You're listening to a message to go from ex church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
Clarity, confidence, courage.
-
Yes, the longer title of this is, with clarity comes confidence,
-
with confidence comes courage. Okay, with clarity comes confidence, with
-
confidence comes courage. This is a phrase where our senior, sorry,
-
our founding senior pastor, pastor Chemist Schin, a reverend chemist Chin.
-
He has shared this two weeks ago. Yeah, two weeks
-
ago when he was here, right, and he emphasized mainly
-
about confidence.
-
Right.
-
If you read back, you're not saying, you'll remember he
-
was talking a lot about confidence, right, doctor Jill last
-
Sunday spoke about believing right, about don't doubt, just believe right.
-
So that's a powerful message as well. We ought to
-
have the message to go so to have us listen again.
-
But yeah, but today we're gonna go deeper. Okay, with
-
clarity comes confidence, and confidence comes courage. When God gave
-
me this word, I'm like, Okay, God, tell me, what
-
do you want to tell your church? So he brought,
-
he gave He reminded me this scripture in the So
-
this is the main scripture Luke, Chapter twenty four, verse
-
thirteen to thirty five. Okay, you can write down in
-
your notes first. This is the main scripture Luke, Chapter
-
twenty four, verse thirteen to thirty five. All right, you
-
can turn to it also after you write your notes.
-
I'm also turning to it. Yeah, it's good to bring
-
your bibles. Yeah, let's continue to bring our physical bibles.
-
Let's be proud about it, because while we have it,
-
let's use it and be proud of it.
-
I still bring my physical Bible to the office.
-
I'll try to say this as much as I can
-
and not be ashamed about it. There are days where
-
I also feel like giving up. But yeah, let's keep going. Right.
-
God hasn't said no.
-
God hasn't said stop the government no no, No one
-
is taken away my Bible yet.
-
So I shall continue to have it.
-
Right. I just just this week, another clique just came back,
-
came to tell me your Bible looks a bit like, uh,
-
I'm tia in Chinese court, so it's like sulta vegi. Okay, yeah,
-
I need to fix my Bible. Yeah, my pre believing
-
friend the clique reminded me again.
-
I'm like, yes, I must remember, they're reminding me. To
-
fix my Bible. Yes, I will do it soon, okay.
-
So okay, but before we get to Luke chapter twenty four,
-
verse thirteen, a little bit of a background, so children,
-
pay attention, okay on the slides. I have wonderful slides
-
for us today. Hopefully you can pay attention. All right,
-
So just the background before verse thirteen of the chapter
-
twenty Luke, chapter twenty four.
-
So what happened was if you.
-
See the title of your bible, right, there's always the
-
title in your.
-
The beginning of the scripture.
-
It is to me, I'm reading the New King James version,
-
chapter twenty four.
-
Verse one before that says he is reasen.
-
So this is the story of when Jesus died and
-
rose again, right, So going back the slight before, right, yes,
-
so yeah, so.
-
We know this is the story. We know our God
-
is alive. Jesus is alive. He's not dead, He's not
-
in the tomb, right, He's alive.
-
He was he So we have this background about Jesus.
-
He was crucified.
-
Now today is the third day, right, yeah, And in
-
verse one it says that now he is on the
-
first day of the week.
-
Right, this is already Sunday. Okay.
-
Now you see these pictures here, all right. So from
-
verse one to twelve, basically it's trying to say, uh,
-
we have Mary Magdalene and some women went to the tomb, okay.
-
And then they were going there to annoying Jesus with
-
spices and oil. Right, okay, this is the third day.
-
His body must be smelling very bad already.
-
Okay. So when they went there early in the morning.
-
As the sun was about to rise, they went there
-
and the tomb was open, and it's empty, okay. And
-
they saw angels okay. So you can see the picture
-
there right, okay. And then they were so shocked they
-
went back home, went back to the disciples and told
-
them what they saw. They saw an empty tomb, and
-
they saw angels, right and speaking to them, some of
-
the disciples like waking up on it and like what
-
are you trying to say? They must be saying like,
-
you must be you must be so sad, you must
-
be having very bad mental health or something, and you
-
are seeing things like you're seeing visions, you're seeing ghals
-
or what you know. So, but some so that's why
-
the there's two this or there's these two disciples, or
-
rather Peter was also running, running to check out for himself.
-
So that's why that picture there, right, They were checking out,
-
like is this true? What Magdalene is trying to say,
-
marry Magdalen was trying to say, right. So yeah, so
-
that's the background of the story.
-
Right.
-
There was an empty tomb. There was some the ladies
-
saw angels, visions of angels, don't know, but they didn't
-
see the body. The body.
