You're listening to a message to go from at church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
Where there is clarity, there will be confidence. This is
-
a statement that X Church was given by the Lord
-
many many years ago. Where there is confidence, there will
-
be courage. If you were a bandager, if you were
-
a boss, if you were a leader, a pastor, and
-
your people that you send out can't complete the past
-
or don't know how to do the task, or don't
-
do the task well, it should go back to the
-
leader and the leader should ask himself was I clear?
-
Because when you give clear instructions, when you give a
-
clear vision, a clear mission, there will be confidence that
-
will come from clarity. And when you have confidence, then
-
you will with courage carry out the task. I realized
-
that people don't have courage because they don't have confidence,
-
and usually they don't have confidence because they don't have clarity. Tea,
-
how many of you have decided that you would go
-
to YouTube to look for instructions for something that you're
-
not clear about. Many of us at RAND that to
-
fix something, you know, UH, to set up something, we
-
go to YouTube. And my wife recently, you know, she
-
was changing our water filter and she thought she remembered
-
how to do it, but because we only changed it
-
once every six months, she forgot. And so she said, hey, Kenneth, come,
-
you know, help me. I said, I I don't know
-
how to do this. You know, I said, Remember we
-
had roles and responsibilities in the house, you know. I
-
pay for the house, you know, and you do the filter.
-
She said, yes, I know, But you know, I thought,
-
I thought, you know, just to ask you. Maybe you remember,
-
I said, no, I'm not paying attention. I'm just drinking
-
the water. And then so both of us went into
-
YouTube because YouTube is very clear. They got video. What
-
what are you looking for? You're looking for clear instructions
-
that can go A B C one two three. And
-
that's how we get confidence to operate something that's very expensive.
-
We get confidence to know how much strength to pull
-
or to push because the video said that's the way
-
it's done. So more of us in this life needs
-
clarity because if we don't have clarity, we will not
-
have confidence. And without confidence, you will not be courageous
-
enough to carry out what you need to do. So
-
I hope you understand that that's why we could plant
-
ex cyber Jaya that many years ago, maybe I think
-
now seventeen years ago about that, right, seventeen years go,
-
sixteen seventy years ago, ex Hiba Jaya. We had confidence
-
and most of them were students, if not just graduated.
-
Why because there was clarity. I know what to do,
-
I know why I'm here in cyber Jaya. I know
-
who I'm trying to reach. So we that clarity comes confidence, confidence, courage. Okay,
-
So I hope I've nailed that pretty well, all right,
-
and I hope you get that clear. So next, Slight says,
-
confidence is powerful because you are able to do things
-
that you didn't even know you could do. Confidence has
-
allowed us to plan a church in the UK. When
-
God first told me the plan a church in London,
-
I was thinking to myself, are you sure? Because usually
-
it's the other way around, right, And all these years,
-
you know, the UK or the US or Australia, you know,
-
you wait for people from there to come to do
-
great things in Malaysia. But for Malaysias to go out
-
and do great things, we go, oh no, no, let
-
the Caucasians do it, Let the whites do it, you know,
-
let those with bigger currency do it. And of course
-
the ring. It is so weak compared to the pounds.
-
That's why it's called pounds, because it's heavy, you know.
-
But when God gives us confidence, there is almost nothing
-
that's impossible for us. So you want to know about
-
confidence a little bit more today, Let's look at the scripture.
-
In the fear of the Lord, there is strong confidence,
-
and his children will have a place of refuge. I
-
like that. The fear of the Lord is important. When
-
you fear God. The Bible says, not only confidence, you
-
will have strong somebody is strong confidence, strong confidence, and
-
his children will have a place of refuge. I like
-
this promise because most of us are afraid that we
-
will fail. But when there's strong confidence, you will have refuge.
-
So he's a promise. When God gives you strong confidence,
-
he also assures you as his children that you will
-
always have a place of refuge. You will be therefore
-
safe when you are given confidence from the Lord. Next scripture,
-
being confident of this very thing, that He who has
-
begun a good work in you will complete it until
-
the day of Jesus Christ. Amen, God has begun a
-
good work in all of us. Do you believe it?
-
All of us? Everyone in this room. God has begun
-
a good work, but he doesn't just begin. He will
-
complete it. So we are all still work in progress.
-
Ah by God will complete and we will be more
-
and more like Jesus. Isn't that our goal to be
-
more like him? So let's talk about the first confidence.
-
I have two parts today, and I want to talk
-
about the first one. First confidence is our Christianity. Sorry,
-
I think there's a little bit of a typo there.
-
All of Christianity, I should say, I should try to
-
correct that. Now, all of Christianity, if you're taking notes,
-
I'm thinking notes to now, all of Christianity is found
-
in one name. It is not found in a denomination.
-
He's not found just in a church or a church building.
-
Is not found just in doctrine or in religious teachings,
-
or in your dressing or in the in the cross
-
you wear around your neck. It is not It's not
-
found in your heritage. Oh my father is a pastor,
-
Oh my grandfather was the bishop. He's not found there.
