  1. Good evening. Welcome to Voice in the Wilderness. I'm Don Noble of Pureheart

  2. Ministries, and I welcome you today with exceedingly abundantly and overflowing joy. Tomorrow

  3. is fourth of July, so tonight's message is the Great Celebration, and I'm

  4. actually going to be sharing an article written by Bill Fetterer. I talked about

  5. Bill a couple of weeks ago. He's a great Christian historian, and this

  6. man gets facts that nobody has. So I'm excited to share with you what

  7. he has to say about this great day called fourth of July, because the

  8. Declaration of Independence was signed that day. So here we go, and he

  9. starts that the greatest revolution that has ever taken place in the world's history was

  10. the American Revolution, says Ronald Reagan, thirty eight year old King George the

  11. Third ruled the largest empire that planet Earth had ever seen at that time.

  12. The Declaration of Independence, signed July fourth, seventeen seventy six, listed twenty

  13. seven reasons why Americans declared their independence from the King, and so I'm going

  14. to read those. The King George the Third, has made judges dependent on

  15. his will alone. He has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent

  16. hither swarms of officers to harass our people and eat out their substance. He

  17. has kept among us, in times of peace, standing armies to subject us

  18. to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitute, tuition, for quartering large bodies of

  19. armed troops among us, for imposing taxes on us without our consent, for

  20. depriving us, in many cases of the benefit of trial by jury, for

  21. establishing an arbitrary government, for altering fundamentally the forms of our governments. George

  22. the third has plundered our seas, ravaged our coasts, burnt our towns,

  23. and destroyed the lives of our people. He is at this time transporting large

  24. armies of foreign mercenaries to complete the works of death, desolation, and tyranny.

  25. He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavored to bring on

  26. the inhabitants of our frontiers the merciless Indian savages, whose known rule of warfare

  27. is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes, and conditions. Thirty three

  28. year old Thomas Jefferson's original rough draft of the declaration contained a line condemning slavery,

  29. as the King of England was part owner of the Royal African Company,

  30. and he says he has waged cruel war against human nature itself and in the

  31. persons of a distant people who never offended him, captivating and carrying them into

  32. slavery in another hemisphere, or to incur miserable death in their transportation, thither

  33. suppressing every legislative attempt to prohibit or to restrain this execrable commerce, determining to

  34. keep open a market where men should be bought and sold. Unfortunately, a

  35. few delegates from Southern states objected to this line. Since everyone was in a

  36. panic as the British were invading New York and the city was in flames,

  37. and since the declaration needed to pass unanimously, the line in Jefferson's original draft

  38. condemning slavery was tragically set aside. John Hancock, the thirty nine year old

  39. President of the Continental Congress, signed the declaration first, reportedly saying the price

  40. on my head has just doubled. Next to sign was Secretary Charles Thompson,

  41. age forty seven. Seventy year old Benjamin Franklin said we must hang together,

  42. or most assuredly we shall hang separately. The declaration referred to God, said

  43. the laws of Nature and of Nature's God. And it said all men are

  44. created equal, but they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights.

  45. Appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rec atitude of our intentions

  46. and for the support of this declaration. With a firm reliance on the protection

  47. of divine providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes,

  48. and our sacred honor. This was revolutionary, as kings did not believe

  49. everyone was created equal. Oh, they believed that they were created extra special.

  50. Their belief was called the divine right of kings, namely that the Creator

  51. gave rights to the King and dispensed them, and he dispensed them at his

  52. discretion to whoever he wished. The Declaration of Independence bypassed the King, declaring

  53. that the Creator gives rights directly to each individual person. Many of the fifty

  54. six signers sacrifice their prosperity for their posterity, and a couple weeks ago I

  55. talked about that word posterity, which means future generations. So these fifty six

  56. men sacrificed their prosperity, their livelihood, their futures for future generations, and

  57. that's you and I. Of the signers, eleven had their homes destroyed,

  58. five were hunted and captured, seventeen served in the military, and nine died

  59. during the war. Twenty seven year old George Walton signed and at the Battle

  60. of Savannah, was wounded and captured. Signers Edward Rutledge, age twenty seven,

  61. Thomas Hayward Junior, age thirty, and Arthur Middleton, aged thirty four

  62. were made prisoners at the Siege of Charleston. Thirty eight year old signer Thomas

  63. Nelson had his home used as British headquarters during the Siege of Yorktown now Sun

  64. reportedly offered five guineas to the first man to hit his house. Signer Carter

  65. Braxton, age forty, lost his fortune during the war. Forty two year

  66. old signer Thomas McKean wrote that he was hunted like a fox by the enemy,

  67. compelled to remove my family five times in three months. Forty six year

  68. old Richards stocked and signed and was dragged from his bed at night and jailed.

