You're listening to a message to go from acts church.
-
We hope this message will light up your tea.
-
Disciples, do and teach is the title this morning. Okay.
-
Our theme this year is still is still a few
-
more months before the end of twenty twenty five, and
-
the theme that we've been you know, living by this
-
year is disciple first, Disciple first.
-
Okay. There's a meaning to that meaning.
-
Discipleship is priority because it's Jesus' last commandment to us,
-
all right, the greatest commission, all right, is disciple first.
-
So and also the meaning of that also goes with
-
be a disciple first, Be a disciple. You know, you
-
want to make disciples, you also need to be a disciple,
-
all right, So ask ourselves that question. Am I a disciple?
-
Am I a disciple of Jesus Christ first and foremost?
-
Right?
-
And also we believe in imitate me as I imitate Christ?
-
All right?
-
That's we've been hearing this message, you know, in the
-
past few weeks. It's not I think pass Kenneth was
-
the one who also mentioned this, uh we it's it's
-
not easy to say something like that, imitate me. Do
-
you dare to do that to your neighbor, imitate me,
-
do you dare right? So it's not about daring, so,
-
but it is Uh, it's instruction, all right. Uh and
-
uh Paul was able to do that, and he's encouraging
-
us to do the same. So I want you all
-
to I want us all to be encouraged that we
-
can do this right, not by our own flesh, definitely,
-
not by not not by our own my, our own idea,
-
but by the Spirit of God, by His presence, by
-
through Jesus Christ. Definitely, let's do it. Imitate me as
-
I imitate Christ. Even though we don't live perfect lives yet,
-
maybe we're not reading the Bible every day yet, maybe
-
we don't even pray much yet. But just taking the
-
step of faith and say I believe this is the
-
word of God.
-
And I receive it into my spirit and.
-
I will obey. Just say, okay, let's do it imitate
-
me as immitate Christ. I'm going to live this out.
-
Even if you just started with that, then let the
-
spirit of God help us get into it. Amen, be disciples.
-
It starts somewhere, all right. It can't always wait for
-
like the perfect disciple. Then oh okay, then let's start
-
doing stuff that will never happen, and then nobody will
-
ever do.
-
Make disciples. Right, It's just like marriage, just like you know.
-
Starting starting the process of marriage, you know in Malaysia.
-
Maybe the Chinese people also, maybe not need Chinese or
-
all kinds. Okay, all right, I would like to say, oh,
-
I need to save up first. I need to buy
-
a house first, get a car first, stable job. Okay,
-
Now I'm ready for marriage. That might never happen. You
-
might not buy the house in time. Then by the
-
time you bought the house, you're fifty years old. Oh
-
now I'm ready for marriage.
-
Like it's too late. The girl has gone married to
-
someone else, you know what I'm saying.
-
So you can't wait always for the perfect situation, all right,
-
although there's practicality in that, of course, have a job.
-
Of course, dream of buying a house, or at least
-
rand the house. You can rant a house. You've got space,
-
you have a roof to you know, take care of
-
your family.
-
You can't buy a car. Okay, at least I've got
-
enough money to do.
-
Grab for a moment a lot, you know, plan, go
-
move nearer to your workplace, whatever it is, right, so
-
you can plan and if you have enough to you know,
-
to survive, to maybe be a blessing to another life,
-
and say, okay, by faith, Lord, show me who I
-
should marry, pray see God by faith.
-
Amen. Same thing with children.
-
You cannot wait until the perfect situation now and you
-
have children. Right, it's all faith. So the same thing
-
with imitate me, as I imitate Christ's faith, say yes, Lord,
-
I will do it. I'm not perfect yet, I'm still
-
you know, a bit like shaky here and there. Right,
-
I still don't look like a disciple, right, But by
-
faith I say it, and I don't.
-
I do it. It's just like h just like work at
-
appointing at you we laughing, okay, they right?
-
Just like also like getting getting fit, you know, wait
-
until all muscles suddenly appear it right, by faith you
-
say yes, I will be a muscle man.
-
By faith, I say I will be fit. You know.
-
Then I'll go to the gym. Then you start going
-
to the gym. Right, So discipleship is you start doing discipleship. Amen,
-
go to the first meeting, meet up you know the
-
leader for the first time. Start somewhere, Amen, tell your
-
neighbor it. Start somewhere, okay, right, don't wait for the
-
perfect situation.
-
I want to tell you one thing here, all right.
-
I want to talk about discipleship for a while here,
-
some more disciple first, So we just want to live
-
out Matthew twenty eight right, eighteen to twenty right. So
-
Jesus came to them, saying, all authority in heaven and
-
on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and
-
make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name
-
of the Father, and of the Son and of the
-
Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have
-
commanded you. And behold, and behold, I am with you
-
always to the end of the age. All right, Okay,
-
we'll get back to the verse data. But I want
-
to say something about you know what we're doing here
-
in church. You know when you join the band, when
-
you're part of the band, all right, a young person
-
joining the band playing the cahn singing, it's it's discipleship,
-
all right, Get ready for that when you join and
-
you serve that discipleship. Why because I want to encourage
-
you know, even the leaders here who are part of
-
you know, you're the seniors, You're the leaders of the team.
