Slap your hands as you take your seats.
-
This is the day that the Lord has made. We
-
will retarice and be glad.
-
This is the day that the Lord has made. We
-
will retarde.
-
We certainly blessed the Lord for another day that the
-
Lord has kept us.
-
He has kept us from long evil, with.
-
Our minds stayed on him.
-
Certainly we honor the leadership of this house.
-
To all of our mothers, to all of our deacons,
-
to all of our trustees, to all of our elders,
-
our pastors, our overseers, our menace, we.
-
Honor you on this morning.
-
To the elate lady of this house, Lady Sheryl Shause,
-
we honor you.
-
And to all of God's children.
-
We certainly bless the Lord, and we're thankful this morning
-
for another day of life and for living.
-
Is there anybody just glad to be alive?
-
He didn't have to let us live, but he's allowed
-
us to live one more time.
-
That's enough to be grateful.
-
I don't have to remind you somebody didn't wake up this.
-
Morning, but he woke you up all time, gave you life,
-
health and stress, and for that we are grateful.
-
Get your bibles with your biables. Some of us have
-
already been in service. Thank you for allowing us to
-
complete our assignment. On this morning at the nine o'clock hour,
-
we were involved in the blessing, the consecration, the elevation
-
of Pastor Jericha Wise on this morning at nine o'clock.
-
Normally we would be in this sanctuary. Thank you for
-
being so understanding. Sometimes your pastor has a tendency to
-
get in the midst of stuff and mess it up,
-
and I did that today.
-
I double book myself.
-
So on this morning at nine o'clock we were at
-
christ Alive at the pastoral elevation of Jericha Wise. This
-
afternoon we're praying that you meet us and Ashparrow. I'm
-
on assignment this afternoon, going to encourage a young man
-
of God and a young ministry, and hopefully you will
-
meet us in ash Barrow is not that far and
-
you will meet us there at.
-
The four o'clock hour.
-
I am always grateful for all of the people of God.
-
Thank you for your prayers, for your support on this week,
-
for those of you who drop things off at the house.
-
My son is watching the last I saw he was watching,
-
and we are certainly grateful for all that you do
-
for us as a family. Please continue to keep him
-
in your prayers. He's progressing. We had a doctor's appointment
-
on Friday, and he needs your prayers. Let's look at
-
the Word of God from Luke's Gospel, chapter seven. There
-
is a very familiar pastive scripture that the Lord would
-
have us to focus on this morning. We're certainly grateful
-
for those who are watching online.
-
Thank you for joining us. Thank you for those of.
-
You who are watching and you are part of this ministry,
-
and those of you who are not physically a part
-
of this ministry, but you are supporting to us. We've
-
got good news. Just just tap somebody, tell him better
-
days to come in. That's all I can say.
-
I can't say too much.
-
Lap somebody on the other side and tell him better
-
days are coming. You ought to get excited up the
-
fact that God will do just what he's saying.
-
David said it best. I once was young, but now
-
I'm old.
-
But yet I've not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his
-
seed begging break.
-
I wish you grabbed somebody that got in the hole
-
it goes and tell him he'll do just what he's said.
-
That's all I can say right now.
-
But about about I promise you in a few days
-
you're gonna be real happy about what the Lord has done.
-
And so Fishop McNeil is working this morning, and we're
-
certainly praying the students are moving back in like North
-
Carolina Anti State University, and so he's working this morning.
-
Castor and his family are out because he's working on
-
this morning, so we certainly thank God that they are online.
-
As far as I know.
-
Let's look at the Word of God that comes from
-
Luke's Gospel, chapter seven, and we're going to begin reading
-
at verse eleven.
-
We'll actually to stand when you have it. If you
-
don't have it, just slide over close to the person
-
who does have it.
-
Let's read the scripture together.
-
It says, now it happened the day after that he,
-
meaning Jesus, went into a city called Nane name, and
-
many of his disciples went with him, and a large crowd.
-
And when he came near the gate of the city,
-
behold a dead man was being carried out, the only
-
son of his mother. And she was a widow, and
-
a large crowd from the city was with her.
-
When the Lord saw.
