You're listening to a message to go from at church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
Right. So the title of the message that God wants us.
-
To hear today is that all may know the Lord
-
Jesus Christ, the humble servant King.
-
Okay, Christmas is here in the.
-
Season, right, And I'm also waiting upon the Lord. While
-
I was waiting upon the Lord, I was also reminded
-
by doctor Jule's message, by Pastor Cannet's message last few Sundays,
-
and just continuing on the theme about even Jesus that
-
all may know, yes, and also about the focus on
-
the Lord Jesus Christ. Okay, so that we can we
-
are going to be able to speak forth who the
-
Lord Jesus Christ is, Okay, all right to This scripture
-
will be taken from Philippians chapter two.
-
Philippins Chapter two was one to eleven.
-
I'm so glad that Paul today our chairpersons shed about
-
the Philippins when you first chat during preaership service today.
-
It's very good because I'm gonna speak about this book
-
as well.
-
I think the Holy Spirit is speaking to us even
-
from the beginning.
-
A man. So a bit of a background on the Book.
-
Of Philippins, So Philippians is written by Paul the Apostle Paul.
-
Right.
-
He Apostle Paul established the Philippin Church in eighty fifty
-
one in his second missionary journey.
-
Okay, so you can read about that in the Book
-
of Acts. Yeah.
-
So from the start of the Church of the Philippine Church,
-
the church displayed a strong missionary zeal and was consistent
-
in its support of Paul's the Apostle Paul's ministry.
-
Right.
-
So this church is yeah, very supportive for this missionary
-
Apostle Paul's missionary. So Paul enjoyed a closer friendship with
-
the Philippins Church than with any other church. Right, So
-
Paul most likely wrote his letter to the Philippians during
-
his first Roman imprisonment. Okay, Paul was in prison, right,
-
so he most likely wrote this letter about eighty sixty one, Okay,
-
to thank the church for the contribution he had received
-
from the Philippin Church.
-
Okay, so that's why he's writing.
-
If you read the Book of Philippiins is like a
-
lot of thank you and you know a lot of love,
-
yeah and rejoicing, you know.
-
Yeah.
-
So Paul also appealed to the church for a spirit
-
of unity and steadfastness among them. So this is where
-
we're going to carry on on learning on that, okay.
-
Okay.
-
So the title of the message is not as I
-
was saying, the Lord that all may know, the Lord
-
Jesus Christ, the humble servant King, focusing on the topic
-
of humble. If just now you saw the the title right,
-
humble was in yellow. Okay, purposely or purposely Okay. The
-
key word today is humble.
-
Okay.
-
So we're going to see the example was saying, yes,
-
last Sunday, right example example. So we're going to see
-
this example in the Lord Jesus Christ himself.
-
Okay.
-
Reading from Philippians Chapter two was one. Therefore, if there
-
is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love,
-
if any fellowship of the spirit, if any affection and mercy,
-
fulfill my joy by being like minded, having the same love,
-
being of one accord of one mind.
-
Right.
-
So this is Paul the Apostle, Paul writing to the
-
Philippian Church, encouraging them. In everything that you do, always
-
remember to be like minded, to have unity, having the
-
same love, being in one accord of one mind.
-
Okay. Then verse three continues to say.
-
Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but
-
in lowliness of mind, let each esteem each Let each
-
esteem others better than himself. If you have not highlighted
-
or underlined it, you can do it right now verse three. Okay,
-
let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but
-
in loneliness of mind, let each esteem others better than himself.
-
Verst for let each of you look out not only
-
for his own interests but also the interests of others.
-
Okay.
-
You can also underline and highlight verse four if you're
-
not in your bible.
-
Very important in the three verse threever was for Okay.
-
So Paul was instructing the Philippian church to do all
-
things of one mind in unity by humbling, but in
-
the spirit of humility, right, esteem.
-
Each other better than himself.
-
There's in verse three and then verse four, look out
-
not only for his own interests but also the interests
-
of others.
-
Okay. Then verse five we continue to say.
-
Paul continued to write, let this mind be in you,
-
which was also in Christ Jesus.
-
Right, So he's referring to verse three and verse four.
-
Okay, of that spirit of humility, right of esteeming others
-
better than himself, and also looking not only for his
-
own interests, but also the interests of artists. Let this
-
mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.