-
Think that way. I'm here to do discipleship.
-
So when I'm part of Extreme and a young person
-
is playing and he's not playing right, I'm not saying
-
Anderson didn't play right. But you know, if he makes mistakes,
-
if it's not you know, doing the way that we
-
believe should be done, speak to him, make corrections, say hey,
-
you know should maybe you should not play at this time?
-
All right, I'm talking even about like, uh, you know, hey,
-
you're not smilinger when you play. We're so sad like
-
that when you're paying Oh, I know, I know, you know.
-
I'm just saying I'm not saying him. I'm just saying anyone,
-
anyone on the band, even next week's man, last week's man.
-
I'm just saying we can speak and say, hey, come on,
-
you're singing the song about joy the Lord, and then
-
you know you look quite sad. I mean, of course,
-
in gentleness, speak speak the truth in love, definitely use
-
all the Bible, you know, knowledge that you know, and
-
speak it.
-
All right, that's discipleship. Uh.
-
Even when I'm preaching here, I'm I'm trying to do that.
-
I'm trying to speak into our lives to make disciples yeah,
-
I hope you're not to hurt or offend it. You know,
-
I'm trying not to sound harsh.
-
I'm trying to be gentle. I'm trying to speak it
-
in love. Yeah. Amen. So the same thing, you know,
-
when you're serving an express.
-
So it looks like just making food, making drinks, but
-
it's also disciple ship. Right when the person doesn't come
-
on time, maybe we just keep quiet for one day
-
next week, same thing. Okay, now I give thee more chance.
-
Maybe you know something at home happen whatever? Third time?
-
So many times? Really right there we say there, we
-
asked you nicely, a actually, why do you wish?
-
You know?
-
Can you come a bit earlier? It's got questions or
-
you know sensitive ferent Wait, I'm really serving the lord man,
-
come on?
-
You questioned me? Who? Right?
-
Sometimes it can go that way. Sometimes I used to
-
think that way a lot, like I'm really serving man.
-
Come on.
-
If I'm not here, then you got guitaries or not? Oh,
-
if I'm not here, the foot will be self or not?
-
Right?
-
Well, we sometimes with this to sit around here. That's
-
very of the flesh, that's there was me last time
-
or so?
-
All right? But but of.
-
Course if if we take it rightly, we will say
-
thank you for telling me.
-
I will try to be early next week. Let me try, all.
-
Right, because some adjustments that we need to make wake
-
up a little bit earlier, all right, And this is
-
very sensitive.
-
You know.
-
We asked about dressing. Say you know, hey, why you
-
wear t shirt and come your self?
-
All right?
-
Nothing wrong with it, Nothing wrong with that. Right if
-
you're here first time, second time, you're doing that. But
-
after a while I'll be like, hey, do you have
-
you know, something more formal, something more smart, right, because
-
you know we're here to self the king. Right, you
-
go to the Sultan, you meet President Donald Trump, you'll
-
be dressing up, isn't it.
-
Right? I love it how they welcome Yeah, you know
-
Donald Trump, all the dance and everything.
-
I tell you, it's like worship man. I mean it's
-
like it's like I don't think they worship him. But
-
I'm just saying we do that for a president, just
-
a president, a human of America.
-
What more for Jesus Christ.
-
You should be ready, welcome, dance and everything ready every Sunday,
-
which I am not close to the idea. I say,
-
you know, a few times with our leaders. I say, actually,
-
if we can have a choir here, if we can
-
have a dance team doing, why not we can have
-
a full band, you know, with all the musicians all
-
submitted and united, and say, I'm here to serve, all right,
-
I'm not here to show my you know, just show off,
-
but I'm here to serve the Lord.
-
And and we're all united, why not.
-
It's definitely okay. We're not here just to play a horn.
-
I'm saying that that the church is not here to
-
just just play a few instruments, you know, and sing
-
mediocre levels and stuff. That we are here to give
-
our best to Jesus Christ. Amen, right, right, So just
-
doing some discipleship here, all right.
-
So same thing in.
-
Our homes, in our huddle, right in our small groups wherever.
-
Whatever it is that we do in next church, it's
-
it's disciple first. It's disciple first, okay. And uh, And
-
and I tell you the truth is, actually we we
-
love it.
-
We like it. We want to be disciple, all right.
-
Our flesh may fight it sometimes, but our spirit actually
-
like it. Our spirit loves it because we are made
-
in the image of God. And and and it's God's
-
way because if we are not disciple.
-
What is it if you're not disciples? Were left alone
-
the own thing, go play far away, right, leave me alone.
-
I have my own thing to do. That's what we've
-
been doing so a lot. All these busy parents are Okay,
-
you're gonna go play screen, just watch the TV. There.
-
I got my own thing to do.
-
So but but actually better if I can take my
-
time off, can sit with them, A can stop the
-
screen for a while. Let's play a board game together.
