You're listening to a message to go from ext church.
-
We hope this message will light up your tea.
-
Jesus himself was the example of love, example of washing
-
each other's feet to serve each other.
-
Remember, right.
-
And then we also talk about the good Samaritan. How
-
we remember about who our neighbor is?
-
Right? Next life? Right?
-
And we remember about the story of the beggar in
-
the restaurant. Remember the story next line? Yeah, okay, yes,
-
So these were the points that we had on the
-
second part from Matthew chapter twenty two, verse thirty four
-
to forty, which it says Jesus said that you shall
-
love the Lord your God with all your heart, with
-
all your soul, and with all your mind.
-
And this is the first and great commandment.
-
And the second is like, you shall love your neighbor
-
as yourself.
-
Right.
-
So, and then we talk about like the points, who.
-
Is our neighbor? What is love? From First Quarantians chapter thirteen, right.
-
And also we talk about world's wisdom and God's word right,
-
the comparison of it. Then we talk about, of course
-
the story of the beggar at the restaurant next light.
-
Yes, so I shared a story about this crazy.
-
But yeah, God is good. God is good, and he's
-
working in our hearts. He's making us stronger. Right, Okay,
-
So now today are we ready for potry?
-
Yeah, that's good.
-
Okay, let's go potry diesel. Disciples of Jesus ba much fruit.
-
Repeat after me, Disciples of Jesus bare much fruit.
-
A man? All right? Okay.
-
So we will be reading from John chapter fifteen, verse
-
one one to it. So this is the main scripture
-
for today. John chapter fifteen was one to eight.
-
Yeah, you can turn to it if you have your bibles,
-
all right.
-
I shall be reading from the NKJV version John chapter fifteen,
-
verse one to eight. It says that I am the Vine,
-
I am the true vine.
-
This is Jesus.
-
Okay, right, Sorry, Before I continue to read, just a
-
little bit of a background from John chapter fifteen. Now,
-
Jesus when he was speaking, right, if you have your bibles,
-
and your bibles will have like all the.
-
Great words, right.
-
And the background about this scripture is that this is
-
the last words of Jesus Christ to his disciples before
-
he is going to be lad to be crucified. Okay,
-
So always think last words for someone who's going to
-
die or going to live this earth or yeah it's
-
gonna yeah, going to go through a big trouble is
-
very important, right, important words, right, and you want to
-
take note.
-
And he is like telling.
-
His disciples because it's so important, because when he leaves,
-
he knows that with the words that he will tell
-
his disciples, it's so important and for them to carry on.
-
Okay, So this is very important.
-
John chapter fifteen, Verse one, Jesus said, I am the
-
true vine, and my father is the vine dresser. Every
-
branch in me that does not bare fruit he takes
-
away in other In other words, it also says in
-
my Bible he lives up. Okay, he lives up. Every
-
every branch in me that does not bear fruit, he
-
lives up, okay. And every branch that bears fruit he
-
prunes that it may bear more fruit. Amen 's three,
-
you are already clean because of the word which I
-
have spoken to you.
-
Verse four. Abide in me and I in you.
-
As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it
-
abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide
-
in me.
-
Verse five.
-
I am the vine. You are the branches. He who
-
abides in me, and I in him bears much fruit,
-
for without Me you can do nothing. In other words,
-
it also says that without abiding in Jesus we cannot
-
do anything that will last, anything that is eternal.
-
Okay. Verse six.
-
If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast
-
out as a branch and is withered.
-
And they gather them and.
-
Throw them into the fire, and they are burned. Verse seven.
-
If you abide in Me and my words abide in you,
-
you will ask whatever you desire, and it shall be
-
done to you.
-
Hey, it's a secret promise of God. Hey, verse seven.
-
If you have not highlighted it in your Bible, you
-
can do it right now. If you abide in me,
-
I shall repeat again verse seven. If you abide in
-
Me and my words abide in you, you will ask
-
whatever you desire, and it shall be done for you.
-
Hey, Hey, hey, hey, highlight, highlight, highlight, highlight. Okay, that's
-
verse seven, verse eight, verse eight.
-
You can also highlight this very important verse eight. By this,
-
my Father is glorified that you bear much fruit, so
-
you will be my disciples. A man God bless the
-
reading of his word.
-
Amen.
