Good evening. Welcome to Voice in the Wilderness. I'm Don
-
Noble of Pure Heart Ministries, and I welcome you today
-
with exceedingly abundantly and overflowing joy, joy, joy, joy, joy, unspeakable. Amen. Well,
-
it is good to be with you this evening. A
-
couple of announcements I want to make that I have
-
encouraged those who live in the valley over and over
-
to come to my Bible study. Now beginning in September,
-
we are going to be actually I am going to
-
be teaching the Book of Romans, the entire Book of Romans.
-
Oh my, yes, Paul's greatest masterpiece. But you'll understand if
-
you come to the Bible study why the Book of
-
Romans is going to be so vital for you to
-
learn and understand because of what's coming down the road
-
now next Monday, which would be August the twelfth. Please
-
don't miss that broadcast. Please don't miss that broadcast. I
-
have something extremely important to share with you that actually
-
has to do with what is going on right now
-
in the world. And of course I'm going to be
-
sharing scripture as always, so I don't want you to
-
miss that broadcast. But for those of you who actually
-
live physically in the Ohio Valley. I'm inviting you please
-
come to my Bible study. I'm telling you some of you,
-
you who live in this area don't even go to
-
a Bible study. And those of you who do go
-
to a Bible study, I'm not sure what you learn.
-
But I teach the Word. And when I teach the
-
Book of Romans, it will be exa Jesus, we will take.
-
We will rip it apart, line by line, precept by precept. Amen.
-
So I want to encourage you to mark your calendar
-
for the beginning of September, and I'll be reminding you
-
of that. Now. I am going to actually finish the
-
Road to Freedom tonight, and I've subtitled it Remove Your
-
No Now the reason I'm I didn't finish it last
-
week and I really felt like the topic of obedience
-
is so important, It's so so important that I wanted
-
to complete it, which I will hope to do tonight.
-
Now you know how things go. I move by the spirit.
-
I am not I am not legalistic in the least
-
and so if I get to the topic and the
-
Lord gives me more stuff, just right off the cuff,
-
right out of my spirit, you know, so trust me.
-
I'm trying to finish this topic tonight, but who knows. Okay. Now,
-
last week we looked at numbers thirteen one through three
-
and sixteen through thirty three and chapter fourteen of the
-
Book of Numbers one through ten. And that story is
-
a story that if you're a Christian, should be extremely
-
familiar with. It's about the command to Moses from the
-
Lord to go in and take the Promised Land. Why.
-
Because it's a good land, the Lord said, And he
-
said it's the land of milk and honey, and he
-
was giving it to them. So Moses reiterated that story
-
to the leaders and told them that they must go
-
in and check out the land, and he gave them
-
specific instructions which they were to follow. Again, we're talking
-
about the topic of obedience. So when your leader gives
-
you instructions, you are to follow those instructions, amen. And
-
Moses gave them clear instructions what they were supposed to
-
do when they got there. They were to They used
-
the word spy, but you could use the word check
-
it out. They were to check out the people, were
-
they weak people or strong people. They were to check
-
out the cities. Were they fortified or were they just
-
like you know, little villages that would be easy to
-
take over. And yes, indeed they fulfilled that part of
-
the instruction. But where they failed, biggest failure was in
-
not believing God's words. So they were not obedient to
-
the word of the Lord. Because what did they come
-
back with? Ten of them, ten of the twelve came
-
back with a really bad report. Now, in the natural
-
what they were saying was accurate. Oh, the people are
-
like giant, Yes, they were from the lineage of Anak,
-
They were large people. Yes, the cities were fortified. They
-
were correct. But see that's the natural realm. So they
-
saw with their natural realm. But they refused, and this
-
is where it gets Harry. They refused to believe the
-
word of the Lord. So it really didn't matter that
-
the cities were fortified, that the people were giants and
-
they were like grasshoppers, didn't matter. God promised them the land.
-
All they had to do was go in and take it.
-
And then Caleb, one of the two he and Joshua,
-
who said no, let's go right now, let's go in
-
and possess the land that people wanted to stone them
-
literally stone them to death, not just throw a few
-
stones at them. Stoning back then was to death. They
-
would have killed Joshua and Caleb in whom God said
-
there was an excellent spirit. Think about that for a minute.