-
Let's go play sports, all right, Daddy will teach you. Ah,
-
but Daddy, I'm so good at basketball already. I don't
-
need you to teacher, no need. I can do better
-
than you, daddy.
-
That's that's what. That's what.
-
The opposite of no note of disciple is no discipleship is, Yeah,
-
you're very good in radiala.
-
Go join the NBA, all right? Uh?
-
Then then and then and then the kids always realize
-
after that, you know, dad plays with them. Okay, I said,
-
I still have something to learn. I know that is
-
not that fit anymore, you know, But and but then
-
he's still taller than me, all right, and there's still
-
something that can teach you. Wisdom, patience, all right and strategy.
-
Amen. So that's the discipleship. And like like I said,
-
we actually like it.
-
We all actually need it, and we know we feel
-
not nourished when we take it.
-
Amen. Everyone.
-
Okay, those that are back and hear me because the
-
speaker I don't know how far travels. Okay, it's all good,
-
all right, Okay, alright, let's get into this some more.
-
All right.
-
So just now that verse a, right, make disciples, and
-
then what teaching is there? So I said earlier disciples,
-
do and teach, do and teach. You can't just do,
-
all right, you can't just be doing stuff. Uh, make
-
disciples of all nations, baptizing them, doing activities. But we
-
need to each Okay. So this is this morning's message,
-
all right. I drew it from Jeremiah fifteen.
-
Right.
-
I don't think I really shared Jeremiah fourteen with you
-
all yet, I've been doing it in so many it
-
and I went to clang and then by now I'm thinking, now, mind,
-
I'll just do Jeremiah fifteen, okay, and maybe take a
-
little bit of Jeremiah fourteen to give you some summary.
-
All right.
-
Basically, Jeremiah fourteen is about you know, determination, God was
-
determined to bring punishment. Jeremiah was told by God not
-
to pray, but he still prayed. He was determined, you know.
-
And then the people who were so determined to go
-
against God. So the question was, what is your determination
-
for Jeremiah fourteen. But now I'm just gonna go into
-
Jeremiah fifteen, okay, and let's read the beginning of it,
-
just to get an idea Verse one to three. Okay,
-
Jeremiah fifteen, one to three, it's on the screen as well. Hey,
-
Then the Lord said to me, though Moses and Samuel
-
stood before me, yet my heart will not turn.
-
Toward these people.
-
Okay, God speaking, send them out of my sight and
-
let them go. And when they ask you, where shall
-
we go, you shall say to them, thus says the Lord.
-
Next light, those.
-
Who are for pestilence to pestilence, those who are for
-
the sword to the sword, those who are for famine
-
to famine, and those who are for captivity to captivity.
-
In the next light, I will point over them four
-
kinds of destroyers, declares the Lord. The sword to kill,
-
the dogs to tear, and the birds of the air
-
and the beasts of the earth to devour and destroy.
-
Wow. Okay, so what is this about?
-
Basically, God is really so upset already, and he's been
-
waiting very long and he's been patient for long enough.
-
And so you will see, you see, at this point,
-
God is expressing that enough is enough. I'm going to
-
give it to them, all right, They're going to get
-
the spank right, uh and uh we see her. You know,
-
God gives a lot of time. If you look at
-
how long this has been, you will see the years
-
has gone by, and warnings that have come, and you know,
-
God has been giving them warnings and chance after chance,
-
and so now at this point God is saying, no,
-
I've really given so much chance and time.
-
Now they need this. And even if you look at
-
it again later, even when he.
-
Says all this and it sounds very strong, right, he
-
will still say, okay, you know at the end, I
-
still want.
-
To restore them. You know, God has never gone into
-
like a punish and I destroy and wipe them out totally.
-
Yeah gone.
-
You know, even if even Noah right, there was a
-
boat right. So but he you know, but God is
-
expressing how how upset he is. He wants to you know,
-
he wants to send pestilence he wants to. He's saying,
-
you know, if they will be sent to pestilence, to
-
the sword, all right, to what else before.
-
It slight before XTV Verse two, verse two. Okay, So.
-
Pestilence, sword, famine, and captivity. Right, So these are the
-
four ways he's saying, These are the four ways they
-
are going to and right, either pestidens in sickness, either
-
someone is going to come and attack them sword, or you're
-
not gonna if youre enough food or water, and or
-
you'll be captured and you'll be tortured there. So this,
-
you know, it shows how angry God is by now
-
and all sad? Okay, And then the next slide, verset three,
-
you will see saying, you know, when they die, what
-
happens when they die? The sword to kill and then
-
the dogs to tear means after they're dead, the dogs
-
will coming tear them apart, and then what else? And
-
then the bursts of the air will come in eat them.
-
Meaning I think I mentioned this before. There's no proper burial,
-
all right, there's no proper funeral.
-
There's no you know, what do you call it? The
-
eu logy? Oh?
