Good evening. Welcome to Voice in the Wilderness. I'm Don Noble of Pure
-
Heart Ministries, and I welcome you today with exceedingly abundantly and overflowing joy.
-
Tonight's message the Road to Freedom. I've decided to finish out the month of
-
July with a series that I'm calling The Road to Freedom. And you see,
-
as I was driving to the radio station today, the Lord actually changed
-
the message I had for today. So there must be someone out there who
-
needs to hear what the Lord has been speaking to me in the last hour.
-
I feel this message is mainly for men, but it could also be
-
for women, so here it is. Sometimes the wealthiest people are the ones
-
in the most bondage. Money can't buy joy, peace or contentment. These
-
people, whose hearts are empty and their lives are always looking for the next
-
greatest thing to fill the empty the empty hole. It's a hole that never
-
gets filled. Material things are just that, they are things, things that
-
have no eternal value. Maybe that's you. You don't even listen to this
-
station, You're not even a Christian, but today you turned here, and
-
God wants to bring freedom to your life. The Bible says sin is pleasurable
-
for a season, but its reward is death. What profits a man or
-
what profits a woman? If they gain the whole world that they have achieved
-
all the material success and power this world has to offer, and they lose
-
their own soul. Are you in danger of losing your soul? If you
-
are, please continue to listen. You may be a truck driver or a
-
salesperson who is on the road a lot, and you think it's okay to
-
have sex with another woman even though you're married. You know, I had
-
a salesman I would say this was probably I don't know, eight ten years
-
ago, and he told me that most men on the road every week think
-
nothing of committing adultery. That the majority do. It's a habit. They
-
have a few drinks at the bar, and the enemy of their soul sets
-
them up. There's a lady sitting right down the way there and she's waiting,
-
and before you know it, after a couple more drinks away they go
-
back to his room. I want you to listen carefully to me, because
-
I'm going to read too scripture out of the Bible. And you know,
-
sometimes when I read these scriptures, I think, wow, it's hard to
-
believe this is in the Bible. But it is so. This is Proverbs
-
five one through twenty three. And if you are a believer, it would
-
behoove you to pay attention to these scriptures as well. This is Solomon,
-
the writer of Proverbs, and he says, my son, pay attention to
-
my wisdom. Lend your ear to my understanding, that you may preserve discretion,
-
and your lips may keep knowledge. For the lips of an immoral woman
-
drip honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil. But in the end
-
she is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two edged sword. Her feet
-
go down to death. Her steps lay hold of hell lest you ponder her
-
path of life. Her ways are unstable. You do not know them.
-
Therefore hear me now, my children, and do not depart from the words
-
of my mouth. Remove your way far from her, and do not go
-
near the door of her house, lest you give your honor to others and
-
your years to the cruel one. Lest aliens be filled with your wealth and
-
your labors. Go to the house of a foreigner, and you mourn at
-
last when your flesh and your body are consumed. And say, how I
-
hated instruction and my heart despised correction. I have not obeyed the voice of
-
my teachers, nor inclined my ear to those who instructed me. I was
-
on the verge of total ruin in the midst of the assembly and congregation.
-
Drink water from your own cistern and running water from your own well. Should
-
your fountains be dispersed abroad, streams of waters, streams of water in the
-
streets, Let them be only your own, and not for strangers. With
-
you. Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice with the wife of your
-
youth as a loving deer and a graceful dough. Let her breasts satisfy you
-
at all times, and always be enraptured with her love. Or why should
-
you, my son, be enraptured by an immoral woman and be embraced in
-
the arms of a seductress. For the ways of man are before the eyes
-
of the Lord, and he ponders all his paths. His own iniquities entrap
-
the wicked man, and he is caught in the chords of his sin.
-
He shall die for lack of instruction, and in the greatness of his folly
-
he shall go astray. One of the most important scriptures in that whole chapter.
-
Chapter five of Proverbs is the ways of a man or woman are before
-
the eyes of the Lord. Verse twenty one. You he sees you in
-
bed with another woman, he sees you in bed with another man. You
-
can hide from your spouse for so long, but be assured you cannot hide
-
from God. The Bible says, there's a way that seems good to a
-
man, but its way is destruction. So I'm just speaking to you,
-
plain and simple. Come out of that bondage. Now repent, ask the
-
Lord to forgive you, ask him to set you free. Receive him as
-
your savior. If you don't know him, you could be a Christian man.
-
Believe it or not. There are many Christian men out there committing adultery.
-
Oh. I know you find it hard to believe, but trust me,
-
the Church is full of them. So ask the Lord to set you
-
free. And if you don't know Jesus, take a moment, call on
-
his name, Invite him into your heart, give your life to him.