-
So, just to break down for us this this scripture
-
from Chapter fifteen, verse one to.
-
Eight, right next Life.
-
Okay, yeah, so that so today's main scripture is actually
-
from verse seven to verse eight, but for the context
-
of it, we have read from verse one to verse eight.
-
Okay, right next Life. Okay, So John chapter fifteen.
-
It's so important to abide in the vine because Jesus
-
said that I am the true vine. In verse one,
-
it says, I Jesus is I am the true vine.
-
That means there will be or there could be. There
-
was probably vine that are not true.
-
Right. So that's why Jesus had to say that I
-
am the true vine, and my father is the vine dresser. Okay.
-
So, and Jesus he he wants his people to know
-
that he is the true vine, and he wants his
-
disciples to abide in him. A very good reminder for
-
all of us, if you're a believer of the Lord
-
Jesus Christ, be reminded again that it's so important to
-
come back to God again, to abide in him, to
-
draw from him. What is he really trying to say
-
in our time and in our season, in the challenges
-
that we are living in today, It's very important to
-
come back to God again. I am the true vine
-
right to abide in Jesus.
-
Right. It's very hard to see, but there was actually
-
a writing.
-
The vine is the vine is the one that's grown,
-
the branch that's growing from the bottom up, that's the
-
true vine.
-
Okay.
-
And then the branch that branch out there, it says, believer,
-
the branch.
-
Okay, okay, yes, okay.
-
So this is the vine right, the vine right, the
-
true vine okay. And we are called to abide in him.
-
Okay.
-
And I'm going to spend a bit of time here
-
because this is so so important before bearing much fruit.
-
Okay, it's the source of it. Okay. Abide okay. This
-
in fact, this word abide it.
-
Has I have also shared this in the first part
-
of this series that we talk about abiding in God's word. Now,
-
just a reminder again, abide in Greek is called mayor
-
no okay, man no. Everybody saying with me, man no,
-
man no okay.
-
Abide.
-
Abide is to remain okay, to remain In reference to
-
a place, it means to tarry to sojeurn or not
-
to depart okay, or I like to to translate it
-
to not to give up okay, not not to depart
-
don't give up from from abiding, right, abiding, to stay,
-
to continue to be present, to be held, kept and continually. Okay,
-
there is I truly believe there is something about just abiding,
-
just staying this.
-
You know, you know, you know I've been you know,
-
during my.
-
Campus this, I've you know a lot of people around me,
-
my campus friends. Then okay, then that a lot of
-
people use to jump from church to church, right, yeah,
-
but my leaders in ex church was encouraging all of
-
us that actually, you know, abiding, you know, staying in
-
a church is not wrong.
-
Okay, it's not wrong.
-
And you know, it's like a stone that is not
-
always rolling will be collecting moss.
-
Is that a saying to that again? Yes, rolling stone
-
gathers no moss.
-
Okay, yes, so I always remember a rolling stone gathers
-
no mores. And I really appreciate that that that encouragement
-
to abide, not just abide, not just abide in the church,
-
but also to abide in God. And I find that
-
very beneficial for me personally, right and also for me
-
about abiding even in my workplace. So just in case
-
if you did not know, I have already worked in
-
DHL for now seventeen years, still abiding, okay, so abiding
-
in extra abiding in my company, abiding in the Word
-
of God.
-
Abiding, And I gather so.
-
Much moss in a way, if you like to say
-
that so much benefit, so much that I could still learn.
-
I mean it's like never ending. If you ask any
-
of our DHL colliques here, never.
-
Ending, never ending.
-
It's okay, it's okay, So abiding is so much to learn?
-
But because okay, okay, next the next point. Number two, right, abide.
-
Men also talks about in reference to time, to continue
-
to be, not to perish, not to perish, not to
-
die or not to give up, or to last, to
-
endure okay, true time okay, okay, for a person like
-
for a person to man no, to abide means to survive,
-
to live on okay verse sorry. Number three, Men also
-
talks about in reference to state or condition.
-
He talks about to remain as one, not to become
-
another or different. Abide to be the same person, to
-
be consistent.
-
I thank God that he is the same God yesterday, today,
-
and tomorrow. He is a god he abides okay, man, no, right, this.
-
Is his characteristic and I appreciate that.
-
Right.
-
And he's calling his people, he's calling his sons.
