Before we get into the message, my name
-
is Morgan. My husband and I, we are the
-
lead pastors here. Started this church
-
five years ago next week.
-
Yes. So, most of the time you'll see me
-
leading worship and about once a month
-
you'll see me um giving the word to you.
-
Uh one of the things that we are
-
starting today is we are starting a
-
churchwide fast. Okay. Yeah. So, what
-
we're doing for this fast, for the next
-
seven days, we are skipping a meal
-
because we want to focus on what God has
-
coming next through prayer. And so, we
-
encourage you, pick a meal in your day
-
where you're going to spend time praying
-
and reading the word. Maybe you're
-
praying into something for your life
-
that you're needing breakthrough in.
-
Oftentimes, fasting does that. Um, and
-
then we're just praying as a church. We
-
operate in three seasons a year and we
-
are about to step into our third season.
-
Next week is our fifth birthday. And I
-
don't know about you, but we are feeling
-
a shift in our church. We're feeling God
-
do some really incredible and special
-
things. And we want to start this season
-
well. And so we start we're starting it
-
with a fast saying God would you do
-
whatever you want to do in this next
-
four months of the year. So on the
-
screen you will see we also are doing a
-
reading plan that goes along with that
-
for the next seven days and then we will
-
break that fast over lunch free lunch
-
next Sunday. Yeah. Welcome home Sunday.
-
Um why do we call it welcome home
-
Sunday? Why do we put money into Sundays
-
where we're going to feed everybody.
-
Well, we do that because we feel like
-
this place is a church for everyone.
-
This is a home for people, for the lost,
-
for the found, for the broken, for the
-
hurting, for the depressed, for the
-
sinner, for the saint. Um, and so we
-
want next Sunday, don't miss it. We have
-
these invitations up at the front. We
-
want them gone today. We want you to
-
invite everybody you know. We just had
-
somebody come to our house to pick up a
-
marketplace thing. We gave them an
-
invite. They were like, "We will be
-
there. We don't have a church." And so,
-
how cool is that? In your everyday life,
-
you can give an invitation wherever you
-
go. And what you're really doing is
-
you're inviting them into the hope of
-
Jesus. So take these invites, pray over
-
these invites that they would be put
-
into the right hands. Next Sunday is not
-
We have some special things planned
-
because it's our fifth birthday. So be
-
sure do not miss it. Okay, we're going
-
to get into the word today. I want you
-
to open your Bibles to 1st Samuel
-
chapter 14. And then when you're there,
-
tell me that you're there.
-
Okay,
-
this is going to take a bit to read, so
-
bear with me. First Samuel 14:E1
-
says, "One day Jonathan, son of Saul,
-
said to his young armorbearer, "Come,
-
let's go over to the Philistine outpost
-
on the other side. But he did not tell
-
his father." Saul was staying on the
-
outskirts of Giba under a pomegranate
-
tree in Migrant. With him were about 600
-
men, among whom was Ahijah, who was
-
wearing an ephod. He was a son of
-
Kabed's brother, Ahitab, son of Phineas,
-
the son of Eli, the Lord's priest in
-
Shiloh. No one was aware that Jonathan
-
had left. On each side of the path that
-
Jonathan intended to cross to reach the
-
Philistine outpost was a cliff. One was
-
called Bozes and the other Senna. One
-
cliff stood to the north toward Mcmash.
-
What are these names?
-
The other to the south towards Ga.
-
Jonathan said to his young armor bearer,
-
"Come, let's go over to the outpost of
-
those uncircumcised men. Perhaps
-
somebody say perhaps.
-
The Lord will act on our behalf. Nothing
-
can hinder the Lord from saving whether
-
by many or by few. And his armor bearer
-
says, "Do all that you have in mind. Go
-
ahead. I am with you heart and soul."
-
Jonathan said, "Come on then. We will
-
cross over towards them and let them see
-
us. If they say to us, "Wait there until
-
we come to you," we will stay where we
-
are, and we won't go to them. But if
-
they say, "Come up to us," we will climb
-
up because that will be our sign that
-
the Lord has given them into our hands.