-
The tomb is empty. But where is Jesus. Everybody's wondering
-
what happened to Jesus? Right, They were still thinking Jesus
-
still dead? Okay, so this is where we continue on
-
from verse thirteen.
-
All right.
-
The title of the scripture that's there on my Bible,
-
before verse thirteen, it says the road to a Mayas. Okay,
-
let's let's go verse thirteen of chapter twenty four.
-
Now be whole. Two of them or.
-
Two of the disciples, were traveling that same day to
-
a village called a Maayus, which was seven miles from Jerusalem,
-
verse fourteen, and they talked together of all these things
-
which had happened. Yeah, what happened was Jesus died and
-
then the tomb was empty. The lady saw some vision
-
of angels, and then Peter went to the empty tomb
-
and see everything is empty, but Jesus is not there.
-
The body is not there. Okay.
-
They were talking about it, right, So this two oh yeah, sir,
-
that was reading some commentary as well, this too, recognize it.
-
In verse thirteen is two two of them.
-
They didn't say it's a man or a woman disciple,
-
but yeah, most of the pictures are always men. Okay,
-
so just take note, right, it's it's it's not really clear, okay.
-
So that's two disciples. Okay, that's just two disciples, okay.
-
And also it says in verse fourteen, sorry, in verse
-
thirteen that they were heading towards in Mayers from Jerusalem
-
seven miles. Seven miles is about eleven kilometers. That's about
-
the same distance between here and my home in Puchong.
-
So those of us know me, I stay in Puchong.
-
So yes, it's about eleven miles about two hours walk, okay.
-
So if on walk it's two hours, right, it's not, yes,
-
imagine it's two hours okay. So and you can see
-
the next slide that's a map, just to share with
-
us Jerusalem is right on the middle right hand side.
-
There's a small circle there and it's labeled Jerusalem.
-
Okay. And then you can see.
-
A a half circle in blue color. That's the distance
-
from Jerusalem, about eleven km.
-
Okay.
-
So Mayus could be any of those very near the
-
blue blue half circle there, okay, right, Hi, Possibly of
-
E Mayus is the white one called or E Mayu's
-
uh E mayor's quibbe. All right, okay, Right, so there
-
is there is, sorry, there is. You can see that's
-
a pathway right, it's either going towards or I Mayus quibebe, right, okay,
-
all right, Sorry about my pronunciation. Okay, So that's sorry.
-
That's a that's also another I Mayus Nicole police further
-
up west right. It's probably more than eleven more than
-
seven miles already, okay, So possibly not there, all right.
-
So anyway, just to share with you, la, okay. So yeah,
-
so you can see the possible path that these two disciples.
-
Are hating, yeah, hating towards the west. Okay.
-
So let's continue on in verse fifteen from Chapter Luke,
-
Chapter twenty four, Verse fifteen.
-
So it was.
-
While they were conversed while they conversed and reasoned that
-
Jesus himself drew near and went with them verse sixteen,
-
But their eyes were restrained so that they did not
-
know him.
-
Okay, right, just pause the moment.
-
Imagine these two disciples, and all the disciples in fact,
-
and especially these two disciples. They are so down and
-
so sad that their master, whom they love and adored,
-
is gone, right, and the body is even gone right
-
now right. They were so sad, so they were hating,
-
They were hating towards Uh. Yeah, they were sad, and
-
Jesus came. You see in verse fifteen. It's so beautiful
-
that Jesus himself drew near and went with them. Jesus himself,
-
this resurrected Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords.
-
He is so amazing. He conquers in and death. He's
-
victorious already, but a lot of people.
-
Don't know yet. He can just go straight up to
-
heaven and do what he needs to do.
-
Why does he need to bother these two disciples who
-
are so said, I don't know, have you ever bought
-
Have you ever thought about why Jesus is so bothered about?
-
Sometimes about us?
-
Sometimes we feel like Why would Jesus be so bothered
-
about my little trouble? Why would Jesus be so interested
-
to know about my little problem.
-
He's so great. He's so great.
-
Yeah, he's resurrected, He conquered sin and death already.
-
But Jesus himself drew near. I want to bring an
-
encouragement to us this morning that Jesus wants to come
-
near us. He desires to walk with us. He desires
-
to draw near to you and to me, and want
-
to walk with us. Right, Okay, however, the disciples eyes
-
were restrained. Just an encouragement from Matthew chapter eighteen, verse twenty.
-
Know that even when we are sad, when we have
-
lost somebody, when we have lost something, something tragic happened
-
in our lives. Know that Matthew chapter eighteen, verse twenty
-
is very important. For where two or three are gathered
-
together in My name, I am there in their midst.
-
Always know when you are.
