Them what the is. So with that, what ended up
-
happening is Moses up on the mountain, and with Moses
-
up on the mountain, and he's actually getting the tables,
-
and he walks down Aaron, who is the assistant pastor,
-
has been listening to the people instead of listening to
-
the pastor, and instead of listening to God. Because at
-
that particular time, the relationship was established with Moses. The
-
Bible says it like this, with Moses, I speak face
-
face to face with Moses. I don't deal with Moses.
-
I don't deal with the leaders. I don't deal with
-
the preachers. I don't deal with the prophets. I don't
-
deal with the folk who are in a leadership like
-
I do the folk who are behind them. With them,
-
I have to speak face to face. So there is
-
a different relationship ship require of the prophet, of the priest,
-
of the teacher, of the preacher of the pastor. There's
-
a different relationship required. But then the people must have
-
an ear to hear what God is saying through their leader.
-
So it's Moses's job to lead them. Verse three. We're
-
in Deuteronomy chapter one, and it came to pass in
-
the fortieth year. This is the fortieth year, This is
-
the eleventh month, and this is the first day of
-
the month that Moses speaks unto the children of Israel,
-
according to all that the Lord had given him in
-
the Commandments. So here he's going to repeat what God
-
has already said, because God loves us so much that
-
he allows it to be on repeat, and he normally
-
repeats it if you didn't get it the first time.
-
So if you didn't get it the first time, because
-
according to scripture, we are responsible for what we hear.
-
As soon as we hear it. You don't have to
-
like it, but as soon as you hear it, you
-
become responsible for what you hear. Okay, So when he
-
speaks here in verse three, it would be good if
-
you had the handout, but you can write it into
-
your bible. He's not just talking about the ten Commandments.
-
He's also talking about the six hundred and thirteen laws.
-
It is believed that in the Torah, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus,
-
numbers Deuteronomy that there are six hundred and thirteen laws
-
we must obey if we're going to be good Jewish Christians.
-
There's six hundred and thirteen laws. Some of them are repeated,
-
some of them are in the New Testament. They're written
-
in different forms. But we are responsible for the six
-
hundred and thirteen laws plus the ten Commandments. So to
-
be a good Christian, you're responsible for the law that
-
was given by Moses and the six hundred and thirteen
-
laws that were in the trough. Verse four says, and
-
he's slain Shaihan, the king of the Amorites, which dwelt
-
in hesbond and ours the king of Bashan, which dwelt
-
at Astra in Edra. So what he's telling them is
-
God has slain kings. God has taken down people. He
-
has opposed the enemy that is against us. So not
-
only has God given us food, not only has God
-
kept our clothes from wearing out forty years. Can you
-
imagine having a shirt for forty years, a pair of
-
shoes for forty years. So the clothes, the food, I
-
brought you out of bondage. I brought you out of
-
a troubled place. But even though he brought people out
-
of bondage, some people still love bondage. New Testament. Let's
-
bring it in a New Testament. New Testament. Say, some
-
people love darkness more than they love light. And that's
-
what it means, because the word Egypt means a dark place.
-
Egypt is a dark place. So I brought you out
-
of a dark place into a place of promise. And
-
some people were angry, because as much as some people
-
would rather be told for time to get up, some
-
people would rather not make a decision on what to eat.
-
They just have to eat what's sent in front of them.
-
Some people were happy being in bondage, but he's now
-
reminding them Verse four of chapter one, and then verse five.
-
On this side of Jordan, in the land of Moab,
-
began Moses to declare the law. So he began to
-
speak to them again, saying, this is what we gotta do.
-
Verse six, the Lord, our God spake unto us in horror.
-
Again horror is Mount Sinai, saying you have dwelt long
-
enough in this mountain, turn ye and take your journey
-
and go to the mount of the Emmorits. Now the
-
problem we're going to the mount of Ammorits. The problem
-
going in the plane is that in Emera, where the
-
Emmorites are, they're giants. We know this by looking at numbers,
-
because when the man of God sent out the twelve spies.
-
Only two spies came back and said, the Man of
-
God said, what do y'all want to do? Two spies says, sir,
-
let's go. We are well able to take it. And
-
they gave a good report. Their report was the grapes
-
are big as a person's head. The fruit that's in
-
that land is bigger than you can imagine. But it
-
was also noted that in that place there are giants.