-
So both of them showed themselves to the
-
Philistine outpost. "Look," said the
-
Philistines, "the Hebrews are crawling
-
out of the holes that they were hiding
-
in." The men of the outpost shouted to
-
Jonathan and his armorbearer, "Come up
-
to us and we'll teach you a lesson." So
-
Jonathan said to his armor bearer,
-
"Climb up after me. The Lord has given
-
them into our hands." Jonathan climbed
-
up using his hands and feet with his
-
armor bearer right behind him. The
-
Philistines fell before Jonathan and his
-
armor bearer followed and killed behind
-
him. In that first attack, Jonathan and
-
his armor bearer killed some 20 men in
-
an area of about half of an acre.
-
I want to give you context today for
-
what's happening here. Israel is in
-
trouble because the Philistines are
-
defeating them and Saul is the king. If
-
you don't know about Saul, write his
-
name down and go study him. The Saul is
-
king during this time and the army is
-
afraid. Have you ever felt attacked and
-
you kind of freeze up? That is what Saul
-
does. We know from history that Saul is
-
a fearful leader. He worries heavily
-
about what others think of him and so it
-
has hindered his leadership. He was an
-
anointed king, anointed by God, and yet
-
full of fear. So full of fear that he is
-
sitting under a pomegranate tree with
-
600 of his men. And they're sitting
-
there and they're basically pouting and
-
waiting. And Jonathan is Saul's son.
-
And he's like, "Oh, we're going to go
-
defeat the enemy." And so he's wanting
-
to go to the enemy's camp. I want you to
-
imagine large cliffs and that the
-
Philistine army is at the top of the
-
cliffs and this is where they land every
-
day and this is where they go out to
-
fight battles. They're high up so that
-
they can see far and Jonathan is wanting
-
to go straight towards them. Verse one
-
says that Jonathan didn't tell his dad
-
about wanting to go to the enemy's camp.
-
I think that's significant. Scripture
-
never says anything that's not
-
significant.
-
But I think it it makes you ask the
-
question, why didn't he tell his dad,
-
the leader of the army? Why didn't he
-
tell him what he thought should be done?
-
I think that he didn't tell him because
-
Jonathan was not a man of fear. He was a
-
man of faith and he did not want to
-
allow somebody else's fear to dictate
-
his obedience.
-
I'm going to say that again. He didn't
-
want to allow somebody else's fear to
-
dictate his obedience. And today I want
-
to talk about being a people of faith
-
and having this mindset that perhaps God
-
will.
-
A lot of our world is run by fear. If
-
you notice when you turn on social media
-
almost every the things that our eyes
-
are seeing and our ears are hearing
-
is a lot of fear.
-
70% of all marketing is run by fear.
-
Think about it. Something bad could
-
happen to you. So, you need this product
-
and you need this service because you're
-
lacking here. Fear is incredibly
-
effective to get people to act.
-
And because our world is so full of
-
fear,
-
it makes it really hard to access faith,
-
especially when it seems like you're the
-
only one with faith. We aren't reminded
-
of faith as often as we're reminded of
-
fear.
-
Have you noticed that faith has become
-
the delusional option? It's the weaker
-
option.
-
It's no longer the courageous thing or
-
the smart thing to do. It's weird.
-
I'll give you an example. When we first
-
were going to step out and start
-
collective, somebody said to us, "You're
-
going to ruin your family if you do
-
that." Fear, right? To choose to start a
-
new church. the [snorts] faith option.
-
Too many believers
-
felt delusional. It was too hard. It was
-
dumb. It was too risky. You're going to
-
ruin your life and your family's life.
-
But we knew for us that despite what
-
some were saying, we didn't want to
-
choose the fearful option, but the
-
faithfilled one, even if that meant
-
hardship. But many people, they can't
-
discern that for themselves. And
-
therefore they would choose the fear
-
option to not move on faith because it's
-
the more rational option that avoids the
-
most pain.
-
Pain has kept us as a people from acting
-
in faith.
