You're listening to a message to go from ax Church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day. God.
-
It was a safe trip throughout. No dramas, No major
-
dramas happened. Okay, for those of you who knew last
-
year when I went to Lahadatu form missions trip, there
-
was a major drama that happened with my plane. I
-
had an emergency landing. So pray it's got no major
-
dramas this round. It was a safe trip. It was
-
also a very full and full trip. It was very cold,
-
actually it was very cold. So there I stayed with
-
You can show the first picture. So I stayed with
-
pastor Joe, Delia and Sophie. Yeah, this is the morning
-
after the night before, Okay, the next morning after I
-
travel So I look super tired because it wasn't eight
-
our flight Okay, friends ate our flight and yeah the
-
moment I hit there, it was less than ten degrees
-
very cold.
-
So this was over breakfast Okay. Yeah.
-
I was staying with Pasta Joel, who is the lead
-
pastor of Ex Melbourne. He's actually very good friends with
-
Passa Jack. Yeah, they write songs together. Passa Joel and
-
I go back a long way. We were from the
-
same home church in JB. His mom was my school teacher,
-
so yeah, childhood friend literally and then you know, good
-
friends with my husband as well. So Passa Joel, the
-
lead pastor of Melbourne X Melbourne and his wife Dylan
-
and daughter Sophie. They hosted me for the time that
-
I was there. This is a part of their home,
-
so it's really good. Like I said, it was super cold, okay.
-
There was one day where the highest was just ten
-
degrees and the coldest was like four or five degrees.
-
So cold, okay, and it's supposed to be spring. Yeah,
-
my words.
-
So cold, so cold that when I wanted to go
-
to the toilet to do a number two, the moment
-
I sat down on the toilet seat, it's not a
-
heated seat, it's a cold seat, the number two didn't
-
want to come out, so I had to hold it
-
in until I went to the hotel which had a
-
heat seat.
-
Ah.
-
Then when I sat down, then only the number two
-
can come. It's real, okay, it's like so cold that
-
we're supposed to come out, doesn't even want to come out.
-
So cold, so cold, okay, so cold. I came back
-
my lips were cracked at the site here. I was painful,
-
so I couldn't really talk and smiled properly. It was
-
that cold, but praise God, you know, the warmth of
-
ex Melbourne warmed me up.
-
And you know, even in the midst.
-
Of the cold spring I show you in the next picture,
-
take a moment to say this. So I was I
-
had a privilege one day to just have half a
-
day to have some time to myself. So I took
-
a hike from passer Joel's house because he stays East Melbourne.
-
So Melbourne, there actually mountains over the east side. It's
-
called the Dande Noong Mountains. Yeah, and so because Pastor
-
Joel's house is very close to the mountains. So I
-
one morning, I actually say, hey, I just want to
-
walk around your neighborhood. And lo and behold, I found
-
myself hiking halfway towards the mountains on my own. Yeah,
-
but they gave me some directions and I along the hike, right,
-
I just kept taking pictures of the different Australian flowers
-
along the roadside that I could see. So these are
-
this is not a postcard, Okay, this is my own pictures.
-
As I was hiking. I take picture, take picture, take picture. Yeah,
-
And I just want to show you what even in
-
the midst of a cold, cold spring ride, God has beauty.
-
Amen.
-
So you may be feeling like you're going through a
-
very cold season in your life right now, but even
-
in the midst of that coldness, God has beauty for you.
-
Amen. Amen.
-
And so these are Australian flowers. Actually you don't really
-
see this of flowers in Malaysia. They are native to Australia,
-
Australian wildflowers. I had more double triple the amount, but
-
I selected the best and I put it into a
-
college like Okay, so Praisecot for his works wonderful, you know,
-
and his beauty amidst the core. Now.
-
Then next then the next day we.
-
Actually had Bloom, which is our ex women's conference in
-
ex Melbourne, and that was the main reason why I
-
was sent there. So at first they invited Passsandra, but
-
she couldn't go. So then she turned to me, Jill,
-
can you go on my behalf? So that's how the
-
trip ended up. Yeah, And so I say, okay, Pasta,
-
whatever you say, I will do.
-
Yeah.
-
And so I went in fear and trembling because very
-
big fel shoes to feel you know. Yeah, they were
-
expecting Passsandra and then Sally Jill. Yeah, but oh God,
-
got showed up.
-
Got showed up. This is Ilona.
-
She actually used to be part of XKL then she
-
migrated to Melbourne. She's also one of our harder one
-
leaders and we've known each other for a long time,
-
good friends, and she was coordinating Bloom in Melbourne. So
-
this is Elo, this is the welcome table, my privilege
-
to be with them this round. So right now EX Melbourne,
-
the size of X Melbourne is about thirty plus partners, okay,
-
so perhaps maybe yeah, one third of our cyber group
-
right now, that's where EX Melbourne is at thirty plus partners, okay.