-
We will see two sets of giants the annex, which
-
to some of us who have already studied numbers, becomes
-
very interesting because it is believed that they became giants
-
because angels mixed with men and produced a superior race. Okay,
-
so when we look at this and we began to
-
look at the fact that he's saying, I allowed you
-
to slaugh every enemy that was in front of you.
-
Thank you, Lord. That just hurt you. Excuse me, I
-
just heard the Lord say every enemy that's in front
-
of you, I'm going to allow them to be destroyed.
-
So you really, you really don't have any enemies because
-
God is handling your enemies. God is taking care of
-
the opposition that's in front of you. God, according to
-
the scriptures, will even make your enemies be at peace
-
with you, win your ways. Please God, Okay, I'm trying
-
not to holler, because right there I fell holler in
-
my spirit. I'm saying, this is teaching my life glory.
-
Bless your names. He says. God is going to handle
-
every just like he handled every enemy of Israel. He's
-
handling your enemies. You don't have to worry. You don't
-
have to get frustrated, you don't't have to get been
-
out of shape. God is handling your enemy. So verse seven,
-
let me get back to this. Why I go to
-
hollering and screaming in this out Okay, see, he says,
-
turn turn to you and take your journey and go
-
to the mount of the Amirits. Go to the place
-
because Ammorites. Where the Amorites are there much supply. So
-
God is trying to take us a place from a
-
place of nothingness to a place of great supplies. God's
-
trying to take us to a place where there is
-
stuff that you ain't never seen before, grapes as big
-
as your head. So there's this is the land of plenty,
-
a land of much supply. Into all the places now
-
they're unto in the plain, in the hills, and in
-
the vale, and in the south and in the seaside
-
to the land of the cana Knights. You should underline
-
cana Knights in your Bible, because the land of the
-
Cana Knights is the place of promise, and unto Lebelon
-
and unto the great river, the river euphrates east. So
-
this is Caina is the promised land. Caina is the
-
place where the amorits dwell. Caina is the place where
-
there's great supply. Cana is the place where God is
-
destroys all of the enemies. So verse eight says, behold,
-
I've set the land before you. Go in and possess
-
the land which the Lord swore unto your fathers. Let's
-
read it again. Behold, I have given it to you.
-
I placed it in your reach. It's right there, and
-
all you have to do is go in and possess it.
-
Don't look at the giants. Don't look at the tragic
-
stuff that you see. Don't look. One of the problems
-
in the Book of Numbers that they did was when
-
they came back to talk to the leader, they said,
-
but wait a minute, we are like grasshoppers to them.
-
You must be careful how you see yourself and in
-
this season, how you describe yourself to other folks. Sometimes
-
we demean ourself as a way of humbleness, but they
-
were not demeaning their self as a way of humbleness.
-
They were demeaning themselves, recognizing or now realizing that they
-
were limiting themselves. Don't limit the potential that God has
-
placed inside of you. You are I said it Sunday.
-
I'm gonna say it again out. You are greater than
-
you know. The hand of God is upon your life,
-
and with God you can do all things. So don't
-
minimize yourself. Don't limit yourself. The hand of God is
-
on your life. You are great, You are powerful. You
-
are anointed, and it does mean oh God, a pastor.
-
I don't get everything right. No, you and I get
-
everything right. But is still annointed? Pastor? I don't say
-
sometimes I don't know. I said, but you're still annointed
-
a pastor even with the fast I haven't been. I
-
gotta be honest with you, Pastor, I the struggle. No,
-
but you're still anointed. Understand the power that God has
-
placed inside of you. Saying verse eight I've said it
-
before you. It's right there, it's in your futh it's
-
right in hand. It's the same thing that I promised Abraham,
-
Isaac and Jacob. But Abraham, Isaac and Jacob die and
-
never get the promise. That's not gonna happen to us.
-
We must possess what God has promised for us. So
-
God has promised it not only to Abraham, but to
-
Abraham's seed. And we're the seed of Abraham. We are
-
the seed, the offspring of Abraham. Our fathers did not
-
possess the promise. But this is the generation of them
-
that seek Him, that seek His face. Oh, Jacob, this
-
is the generation that's gonna see the promise of God.