-
It's a command, right, It's written like a command, Let
-
this mind be in you, as it was also in
-
Christ Jesus. I believe the apostle Paul was encouraging the
-
church to be Christ like.
-
Right, this is like Christ.
-
Okay, This is not following some other gurus, but the
-
Lord Jesus Christ himself. It's a command as believers to
-
follow Christ, to be like him.
-
Okay.
-
So he continued to write about Christ Jesus. So if
-
you are new to the Christian faith, this is the
-
Lord Jesus Christ that we are speaking about.
-
Okay.
-
Verse six continues to say, who, being in the firm,
-
who here refers to Christ Jesus.
-
Okay. Verse six Jesus.
-
Christ, being in the form of God, did not consider
-
it robbery to be equal with God.
-
Right. So this Jesus Christ, our Lord Jesus Christ. You
-
know he is God. Right, he is God.
-
He knows his identity right, he is established in his identity.
-
He knows who he is, Jesus Christ. He knows that
-
he is God. It is not shaken. It is not that,
-
you know how being humbled. Sometimes it's there's a how
-
do you say? That's a tendency of like thinking that, oh,
-
if I humble myself, I need to.
-
Not be myself, you know, right?
-
Right, right, that's that's that's that tendency. Oh, if I
-
humble myself, it's not me.
-
It's not me. I'm me. Right.
-
For example, I here Jesus Christ. He is written here
-
in verse six. Right, he knows who he is, right,
-
his identity is God. At the same time he humbled himself. Right,
-
there is a greater reason of why he has to
-
do this. Right, So this is what uh, Jesus who
-
Jesus Christ is, He has his identity, he is God.
-
He ah in the amplified version of verse six says
-
Jesus Christ did not regard equality with God a thing
-
to be grasped or asserted, as if he did not
-
already possess it or was afraid of losing it. Right,
-
the Lord Jesus Christ is united with God the Father
-
and submissive to the Father's will. So many to say,
-
you know he he knows who he is no matter
-
what he do.
-
You know, whether he has to do a.
-
Certain thing, that means later we will read he will
-
lay down his life. But you know, in order to
-
do something, to be humble, he need not let go
-
of who he is. So may this be a revelation
-
for all of us that when when we are called
-
to be humble, when we are called to humble ourselves,
-
it doesn't mean that we cannot be ourself. We should
-
know who we are. We are children of God. We
-
know who we are. We are saved by grace, we
-
are chosen. We are called from darkness into light. You know, he,
-
the Lord Jesus Christ, save us for a greater purpose.
-
But now God is calling us to humble ourselves. Okay,
-
it's a it's it's an example where Jesus Christ has
-
done for us. Okay, So how did Jesus Christ humble himself?
-
Right?
-
Verse seven continue to say, but made himself of no reputation,
-
taking the form of a bond servant and coming in
-
the likeness of men. Right, so he is God. Verse
-
six says, being in the form of God, he did
-
not consider it robbery to be equal with God.
-
He already knows who he is.
-
Right, and verse seven says, he may himself of no reputation.
-
He knows who he is is, he is secure in
-
his identity.
-
And yet at the same.
-
Time he choose, he choose to be of no reputation,
-
taking the form of a bond servant.
-
Okay, and coming in the likeness of men. He came
-
Jesus Christ. He is God.
-
He came from heaven to earth. Right he is when
-
he came from heaven to earth. He is fully God,
-
and he is fully man.
-
Right.
-
So in case your friends or anyone says, how do
-
you know in which verse in the Bible says that
-
God is fully God, and Jesus Christ came down and
-
he is fully man at the same time, this is
-
the verse. Right, he made himself no reputation, taking the
-
form of a bond servant, coming in the likeness of men.
-
Right, And Jesus.
-
Christ, he chose to come down as a man, not
-
of a.
-
He didn't come down as a man of a rich person.
-
He didn't come from heaven to earth as a man
-
of a great.
-
Status he could have. I mean, here's God, he can
-
do all things. Right.
-
He chose to be a man of a slave. Ah,
-
just have a moment to think about.
-
That is again another mind blowing thing. Right he came.
-
He chose to be a bonder, a slave, right without
-
renouncing or diminishing his deity, but only temporarily giving up
-
the outward expression of his divine equality, equality and his
-
rightful dignity. He laid down his reputation right putting on servanthood.
-
Bond servant is a bond servant here means a lifetime slave,
-
and not just serving.