-
And daughters to follow after him, to abide, to be yes,
-
to be more.
-
Like Jesus, to be more like Jesus. Right, to be
-
more like Jesus. Right, and also the second part.
-
Okay, As you can see at the bottom that Meno
-
also talks about to wait for and weight one.
-
In this generation, we don't like to wait. Agree yes, agree.
-
Yes, I know, right, like we like instant nodles or
-
my my, my kids love instant nodubts. Everybody, I'm sure
-
some of us love secretly yes, yes, yes, yes, yeah.
-
We we cannot wait.
-
We must have the fastest car, if slow, slow car,
-
family car, cannot don't have the power one, don't lie,
-
don't lie, you know, must be fast, must be there
-
like you know, the fastest you know, yes, everything must
-
be fast fast yeah yeah, but you know, this generation
-
must learn to wait. In fact, it is actually difficult,
-
I must admit also, it is very difficult to wait.
-
No thing in our lives encourages us to it. You
-
agree or not?
-
Yes, right, even when we are sick or when we
-
are recovering from something, from an injury, we will find
-
it so difficult, right, It so difficult to wait to recover.
-
Sometimes it takes months, sometimes it may take years.
-
Waiting time, right, and in fact, God is also encouraging us.
-
If you are in that waiting period, don't fred Okay,
-
it's a time where you can learn something. And probably
-
God is speaking to you, right, be encouraged, brothers and
-
sisters that he wants to speak to you, and he
-
wants you to learn something about abiding, about waiting, about
-
being still right and yeah right, and even in the waiting,
-
sometimes we will tend to want to take charge. You know.
-
Sometimes when we are abiding in you know, waiting, sometimes
-
we want to say something. Sometimes we wonder, like you
-
know it, like you know, we cannot. We cannot keep
-
the silence for too long. We must say something. I
-
must admit, as girl, as women. Now we just have
-
to say something one yes, you know, no, we cannot
-
have silent period, agree not agree on yes, yes, okay, okay,
-
I see some nodding here some once I'm smiling, yes, yes, okay, yes, okay.
-
I'm not alone, okay, all right.
-
Yeah, So you know, in our lives there is like
-
you know, nothing encourages us to it, but the word
-
of God calls us back to abide in Him. It
-
is so important and even in our huddle meets right
-
pastor also remind us to wait upon him. All right,
-
So just the next like how to abide in Jesus,
-
how to abide in God?
-
In fact?
-
Yes, the word of God says in Isaiah chapter forty,
-
verse thirty one, there is this promise that says that
-
they who wait for the Lord, in fact this weight,
-
it's like abiding as well, wait for the Lord. Abiding
-
in the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount
-
out with wings like egos. They shall run and not
-
grow weary. They shall walk and not be faint.
-
Amen.
-
Right, brothers and sisters, if you are in this waiting time,
-
be encourage. The Lord wants to strengthen you from the inside.
-
But it requires us to wait to abide, right, So
-
how can we abide?
-
Like okay, okay what wait? Wait? Abide means to do what? Okay?
-
Oh yeah, this.
-
Word wait weight also talks about like you know, you
-
know a lot of us like to the ladies and
-
ladies are with long heven like.
-
To read right rading braiding, Yeah, yes, and it takes time.
-
Also, yes, I know the weight In Isaiah chapter for
-
thee just now, we read that weight talks about weaving together.
-
So in this waiting time, right, God wants.
-
To weave us. Also we weave.
-
That means we are bind binding ourselves with God to
-
know him, to really hear his heart. Okay, so here
-
how to abide in God? Three ws Also at our
-
huddlemat we also talk about this worship. Worship is not
-
just about singing songs. Worship is a lifestyle worship. It's
-
not a performance like what we did today, right, It's
-
not a performance. Worship can be at home as well.
-
Worship also talks about a sacrifice. What is that sacrifice
-
that you want to bring before God as you abide
-
in him? Hey, abiding in God requires sacrifice. That's an
-
act of worship. That's where the if you remember Abraham
-
when he sacrifices his son, Right, that's a sacrifice of worship.
-
When we worship. For example, for me to abide in God, it.
-
Takes me to sacrifice my sleep. Okay, I need to
-
wake up really early because other time of the day,
-
there's no other time. So the only time that I
-
can make is early in the morning before I start
-
my day.