  69. Fifty year old signer Lewis Morris had his home taken and used as a

  70. barracks. Fifty year old signer Abraham Clark had two sons tortured and imprisoned on

  71. the British starving ship Jersey. More Americans died on British starving ships then died

  72. in battle during the Revolution. That is hard to believe. Fifty three year

  73. old signer Reverend John Witherspoon had his son James killed in the Battle of Germantown.

  74. Sixty year old signer Philip Livingston lost several properties to British occupation and died

  75. before the war ended. Sixty three year old signer Francis Lewis found out that

  76. the British plundered his home and carried away his wife, Elizabeth, putting her

  77. in prison. The British wanted to make an example of her, so they

  78. denied her a change of clothes, a bed, and gave her nothing but

  79. the most meager food. She was treated so harshly that she died shortly after

  80. being released. Sixty five year old signer John Hart had he's home looted and

  81. had to remain in hiding, dying before the war ended. Forty one year

  82. old John Adams wrote to his wife Abigail, of the declaration and said this.

  83. He said, I'm apt to believe that it will be cellible rated by

  84. succeeding generations as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated as the

  85. day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought

  86. to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports,

  87. guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations from one end of this continent to the

  88. other, from this time forward, forevermore goofstamp Demoumont, a contemporary of Alexis

  89. to Tookefille, wrote in eighteen thirty five, he said, I have seen

  90. a meeting of the Senate in Washington open with a prayer, And the anniversary

  91. festival of the Declaration of Independence consists in the United States of an entirely religious

  92. ceremony. John Adams continued in his letter to his wife Abigail, and said,

  93. you will think me transported with enthusiasm, But I am not. I

  94. am well aware of the toil and blood and treasure that it will cost us

  95. to maintain this declaration and support and defend these states. Yet through all the

  96. gloom I can see rays of ravishing light and glory. I can see that

  97. the end is more than worth all the means, and that posterity while triumph

  98. in that day's transaction, Even although we should rue it, which I trust

  99. in God, we shall not. When fifty four year old Samuel Adams signed

  100. the Declaration, he said, we have this day restored the sovereign to whom

  101. all men ought to be obedient. He reigns in heaven, and from the

  102. rising to the setting of the sun, let his kingdom come. Thirty four

  103. year old James Wilson signed the Declaration. He later signed the Constitution and was

  104. appointed to Supreme Court by George Washington. James Wilson stated in seventeen eighty seven

  105. he said, after a period of six thousand years since creation, the United

  106. States exhibit to the world the first instance of a nation assembling voluntarily and deciding

  107. that system of government under which they and their posterity should live. Senator Daniel

  108. Webster stated in eighteen o two he said, miracles do not cluster, and

  109. what has happened once in six and years may not happen again. Hold on

  110. to the Constitution, for if the American Constitution should fail, there will be

  111. anarchy throughout the world. I want to stop right there, because truer words

  112. were never spoken. We have a regime in Washington. We have a regime

  113. in the White House. They are determined to destroy the Constitution. The DOJ,

  114. the FBI, the CI they are these people are determined to destroy our

  115. constitution. And look what he says. He said, hold onto it,

  116. he said, because if the American Constitution should fail, there will be anarchy

  117. throughout the world. Hello, people, get a grip. John j was

  118. President of the Continental Congress seventeen seventy eight through seventeen seventy nine and later nominated

  119. by George Washington to be the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. John

  120. Jay wrote this in seventeen seventy seven. He said, the Americans are the

  121. first people whom Heaven has favored with an opportunity of choosing the forms of government

  122. under which they should live. All other constitutions have derived their existence from violence

  123. or accidental circumstances. He said, your lives, your liberties, your property

  124. will be at the disposal only of your creator and yourselves. Yale President Ezra