-
God not answering your prayers or us
-
experiencing prolonged suffering has
-
made us a people that want faith. We
-
desire faith. We will clap on a Sunday
-
morning when we hear a story of faith.
-
But for ourselves, we have been so
-
disappointed
-
and we think that God won't do it for
-
us. And so we put faith in a box on a
-
shelf in our minds and we never actually
-
put action to it because we don't want
-
to be disappointed if God doesn't do it
-
or if he doesn't answer again.
-
Right? Our decisions are being made with
-
fear in mind instead of faith. I'm not
-
saying that we shouldn't use wisdom or
-
counsel. We're going to talk about how
-
Jonathan does that. But we have some
-
paralysis in the church when it comes to
-
faith that I want us to push past today.
-
That when everyone else is choosing fear
-
that we can be the people that choose
-
faith every time. And I want to open
-
your eyes today to how big and great and
-
awesome our God is and how a life of
-
faith is actually not delusional. It's
-
actually the abundant life. Amen.
-
Are you ready for your faith to rise
-
today? All right, here we go. Uh there's
-
six ways or six things that I think that
-
faith requires that we're going to read
-
about. Number one, you can write this
-
down. Faith requires movement.
-
I want you to notice in verse two, take
-
your eyes up to verse two. What do you
-
see Saul doing? He is sitting right.
-
Verse six, you see Jonathan is moving.
-
Saul is waiting for something to happen
-
and Jonathan is moving forward until God
-
tells him otherwise. And so Jonathan got
-
to be a part of the miracle and Saul
-
just got to see somebody else experience
-
the miracle because Saul was sitting and
-
Jonathan was moving. Saul had 600 men.
-
These are army guys. Okay? Jonathan had
-
one man, his armor bearer. Saul had the
-
title, but Jonathan had faith. Sitting
-
does not require faith. Sitting and
-
wondering does not require faith. I can
-
have faith that I could climb a
-
mountain. But if I just sit at the base
-
of the mountain and think about climbing
-
it, is that faith? No.
-
Until I climb it, it's just words. Until
-
I move, it's just a thought. Faith
-
requires me to move and do something.
-
Jonathan couldn't know what God would do
-
until he was willing to move in faith.
-
Jonathan didn't know what would happen
-
when he crossed that valley, but he knew
-
that nothing was going to happen if he
-
didn't move. Sometimes the miracle isn't
-
waiting for more information or waiting
-
for God to do something. Sometimes the
-
miracle is waiting for you to do
-
something. Faith requires movement.
-
Number two, faith requires risk.
-
In verse two, it subtly says that the
-
territory that Jonathan was about to
-
walk into had cliffs on each side, 250
-
ft up. Scholars believe these are jagged
-
cliffs full of limestone.
-
Jonathan had to risk a lot to move on
-
what he felt he was supposed to do. Not
-
going to see me climbing a cliff. I
-
tried, well, I've tried to climb a few
-
mountains and I got halfway. I literally
-
on one of the mountains I said, "You can
-
go up. I'm staying right here and you
-
can come back and get me." And he did.
-
[laughter]
-
Jonathan, he had a lot. He had to risk a
-
lot to move on what he felt that he was
-
supposed to do. It was worth the risk to
-
him. He did not know if he was going to
-
live or die, but he still chose the risk
-
because he knew
-
who his God was. Faith had greater
-
authority than fear.
-
There will always be obstacles and
-
barriers when you choose faith. Faith is
-
never easy and it is almost always
-
scary. It does not take faith when it's
-
easy. That just takes a decision. It's
-
risky to try something when you don't
-
know if God's going to show up. It's
-
risky when you don't know if God's going
-
to provide. It's risky to talk to
-
somebody about faith when you might be
-
shut down.
-
When we started the church, it sounded
-
fun and glamorous until we didn't have
-
any money and our training was cancelled
-
and COVID started the first week that we
-
left our previous jobs and we're stuck
-
in our home looking at each other like,
-
"How do we even start? We don't know
-
what we're doing." It's risky when you
-
might fail. It's risky when you know God
-
might not answer the way that you want.
-
It's risky when the fear makes more
-
sense than the faith.