-
So it requires my sacrifice.
-
So that is worship also, right, worshiping God, thinking about him,
-
meditating on his word.
-
That's worship unto God, thinking about Him.
-
Even throughout the day when I'm busy, I'm reminded of
-
different verses in the Bible. Sometimes I do have stickers
-
on my desk as well, like reminding me Versus that
-
I shall hold my tongue, I shall be patient, and
-
things like that.
-
Bible Versus reminds me.
-
And when I remember the Bible Versus, when I meditate
-
on it.
-
I worship God right, worship God.
-
And God requires us to worship him in spirit and
-
in truth.
-
Very important.
-
The Holy Father God in the Bible, it talks about
-
Father God, Who are seeking?
-
Do you know that God seeks us?
-
He seeks us. We don't just seek people, don't just
-
seek God. But God seeks us. He seeks our hearts.
-
And he seeks worship ers who will worship.
-
Him in spirit and in truth. So let's be reminded
-
to worship God in spirit and in truth.
-
Right.
-
And when we say in spirit and in truth, truth
-
talks about the Word of God. Spirit talks about the
-
Holy Spirit. Okay, who the Holy Spirit is? That's why
-
we need to wait upon him. That's number two wait right,
-
that's what I say.
-
Just now.
-
We can't wait a bide, need to abide and wait.
-
Wait means to you know, like waiters.
-
Waiters. You know, like waiters, they wait upon the customer.
-
Right.
-
And waiting is also how do you say a non
-
active active word? It requires yes, it's an active yes, yes,
-
waiting it requires also energy and you need to wait.
-
You need to be alert.
-
One the customer says something you must take not write
-
it down or yeah you remember, but yes, a short
-
pencil is always better than a long memory. Okay, not yeah, wait,
-
wait upon the Lord right. Wait and maybe the Holy
-
Spirit is speaking to you something again, Write it down, Write,
-
write it down, journal it.
-
Journaling is very important. Journal it o Holy Spirit speaks
-
to us. Journally it.
-
Wait upon the Lord right, Walk in the spirit. Okay,
-
you will understand that walking in the spirit it also
-
walking in the spirit fights against the flesh. The flesh
-
and the spirit doesn't come together like water and oil. Right,
-
it cannot mix together. Flesh and spirit is always at war,
-
and we need to walk in the spirit.
-
Okay, how okay. We will read later okay.
-
In the Bible verse, later in galations, but always remember
-
as we abide in the Holy when we abide in Jesus,
-
in God, right, we want to know him, right, many
-
of us see the Holy Spirit as a power.
-
Right, we want to use the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit,
-
please heal me, Holy Spirit, please do this, Holy Spirit,
-
please do that. Yes, yes, Holy Spirit can.
-
But the problem with this is we always want to
-
use the Holy Spirit as a power.
-
But he is a person.
-
When we know the Holy Spirit as a person, we
-
want Holy Spirit to use us. Okay, right, So it's
-
important to know the Holy Spirit not just as a power,
-
but know the Holy Spirit as a person so that
-
Holy Spirit can use us. Okay, always remember okay, right,
-
So next next part right, so abide in Jesus. The
-
next slide, right is to bear much fruit only in
-
that abiding with the Lord. That's why I have spent
-
I have spent a few more moments a larger portion
-
of this time to talk about abiding because it is
-
so important. We need to focus in abiding so that
-
we can bear much fruit. Not focusing on bearing much fruit, yeah,
-
and focusing on the bearing much root because the abiding
-
will produce the fruit. So important to have have that remembrance.
-
Sometimes we always tell, okay, you need to be more patient.
-
You need to be more patient, or you need to
-
be more loving.
-
But how can they unless they abide in the Lord?
-
Right?
-
Okay?
-
So yes, very important. Yeah, even for ourselves. We will
-
always expect ourselves. Oh why can't I be more patient?
-
Why can I be more joyful? Why can't I be
-
more self contrued? It's only in that.
-
Abiding in the Lord, abiding Jesus.
-
Okay, So that's that's where bearing much fruit comes about.
-
Let's read in Gallations chapter Yeah, next night you can
-
see the verse Galaxians chapter five. If you have your Bibles,
-
you can turn to it. Gallations chapter five. Let's read
-
from verse twenty two to twenty six. Also look at
-
the screen. It says that, oh from verse sorry, okay,
-
Let's read from Galatians chapter five, verse sixteen. Okay, yes, okay.
