
It's like we're like clay, and if we're willing, then
-
we can mold the clay, all right. If not, if
-
you don't hand the clay all right to the person
-
who can help mold you, then no molding.
-
All right.
-
We always say I want only Jesus to mold, mean,
-
but Jesus wants to use.
-
The people around us to mold. Right.
-
He loves the people, He trusts his people, his leaders,
-
all right, And that's why we're around now right. Otherwise
-
you can go straight to heaven and get molded by Jesus,
-
all right.
-
That's why we're still here. We're molding one another. Amen.
-
Iron sharpens iron, right, Okay, all right, Wow, I don't
-
think I have much time. Let me see, right, so
-
let's just yeah, let's just read the Bible a little
-
bit more, huh. All right, I'm going to go to
-
Matthew twenty verse seventeen to nineteen. Everyone doing, all right,
-
you're getting something here, yeah, you.
-
Know, more and more.
-
I also want to speak you know, as the you know,
-
as the pastor of this house, all right, you know,
-
and not just give you Bible knowledge, but I want
-
to share with you real stuff, okay, real stuff that
-
help mold us, help make disciples of us. And I believe,
-
you know that's what the Holy Spirit is leading me
-
to do. So anyway, Matthew twenty seventeen to nineteen talks
-
about suffering, right, and that Jesus.
-
Okay, let's just read it right.
-
Verse seventeen says, here and as Jesus was going up
-
to Erusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside, and on
-
the way he said to them, see, we are going
-
up to Jerusalem, and the son of Man will be
-
delivered over to the chief priests and scribes, and they
-
will be condemned. Sorry, they will condemn him to death
-
and deliver him over to the gentiles to be mocked
-
and flogged and crucified, and he will be raised on
-
the third day.
-
Now listen.
-
In Verse seventeen says that Jesus, you know, they were
-
going up and then he took them aside. I want
-
to tell you that, you know, Jesus wants to take
-
us aside to speak to us, and he you know,
-
he's waiting to do that to many of us, and
-
he's probably doing that to many of us already, but
-
he wants to us, take us aside and tell us something.
-
And what is he telling us when he tells us
-
something like what he's telling them, He's telling them something amazing.
-
All right, listen to this. It might have just flown
-
by our heads. All right. What we just heard Jesus say.
-
Right, He's going to Jerusalem, he says, and the son
-
of Man will be delivered over to the cheap priests.
-
He is predicting his death. You know that nobody can
-
predict their death like this. It is so specific, all right?
-
How specific is this? He truly is the son of
-
God because there's no other religious leaders who can predict
-
their death like this. Jesus can. And it actually happens
-
exactly how he says it, all right. And that's why
-
he and he has no problems with going through that death,
-
because he knows what's at the end, after the death,
-
after the suffering, this resurrection, and that's why he's at
-
peace to go through it. Now, let's see how specific
-
this is, right, He delivered through the chief priests and
-
the scribes, which is, you know, his own people, the
-
Jews delivered there. And then what happens they will condemn him.
-
You read the gospel right, read at the end when
-
he what he actually goes through is this is exactly.
-
And they condemn him, but they cannot kill him by themselves,
-
and so they deliver him to the gentiles.
-
Who are the gentiles the Romans. He was delivered to
-
the Romans because.
-
They have the torture facilities, right, and so delivered over
-
to them. And what happened, and he says it very
-
specific gain to be mocked, And you see in the
-
gospel that Jesus was mocked, slap, was spat on, right,
-
made fun of all right, They gambled, you know, to
-
get his clothes.
-
They poked him, they tortured him, and they mocked him.
-
Flog this is one we know, right, forty was it
-
forty forty stripes?
-
Right?
-
Flogged and crucified. Crucified. You know that he doesn't have
-
to die by crucifixion. There are many ways to die,
-
and all that time in the Roman torture ways. But
-
how did he manage to predict that? He knew it's
-
he knew, he knew he could see her head. It
-
was probably already planned by God. This is the way,
-
and so that's why he's able to predicted. I want
-
to tell you that Jesus knows the future. He knows
-
how everything is going to happen. He knows how he's
-
going to die. So he knows how you're going to die.
-
So you want to know how you're.
-
Going to die?
-
You ask him, all right, and ask him for a
-
pleasant whaler you can, right, Lord, I want to be
-
around my family, right, ask ask for a good way,
-
all right, not a horrible one, because the Lord can
-
do that for us.
-
Amen. Right? And so.
-
This is amazing, and God wants to tell us something amazing.
-
When he tells you something, he pulls you aside, tells you.
-
He wants to tell you what you're gonna do. Yeah,
-
maybe there's some suffering, but I want to tell you something.
-
And then what they say in the end. Hey, always
-
sometimes we so focused on the crucified, the mocking, the flogging, like,
-
oh Lord, and no one, no one is, but thet's
-
it and he will be, everyone saying together raised on
-
the third day, he'll be raised back to life. That
-
is amazing, right, how can you even predict that? But
-
he's got no right, So listen, we hear the suffering part.
-
We hear the flogging, the mocking. But then let's hear
-
the last part as well. There will be resurrection, there
-
will be hope.
-
There's hope.
-
So whatever suffering we're going to go through, you're going
-
to surf on a choir. You've gotta wake up in
-
the morning like, ah, my breakfast, my sleep. You feel
-
like I'm being flogged. I'm gonna play what I like
-
to play, and then passon. Jacks won't tell me, don't
-
play like that this you know play you know? Yeah,
-
it's too loud, right, can you change?
-
Right? Then it's like, oh.
