God Doesn't LIE Part 2

-
Good evening. Welcome to Voice in the Wilderness. I'm Don Noble of Pure
-
Heart Ministries, and I welcome you with exceedingly abundantly and overflowing joy. I
-
am really glad to be with you this evening because I have a message that
-
is very exciting to me. So I hope you feel the same way by
-
the time I'm finished. But this is part two of the title God Doesn't
-
Lie. Last week I shared from the Book of Numbers twenty three nineteen.
-
God is not a man that he should lie. Has he said and will
-
he not do? Or has he spoken? And will he not make it
-
good? If you have any doubt, and if you're a believer, you
-
shouldn't have any doubt. But if you have any doubt about what God says
-
in his word, this scripture Numbers twenty three nineteen seals the deal. God
-
cannot lie because he said of himself, Jesus said, I am the truth.
-
We read scriptures last week that tell us that God's word is pure.
-
I call it straight talk. You see, in God's word there's no mumbling
-
around about what is right and what is wrong. There's no going around the
-
mulberry bush. As they say, no God's word is straight talk. Amos,
-
a prophet in the Old Testament, Chapter seven, verses seven and eight,
-
say this, Thus he showed me. Behold, the Lord stood on
-
a wall made with a plum line, and with a plumb line in his
-
hand. And the Lord said to me, Amos, what do you see?
-
And I said, a plumb line. Then the Lord said, behold,
-
I am setting a plumb line in the midst of my people. I
-
will not pass by them anymore. Israel had built true plum to God's standard.
-
They started off fairly well, being true to God's ways, but they
-
got off course. God's word is a plumb line. It is the standard
-
for us to live by and to conduct our life. Now, a plumb
-
line is what rufers use, while what they used to use, they don't
-
ut use a plumb line anymore. They don't use what they call a chalk
-
line. They don't use that to well. I mean, they did use
-
it to make sure that the shingles on a house were in a straight line.
-
God's word acts like a plumbline in our life to keep us on the
-
narrow way. Amen, I'm going to be reading a lot of scripture tonight.
-
I hope you have your Bibles with you available. If you do,
-
please get them open, because I'm going to read a lot of scripture tonight.
-
I am reading out of the new King James version. So tonight's message
-
is to solidify in your mind that whatever God promises will come to pass,
-
and there is no confusion about that, there is no debate about that.
-
Turn with me to Genesis twelve. I shared this last week, but we're
-
going to use this again as part of the standard of what I'm sharing tonight.
-
So Genesis chapter twelve, verses one through three, these are the Lord's
-
promises to Abram, and it says, now the Lord had said to Abram,
-
get out of your country, from your family, and from your father's
-
house, to a land that I will show you. Now, Verses two
-
and three are very important. I will make you a great nation. I
-
will bless you and make your name great, and you shall be a blessing.
-
I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who
-
curses you, and in you, all the families of the earth shall be
-
blessed. Then I want us to look at Amos chapter three. I got
-
a fine mister Amos. Here Amos Chapter three, verses one and two.
-
Okay, hear this word that the Lord has spoken against you, o children
-
of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of
-
Egypt, saying you only have I known of all the families of the earth.
-
Let me say that again. This is the Lord speaking through the prophet
-
Amos. You only you only no other nation, no other country. But
-
you only have I known of all the families of the earth. God had
-
separated Abraham from his idolatrous family in order to make him and his descendants the
-
Messianic nation, which would bring salvation to all of Earth's families. We discussed
-
that a little last week. Then God said in Genesis twelve. Back to
-
Genesis twelve, verse seven said, the Lord appeared to Abram and said,
-
to your descendants, I will give this land. Now. In the previous
-
verses five and six, Abraham and Sarah came to the land of Canaan,
-
the Bible says, and they passed through the land to Shechem, and the
-
Canaan knights were there in the land. But in verse seven, God said,
-
I'm giving your descendants this land. Folks, this is a promise period
-
all right, Genesis. Just turn over a chapter Genesis thirteen. We're gonna
-
look at verses one through eighteen. Then Abram went up from Egypt, he
-
and his wife and all that he had, and Lot with him to the
-
south. Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.
-
And he went on his journey from the south as far as Bethel,
-
to the place where his tent had been at the beginning between Bethel and Ai,
-
to the place of the altar, which he had made there at first.
-
And there Abram called on the name of the lord. Lot. Also
-
who went with Abram had flocks and herds and tents. Now the land was
-
not able to support them, that they might dwell together, for their possessions
-
were so great that they could not dwelt together. And there was strife between
-
the herdsmen of Abram's livestock and the herdsmen of Lot's livestock. The Canaanites and
-
the Perizites then dwelt in the land. So Abram said to Lot, please,
-
let there be no strife between you and me, and between my herdsmen
-
and your herdsmen, for we are brethren. Is not the whole land before
-
you? Please separate from me. If you take the left, I will
-
go to the right, and if you go to the right, I will
-
go to the left. And Lot lifted his eyes and saw all the plain
-
of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere before the Lord destroyed Atom and
-
Gomorrah, like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt.