-
Galicians chapter five or sixteen. It says, I say, then
-
walk in the spirit, and you shall not fulfill the
-
last of the flesh, for the flesh lasts against the spirit,
-
and the spirit against the flesh. That's what I say
-
just now, right like the Holy Spirit and the flesh
-
cannot come together.
-
They cannot come together.
-
Right, And these are contrary to one another, so that
-
you do not do the things that you wish verse eighteen.
-
But if you are led by the spirit, you are
-
not under the law verse nineteen. Now the words of
-
the flesh are evident, which are adultery, phnication and cleanless luteness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies,
-
outbirds of wrath.
-
Reminds me of my kids.
-
Okay, selfish, ambitious, sorry, dissensions, heresies, and we murder, drunkenness, rivalries,
-
and the like of which I tell you beforehand, just
-
as also, just as I also told you in time past,
-
that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom.
-
Of God wow Verse twenty two.
-
But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace,
-
long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control. Against such
-
there is no law. And those who are who are Christs,
-
have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If
-
we live in the spirit, let us also walk in
-
the spirit. Let us not become considered provoking one another
-
and being one another right. And do you know that
-
I believe personally, I believe the problems that we are
-
facing in our world today reveal the lack of the
-
fruit of the spirit. It is said, but there is
-
still hope because the Church is still alive today. Right,
-
That's why we are here, still existing, still breathing. We
-
are not all called up to heaven because that's what
-
to be done. Right, Thank God for this solution, which
-
is the fruit of the spirit.
-
Right.
-
Yeah, we have so many things like just now we
-
have read just now on so many things.
-
Of the flesh. Right right.
-
And if only the Church or every believer of the
-
Lord Jesus Christ, every disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ,
-
bites in the true vine and produces much fruit, man,
-
the world can truly be a different place.
-
And it shall be even as declared this in faith.
-
Amen, right, yes, okay, right, And when we disciples of
-
the Lord Jesus Christ, bear much fruit next light, then
-
people will eat of this fruit. People will taste of
-
this fruit, people will experience of this amazing fruit of
-
the spirit from.
-
Us, and they will glorify God in heaven. Right.
-
Matthew Chapter five, verse sixteen says. If you can see
-
the verse on the bike on the screen, it says
-
Matthew five or sixteen says, let your light so shine
-
before men, that they may see your good works and
-
glorify your Father there in heaven. People needs to see,
-
people needs to taste, People need to experience this which
-
is very lacking in the world today. It is only
-
from this fruit of the spirit that they will be
-
able to experience and then glorify God in heaven. Right,
-
as we are all in this our forty days prayer
-
and fast. Right, there's this a devotion that we have
-
been reading in X in the Book of X. Right,
-
so I like to draw examples of these tree stages
-
like we saw just now, abiding in Jesus, or rather
-
abiding in God, bearing much fruit, and.
-
God being glorified. Yeah.
-
Next, like there's actually okay, Yes, I wanted to say,
-
glorifying God. That is our ultimate aim as well. Haber
-
Cook two fourteen. Haber Cook two fourteen says for the earth,
-
let's read together, ready, one to treat for the earth
-
will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of
-
the Lord as the water covers the sea.
-
Amen.
-
If we like it or not, how it is in
-
the world today, it shall come to pass. Right, people
-
will glorify God in heaven. The whole earth shall be
-
filled with the glory, the knowledge of the glory of
-
the Lord as the water covers the seed, right, and
-
let's be part of this, Okay. So let me draw
-
examples from the Book of X chapter thirteen, verse forty
-
two to forty nine.
-
It's amazing, Okay. When I read with this.
-
I read this is really really encouraging X chapter thirteen.
-
If you have your Bibles, you can turn to it.
-
I shall quickly go through this, okay. Chapter thirteen, verse
-
forty two. It says that, Okay, so remember this part.
-
Of the story.
-
If we've been following the devotion right for forty days,
-
pray and fast, Okay. In this where where we have Paul, right,
-
we have Paul and Barnabas. Now they have been sharing
-
the gospel, right, Okay. Now we are at verse forty
-
two of chapter fourteen. Okay, so this is the reaction
-
of the Jews.
-
Okay.