-
Puss Jack is mocking me and flogging me or whoever
-
a right, okay, and then say, but wait, there's resurrection.
-
Wait, there's hope.
-
You will die to yourself and then when you will
-
be raised up again as a new creation, hallelujah, new creation.
-
Amen. I will not play the same anymore.
-
I will not sing the same anymore, because after the
-
death and I rise up again and revived again, I
-
am a new person, and I serve differently. I speak differently,
-
all right, I come on time like different. I won't
-
have any problems with that. After this, and when I
-
go to union, I go to work, it's normal. Coming
-
on time, coming early is normal, because I do that
-
in church.
-
Right. And then you hear your friends complaining, you know,
-
why so early? Why later? Bit so cannot say, but
-
but that's right, that's the right thing to do, all right,
-
And and uh, you know, sooner or later someone's gonna
-
trust you because you can. You have discipline. That's where
-
what disciple comes from.
-
Right, you've disciplined, You're able to because I've learned this
-
in church. Let's learn it in church. Why you want
-
to learn anywhere else, right, Let's learn it in church.
-
Let's train in church. And when we go out there.
-
I learned this from the House of God. I learned
-
this from the House of God. How to speak right,
-
how to live right, how to encourage someone else, how
-
to lead?
-
We do it in church. Amen, they're gonna close soon,
-
all right.
-
You know the next parts of this, we just summarize it.
-
Verse twenty to twenty four. You will see the mother,
-
all right, of the sons of Zebedee. He says, here
-
came to Jesus and says, you know, Jesus, put them
-
at your left and your right hand. She's asking for status,
-
you know. But you know, many times we want status,
-
we want position, but we don't know what price we.
-
Have to pay for it.
-
Actually we know that, but a lot of people want
-
to avoid the suffering and the difficult part and go
-
straight to the status. Right, But there's a price to pay,
-
all right. And yeah, I'll move on to the last
-
parts here, which is verse twenty five to twenty eight.
-
I'll read that for us twenty five to twenty eight.
-
But Jesus called them to him and said, you know
-
that the rulers of the gentiles lauded over them, and
-
there are great ones exercise authority over them. It shall
-
not be so among you. But whoever would be great
-
among you must be your servant, and whoever would be
-
first among you, must be your slave. Even as the
-
Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve,
-
and to give his life as a ransom for many.
-
All right, So you know, the word of God here
-
tells us. You know, if we want to if we
-
want to see resurrection, we want to see hope, there
-
is some suffering involved.
-
You know.
-
The world encourages us to look for status and to
-
fight for our rights, but.
-
That is not why the word of God tells us to.
-
Do yeah, you want to be in a position there
-
is a price.
-
To pay, all.
-
Right, you want to instead of rights, we do what
-
is right instead. And then finally, here Jesus says, even Jesus,
-
who is of high position. Right, he's the son of God.
-
He says, I'm here to serve. I'm here to serve.
-
So if we follow our lord. Jesus is our lord. Yeah,
-
he's our master. Then let's follow him. He serves. Therefore
-
we serve, and he says, here to give his life
-
as a ransom for many.
-
What is ransom? My kids keep asking me Thatay, we
-
read the Bible together, ransom? Say what's ransom? Daddy? They
-
keep thinking about kidnapping.
-
You know, right, you have to pay ransom money right
-
by payment not ransom has to do with payment. There's
-
a price to pay, and so Jesus hay is a
-
price for many. And so the same thing with us
-
when we serve, there is a price to pay. There
-
is a price to pay the men, and to some
-
of us, you know, the price to pay feels very heavy.
-
But I want to tell you there is hope. There
-
is resurrection, all right, So let's focus on the reward.
-
The good thing all right, so that when you suffer,
-
it's just for that moment. You know, the people who
-
run one hundred meter race, they suffer, they run, they
-
train like crazy just for the few seconds, right to
-
run that one hundred meter race. And even in that race,
-
they're running like crazy, they're losing their breath, they're running,
-
their muscles are hurting, and that's suffering. But when they
-
reach the end, that's the gold medal and that's so much.
-
That's all worth it through all that suffering. So I
-
want to tell you, you know, we're all in a race together. Yeah,
-
and they're suffering. That's on pain involved, right, but it's
-
worth it. It's worth it.
-
Amen. Tell your neighbor it's worth it. Amen.
-
That's a reminder us again. Right, So now you pray,
-
you pray and seek God for where he wants you
-
to serve or continue to serve.
-
Amen.
-
There's so many platforms that we have, all right. There
-
is the the you know, the the communities that we're reaching.
-
There is the worship band that we need more people,
-
all right. There is the Expresso team.
-
You know.
-
Uh, I was just we were just talking about the
-
Expressow team right. Currently they're doing a wonderful, amazing job
-
they prepare you know, really well. But we think we're
-
saying we're talking about even like, what if we have
-
people who are called the front of house of expresso,
-
who will firstly tell the people who have been here
-
very long, the food.
-
Is not for you. Oh you've one made really amazing
-
nail and she offered me to tastey like okay, but anyway, yeah, yeah,
-
so they'll say, hey, food is for the newcomers. Come,
-
let's serve the new ones first. Yeah.
-
Uh and uh then I mean I'm thinking heyl, Right,
-
what if one day we have options, right, tea, coffee
-
or whatever, Right then the front of house can take
-
orders or would you like to drink? I mean, let
-
me make that for you? All right, let's let our
-
kitchen prepare that for you. You know, the front house
-
we wear apron whatever is like you know you you so,
-
so there's so many things that we can do.
-
All right. In the church, we hope you've.