-
And so the women that showed up for Bloom were yeah,
-
they had about eighteen women in total, and not of
-
eighteen women, five were not from ex Melbourne. And now
-
of the five that were actually some pre believers, some
-
Christians who were unchurched. Yeah, and so then it self
-
encourage my heart for me. Honestly, I told God, God,
-
I do want to go cheer us to minister to
-
our own people. I mean, that's great, but I really
-
want a minister to new people. So God is so
-
good five out of eighteen that that's great, right yeah?
-
And so I got to share with them, and I
-
told them, you know, I did not come all the
-
way as eight hours flight, six thousand kilometers, leaving.
-
My family for five days. Yeah.
-
So I remember when I was telling my homes to pray, right,
-
and Rudin was saying, oh Lord, we pray that passer
-
Jack will survive no slash drive for the next five days. Amen,
-
father to father right image. I think he understands. I grace,
-
I live back out her backs and go for five days.
-
Right ah.
-
So yeah, so this is our home site right real?
-
And okay, yeah, I feel with faith and laughter. So yeah,
-
I did not leave my family just to come and
-
entertain you. I told ex Melbourne that I didn't come
-
to speak eloquently to you like a tech talk speaker.
-
I say, you want all that, you go and hire
-
someone like that. I came to bring you faith, I said.
-
That's what I came to bring you, not entertainment, not eloquents.
-
I came to bring an encounter with God.
-
So that was what God told me, you are going
-
to bring faith and for those of you who hurt
-
past the Kennev in nineteen ninety five, God gave him
-
a vision. He was caught up with it for two
-
to three hours on his knees, and the vision was
-
the map of Malaysia. Starting from where he was, which
-
is the Klang Valley, a flame appeared, and slowly around
-
the map of Malaysia, where's at East Malaysia, different flames appeared,
-
and slowly the whole of Malaysia was caught up in
-
the flame. And then slowly God brought his view out
-
to the world and God showed him that from Malaysia
-
will come revival for the nations, and that flame started
-
to travel across the world like fireballs. Gamers, you can
-
imagine that right, And then soon the whole world was
-
also littered up in flames. And you know that we
-
can was a glimpse, just a glimpse of what it
-
could be. Because not only was I sent to ex
-
Melbourne to bring faith to them, but that same weekend,
-
Elder Pingho and Elder Rose was sent to ex Karawachi
-
to minister at their family camp. That same weekend, Elder
-
Kenya and Elder Shirley were in Singapore to minister to
-
exk Singapore. So it started with the Eldership being sent
-
out different parts of the world for that we can
-
to bring, not entertainment, not eloquence or wisdom or man,
-
but the fire, the faith of God. And would you
-
ex church, you know, want to be a part of
-
this fire for our nation and the nations. So that's
-
our call, that's our destiny, all right and one day
-
may God use you to bring his fire back to
-
your nation because we are a global church here.
-
Amen. Amen.
-
And then yeah, so so shared with them on faith.
-
You know in Melbourne, right, they don't do the front
-
stage ministry time in between worship. You know, just now
-
we had our leaders and press support team in front
-
praying for different ones we need.
-
In Melbourne, they don't do that. It's not the culture.
-
Yeah, even at the end of a message for a
-
speaker to lay hands on the congregation also, it's not
-
a common practice. But that day when I was speaking
-
for Bloom, God say I want you to pray for
-
every woman here, and God said, I want you to
-
go to them, and that's what I did. So the
-
whole schedule went out of the window. But it's okay,
-
it's God's conference, right not ours, and so had the
-
privilege to represent God to lay hands most of the
-
women there, and they caught a word from the Lord.
-
They were in tears. They had an encounter with the Lord.
-
And some of the leaders were saying, hmm, we haven't
-
done this in a long time. I think it's time
-
to bring this back.
-
Yeah. So ex Cybergaya, you are so privileged.
-
Okay, every Sunday, our leaders and prayer support team right
-
here ready to pray for you. Do you know that
-
there are some people who don't have that privilege, okay, So,
-
so just just receive it. Yeah amen, okay, So, and
-
then Sunday Sunday worship. This is Sunday. So this is
-
how the hall looks like. It's in a hotel called
-
Pegasus Hotel in Melbourne, CBD. And uh yeah, so that
-
were those are the teams serving. And so I spoke
-
to them on Sunday as well. And as I was
-
speaking to them, right towards the end of my message,
-
I started to see flashes of light in my eyes
-
and I couldn't read my Bible clearly. And for me,
-
once in a while, I get migraine. And I knew
-
that it was a sign that a migraine was coming on.
-
And when a migraine hits me right, it hits me
-
bad for that day or the next few days. I say, God,
-
I cannot afford the migraine right now. I need to
-
finish your word. I didn't come all the way to
-
have unfinished business. Say Lord, please help me. And I
-
told the church Church, right now, I'm actually having flashes
-
of light. Would you just pray and believe along with
-
me that it will leave me right now and I'll
-
finish what God has to say to you. And and
-
and within minutes the flashes of light left, and I
-
know migrain came and I was able to finish God's word.
-
And uh yeah, that itself was a testimony. So praise God.
-
Praise God. When God's senses on a mission, we continue
-
to trust him and it will help us to finish
-
the task.