-
Very sad, we want to encourage you in the Word
-
of God. It's Kingdom values to always be with somebody
-
that you can share your heart. Don't be alone. Okay,
-
it's very dangerous. Okay, this is the word of God.
-
Matthew chapter eighteen, verse twenty. If you need to write
-
it down, write it down, okay, where two or three
-
are gathered together in my name, I am there in
-
the midst so in order that God, of course in
-
our rooms. Yes, but even more important to be with
-
somebody when in the midst of our sadness or in
-
our difficult times. Good to be with somebody, or at
-
least if you can't connect with somebody. Now, thank God
-
for digitization, we can connect with somebody.
-
Let's do that.
-
Okay, it clear, says this chapter four vers twelve. If
-
you can write, yeah, write in your noseless. This chapter
-
four wards twelve says Ecclesias. This chapter four verse twelve says,
-
though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.
-
And a threefold chord is not quickly broken in the
-
midst of sadness. Don't be alone all the more when
-
we have somebody with us, having another person will be
-
very good.
-
That's what it clearses this chapter four wars twelve.
-
And in this in this situation, the two men, two disciples,
-
were very very sad, and thank God that Jesus came
-
to to be that third card, that third fold that
-
it cannot be broken.
-
Yeah, okay.
-
Hebrews chapter ten, verse twenty five also encourages us that
-
let us not neglect our meeting together as some people do,
-
but encourage one another, especially now that the day of
-
his return is drawing in. There, Jesus is returning soon.
-
Let's gather together. Hey, we have homes. Right, Let's gather
-
together every time our homes neither asks, hey, we are
-
gonna have homes. Let's not neglect that meeting together, because
-
that's where we find our faith to be encouraged again.
-
You know, you never know somebody will bring a word
-
of encouragement to us. Right, and even for prayer service
-
as well, local prayer service every time your home seers say, hey,
-
let's gather for local prayer service together.
-
Let's come together. Let's not neglect a meeting together. Yeah.
-
And I'm so glad that we are all here together today.
-
And I pray that you will find God's Grandma work
-
today here in his house.
-
Amen.
-
Okay, let's continue on verse seventeen of Luke Chapter twenty four.
-
Luke Chapter twenty four, Verse seventeen, and Jesus said to
-
the two disciples, so he came the disciples didn't recognize Jesus,
-
so he was like a stranger to these two disciples.
-
And Jesus said to them, what kind of conversation is
-
this that you have with one another as you walk?
-
And are said verse eighteen. Then the one whose name
-
was clear your Pass. Okay, this is recognized as a man,
-
clear your Pass answered and said to him, are you
-
the only stranger in Jerusalem? And have you not known
-
the things which have which happened? This which happened there
-
in these days?
-
Right? Cleo, pass is saying to this stranger Jesus like, hah,
-
don't you.
-
Know, it's a big thing. It's like head lies. Don't
-
you know what's happening? And Jesus said to them, what things? Hey? Jesus, Hey,
-
this is the the creator of the heavens and the earth.
-
He is the all knowing God. He is all knowing,
-
He is a great God. He is asking this question
-
what things? Is this a question of what Jesus lost
-
memory or something? No, I don't think. So there is
-
a reason why Jesus is asking this question what things.
-
He's probably trying to draw out something within us, right
-
within the disciples. Right continue on verse nineteen so they
-
said to him the things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who
-
was a prophet mighty indeed and word before God and
-
all people Verse twenty and how the chief priests and
-
our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death and crucified.
-
But we were hoping that it was he who was
-
going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this today is
-
the third day since these things happened. Yes, and certain
-
women of our company who arrived at the tomb early
-
astonished us when they did not find his body. They
-
came saying that they had also seen a vision of
-
angels who said he was alive.
-
They didn't believe Verse twenty four.
-
And certain of those who were with us went to
-
the tomb and found it was just as the woman
-
had said, but him they did not see.
-
Right.
-
So the two disciples were very sad, very discouraged for
-
the fact that their master had been crucified.
-
He is Jesus of Nazareth.
-
They didn't even okay, So they said that this Jesus
-
of Nazareth was a prophet, mighty indeed, and word before God.
-
They didn't even say that he was a savior of
-
the world. He was wasn't a messiah at all?
-
He was.
-
They were just saying, yeah, he was a prophet, mighty indeed,
-
word before the Lord.
-
How the chief priests and rulers. Imagine Jesus hearing all
-
this and like.
-
Huh is this all you know about me? It's like,
-
you know, I don't know in my human mind. I'm
-
just thinking imagining, right, imagine, right, But Jesus is so merciful.
