  1. Good evening, Welcome to Voice in the Wilderness. I'm Don

  2. Noble of Pure Heart Ministries, and I welcome you today

  3. with exceedingly abundantly and overflowing joy. Well, I do have

  4. some sad news. I probably will be off the air

  5. off of WWVA eleven seventy am by the end of December.

  6. Probably the Christmas show will be my last time on

  7. the air. And I've had to make that decision because

  8. it's a financial decision. I've mentioned to you many times,

  9. well not many times, but a few times, how expensive

  10. it is to be on a secular station. It's much

  11. cheaper to be on a Christian station, but we don't

  12. have any local Christian stations, so I really had to

  13. look at things and it's just not feasible. I receive very, very,

  14. very very little financial support from my listeners, which is disheartening,

  15. but that's the reality. As long as I've been on

  16. the air, I mean, no one has given consistently, and

  17. the few people that have given, it's just hit and miss,

  18. maybe once a year, maybe twice a year, and so

  19. it's just not financially feasible to stay on the air here.

  20. I'll probably be switching to a different platform at this point,

  21. I don't know what that will be. You know, when

  22. you think about it, you can be on YouTube for free,

  23. and this being on WWVA, it's a fifty thousand watts station,

  24. so you know, it's a powerful station, but it's exceedingly expensive,

  25. and when you don't have any financial support to keep

  26. it going, it makes it pretty difficult. So I'm just

  27. going to monitor it. You know, if something suddenly changes

  28. and people want to make a commitment to help keep

  29. Pure Heart Ministries Voicing the Wilderness on the air, we'll see.

  30. But for now, that is the plan. And it's also

  31. very disappointing. You know, I've always mentioned to email me

  32. or send me a note, and you know, I don't

  33. hear from anybody, so I don't know whether you like

  34. the program. I hate the program. You know, I get

  35. no encouragement, and that's kind of a bummer because there

  36. really is no way for you to respond to the

  37. program unless you email me or you send me a

  38. note in the mail. So with that, I'll probably be

  39. mentioning that over the next couple weeks and we'll see

  40. how that goes. Also, you know, it's the same with

  41. the Bible Study I've announced this Bible study I don't

  42. know how many times, and no one has come, No

  43. one has showed up. And you know, it perplexes me

  44. because I know what's I know pretty much the landscape

  45. here spiritually, and so I don't know why people just

  46. don't want to take advantage of, you know, really learning

  47. a lot about the Bible, and in particular, we are

  48. in the most important book that Paul ever wrote, the

  49. Book of Romans. So anyway, we do meet every Wednesday,

  50. six pm, top Hat Pools and Stoves, twenty two fifty

  51. eight Main Street, Wheeling. That's twenty two to fifty eight

  52. Main Street, Wheeling. We'd love to see you, and hopefully

  53. we just might do that. Last week I talked about

  54. standing with Israel, So this is Standing with Israel, Part two.

  55. And last week, last Monday was the actual one year

  56. anniversary of the attack of Hamas against the Nation of Israel.

  57. A very brutal, ugly, despicable, horrible. I don't know if

  58. I can come up with any more adjectives for what

  59. Hamas did to the Jewish people, but it was the

  60. most disgusting thing I think I've ever read about. But

  61. I did want to address you know those important questions.

  62. What does the Bible say about Israel and the Jews?

  63. Is the covenant God made with Abraham still in effect?

  64. Are the Jews still God's chosen people? So you know,

  65. those are important things for you to know and understand,

  66. because many of you are taught. I don't know. I

  67. can't say many I don't know. You know, I have

  68. listeners from Maine to Florida. So you know, if you're

  69. in a church and you are hearing replacement theology, that

  70. is doctrines of demons, I would flee from that. I

  71. would get out of that church as fast as I

  72. cook can, because replacement theology means this, let me be clear,

  73. it means this. It means that God's promises to Israel

  74. have been transferred to the church. And that is a lie.

  75. God's promises to Israel have not been have not been

  76. transferred to the church. And so this has been fanning

  77. the flames of anti Summitism for two thousand years, and

  78. it's got to stop with the current Church of today,

  79. the Church of Jesus Christ. So I tell you, if

  80. you want to sit under a pastor who teaches you

  81. replacement theology, you will not ever receive the blessing of

  82. the Lord. I guarantee it. Okay, there's a few scriptures

  83. I do want to address. I addressed them last week,

  84. but I'm going to read them to you out of

  85. the amplified Amplified Classic version, and I want you to

  86. hear it again. The two questions, is God's covenant with

  87. the Jews unconditional? And I'm going to answer that for you.