-
He's a lifetime slave. How would you like that?
-
I mean, okay, if we are, if we are God right,
-
become that. You want to choose something nicer, write something
-
more comfortable. He chose to be a lifetime slave, fully
-
serving or fully serving men, slive serving.
-
His own creation. Just brow my my noise. How good
-
of God is a man? He's so so good?
-
Right this reflects Sorry, I'm just so in awe of
-
who Jesus Christ is so amazing. So this reflects on
-
what Paul is trying to write in Philippines, Chapter two,
-
verse three. Let each of you look out not only
-
of his own interests. Jesus Christ has his own interests.
-
I'm sure he is God. He can he has great
-
interests of everything, But he did not have his only
-
interests in mine in mind, but also the interest of others,
-
and his great interests of others now is men and
-
saving them from their sin. Right, So, coming in the
-
form of his own creation, he became completely human, but
-
was without sin, being fully God and fully men. Not
-
a rich man, noble status man, royalty man, but a
-
servn man, a servant man. Jesus Christ came to serve.
-
He ministered to people as we have sung just now.
-
Thank you doctor Jil for singing that song. That he
-
turned water into wine. He freed the sinner, and he
-
healed the blind. Right, it's amazing he served men. So
-
just referencing again, referencing to Isaiah chapter fifty three, verse
-
two to three.
-
Isaiah fifty, chapter fifty.
-
Three, verse tu to three, a very famous scripture here
-
says from verse two, for he shall grow up.
-
This is talking about Jesus Christ.
-
Jesus Christ, for he shall grow up before him as
-
a tender plant and as a root out of dry ground.
-
He has no form or comeliness.
-
And when we see him, there is no beauty that
-
we should desire him. Here, well, it is a prophecy,
-
that is writing about Jesus Christ.
-
Right.
-
Verse three says, he is despised and rejected by men,
-
a man of sorrow and acquainted with grief, and we hid,
-
as it were our faces from him. He was despised
-
and we did not esteem him. Wow, Jesus Christ would choose.
-
To be in this position.
-
He has called us to follow him. Brothers and sisters,
-
think about that. Yeah, amazing is just when I was
-
like medity think, I'm like God, you really want me
-
to speak this? Well, this this just blow my mind.
-
So I just wanted to share with us. Yeah, let's
-
continue on from set from Philippins chapter two, verse eight. Yeah,
-
so we're just going to flip a bit right from
-
Isaiah chapter fifty three. You can just put your finger
-
there Isiah chapter fifty three, and then we'll go back
-
to Philippines chapter two. All right, Philippines chapter two, verse
-
eight will continue from there. Paul continued to write to
-
the Philbian Church about the Lord Jesus Christ, and verse
-
eight says from Philippines chapter two and being found in
-
the appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became
-
obedient to the point of death. Even the death on
-
the cross. Of course we know this, but I mean think,
-
think about it. He is he chose to come now
-
as a man, as a bond servant, as a full time,
-
lifetime slave, and at the same time chose to be
-
obedient to the point of death.
-
It was a struggle for the Lord Jesus Christ.
-
Even at that decision, just before he was brought to
-
by the soldiers.
-
Right to be judged right by the priest.
-
Right.
-
And you know this word humbled in verse it he
-
humbled himself is an action here taken How do you say,
-
taken by choice? Right?
-
It's a command of course from the Lord that he obeyed, right, Okay,
-
So he humbled himself. The word humbled here, right. You
-
can see my slide on the slide on the meaning
-
of humble. Humble means humble means tapinal okay, tapinal if yeah,
-
it looks like this, okay, but it sounds like tapinal okay.
-
To make low, to bring.
-
Low in fact, humble also it feels like or sounds
-
like human right, humble from the ground, right, So humble,
-
to make low, bring law to level, to.
-
Reduce to a plane. Right.
-
It's a metaphor to bring into a humble condition, reduced
-
to meaner circumstances. Right to assigned to a lower rank
-
or place, to abase, to be ranked below others who
-
are honored or rewarded. To humble or to abase myself
-
by humble living right. Humble also talks about to lower
-
or to depress of one's soul, bring down one's pride.
-
Right to have a modest opinion of oneself, to behave
-
in an uns assuming manner, and.
-
To devoid of all haughtiness. Okay, strong words, okay, right.