  125. Styles seventeen eighty eight said this. He said, all forms of civil polity

  126. have been tried by mankind except one, and that seems to have been reserved

  127. in providence to be realized. In America. At the time of the revolutionary

  128. warrant, nearly every other country on Earth was ruled by a king. Doctor

  129. pat Robertson wrote in America's Dates with Destiny nineteen eighty six. He sat on

  130. September seventeen, seventeen eighty seven, the day our Constitution was signed. The

  131. absolute monarch Chien Long, Emperor of the Manchu dynasty, reigned supreme over the

  132. people of China. Revolts were put down by ruthless military force. In Japan,

  133. the shogun warriors of the corrupt Tokugawa Chamberlain Tanuma Atsikutsu exercised corrupt and totalitarian

  134. authority over the Japanese. In India, Warren Hastings, the British governor of

  135. Bengal, had successfully defeated the influence of the fragmented Mogul dynasties that ruled India

  136. since sixteen hundred. Catherine the Second was the enlightened despot of all the Russias.

  137. Joseph the Second was the Emperor of Austria, Bohemia and Hungary for almost

  138. half a century. Frederick the Great had ruled Prussia, and Louis the sixteenth

  139. sat uneasily on his throne in France just years away from revolution, a bloody

  140. experiment in democracy and the new tyranny of Napoleon Bonaparte. A kind of constitutional

  141. government had been created in the Netherlands in fifteen seventy seventy nine by the Protestant

  142. Union of Utrech, but that constitution was really a loose federation of the northern

  143. provinces provinces for a defense against Catholic Spain. What was happening in America had

  144. no real precedent, even as far back as the City States of Greece.

  145. The only real president was established thousands of years before by the tribes of Israel

  146. in the Covenant with God and with each other. Ooh, isn't that a

  147. good piece of information? President Roosevelt Theodore Roosevelt stated in nineteen o three.

  148. He said, in no other place, and at no other time, has

  149. the experiment of government of the people, by the people for the people been

  150. tried on so vast a scale as here in our own country. And I

  151. say amen. President Calvin Coolidge stated in nineteen twenty four. The history of

  152. government on this earth has been almost entirely rule of force, held in the

  153. hands of a few. Under our constitution, America committed itself to power in

  154. the hands of the people. And I might say that that doesn't seem to

  155. be the case today in this land. Under the regime that is ruling in

  156. the White House. A king has subjects who are subjected to his will.

  157. The word citizen is Greek, and it means a co ruler, a co

  158. regent, a co king. America's founders, for all their faults, gave

  159. a present to all future citizens. Namely, each person gets to be king

  160. of their own life, and all citizens together are the co kings of the

  161. country. So we receive a present. We received an incredible present, but

  162. it is being ripped to shreds as we speak. A republic where the people

  163. are king ruling through representatives. America is a republic where we the people get

  164. to rule ourselves. I wish that were so. I wish that were so.

  165. When someone protests the flag, what are they effectively saying is that they

  166. no longer want to be king. They want someone else to rule their life.

  167. President Ford stated in Rock Hill South Carolina, October nineteenth, nineteen seventy

  168. four. He said, what they don't tell us when they propose all these

  169. benefits that they are going to give you from our government, is that a

  170. government big enough to give us everything we want is a government big enough to

  171. take from us every thing we have. Oh my goodness, let me repeat

  172. that so you hear it again. President Ford said this in nineteen seventy four.

  173. He said, a government big enough to give us everything we want is

  174. a government big enough to take from us everything we have. Ronald Reagan opened

  175. the Ashbrook Center in Ashelin a High nineteen eighty three. He said this from

  176. their own harsh experience with intrusive, overbearing government, the Founding Fathers made a

  177. great breakthrough in political understanding. They understood that it is the excesses of government,

  178. the will to power of one man over another, that has been a

  179. principal source of injustice and human suffering through the ages. Reagan continued, the

  180. Founding Fathers understood that only by making government the servant, not the master,

  181. only by positing sovereignty in the people and not the state, can we hope

  182. to protect freedom. In seventeen seventy six, the source of government excess was

  183. the crown's abuse of power and its attempt to suffocate the colonists with its overbearing

  184. demands. In our own day, the danger of too much state power has

  185. taken a subtler, but no less dangerous form. True words, John Adams

  186. wrote in his notes on a dissertation on Canon and Feudal Law in seventeen sixty