-
But God does not work in ways that make
-
sense. What the world might say is dumb,
-
God says that's faith.
-
I want you to think about Noah built an
-
ark. Can you imagine if we went to
-
Village Point and somebody is building a
-
boat saying that it's going to rain?
-
Like I would think they're delusional,
-
right?
-
And here's Noah building a boat. Abraham
-
puts his son on the altar. David runs
-
towards Goliath with a sling and some
-
rocks.
-
Joshua marches around a wall. seven
-
times
-
hoping that it comes down. Peter stepped
-
out of a boat and walks on water.
-
The world would say dumb, right?
-
But God says that looks like faith to
-
me.
-
And God always responds to faith. Amen.
-
Faith requires risk. Number three, faith
-
requires belief. Hebrews 11:1 says that
-
faith is confidence in what we hope for
-
and assurance or belief for what we do
-
not see. If you can see it, it doesn't
-
require faith.
-
Faith requires a belief in who God is.
-
Not a belief in the outcome. Not a
-
belief that he will answer when and how
-
I want, but a belief that he will be
-
faithful to his character. Jonathan says
-
in verse six, he says, "Perhaps God
-
will." This is not him unsure of God.
-
This is a humility of himself saying, "I
-
don't know that he will allow us to
-
defeat our enemy, but I believe that he
-
can if he desires to." And some of you
-
have gotten so stuck in your
-
circumstance for so long that you have
-
lost all belief that God even can. And
-
what you're sure of is that he won't do
-
it for you.
-
and you are leaning towards the
-
possibility that he actually just can't
-
because your marriage has been broken
-
for too long. Your dreams have been
-
delayed for too long. He's kept you at
-
that job for too long. The addiction is
-
never ending.
-
You don't believe that the relationship
-
will ever be mended. You don't believe
-
that the Lord will ever gift you with a
-
godly spouse. You don't believe that the
-
prayer will ever be answered. And you
-
don't believe that that person will ever
-
come to know Jesus as Lord.
-
I want to inject some faith in you today
-
that perhaps he still will.
-
That God is not he is not done with you
-
or your story. Perhaps he is bigger than
-
you think or you know.
-
We trust the character of God and not
-
our circumstance.
-
We cannot see from his vantage point.
-
We choose faith instead of doubt and we
-
don't allow unanswered prayers to be the
-
final say. We trust and believe that he
-
can and he will if he desires. And if he
-
doesn't answer the way that I want, if
-
he doesn't give me my heart's desire,
-
because I know him, I believe that it is
-
somehow for my good that I will only see
-
in glory.
-
I know that he wants good for me. But
-
here's the thing. Good is not always the
-
answer that I want. Good is the
-
character and faithfilled life that he
-
is trying to produce in me. And
-
sometimes it doesn't look good to me,
-
but it is good to him.
-
Number four, faith often requires
-
armorbearers.
-
I say the word often because you can
-
step out in faith on your own, but a lot
-
of the time I believe that it requires
-
an armor bearer. Verse seven says, "Do
-
all that you have in mind. Go ahead. I'm
-
with you heart and soul."
-
Had Jonathan not had his armor bearer
-
saying to him, "I'm with you heart and
-
soul." I don't know if Jonathan would
-
have had the courage to go and climb
-
that cliff towards the enemy.
-
There's something about his armorbearer
-
saying that I'm with you that I know
-
gave Jonathan the courage to say, "All
-
right, let's go. Let's take this battle
-
on." There is something about having
-
somebody in your corner who believes in
-
you that gives you courage and boldness.
-
Faith is rarely done alone. I was just
-
telling our core team, this church
-
started with 14 people. We got together
-
with them about a week ago and we I I
-
said to them, "Had you not believed in
-
us, I don't know that we could have made
-
it the first five years."
-
There were nights, church, that I
-
couldn't even get out of bed. Days that
-
I was stricken with fear, pain. My faith
-
was so weak.