-
So in verse eight of Philippines, chapter two, and being
-
found in the appearance of men, he humbled himself and
-
became obedient to the point of death, even death on
-
the cross.
-
So ultimate humility.
-
Is obeying the father's will to lay down his life,
-
no matter how humilating it may be.
-
This is ultimate humility is.
-
By obeying God's will for his life. And he would
-
do this regardless of who he's doing it, you know,
-
doing it for of course he was.
-
He was doing it for obeying his father.
-
Right, but he was laying down in order to reconcile
-
men to God. This was the only way, and for
-
Jesus Christ to do that, it's a big ah. It's
-
it's it's a choice. It's a choice, of course, to
-
obey at the same time to do it for people
-
who don't deserve it.
-
Have you ever been in that situation before? Now you
-
have to do something.
-
Your parents tell you, Oh, you need to do something,
-
and you know it's for a good cause.
-
But you know your brother sisters don't deserve it, and
-
you have to do it for them. You know how
-
it feels, right, like, oh, I still have don't do it?
-
So it takes humility, like okay, Danny, Mommy, I will
-
obey even though.
-
It's difficult, right, it's difficult.
-
Hey, Jesus Christ was, Oh, Lord Jesus Christ is in
-
that position. Okay, He the Father willed, He laid down
-
his life to people who are undert right. God's ultimate
-
purpose was for the Lord Jesus Christ to die for
-
our sin in order that the human race will reconcile back.
-
And this is the only way.
-
Right. If you have your bibles at Isaiah chapter fifty three,
-
continue on from verse six there. Later we'll go back
-
to Philippians chapter two. Sorry are the flipping, but have
-
your bibles there. That's why it's good to.
-
Have a physical bible right there. You can have your
-
finger that otherwise you.
-
Have dohcross grow backscrosscrow back anyway.
-
Yeah.
-
So Isaiah chapter fifty three, verse four to six says,
-
surely he has borne our griefs.
-
And carried our sorrows.
-
Yet we esteem him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
-
But he was wondered for our transgressions. He was bruised
-
for our iniquities. The chastisements, chastisement.
-
For our peace was upon him.
-
Wow, the chastisement for our peace was upon him. And
-
by his stripes we are healed a man. Verse six says, all,
-
we like sheep, have gone astray. We have turned everyone
-
to his own way, and the Lord has laid on him,
-
Jesus Christ. The Lord has laid on Jesus Christ the
-
iniquity of us.
-
All. Wow, don't we love Jesus today? Just reading this
-
makes me fall in love.
-
With the Lord Jesus Christ again and again and again.
-
Amazing.
-
Okay, coming back again from the Philippians chapter two, verse nine.
-
Because of what Jesus Christ had done, what he has chosen,
-
and what he has done. Verse nine says, therefore God
-
also has highly exalted him and given him the name
-
which is above every name.
-
Verse ten says that at the name of Jesus, every knee.
-
Should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on
-
earth and those under the earth. Verse eleven says, and
-
that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord
-
to the glory of God the Father.
-
Wow.
-
What an amazing truth about the kingdom of God in
-
this that we can learn. James Chapter four, verse ten says,
-
humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he
-
will lift you up.
-
This is God's principle. Right.
-
Whenever we humble ourselves in the sight of the Lord,
-
he chooses, he promises. Okay, he promises that he will
-
lift us up. We can take this verse and memorize
-
it in times when we have to choose to be
-
humble and we.
-
Feel like, what's happening? God, where are you? Claim this verse?
-
Our God is faithful.
-
He is a promise keeping God, and he will lift
-
you up.
-
He promises that, okay.
-
James Chapter four, verse ten, First Peter chapter five, verse five. Likewise,
-
you younger people, hah.
-
Everyone pay attention.
-
All of us are young, right, okay, you younger Likewise you,
-
younger people, submit yourself to your elders. Right, yes, all
-
of you, including the older ones. Now okay, yes, all
-
of you, okay, all of you, yes, all of you
-
this admissive to one another and be clothed with humility.
-
How to submit ourselves to one another? The only way
-
is to clothe ourselves in humility. For God resist the proud,
-
but gives grace to the humble. I know we memorize
-
the scripture a lot, but when we pause to think
-
about it and really apply this in times when we
-
really need.
-
To, I think it's very powerful. It will.
-
It will really break through a lot of how they say,
-
it will break through a lot of conflicts.