-
It meant all glory to God.
-
Uh And so yeah, so today, so I would just
-
wanted to update you on ex Melbourne. Uh and thank
-
you so much for praying for our family there all
-
right now I'm going to go on into the word
-
and uh yeah, let's let's see how the lot brings
-
this Okay. So today I'm going to talk continue to
-
talk about the theme for this year, which is that
-
all that all that all may know. Okay, and for
-
this season. Uh, we as speakers, we are led to
-
actually speak around the topic of obedience for last month
-
this month okay, that all may know and particularly through
-
our obedience. So today, the message that I have for
-
us is obey that all may know. I've preached this
-
in the first half of this year, and I'm going
-
to continue preaching this the second half of this year.
-
Same title. I had a message to the same title
-
a couple of months back. By it's okay, because that
-
means we haven't fully gotten it yet and God wants
-
to continue to speak to us.
-
Okay, all right, let's go.
-
So today I'm going to be speaking from one of
-
the Bible heroes. He's also well, there's a hero also
-
among us named after him, and he's none other than Noah.
-
So yeah, he's a Bible hero. And Noah or Tinda
-
is also our physical hero here. Yeah, the man who
-
serves behind the scenes but makes everything happen.
-
Yeah.
-
Okay, So I'm gonna be preaching from the life of Noah,
-
and it's going to be from the Book of Genesis,
-
the first five chapter, first five to ten chapters. Okay,
-
so everyone, can you get your bibles out because I'm
-
not putting the scripture on the slices today. So I
-
want you to take your bibles out. We want to
-
maximize the word of God. If you don't have a Bible,
-
use your e bible, share with your neighbor. But I
-
encourage all of us here to own a physical Bible.
-
I'm gonna say this is clear and bold. If we
-
can invest in so many physical things, why can't we
-
invest in a physical Bible?
-
Amen? Amen? Okay, let's go all right.
-
So I'm going to be sharing four thoughts on obedience
-
from the life of Noah. I put the thoughts on
-
the screen, Okay. Other than that, just listen to me,
-
take notes if you need to.
-
Okay.
-
So we are going to read from Genesis chapter five,
-
verse twenty eight and twenty nine. Yeah, so let's turn
-
to our bibles. And if you really really need, only
-
look at the screen. Okay, I am going to turn
-
to my Bible too. Genesis chapter five, verse twenty eight
-
to twenty nine.
-
Okay, here we go.
-
When Lamac had lived one hundred and eighty two years,
-
he fathered a son verse twenty nine, and called his
-
name Noah, saying out of the ground that the Lord
-
has cursed this one shall bring us relief from the
-
work of our hands and from the painful toil of
-
our hands.
-
So this verse itself tells us.
-
The meaning of the name of Noah. Well, half the meaning, Okay,
-
half the meaning. You see why I say half the meaning.
-
Is Lamac, who is Noah's father, named Noah with the
-
hope that God will deliver mankind from the hard work
-
that they had to do and the pain that they
-
had to suffer. But if we do a study of
-
the root word of Noah in Hebrew, God had a
-
different meaning for Noah, and it's a greater purpose. So
-
Noah in Hebrew means to rest, to rest, to rest,
-
and it's very different from his earthly father's intention. So
-
his earthly father is wishing that, Oh, with the birth
-
of Noah, we will stop having suffering. But Noah's heavenly
-
father named him because the destiny that his heavenly father
-
had for no Over was not to be excluded from suffering.
-
There will still be suffering, but there will be rest
-
in the midst of the suffering. How many of you
-
you want rest in the midst of your suffering? Say
-
an amen. See, man is always looking to escape suffering.
-
Me too, Okay, I don't like suffering. I don't like discomfort.
-
I don't like things going.
-
Out of control. It makes me anxious, it makes me angry, angst.
-
And see yeah, as she was saying that is so cute,
-
she like and Johann were just talking by the hospital
-
based like yeah, collinge ather NCNC.
-
Anyway, it's okay. I also I.
-
Also joined the party and see also I also can
-
be can be.
-
Yeah.
-
But God planned for us is not to escape suffering. Okay, friends,
-
God's plan for us is to rest in the midst
-
of the I say, rest in the midst after suffering.
-
So let's let's gain this perspective. Doesn't mean that we
-
become Christians means our life straight away is zero suffering.
-
That's not the right mindset to have. In fact, we
-
will continue to have suffering and maybe more because our
-
Lord Jesus himself suffered. But we can go through it
-
because God says I will give you rest in the
-
midst of your suffering. Okay, And perhaps I mean today
-
I might focus on the word rest a bit more
-
as the Lord leads. I'm not sure why my iPad
-
battery is running out very fast, but not mine. Let
-
me just swap with my phone right now. Okay, just
-
give me a moment. Breathe in and out, breathing.
-
The Holy Spirit. Now, okay, all right.
-
Yes rest. You know, Noah itself was the ninth generation
-
after Adam. So from Adam, the first human beings, you
-
count nine generations down, it's Noah. And the number nine
-
is significant because the number nine speaks of the Holy Spirit.