-
You know, this guy was good and all these things
-
like that. So it's just your body is left there
-
to be taken. So this shows how horrible the death
-
they will go through. All right, just want to to
-
paint a picture of how how much anger you know,
-
it has cost the Lord. And it talks about Moses
-
and Samuel, because Moses and Samuel, you know, they are
-
people of intercession, and when they interceded, they managed to
-
save people. You know, I think just show us in
-
Psalm ninety nine was six to eight should be on
-
the slide as well. Okay, Moses and Aaron who were
-
among his priests. Samuel also was among those who called
-
upon his name. They called to the Lord, and he
-
answered them. In the pillar of the cloud, he spoke
-
to them. They kept his testimonies and the statute that
-
he gave them. Oh, Lord, our God, you answered them.
-
You were forgiving God to them. But an avenger of
-
their wrongdoings shows here. You know, Moses and Samuel into interceding, praying,
-
and God hurt them and forgave the people. So it's important,
-
right we can stand in the gap for people, we
-
can we can pray for on behalf of people, all right,
-
But to a certain point. Like I said before, you
-
can't you can't keep relying on someone else's faith. We
-
got to have our own faith, all right. I call
-
it piggyback faith. Can't piggyback on your daddy so long
-
after you you know, you're supposed to be bigger, stronger
-
on your own have your own faith.
-
Yeah, and uh.
-
Now so so the title I put, sorry, the sub
-
point there I put was where did I put disciples
-
versus death? Dogs that have dogs devoured and destroyed. So
-
if you if we don't take up discipleship, it ultimately
-
leads to this. You know, it creates anger towards God
-
because it leads to sin, It leads to iniquities. It
-
leads to this obedience. You know, if you've heard me
-
long enough talking about Jeremiah, God always says, Jeremiah, speak
-
to them, tell them, although they will not listen to
-
you because they are so stubborn already. And so it
-
leads to this, to this. If there's no discipleship, it
-
leads to death, it leads to I just put it
-
all the dealer. It leads to a horrible this honor
-
even when you know it comes to the end, destruction
-
and It's not just destruction for you as an individual,
-
it's also destruction for the people around us. You know,
-
when we are not believers, when we don't believe, when
-
we don't have faith, people around us will be even worse.
-
So we need people who will lead the way and
-
so that others will be able to follow and be
-
inspired by a life of testimony, a life that loves Jesus,
-
a life of you know that has peace. If you
-
represent Jesus Christ in your workplace, in your family, you
-
shine a light in the darkness.
-
Amen.
-
So I want to encourage all of us here continue
-
to be disciples and not the other way. Okay, Next one,
-
Next one, Jeremiah for.
-
Jeremiah fifteen, verse four. This is the one that you
-
know you saw.
-
The other slide says disciples versus dependents, Disciples versus dependents.
-
We want to make disciples not dependent. You know, a
-
dependent means depending on someone else's faith. A dependent means
-
I can't pray.
-
On my own.
-
I need someone else to pray for me. Right, That's okay,
-
Like we need that sometimes for a while. But I
-
want to encourage you to be a disciple that knows
-
how to pray in situations so that you can pray
-
for someone because so many other so many more people
-
need to be prayed for, so many more people need
-
to hear the word of life. All right, I can't
-
speak to you here, but I can't go into your office.
-
I shouldn't want to go into your office. Okay. I
-
got enough things to do on a weekday. Right. I
-
have my own job to do as well. But you
-
are there, and the people around you there need to
-
hear the word of God.
-
They need to hear life. They need to hear your testimony.
-
Amen.
-
I can't go into your school, right, the gods will
-
stop me.
-
Who are you?
-
Oh, I'm the pastor of the per can I right, No,
-
I have no license to go in there. So you
-
are there. You are the beacon of light there, amen, hallelujah.
-
So be a disciple so that you can shine in
-
the darkness in those areas you are part of. Yeah,
-
because if it's always dependent, then you won't shine there.
-
All right.
-
You're waiting for the person in the church to shine.
-
Then okay, good, I got my you know, my feeding
-
for the weekend.
-
I'll go out now.
-
But you should be the pastor in your workplace. People
-
should come to you and call you a pastor? Can
-
you counsel me? I'm going through something right now with
-
my family, Right, I don't have to be called pastor.
-
But you know, sometimes people see you talk so much
-
like that, then they'll call you pastor.
-
Right, It's fine, okay, all right? Or brother brother brother
-
is a very Christian word, okay. Anyway, yeah, So now, okay,
-
let's read. Let's read, okay, Uh.
-
Jeremiah fifteen four says, and I will make them a
-
horror to all the kingdoms of the earth because of
-
what Mana say, the son of Hezekiah, king of Judah,
-
did in Jerusalem. So a name has been brought up here,
-
two names. In fact, Mana say the son of Hezekiah.
-
Who are these people? Why are their names brought up?
-
Okay? So yeah, they are getting punished.
-
They're getting the death and dogs and devouring and what else,
-
destruction destroy because of.
-
This guy.
-
A name, right, no one else, there's no there's not
-
three four names.
-
This this this, this is this guy.
-
I'll tell you, so we'd better know what happened to
-
this guy first, all right, So right, I'm going to
-
talk about Hezekiah for his father, his father's what's going
-
on with Hezekiah? What happened to him? So Hezekiah was
-
known actually as a good king. He was known as
-
good king, right, right, He trusted the Lord. He held
-
on to God. Right, he obeyed the Lord's command. He
-
sought the Lord through the man of God Isaiah.