-
God made it very simple that even children can not
-
only understand, but follow, because it's not in a practice
-
only or a principle only. It's in a person hallelujah,
-
that Christianity is found in a person. You don't just
-
follow a religion, you follow a person. And in him
-
he's found all the authority and all the power and
-
all the salvation that you and I need, all the healing,
-
all the prosperity, all the joy, all the peace. He
-
is the Prince of Peace. It's him a man. Now,
-
let's very quickly read some scripture found in First Corinthians
-
chapter two. I would like to say that this is
-
one of my favorite scriptures. And I told my wife
-
that if I go before her and she, you know,
-
erects a tombstone, that she can put this scripture somewhere
-
in the tombstone. Because the last ten years I've kept
-
going back to this portion of scripture because I keep
-
being reminded by the Holy Spirit that this is an
-
important reminder for me as a servant of God, but
-
also for all of you. Let's read it together, and I, brethren,
-
this is Paul the Apostle writing, when I came to you,
-
did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom,
-
declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determine
-
I underline this whole sentence. I determine not to know
-
anything among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I
-
was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.
-
Can you imagine the apostle Paul being in weakness, in fear,
-
and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching
-
were not with persuade received words of human wisdom, but
-
in demonstration of the spirit and of power, that your
-
faith should not be, should not be in the wisdom
-
of men, but in the power of God. Now, let's
-
talk for a moment, as XTV just switches to the
-
next slide. Let's talk about confidence in a very honest way,
-
right now, Okay, can I be honest? Can we be
-
just real open? Where is our confidence really? You know?
-
I think about talking with people who have left churches
-
and gone to other churches. Right Sometimes they're let in
-
a good way, lead in a god way. And I
-
was also let out of sib k L. Doctor chewing
-
Chi was once upon a time my senior pastor. I
-
went from FGAKL two SIB. I love FGKL and I
-
wouldn't have left, but God says go. And I was
-
offered to be the youth pastor of Sibkl, and I
-
love Sibkl so much. The two pastors, pastor doctor Chewing
-
Chi and his wife, Pasta lie Chu, were so dynamic,
-
so loving. I never wanted to leave Sibkl. And then
-
the Lord says, remember the vision that have given you.
-
So I left Sibkl and started the church with two people.
-
I told the members of that church in Sibkl to
-
the young people, because I was a youth pastor, I said,
-
and I grew the youth group from twelve people to
-
one hundred and twenty in three years, and all glory
-
to God. But I told all the young people you
-
are not allowed to follow me. The last thing I
-
want to do is to break young people's hearts and
-
also to break the church. It's very important to understand this. Okay,
-
the Lord told me, don't do it. Don't allow anyone
-
to follow you. Some of them wonderfullow. I said, no,
-
you are to stay. Only two people follow me, Elder
-
King Yap and another brother called Ryan, who went to
-
start his own church after that. Many were seven years later.
-
And so these two followed me out because they followed
-
me into as ib as well. And so in fact,
-
in fact, when it came to them, or so I
-
told them, you better pray about it. Don't just follow
-
me because you like me. You got to know because
-
church is where God places you. So when I talk
-
to people who have left, okay, not just from X,
-
but from anywhere. Let me just be very honest with you.
-
Sometimes I agree with the way they left or the
-
reason they left. Sometimes I go because when I ask
-
them for the reason, they will tell me this other
-
place I went to. The worship is more alive, the
-
part master is uh more uh practical, Uh his his,
-
he's funny, he connects. The teaching is deeper, right, and
-
so on and so forth. Do you realize, without even
-
thinking too much about it, do you realize that when
-
you say this and that abc whatever the reason is
-
that you have left, you are actually also saying that
-
in these things I put my confidence. Think about it
-
for a moment, because as I go through the slides
-
of you, I just want to remind you today that
-
your confidence and my confidence should be in Jesus, meaning
-
that if He is still here, then so should you.
-
I don't know how how sometimes you sell your church
-
when a friend comes and hey, you know, do you
-
like your church? Of course, I love acts, and if
-
you give all the reasons why you love acts except Jesus,
-
I fear that your confidence is in all the things.
-
Because God can take away things. He can take away lights, sound,
-
he can allow a pandemic to happen, and He took
-
away everything. Some big churches with big sound systems told
-
me there are churches who were like white elephants and
-
they had to reconsider what is it we are building?
-
And now more and more senior paces are telling me
-
we want to be like you. Grow small. You know,
-
they have four thousand people in their church, eight thousand
-
people in the church, and some of them have already
-
Fga is one of those. When I went to speak there,
-
they took me for lunch and the leader said, we
-
want to do what you have done. I think the
-
pandemic has taught us a lesson growing small. Can still
-
grow while in pandemic, but you're not allowed to go
-
into your big building. You understand. We rethink where our
-
confidence is. So even the ex church, I pray that
-
people ask you why you're here. You say, because Jesus
-
is here. He is here, He's alive, and every Sunday
-
when I come, he does something in my heart. He
-
changes my life. You heard the testimony just now right.
-
Our God, our God, his name is Jesus, our God
-
is in the business of transformation, with or without music.
-
Think about it for a moment. Many of us actually
-
like eloquent speakers. I think if he, if he or
-
she came up here and was not at least decently
-
eloquent with his English language, and he just went I,
-
good morning, my name is and I uh I. You know,
-
you think, you think for a moment, because Paul the
-
Apostle is saying that he did not come with eloquence
-
or speech. Paul the Apostle, So I wonder how because
-
because a lot of times we chase after speakers. Also,
-
for many years, I've made it a point not to
-
invite speakers from overseas to come and do our conferences.