-
And so I believe one of the things that God
-
is telling us today is that if we want to
-
find rest in the midst of our sufferings, we cannot
-
rely on our own strength. We've got to rely on
-
the Holy Spirit. Noah rest, nine generation, Holy Spirit. Do
-
you see that correlation? You want rest in the midst
-
of whatever storms that you're going through, don't lean on
-
your own strength, lean on the Holy Spirit.
-
Okay. Now, I just want to share a story about
-
-
My family and I had the privilege and blessing of
-
making a short family trip to Krabi in Thailand for
-
the school holidays. It was really God's blessing. Yeah, not
-
our own doing, really really God's blessing. And honestly, I
-
had been so busy leading up to our family trip
-
to Krabi that I had no time to plan for
-
any itinerary. I don't know how many of you here.
-
When you travel, the further you go, you've got to
-
plan a greater and greater itinerary because you want to
-
maximize your time, you want to maximize your money. Right,
-
cannot go there empty handed, so I normally will plan
-
the itinerary, but this round, that was how busy I was.
-
I had no time, no capacity, no energy to plan
-
any itinerary. I know Riza and also Riza and Nina
-
shared some of their tips with me because they also
-
went previously with their families, but I really could not
-
plan anything for the trip. Okay, So next picture, So
-
this was us Monday morning at kl I A two.
-
Our flight was seven am, so we had to be
-
there by five am morning. Face you see, like, yeah,
-
still doing the feace sign, okay, Ken Christ yes, Lord
-
Shallom okay yeah. So honestly, at this point, we had
-
zero plans about what's going to happen in the next
-
five days.
-
So by faith, we just flew to Krabbi.
-
And honestly, in the flight, I just saw, like breathe
-
a prayer of sighing. Say, oh, Lord, it's just been
-
so busy. Lord, I haven't had time to plan for
-
this trip. Lord, can you just take over the trip?
-
Three lines prayer of sighing so ununpleasant, right to the Lord.
-
But God is God.
-
He takes in all our prayers, even our sighing prayers.
-
I was just honestly really tired. So uh yeah.
-
And but you know, when we choose to surrender our
-
plans to God's hands, that is when it becomes the
-
best trip of your life.
-
Okay.
-
I don't know who I'm speaking to. Someone some here
-
needs to learn to let go of being the master
-
planner of your life and let God be the master
-
planner of your life. By nature, I like to plan.
-
I like to be in control. I don't like to
-
be angsy. But God taught me a lesson this round.
-
You can't okay, God, you be my master planner. Okay. Now,
-
so we flew to We landed in Krabbi safely, thank God. Ah,
-
And so we took a taxi from the airport to
-
the hotel.
-
And the amazing thing was from the airport to the hotel.
-
Halfway, the drivers stopped us at his friends newly open
-
tour agency. So yeah, a friend she just started her
-
own business, so to support her business, he just stopped
-
us by her tour agency. And then she started explaining, Oh,
-
you know, while you're in Krabbi, you can do all
-
these different things. Show us the brochure, tell us, Oh,
-
you can even negotiate, tell us your tell us your
-
best price. Ah my pin right, So what do you call? Yeah,
-
tis are amazing men. I love the level of warmth
-
and hospitality.
-
Yeah. Yeah, anyway, so we took it.
-
We say, okay, whatever you share with us, because we've
-
got zero plans, we're gonna take it. But we negotiated
-
the price, negotiated to a good agreement, then we took it.
-
So that was God showing up for us. So I say,
-
when we failed to plan, God will plan for us.
-
And that's the better and best planned.
-
Okay.
-
Then so there was Monday Tuesday. Tuesday, we went island hopping.
-
So Krabbi is a seaside town and their beautiful islands nearby.
-
They are known for their limestone islands. So for those
-
of you who are from Malaysia, you're familiar with EPO
-
got a lot of limestone hills. And for me, I
-
love looking at limestone hills. They're just very unique and
-
majestic on its own. But in Malaysia the limestone hills
-
are in the mainland. But in Krabbi, the special thing
-
is the limestone hills are by the seaside or their
-
stand alone islands. So we went island hopping and that
-
morning when we woke up, this was the weather. What
-
is the weather forecast? Lady and ladies and gentlemen.
-
Rain? Okay?
-
So I was like, hi, yea God, I thought you
-
were bless us with good weather this morning. We are
-
going to go island hopping. How come the weather is unexpected?
-
It's like our lives, right, how come Lord, this situation
-
is so unexpected. I thought I'm your child. I thought
-
you would bless me. Why why this kind of weather?
-
Why this kount's situation? I really commited my life to you.
-
Why why why? But anyway, okay, thank God. We prayed,
-
We prayed, we press on in prayer. This is taken
-
at the jetty. So we had already been praying like
-
one hour before, and we're at the jetty and instilled
-
this kind of weather. So I'm like, God, how do
-
we do this? How do we go island hopping in
-
this kind of weather? But then we still went out
-
by faith. So as we were boarding the boat, it
-
was this kind of rainy weather, but you know, God
-
is so good. As we were launching out to see,
-
the skies started to clear up. The rain stopped and
-
we managed to reach the first island or the first bay.