-
All right.
-
He prayed to the Lord for help, and the Lord
-
delivered him. That was his testimony, is the Lord delivered
-
them from the Assyrians. The Lord, you know, cost one
-
hundred and eighty five thousand Assyrians to drop dead, and
-
then they got victory. This is his testimony. His story
-
so powerful, you know. And then one time Hezekiah became sick.
-
When he became sick, he prayed, he prayed, and God
-
actually gave him fifteen extra years to live. What a
-
powerful testimony. Right, he didn't die. He was supposed to die,
-
I think like at that time, but fifteen years extra okay,
-
But however, what's the story. However, towards the end, baby
-
on another you know, enemy came to visit They came
-
hearing that he was sick. Very nice they came to
-
visit him. When they visited him, you know, and actually
-
they are the enemy. What happened was Hezekiah showed them
-
all his treasure, all his artillery, all the stuff in
-
his kingdom.
-
He showed them.
-
I don't know why. It was a foolish thing to do.
-
It was a foolish thing to do because you're a kingdom.
-
They're a kingdom to come. They're not your friends yet.
-
I don't know, you know, whether he was that close
-
to them, but he showed them. And why it was
-
foolish because the prophet Isaiah actually rebuked him.
-
Isaiah rebuked him.
-
Okay, but you know when Isaiah rebuilt him, he didn't like,
-
he wasn't sorry. He said, oh, it's a good thing,
-
you said, you know, and say and he says something like,
-
you know, it's okay. As strong as I have peace,
-
my kingdom has peace during my time, all is good.
-
Meaning he's saying, I don't care what happens with my
-
children's time because I'm not around to see it anymore.
-
So all the best to them, right, And that's how
-
we sometimes think as well. I don't model they all
-
deal with their own issues.
-
I have my time. I enjoy it really good.
-
I got peace, and when I go to the grave,
-
I won't see it anymore, you guys, you know, good
-
luck something like that.
-
Right, that's what he's saying.
-
Let's read a little bit in Second King's twenty fifty twenty,
-
Chapter twenty was fifteen to nineteen.
-
Why because you want to see how you know what
-
he did? All right? So what have they seen in
-
your house? Okay?
-
I think it is Isaiah? And Isekiah answered, they have
-
seen all that is in my house. There is nothing
-
in my storehouses that I did not show them. Well,
-
show even the stock. You know why you have to
-
show that. I think it's a little bit of pride,
-
like I am awesome. See I kept everything, you know,
-
everything so organized? Yeah, okay, showing them. And then he says,
-
Then Isaiah said to Heskiah, hear the word of the Lord. Behold,
-
the days are coming when all that is in your house,
-
and that and that which your fathers have stought up
-
till this day, shall be carried to babylawn. Nothing shall
-
be left, says the Lord. And then and some of
-
your own sons, remember Mana, say we mentioned just now.
-
Some of your own sons who will come from you,
-
whom you will father, shall be taken away, and they
-
shall be eunuchs or you know what a eunuch isn't okay?
-
Means can I have children really removed the you know,
-
the organ okay? In the palace of the King of Babylon.
-
Then has a guy has said to Isaiah, the word
-
of the Lord that you have spoken is good for
-
He thought, why not if there will be peace and security.
-
In my days? Exactly that right? Okay?
-
So the word is he was shortsighted. He only looked
-
at his own time, but it didn't bother about the next.
-
So that's why a message this morning, I said, disciples,
-
do and teach, because we don't just care about our time.
-
We care about our future generation. We care about our children.
-
Even if you.
-
Don't have children, you should care about the people who
-
are coming after. And you know, we've been hearing a
-
lot of things lately in Malaysia itself, and I think
-
everywhere else is also. I'm sure there's some crazy stuff
-
going on, all right. That's the incidents happening in the school,
-
right and and you see that's one thing that's already
-
so horrible, right, the boy who stabbed the girl in
-
the school, and not just once, but many many times.
-
So something is not right there. But you know what's
-
even worse, it's the response after. Now we're hearing of
-
children using that incident to threaten their friends and saying, hey,
-
you know, like I heard about a boy speaking to
-
a girl saying, if you don't do this for me,
-
I will do worse than what happened in that school
-
course was going on, right, Obviously, our young people they
-
need guidance. The young people, they need God's word. Without
-
God's word, they're going to go crazy like this. But
-
they're hearing other words. They had hearing a lot of
-
social media words and some of you you know, if
-
you read the report, the boy has been you know,
-
influenced by a lot of things that he watches or
-
plays and he can't differentiate reality, you know and game world.
-
All right, yeah, I mean I've been talking to some
-
of our own young people in the school as well,
-
and and they're not I wouldn't say it's like fully
-
safe the way they think at this moment as well.
-
I'm like, I've got work to do, man, I got
-
work to do, all right, and so thank god I'm there.
-
So I'm educating them, right, I know, we're a Christian school.