  187. five, that's a long time ago, folks, He said, I always

  188. consider the settlement of America as the opening of a grand scheme and design in

  189. Providence for the emancipation of the slavish part of mankind all over the earth.

  190. Do you understand what he's saying there? He sang that he saw that having

  191. America become America was just the beginning of freeing people all over the world.

  192. In other words, we're the city on the hill. We are the one

  193. who has brought freedom and life to other nations. John Jay noted in seventeen

  194. seventy seven he said, this glorious revolution distinguished by so many marks of the

  195. divine favor and interposition, and I may say miraculous that when future ages shall

  196. read its history, they will be tempted to consider a great part of it

  197. as fabulous. The many remarkable events by which our wants have been supplied and

  198. our enemies repelled, are such strong and striking proofs of the interposition of Heaven,

  199. that our having been hitherto delivered from the threatened bondage of Britain, aught

  200. like the emancipation of the Jews from Egyptian servitude. Franklin Roosevelt stated in nineteen

  201. thirty nine. He said, rulers increased their power over the common men.

  202. The seamen they sent to find gold found instead the way of escape for the

  203. common man from those rulers. What they found over the western horizon was not

  204. the silken jewels of Cathay, but mankind's second chance, a chance to create

  205. a new world after he had almost spoiled an old one. The Almighty seems

  206. purposely to have withheld that second chance until the time when men would most need

  207. and appreciate liberty. Ronald Reagan stated in nineteen sixty one, in this country

  208. of ours took place the greatest revolution that has ever taken place in the world

  209. history. In the world's history, every other revolution simply exchanged one set a

  210. ruler's for another. Here, for the first time, in all the thousands

  211. of years of man's relation to man, the Founding Fathers established the idea that

  212. you and I had within ourselves the God given right and ability to determine our

  213. own destiny. Donald Trump stated at July third, twenty twenty, each of

  214. you lives in the most magnificent country in the world. In the history of

  215. the world. Our founders launched not only a revolution in government, but a

  216. revolution in the pursuit of justice, equality, liberty, and prosperity. No

  217. nation has done more to advance the human condition than the United States of America,

  218. and no people have done more to promote human progress than the citizens of

  219. our great nation. It was all made possible by the courage of fifty six

  220. patriots who gathered in Philadelphia two hundred and forty four years ago and now today

  221. would be two hundred and forty seven years ago, and signed the Declaration of

  222. Independence. They enshrined a divine truth that changed the world forever when they said

  223. all men are created equal. Our founders boldly declared that we are all endowed

  224. with the same divine rights given to us by our creator in Heaven, and

  225. that which God has given us, we will allow no one ever to take

  226. away. Ever, he continued, and yet there is a growing danger that

  227. threatens every blessing our ancestors fought so hard for, struggled they bled to secure.

  228. Our nation is witnessing a merciless campaign to wipe out our history, defame

  229. our heroes, erase our values, and indoctrinate our children. Angry mobs are

  230. trying to tear down statues of our founders, deface our most sacred memorials,

  231. and leash a wave of violent crime in our cities. Many of these people

  232. have no idea why they are doing this, but some know exactly what they

  233. are doing. One of their political weapons is cancel culture, driving people from

  234. their jobs, shaming dissenters, and demanding total submission from anyone who disagrees.

  235. This is the very definition of totalitarianism, and it is completely alien, completely

  236. alien to our culture and our values, and it absolutely has no place in

  237. the United States of America. And he said, we will expose this dangerous

  238. movement, protect our nation's children and this racial radical assault, and preserve our

  239. beloved American way of life in our schools, our newsrooms, even our corporate

  240. bedrooms. There is a new far left fascism that demands absolute allegiance. If

  241. you don't speak its language, perform its rituals, recite its mantras, and

  242. follow its commandments, then you will be censored, banished, blacklisted, persecuted,

  243. and punished. Make no mistake, This left wing cultural revolution is designed

  244. to overthrow the American Revolution. And so will I will just conclude here because

  245. his comments went on and on and on, wonderful comments, and so we

  246. want to preserve our nation, ladies and gentlemen, we must get on our

  247. knees and pray. We have one chance, one more chance, and that's

  248. coming up in November twenty twenty four. But don't wait till November of twenty

  249. twenty four. Start praying now. Well. Happy fourth of July, enjoy