-
Okay, next picture, so the rain had stopped.
-
The clouds they are still there, cloudy, gray, but clearing up.
-
So this was the first stop. Okay, no rain, Praise God.
-
Peace all right, peace okay.
-
Yeah.
-
And then so we went to the first island, We
-
went to the second island, we went to the third island,
-
and the fourth stop was the fourth island. By the
-
time we came to the fourth island, next picture, Ah.
-
Nice or not?
-
The sky's so blue, the clouds so wide, the water's
-
so admerald, the sea, the sand so white and yellow.
-
The view was gorgeous. Didn't even need pick people in
-
the inside the picture. So I just took a picture.
-
And then so we sat in one of those small
-
boats that you can see off the sea, and they
-
gave us, they gave us packed lunch. So the food
-
was so good also, so I just wanted to take
-
a picture of the food.
-
So happened.
-
I took a picture of the background, and I told myself,
-
you know what, jail, after you finish lunch, we will
-
take a family picture.
-
So you know me, I like to take pictures. Yeah.
-
My homies say, well, you got a lot of storage
-
in your phone now. Yeah. Anyways, yeah, so I.
-
Was so hungry that I first eat the food, no
-
time to take family picture. And I regretted it because
-
as just as we finish our food under the tree, right,
-
the weather just changed one hundred eighty degrees.
-
This was the weather. This was our tour guides. Yeah.
-
Man, within just fifteen minutes, it's just the weather's turned
-
one hundred eighty degrees and it became a storm. Actually
-
so so bad that all of us ran into our boats.
-
There were about ten boats that were docked by that
-
final island, hundreds of people on the island. We all
-
ran back to our boat and we just waited in
-
our boat for thirty minutes to forty five minutes. We
-
just sat there waiting, waiting, waiting for the storm to pass.
-
But then I'm glad that somehow one of the boat captains.
-
Now the boat captains, right, they're all actually fishermen, they're
-
very experienced and navigating at sea. So one of the
-
boat captains say, hey, how long are we going to
-
wait here in this island? It was already like going
-
to be three o'clock and in Thailand by six o'clock
-
it is dark already, And then the island doesn't have
-
proper water, electricity supply shelter, so there's no way that
-
hundreds of us could stay the night at the island. No,
-
we'll be lost, so cannot So I'm glad one of
-
the boat captains said, you know what, how long can
-
we keep waiting at this island. Why don't we just
-
launch back to the coast by you know, just launch
-
bagla and we do it together. So I'm glad that
-
one of the boat captains had faith. Where his faith
-
was in it's a different story, but at least he
-
had faith. Okay, at least he had faith, and he
-
says to all the other boat captains, let's let's launch
-
out together. Yeah, And you know, sometimes we need to
-
do that in our friends. We need to live by faith.
-
How long are we going to wait at the island
-
where it's actually not possible for us to survive?
-
For long? Are you in an island today? Friends?
-
Are you thinking you can survive at the island? Stop
-
waiting there? Launchild in faith? Okay. I want to just
-
turn us to Hebrews Chapter ten, verse thirty eight to
-
thirty nine.
-
And I honestly think.
-
This will be the message for today. As the Lord
-
is just panning this out. I'll do a part till
-
next time. It's okay, but this is what the Lord
-
wants to say. I just have to be obedient, Okay.
-
He brows Chapter ten, verse thirty eight to thirty nine.
-
And this is one scripture that God spoke to me
-
as I joined the national forty day Fast and Prayer
-
for our nation.
-
God is so good, you know.
-
I join in the NECF forty day Fast and prayer
-
because I really just wanted to pray for Malaysia because
-
I know our nation needs it. I wasn't expecting anything
-
for myself. But true, during that time, God spoke powerfully
-
to me, and this is one of the scripture that
-
he spoke to me. So do not despise living your
-
life to praying for others, because God will return.
-
It to you. Amen.
-
And so in Hebrews Chapter ten, verse thirty eight, he says,
-
but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if
-
he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him
-
verse thirty nine. But we are not of those who
-
shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have
-
faith and preserve their souls. So the world teaches us, right, Oh,
-
if it's very dangerous, shrink back, then you stay safe.
-
But God teaches us, even though it's dangerous, you gotta
-
launch out in faith, and then only you will truly
-
be safe and you will live. God says, if you
-
choose to shrink back at a dangerous time, you be destroyed.
-
Can you see how different the ways of the world
-
and the Lord is. The world says, dangerous, shrink back,
-
and then you will live. But God says, no, no, no, dangerous.
-
You still launch out in faith because I am with you,
-
and you will live. God says, if it's dangerous and
-
you shrink back, you will die. So choose you this
-
day you want to live or you want to die.
-
You want to live, you have to launch out in faith.
-
You cannot keep staying at the island wish you will
-
not survive. Okay, So let's take a lesson from that
-
fisherman that say, hey, how long can we be waiting here?