-
This is the generation that's going to have the blessings
-
of the Lord. This is the generation that will possess
-
what God says. This. This is the generation that's gonna
-
obey God and receive what God has promised. Verse nine says,
-
and I spake unto you at the time, saying I'm
-
not able to bear myself alone. Verse ten says the
-
Lord your God have multiplied you, and behold you are
-
as the stars in the heavens for a multitude So
-
this is the fulfillment of Genesis chapter twenty two and
-
verse seventeen. Because in Genesis chapter twenty two and seventeen,
-
the Lord tells, He tells Abraham, our father. He tells Abraham,
-
I'm gonna bless them that bless you. I'm gonna curse
-
them that curse you, he says to Abraham. And in
-
you does the whole nation. Twelve. I'm gonna multiply you
-
to the part that your children will not be number.
-
We are the fulfillment of Genesis chapter twenty two, verse seventeen.
-
And we are the fulfillment of Deuteronomy chapter one and ten.
-
We have now been multiplied so much so that there
-
are Christians Christians all over the world. So we have
-
been multiplied. So we see that what God says, he does.
-
So we see that what God says he does. So
-
we see that he is not a man that he
-
can tell a lie. Because whatever he says, it happens.
-
We can attest to the fact, and we are witnesses
-
to the fact that God has multiplied us verse eleven.
-
So the Lord, God of your fathers, make you a
-
thousand times so many more as you are, and bless
-
you So the Lord God make you a thousand times
-
so many more as you are, and bless you as
-
He has promised. That is the blessing that not only
-
goes to you, but it goes to your seed and
-
your seed seed, and your seed seed seed and your
-
seed seed. See, it's a perpetual blessing that whatever God
-
has for you is also being blessed to go through
-
your generations. And not only that, he says. Notice what
-
he says, and you should underline this in your Bible.
-
He says, so many more as you are, and bless you.
-
So God has blessed us with every spiritual gift. You
-
haven't even tried to do it yet, but God has
-
blessed you with every spiritual gift. You can speak in tongue,
-
you can cause miracles to happen. You can speak things
-
that are not and they must occur because God has
-
blessed you with every spiritual gifts. You can dream, you
-
can interpret your dreams. You can speak prophecy, and you
-
don't have the title of prophet because God has placed
-
on your life every spiritual gift. So Verse twelve says,
-
how can I myself alone bear your cumberance and your
-
burden and your strife. This is Moses asking the question.
-
So then he says in verse thirteen, take ye, wise men,
-
an understanding and known among your tries, and I will
-
make them rulers over you. This is where accountability and
-
stewardship is again introduced. God says to Moses, this is
-
a heavy task. This is a heavy burden. But place
-
leaders over every company of fifty. And when you place
-
leaders over the companies of fifty, then allow them to
-
go to their leaders. And Moses, you won't get burnt out,
-
you won't die before your time. You won't be worried
-
by the things that are happening, you won't be bogged down.