-
It will break through a lot of you know, things
-
that are you know, causing.
-
Us to be heavy and you know the instead, it
-
will cause us to be victorious.
-
Amen. Right, This is the word of God. Right is powerful.
-
Right, and when we put it to practice, it's going
-
to be very We are stand to be blessed.
-
Okay.
-
So to be submissive to one another, we need to
-
be closed in humility to be this. And this is
-
also in the spirit of moving forward to twenty twenty five.
-
We are moving on to be discipled. Okay, So in
-
order to be submissive to one another. Where this is
-
talking about being discipled by you know, by a leader
-
in church.
-
And also we learn to disciple others.
-
Right, this is in a form of submitting to one another. Okay,
-
So before we enter twenty twenty five, to continue on
-
being discipled with one another, remember this verse verse Pitter,
-
chapter five, verse five. Submissive to one another and be
-
clothed with humility. Very important, if not very hard, to
-
submit to one another.
-
Ah. Yeah, so this is a secret you no, no,
-
the secret.
-
Yes, this is the secret to be clothed with humility,
-
so to be submissed. Yes, okay, Yes, let's go on
-
to the next verse. Second Corinthians, chapter twelve, verse seven
-
to ten.
-
Right.
-
So yeah, Verse seven says un lest i should be
-
exalted above measures. So this is Paul writing Paul the apostle.
-
Paul has gone through many forms of persecution. He is
-
writing to the Corinthian church here, right, and lest I
-
should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations.
-
And okay, so here because before verse.
-
Seven you can read in context, right, Paul was saying
-
that he knows of a person that has encountered God.
-
He has gone into the supernatural, you know. But at
-
the same time, you know, he's writing here he knows
-
a lot of things. God has brought him experiences over experiences.
-
Verse seven continue to say, a torn in the flesh
-
was given to me a messenger of Satan, to buffet me,
-
lest I be exalted above measure. While God has given
-
him a torn in his flesh. Despite he knows like
-
he has experienced supernatural stuff, but he has this torn
-
in his flesh.
-
Verse eight says concerning this thing.
-
I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might
-
depart from me. Verse nine says, and he said to me,
-
my grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is
-
made perfect in weakness.
-
Right.
-
We always claim this verse Amen, Right, this is where
-
it's coming from. Therefore, most gladly, I will rather both
-
in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest
-
upon me.
-
Verse ten. Therefore I take pleasure in affirmatives. Wow. Therefore
-
I take pleasures.
-
In affirmatives, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses
-
for Christi's sake, For when I am weak, then I
-
am strong.
-
This is where we get the verse from sometimes we're unaware.
-
Were always sing Amen, I am weak, then I am strong.
-
So yeah, second Corinthe chapter twelve, it's biblical. We're singing
-
songs from the Bible. Okay, So so really, thank God
-
that strength and ability are not the criteria by.
-
Which God chooses to use people.
-
Wow, thank you Jesus, because I know I don't have
-
the strength and ability. A lot of times I thank
-
God he doesn't choose me because of my strength and ability.
-
Embrace the truth that God's strength is perfected in our weaknesses.
-
Someone say, amen, the truth will set us free to
-
be used powerfully by God.
-
Receive his grace.
-
It is all we need. A man, a man right
-
and the tone in the flesh. May I share a
-
testimony here? Just last Thursday, I tell you this tone
-
in the fresh as I was also finalizing the message
-
for today.
-
You know, God have to just bring me through this experience.
-
Suddenly I think I have a bit of like a
-
dry eye situation. A dry eye means usually our eye
-
is moist, right, So when the eye is not moist
-
and something is wrong, right, So what I experience.
-
I never experienced this before.
-
But the pain, the pain feels like have like a lot,
-
like like something goes in the eye and it poks it. Yeah,
-
so it it feels like that, and then if I
-
go to the doctor, the doctor will say.
-
Oh, there's nothing in your eye. You must be experiencing
-
my eyes, like give you a solution.
-
Okay, But you know, Thursday was very bad in a
-
point that I feel like, oh, actually, the whole day,
-
from the starting of the day until the end of
-
the day, I'm like, God, this thing, this thing is
-
so painful us. So I was bearing with it because
-
the week before the doctor already gave me a dry
-
eye solution. I was thinking, Okay, I'll try to use it.