-
Victory academy. But I told the management, and so I say,
-
doesn't mean it's all good, man. We better be teaching them,
-
we better be speaking into them their lives because this
-
other influence is also very strong still and they're all
-
exposed to it.
-
Yeah.
-
So yeah, we can't just think of our own generation.
-
Is the next, the next need us, the next need us?
-
You know, in the leadership we've been talking and saying,
-
you know, the Book of Esther, it's called the Book
-
of Esther, but actually Mordecai was the man in the book.
-
He was the real, the real influence guy. You know,
-
he's the he's the leader there and he guided Esther
-
and it should have been called the Book of Mordecai,
-
but he didn't take.
-
Credit for it.
-
Esther because she became Queen Esther from Mordecai's guidance, from
-
Mordecai's discipleship and leadership. So that's why all of us here,
-
you know, we need to be more thecais to the
-
young people around us, and some of us are like Esther,
-
you know still you know you're the young person and
-
then you need a Mordecai in your life.
-
Yeah, a man. We need each other.
-
We need to work together, and we need to help
-
our society, our community, all right, so that it doesn't
-
go any worse than what it is now, amen, Harley Leuyer,
-
Praise the Lord. Okay, And now I want to talk
-
about Mana say, man I say, all right? So what
-
man I say?
-
Now? So MANA say, there's another slight there I put there?
-
Right, Disciples versus despicable despicable? Me what that title? I
-
tell you For the longest time we're all watching like
-
nothing like that. But the word is actually a very
-
horrible word, right, It actually is the same meaning as disgusting,
-
doing disgusting stuff. Despicable evil is the word doing evil stuff.
-
So watch what your kids are watching, right. They're trying
-
to make it normal.
-
I'm despicable, I'm despicable, Okay, don't I'm a minion. Looks
-
very cute the thing, but no, please, they're trying to
-
normalize evil, normalize negative bad. You know, crime doing bad
-
is good? Now, like you know the guy is actually
-
a bad guy, but he's good. It's confusing, right, I Mean,
-
it's funny lot the show, but educate after you watch,
-
you know, you know what they're trying to do, right,
-
her brainwash. You talk talk a bit, talk a bit,
-
and they'll be like, what, just a cartoon, you know that?
-
But yeah, that's how they do it. They make it
-
look like a cartoon. They don't make it all out
-
right for you. It's so scary of course, you wouldn't
-
even want to look at it, but they make it cute.
-
Then okay, acceptable, Then it gets into your mind, to
-
your system.
-
Okay, all right. So anyway, MANA say, what's might I say?
-
All right?
-
So because of what has a guy had, not caring
-
about his future, this is what we get, a mana say,
-
And mana say, you know, okay, I need to read
-
the Bible for you, because this it tells us exactly
-
how horrible, how despicable it is.
-
Okay, all right, let's read it.
-
And he did what was evil in the sight of
-
the Lord, according to the despicable practices of the nations
-
whom the Lord drove out before the people of Israel.
-
For he rebuilt the high places that Hazekayah, his father
-
had destroyed. His father destroyed the idols, He built it back. Right,
-
how come he didn't learn that from his dad? It
-
totally didn't get anything, right, Ei did that or he
-
just rebelled.
-
I don't know, right.
-
And and he erected altars of bail and made an asherah.
-
As ahelp.
-
King of Israel had done and worshiped all the hosts
-
of heaven, and hosts of heaven means is other gods right,
-
and served them, okay. And he built altars in the
-
House of the Lord, in the House of the Law,
-
in the temple itself, of which the Lord had said
-
in Jerusalem, will I put my name. And he built
-
altars for all the hosts of heaven. These are not angels.
-
And these are at the the eighties in the two
-
courts of the House of the Lord. He's not only
-
the altars outside. He brings them into the church and
-
now built all the altars inside the church instead. So
-
this is how twisted this guy has gone right. Next,
-
and he burned his son. He burned his own son
-
as an offering. And this was despicable already to God right.
-
And used fortune telling and omens, and dealt with mediums
-
and with necromancers. He did much evil in the sight
-
of the Lord, provoking him to anger. This was years ago,
-
all right, And it has led now to Jeremiah saying
-
this is you know how angry, angry I have been
-
from there until now, all right, And the carved image
-
of Asherah that.
-
He had made.
-
He sat in the house of which the Lord said
-
to David and to Solomon his son, in this house
-
and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all
-
the tribes of Israel, I will.
-
Put my name forever. He's so daring.
-
And then finally, moreover, Manasei shed very much, very much
-
innocent blood. He killed many, many people, all right, perhaps
-
for no reason, or so till he had filled Jerusalem
-
from one end to the other. Can you imagine that?
-
How big is Jerusalem from one end to the other
-
is filled with blood of the innocent? Besides the sin
-
that he had made Judah to sin, so that they
-
did what was evil in the sight of the law.
-
So this part here, wait before that, this part here,
-
he says.
-
Is Judah.