-
There were a mixture of people in the congregation when
-
Paul and Barnabas was sharing the gospel. There were Jews
-
and there were gentiles, okay, all together that verse forty two.
-
So when the Jews went out of the syneagou meaning
-
to say oh after worship, surveys after everything is done.
-
So when the Jews went out of the synegogue, the
-
gentiles bag that these words might be preached to them
-
the next Sabbath. Right, so the gentles wanted Paul and
-
Barnabas to come back next week and come and share again,
-
right verse forty three. Now, when the congregation had broken up,
-
meaning to say, when everybody had gone back home, right,
-
many of the Jews and devout proselytes, proselytes are the
-
uh Greek Greek converted to Judaism. Okay, these are proselytes, Okay,
-
there are there are the gentiles.
-
In other words, okay, yes, they followed.
-
Paul and Barnabas, who's speaking to them, persuaded them to
-
continue in the grades of gods, meaning to say, uh,
-
there are some Jews. That there are many Jews, and
-
there are some gentiles right, converted to Judaism.
-
They followed Paul.
-
So after after it's like after worship service, right, everybody
-
go back, But this there's a big group of Jews
-
and some proselytes. They followed Paul back and continue to
-
talk to Paul after worship service. After the service, right,
-
but then Paul tells the people Paul and Bannabas tell
-
the people to continue in the grace of God. This
-
is this is something very supernatural. I don't know why,
-
but when I was meditating on this scripture, this was
-
like a key right. The Paul and Barnabas was telling
-
the people before next week, before I come back next week,
-
continue in the grace of God. Right, continue in the
-
grace of God. I was still meditating, and I'm still
-
meditating God. What is this continue and this word continue,
-
It's a keyword. Continue, abide, continue in the grace of God. Continue, Okay, Continue.
-
So Paul and.
-
Barnabas encourage the believers to continue, or rather they will
-
not believers then yet, but to continue. Hey, pre believers
-
also can continue. Can abide in God? Amazing, Wow, revel Okay,
-
continue in the grace of God verse forty four.
-
On the next Sabbath, which is the next.
-
Week, almost the whole city came together to hear the
-
word of God amazing verse forty five. But when the
-
Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy and
-
contradicting and blaspheming. They opposed the things spoken by Paul
-
verse forty six. Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said,
-
it was necessary that the word of God should be
-
spoken to you first.
-
But he's talking. They are talking to the Jews.
-
But since you reject it, the judge and judge yourselves
-
unworthy of everlasting life.
-
Behold, we turned to the gentiles verse forty seven.
-
For so the Lord has commanded us that you should
-
be for salvation to the ends of the earth.
-
Was what the age?
-
Now, when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and
-
glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as
-
had been appointed to eternal life believed Amen, Verse forty nine.
-
And the word of the Lord was being spread throughout
-
all the region.
-
Amen.
-
You're talking about missions, right. It's missions month. Hey, it's
-
missions month. We are still a missions month. We are
-
reminded today to continue to abide, to continue in the
-
grace of God in his presence, continue to abide in
-
the true vine.
-
Right.
-
So, yes, okay, next light, So just breaking that down,
-
you can go back and meditate.
-
On this, right.
-
So, just the script from the scripture, we can see
-
that in X chapter thirteen to forty two to forty three.
-
Yes, so the believers, the congregation.
-
Was was hanging out with Paul and Barnabas even after
-
worship service. Okay, right, I guess that time they were
-
they have a lot of timeline, so they were all
-
hanging out, you know, after lunch marketing with Paul and Barnabas.
-
I think, right, so abiding, right, abiding.
-
And then it was at verse forty three, at the
-
second part of verse forty three, where Paul and Barnabas
-
was encouraging the Jews and even the Gentiles to continue, right,
-
continue in the world, in the in.
-
The grace of God. Right.
-
Hence, something might have happened between the continue when Paul
-
asked them to continue and the last the next week
-
when the whole city came. There must be something that
-
had happened. Cannot just suddenly the whole city came. There
-
must be something that was being done in between. Maybe
-
it's not written, but there must be something. I believe,
-
truly believe that it's something so supernatural. Maybe during the
-
abiding time, the continuing of the grace of God, right,
-
the believers probably shared the word of God with people.
-
Hey, did you know last Sunday what happened? What happened?
-
Right?