-
So he says to Moses, apart people who have accountability,
-
who are in good standings of stewardship, who have the
-
hand of God upon their lives, and allow them to
-
deal with the people, because we still have a great
-
task of people. Verse fourteen of chapter one says, and
-
ye answered me and said, the thing which thou has
-
spoken is good for us to do. So I took
-
the chiefs, the chief of your tribe, wise men. Every
-
leader ought to be a wise person and known. Every
-
leader ought to have it be known to have a
-
relationship with God and make them and made them heads
-
over you captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and
-
captains over fifty, and captains over ten, and officers among
-
your tribe. In other words, don't put yourself in a
-
place that you're gonna be worn out Verse sixteen. And
-
I charge your judges because at that time, the system
-
of dealing with stuff that was going on in the multitude,
-
God use judges. And that's why the book Judges is
-
in the Bible, because we go through a period where
-
the judges would handle the various situations that were happening
-
in the middle of the congregation. But then God fires
-
judges because the judges get out of place. But this
-
is where it was instituted. And I charge your judges
-
at the time, saying here are the causes between your
-
brotherren and judge righteously between every man and his brother
-
and the stranger that is with him. Verse seventeen says
-
you shall not respect persons in judgment. And God still
-
says the same thing to us today. We cannot be
-
respecters of person. But you said here the small situationations
-
as well as the great you should not be afraid
-
of the face of men. Just can't have any fear
-
when you're leading God's people. You have any fear when
-
you're dealing with God's people. For the judgment is God's for,
-
the judgment is God's for. You got to hear what
-
God is saying. The judgment is God's judgment. And the
-
cause that is too hard for you, then bring those
-
to me. This is Moses talking, and I will hear
-
it verse eighteen. And I will command you at the
-
time of all things you should wish, you should do
-
verse nineteen. And when we depart from horror, we went
-
through all the great and the terrible wilderness. You should
-
underline in your Bible wilderness. Just notice how he describes
-
it great and terrible, great and terrible, I will say now,
-
but talk about it later. The wildernness has great purpose
-
for every saint's life. Let me say that again. You
-
should write that down if you're taking notes. The wilderness
-
has great purpose for every person's life. And you should
-
know that Jesus went into the wildness. The Bible said
-
he was led by the spirit to go into the wilderness.
-
Moses goes into the wilderness before he ever gets with
-
the tender the visual now the tender of visual. So
-
the wilderness has a purpose. Jesus fasted for forty days
-
forty nights before going into the wilderness. Some of y'all died.
-
And I think we're only on day ten of our consecration,
-
twenty one day. Can you imagine if we was on
-
forty that's just a joke. Get upset, So you can
-
imagine that Jesus and forty days. And we know forty
-
because we understand numerology and we we embrace numerology. Forty
-
is preparation. So God was preparing Jesus for something. God
-
was preparing him for his next God was preparing him
-
for his assignment. But Moses fasting for forty days and
-
for forty night because God was preparing him for his assignment.
-
We see here the tuit andivisual have gone into a bond.
-
I'm out of bondage into the wilderness for forty days
-
because God was preparing them and getting something out of them.
-
Fasting is necessary to get something out and to get
-
something in the wilderness. He said, it's great and it's terrible.
-
It's great and it's terrible. And he says, which you
-
saw by the way of the mountain of the Emirates,
-
as the Lord our God commanded us, and we came
-
to there is kordh Sperana. Again. You should underline it
-
in your Bible and write a note, because Kordesshperana is
-
right on the threshing floor. It's a few steps in
-
the promised land. How many times is God going to
-
allow us to get right on the threshold of the
-
blessing and not take hold of it? How many times
-
will God allow you to get so close to the promise,
-
so close that you can almost feel it, taste it,
-
see it, smell it, but not possess it. Not too
-
many times will God allow that unless he cannot take
-
what's in us into the place that's promised for us. Okay,
-
So that's the only reason they prolonged their time. God
-
intended for them to get there earlier. It was God's plan,
-
it was God's purpose, it was God's doing. He had
-
set everything up for them to possess, to take a hold,
-
to lay hell of the promise. But they missed it,
-
messed it up, and could not lay whole of the promise. Okay.
-
So Verse twenty one says, behold the Lord has set
-
the land before thee go up and possess it. God
-
has placed it right. It's in front of you. It's
-
right there. It's right there. Can't you see it? It's
-
right there. Possess it, take hold of it, take charge
-
of what God has promised you. This is gonna sound
-
real crazy. You don't have to live in stress. You
-
don't have to live in strength. You don't have to
-
live and deny. You don't have to live in hurt.
-
You don't have to live in pain. God has already
-
given you a promise. And his promise has nothing to
-
do with the pain, the stress, to hurt, and all
-
of the agony that goes with your walk with God.
-
But we sometimes prolong it because there other dimensions of
-
God that we've got to learn, Other things about God.
-
We've got to see. So and he says verse twenty two,
-
Verse twenty one, Behold, the Lord, thy God has set
-
the land before thee go up and possess it. As
-
the Lord, God of our fathers have said, unto thee,
-
fear not neither be discouraged. Fear not neither be discouraged.