-
It was pathetic. Honestly,
-
my soul was weary. I was doing I felt
-
like my husband, he's led a youth of
-
hundreds of kids. I've never led a
-
church. I've never led a people. How am
-
I going to do this? And yet we had
-
people and we still do today that are
-
there encouraging us, celebrating with
-
us, praying over us, reminding us of
-
God's vision and the things he has said.
-
We're just people like you, right? So we
-
need, you need people in our corner.
-
The Lord and his people are what have
-
carried us and they continue to carry us
-
because we know that we are not strong
-
enough people. We're not good enough
-
people to always stay in a state of
-
faith. And I felt like somebody needed
-
to hear this today that you are not a
-
bad person or a bad Christian when your
-
faith feels weak. And some of you think
-
that you're not a Christian when your
-
faith is weak. And that is a lie of the
-
enemy.
-
That gives the body of Christ an
-
opportunity to be the body.
-
There were days my sister when she was
-
living with us, she'd come in my room
-
and be like, "Get up. We are fighting
-
this battle together." Literally, we
-
need the body to encourage us and propel
-
us towards faith. You need the body to
-
hold you up when you have nothing left.
-
And we've got to be a people that are
-
willing to be vulnerable when it comes
-
to that. Do not come into this place and
-
try and hide your mess or try and hide
-
your weakness.
-
We're all weak, right? [snorts]
-
We need each other. In Exodus uh chapter
-
17, Moses is fighting this battle and
-
he's got two guys with him. Their names
-
are Aaron and her.
-
And when Moses is fighting this battle,
-
I want you to imagine these two guys
-
beside, one on each side, literally
-
holding up his arms because the battle,
-
if he dropped his arms, he was losing.
-
His arms had to stay up. Did you know
-
that they stayed up for 8 to 12 hours a
-
day from morning to night because Aaron
-
and her on each side were holding up his
-
arms? I can't even hold mine for like a
-
minute, right? Can you imagine 8 to 12
-
hours just like holding up this guy's
-
arms because that's the only way he was
-
going to win the battle. It was their
-
belief, Aaron and hers belief in Moses
-
that allowed for Moses to win the
-
battle.
-
You need people to do the same for you.
-
When you are taking big risks, don't
-
take it alone.
-
You need people believing with you. We
-
need to be that for each other that when
-
your faith feels weak or my faith feels
-
weak, we get to shine as the body of
-
Christ. We get to come in and say, "Let
-
me hold up your arms." Are you
-
struggling today? Let me help you. We're
-
going to fight this battle together.
-
We're going to conquer it, and I'm going
-
to hold up your arms until you see the
-
victory.
-
Number five, faith requires
-
confirmation.
-
I'm sure that you all know people
-
that you look at their step of faith and
-
you are thinking, is that faith or is
-
that flesh?
-
I think big faith decisions need
-
confirmation.
-
>> [music]
-
>> I believe that in crazy faith moments
-
that God gives confirmation through
-
himself or through [music] his people.
-
We can show you a list of about 40
-
confirmations that God gave to us
-
[music]
-
when we started collective.
-
He's big enough to speak 40 different
-
ways. You don't have to say I don't know
-
if I should [music] step out in faith in
-
this way. You've got a God who's big
-
enough to tell you and you've got a
-
[music] people around you that are wise
-
that can go to God in prayer with you.
-
[music] We had faith that God would
-
provide for us and build his church, but
-
we needed confirmation that he wanted us
-
to act on our [music] faith. Sometimes
-
the confirmation just aligns with his
-
word. I think of faith for healing.
-
Jesus tells us to pray for healing and
-
to believe for it. That's the
-
confirmation. [music]
-
Jesus wants to see you healed.