-
I made it a point not because I don't like
-
speakers for overseas. I tell you they have been a
-
blessing to us many, many times. But for many years,
-
many many years, Malaysian Church has been so caught up
-
with Caucasian speakers, so caught up with white skinned speakers
-
that means like if you're white, you're right, because they
-
can't with their language. They come with their accent. They come.
-
You know, okay, now I know there's a white brother
-
sitting here, and you go, oh no, no, no, no, no, okay,
-
we're friends. But you know, I had to say it
-
because for years, when I was growing up, I don't
-
know why Malaysians and maybe even Southeast Asians and maybe
-
Asians always look up to the white men. And I
-
tell you, looking up is all right, But when they
-
look up, they look down on themselves. They look down
-
on their national speakers. They look down on speakers that
-
have their own same skin color, and they are the
-
shape of their eyes thing they ding ding bing me.
-
I needn't asshole, no, hello, right, we look down. That's
-
why I'm telling you right now, I've studied it a
-
little bit, not a lot, but I'll study it a
-
little bit. God is allowing revivals to happen outside of
-
white men. Even God is trying to give us a message.
-
You know, where revivals are happening career Africa. It's moving
-
away from the white lane. I'm telling you because for
-
years and years, and it's not that they're wrong, is
-
that that we are having a wrong perspective. So I refuse.
-
I say, what message are we giving to our young
-
people when we always celebrate only one color? And so
-
if we bring them, it's going to be good. If
-
we don't have them, it's not going to be good.
-
If we bring them, the fee will be two hundred
-
ring it if it's you fifty ringid or so, I'm
-
not sure, but I want to pay you with me. Listen, listen,
-
you know that's why I come here so seldom people
-
that just don't invite me back. Speak the truth, and
-
truth will set you free. Are you also with me?
-
Very important? Our young people are looking up. They're trying
-
to catch the message that they're older ones are them,
-
and so we need to celebrate more of our local
-
people so that there when the younger people say, oh hey,
-
that guy that looks like me can speak too wow,
-
he can heal too wow, he can do marvelous things too.
-
God wants to celebrate because out of every tribe, tongue,
-
and nation, we were standing before the Lord. He didn't
-
say we were standing behind a different color. We will
-
all be celebrated, every town, tribe, nation. Are you always me?
-
This is very important? So we've heard about colonization and
-
we say, oh we Merdeka, are we independent? But think
-
about it for a while. So our vers may be
-
independent on the outside but still colonize on the inside.
-
Is the way we see ayway, okay, So I love
-
my white friends. I tell you when I was invited
-
to New Zealand to speak in the conference major conference. Uh,
-
I was invited once and twice and three times and
-
ten years in a row. But the first time I went,
-
I tell you, I was so scared, you know, because
-
I've never seen someone like me on a Caucasian stage.
-
And who was I? Who was I sharing the stage
-
with a guy called Russell Evans, founder of Pleader Shakers, Right,
-
I'm so nervous, you won't believe it. And then I
-
thought to myself, No, I'm gonna try the Australian accent.
-
Maybe they like me more. I'm gonna see whether there's
-
a there's a joke. I can tell that it's more
-
you know, yeah, not so Malaysian. But I tell you
-
what the Lord told me, is it, Kenneth, You're not
-
to copy anybody else, be yourself. They invited you, Kenneth Chin,
-
go up there, and I will use your broken English
-
to heal broken hearts. I'm not giving you excuse. I'm
-
not giving you an excuse that you, oh, don't perfect
-
your english or don't perfect or no, I'm not giving
-
you an excuse to not be excellent. But I'm telling
-
you right now, God can use the lack of eloquence,
-
the lack of academic background. He will still use the
-
poor to put the shamder rich and the weak to
-
pull the shamder the strong or the foolish to put
-
the shamder wise. I also do mean I hope that
-
you are encouraged today, including my dear brother here yea,
-
he loves Malaysia so much. He's here right he's he's here.
-
Where is our confidence? Because I'm telling you right now,
-
if your confidence was just in eloquence, and because the
-
guy has got accent, and because I don't know, I
-
mean sometimes I'm looking at the past us, you know,
-
in different places and different countries. Right now, you know
-
they're really working out. The body is getting bigger, and
-
their shirt is getting tighter, and there's a certain style
-
now skinny jeans. I tell you what, I have not
-
put skinny jeans on because you guys will run away.
-
You'll be speaking by and closing your eyes and say
-
save us Lord. Too much is being revealed. I tried
-
skinny GE's one time. Two of the legs can't even
-
go one into one, okay, jokes aside, I try to
-
put you know, tight shirt on. Really revealed different things.
-
I was very wavy, you know wavy, but you know
-
there's a certain style, and you and I, if you're
-
not careful, can like styles. I see more and more
-
speakers and worship be this way shoes, so you know,
-
because I also watched the videos and somebodys the viewers coming. Oh,
-
the style a style. Turning off all the lights is
-
a style. We keep the lights on because I think
-
that's what heaven is. How many have you expected to
-
go to a heaven it's very dark. Jesus is so bright.