-
And you came near unto me verse twenty two. Every
-
one of you has said, we will send men before us,
-
and they shall search us out the land and bring
-
us word again. By what way we must go up,
-
and into what city we shall come. And that is
-
we see that in Numbers Chapter thirteen, verses one through
-
thirty three, when they already set the twelve spies out
-
to look at the land. But then some of them,
-
when they came back, received a negative report. Some of
-
them did not receive the good report. And the saying
-
pleased me, well, I took twelve men of you want
-
to be strived. And they turned and went into the
-
mountain and came into the valley of a skull and
-
searched it out. And they took of the fruit of
-
the land in their hands and brought it down unto us,
-
and brought us word again, and said, it is a
-
good land which the Lord, our God gives to us.
-
Notwithstanding you would not go up, but rebel against the
-
commandment of the Lord. Is he's talking about the people. Now,
-
you had the opportunity, but instead you heard the report
-
and you rebelled against the Lord. You had the privilege,
-
you were right there. God had us on the threshold
-
of our blessing. But you rebelled, and you rose up
-
against those that had been sent in the promised land,
-
and you rebel not against them, but against God. Verse
-
twenty seven is where we're stopping. Then we'll open the
-
line for questions. Verse twenty seventh saying, and you murmured.
-
You need to really highlight the word murmured. You need
-
to underline it. You need to in your notes rite murmur,
-
because you will see murmured in this chapter some sixteen times,
-
sixteen times. God has to deal with them murmuring. The
-
land is rich, the grapes are bigger than our head.
-
That's fruit over there, galore. They're giants over there. But
-
the provisions are great, and they start to murmur. They
-
start to complain. Murmur is listed some sixteen times sadly
-
in the scripture. Murmur is what keeps them from receiving
-
what God had. It's too hard, not clear. Well, God,
-
what are you really trying to say? Well, God, I
-
don't understand. Well God, what is it you want me
-
to see? Well God, I mean God, I mean God
-
is just me. They murmured. They came up with some
-
kind of reason for not possessing the promises of God
-
that he had already promised to them. He had kept
-
their clothes from wearing out for forty years. He had
-
giving them food. He gave them bread. He gave them
-
daily bread, the manner that they would eat. Manner is interpreted,
-
what is this? Manna was given to them for breakfast,
-
mana was given for lunch, man was given for dinner.
-
Then on the sixth day, the man was the only
-
day that they could keep the manner. Mana would not
-
last any other day, But on the sixth day you
-
could keep the manner to the seventh day, because he
-
did not allow mana to rain on the seventh day.
-
So he had fed them. When they got upset and said, Lord,
-
we're tired of eating bread, the Lord said, okay, you're
-
tired of eating bread. So you know what he did.
-
He allowed them just put your hand in the air
-
put out a quail. They gave them me, Lord, we
-
tired of quail. They murmured, they complained. They always got
-
to a place where they were not satisfied with the
-
blessings of God. They did not like to murmur means
-
to not like, to not consent, to not receive what
-
God is doing. God, I don't like bread God, I
-
don't like. I don't I'm tired of quail. I'm tired
-
of this. I'm tired of that. God, I'm tired of.
-
To murmur and complain means to denounce the provisions and
-
the blessings of God. To murmur is to say to God, God,
-
you are not taking good care of me. To murmur
-
is to say to God, God, I'm tired of you.
-
I'd rather have another God. God. To murmur to God
-
is to say to God, God, I don't like this
-
relationship with you. I was better off where I was.
-
And so he makes a big problem with murmuring because
-
the more they murmur, the more they complain. They were
-
saying to God. They were never at a place of contention.
-
They were never at a place of satisfaction. They will
-
never at a place of praise. They will never at
-
a place of thank you. They will never at a
-
place of giving God glory. They will never at a
-
place of saying, God, I thank you because I don't
-
have to be woke up every morning, and God, I
-
thank you because I don't have to eat what's placed
-
in front of me, and God, I don't have to
-
go to work and make bricks out of straw. The
-
murmuring said to God, God, you are not good enough.
-
That's what murmuring mean. So in verse twenty seven is
-
where we stopped. He wants us to know their murmuring
-
came across as their hating God. God. We hate you.