-
It's just like the story of the four leapers in
-
the Book of Kings, right, how long can we wait here?
-
Also we die, We go through the enemy's camp to
-
plunder their food. Maybe we will live, maybe we will die,
-
but at least there's a chance of living. So I'm
-
glad for the fishermen that they got blessed that fishermen
-
for railing the rest of the fishermen say, come, we
-
cannot be waiting here forever, even though there's a storm
-
at sea. Let's launch out, and let's do it together.
-
And that's the power of church. We launch out together. Friends,
-
you are not alone. As you launch out in faith,
-
you are not alone.
-
Amen. Okay.
-
So coming back to that, so we launched out to sea.
-
We show the next video it was a storm at sea? Okay,
-
can we play one more time? Does this remind you
-
of a familiar story in the Bible? What story is
-
that Jesus sleeping where in the boat when in the storm?
-
So I managed to Thank God, right, I wasn't sleeping
-
and I caught this video. Then I can share this
-
lesson with you, or somebody has to be the sacrificial lamb,
-
usually the wife. Anyway, So we were in the middle
-
of sea and it was a storm. Okay, there was
-
water coming from the rain. There was water coming from
-
the sea into the boat. I know because I sat
-
right in front, so water was just pouring into my face.
-
I was drinking salt water and rainwater because I was
-
sitting at the edge. Because the rest of the people
-
were all sitting inside. Yeah and yeah, water was coming
-
into a boat. And the boat was really rocking from
-
left to right. Honestly, if all of us went to
-
one side, the boat would collapse, would kept size. So
-
the captain told us you got to balance your weight.
-
But the boat was rocking from side to side. It
-
could have kept size all right. It was very scary.
-
This journey was about forty five minutes. Forty five minutes
-
get back to shore in the midst of the storm.
-
I don't know how passer jet slept in the middle
-
of the storm. Judo, so my tooth, Ezra and Anna also,
-
I was the only one awake I was being eggsy
-
at the time. Honestly, the whole time, I could not
-
could not sleep, Okay, I was just praying and praying,
-
and I was worshiping God.
-
And I kid you not. The songs that I sang
-
was with Christ in.
-
The vessel week and small, let the storm, smile, let
-
the storm.
-
And then I also sang.
-
Alrais a heart I'm gonna sing in the middle of
-
the storm. I literally sang all the songs that had
-
the word storm in it. I sang it over and
-
over again. Praise my praise in the midst of the
-
storm's right, pray in the midst of the storms. But I,
-
deep down I had a confidence that God was with us.
-
Deep down I knew that this was going to be
-
a testimony and a lesson. That's why I quickly took
-
out my phone and said, ha, I'm sure God, you're
-
going to teach us something to this. So I begin
-
to shoot the video and today I'm able to share it, Yeah,
-
with us evidence. And after forty five minutes next video,
-
we reached back to the shore.
-
How was the weather like.
-
The rain had stopped, the skies had cleared, the waters
-
were still. We got off the boat and we went
-
back to the hotel. But God brought us through safely
-
through the storm.
-
Amen.
-
And that was important because the next day, can we
-
go to the picture with the blue pool behind us
-
right at the end.
-
So I'm gonna just jump a bit. Okay.
-
That was important for God to preserve us through Tuesday
-
because Wednesday we went to the jungle instead, from the
-
sea to the jungle, and we visited different natural watering
-
holes in the jungle. So there was hot spring and
-
then there was like an emerald pool and this is
-
called the blue good behind us.
-
Okay, can you.
-
Do you know why it's called blue because it literally
-
looks like there's blue chalk at the base of the
-
pool and this is like on a highland deep in
-
the jungles.
-
We had to hike in.
-
We finally reached it and apparently when we clap right
-
then there will be ripples over that pool. So that's
-
how amazing God's creation is. How can one say there's
-
no God in this world when you look at his works?
-
Right in Romans he says that. So anyway, on this
-
day we set the twelve V and to go to
-
this jungle and next picture. So I honestly, if you
-
heard me say early on, I really felt very tired
-
before the trip, just very busy season, and I say, God,
-
I really don't feel like talking to anyone on this van.
-
I just want to have my mee time. And then
-
lo and behold. The next moment, a lady came to
-
sit next to me. Yeah, and her name is called
-
Nicole and she's seen in the picture. She's actually a
-
German lady residing in Spain with her family. And I
-
was like, okay, God, I'm just gonna not talk to anyone,
-
just pretend to be asleep until we reached the destination.
-
And God say, no, you speak to her. I was
-
wrestling with God like Jacob. After wrestling got worn obviously,
-
and I say, okay, God, I will speak to her.
-
I would just introduce.
-
Myself, say hi, and has some small thought and that's it.
-
I'll come back to my knee zone.
-
Lo and behore.
-
We ended up chatting all the way to the jungle,
-
which was like one hour plus drive, and then we
-
went to the After coming back from the jungle to
-
the hotel, we continue talking for another one and a
-
half hours, so in total we talked for three hours.