-
The Bible says he there's no need for sun because
-
He will be the sun. So I want to you know,
-
when I put all the lights on, I'm just training
-
all of you for heaven. Now. I'm not putting the
-
other churches down that are using you know, less is best.
-
I'm very careful not to put other churches down because
-
they are all accountable to God themselves, and so are
-
we Maybe they are all beeeing God. Maybe God did
-
say turn off the lights. I don't know, but he
-
didn't tell that to me. And we won't just copy paste,
-
copy paste, copy paste. We must be obedient to his voice, faithful, amen,
-
every Okay? So is your confidence in having no lights?
-
Is your confidence in the sound system, because we both
-
about it, right, confidence in your top guitarist, top drummer
-
where has the drums? Don't even have drums, car horn
-
so you can't even spell it. And she's cart John
-
you know cart Jonathan? You know? Okay. I hope I'm
-
getting to you. So if Paul the Apostle think about
-
this and then I'll move on. Sat here and mumble
-
and stumble, because he said I have no eloquence And
-
what else did the scriptures say? I came I was
-
with you in weakness. No preacher wants to show you
-
you weakness because why would you listen to them? Right?
-
We want to see style, biceps, shoes, nice combed hair, No,
-
maybe a nice chain round the neck. I don't I
-
don't know what what what see Jesus said about join
-
the Baptist He told the people, what did you come
-
out to see? Powerful Jesus is always challenging us. What
-
did you come out to see? But I was with
-
you in weakness, in fear. I wonder how many of
-
you will go up to Apostle Paul and advice say no, no,
-
a possible. You know, don't be afraid. He's telling you
-
he is afraid and in much trembling. Can you imagine
-
a preacher here trembling. That's why they have this big
-
bull pits. They have this big bull pits. I don't
-
know why we don't have it, because big bull bits
-
help cover the fact that your knees are having close fellowship.
-
But he's he's here with much trembling. So how many
-
of us, and this would be my last example, but
-
how many of us we would like stand up and
-
go to the toilet when Apostle Paul is speaking, or
-
scroll your phone not knowing that he is palled the
-
apostle whose letters you are living your life by. But
-
he's a good writer somewhere else, pause it, they say, whoh,
-
his writings are amazing. But his presence, you know, his
-
physical presence. I think he was bald, he shaved and
-
took a vow. I think he was shot. Are you
-
assuming me, Jill yesday when you brought up that he
-
spoke and spoke and spoke and spoke until a young
-
man died, right, I mean just laughing at it. He
-
could have been a boring preacher until young man he
-
fell off the third floor died. I'm joxa side, but
-
you know what I'm saying, he could have been boring.
-
I mean, would you have walked out of apostle Paul. See,
-
the thing is the danger is we can be walking
-
out of the very thing that God is gifting to
-
you just because our confidence is in all other things.
-
So boring doesn't mean God is not there. No where
-
is our confidence. Really, Jesus said to him, I am
-
the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes
-
to the Father except through me. Amen, He's not religion,
-
He's not denomination. Is Jesus? Is he here? Is he here?
-
Those of you who are nil, stay on try us
-
for a few more weeks and tell you why, because
-
you will find that Jesus is real in this place.
-
Jesus is real in this place, and we are following him.
-
So disciple, first, the theme that we have this year
-
is really Jesus first. That's it. Jesus first, in all
-
of our decisions, in all of our lives, in all
-
of our choices, we want to please him. Somebody say, amen, Now,
-
the devil is not afraid of any other name but
-
the name of Jesus. Really, he's not afraid of your doctrine.
-
He's not afraid of your ability to memorize scripture, because
-
some people can memorize but not use it. In fact,
-
the devil himself uses scripture. Matthew, chapter four, What do
-
you say this, what do you say, throw yourself down?
-
Because isn't it written right? Psalm ninety one, verse eleven. Well,
-
the devil didn't quote that. Some I said, like, he
-
didn't quote the actual verse, But he said, didn't the
-
Bible say? Or it is written right that He will
-
give his angels charge over you, to keep you all
-
your ways, and in their hands they shall bear you up.
-
So verse eleven, verse twelve, side by side, in their
-
hands they shall bear you up. Lets you dash your
-
foot against the stone. The devil is using it. And
-
if you didn't know your word, you'll probably be caught.
-
I think there's no one here in this room that
-
knows the Bible more than the devil. Because why he
-
has many, many, many centuries to have memorized it. Were okay,
-
so he's not afraid of which church you belong to
-
if the devil comes, you know, I'm ex church. No,
-
I think he's gonna laugh, ha ha. No, I'm from
-
this church. I'm from this denomination. Do you know who
-
my pastor is? Listen, ladies and gentlemen, before I draw
-
this towards you know the last lap. Your church didn't
-
die for you. Jesus did. Your pastor didn't die for you.
-
Jesus did. Your Bible didn't die for you. Jesus did.
-
Can I go? I can't go on, but you know,
-
for the sake of time, you know you can add
-
into the blanks. Your heritage didn't die for you. Your bishop,
-
bishop pope didn't die for you. If you're not sure,
-
go ask him. Write a letter, Dear Pope, did you
-
die for me? There was only one? Only one. That's
-
why Paul said for I determined not to know anything
-
among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified to me.