-
I hate you for the life that I have. I
-
hate you for how you allow me to go through
-
unborn through God. I hate the path You've chosen for me. God,
-
I hate the journey you placed me on. That's what
-
murmuring says to God. When we complain, when we look
-
back and we desire Egypt morning, we desire freedom. We're
-
saying to God, you should have left me in sin.
-
You should have left me in my gang banging days.
-
You should have left me in my hormone the days
-
you should have left me. Way back then, I was
-
having more fun as a sinner than I'm having being saved.
-
So I'm trying to try trying to put in your
-
spirit what murmuring says, because if that's anything we got
-
to get out of these lessons is we've got to
-
cease from our murmuring. We're at the seven forty five.
-
You can open the lines, you can open your you
-
can unmute yourself questions. I think if you're looking in
-
the those of you who have the capabilities to go
-
to chet, she has placed basically everything I said, She's
-
placed it in the check. So you can go over
-
there and you can get the notes. If you're not
-
writing notes, you can actually also copy them and paste
-
them into another document on your computer if you're on
-
a computer. But they are there questions, go ahead.
-
Okay, bishop, so so in verse twenty six when in okay,
-
in verse twenty five, the spies go out verse twenty six,
-
and they come back and they say how good the
-
land is and everything?
-
So is it?
-
In verse twenty six when it says you would not
-
go up, does.
-
That mean that the people refused.
-
To follow the people to follow the spies into the
-
land to fight for the land.
-
They rebelled because if you remember, there were there were
-
there was a spy from all twelve tribes. Five spies
-
came back and talked about the giants. Let me put
-
it like this, Five spies came and talked about the challenges.
-
Only two talked about the victories. Five spies came back
-
and talked about their being giants and how we need
-
to be a friend, and how we need to be careful,
-
and uh, they're bigger than we are. Two spies came
-
back and say, yeah, they're giants out there, but we
-
can take them. It's the difference between being optimistic and pessimistic.
-
As Christians, we should be optimistic. If God said do it,
-
you shouldn't have. I can't do it because it was
-
in front of me. And and you will find that
-
there are a lot of pessimistic Christians who are scared,
-
who are fearful, who take thought for their lives, who
-
take thought for what they're gonna eat or drink, who
-
don't believe God, who's scared to believe God. But God
-
is saying to us, no, no, if I tell you
-
to do it, do it. If I tell you to
-
go outside right now, stand on your head and you're
-
gonna get a blessing, you better know the blessing is coming.
-
That's the difference. I'm trying to make it so plain
-
to you that you gotta obey what God says. He's saying,
-
God is given to us this land. But y'all got
-
fearful because of the report. And that's also where in
-
Isaiah fifty three Isaiah writes, whose report are you gonna believe?
-
Who gonna believe the report of the Lord, because most
-
people believe the report of everybody else without believe in
-
God to do what he says. I've seen him do
-
too many things not to believe them. I'm crazy enough
-
to believe he can heal any manner of sickness and disease.
-
That's right. Other questions, Okay, this is my last question.
-
I don't.
-
Go ahead.
-
Okay, So are the people afraid to fight? Or is
-
it just the the egypt mindset?
-
The Egyptian mindset is the same mindset many of us have.
-
We want God to give it to us without a stress.
-
We don't want to go through nothing. If God want
-
me to have it, he can just go. He's just
-
gonna drop it on me. It's not that easy. If
-
you're going to have it, the enemy is going to
-
oppose you. But if the enemy oppose you, you got
-
to know well enough that if the enemy is opposing you,
-
he's opposing you because he doesn't want you to get
-
to something. He's trying to keep you from getting it.
-
He knows something you don't know. He's peaued your file,
-
he's already looked ahead of you. So so nothing's going
-
to come easy. That's not that's not our application. Nothing
-
is going to come to you easy. You have to
-
fight for whatever. You have to fight for your sanity,
-
you have to fight for your peace, you have to
-
fight to keep it. So it's not not an easy tag.
-
They just believe those upspies instead of thinking, Okay, I'm
-
gonna have to go through something to get it. Nothing,
-
nothing in your life is gonna be easy.
-
Okay, all right, I got a question, yes, sir, oh, okay,
-
So you're talking about the murmuring and complaining. At what
-
point it just for a real world application. At what
-
point is that you go from just going through a
-
storm or going through you know, the heaviness of dealing
-
with something, to now it is an actual form of
-
murmuring and complaint.