-
These are God's people who want to stone two righteous
-
men who are speaking the truth, who are incredible men,
-
and ended up being the only two out of all
-
of those men to make it into the Promised Land
-
because the rest died in the wilderness. So see, you
-
have to think about these stories when you read them.
-
You have to think about these are God's people. These
-
are people of God who want to stone, literally kill
-
two men. So that's what disobedience does. It allows rebellion
-
in and then rebellion is like witchcraft. The Bible said.
-
We read that last week. And for Samuel and the
-
other story I shared with you was the story of
-
Samuel the Prophet and Saul the King, and the directive
-
that was given to Saul by the Lord was to
-
kill all of the Agagites, including the king, women, children,
-
all the animals. But Saul didn't do that. He disobeyed.
-
He was while this dude was something. He actually told
-
the prophet that he believed that he fulfilled the mission.
-
When he turned around, in his own same words, said no,
-
always spare the king, and we spared some of the
-
good animals. And when the prophet asked him why, he said, oh,
-
the people. The people. He blamed the people. The people
-
said we have to do this. Saul was absolutely so
-
disobedient to God's directive that the prophet told him, right
-
then and there, your kingdom is done. The Lord has
-
torn it away from you. So disobedience, and you've got
-
to get this in your spirit, in your heart, in
-
your mind. You've got to get this. When you are
-
disobedient to the Lord, you will pay a very heavy price,
-
and you will bring a curse on your life. It
-
is the there's no way around this. You're either gonna
-
be obedient to what he tells you to do, or
-
you're gonna be disobedient. If you're obedient, you are gonna
-
get the blessing of a lifetime, and if you're disobedient,
-
you're gonna get the curse of a lifetime. It's your choice.
-
You have a will. What do you want to do?
-
You know, it's just like let's say you're in school.
-
You're sitting in a classroom, you're in seventh grade, and
-
the teacher says, open your books to page sixty four.
-
Now we're gonna look at these problems, these mathematical problems,
-
and I want you to figure out which one is
-
the most difficult. We're going to work on that problem.
-
And this is what you do. You go, I'm not
-
gonna do that, and you just keep your book closed.
-
You won't even open your book to the page that
-
the teacher asked you to. So you have this willful
-
disobedient and really what it is is rebellion, this rebellious spirit,
-
and it's not going to go well for you. So see,
-
in the natural realm, it doesn't go well for you,
-
and I assure you, in the spiritual realm, it never
-
goes well for you. Now I'm going to share another story.
-
This story you're probably not familiar with. Very few people
-
read the Book of Zachariah, but if you have your Bibles,
-
I'm reading out of the New King James version specifically,
-
and we're in Zachariah, which is in the Old Testament,
-
for those of you that don't know where Zachariah is
-
Old Testament, Old Testament Prophet. We're at chapter seven and
-
we're going to be looking at verses one through fourteen,
-
all right. Verse one, Now, in the fourth year of
-
King Darius, it came to pass that the word of
-
the Lord came to Zachariah on the fourth day of
-
the ninth month Chislev, when the people sent Shirazer with
-
Rege and Melk and his men to the House of
-
God to pray before the Lord. Now those names are
-
obviously Hebrew names. I may not have pronounced them correctly.
-
But two men, Shireza and Rega and Melic are sent
-
to the House of God to pray before the Lord.
-
Verse three. And they are to ask the priests who
-
were in the house of the Lord of host and
-
the prophets, sang, should I weep in the fifth month
-
and fast as I have done for so many years.
-
So they're asking a question to the priests and prophets,
-
should they weep and should they fast as they have
-
done for so many years? Verse four. Then the word
-
of the Lord of Hosts came to me, Zachariah, sang,
-
say to all the people of the land and to
-
the priests, when you fasted and mourned in the fifth
-
and seventh months during those seventy years? Did you really
-
fast for me? For me? See, that's the Lord saying
-
this through Zachariah, and he sang to them, did you
-
really fast for me? Me? Capitalized me the Lord? Did
-
you really fast for the Lord those seventy years? When
-
you eat and when you drink, do you not eat
-
and drink for yourselves? Should you not have obeyed the
-
words of the Lord proclaimed through the former prophets when
-
Jerusalem and the cities around it were inhabited and prosperous,
-
and the south and the lowland were inhabited. Now, what's
-
he talking about there? He's talking about when he says
-
former prophets, who was the prophet that carried on with
-
the people and warned them, if you don't turn from
-
your wicked ways, you're going into captivity for seventy years?