-
He will set your feet upon the rock, and he'll turn your life around,
-
and you will be on the road to freedom. Let me go on
-
to Proverbs chapter six, verses twenty through thirty five, My son, keep
-
your father's command, and do not forsake the law of your mother. Bind
-
them continually upon your heart, Tie them around your neck. When you roam,
-
they will lead you, and when you sleep they will and when you
-
awake they will speak with you. For the commandment is a lamp, and
-
the law alight. Reproofs of instruction are the way of life. To keep
-
you from the evil woman, from the flattering tongue of a seductress, Do
-
not lust after her beauty in your heart, nor let her allure you with
-
her eyelids. For by means of a harlot, a man is reduced to
-
a crust of bread, and an adulteress will prey upon his precious life.
-
Can a man take fire to his bosom and his clothes not be burned?
-
Can one walk on hot coals and his feet not be seared? So is
-
he who goes into his neighbor's wife, who touches her shall not be innocent.
-
People do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he
-
is starving. Yet when he is found he must restore sevenfold. He may
-
have to give up all the substance of his house. Whoever commits adultery with
-
a woman lacks understanding. He who does so destroys his own soul wounds and
-
dishonor he will get and his reproach will not be wiped away. For jealousy
-
is a husband's fury. Therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.
-
He will accept no recompense, nor will he be appeased through nor nor
-
will he be appeased though you give many gifts, this is very strong language,
-
to say the least, and Solomon's wisdom here. I mean he's saying,
-
look, this adulteress is going to pray on your precious life. You
-
know if you go in to your neighbor's wife, whoever touches her is not
-
going to be innocent. There is a price to pay. Stay away from
-
the flattering tongue of a seductress. Don't lust after the beauty in your heart.
-
Don't let her allure you into bed, because there's a heavy price to
-
pay. The scripture says here in verse thirty two, he who does so
-
destroys his own soul wounds and dishonor he will get. So if your wife
-
does find out and you don't want to lose your marriage. You have just
-
set yourself in a miserable situation, miserable and who knows how that outcome make.
-
Maybe it may not go well for you. But the point is this,
-
if you're especially if you're a Christian man, you need to get your
-
life right. You need to stop this behavior. This is sin, This
-
is sin. Adultery is sin. Stop it now. Boy, I'm telling
-
you, there has to be somebody that's listening to me, because I'm telling
-
you this is so strong in my spirit. There is somebody out there.
-
And you have been committing adultery for some time, thinking that you can get
-
away with it, thinking it's okay, thinking nobody sees. Nobody knows.
-
But God sees. He says, for the ways of man are before the
-
eyes of the Lord. He knows exactly what you're doing. He sees you
-
in bed with that person. You cannot hide from God. It is not
-
gonna go well for you. So if I were you, I'd repent now,
-
I'd ask for God's forgiveness. Now, I would do a one eighty.
-
Because God is merciful. If you repent, if you ask forgiveness,
-
he will forgive you, and he can turn your life around it. As
-
I said earlier, if you don't even know Jesus, you can know him
-
now. You can call on the name of Jesus. The Bible says,
-
if you call on his name, you shall be saved. Just cry out
-
to him and tell him. Look, I've done this horrible thing. I
-
have really done something bad. Please forgive me. Now. I want to
-
share in Proverbs seven, and I want to say this. Let me just
-
stop for a moment. We've got chapter five of Proverbs. We've got chapter
-
six of Proverbs. We've got chapter seven of Proverbs. And I'm going to
-
read to you out of Proverbs chapter nine. So this must be a real
-
problem, because Solomon writes about it in all these chapters. Must be a
-
big deal, must be common. So let's see what Proverbs seven, verses
-
six through twenty seventh say. It says, for at the window of my
-
house, I looked through my lattice, and I saw among the simple,
-
I perceived among the use a young man devoid of understanding, passing along the
-
street near her corner. He took the path to her house in the twilight,
-
in the evening, in the black and dark night, and there a
-
woman met him with the attire of a harlot and a crafty heart. She
-
was loud and rebellious. Her feet would not stay at home, and at
-
times she was outside, at times in the open square, lurking at every
-
corner. So she caught him and kissed him, and with an impudent face,
-
she said to him, I have peace offerings with me today. I
-
have paid my vows, so I came out to meet you diligently to seek
-
your face, and I have found you. I have spread my bed with
-
tapestry colored coverings of Egyptian linen, and I've perfumed my bed with murrh,
-
aloes and cinnamon. Come, let us take our fill of love until morning.
-
Let us delight ourselves with love. For my husband is not at home.
-
He has gone on a long journey. He has taken a bag of
-
money with him, and he will come home on the appointed day. With
-
her enticing speech, she caused him to yield. With her flattering lips.
-
She seduced him. Immediately he went after her, as an ox goes to
-
the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stalks, till
-
an arrow struck his liver as a bird hastens to the snare. He did
-
not know it would cost his life. Now, therefore, listen to me,
-
my children, pay attention to the words of my mouth. Do not
-
let your heart turn aside to her ways. Do not stray into her paths.
-
For she has cast down many wounded, and all who were slain by
-
her were strong men. Her house is the way to hell, decend into
-
the chambers of death. Well, I can tell you, you know,
-
I almost it almost feels like I'm not reading out of the Bible. But
-
this is in the Bible. And if you are one of these men,
-
or if you are the seductress, maybe you're a woman and you're the one
-
seducing the man, let me tell you who. See what it says with
-
her flattering lips, she seduced him, and immediately immediately he went after her
-
as an ox goes to the slaughter. He did not know it would cost
-
his life. This is so serious. Pay attention to the words of my
-
mouth, Solomon says, And don't turn your heart aside to her way.