-
Actually it's finishing already, but I try to buy something else.
-
So I was like, God, please remove this thing from me.
-
I'm like, I didn't know if I prayed three times.
-
And all, but like Paul, so I'm like, oh, okay.
-
Then thank God.
-
That night Thursday night, never I was sleeping right suddenly
-
it's just on my right eye, that pain, that torn,
-
that that pain in the eye. Then when I sleep
-
that time, right, I feel like wh like gushes of
-
water just rushing down. I feel like God was healing
-
my eye was like just crushing gosh.
-
So I was just like half a sleep ready.
-
You can, I can feel like tears flowing down, but
-
it's only on one I usually if they flow both eyes, right,
-
but this time is only one.
-
I So I don't know medically, but I.
-
Really felt that God was just healing me. Then that
-
the next morning, I felt so much better. You know how,
-
you know, when you have a wound on your your skin, right,
-
sometimes you feel like still that wound. Yeah, so I
-
felt a bit of the wound, but I didn't feel
-
that thing anymore.
-
So I really praise God for the healing.
-
I don't know how, but really I really believe that
-
God healed my eye.
-
And until today I'm okay, thank you Jesus. Yes.
-
So that then that Friday morning, when I woke up, right,
-
I felt so good. This verse came to me, The
-
thorn in the flesh tell my people this tone, And
-
so I went, okay, okay, find the verse.
-
Fine, the worst pund in the flesh. Okay, so this
-
is the message. Yeah, So the torne in the flesh
-
right it?
-
You know, you know, and and you know, God wants
-
to remind us about this grace, right, this grace his
-
grace right. I have also prepared the words grace right.
-
Grace means okay, looks like carriers, but when I hear
-
the sound is carrist carwitness sound only Yes, yes, Harris, okay,
-
you have to use that within your harri is okay,
-
Grace okay, grace, grace that which affords joy, right, pleasure, delight, sweetness, charm. Okay,
-
maybe due to time, I will not go through all
-
but basically grace in a way, it's like God's blessing.
-
Okay, it's his reward.
-
Right, and I have also some Yeah, you can just
-
go next until the end, until the the verses as well. Okay,
-
you can just capture these examples. I will not go
-
to it due to time. Write Second Chronicles. This was
-
my also quiet time that I've been reading through the
-
book of Chronicles about the Kings. So today I will
-
not show any man or anything. But yeah, these are
-
examples over and over again. Second Chronicles always talk about
-
this very very repetitive.
-
Word called humble. Right. So the Kings have been going
-
through half times, and when they don't humble.
-
Themselves, when they lift themselves up, things go bad. But
-
when they humble themselves, right, God intervenes. Right, God, God
-
protect them from his wrath. Yeah, and God, God, you know,
-
just protected them and their people. So it's very powerful
-
examples as well for us to just read about it.
-
Okay, I mean this is just a few scriptures.
-
Actually there's so many more, but this is just a handful,
-
all right, Matthew. Chapter eighteen, Verse one to four. Okay, yes, okay,
-
so this is very important also talking about the Kingdom
-
of God. Right at that time, the disciples came to Jesus, saying,
-
who then is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.
-
Verse two says, then Jesus called a little child to him,
-
set him in the midst of them, and said, assuredly,
-
I say to you, unless you are converted and become
-
as little children, you were by no means enter the
-
Kingdom of Heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself as this little
-
child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. Very important.
-
Verse four.
-
Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the
-
greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. It describes of a
-
person who is devoid of all arrogance and self exaltation,
-
a person.
-
Who is willingly submitted to God and his will.
-
Right, So Jesus challenges our habit of linking authority with domination. Right,
-
in God's kingdom, authority is men for victorious living and
-
defeating evil, not for controlling others or serving ourselves. He
-
calls us to humble. He calls us to be humble
-
like children and to serve with love. This is the
-
heart and spirit of how believers should use God's power
-
a man. This can be seen as well Jesus showing
-
the examples to his disciples in John chapter thirteen, verse
-
one to seven.
-
Right, he didn't just.
-
Preach, preach, preach, preach, He didn't just say everything, but
-
he exemplified this with his disciples in John chapter thirteen,
-
verse one to seventeen. Next light, you see the picture there, right,
-
Jesus watches his disciples feet.
-
Right.