-
You know, our God is such a merciful god. He
-
loves us just as we are. We don't need to
-
know everything, but he still loves us. He's so amazing, right,
-
And they were hoping that they are okay, so next night, sorry, right, yes,
-
so Jesus on the cross, yes, so this this is
-
They were very sad because they are their master, this
-
prophet who Jesus of Nazrus, the prophet who was mighty
-
indeed and were you know, the chief priests delivered him
-
and condemned him to death, and he was crucified right
-
in verse twenty one, next light, right, next light. So
-
during those days, right, you know, the Israelites were being
-
occupied by the Romans, right empire, and the Romans was
-
oppressing Israel, right, And what were the Romans oppressing the
-
Israelites was.
-
They were oppressing the Israelites.
-
With heavy taxation, military occupation, political control, and religious interference.
-
Right.
-
And yeah, they were really praying for someone to deliver
-
them out of this Roman oppression, right. And they were
-
hoping that this Jesus of Nazareth would be the one.
-
Right.
-
They had great hopes, but now their hopes were crushed.
-
The news of their master's resurrection seems like idle tales,
-
Like people are just saying things, but they don't see
-
Jesus resurrected. They see they say, oh, Jesus resurrected, but
-
we don't see it. We can't believe it until we
-
see it, right, they just cannot. So they were very sad, right,
-
and now that yeah so yeah, so and now they
-
are they are walking towards They were walking towards EMUs. Okay,
-
they were saying they were actually giving up already for
-
following Jesus. Right, They're like, okay, we just yeah, let
-
go and just go back to our old ways.
-
Yeah, we'll just go back.
-
Maybe they were fishermen, they will go back fishing, or
-
they'll go back to your old career and yeah, and
-
then just bury the story of their following Jesus away
-
because they didn't believe anymore and Jesus died.
-
Yeah, And in fact, they.
-
Were leaving Jerusalem also because they were feared the Jews.
-
The Jews were looking out for people who were following
-
Jesus and they want to arrest them. So they were
-
fearing the Jews. So that's why they were running away.
-
And when they are away from Jerusalem, at least they
-
got some space to talk, right. You know, in Jerusalem
-
they cannot say so loud. But after they walk out
-
of the place where they are, look they are Look,
-
they are wanted.
-
They are there. They can share out.
-
Better, they can express out themselves better, right, Okay, So
-
that's that's why they're coming out of Jerusalem and going
-
back to where they were, Okay. And then verse sixteen,
-
you can also see that their eyes were restrained. They
-
did not know Jesus was there, right, And because they
-
didn't know Jesus was there and the stranger was there,
-
all the more they can talk freely. Right if Jesus
-
was the was the one that if they knew Jesus
-
was the one, they would probably be restricting in the conversation,
-
right right, for example, like, okay, just take for example,
-
if I say Passenger and doctor Jill suddenly come to
-
visit our house.
-
You know we will be all, okay, okay, everything proper.
-
You know, you don't say you don't start screaming and
-
our children, right.
-
All they'll start screaming at our husbands.
-
You know, everything will be proper. Right, or maybe a
-
normal neighbor will come. You know, if it's not, if
-
pass Jet and doctor Jill, this guys is out as
-
someone's we'll say like, right, maybe maybe right, right, So
-
we were like, yeah, so they didn't know that Jesus,
-
I mean the stranger was Jesus.
-
Right, so they could stalk freely.
-
They could just share from their hearts, right, what they
-
were thinking about. Right, let's continue on, right, Oh yes, yes,
-
And our Lord Jesus takes notice of the sorrow and
-
sadness of his disciples, and Jesus he is also afflicted
-
in their afflictions. Right, he shares, he hears, he comes
-
to us, right, this is our Jesus, our Lord Jesus,
-
whome we worship and adore. Amen, right, okay verse yeah,
-
and also in verse nineteen. Know that Jesus asks what
-
things he wants to hear our hearts, right, that's why
-
he asks what things in verse nineteen right. And interestingly
-
that Jesus when he asked this question, he is like
-
he's making light of his suffering because he's already resurrected,
-
like he's gone to the next to thirty, like, wow.
-
He's victorious.
-
He's champion, already champion over since Ittaan and death. And
-
then they are still crying about the suffering. You know,
-
they saw the gory things that he went through, but
-
Jesus is resurrected. This is even better than all the
-
sufferings that he has gone through. And he's like asking
-
what things for example, like if let's say I finished
-
like PMR, like from tree. You know, I'm now already
-
from five. You know, I will say to the firm tree, Ah.
-
Right, is it? It's okay?
-
Nothing all the suffering us small small thing on it
-
right now from five more tougher things.
-
You know, I'm like glorious already. Okay, I'm just saying,
-
I'm just saying, okay.