-
That is enough. He says, I don't want to know
-
anything else. I don't want to know. You know color
-
and culture, and you know what you do here in
-
this church where you jump when you sit down. You know,
-
I just wanted to know, come out Jesus, because only
-
that name can drive demons out. At the name of Jesus. Philippine,
-
Chapter two, right, verse nine ten eleven. Only at the
-
name of Jesus, every niche shall every time confers that
-
he is Lord, no other name. I think it's x
-
four twelve that says, no other name under Heaven given
-
among men by which we must be every Okay, let's
-
talk about holy communion very quickly. Do you know why
-
we say holy covenient? What did Jesus say twice? He
-
said it within the very word that we use almost
-
every time with the communion, which is found in the
-
First Corinthians, eleven, verse twenty three, threty six. For I
-
received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you.
-
The Lord Jesus, on the same night in which he
-
was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks,
-
he broke it and said, take this in my body,
-
which is broken, for you do this in remembrance of me.
-
That's the first time. In the same manner, he also
-
took the cup after supper, saying this cup is the
-
new covenant in my blood. This do as often as
-
you drink it in remembrance of twice? So why do
-
we do it? Why do we do it in remembrance
-
of me? Is not the rabina, It is not I
-
don't know even what we're eating there, proper dumba or whatever?
-
Is it proper dumber in that in that particular, you know, ah, yeah,
-
nicely cut for you. Some places actually have to say
-
or CHAPARTI you know, yeah, I've been through some places
-
a Chapparti're serving CHAPPARTI oh, I love that. I love that.
-
I just wish the dream was dull goes an, you
-
know what I'm saying. I remember a child, especially its child,
-
saw his mother sick and knew that communion was powerful,
-
went up to the mother and said, mom, take communion.
-
And he bought coca cola because he didn't know better.
-
He was only six years old. Put coca cola into
-
a big cup, not communic big cup and audio biscuit,
-
audio biscuit. I don't mind it for communion, hallelujah. Maybe
-
had pull your and lick for the cream in the middle,
-
And the story was told because the mother was healed
-
within that hour. So is God looking at Rabina or
-
is he looking at No, It's not is the remembering
-
of him? Is the making sure that he comes into
-
that situation, comes into that place, that problem, that pain.
-
Are you all with me? Very very important? I take
-
community every every morning. I took it this morning as well.
-
Every time I'm finish, I'm finished with the Covenian emblems,
-
I will ask Elder Shelley, who's my pa? Elder Shelley,
-
have you met her before? My pa for twenty three years?
-
So you know she puts the thirty thirty days worth
-
of communion into envelope. I take it every day, remember me.
-
But can I ask you one question? Why did Jesus
-
ask you to remember him so often? Why did he
-
think that we will have amnesia? Like you finished today
-
and you go home, you're in your car. I can
-
remember I remember Jill worship leading, because that's the phenomenon. Seriously,
-
I've never seen Jill all these years. She's been from
-
a campus student, no, I am you when she was
-
studying to be a doctor until now she's a mother
-
of three. Two days the only day I took a
-
video and sending my wife, I said, I said, I said, wow.
-
And of course the fact is that there was no
-
worship le there today, so you stepped up to take
-
up that role this season. So what this season? Not
-
just today regularly? Oh and she's quite good at yeah, yeah, yeah,
-
I can see the passion. Yeah Jill, Wow, my word,
-
a woman of many talents. That also means that other
-
people here please rise up to the worship beaters. Come on,
-
come on, you got has to do so many things,
-
you know. Okay, please, if you want to worship me,
-
go meet butza Jack, you tell you what to do? Okay,
-
all right, you just had to wait one year. I
-
was kidding, kidding, well, you Adril is a man. The
-
look that like that just means really in uh Tagalog okay,
-
because you know I have some Filipino blood in me, okay,
-
praise God. So yeah, so so so it's so it's
-
so good to see. But do you think we also
-
remember a doctor? Jill was? She bled? Then we go
-
home and then the next week, Oh yeah, it's about
-
Jesus because we forget No, I don't think so for me,
-
it's every day, right, so there, I forget him yesterday.
-
It's not Let me tell you what I think it
-
is because in my time of recovering from my injury
-
and in this message of where's your confidence? Do you
-
know that we can put our confidence in so many things?
-
But Jesus that he is trying to say to you,
-
I know that sometimes we get it right, sometimes we
-
get wrong. But when you do get it wrong, you
-
take communion and it's like Jesus calling out to you.
-
Remember it's me. Oh no, I like the pastor where
-
he's a great preacher and I'm going to follow. Remember
-
it's me. Oh, I tell you that preaching was so
-
good it changed my life. Oh it is it is?
-
It is that preaching. I need to buy that that
-
that that the message. I need to hang it on
-
my wall, you know, because that message change Jesus. It's me.
-
Oh I think it might be my giving. No, my giving,
-
I give very generously. Is my giving that has made me?
-
It's me. I think in my prayer life, my prayer
-
life has really increased. You know, I'm fasting every week.
-
It must be my twenty one is me. It must
-
be fun. I come from London, you know what I'm saying,
-
And so it's just to poop my friend. I come
-
from this is where it all began. Church of England.