-
Okay, I will skip due to time. I will not
-
read from verse one all the way to seventeen, but
-
I was. I will use this verse twelve to seventeen. Okay,
-
if you have your bibles, John chapter the teen verse one,
-
Okay to John Chapter the teen, verse twelve.
-
I'm going to read for that.
-
So when Jesus had washed their feet taken his garments
-
and sat down. He said to them, do you know
-
what I have done for you and done to you?
-
Do you know what I have done to you? Verse
-
the teen says you call me teacher and Lord, and
-
you say, well, for so I am.
-
Verse fourteen.
-
If I, then your lord and teacher have washed your feet,
-
you also ought to wash one another's feet. Oh, such
-
a good reminder.
-
All right? Verse fifteen.
-
For I have given you an example that you should
-
do as I have done to you Verse sixteen. Most assuredly,
-
I say to you, a servant is not greater than
-
his master, nor is he who is sent greater.
-
Than he who sent him. Verse seventeen.
-
If you know these things, blessed are you if you
-
do them?
-
You get that. Verse seventeen.
-
I read again, If you know these things, blessed are
-
you if you do them. Jesus has exemplified the washing
-
of feed to his disciples. He says that if you
-
do this to each other being served each other, blessed
-
are you if you do them?
-
Amen? Right? Okay, okay, and you know what you know?
-
Even I really enjoyed our local prayer service.
-
Last local prayer service for the year that was so awesome, right,
-
and we will ask everyone to share something about this year.
-
I share that while this year is a humbling year
-
for me, the word humble is the entire year for
-
my this year, right, And you know, I thank God that,
-
you know, even thrue my relationship with God, my marriage, family,
-
in my career, in ministry, in my health. I really
-
thank God that God is humbling me in the process
-
in this entire year.
-
It's truly. Yeah, it takes you, Okay, I can't.
-
I need to admit that I am not perfect still though,
-
I'm still in the process of humbling.
-
Yeah, still in the process.
-
I think until I see Jesus again, until I leave
-
this I think the process will continue. But this year,
-
humility has humbling. Humbling, yeah, is really the theme for me,
-
for me personally, right. So it takes humility to admit
-
that I really need Him in every area of my life.
-
And I can't do it with my own strength and wisdom,
-
but God wants to use me to make his glory
-
known that all may know.
-
Amen. Right. In my marriage, it takes humility to be
-
submissive to my husband.
-
Okay, honestly, I just say he's not here, Okay, Yeah,
-
he's there, right, right, I honestly have to say, right,
-
I'm not perfect. Yes, God commands every wife to be
-
submissive to the husband.
-
Yeah, I am still learning. Okay, I'm not perfect in that. Okay.
-
It takes humility to die to self daily.
-
I tell you, I tell you, I always look to Jesus,
-
my eyes on Jesus right at at the same time
-
not losing my identity and my role as a wife
-
and support towards my husband. I am still myself even
-
as I submit myself to my husband, or when I
-
humble myself, I'm still myself right right, like how Jesus.
-
Is towards my family.
-
My mother in law has been tremendous health in our family, right,
-
but she has gone back to Johor to support my
-
father in law who is recovering from his food infection.
-
Right. But in my.
-
Family, it takes humility to regularly do house chores.
-
I mean, how many of you are in that place.
-
I feel like it takes humility to regularly do house chores,
-
even when I feel that I am the only one.
-
I feel like I didn't say, the others didn't know,
-
but I feel my own pov, my pov. I feel
-
that I am the only one to do most of them,
-
and remembering not.
-
To complain or mamo.
-
I tell you, sometimes I'm like, why is everybody not
-
doing it?
-
Like? Okay?
-
So so it takes humility, okay, Okay. At work, it
-
takes humility to work together with colleagues from all walks
-
of life, culture, track record Okay, ask all my dish
-
our collix here, yeah, so they will agree.
-
Okay.
-
So it takes humility to work together with colliques from
-
all walks of life, culture and track record of never
-
ending challenges, right, especially when I have to do something, okay,
-
especially when I have done something wrong right, and to
-
admit a mistake on behalf of the team, because I
-
am my role as a project manager in the company
-
or in my team, right, whatever my team does a mistake,
-
as a as a leader, I take it as well,
-
and I'll need to lead, of course the team and
-
convey to my stakeholders what has happened. That takes a
-
lot of humility and courage to admit that I'm wrong.