-
Any statement or anything we do or say that a
-
curses God. And I use that phrase a curse is
-
God is hitting below the belt. And sometimes when you're talking,
-
you'll shake yourself and you realize, wait a minute, I
-
just said God can't wait a minute. I just the
-
way I act, it is like God can't do this.
-
So anytime that we start we hit below the belt.
-
Whenever we bring God into accusation, we bring God into
-
a cursing. We act like God can't do something, and
-
we act like God won't do something. If God tells
-
you go outside walk on the snow, God ain't gonna
-
do that. That's murmuring because you're going against what God says.
-
Anytime we're being disobedient, anytime we're not adhering to what
-
God has said, we are murmuring. We're complaining, and sometimes
-
we do it without opening our mouth. God ain't gonna
-
do that. Now, God, God, if you really want me
-
to do this, take my Bible and turn it around
-
seven times and let it let it flip seven times. God,
-
if you really want me to do that when I
-
wake up in the morning, and let that be scripture.
-
We have to be very careful. It's like that phrase,
-
there's a thin line between love and hate. There's a
-
thin line between murmuring and obeying God. I would say,
-
like the old mothers used to say, you just need
-
obey God. If he says do it, do it. I'm
-
not gonna I'm not gonna come in with any commentation,
-
commentary or any kind of doubt I'm just gonna do it.
-
God tells me go down town tomorrow and preach at
-
the bus stop. Guess what I'm gonna do. I ain't
-
gonna say, Well, Lord is cold. That's murmuring, Lord is cold. Lord.
-
Ain't nobody gonna be there? Lord, I don't know what
-
the schedule is. Lord. All that's murmuring God. Well, Lord,
-
is anybody gonna listen to me? God, I'm gonna look stupid.
-
That's murmuring God. I'm gonna be out there by myself. God. Well, God,
-
if I go out well out a microphone, all of
-
that is that is auder line murmuring. Okay, I'm not
-
obeying God or taking him at his word. He has
-
kept us, he has fed us. He didn't let allow
-
our clothes to wear out. And their problem is they
-
start going back to serving idol gods. There were three
-
thousand and five hundred idol gods. They wanted the God
-
that they could touch, that they could see, that they
-
could feel. They wanted to be like everybody else. And
-
God says, no, I want to be your kings of kings,
-
your Lord, Lord, I want to be your God. That's
-
the problem with Israel today. God, wanted to be their king,
-
but they said no, we want a Physican king. They
-
picked Sault. They picked Sault. They've been in trouble every since.
-
We got to learn how to lean towards the spirit
-
and not towards the flesh. The spirit the flesh were
-
fasten because we're trying to get away from flesh into spirit.
-
We're spending time with God because we're trying to get
-
away from flesh into the spirit. We're praying because if
-
you if you just not eating and not fast not
-
reading no more scripture than you know to read, you're
-
just not eating. We're fasting so we can spend more
-
time with God. We're fasting because after speaking to God,
-
I gotta allow him to speak back to me, Lord,
-
what are you saying? How many times in a real
-
relationship it goes both ways. If me and my wife
-
I do all the talking, she never answered me. That's
-
gonna be a short relationship. But I'm speaking to God. Now, God,
-
what are you saying to me? And He will tell
-
you we'll take this off. We get rid of this.
-
You need to leave Johnny. You don't need to be
-
with And that's what we're afraid of. So most of us, murmur,
-
make excuses because we're afraid of what God's gonna tell
-
us to do. Because he will tell you to do
-
some things that will hurt temporarily, but in the long
-
run you will see the blessing of God. Other questions
-
which she got time for too more.
-
If anybody else got a question, oh a little bit,
-
is it not a reasonable a reasonable response? If the
-
Lord did say, all right, go down the street and
-
preach at the bus stop, is it not a reasonable
-
question to be like, Lord, it's cold? Is that not
-
like a reasonable response? Not that you're murmuring, complaining, but
-
it's just Lord is cold. I mean, like, did I
-
hear like.