-
You know what I'm saying. You know what I'm saying.
-
Yeah, it's me, but you know I'm I'm.
-
The son of a Bish. It's me, but you know,
-
you know it's I'm from the Catholic background. I'm from
-
the Catholic It's me. Don't you know who I am? Don't.
-
I don't need to know who you are. I need
-
to know who he is. Do you know which Bible
-
school I came from? It's me? Do you know I
-
have a doctorate? It's me because it's very easy to forget.
-
Do you know who stress I go to? It's the
-
Happening Church in Kale. Now it's he is the Alpha, Ed,
-
the beginning Endy, the first ender. It will be him first,
-
it will be him last. When you appear before God,
-
everything is stripped away. You know nothing, no degrees, no denomination, nothing,
-
just you and Jesus. And all you need is Him
-
to get through the pearly gates. Amen. The angels up
-
there don't want to hear anything else. Oh tell me
-
you know the doctrine of justification and give it to
-
me in King's English? You know, And after you've done
-
the doctrine of justification, go into the doctrine of sacntification,
-
and finally the doctrine of glorification. And the man who
-
died on the cross next to Jesus, who had no baptism, nothing,
-
no church membership, nothing, nothing, nothing, And the Angel says,
-
by what right do you have to come into heaven?
-
He says, the man in the middle cross said I
-
could come. Hallelujah, Come on today. I promise you you
-
will be with me in Paradise. All you need is
-
one word from Jesus and you're there. What did the
-
man do at the cross? He just acknowledged the Lord.
-
But he did nothing as far as Christian doctrine is concerned.
-
That you're with me, didn't even go to church, didn't
-
serve the Lord, didn't even give any tides. That doesn't
-
mean that you shouldn't know. Are you also doing me?
-
This is very important? Is Jesus next night. Don't need
-
to remember anything else but him. That's what Communion says
-
to you, number two. Remember it's all about him. Amen,
-
number three, Remember to give him all the glory when
-
you take communion. It's him, it's him, it's him, only
-
him in him. By him, through him, for him says
-
the next flight. Okay, I've got a rush. Now the
-
second confidence. Now that you have the first confidence and
-
is Jesus, and Jesus lives in you, and He is
-
the way truth in life, and no one comes to
-
the Father except through him. I want to give you
-
the second confidence. Is important that you understand this disciple first.
-
The whole essence of discipleship is found in two words.
-
Follow me. Yes, that's the whole essence. Many churches have
-
asked me to come and do a talk with them
-
and speak to them about discipleship abou huddles. And I
-
tell you why because many leaders, including pastors, are actually
-
afraid to use these two words, because, actually, to be
-
honest with you, I was afraid when I first started,
-
because how many of you are confident enough? You know?
-
Like I look at Jack. Now, Jack is under my care.
-
He is one of my huddle members. And I've had
-
the privilege of hurdling him. I say privilege because I
-
look at how God has used it. Amazing and so
-
I'm very proud of Jack, Pastor Jack, very proud of him.
-
And I have twelve men like that. Okay, Elder King,
-
young and so on and so forth. All right, but
-
I have to be bold enough to say Jack, follow me,
-
or in First Corinthians eleven, one imitate me as I
-
imitate Christ. But you know a lot of people love
-
leaders don't dare say that because we don't see our
-
lives as perfect, don't see our lives as inspiring. Nothing.
-
But it doesn't matter, because it doesn't matter what you see.
-
It matters what he sees. And he said, this is
-
the way to do it. You must make disciples. And
-
when you want to make disciples, you have to say, Jack,
-
follow me. I'm not perfect, but follow me. And Jack
-
has to say to someone else, follow me, and then
-
someone else who say, someone else follow me. But many passers,
-
when I speak to them, I said, oh, how do
-
you do, Pastor? I said, the first thing I have
-
to do is Jack, follow me? Is you actually tell
-
a young man to follow you? I said, that's not
-
the full sentence, the full sentence as I follow Christ.
-
I don't promise Jack I'm perfect, but maybe he can
-
also learn from my mistakes, from my weakness. But many
-
pastors who say to me, past I don't even dare
-
say it. And to a older man even worse, because
-
some passers are like maybe in their forties, but they
-
are men in the church at seventy. And yet you
-
still have to if you want a disciples, say to
-
seventy old man, I might not have experience like you
-
in business, in work, or whatever it is, but I
-
follow Christ. And I asked, if you want to be
-
part of a disciple, shape follow me. You don't have
-
to learn from me how to be a dad or
-
how to be a boss, but you can maybe learn
-
from me how to be more like Jesus. Avery. Okay,
-
So this is a second confidence we all must have
-
in a disciple. First theme, you must you must translate
-
the confidence you have in Jesus into what does it
-
mean to you? Aby? Okay, So the next scripture, imitate me,
-
just as I also imitate Christ. You know that. So
-
I got a few more slice left, and I'll pray.
-
What confidence did Paul have to even say imitate me
-
as an inmate Christ? What was his confidence? Because he
-
also had to have a confidence. So I wonder very
-
very quickly, because I don't have time. Accept the Tree.