-
It's like that, like Jesus has already gone the next
-
but they are still talking about the suffering and Jesus
-
asking what things right like? He wants to know and
-
he wants to Yeah. So he, Jesus Christ, made lights
-
of his sufferings in the comparisons with the joy set
-
before him, Jesus and your great suffering, but didn't focus
-
on the pain. He looked forward to the joy of
-
saving us and taught us to stay strong and trust
-
God through our own hard times.
-
Amen.
-
So yes, okay, Let's continue on verse twenty five of
-
chapter twenty for from the Book of Luke Luke, chapter
-
twenty four of US twenty five. Let's continue, then, Jesus
-
said to them, all, foolish ones and slow of heart
-
to believe in all that the prophets have spoken, are
-
not the Christ to have suffered these things and enter
-
and to enter into his glory? Let me read that
-
sentence again, Oh, not the Christ to suff to have
-
suffered these things and to enter into his glory? Verse
-
twenty seven, and beginning at Moses and all the prophets
-
he expounded to them, in all the scriptures and the
-
things concerning himself. Just a reflection God. You know, God
-
expects us to be quick and to truly believe. You
-
see he he he he he. In verse twenty five,
-
Jesus was like you a wa like, I don't know
-
to say scolding or what? Okay, he said, all foolish
-
ones and slow of heart to believe. That means that
-
God is expecting us to be quick to believe, to
-
be you know, don't be slow to believe, quick to.
-
Believe, be quick to believe, like like a child like faith. Right.
-
When a child hears something, he or she believes it
-
like immediately. So that's why.
-
Yeah, you know, but God says that be like this
-
child like faith, quick to believe and be truly believing
-
right in the things that have been shared, right with
-
no doubts, no expecting, no exceptions, no conditions, just.
-
Truly and quickly believe. Right, wow, something something I caught here?
-
Like, hey, God expects us to yeah, believe when when
-
when God says something, believe quickly okay, quickly, And Jesus
-
was very patient. He was patient enough to remind his
-
disciples again, right.
-
I can imagine Jesus.
-
Has probably said this like ten thousand no, no, I'm
-
just as like maybe many times already before he was
-
crucified that he will rise again. Right, he has probably
-
expounded before he did it again. Anyway, It's like he's
-
like repeating himself. Home, leaders and leaders around here, do
-
you feel sometimes very tired repeating yourself?
-
Hey, be encouraged. Jesus also did that. We follow Jesus.
-
Okay, we follow Jesus, and let's do it again, because
-
our Lord Jesus also did it, like he repeated again,
-
and it's okay, right, it's okay, let's do it again.
-
Let's repeat again. Our homies didn't catch the message. Let's
-
do it again. It's okay, all right. We are all
-
in this together. And Jesus also did it together. He
-
was so patient, he.
-
Revealed he expounded again. Right, Our Lord Jesus revealed himself
-
to the decigre pos through the scriptures, something about about
-
going through challenging times and being in at a very downstage,
-
that the word of God is able.
-
To lift us up.
-
I really believe that in times of challenges it's good
-
to always run to the word of God. Right in John, Yeah,
-
and because Jesus Christ himself he is the word of God.
-
John chapter one, verse one to five, and fourteen, it says, yeah,
-
I shall declare it to us. In the beginning was
-
maybe let's read together. Okay, it's good to read the
-
Word of God. Let's read together. Ready, one to treat
-
In the beginning was the Word, and the word was
-
with God. And the Word was God. And he was
-
in the beginning with God. All things were made through him,
-
and without him, nothing was made. That was made in
-
him was life. And the life was the light of men.
-
And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness
-
did not comprehend it verse fourteen. And the Word became flash,
-
and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the
-
glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full.
-
Of grace and truth. Amen.
-
God bless the reading of his word. And Jesus Christ,
-
he is that word.
-
Right.
-
And for those of us who are trying to understand
-
who this God is, our God whom we worship. He
-
is the God, his light. He brings life a man,
-
and he is the Word of God. He and when
-
he comes into your situation, when it comes to into
-
our situation, he brings light, and he brings his word,
-
he brings life, he brings truth.
-
He's the God of full of grace. Amen. Right.
-
So when he came right he expounded the Word of
-
God to the disciples.
-
Right.
-
Yes, so you know our Lord Jesus Christ, he had
-
suffered and entered into his glory, like I mentioned just now.
-
And for those of us going through a suffering and
-
heartbreaking time, take heart. I want to encourage us again.
-
The Word of God wants to encourage us again. Here
-
in Romans chapter eight, verse eighteen, next light right, it's acrfo.
-
I considered that.
-
The sufferings of this present time are not worthy to
-
be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
-
Amen. Amen.
-
This is what Paul wrote to the Romans when Paul
-
was also going through difficult times. That hey, our glory,
-
our glory that will be revealed to us.