-
And they blew him off at every time, every turn. Jeremiah.
-
Jeremiah is called the weeping Prophet because he wept for
-
these people, because they were so hardened in their hearts,
-
they were so rebellious, and he did everything he could
-
to get these people to not go into captivity, but
-
they refused to listen. Oh, there's that word disobedience. They
-
were disobedient to the word of the Lord. They did
-
what they wanted. Ah, So they went into captivity seventy years.
-
So he's saying here in verse seven, should you not
-
have obeyed the words of the Lord proclaimed through the
-
former prophets when Jerusalem and the cities around it were inhabited, Ah, Yeah,
-
and prosperous, and the south and the lowland were inhabited h.
-
Verse eight. Then the word of the Lord came to Zachariah, saying,
-
Now this is the Lord speaking. Thus says the Lord
-
of Hosts, execute true justice, show mercy and compassion. Everyone
-
to his brother. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless,
-
the orphan, the alien, or the poor. Let none of
-
you plan evil in his heart against his brother. But
-
they refused to heed, shrugged their shoulders and stopped their
-
ears so that they could not hear. Now, just take
-
a moment and imagine that picture in your mind. Can
-
you see people putting fingers in their ears, stomping up
-
their ears, and shrugging their shoulders, and just like, go away.
-
I am not gonna listen to what you have to say.
-
I am not gonna execute true justice. I'm not gonna
-
show mercy and compassion to anyone I am. I'm gonna
-
continue to oppress the widow, and the alien, and the
-
poor and the orphan. Can you imagine? So what a
-
crazy thing, right? They refused to heed, shrugged their shoulders,
-
and stopped their ears so they could not hear. Yes,
-
they made their hearts like flint, refusing to hear the
-
law and the words which the Lord of Hosts had
-
sent by his spirit through the former prophets. Thus great wrath,
-
Great wrath came from the Lord of Hosts. Therefore it
-
happened that just as he proclaimed, and they would not hear.
-
So they called out, and the Lord said, I would
-
not listen. I would not listen. But I scattered them
-
with a whirlwind among all the nations which they had
-
not known. Thus the land became desolate after them, so
-
that no one passed through or returned, For they made
-
the pleasant land desolate. Man, I'm telling you it is
-
a bad thing. It is a bad thing to be
-
disobedient to the Lord. I mean, that's why you need
-
to remove your no when he tells you to go
-
make amends with your neighbor who is sent to Christian
-
who uh you know their dog went to the bathroom
-
in your yard and you didn't like it. Remove your no,
-
don't say don't get rebellious. I don't have to do that.
-
Why should I have to do that? No, Remove your no,
-
and say yes, yes, Lord, because you told me to
-
live in peace with all men, all people, and I
-
want to I want to bring that person to Christ.
-
You see, when you say no, you're going to reap
-
the wrath. You're going to reap the wrath. That's the
-
way it goes. These people simply refused. I mean, I
-
can just imagine in that picture in my mind, these
-
people just so rebellious, so disob obedient. Putting their fingers
-
in their ears just makes me makes me want to
-
smack them. Man o, man, So do you see how
-
disobedience is just really it's a problem. You don't want
-
to go there if the Lord tells you to, you know,
-
I mean, the word tells you honor your mother and father.
-
I don't care how old you are. You could be
-
sixty years old. The word says honor your mother and father.
-
If you don't honor your mother and father, then you
-
are being disobedient. You are not being obedient to the word,
-
and the Word says, if you honor your mother and father,
-
you will have long life. So hey, there's an easy,
-
really easy way to shorten your life, right, very easy.
-
Just dishonor them, totally dishonor your parents. Maybe you're not
-
gonna have long life. And then you might say, oh,
-
but you don't know what my parents did to me.
-
They abused me, they got me hooked on drugs, they
-
did all these bad things. Yeah, you know, sometimes we
-
parents are. You get a bad set of parents, But
-
if you're a Christian, you forgive them. You understand that
-
when people don't have Jesus, they can do some pretty
-
bad things. Right, Parents that don't have Jesus can do
-
some pretty bad things. But we walk in forgiveness, and
-
that's another part of obedience. Maybe you haven't forgiven them.