-
And they they brought the whole city the whole city.
-
Came right, right, Hey, this is something that God is
-
encouraging us to do as well. Okay, yes, And then
-
of course we can read also at the end in
-
verse forty four to forty nine that you know when
-
when the Gentiles heard, hey, salvation is not only for
-
the Jews, but it's also for the Gentiles.
-
Hey, it's also for us.
-
And they were rejoicing and they were they were glorifying
-
the word of God, they were magnifying it. They were
-
saying great things of God's wonderful word, right, and they
-
were so happy. So, hey, did you know that salvation
-
is not just for the Jews, but it's also for us, Yes,
-
for all of us, right, the whole earth, right, for
-
the whole earth.
-
Everyone, never one excluded everyone.
-
Okay, so yes, so yeah, So just just an example
-
of this scripture is so amazing. Think about it. God
-
is working even in our myths even today. Yeah, He's
-
probably giving an answer to some of us who's probably
-
finding an answer or asking God for something.
-
So let this be an answer for you, my brothers
-
and sisters.
-
All right, So just want to share a bit of
-
my story very quickly. So just want to share even
-
today is Missions Missions month.
-
I want to share with us my.
-
Missions feel okay to the every This is my week
-
day picture. Okay, my week day missions feel okay. And
-
I'd like to share this because I want to say
-
that I am not just a full time mom. I'm
-
not just a full time employee, but I am a
-
full time believer and disciple of the law Jesus Christ.
-
I follow Jesus always today, always, Okay.
-
I sing the song every day.
-
I don't just sing the song, but I live it
-
out today always Jesus, I follow you, okay.
-
So let this be our anthem. Every day we wake up.
-
Jesus today, always Jesus, I follow you.
-
Okay.
-
So this is my mission's field every day. The moment
-
I wake up, I open my eyes, I'm already in
-
my missions field.
-
Okay.
-
Firstly with my family. And you can see my mother
-
in law is there. That's Andrew's mom if you're not
-
seeing it seeing her before. So that's Auntie Amy. That's
-
what we call her, Okay, I call her.
-
Mama, all right?
-
And yes, and also in the picture in the middle,
-
we just took this on Friday this week, so Friday's
-
are actually our team that comes to the office. So
-
we celebrated our team manager's birthday. He turns yeah Fourteennine
-
fe Yes, he's probably the oldest among all of us.
-
And you can see the rest of us, they are
-
quite young, yes, okay, right, and yeah he's he's yeah,
-
so we celebrate together. So we we have so I
-
deal with these people. And actually there are a few
-
who couldn't make it to office on Friday. But yeah,
-
so I have these people as my missions feel people, Okay.
-
And they are of different race, they are of different countries,
-
they are of like different beliefs, right, and yeah, we
-
are called to be missionary, so I'm called to be
-
an ambassador.
-
Right. We just came out from missions conference. Right.
-
We are called to be ambassadors to shine his light
-
for God. Right, So yes, I am there right on
-
a weekday. So on the right side, the most right
-
of that picture is now netball.
-
Okay.
-
So the Hasha Olympics, our company have this annual spots
-
they right, so I am. Yeah, practices are starting and
-
our tournament is in October.
-
So we are practicing.
-
So and I always ask God even in that abiding time.
-
That's why it's so important to hear from God, Abiding God,
-
what is it or where you want me to go?
-
Holy Spirit? I want to go where you lead me, right,
-
So I I and for just to share, I have
-
been in this, this this game netball for now three years, okay,
-
but every year it's all different people.
-
They will shuffled the people. Okay.
-
So the people it is always not the same, or
-
sometimes they are the same. So I knew I know
-
some of them, but some of them are new to me.
-
Right.
-
So this was just last week Thursday night or from
-
eight to ten pm netball. Afterward, I'm like, oh God,
-
if this is missions for you, God all the way, God,
-
I'm like, oh, so come back. So anyway, yeah, so
-
this is missions feel for me on a week day, right,
-
And you know that I cannot do all this by
-
my own strength.
-
It is truly the work of the Holy Spirit.