-
It's going to be greater than our present suffering.
-
Take heart, my brothers and sisters, while we still have
-
our breath, while we still am not great ridden. This
-
is not the end yet, right. Just want to bring
-
an encouragement against to us. It's not the end yet, right.
-
He is with us a man. James chapter one, verse
-
two to eight says, my brethren, counted all joy when
-
you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of
-
your faith produces patience. But let patients have its perfect work.
-
That you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. That's
-
the reason why we have to go through difficult times,
-
so that something within us can come out of it, right,
-
and something good, whatever that has been deposited for many
-
years already, right, let it come out even through this
-
difficult time.
-
I like this analogy of tea. Who likes to drink tea?
-
I love teas, right, I love teas, write tea bags,
-
tea bags, I love tea in the tea bags, right.
-
And when it's put in hot water, you will see
-
the good thing that is inside. It will come out slowly, yes,
-
but it requires hot water.
-
You put in cold water, I don't know.
-
I don't like yeah, cold rutie, but probably it takes
-
longer for the good things are.
-
The good things will come out faster with hot water.
-
So hot water that's the testing time, right, So yes,
-
so also know that even in the hot water, when
-
we are all in that hot water, remember whatever that
-
has been deposited in our hearts will come out like
-
what James chapter one says. Okay, right, amen, All right,
-
let's continue on Luke Chapter twenty four, Verse twenty eight.
-
Then the disciples drew near to the village now they
-
are in a mayor's really drew near to the village
-
where they were going, and Jesus indicated that he would
-
have gone further right verse twenty nine. But they constrain him.
-
The disciples constrain him, saying, abide with us, for it
-
is towards evening and the day is fast spent. And
-
he went in to stay with them, right, Okay, So
-
if you have that slide that has the picture of
-
the disciples urging Jesus to stay, that'll be great. You
-
don't have a okay, right, so yes, further down, I
-
think it's the next few slides. Yeah, okay, no, okay,
-
and am I it's all right? So so okay, it's fine,
-
all right, So they constrained him. You know, interestingly, that
-
we have a god who loves us so much that
-
when we invite him, he will stay.
-
Right.
-
You don't invite him, he will go further right, Yeah,
-
And if you really want to know, and if you
-
really want to know this god even more, you can
-
invite him. And he's a gentleman, right, he will come
-
and hang out with you if you invite him, right,
-
he our God, doesn't force us his way into our
-
hearts like the dictator.
-
He's a good God. He's a merciful god. Right.
-
And in Revelations chapter three, verse twenty, this is he,
-
This is Jesus, this is our God. Right, this is
-
what he says. Behold, I stand at the gnaw and knock.
-
If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, or
-
rather invites me, I will come into him and dine
-
with him, and he with me. Wow, you get to
-
Marca and with Jesus. Who wants to have a macan
-
with Jesus? Man I of course, first friend said, of
-
course Jesus, right, I mean, who wouldn't like now? Now
-
we have like we have Asians, ammit? Right, oh we
-
have all the leaders of the world.
-
Come.
-
Who if if you've been invited to dine with the president,
-
would you.
-
Would you say yes? You know?
-
Or maybe maybe your favorite your favorite president you know,
-
invites you.
-
Of course you're like you of course say yes, right.
-
But hey, Jesus, the king of kings, he is bigger,
-
He's greater.
-
Than all the kings of the world.
-
He is saying, here, hey, if you invite me, I
-
come right, if you if not then, No, it's all right.
-
I'll just go further.
-
Right Mettia chapter seven, verse seven says us and each
-
chel it will be given to you sick, and you
-
will find knock and it will be open to you.
-
Right are we asking? Are we asking Jesus? Are we
-
seeking Jesus? Or are we seeking somebody or something else?
-
Are we knocking on his door? You know this is
-
a good question to ask ourselves. Okay, yeah, all right,
-
let's continue on Luke chapter twenty four, verse thirty. Now
-
it came to pass, as he sat at the table
-
with them, that he took bread and blessed and broke
-
it and gave it to them verse thirty one. Then
-
their eyes were open, and they knew him, and he
-
vanished from their sight, And they said to one another,
-
did not our hearts burn within us? While he talked
-
with us on the road, and while he opened the
-
scriptures to us versud the tree. So they rose up
-
that very hour and returned to Jesus seven miles to
-
hours walk again, and found the eleven of those who
-
were with them gathered together, saying to the Lord is
-
reason indeed and has appeared to Simon verse thirty five.
-
And they told about the things that had happened on
-
the road and how he was known to them in
-
the breaking of bread. And see the countenance on the
-
picture of these two disciples so different from the one
-
that was earlier.