-
Everything under the sun, about family, about work, about we
-
didn't well talked about my faith, but not her faith,
-
so I didn't know what faith she had or if
-
she had any. Then just minutes before arriving at the hotel,
-
God says, Jill, I want you to pray for her,
-
and I say, okay, Lord, how do I do this anyway?
-
So I did it.
-
I said, Nicole, you know, I really don't believe that
-
our meeting is a coincidence. I'm from Malaysia from the east.
-
You are from Spain, Germany, from the west. How is
-
it that we meet in Thailand like this? And I said,
-
you know, I believe that our meetup is really God ordained.
-
And before we part our ways, God is asking me
-
to pray for you. That I told her, I I walk,
-
We've got daily his voice. So God is telling me
-
right now that he wants me to pray for you.
-
And I was ready for a rejection, but she said,
-
please go ahead. And then I felt like to ask her,
-
do you have any personal faith? And she said, actually,
-
I grew up in a Protestant church back in Germany,
-
but then when I went to study, when I started working,
-
I had a family, you know, life just happened, and
-
I stopped going to church, I stopped walking with God.
-
And I said, you know, Nicole, I really think God
-
is calling you back to his side. There's no way
-
we could have met like that and be talking about God.
-
It's really God all day and it's supernatural. And I
-
was waiting for her to say something to me, and
-
she said, I also think so, Jill, I do think
-
that God is calling me back. So anyway, we prayed,
-
and as I prayed, you know, God led me to
-
pray for different needs in the life from our conversation,
-
and as the Holy Spirit added on, I felt like
-
to bless and ludge the territory.
-
Of blessings over her.
-
So I didn't just pray for what she needed, but
-
I prayed what God wanted for her, which is a
-
larger territory. And then at the end of the prayer,
-
she opened her eyes and she was actually in tears,
-
and she said, Jill, I can feel God very very
-
strongly with us right now, and she showed me her
-
the hair on her hand. It was standing said I
-
I'm having goosebumps right now because I'm just feeling God
-
so strong with us, and I haven't really felt him
-
like that in a long while.
-
I say, Nicole, that's God for you. That's God.
-
God is here with us right now and he's calling
-
you back to his side. And then after that she
-
began to inquire more about Ex Germany and that week
-
that was the week the Ex germaney was going to
-
be launched. See God's perfect timing, and I connected her
-
with Doris and yeah, and I'm still trying to also
-
follow up with her now. But you know, God will
-
preserve us through our storms. He will give us rest
-
when we think it's impossible, and he will preserve us
-
because someone is waiting to know Christ through our lives.
-
We will not be crushed, we will not be destroyed
-
by the storms of our lives because God knows there
-
is someone waiting to know Him.
-
Through our lives.
-
So let's not give up when we go through stormy times.
-
I mean, the last two weeks have been very stormy
-
for me personally. After I came it from Melbourne that
-
we Can was a full weekend of speaking for me,
-
different engagements, and that Sunday I was sent to speak
-
in x Quotakamuning and I spend the night before one
-
and a half hours preparing my slides on canver. Next morning,
-
when I went to x kotakimoning to share my slides
-
with them. When I opened my Canva account, zero slides
-
just disappeared.
-
I don't know.
-
Don't ask me how and why it just disappeared. I'm
-
an avid Canva user. It's never happened to me in
-
all my time of preaching and speaking. It's never happened
-
to me first time in my life. My slides just disappeared,
-
and Canva had evidence that I used. That template is
-
recorded for those of you are Canva users, it will
-
tell you, oh, you use this template recently. So when
-
I opened my Canva account, it showed me evidence that
-
I used that particular slide. It was a template on
-
Noah's Ark. I was preaching the similar message anyway. I
-
just went on my faith to preach the word of
-
God in XKK and the XTV team helped me to
-
put together a little something on the spot. So that
-
was the start of the stormy period it Then the
-
next day I got involved in a car accident. I've
-
not shared it with any of you actually except my family.
-
So I got involved in a car, a minor car accident.
-
I was driving to actually bank in the mission's first
-
priority pledge. So yeah, and then a car hit me
-
from the side and he was in the wrong in essence,
-
and he was this big, burly guy came down.
-
He's very angry, blaming me. He hit me, and he
-
blamed me.
-
You can mine, and he tried to like bully me la,
-
But I say, God, mind, we take this on together,
-
you and me in my heart.
-
So I was not afraid of him.
-
I stared at him and he's like six foot tall,
-
and I just stared at him in his eye, telling
-
him I'm not afraid of you because God is with
-
me in my heart.
-
Luck. Yeah, and I kid you not.
-
Another guy came along, also big and burly, and he
-
stood up for me. He came and he said, I
-
saw what happened from the start, and he told the guy,
-
you are in the wrong.
-
You shouldn't have gone a hit when you saw her
-
car was there. So that stranger stood up for me,
-
and I knew it was God's angel. Then after that,
-
that bully just backed off and went away. Yeah, and
-
that was day two. The next day, paster Jack fell sick.
-
We couldn't make it for press service. That was the night.