-
Remember the story accept the Tree where the man who
-
was lame from birth seated at a gate called Beauty
-
the Beautiful Gate. Remember this, Okay, you can go back
-
and read it. Actually retriever was three to four, eleven
-
to twelve. I put some of the portion of the
-
scripture there. He saw Peter and John about to go
-
into the temple ask for alms, and fixing his eyes
-
on him with John, Peter said, look at us. What
-
do you say? What do you say? Look at us?
-
Did he say, look at Jesus. Now there are many
-
times those who are into like, oh, I just follow Jesus,
-
I just follow Jesus will have trouble trying to say
-
to people, look at Us. But that's what Peter said first,
-
because the man who is lame at the Beautiful Gate
-
can see Jesus, and your friends and your colleagues and
-
your schoolmates can see Jesus. So you've got to be
-
confident enough to go to your workplace and say, I
-
am the Jesus in flesh and the Jesus that lives
-
in me that I put my confidence in. I live
-
his life out. That's why it's so important you have
-
a good testimony wherever you work, wherever you go to school, wherever.
-
Even if you're a housewife homemaker, is so because the
-
neighbors are looking. They don't know Jesus. So you gotta
-
be confident to say this is part of God's plan.
-
Because many of us go like, oh, look at us.
-
Should I say look at us? Should I say look
-
at me? Should I say follow me? And you feel
-
a little bit scared. But I'm telling you this is
-
God's plan. Look at us. Now. As the lame man
-
who was healed held on to Peter and John, all
-
the people ran to Okay, I missed the whole part
-
that he was here, and he went into the temple
-
with Peter and John leaping. What praising God? Right? How
-
does the song go walking and leaping and praising God?
-
Walking and leap And that's how that's how we sing
-
the song straight from scripture. Because the man who once
-
couldn't walk, looked at Peter got healed in the name
-
of Jesus. Shortest prayer I've ever heard. So always pray
-
long prayers. That's because I want to heal. Know this
-
guy just said, in the name of Jesus, Christ of
-
Nazru's rise up and walk. Short prayer when Jesus is
-
the center of it all. Short prayer when you are
-
in the center of You know, maybe the prayers get
-
longer because sometimes you are very dependent on our eloquency
-
of prayer. We make it so eloquent that the newcomers
-
who come I don't want to pray because, oh you know,
-
I heard Andrew pray and he was praying Bahasa and Mandarin.
-
How will I ever measure up? I'm kidding. We love Andrew,
-
don't we? Because his brother is Peter? So why does
-
Puzza can pray for ten minutes and it's all kings
-
English and he has got justification in their signification glorification?
-
How am I ever going to measure up? God loves
-
simple prayers, but sometimes we make it so into he
-
he answers eloquent prayers. I ask you in me, look
-
at us? And so this man is holding onto them
-
and they all Now, all the people in the temple
-
are looking at Peter and John right now. Listen, So Peter,
-
when when Peter saw it, he responded to the people
-
men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or
-
why look so intensely at us? I love that in
-
just the short post of scripture, you see two opposites.
-
Number one look at us? Number two, why look at us.
-
Are you're very confusing? Ah, this Christianity very confusing. What
-
do you want to do? Look at you or don't
-
look at you? I want you all to be confident
-
to know there's a time to say, look at me,
-
and then after that give God all the glory. Stop
-
looking at me. He might have started with me, but
-
now they are given you Christ. Follow him and his name,
-
says X three sixteen. So follow him through faith in
-
his name, follow me has made this man strong, whom
-
you see and know he has the faith which comes
-
through him, has given him this perfect soundness in the
-
presence of you all. So the next slight says, the
-
real problem is the real problem is not look at us,
-
but continue to look at us. That's what you and
-
I need to avoid. Hey, we're okay with this. When
-
I came in here first and I started by saying
-
good morning, hello, and all that right, you're looking at me.
-
If you didn't need to look at me, I should
-
be speaking from the back next time. All the preacher
-
should speak on the back and you guys just look
-
at the front, and you know, no, no, listen to me,
-
look at me, all right? But I prayed it after
-
a while as I go on preaching, you are just
-
looking at Christ. Now it happens, you know, it happens
-
because the preacher can shift your attention to Jesus. And
-
after a while, oh, I'm not even I'm not even
-
thinking about Passa anymore. Although I'm looking at him, my
-
thoughts have gone on to the Lord. And then now
-
I'm asking how does this affect me? How does this
-
change me? Do you understand? But you know if a
-
preacher comes and then the whole forty five minutes, one hour,
-
and you still look at him thinking about him. You
-
know his biceps are flexing, and you know, and sorry,
-
but you know what I'm saying, It's still me. It's
-
still me, It's still men there for forty five minutes,
-
you just got the preacher. And that's why when you
-
go out, you speak about the preacher. Did you know?