  88. The answer is unequivocally yes. And I'm going to give

  89. you scriptures to support that. So if you'll turn with me,

  90. as I said, I'll be reading out of the Amplified

  91. Classic Jeremiah, chapter thirty, verse eleven. And this is what

  92. the Lord is speaking to the prophet Jeremiah. And he

  93. says this. He says, for I am with you, says

  94. the Lord, to save you. For I will make a

  95. full and complete end of all the nations to which

  96. I've scattered you. But I will not make a full

  97. and complain and of you. But I will correct you

  98. in measure and with judgment, and will in no sense

  99. hold you guiltless or leave you unpunished. Turn to Jeremiah

  100. thirty one, verses thirty five through thirty seven. Thus says

  101. the Lord who gives the sun for a light by day,

  102. and the fixed order of the moon and of the

  103. stars for a light by night. Who stirs up the

  104. seas roaring billows, or steals the waves when they roar.

  105. The Lord of House is his name. If these ordinances

  106. of fixed order depart from before me, says the Lord,

  107. then the posterity of Israel also shall cease from being

  108. a nation before me throughout the ages. Thus, says the Lord,

  109. if the heavens above can be measured, and the foundations

  110. of the earth searched out beneath, then I will cast

  111. off all the offspring of Israel for all that they

  112. have done, says the Lord. The Lord is I don't

  113. think he can make it much clear. You know, he's saying,

  114. if all of a sudden, you know, the moon disappeared,

  115. we didn't have the moon at night for light, We

  116. didn't have the sun for light by day. If all

  117. of this that is actually fixed, right, it's fixed in

  118. the universe. And he's saying, if that would suddenly depart,

  119. then all of a sudden, the posterity of Israel would

  120. also depart. They wouldn't be a Nasian. But we know

  121. that that's ridiculous, because we know that's not going to

  122. happen the sudden. The sun isn't going to suddenly not

  123. give light by day, and the moon is not going

  124. to suddenly not give light by night. So yes, I

  125. like that. The Lord uses really profound statements regarding the

  126. nation of Israel. Look at Jeremiah thirty three, verses twenty

  127. three through twenty six. Again the Lord. Moreover, the word

  128. of the Lord came to Jeremiah saying this, Have you

  129. not noticed that these people, the Jews are saying, the

  130. Lord has cast off the two families Israel and Judah,

  131. which he chose. That's a question. Thus, my people have

  132. despised themselves in relation to God as his covenant people,

  133. so that they are no more a nation in their

  134. own sight. Thus says the Lord. If my covenant with

  135. day and night does not stand, and if I have

  136. not appointed the ordinances of the heavens and the earth

  137. the whole order of nature, then will I also cast

  138. away the descendants of Jacob and David my servant, and

  139. will not choose one of his offspring to be ruler

  140. over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. For I

  141. will cause their captivity to be reversed, and I will

  142. have mercy, kindness in steadfast love on and for them.

  143. So again he's just reiterating what he said a chapter before,

  144. two chapters before. If Day and Knight suddenly disappears, and

  145. if the whole order of nature changes, okay, he says, Okay,

  146. if that happens, you know, I'll cast away the descendants

  147. of Jacob and David. Yeah, I won't let their offspring

  148. to be ruler of the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Yeah.

  149. But see, it's ridiculous, and it's and that's why he's

  150. saying it, because it's so ridiculous. He would never ever

  151. do that, like the sun and the moon are going

  152. to suddenly disappear. So I think we just have to

  153. settle that whole thing, that whole argument. Sell it in

  154. your heart. Just settle it for the last time. Don't

  155. argue it, don't try to think it different. These are

  156. God's words. God is not a man. He should lie.

  157. His word is truth. If he says it, he means it,

  158. and that's it. The utterly unconditional character of God and

  159. his covenant with Israel is restated in both Leviticus and Deuteronomy.

  160. So listen to this from Leviticus twenty six forty four

  161. through forty five. Yet for all that, when they are

  162. in the land of their enemies, I will not cast

  163. them away, nor shall I abhor them to utterly destroy

  164. them and break my covenant with them, for I am

  165. the Lord their God. But for their sake, I will

  166. remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought out

  167. of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations,

  168. that I might be their god. I am the Lord

  169. Deuteronomy four twenty seven and thirty through thirty one. And

  170. the Lord will scatter you among the peoples, and you

  171. will be left for you in number among the nations,

  172. where the Lord will drive you when you are in distress,

  173. And all these things come upon you in the latter days.

  174. When you turn to the Lord your God and obey

  175. his voice. For the Lord your God is a merciful god,

  176. he will not forsake you, nor destroy you, nor forget

  177. the covenant of your fathers which he swore to them. Again,

  178. he sang, I'm not going to forget. I won't forget

  179. the covenant I made with with you in the latter days,

  180. I just won't. I won't forget the Covenant of your

  181. father's I swore it to them, and I meant every word.