-
And He gives me the strength to do it, just
-
to meet with different ones and in fact, just abiding
-
in the office, okay, continuing in the office every day,
-
just being in that among the same people on a
-
constant basis, people slowly open up to me. In fact, okay,
-
so these among these people, there are more people. Okay,
-
I cannot feel the screen. If not, it will be
-
too much. So there are people that even ask me
-
even in this past week. So just also just to
-
share with you quite we have gone through in our domain. Okay,
-
in our domain, that has been quite a number of
-
deaths that has happened, whether is it among our colleagues
-
or even their close family members. So I've visited a
-
lot of them as well in their you knows, you know,
-
in different things. And one of my clique came to
-
ask me even this week, like, Olivia, what because they
-
know I'm a Christian, they know that I'm a believer
-
of the Lord Jesus Christ. So they asked me, so,
-
what do y'all do as Christians? After after someone passed away,
-
So I had the chance and they asked me, like
-
why do y'all do such things like do you do.
-
Any rituals or anything?
-
So I explained, we believe that if they believe in
-
the Lord Jesus Christ, they will go to heaven. You know,
-
I had the opportunity to share with them about eternal
-
life and the hey, I mean, if I'm not there abiding,
-
who would they ask?
-
How would they know? Right? So even the same.
-
Abiding has a lot of benefits waiting or continuing. I mean,
-
of course, if the Lord leads you otherwise, it's okay,
-
but remember to abide in him and to hear from him, right, Okay,
-
So yeah, just just to share with us that, hey, missions,
-
our missions feel can also be our every day the
-
people that we meet every day in our families as well,
-
in the cliques that we have, right, the people.
-
That we meet every day.
-
Right, and you know that God can use us mightily
-
even in that waiting, even in that continue Sometimes it
-
can feel my day, I can honestly say it can.
-
Be can sometimes feel a bit boring.
-
But I say, Holy Spirit, you show me, you reveal
-
to me, and truly enough, every other day there'll be
-
someone asking me about something.
-
And you know, I carry my Bible to work. I
-
put it on my desk.
-
People who still ask me about my bible, be why
-
or bring your bible?
-
Yes, bring your bible.
-
So yes, you know when we continue and God has
-
a reason for everything, and God will lead us one
-
life at a time. Maybe it's not like the full
-
Gospel at this one time, but you know, slowly because
-
different ones of these people know me and they're amazed
-
at me, like why would.
-
Chinese girl play netball.
-
I don't know, but anyway, just saying I'm just saying right,
-
like like why Olivia, would you come to all this
-
every day?
-
Nobody does that, that's crazy, but yes, but yeah.
-
It's a sacrifice. As why it's worship and to God.
-
It's a sacrifice. And I say, I give it all
-
to Jesus, like, yeah, let's make our everyday omissions feel
-
okays as I also do. But it's not perfect that
-
they are days that are not perfect. They are days
-
that are are conflicts. But I always ask Holy Spirit
-
when I abide in him, I know there is this
-
fruit like we've read just now right, the fruit of the.
-
Spirit, And that becomes real. And when I have.
-
To display humility I have to say sorry to somebody,
-
or I have to forgive somebody, it reveals something.
-
Hey, wow, God, people still forgive people.
-
Like what in you know, who in the world now
-
will humble themselves to do such things like someone will
-
be like the fruit of the spirit, self control, kindness, goodness. Yes,
-
nowadays is very rare to see this. Shall we all,
-
like you know, rise up to this occasion to bear
-
much fruit so that the world may know and glorify
-
God in heaven. But firstly, of course, to abide in God.
-
So important. Okay, So next light, So just a closing,
-
I can invite the extreme rs up as well. So
-
in closing this is this is something I want to
-
live with us. A reminder again, a call to action
-
is to abide in Jesus right in order that we
-
can see all our friends, all our love ones glorify God.
-
It's only in our abiding in God, abiding in the
-
true vine. Okay, So let's continue to remember if you
-
can go to the slide where we talk about the
-
weaving of the hair, right, abiding in Jesus, worship, wait.
-
And walk in the spirit.
-
So this one I want to live with us, and
-
I want to encourage all of us to meditate upon
-
this our word even as we go back even this week. Right,
-
let's meditate. Let's let's see how we can set a
-
time or maybe a place where we can even come
-
to that secret place to be with.
-
God and just to abide. Amen, to come back to
-
God again. Amen. So let's rise to our feet. Amen.
-
I'll let h Extreme to lead us in a song
-
and we'll see how the Holy Spirit will lead us.
-
From here.