-
As you go toward Zor, then Lot chose for himself all the plane of
-
Jordan. And Lot journeyed east, and they separated from each other. Abram
-
dwelt in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelt in the cities of the
-
plain, and pitched his tent even as far as Sodom. But the men
-
of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful against the Lord. And the Lord said
-
to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, he said, this,
-
lift your eyes now, and look from the place where you are northward,
-
southward, eastward, and westward. For all the land which you see,
-
I give to you and your descendants forever. And I will make your descendants
-
as the dust of the earth, so that if if a man could number
-
the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered. A
-
rise walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give
-
it to you. Then Abram moved his tent and went and dwelt by the
-
terebinth trees of Mamarra, which are in Hebron, and built an altar there.
-
To the Lord, it can't be any clearer. The Lord says,
-
a rise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for
-
I give it to you. And he said, north, southeast and west,
-
all the land that you see, I give to you and your descendants
-
forever forever. That's a promise period. That set of scriptures right there clinches
-
it. Okay, just remember God said it's yours forever, and God doesn't
-
lie, and God doesn't change his mind. Now just turn over another page
-
to Genesis fifteen. We're going to look at verses eighteen through twenty one.
-
It says on the same day, the Lord made a covenant with Abram,
-
saying this to your descendants, I have given this land from the river of
-
Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates. The ken Nites, the
-
Kennesites, the Hadmonites, the Hittites, the Parizites, the refaem the Amorites,
-
the Canaanites, the Gergoshites and the Gebucites. So again the Lord is
-
enumerting this boundary, and he's telling Abram all the peoples, these all these
-
idolatrous peoples who are currently living in the land, in the land that the
-
Lord just told him in chapter thirteen, I'm giving you this land to you
-
and your descendants forever. And now he's showing them, he and his wife,
-
all of the actual peoples that are currently occupying this territory worry. And
-
this is now not just a promise. This is now a covenant. So
-
God doesn't break promises, and he surely doesn't break covenants. He is not
-
a covenant breaking God, period. So a covenant is made now, Uh,
-
Moses, God had made a covenant with Moses, but it wasn't He
-
didn't tell Moses this isn't everlasting covenant. As he tells Abraham. Turn over
-
another page or so to Genesis seventeen. We're going to read verses one through
-
nine. When Abram was ninety nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram
-
and said to him, I am Almighty God, walk before me and be
-
blameless, and I will make my covenant between me and you, and will
-
multiply you exceedingly. Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with
-
him, saying, as for me, behold, my covenant is with you,
-
and you shall be a father of many nations. No longer shall your
-
name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham. For I have
-
made you a father of many nations. Verse six. I will make you
-
it exceedingly fruitful. And I will make nations of you, and kings shall
-
come from you. And I will establish my covenant between me and you and
-
your descendants after you in their generations, for an ever lasting covenant to be
-
God to you and your descendants after you. So we see here right here
-
in verse seven, that God has established a covenant with Abraham, and he
-
says it's an ever lasting covenant. Does that sound like two thousand years later,
-
God's going to change his mind and revoke the covenant. I don't think.
-
So that's not how God works. Verse eight. Also, I will
-
give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a
-
stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession. And I
-
will be their God. And God said to Abraham, as for you,
-
you shall keep my covenant you and your descendants after you, throughout their generations.
-
What does that mean. I think it's pretty clear throughout means for whenever
-
we're talking twenty twenty three. Yeah, this still pertains to the people of
-
Israel. God made a covenant with these people, an ever lasting and he
-
said the land. That's what this whole squabble was about. The land.
-
The land is an everlasting possession to you and your descendants forever. That's as
-
clear as it gets. So every time some president of the United States or
-
other leaders of a nation say we're going to divide Israel and we're going to
-
come up with a two state solution. Sorry, that ain't happening. You
-
can't do that. But if you do, if you try and you think
-
that you succeed, there will be consequences. Turn with me to the Book
-
of Deuteronomy. I told you there were gonna be a lot of scriptures this
-
evening. Deuteronomy, chapter eight. Okay, we're going to look at verses
-
one through twenty, and then we're gonna go slide right into chapter nine,
-
verses one through three. Now, the Lord here, he's commanding the people,
-
through their leader Moses, to go in and possess the land. So
-
this is Moses talking to the people, as the Lord has spoken to Moses.
-
So we start in verse one, chapter eight of Deuteronomy. Every commandment
-
which I commend you today, you must be careful to observe that you may
-
live and will to apply and go in and possess the land of which the
-
Lord swore to your father's. And you shall remember that the Lord your God
-
led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness to humble you and
-
test you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his
-
commandments or not. So he humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and
-
fed you with mana which you did not know, nor did your fathers know
-
that he might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone,
-
but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.