-
All listen to this. Listen carefully. All who were slain by her were
-
strong men. So Christian man out there listening to me. You thought you
-
were strong in the Lord, but you put yourself in harm's way. You
-
allowed yourself, you allowed yourself to be enticed. You put yourself in certain
-
situations that you shouldn't have. You should have guarded your heart, you should
-
have guarded your ways, and you should never hear me now, you should
-
never have been at a bar if you're a Christian man. Never. So
-
if you did, you just opened it wide open for the enemy to come.
-
She took down strong men, not weak men. Strong men. Come
-
on, I'm talking to somebody I know I am listen to Proverbs, chapter
-
nine, thirteen through eighteen. A foolish woman is clamorous. She is simple
-
and knows clothing. For she sits at the door of her house, on
-
a seat by the highest places of the city, to call to those who
-
pass by, who go straight on their way. Whoever is simple naive,
-
let him turn in here. As for him who lacks understanding, she says
-
to him, stolen water is sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.
-
But he does not know that the dead are there, that her guests
-
are in the depths of hell. So the Bible says it, I'll say
-
it you keep in gaging in that kind of affair, and you will go
-
straight to hell, Straight to hell. Don't tell me you're a Christian,
-
you're born again, YadA, YadA, YadA. I don't want to hear
-
about once saved, always saved. No, you keep on committing adultery and
-
there is no repentance and there's no change. You're going straight to hell.
-
So I want to share a wonderful story to kind of bring this all to
-
an end. I was a camp meeting, church camp meeting all week,
-
probably in church, twelve hours a day, every day, wonderful, exciting,
-
and I sitting next to a guy, and I love meeting new people.
-
And so whoever's sitting by me, if I don't know them, I
-
introduced myself. We start talking and I meet a man, a man who
-
what I would say was in his early fifties, and he was a truck
-
driver from Illinois. I'll call him Fred. And he told me that his
-
life, he'd only been saved let's say four years, maybe less, maybe
-
less than that, and prior to that, he said he led the most
-
immoral life. He said, I was a womanizer, I was a drunkard.
-
I did drugs, I sold drugs. He said, there wasn't any
-
sin that he did engage inography, I mean the whole kitten kaboodle. And
-
I said, well, goodness, how did you come out of that?
-
And interestingly, a friend invited him to church, and he realized that his
-
life was just spiraling down, downward down, and that, you know,
-
he saw himself on the road to hell. So he went to this little
-
church and lo and behold, it happened to be the church that his grandmother
-
had taken him too when he was a little boy. How about that he
-
got saved. He came up to the altar, got saved, and he
-
said radically saved. And I said, what's that mean? He said instantly,
-
instantly, I never drank another drop of alcohol, and never took another
-
drug, and never slept with another woman. WHOA wow. And so he's
-
married to the gal uh, the last lady that he was with. He
-
married beautiful lady. I met her as well. And they just bought a
-
church that was empty, that was on the market for ninety thousand dollars and
-
they got it for ten thousand dollars. They are turning it into a house
-
for battered women. How I tell you. Only God can do something like
-
that. Only God can take a life of a human being that's so messed
-
up. See, his wife was doing drugs and alcohol too, so she
-
was just as messed up as he was. But God just I mean,
-
he snatched these people right out of hill and he turned their life on a
-
dime. He set their feet on the rock, and it was amazing.
-
It was amazing. He told me. He started listening as he was driving
-
the truck across the country, and you know, he started listening to all
-
these preachers constantly, as all he allowed himself to listen to. He said,
-
I haven't how about this, he said, I haven't listened to any
-
music other than Christian music from the day I got saved, never listen to
-
anything other than Christian music. Now, this is what I call a radical
-
salvation. This is what I call a man committed to the cause of Christ.
-
I tell you, I had the most enjoyable conversation with him, and
-
then his wife came and sat down and I got to talk to her.
-
And so the point is this your life. If you are the man or
-
you are the woman that I've been talking about in Proverbs chapter five, chapter
-
six, Chapter seven, chapter nine. If you're that person, God can
-
turn you around that quick in an ananosecond. So I'm just encouraging you to
-
call on the name of the Lord. And if you're a Christian man,
-
please, for the sake of your wife, for the sake of your family,
-
repent and stop doing what you're doing. Because you are headed to hell,
-
my friend, and you're headed there very quickly. Your life could end
-
tomorrow and you would be in Hell. So I'm trying to warn you individuals.
-
I'm trying to warn you men. I'm trying to warn you women.
-
Get on the road to freedom. It is. It is a great life.
-
I'll tell you. If you could meet Fred and his wife, if
-
you could hear him tell you his testimony. Maybe I'll get him on the
-
radio sometime. I'm telling you it's so powerful what God can do. Amen.