-
So that even this happened this week, I'll.
-
Tell you this week, God has been speaking also to
-
me about this message. So on Thursday that that day.
-
I mean, I remember something went wrong, I have to
-
admit it to of course, my boss, and then eventually
-
have to clean up some stuff. Right, And that day,
-
when I was traveling back, I was standing on the
-
radio BFM eighty nine point nine. Okay, I was listening
-
to evening Edition talk back show.
-
The question was, is it hard to admit when you're wrong?
-
I'm like, God, what are you saying? The title was
-
that is it hard to admit when you're wrong? God?
-
God is really speaking and you know.
-
Okay, So if you want to listen to that, you
-
download the app and listen to it.
-
Okay, it's a really good conversation. Okay. Is it hard
-
to admit when you're wrong?
-
It takes a lot of humility, right to admit that
-
I'm wrong?
-
Okay.
-
In ministry, it takes humility to say yes to serving
-
in any dream team and area.
-
Diligiently and faithfully.
-
I tell you we can serve everything, but being diligent
-
and faithful. It takes a lot of humility. When the
-
music faiths, when the feelings, faith and all is stripped away, well,
-
I still carry on discipling, leading and encouraging. I mean
-
it takes a lot of for meh, it takes a
-
lot of humility to be in this ministry, okay. And
-
also it takes humility to share about my health challenges
-
with others as well. And for me, it takes a
-
lot of humility to go to the doctors. You can
-
ask my husband, I'm a very stubborn person to go
-
to the doctors.
-
Okay. It takes a lot of humility and.
-
Come to the doctor doctor like that, okay for me,
-
for me, okay, this is for my health. Right, So really,
-
you know, yeah, humility, that's throughout my whole whole year,
-
this year twenty twenty four. As we are twenty twenty four,
-
right in Luke, chapter three, verse four to six.
-
Right here, we're talking.
-
About John the Baptist, right as it is written in
-
the Book of the Words of Isaiah, the prophet saying,
-
the voice of one crying in the wilderness, prepare the
-
way of the Lord, make his path straight. Every valley
-
shall be filled, and every mountain and hill brought low.
-
That's what is yellow in color.
-
The crooked places shall be made straight and the rough
-
ways smooth verse six. And all flesh shall see the
-
salvation of God.
-
The result is verse six. Right. The result is verse six,
-
and all fash shall see the salvation of God.
-
That is the objective, right that we want to achieve,
-
that all fast shall see the salvation of God, that
-
all may know, right verse six Right. So in order
-
to reach to that objective, prepare the way of the Lord.
-
You know, those those those things that we need to
-
prepare the way of the Lord. Make sure his power,
-
and one of it is there verse five, And every
-
mountain and hell brought law. This became a revelation to
-
me that in order that all may know, we need
-
to clothe ourselves in humility to be submissive to one another.
-
How can we that all may know while we are
-
not submitting to one another? Not clothing humility?
-
Right?
-
Church? Yes? Okay, very good? In summary, thank you Jesus.
-
In summary, just the ABC to humility right A. Aligned
-
with Christ, follow his example whilst staying true to his
-
identity for you, very important His identity for you are yes,
-
yes we yes, I am who I am. But always
-
remember it is God who calls me who I am.
-
Amen.
-
That's a b build unity, submit to God and others,
-
fostering discipleship, Amen, in order to be united. We need
-
to submit to one another and to be disciples together.
-
Okay, that's why.
-
That's why Jesus Christ says, go and make disciples. When
-
we make disciples, in other words, we are submitting to
-
one another to be able that all may know Jesus Christ.
-
Right, that all flash shall see the salvation of God.
-
See claim God's promises, because when we are clothing humility,
-
God promises his blessings over us. He promises his grace,
-
he promises his strength, he promises victory while leading others
-
to him.
-
Amen.
-
Right, this is the abcis of humility, very important. Right
-
in closing, I can invite the extremers up.
-
Also in closing my car chapter six, verse eight.
-
Right, we've heard all that we've heard from God today
-
Mic six verse eight, closing with this verse. God has
-
shown you, oh man, He has shown you, O man,
-
what is good? Humility is good because it's from God.
-
Even Jesus Christ himself, he is clothing humility. And what
-
does the Lord require of you of us today but
-
to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly
-
with your God.
-
Amen.
-
Amen, we hope you've been blessed by this message. For