-
Maybe that's why you can't honor them, because you haven't
-
forgiven them. And forgiveness is part of being obedient, because
-
the Word says that we're to forgive regardless of what
-
has been done to us, regardless of what has been
-
said about us. So obedience obedience. Turn to I think
-
I probably will get to finish. Turn to Deuteronomy, Old
-
Testament and we're going to look at chapter twenty eight
-
to begin with, and if I have time, I'll flip
-
over into thirty Deuteronomy twenty eight, verse one. Now it
-
shall come to pass if you diligently obey the voice
-
of the Lord's your God. Now this is Moses telling
-
the people of Israel, because the Lord has given him
-
the commandments. Now he's giving these commandments to the people.
-
Now it shall come to pass if you diligence, diligently
-
obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe
-
carefully all his commandments, which I command you today, that
-
the Lord your God, here's what's going to happen, will
-
set you high above all the nations of the earth.
-
And that was a great thing that was going to
-
happen to these people. And he said, and all these
-
blessings shall come upon you, and the blessings will overtake
-
you because you obey the voice of the Lord your God.
-
Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall
-
you be in the country. Blessed shall be the fruit
-
of your body, the produce of your ground, and the
-
increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle, and
-
the offspring of your flocks. Blessed shall be your basket
-
and your kneading bowl. Blessed shall you be when you
-
come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.
-
The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you
-
to be defeated by your face. They shall come out
-
against you one way and flee before you seven ways.
-
The Lord will command the blessing on you in your
-
storehouses and an all to which you set your hand,
-
and he will bless you in the land which the
-
Lord your God is giving you. The Lord will establish
-
you as a holy people to himself, just as he
-
has sworn to you. If you keep the commandments of
-
the Lord your God and walk in his ways, then
-
all the peoples of the earth shall see that you
-
are called by the name of the Lord, and they
-
shall be afraid of you. And the Lord will grant
-
you plenty of goods in the fruit of your body,
-
in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce
-
of your ground. In the land of which the Lord
-
swore to your fathers to give you. Then the Lord
-
will open to you his good treasure the heavens to
-
give the rein to your land. In its season, and
-
to bless all the work of your hand. You shall
-
lend to many nations, but you shall not ber, and
-
the Lord will make you the head and not the tail.
-
You shall be above and only, and not beneath. If
-
if you heed the commandments of the Lords your God,
-
which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.
-
But it shall come to pass if you do not
-
obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe
-
carefully all his commandments and his statues which I command
-
you today, that all these curses will come upon you
-
and ever take you. Cursed you'll be in the city,
-
and curse you'll be in the country. Curse shall be
-
your basket and your kneading bull. Curse shall be the
-
fruit of your body, and the produce of your land,
-
the increase of your cattle on the offspring of your flocks.
-
Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed
-
shall you be when you go out. The Lord will
-
send on you cursing, confusion, and rebuke in all that
-
you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed,
-
and until you perish quickly, because the wickedness of your
-
doings in which you have forsaken me the Lord. The
-
Lord will make the plague cling to you until he
-
has consumed you from the land which you are going
-
to possess. The Lord will strike you with consumption, with fever,
-
with inflammation, with severe burning fever, with the sword, with scorching,
-
and with mildew. They shall pursue you until you perish.
-
And your heavens which are over your head shall be bronze,
-
and the earth which is under you shall be iron.
-
The Lord will change the rein of your land to
-
powder and dust from the heaven. It shall come down
-
on you until you're destroyed. The Lord will cause you
-
to be defeated before your enemies, and you shall go
-
out one way against them, and you will flee seven
-
ways before them, and you shall become troublesome to all
-
the kingdoms of the earth. I'm running out of time.
-
I think you get the picture. It's very simple. It's
-
very simple. There is blessing in obedience. There is a
-
curse and disobedience. So remove your no pay attention, observe
-
all the commandments of this book. Be obedient to the
-
commandments of the Bible. When the Lord says in the
-
Bible to do x y and Z do x y
-
and Z. Do not be rebellious in your heart. Do
-
not disobey God, because you will bring an awful curse
-
in your life, and you will bring upon your life
-
very unpleasant things. So I hope you heed this word
-
and remove no from your voc vocan. I be larry
-
to the Lord and say yes, Lord, Yes Lord. I
-
will do what you say, Amen, because I want you
-
to receive the blessing. Amen. Well, this is don No. Well,