-
Right, they were like, Wow, we've met the Lord.
-
And you know what, brothers and sisters, friends, just one
-
encounter with the Lord again caused these disciples to you
-
turn back and not return to their always again.
-
With just one encounter with the Lord, when you.
-
Meet him, you know you will, you will like you know,
-
you know, you know when you meet with the Lord,
-
you want to come back to him again. You know,
-
it's just that one encounter, and miracles happens in our hearts, right,
-
Like the disciples, their hearts were burning when Jesus was
-
revealing the scriptures to them, because Jesus himself is the word,
-
right here is the word. Such an encounterspurret them to
-
give up their rest in hey, they were already well.
-
They were also hating. Have you ever tried walking when
-
you're very sad? The journey feels so long, even though
-
it's two hours walk to us, We're like, oh, Lord,
-
it's really.
-
Long enough without being sad, Right, if you're sad.
-
Journey is long, hey, but if you're if you are
-
like happy and you're like excited through our journey's like
-
like five minutes.
-
Day, who like you know, right?
-
Right?
-
And you know what? Okay?
-
So they were so sad traveling to Amos, and they
-
were supposed to rest and return back to Galilee, right,
-
but they they they decided to give up that rest.
-
Don't need anymore. They just need to return back to Jerusalem.
-
And because they met the Lord, they saw the reason Savior,
-
and they besides the ladies like earlier or on re
-
read right, Mary Magdalene saw the angels.
-
Okay, yes, Mary Magdalene saw the angels.
-
But I was reading, I was doing a Bible study,
-
and apparently there were some women who actually saw the
-
reason lot first before these two disciples.
-
But so these two.
-
Disciples suddenly, so they were the first few people that
-
they saw the reason lot physically, like they were.
-
Jesus was with us, and we need to tell the
-
people that Jesus is actually alive.
-
We saw him, we talked with him, and he walked
-
with us, and we march un with him.
-
Right.
-
They were so excited, full of joy, and they walked
-
back seven miles back to Jerusalem, just to encourage the
-
disciples again. And the Lord is alive and reason and
-
no more doubt, no more dispute, no more yeah, no
-
more doubting anymore. Just to conclude three points today. If
-
you want to write notes, these are the notes, okay,
-
to summarize Luke Chapter twenty four. Okay, three points Clarity, confidence,
-
and courage. Just drawing out this really God kingdom principles
-
which was already in the Word of God given to
-
us two thousand years ago. It's a kingdom principle that works,
-
and it's amazing. Let me tell you why. Okay, just
-
drawing out from this scripture. Right, clarity, Our Lord Jesus
-
Christ knew the state of our disciples. Right for all
-
of us who are in this discipleship relationship, do we
-
know the state of the people that we are leading?
-
Right? It's like Jesus, Hey, we want to follow Jesus. Right.
-
We always sing this song and we shall always sing
-
this song.
-
We want to follow Jesus. All right, Hey, let's follow
-
Jesus in this way. Let's know our people, Okay, where
-
they are at? Jesus humbled himself. He humbly came to them.
-
He also asked powerful questions. Even though he knows the
-
answer already, he still asked the question not for his benefit,
-
but for the benefit for those who are graining through
-
the tough time. He asked powerful questions in love. He
-
asked powerful questions in love and patiently revealed scriptures to them. Right,
-
he brought clarity, He brought He brought clarity to the
-
questions that were in the disciples hearts. Right, there were
-
clarity and once clarified with clarity. Second point, confidence with clarity,
-
both the disciples had their hearts on fire. Were not
-
our hearts burning when he was opening the scriptures to us?
-
Their hearts were on fire, changed and convey victored.
-
Their hearts were changed, and like, yeah, that's it.
-
Confidence right when God, When when Jesus was revealing this
-
to the disciples and their vision, their mission, their purpose
-
was realigned again, right, such confidence right because of the
-
clarity was given earlier. And with that confidence they returned.
-
They had courage now. Third point, they returned seven miles
-
back to Jerusalem. They didn't like, oh yeah, whatever we
-
saw Jesus, Okay, let's go back to it.
-
The galany no, no, no, they didn't.
-
They knew the importance of going back to Jerusalem because
-
everyone was seeking the Lord Jesus.
-
What happened to his body? People say his reason?
-
He said to himself, He said to us he is
-
he will rise again on the third day, and he
-
appeared to us.
-
All the more he needs.
-
They need to bring it back to Jerusalem with no
-
more fear of the Jews. Hey, remember we said that,
-
why probably they were they were they were coming out
-
of Jerusalem.
-
They could be afraid of the Jews.
-
But now meeting the Lord, they were no more fear
-
of the Jews.
-
They they weren't afraid.