-
Faith for us to leave our jobs and start
-
a church. There's not scripture for
-
that. And if I'm being honest, I don't
-
know if you know this, but we travel to
-
go help other churches start. [music]
-
And we have seen people wanting to start
-
a church. They've got the enthusiasm,
-
but [music] they don't have the call
-
from God. And they do it
-
in a wrong heart. [music] And we have to
-
say, you're not ready. You're not ready
-
to do this. It can be a good thing to
-
start a church, but it can [music] be a
-
bad thing if you're not called. And so,
-
we needed confirmation for us, people
-
that we trusted. And Jonathan needed the
-
same thing in verse eight. Come on. Then
-
we will cross over towards them and
-
we're going to let them see us. Now, if
-
they say to us, "Wait," then we're going
-
to stay where we are and we're not going
-
to go up. But if they say, "Come up,"
-
we're going to climb because that's our
-
sign. That's our confirmation [music]
-
that the Lord has given them into our
-
hands. I believe that God is saying to
-
move in faith here. So, I will move in
-
that direction, but I will wait for
-
confirmation.
-
I'm not going to let my emotions drive
-
my [music] faith. I have to hear from
-
God.
-
Verse 12, the men of the outpost shouted
-
to Jonathan and his armor bearer, "Come
-
up to us." And Jonathan says, "That's
-
our [music] confirmation. Come on, armor
-
bearer. Why don't you climb up after me
-
and we're going to take this thing.
-
Number six, this is the last one.
-
Faith sometimes
-
requires [music] crazy.
-
I questioned on whether I was going to
-
tell you this
-
because some of you will hear it and you
-
will [music] think that I'm crazy for
-
believing God for something so big. I
-
haven't even told anybody this. You
-
[music] are the first to hear.
-
Others of you, the people that I'm
-
really talking to today, you will hear
-
it and you'll begin to believe God
-
[music] for big things for your life.
-
I often find myself praying for things
-
that many people laugh at, but I just
-
have the mindset [music] that perhaps
-
God will do it.
-
One of the crazy things that I'm
-
currently asking God for, [music] I want
-
to I want you to hear from my current
-
state of mind. I'm believing that God
-
will put a million dollars in our hands
-
for a building.
-
And some people will laugh at that, but
-
I want to believe
-
like Jonathan that perhaps [music] God
-
will do it. And here's the thing, he may
-
not. That's why it feels so scary
-
[music]
-
and vulnerable to tell you that.
-
But that cannot keep me from asking.
-
For some reason, I feel led to pray and
-
ask for [music] that. And my faith for
-
it may seem crazy to some, but I don't
-
think that it's crazy to God. I would
-
rather ask and he [music] not do it than
-
to never ask at all.
-
I know God enough to know that if he
-
doesn't give us that, [music] that he
-
will still provide somehow, some way.
-
And even if he doesn't do that,
-
if he never provides that,
-
he must have a really good reason. And I
-
trust [music] that because I know him.
-
The way that I see it is I'm asking the
-
God of the [music] universe. I'm asking
-
the one who created all things. I'm
-
asking the owner of all money. I'm
-
asking the king of all kings. Why would
-
I not ask? Nothing. Nothing is too hard
-
for the Lord. And it might seem crazy to
-
some, but it sounds like faith to God. I
-
want to be known as a person. I want to
-
be known by [music] God as a person of
-
faith. Even when it sounded crazy, I
-
know that my God [music] is bigger. And
-
I know that he is able.
-
When we look at this [music] story in
-
the Bible,
-
I want you to see that God did [music]
-
not need a big army. He needed two
-
people with faith. God did not need
-
favorable circumstances.
-
He needed willing vessels. God did not
-
need the numbers to make sense. He
-
needed a people that were willing to
-
move in faith. And today
-
he is looking for a people that are
-
willing to move in faith [music] because
-
the same God of the Bible is the same
-
God of today.
-
I want you to stand to your feet.
-
If we want if we want to see God do
-
crazy things, we have to be a people
-
that are willing to move in faith, that
-
are willing to risk it all. That what
-
might look dumb to the world looks like
-
faith to our God. And not a people that
-
have certainty before they do something,
-
but a confidence that says perhaps God
-
would do it.
-
Perhaps he will provide for you. Perhaps
-
he will save. Perhaps he will heal.
-
Perhaps he will restore. Perhaps he will
-
deliver. Do you have faith for it today?
-
Come on. For your life, for your family,
-
for your healing.
-
Oh, come on. Would you just begin? I
-
want you to come forward if you have
-
faith today or if you want faith today.
-
We are going to believe God for more.