-
Next day, Wednesday, I can't remember what happened. The following day,
-
Passa Jack got confirmed to have influence at a and
-
then that same day Ezra came down with high fever.
-
So morning I was busy writing about taking care of
-
Passa Jack. And then afternoon I got a call from
-
the school, sorry to inform you, but your son is
-
also down with high fever. So I went to pick
-
up all the kids. And then yeah, Friday, Saturday, Sunday,
-
I was just taking care of Pussa Jack at Ezra
-
at home, cooking for them and at the same time
-
taking care of the household the kids. At the same time,
-
I was trying to work from home, trying to do
-
ministry from home. So it was a very full we
-
can I remember Grades reaching out to me saying, hey, Jill,
-
how are you. I said, oh, Grace, it's really been stretching,
-
but you know, God is good to give me every
-
portion that I need for every hour. Yeah, and then
-
I heard that weekend also, you know, Litty and the
-
girls became ill, so that was also not great news
-
as well, right, and then we had to miss worship
-
at homes. Yeah, so cey four was down by ten
-
people because two families were in quarantine for influence at
-
a So there was the weekend last weekend, and then
-
this week Monday Tuesday was very busy for me because
-
we had our final u so LINEZ is applying for
-
a government grant of half a million ring gate to
-
bring our programs to the school in terms of suicide prevention,
-
and by God's mercy and grace and favor, we are
-
at the final stage of pitching.
-
So Tuesday was the pitching meeting and.
-
That forty eight hours I was on overdrive mode preparing
-
for the pitching meeting, and God came through so powerfully.
-
There's a story for another day.
-
But then because I was on overdrive mode, right, I
-
suffered gas strict problems. So Tuesday night or I came
-
down with like gas strict problems which I don't normally
-
have as well. Then Wednesday, I think pass eject told me, oh,
-
our kitchen sink suddenly.
-
Got blocked.
-
After he washed the last stup aware for the night
-
going to rest. Suddenly, yeah, the water couldn't flow down,
-
and he used the pump to actually try and pumper
-
and a lot of black stuff came out of the sink.
-
So then the next day we had to call the
-
plumber to come and fix it. Then the following day
-
that's when doctor Sheila caught me say, oh, Johann just
-
had a bad fall. So the past two weeks, every
-
day is either it's not been good news for me,
-
for my family, for my homies. It's been stormy. But
-
I really really sends God's goodness in the midst.
-
Of the storm.
-
Every time that I needed strength for the hour, God
-
gave me the strength. I didn't know how I could
-
pull true, but He just put me through. Every time
-
I needed just that encouragement, that prayer, he would send
-
someone to encourage to pray. When I didn't even expect.
-
An angel in disguise, he would send angels in disguise.
-
And that's God.
-
And throughout all this, yes, it was difficult to make
-
time to seek the Lord, but I'm glad that He
-
enabled me to to still continue to seek Him even
-
in my quiet time. Last Sunday, although we missed that
-
worship at homes, we still worship God at Homes. We
-
just praised Him like crazy. In the midst of the storm.
-
We praised Him and He turned things around one by one. Amen,
-
And I stand here. I don't know how the weather
-
will be for the coming week or weeks, but what
-
I can say is that in the midst of the storm,
-
God is with us. In the midst of the storm,
-
we can still give thanks and praise Him and pray
-
and trust him. In the midst of the storm, he
-
will give us rest. In the midst of the storm,
-
he will give us strength encouragement. In the midst of
-
the storm, he is with us, and he will bring
-
us true safely to the other side. I really thank
-
God for our trip to Krabi. I knew that it
-
was not just an ordinary holiday trip. God was prophetically
-
speaking to me through the storm at see Jill. The
-
next few weeks may get stormy, but I'm with you, remember,
-
and I'll bring you to the other side safely. And
-
so I want to leave this work with us extremely
-
and come up. So this is actually the first part
-
of my message. I actually have a second part, but
-
it's okay. This is what God wants me to share
-
with you today, and I will do it because he knows.
-
Maybe some of us here are going through a stormy
-
time sometimes, and some of us feel like it's been
-
storm after storm after storm like no break, no rest,
-
But I just want to extend. I just want to
-
prophesy God's rest upon you. Let's stand, Let's worship God,
-
God will God. God's presence is with us. There's the
-
first pee in the midst of the storm. The second piece,
-
God's power is with us. The third piece because he
-
has a purpose for us, and the fourth piece because
-
another person needs to know him through our lives. So
-
I leave with you four peace. God is just downloading
-
it to me right now on the spot, in the
-
midst of the storm. God's presence. Everybody say, presence is
-
with us. And when God's presence is with us the
-
second peece God's power is with us.
-
Say power.
-
And when God's power is with us is because he
-
has a purpose for us.
-
Everyone say purpose. And you know what is that purpose?
-
Is that another person will come to know of Jesus
-
through our lives, say person. Amen, And so I want
-
to leave this with you, friends, speaking from one person
-
who has been through a stormy period to another.
-
God is with us in this boat. Amen.
-