-
Anymore to go back there because it's such an important
-
message that they are bringing right. No more fear, because
-
they had clarity, they had confidence.
-
Their hearts were burning right.
-
They met with the Lord and they knew that this
-
is it right, and they brought this message. And they
-
had courage to even face the disciples, even if the
-
disciples were to school and they're saying, what you're talking
-
nonsense or what. No, they had courage because something real
-
happened in their hearts. Out of the abundance of their hearts,
-
they were just bursting out their experience.
-
With the Lord.
-
Right, Yeah, this also can be applied. Okay, this, this
-
kingdom principle can also be applied also to those For example,
-
now we were talking about like a discipler towards a disciple, right,
-
how Jesus was discipling. Hey, for those who are being disciples,
-
the disciple can also do the same like clarity, confidence, courage.
-
For example, if you are going through a tough time,
-
you need some clarity. You have some questions about certain things,
-
maybe about the church or something you don't understand. Maybe
-
you are here from another country. You want to understand
-
something about this country. But you are suffering yourself. Please,
-
don't suffer yourself. We are here, Okay.
-
We are a church. We are a church, We are family.
-
We are here. You know, I'm sure you know some
-
of us here. Get to know us. If you do
-
not know, we are happy to get to know you.
-
Right, Clarify, go to raise your hand, right, you need help,
-
Just reach out to your homes leader.
-
If not, you are not in the homes, be part
-
of the homes. Okay.
-
Clarifi glad, clarity, so that you have confidence and courage
-
to do what is right. Okay, right, you do not
-
know where it's homes. The next when his next homes, Oh,
-
we don't know, ask your home leader or he will know. Okay,
-
we will know.
-
Okay.
-
And for those of us who still don't know when
-
his homes download the church calendar. How to get the
-
church calendar? Ask your homes leader. Okay, clarify, clarify, very good,
-
this is kingdom principle. Okay, let's practice it even amongst us, right,
-
And I just want to share testimony, a very quick
-
testimony as well, even this week, you.
-
Know, past the Canada. Actually he he not.
-
Just shared this this kingdom principle two weeks ago, but
-
he has already been sharing even before this.
-
But this this.
-
Because it was brought up again, I felt that this
-
is something that I need to start practicing.
-
Also clarity, confidence and courage.
-
So what happened was even this week, this Friday in fact,
-
so and also maybe before Friday as well, some of
-
my cliques were just talking to me. Hey, they had
-
a lot of questions and they were that there was
-
some complaints about certain process in our team. Then I'm like,
-
because certain exceptions were becoming certain exceptions were becoming normal.
-
Which weren't supposed to be. So there was some complaints.
-
Isn't it like this? Isn't it like that?
-
I'm like, let's get some clarity. I remember the word
-
of God. The word of God sets us free when
-
we apply it. Right, So I remember clarity, confidence, courage. Okay,
-
let's do this. So I got my coliques together. I said, okay,
-
let's clarify with Boss. Okay, what is the way to go?
-
Okay? So I arranged a meeting with Boss and everybody. Okay.
-
Finally on Friday, we sat down and we had a
-
good talk okay, and I thank God for a good boss.
-
And he was very open, and he was very honest
-
and very humble to hear and explain again.
-
Right, and it's good.
-
Right, And we all had the confidence. And those that
-
were in the meeting who had questions was now more
-
confident because the questions was already clarified. And because they
-
had the confidence, I could see in their faces, like
-
eyes were so bright and littered, and they had courage
-
to even to speak up for what is right. Right,
-
if someone in another collique who didn't do what is right,
-
at least we can speak up or maybe escalate or
-
escalate in a good way. So that we can all
-
go together a line to move forward as a team.
-
And I'm so glad that I did it.
-
And you know what, after the meeting, when we came
-
out of the meeting, I was even sharing this.
-
I was so surprised why I shared it, but I
-
was so surprised to share this kingdom principle to that
-
colleague that had complained, now clarified, had confidence and courage.
-
They said, yeah, no, I think I know what to do.
-
I say, good, because with clarity comes confidence, and with
-
confidence come courage.
-
I actually say that all to her.
-
Wow, you can actually apply this in your life at work,
-
in school, anything, even in your home, your relationship with
-
your friends.
-
So important.
-
This is a kingdom principle and it's a you know,
-
I feel it's a truth that can set a lot
-
of people feel like what it did to my colleagues,
-
you really we felt so liberated. We're like, yeah, it's
-
good that we clarify the week and we can move
-
forward in the coming week.
-
So it was such a good time.
-
And I really feel that in everything that we hear
-
the Word of God preach, when we apply it, it's
-
so liberating and it's so like we can move forward right.
-
We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more