-
He knew it was cold when he told you to
-
do it. He already knew it was cold. He look,
-
he allows the weather to go for so he already
-
knew it was cold. So yeah, that that is unreasonable
-
to even add, Oh, Lord, you know it's cold. Put
-
your head on, get you a cold, put you some
-
long drawls on, whatever you got to go out there
-
and do what he says. We're trying to obey God
-
in every sense of the word. I would tell you
-
what David said. He says it is better to obey
-
than to sacrifice. But he says that rebellion is as
-
the sin of witchcraft, and really that's you rebelling against
-
God because you're not obeying him. So yes, it is
-
that detrimental, It is that important. It is that you know,
-
some of us will be a whole lot further if
-
we just obey God. He wants to be a part
-
of your relationship. He wants to be a part of
-
your marriage. He wants to be a part of your
-
your dating, he wants to be a part of your ideas.
-
He wants to be a part of everything in your life.
-
But we we box him out and we figure, okay, God,
-
you can deal with this, but don't deal with this part.
-
So yes, it's unreasonable to tell a little it's cold.
-
He knew what's cold when he told you, okay, understood,
-
understood that ain't beat you up. All right, We got
-
time for maybe one more question, maybe two. That didn't
-
take as long as I thought. It's also, yes, ampossible.
-
I was looking at this at the scripture at nineteen
-
when it says we went through the great and we
-
went through the turn fine wilderness. We can have it
-
good and then we can face our position the next
-
So with that, how because some people don't like going.
-
Through well, the wilderness was not intended. They were only
-
supposed to be there eleven days. They made it hard.
-
But no, but I wish I could get the saints
-
to a point that we realize all of us went
-
through COVID. Yes, all of us went through other things
-
that were devastating. But think about how good God was.
-
Because some folks died in COVID, he didn't some of
-
us caught it. Some of us had it three or
-
four times and didn't even know we had it. Some
-
of them didn't take the test. But look at how God.
-
There can be a famine in the land, that can
-
be fol folks that are hunger, but God does not
-
allow us to be hungry. Even in the wilderness. God
-
takes good care of us. And that's what I wish
-
I could get people to see that. That that's why
-
it doesn't matter who's in the White House who takes over,
-
because God still gonna take care of his children. God
-
still gonna take care of his people. That the clothes
-
didn't wear out, same shirt for forty years, same pass
-
to walking in the wilderness, but he let no holes
-
get in them. Nobody had wisdom doctor shouls. He kept
-
their feet good, he kept everything, He kept them healthy,
-
he kept them wealthy. Some of them might have been overweight,
-
but but he didn't let hold on. My hip is hurt.
-
He kept them healed. He did all of that for
-
them in the wilderness. And that is a testament to
-
us that if God could take care of them, no
-
matter what's about to come next year, the year after,
-
the next ten years, God all it rains on the
-
just as well as the unjust, but God takes care
-
of us. I'm about to holler again. I can get
-
me to holler. Not gonna holler, because when you think
-
about the fact that God he takes good everybody should
-
really say that to yourself. He takes good care of me.
-
I don't always get but I think I should have
-
or may not have everything I think I won't, But
-
sometimes He knows that what I want, what I need,
-
He has taken great care of me. And that's and
-
that's what that verse is trying to convey, trying to
-
convey to them Gods, Hey, y'all black folk. God been
-
good to y'all. Mm hm, God has God has preserved
-
you God has kept you. And when you look at
-
the fact that he's kept you and all that he's
-
done for you, But we spend the time thinking about
-
what he's done, what has happened, instead of all the
-
good stuff he's done. Kept me from getting the cold,
-
kept me from getting the flu, kept me from dying.
-
Folk are dying right now in the hospital, respiratory problem.
-
But he's keeping it from us. Yes, it's only the
-
grace and the mercy of God. You keep it. Eating
-
with strength, You're faster, and he feels weak because you
-
ain't eating sugar, and you ain't eating cake, and you
-
ain't eating all that stuff. So your body is going
-
through rejection because your body has been used to having
-
junk food when you want it. Now you're trying to
-
bring your boy in this subjection. So you you suffering.
-
You I'm about to die. No, you're not about to die.
-
Our God takes good care of us, but he wants
-
disciplined lives. He wants dedicated people. We got