-
Verse four. Your garments did not wear out on you, nor did your
-
foot swell these forty years. You should know in your heart that as a
-
man chastens you his son, so the Lord your God chasened you. Therefore
-
you shall keep the commandments of the Lords your God, to walk in his
-
ways and to fear him. For the Lord your God is bringing you into
-
a good land, A land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs
-
that flow out of valleys and hills. Oh, a land of wheat and
-
barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, A land of olive oil
-
and honey. A land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in
-
which you will lack nothing, A land whose stones are iron, and out
-
of whose hills you can dig copper. When you have eaten and are full,
-
then you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land which he
-
has given you. Beware that you do not forget the Lords your God by
-
not keeping his commandments, his judgments, and his statutes which I command you
-
today. Lest when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful
-
houses and dwell in them, And when your herds and your flocks multiply,
-
and your silver and your gold are multiplied, and all that you have is
-
multiplied, when your heart is lifted up, and you forget the Lord your
-
God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house
-
of Bondage, who led you through that great and terrible wilderness in which were
-
fiery serpents, and scorpions, and thirsty land where there was no water,
-
Who brought water for you out of the flinty rock, Who fed you in
-
the wilderness with manna which your fathers did not know, that he might humble
-
you, and that he might test you to do you good in the end.
-
Then you say in your heart, my power and the might of my
-
hand have gained me this wealth. And you shall remember the Lord your God,
-
for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he
-
may establish his covenant which he swore to your father's, as it is this
-
day, as the nations which the Lord destroys before you, so you shall
-
perish, because you would not be obedient to the voice of the Lord your
-
God. Here, oh Israel, you are to cross over the Jordan today
-
and go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourself, cities great and
-
fortified up to heaven, a people great and tall, the descendants of the
-
anakom whom you know and of whom you have heard it said, who can
-
stand before the descendants of anak Therefore, understand today that the Lord your God
-
is he who goes over before you as a consuming fire. He will destroy
-
them and bring them down before you. So you shall drive them out and
-
destroy them quickly, as the Lord has said to you. Oh well,
-
the next transition is in the book of Joshua, so we want to turn
-
there real quick. And Joshua chapter one. After the death of Moses,
-
the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to
-
Joshua, the son of None, Moses's assistant, saying, Moses, my
-
servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and
-
all this people, to the land which I'm giving to them, the children
-
of Israel, every place that the soul of your foot will tread upon.
-
I have given you, as I said to Moses, from the wilderness and
-
this Lebanon, as far as the great River, the River Euphrates, and
-
all the land of the Hittites, and to the great sea toward the going
-
down of the sun, shall be your territory. No man shall be able
-
to stand before you all the days of your life, as I was with
-
Moses. So I will be with you, and I will not leave you
-
nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage. For this people you
-
shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to your fathers to give
-
them. And lastly turned to the book of Zachariah. It is the almost
-
the last book of the Old Testament, Zachariah eight and verses one through eight.
-
Again the word of the Lord of Host came, saying through the prophet
-
Zachariah. Thus, as the Lord of Host, I am zealous for Zion,
-
with great zeal, with great fervor. I am zealous for her,
-
Thus says the Lord. I will return to Zion and dwell in the midst
-
of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth, the Mountain of
-
the Lord of Hosts, the Holy Mountain, Thus says the Lord of Hosts.
-
Old men and old woman shall again sit in the streets of Jerusalem,
-
each one with his staff in his hand, because of great age. The
-
streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets,
-
thus says the Lord of Host. It if if it is marvelous in
-
the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, will it also
-
be marvelous in my eyes, says the Lord of Host. Thus says the
-
Lord of Host, Behold, I will save my people from the land of
-
the East, and from the land of the West. I will bring them
-
back, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. They shall be
-
my people. I will be their God in truth and righteousness. Zachariah two
-
eight says this. For thus says the Lord of Hosts, he sent me
-
after glory to the nations which plunder you. For he who touches you touches
-
the apple of his eye. And let me say this, to touch the
-
apple of God's eye means to stick a finger in the pupil of his eye.
-
So whenever anyone or any nation touches the people of God, including and
-
especially Israel, it is actually a blasphemous assault against God him self. God
-
has chosen Jerusalem, and as I said several weeks ago, it will be
-
the capital one day of the whole entire world. So today, Father,
-
we bless the people of Israel. We thank you for divine protection over each
-
and every one. We thank you for divine protection over the idf and we
-
thank you Father for giving them strategy, wisdom, divine capabilities to defeat their
-
enemy. We bless those who are hurting. We ask you, as the
-
God of Comfort, to comfort their hearts, those who have lost them loved
-
ones, those who are missing their loved ones because of the hostages taken.
-
Lord, we ask for a divine turn around as quickly as possible in the
-
Mighty name of Jesus, Amen and a men. It help you understand and
-
know what God's word says about the Nation of Israel and its people. Amen.