  182. But now the Christ has come and established the new Covenant,

  183. making salvation possible through faith in Him to the jew

  184. and gentile alike. Has spiritual Israel displaced Israel? Some think so,

  185. relying for example, on Paul's Letter to the Romans, where

  186. he states, for he is not a Jew who is

  187. one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in

  188. the flesh. But he is a Jew who is one inwardly,

  189. and circumcision is that of the heart in the spirit,

  190. not in the letter, whose praise is not from men

  191. but from God. Paul wrote that in Romans Chapter two,

  192. verses twenty eight and twenty nine. So the replacement theology

  193. people use these scriptures as if as if this is uh,

  194. you know, this is it? Because Paul made this statement,

  195. then the Church is now the new Israel and has

  196. all you know it. See, the Jewish identity is not

  197. defined merely by their physical descent and the sign of circumcision,

  198. but it's also a matter of the heart, and that

  199. means gentiles can qualify as true true Jews. Two probably not,

  200. says doctor Michael Brown. Paul is directing his argument to

  201. Jews primarily to unsaved Jews in Romans two seventeen through twenty.

  202. Within that context, he is defining who is the real

  203. Jew spiritually speaking, Paul is drawing a distinction. Doctor Brown

  204. writes between two Jews, one who is only circumcised physically

  205. and the other who is also circumcised spiritually, which one

  206. is the real Jew? The Jew in this special sense, Well,

  207. the answer is obvious, the one who is also circumcised spiritually.

  208. Brown cites New Testament scholar C. Eke Cranfield, who writes

  209. to Paul's statement in Romans two twenty eight through twenty nine.

  210. Quote should not be taken as implying that those who

  211. are Jews only outwardly are excluded from the promises. So

  212. even though they have not had their hearts circumcised spiritually,

  213. but they're Jews and they have been circumcised, they're not

  214. excluded from the promises. But the replacement theology people look

  215. at those scriptures and that's where they come up with this.

  216. But they are not excluded from the promises. Indeed, Paul

  217. devotes three entire chapters in Romans to God's purpose for

  218. the nation of Israel, declaring that as far as the

  219. Gospel was concerned, they are enemies for your sake, but

  220. as far as election is concerned, they are loved on

  221. the account of the patriarchs, for God's gifts and his

  222. calling are irrevocable Romans eleven, twenty eight through twenty nine.

  223. The poem makes it abundantly clear that God still has

  224. a plan for his people, the Jews. Okay, just again

  225. settle that in your heart He has a plan for

  226. the Jewish people, and that plan is unfolding in our

  227. time with the second return of the Jews to the

  228. land God promised their father Abraham four thousand years ago.

  229. Both Israel and Judah, the divided Northern and Southern kingdoms,

  230. were exiled in seven twenty two and five ninety seven

  231. b C, respectively. Many exiles from Judah returned to Israel

  232. after Cyprus issued his decree in five thirty nine BC,

  233. but after rejecting Christ. But after rejecting Christ, the Jewish

  234. nation was again defeated and dispersed when Rome crushed Jerusalem

  235. in seventy a d. For almost nineteen hundred years, Israel

  236. did not exist, and the Jews were scattered across the

  237. globe until God acted in fulfillment of his word and

  238. Israel became a nation again in nineteen forty eight. Let's

  239. just look take a minute to look at this prophecy

  240. from Isaiah. This is Isaiah eleven ten through twelve. In

  241. that day there shall be a root of Jesse, who

  242. shall stand as a banner to the people, for the

  243. gentiles shall seek him, and his resting place shall be glorious.

  244. It shall come to pass in that day that the

  245. Lord shall set his hand again the second time to

  246. recover the remnant of his people who are left from

  247. a Syria and Egypt, from Pathros and Kush, from Elam

  248. and Shinar, from Hamath and the islands of the sea.