-
We're going to believe him for bigger
-
things. Come on. Does anybody have faith
-
this morning? come forward. I want you
-
with your mouth to lift it up to him.
-
Whatever you've been waiting on him for,
-
whatever, maybe it's been years, maybe
-
it's been months, I want you to believe
-
God for it. I want you to be willing to
-
risk it all. I want you to be willing to
-
ask him for big things. Come on, with
-
your own mouth. Would you lift it up?
-
Come on, let's sing this song. Way
-
maker, miracle work, promise keep, light
-
in the darkness. My God, that is who you
-
are. Oh, it's who you are.
-
Way maker, miracle worker, promise
-
keeper, light [music] in the darkness.
-
My God, that is who you are.
-
Way maker, miracle worker, promise
-
[music and singing] keeper, light in the
-
darkness. My God, that
-
[music and singing] is who you are.
-
Who you are,
-
way maker, miracle worker, promise keep,
-
light in the darkness. My God, [music]
-
that is who you are. Oh, that is who you
-
are.
-
That is who you are.
-
That is [music] who you are.
-
That is who you are.
-
That is [music] who you are. Even when I
-
don't see it,
-
even when I don't see it, you're
-
working. Even when I don't feel it,
-
you're working. You never stop. You
-
never stop working. You never stop. You
-
never stop.
-
Even when I don't see it, you're
-
working. Even when I don't feel it,
-
you're working. You never stop. [music]
-
You never stop working. You never stop.
-
You never stop working. Even when I
-
don't see it, you're working. Even when
-
I don't feel it, you're working. [music]
-
You never stop. You never stop working.
-
Even [music] when I don't see it, you're
-
working. Even when I don't feel it,
-
you're working. You never stop. You
-
never stop working. You never stop. You
-
are
-
way maker, miracle [music] worker,
-
promise keeper, light in the darkness.
-
My [singing] God, that is who you are.
-
>> Way make [music] work, promise keep
-
light in the darkness. My God, that is
-
who you are. Sing it. That's who you
-
are. That is who you are.
-
That is who you are.
-
That is who [music] you are.
-
That is who you are, Jesus.
-
>> That is who you [music] are.
-
That is who you are.
-
I feel I feel a little bit like there is
-
a block in the room. I feel [music] like
-
what that block is is fear.
-
There is this idea that God won't
-
[music] do it for you
-
because you've been hurt for [music] so
-
long. You've been let down so many
-
times. And I just want to pray into
-
that. I want to pray [music] that as we
-
walk out of here today,
-
that faith [music] would be the
-
strongest muscle in our bones.
-
That we would walk differently, that we
-
would talk differently, and [music] most
-
of all, that we would view God
-
differently. So God, I pray I pray
-
against [music] every bit of fear in
-
this room. I pray for every person
-
[music] that has ever been let down,
-
felt like they've been let down by you.
-
God, would you build their faith today?
-
Lord, would they believe again
-
for greater things? Would they believe
-
again for the healing? [music]
-
Would they believe again for the
-
promise? [snorts] Would they believe
-
again for the restoration?
-
God, we lay the fear at your feet
-
and we open up our hearts to trusting
-
you again. That we [music] would not
-
give in to what the enemy has to say.
-
That we would [music] not let fear have
-
the final say,
-
but that a faith would begin to bubble
-
up inside of our spirit.
-
and that we would walk out of here with
-
great joy, with great expectation,
-
with a great hunger [snorts]
-
and a great awakening for what you are
-
able to do.
-
And God, we trust you with the timing.
-
We [music] trust you with the yes. And
-
we trust you with the no. And we trust
-
you in the waiting
-
because we know your character. because
-
[music] we know that you are good and
-
you are faithful and you are kind and
-
you are loving and you are just.
-
We trust you [music] with all of it. I
-
pray for every person that is at this
-
altar, Lord, that you [music] would
-
build their faith exponentially this
-
morning. The dreams inside of them, the
-
businesses [music] that they want to
-
start, the ministry that they want to
-
step into, the career path that they
-
want [music] to go down,
-
the healing that they're waiting on, the
-
deliverance from the [music] addiction
-
that they're wanting.