-
Did you know? Did you know? Did you know? Did
-
you know? Did you know? You must come next time
-
he preaches because it's the preacher. But you should go
-
away after Preacher Finisher is talking about Jesus. Yes, you
-
can say, yeah, the preature was really really he just
-
pointed us to the Lord. My life is changed because
-
not of the preacher, because of the words of eternal
-
life that came from Christ. And now I'm going home
-
wanting to follow him, not follow the preacher, because when
-
we follow a preacher, when the preacher leaves the church,
-
you might leave with him. I pray that when the preacher,
-
that your favorite preacher leaves the church, you are still
-
here because Jesus didn't tell you. So, Jesus is still
-
Once we are confident in Christ, then we will also
-
be confident to be used for Christ. Okay, Andrew, I
-
need your help now. Can you just dig into my
-
bag and there's a there's again, you can bring it
-
to me. Thank you so much. Yeah, just in case
-
cose he's like I can see his nervousness digging into
-
my back. No worry, you will not see things that
-
you shouldn't be seeing. No lipstick in there. Okay, fast
-
one not quick? Why not? All right? I'm just gonna
-
take one out. Let me see which had I want
-
to use. Oh, hold this form? Thank you. I'm all
-
right for now. I'm all right enough. Okay, okay, let
-
me use my my uh oh, I think I want
-
the other one, you know, because I'm gonna shake hand
-
with you, Jack in the bit. Okay, I'm gonna go
-
to a close so so just I want to just
-
give you an illustration. Okay, yellow glove looks like a hand? Here?
-
Can you see? It looks like a hand. Looks like
-
a hand. Everybody looks like a hand. All right? Is
-
it a hand? Sure, I'm gonna try. I'm gonna experiment
-
it on, Pazza, Jack pack, give me a good, warm,
-
firm handshake. Oh, my word is good man. I can
-
feel the pool. Okay, uh, let me try to see,
-
but I can pray for you. Lay hands on you,
-
come near it, near it? Yeah, lay hands on your okay,
-
all right. I don't know why his hand keeps slipping
-
off like some Christians. Do you feel anything any annoying?
-
Going for any heat? Any heat, at least warmth, at
-
least warmth? No? No, my word, but he looks like
-
a hen. Well, let me do something. Question. You work
-
so hard? Turn around, turn around. I'm just gonna try
-
to give you a good my such, just a really
-
good my such because you work so hard. Yeah, okay,
-
stop sliding off like, let's sap. Come on, But do
-
you feel it? Do you feel it feels cooler? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
-
yeah yeah. Sometimes you know, Christians can be coold. Okay,
-
now they're giving you a good my such on the right,
-
let me give you a good mysuch on the left. Jack, okay,
-
all right, oh oh my, can you imagine that my own?
-
That's good. That's good, that's so good. I'll give you
-
a back my such as. Okay, all right, he said
-
that was okay, all right, okay with that, tell me
-
you can do nothing. You might look like a hand.
-
You might look like a Christian, look like one who
-
comes to church every Sunday. The parents are Christian. You
-
come from a good church, good pastor. Listen. Your first
-
confidence is what confidence, confidence in Jesus. Once you get
-
that right now, it's look at me. I want all
-
of you to make sure you understand this, because when
-
we shy away from me, then you don't serve the Lord.
-
But now all I have to have is Jesus in me.
-
But do you see Jesus. You see the glove. When
-
you go to the office, they see the glove. When
-
you go to school, they see the glove. When you
-
go to college, they see the glove. Don't shy away,
-
and see no, don't shy away. Say, God, you have
-
a purpose for the glove. I've got to be confident
-
in the purpose of the glove, because now that the hand,
-
the real power Jesus is in me. Listen, listen to
-
this very powerful statement and maybe actual if you can
-
put up the next light, which is probably the last light.
-
The next light just says this. It looked like the
-
hand but not the hand can do nothing without the hand.
-
But number three can do anything the hand can do.
-
Do you hear that? I can. The glove can now
-
do anything the hand can do. If the hand Jesus
-
can heal, so can the glove. If the hand can bless,
-
so can the glove. I can do all things. Thrue Christ,
-
who strengthens me. I always say with me, don't shy
-
away from this where you are doing this all this,
-
look to Jesus, look at us, get your healing, and
-
then don't look at us everybody. Okay, now Jack, come
-
up here for one last time. Handshake. Oh my work
-
said good? Is it better? Yeah? It is better. Can
-
I lay hands on you? Feel something? Yeah? Okay, you
-
feel something like fail the hand? He felt the hand.
-
I love that he may not have felt a glove
-
because there's no important. You felt the hand you felt Jesus.
-
So when we come up and lay hands on people,
-
they don't need to feel you. They ultimately need to
-
feel the hand. Okay, now last one, all right brother,
-
Oh bah, holy prey, We thank you have would decide
-
must balance? Oh you really want to be a blessing
-
to people. You really want to make a different their lives.
-
Come on, guys, come on, yeah, you're welcome. They hey,
-
pasa that you deserve it. Ah, come on, let's give
-
a puzza jagg ahead and give God a hand. All right.
-
You can't see the hand, but you can feel it
-
as long as Christians are confident to be used by God.
-
Number one is who Jesus want to get Jesus right now,
-
get yourself right. Jesus wants to appear in your classroom,
-
in your office. Don't shy away from it. Don't just
-
pray it. They will see Jesus. Be Jesus, be the
-
Jesus with gloves on. Because they can't see him, they
-
can see you. But they will eventually feel him and
-
receive him and have a good handshake from him, and
-
they will feel they will know it is not you anymore.
-
Look at us, says Peter and John. And then finally,
-
why do you look at us as if we didn't.
-