-
He made Judah's sin. Okay, he made Juda Juda. Judah
-
is a group of people, Siah. What he what Mana said,
-
did not only was he himself evil, He caused other
-
people to sin. Can you imagine that? So I want
-
I want to just past it forward and talk about
-
this for a while. You know, some of us here
-
we had a pass and what we did before we
-
might have influenced some others to join in and sin.
-
All right, And now that we became believers of Jesus
-
Christ and hopefully have turned from our wicked ways and
-
want to live righteous lives, the person we affected to sin,
-
the effect is still there, the consequence is still there,
-
and they.
-
Might be affecting others still.
-
So I want to tell us here what we do
-
really affects the things around us. Yeah, so many times
-
we say I'm sinning, I'm doing my stuff here is
-
for It's just me, you know, I'm just sitting my
-
own I'm you know, it's all all. All the sin
-
is contained within me. We think that way, but I'm
-
telling you it's not like that. It goes around. It
-
is passed on to others, and others are affected by
-
it and they continue in that darkness. And then once
-
we got saved, fine, we're happy, we got saved, we
-
found Jesus. But then how about those guys we affected
-
some time ago. I think we can think about that
-
and go like, maybe go back to that guy and
-
go like, hey, you know, that's why I let you
-
to go, you know, drugs and smoking and pornography or whatever.
-
I want to tell you, I'm so sorry. Maybe you shouldn't,
-
you should stop doing it. If it was me who
-
affected you, I want to tell you it's not good.
-
Trilah. I don't know.
-
I'm just saying because it affected so many people that
-
even when Manas say now now go to the next one,
-
go to the next one. Yeah, it's interesting. And when
-
he was distressed, Manasa actually turned back to God. In
-
all his evil, he managed to turn back to God
-
by God's grace. When he was in distress, he entreated
-
the favor of the Lord his God and humbled himself.
-
Everyone say humbled himself.
-
He humbled himself greatly before the God of his father's
-
He prayed to God, and God was moved. See you
-
see how merciful God is, no matter how much he
-
has done. God was moved by his prayer, by his entreaty,
-
and his health his plea, and brought him again to
-
Jerusalem into his kingdom. God brought him back, saved him.
-
Then Manase knew that the Lord was God. He was
-
so good, and so Manase got saved. But you see
-
in Jeremiah. God still brought up his name.
-
Yeah, and Mana say he got saying but you know,
-
man is manasilah is Mana said problem, He's still got blame.
-
So I heard someone say if when you go to heaven, right,
-
you will see one guy who is a very embarrassed face.
-
And my likely is Mana say someone actually just funnily
-
said that, you know, because it'll be like, yeah, I
-
got saved, I made it to heaven, you know, but yeah,
-
you heard about what happened.
-
Right.
-
Still, things still went on, got people got punished because
-
of me. Still Yeah, sorry, sorry, maybe I don't know
-
all right, but yeah, so I wanna I want to
-
I want to encourage us.
-
I want to challenge us.
-
All right, don't just think what you do is just
-
within your own thing.
-
It will affect someone else.
-
Someone else is following you, all right, someone else is
-
affected by you.
-
Okay, all right, let's move on. Let's move on.
-
Now, Okay, finally let's go to Okay, the next point
-
I want to talk about is this, Disciples do and teach,
-
Disciples do and teach.
-
Okay, I'm gonna read Jeremiah.
-
Chapter fifteen, verse fifteen to twenty one. So it says, here,
-
oh Lord you know, remember me, and visit me and
-
take vengeance for me on my on my persecutors, and
-
your fourbearans take me not away. Know that for your sake,
-
I bear reproach your word. Your words were found and
-
I ate them. Okay, So so sorry, I tell I
-
missed one thing. What the question is?
-
What is?
-
Because the point was disciples do and teach? Right, But
-
the question is what do disciples do?
-
What? What should disciples do? Okay?
-
So I'm going to draw from this last few verses
-
about what do disciples do?
-
Okay? So back to that. Yeah, thank you James.
-
All right, your words were found and I ate them,
-
and your words became to me a joy and the
-
and the delight of my heart, for I am called
-
by your name, Oh Lord, God of Host. Pause there,
-
all right, pause there, right, So what do disciples do?
-
First thing, find God's word. Your words were found, and
-
eat God's word, and I ate them. I enjoyed it.
-
I it was delicious to me. Your your words became
-
to me a joy, delight in God's word. Seek God's word,
-
read God's word, eats it, consume God's word. That is
-
what disciples do what do disciples do? It says disciples
-
do and teach the disciples. First thing you need to
-
do is to find God's word, eat it, consume it,
-
have God's word in your life. If you don't have
-
God's word in your life, everything else will go. Hey,
-
WHI you know that we all know that. I know
-
that we've not been reading the Bible. We don't understand
-
what God's word says. We're deciding based on don't know,
-
somebody's word, my.
-
Own word, some opinion.
-
Right, So keep going into God's word and see what
-
God says to you.
-
Right. God is not speaking to anyone else but you
-
speaking to you. Right. God is a personal God. Right,
-
Please don't believe the lie of the devil that this
-
know the God's word is only for those people. You know,
-
they're doing all the right things.