-
Lord, give us faith.
-
Give us faith
-
for what the God of the impossible is
-
able to [music] do.
-
We trust you. We trust you. We trust
-
you.
-
Amen.
-
>> I want to say something real quick
-
before we close out here. Uh Mark
-
[music] chapter 9 verse 24. Jesus
-
encounters a man
-
who who knows what Jesus can do but is
-
unsure
-
in this exact this fear. I I was feeling
-
the same thing that that Pastor Morgan's
-
talking about [music] like this this
-
fear and he says if you can
-
would you heal? And Jesus goes if I can.
-
Yeah.
-
>> And then I love the way that the man
-
responds and [music] I want to speak
-
specifically to those of you at this
-
altar or those of you who are feeling
-
pulled in this and not responded up to
-
the altar. This is what he says. He
-
says,
-
"I believe.
-
Help my unbelief."
-
It's this statement of I believe. Like I
-
think that's what this this coming
-
forward is. It's like I believe,
-
help my unbelief.
-
And in this idea of like, help build my
-
faith. Help strengthen my faith. Because
-
if you actually [music] want to cry out
-
that prayer to the Lord, help my
-
unbelief.
-
He will. He may give you a sense of
-
faith and an emotion of confidence
-
inside of you right now of a certainty
-
of what he is leading you into.
-
But
-
I don't I don't know if I see that
-
[music] in this passage in First Samuel
-
14 that there's an emotional I'm certain
-
of this thing. It's like
-
I believe. Help my unbelief. I believe,
-
right? Like I I know you can. And here's
-
[music] where here's where I I feel like
-
the Lord is saying this is why I came up
-
ultimately for all of this. I believe.
-
Help my unbelief. If you cry out, "Help
-
[music] my unbelief." I believe God is
-
going to give you an opportunity to
-
express that faith. And it's going to be
-
scary. And it's [music] going to be
-
uncomfortable
-
and it's going to challenge you. It's
-
going to require risk. It's going to
-
require armor bears. And it's probably
-
not going to feel super fuzzy, warm, and
-
exciting.
-
Maybe he will stir that up in you, but I
-
don't know about you guys, when the Lord
-
leads me in a [music] scary direction, I
-
feel a peace and a fear at the same
-
time.
-
>> Yeah. I feel like I'm pretty I'm pretty
-
certain this is him, but I'm not
-
positive I'm going to see him move. So,
-
I'm going to I'm going to walk forward
-
anyway. [music] I'm going to take the
-
risk anyway. I'm going to overcome the
-
fear anyway. Look for that in the days,
-
weeks, and months to come.
-
Look for his help for your unbelief
-
because his help for your unbelief
-
[music]
-
may be a cliff with a mountain with with
-
an army at the top of it.
-
I believe it in the mighty name of
-
Jesus.
-
We believe.
-
And if there's [music] not emotion here,
-
Lord, we're just standing on the belief
-
on a faith that's rooted in you, not in
-
us. In your [music] ability, not our
-
fear. We believe.
-
Help us
-
in our unbelief. [snorts]
-
even if [music] it means you're going to
-
provide an army to set before us that
-
we've got to conquer. In the mighty name
-
of [music] Jesus, we pray. Amen. Come
-
on. Can we give a hand for Pastor Morgan
-
and the word of the Lord?
-
>> Hey, thanks so much for watching today's
-
message. Our prayer is more than the
-
words that were spoken in the message
-
that you would remember the things that
-
God [music] spoke to your heart.
-
>> Yeah. And no matter what it was that God
-
spoke to you, I know that part of your
-
journey is other people being in a
-
community because we are better
-
together. So if you made a decision to
-
follow Jesus today, [music] would you
-
click the link below and fill out the
-
form? This is going to help us so that
-
we can celebrate with you [music] and
-
equip you with some tools so that your
-
next steps are great steps.
-
>> Yeah. Thanks so much for watching. We're
-
praying for you. We're cheering you on.
-
We believe that the [music] best days
-
are ahead of you.