  249. He will set up a banner for the nations, and

  250. will assemble the outcasts of Israel and gather together the

  251. dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

  252. Ezekiel also prophesies Israel's return to the land, which will

  253. happen God makes clear not because of his people's merit,

  254. but his mercy. This prophecy adds the promise of spiritual

  255. restoration as well, and so this is from Ezekiel thirty

  256. six twenty two through twenty seven. Therefore, say to the

  257. House of Israel, thus says the Lord God. I do

  258. not do this for your sake, O Housid Israel, but

  259. for my Holy Name's sake, which you have profaned among

  260. the nations wherever you went. And I will sanctify my

  261. great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which

  262. you have profaned in their midst. And the nations shall

  263. know that I am the Lord, says the Lord God,

  264. when I am hallowed in you before their eyes. For

  265. I will take you from among the nations, gather you

  266. out of all the countries, and bring you into your

  267. own land. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you,

  268. and you shall be clean. I will cleanse you from

  269. all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will

  270. give you a new heart and put a new spirit

  271. within you. I will take the heart of stone out

  272. of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

  273. I will put my spirit within you and cause you

  274. to walk in my statutes. And you will keep my

  275. judgments and do them now, just as Isaiah and Ezekiel

  276. prophesied Jews from among the nations and the four corners

  277. of the Earth have made Aliyah back to Israel. Israel's

  278. law of Return grants citizenship to all Jews who seek

  279. to live in Israel, which has absorbed roughly three point

  280. one million immigrants since nineteen forty eight. The former Soviet

  281. Union alone supplied more than one point two million immigrants

  282. to Israel, with the vast bulk nine hundred and eight

  283. thousand coming between nineteen ninety and two thousand and one.

  284. God promised in Ezekiel thirty six to bring spiritual restoration

  285. to Israel, to quote, put my heart within you and

  286. cause you to walk in my statutes, but that has

  287. not happened on a large scale yet in Israel. For instance,

  288. Tel Aviv was named the world's best gay city for

  289. twenty eleven UH and an estimated forty thousand abortions take

  290. place annually in Israel, where abortion is legal in certain circumstances.

  291. So those aren't two very good things. Forty two percent

  292. of Israeli Jews over twenty over the age of twenty

  293. call themselves secular, according to a twenty ten study, while

  294. an additional twenty four percent view themselves as not very

  295. religious traditionalists. The balance are ultra Orthodox about eight percent,

  296. religious twelve percent, and traditional religious thirteen percent. The restoration

  297. of God's people in Israel is happening. Messianic Jews, those

  298. are Jews who trust in Jesus as Messiah, meet in

  299. an estimated one hundred and fifty congregations across the nation

  300. and number around twenty thousand, which is up from five

  301. thousand in nineteen ninety seven. Jewish believers in Jesus worldwide

  302. number three hundred and fifty thousand, according to estimates. The

  303. growth in Messianic Judaism comes as many in the Jewish

  304. world are reevaluating Jesus and his claims. A CNN columnist

  305. recently observed that quote. In the past year, a spate

  306. of Jewish authors, from the popular to the rabbinic to

  307. the skul, have wrestled with what Jews should think about Jesus,

  308. and that is actually growing. More and more people are

  309. in the that are Jewish are kind of perplexed, They

  310. kind of are intrigued about this Jesus. Actually, Jewish reconsideration

  311. of Jesus has been going on for two centuries. Hoffmann

  312. observed in his book From Rebel to Rabbi, Reclaiming Jesus

  313. and the Making of Modern Jewish Culture that from the

  314. end of the eighteenth century, Jewish proponents of modernization, enlightenment,

  315. and reform began to reject the traditional negative Jewish views

  316. of Jesus in favor of increasingly sympathetic appraisals of him.

  317. This complex and intriguing trend in modern Jewish history has

  318. come to be known by scholars as the Jewish Reclamation

  319. of Jesus. Catholic priest John Palikowski, who teaches at the

  320. Catholic Theological Union, noted much the same in two thousand

  321. and eight. He said, the Jesus question is definitely making

  322. a comeback on the agenda in certain Jewish circles, much

  323. more than it was even a decade ago. The new

  324. Jewish quest for Jesus, however, is now being done much

  325. more in collaboration with Christian scholarship than was the case

  326. in late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. So this renewed

  327. interest in the Jewish Jesus, along with the increasing number

  328. of Jewish men and women who have professed faith in

  329. Jesus as their Messiah, brings to mind Paul's declaration in

  330. Romans eleven about what awaits God's people, the Jews. Paul

  331. said he had great sorrow and continual grief in his

  332. heart for his broth and my countrymen, according to the flesh,

  333. for their refusal to leave. In Jesus made it explicitly

  334. clear that God has not rejected his people. He said

  335. in Romans eleven one and two, I say, then, has

  336. God cast away his people? Certainly not, For I am

  337. also an Israelite of the seed of Abraham, of the

  338. tribe of Benjamin. God has not cast away his people,

  339. whom he foreknew. Not only has He not discarded his people.

  340. A great spiritual in gathering is to come. God will

  341. bring salvation to the Jews, completing the process begun with

  342. a return to the land of Israel by giving them

  343. a new heart and a new spirit. I hope that

  344. clarifies and clears up any kind of muddy thinking in

  345. your mind about the Jews, what they've been promised and

  346. the nation of Israel. Well, this is Don Noble. You