-
They are on the stage, they dress up well, only
-
the only God speaks to them.
-
No, God is speaking to you, no matter where you are,
-
even if you're like Mana say, even if you've done
-
stuff like Mana say, burning their children and stuff like
-
that so horrible, God still loves you and God still
-
speaks to you. Right.
-
Did you see how how God actually saved him just
-
like that. He just comes prey, only done nothing, yet
-
did nothing to reverse the problem.
-
God saved him and brought him back to Jerusalem.
-
Hello, it's like it's like the Father running ten steps
-
to Yay, He's home, you know it is. And uh
-
so that's the first thing we need to remember. Find
-
God's word and consume God's word. Next light, I did
-
not sit in the company of.
-
Revelers, revelers, revelers, revelers, okay, whatever.
-
Nor did I rejoice. I sat alone because your hand
-
was upon me. For you filled me with indignation. Why
-
is my my pain and seizing my wound and curable
-
refusing to be healed? Will you be like a deceitful brook,
-
like waters that fail? All right, I want to focus
-
on that first line there. I did not sit in
-
the company of English teachers, any revelers, revelers, revelers.
-
Let's let's go with that. Revelers, okay or or okay,
-
never mind.
-
In in Proverbs they will say I did not sit
-
in the path of sinners scoffers. Right, So, yeah, you
-
know what it means, ah is the is the is
-
the sinners. It's the people who go against God. I
-
did not join them. It's the second thing a disciple does. First,
-
he takes the word of God as priority. Second, he
-
doesn't join in the sin. He doesn't join just because
-
everyone else is doing it. I'm doing it. Also, he
-
doesn't join them. He sometimes has to sit alone. I
-
sit alone, but I know God is His hand is
-
upon me. Hey, man, you're not alone. You sit alone,
-
but you're not alone.
-
Amen. God is with you. And that's even better. You
-
have the Big Man with you. Okay. So that's what
-
What do disciples do? First? Eat the word of God? First?
-
What eat the word of God? Second? What do disciples do?
-
Don't sit with the word. You cannot pronounce the company
-
of revelers? Okay, good, such dictionary later the pronunciation okay, mockers,
-
I use another world you need to okay, course zippers. Yeah,
-
so okay, next next life. Therefore, that says the Lord.
-
If you return, I will restore you, and you shall
-
stand before me. If you utter what is precious and
-
not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth.
-
They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn
-
to them.
-
Okay. Pass here. The thing that disciples do, they speak.
-
They speak what is good they speak life, precious. What
-
is precious? Right?
-
Not worthless? Okay, nor more this worthless stuff. Stop talking
-
brain rot. I've been talking to some teenagers that they
-
say brain brain rot, Like, okay, stop.
-
Talking about brain rot, word rot. You want rotten brains?
-
Don't they say brain life. My brain is alive, my
-
brain is awesome. It's good.
-
Word is created by God. It's beautiful. I have a
-
beautiful mind. That's better.
-
Okay.
-
Don't talk about worthless things. Talk precious, right and uh,
-
and you shall be as my mouth speak like God speaks.
-
Speak what God will speak. Right, you don't know what
-
to say, don't say anything, but speak what God will speak.
-
And man, that's why we need his word in the
-
first place. So we have his word that we can
-
speak His word.
-
Okay. And then next night.
-
And I will make you to this people a fortified
-
wall of bronze. They will fight against you, but they
-
shall not prevail over you, for I am with you
-
to save you and deliver you.
-
They declare the Lord. I will deliver you out of
-
the hand of the wicked and redeem you from the
-
grasp of the ruthless.
-
Last point, here, hold on, I'm with you. It doesn't
-
it sound familiar?
-
Make disciples of all names, and I am with you
-
always to the end of the age. It's the same
-
message here, all right.
-
But I want to go rewind a little bit of
-
those words I didn't underline on top there. I will
-
make you to this people a fortified wall of bronze.
-
They will fight against you, but they shall not prevail
-
over you. This is very familiar with discipleship. You know,
-
when you do discipleship right and you tell someone something,
-
sometimes fight back happens, but you.
-
Will be like a wall. You'll be like a wall.
-
Thick skin, not afraid speak the truth in love. But
-
don't shy. Don't shy back, all right, don't be afraid
-
to speak God's word. Even though they will be pushed back.
-
People don't like what you know.
-
They hear.
-
They might go against you, fight against you, but they
-
will not prevail, amen, because they don't have God's word yet.
-
And God's word is the solid one. So you have
-
Scott's word, you speak God's. You stand firm, and you
-
know whatever they try to fight you with, it will
-
not hold, and finally they will need to give in.
-
So actually, you know what you say is right. It's true, Amen,
-
because I am with you.
-
God is with you. He will deliver you. Don't be
-
afraid even through persecution. I say very like, it's very easy.
-
But I'm also like, okay, Sally, I get persecuted.
-
How all right?
-
But by faith, by faith, I speak it. Don't be afraid.
-
Don't be afraid. Amen, he will deliver. You can hold
-
on to this word. Let's hold on to God's word.
-