-
Her, he had compassion on her and said to her,
-
do not weep. Then he came and touched the open coffin,
-
and those who carried him stood still, and he said,
-
young man, I say to you arise. So he who
-
was dead set up and began to speak, and he
-
presented him.
-
To his mother.
-
Then fear came upon all of them, and they glorified God, saying,
-
a great prophet has risen among us, and God has
-
visited his people, and his report about him went throughout
-
Jadeah and all of the surrounding regions. You can close
-
your bible, just look at a neighbor and repeat our suddenly, say, neighbor,
-
God's about to give life to your dead situations.
-
Come on, look at one a person.
-
Tell him, neighbor, God is about to give life.
-
To your dead situations. Come on, last time, I should
-
take your seat. Tell somebody he's speaking life.
-
It is interesting, and any person who is in Christendom
-
will have to go through times of discouragement and frustration.
-
The nimy likes.
-
To get attached to us because he understands that we
-
are spiritual beings who have been created to live in
-
a physical world. So what he likes to do is
-
to get us caught up in our emotions. He likes
-
for us to point in on those things that are
-
emotional to us. You know, you've been taught them the
-
sight of small hearing those things that are emotional.
-
He likes to deal with us.
-
Whenever the enemy wants to try to destroy you, he
-
will deal with matters.
-
Of your heart. He waits and he attacks.
-
He attacks family, He attacks mothers and daughters and sons,
-
because he knows that we are emotionally attached to those things.
-
He knows if it's going to hurt, it's got to
-
hurt you in a place that almost devastates you.
-
He has an assignment. He's just like the thief.
-
For John declares, it is the thief that comes but
-
for to kill, to steal, and to destroy it. So
-
if the enemy wants to get next to you, he's
-
always got to mess with something that is dear to you.
-
He's on an assignment because he recognizes he cannot stop you.
-
He cannot kill you. And though sometimes you feel like
-
what he's doing is killing you, I come to submit
-
to you.
-
He does not have the power to kill you up.
-
So what he wants to do is get so emotionally attached.
-
He gets in our feelings because he understands that when
-
God created.
-
Us, he created us with feelings. Shut.
-
Oh, y'all looking at me, real spiritual this morning. So
-
let me remind you.
-
Can you remember at the age of twelve, thirteen, fourteen,
-
for some of you.
-
Where you thought you were in love. Oh, you stayed
-
up all night long on the phone. We didn't have
-
all of the nuances that we have now, Ah, but
-
you would stay on the phone all night long saying nothing,
-
and I do mean saying nothing. Got simply just laying
-
there with the receiver on your pillar, both of you,
-
just breathing, because you said you were in love.
-
Can you remember we used to be.
-
An elder smith that we were afred to court, a
-
fred to date, afred to show any emotions in front
-
of our parents.
-
But this is a new generation.
-
Now folks will look at you right in your face, shut,
-
and you would almost have to suggest that they get
-
a hotel room.
-
But when I was growing up, Ah, you didn't kiss
-
in front of your mama.
-
You didn't hold hands in front of your mama. You
-
didn't act a certain way in front of your mama.
-
You were afraid that you were going to get the
-
Swiss to strap, the brick, the wood, whatever she could find,
-
because you thought you were in love. Some of you
-
have been so in love at twelve and thirteen, at
-
fourteen that when the person would go away for the summer,
-
you would get depressed, not eat, You would get so
-
in your feelings that you would wonder if that person.
-
Was going to live.
-
The enemy understands this thing called feeling. He wants us
-
to understand that most of us are creatures according.
-
To our emotions.
-
What he likes to do is get you in an
-
emotional high and then to drop you down. How some
-
of you have never written a roller coaster, utter, but
-
you know what it is to be on and up
-
and downward swing because the innimal likes.
-
To play with your emotions. Shutter.
-
That's why when you're in the store and they're playing
-
a certain song, it takes you from that day all
-
way back to the day that you met Johnny Ah.
-
One smell of the.
-
Perfume will automatically remind you of that person that you
-
thought was special.
-
But most of us, if you would be honest, shut,
-
you would.
-
Have to admit that there were many times that you
-
thought that you were in love, that you were really
-
in luss Oh Lord, did I say that.
-
I didn't mean to say that happened. Ah.
-
We got so emotionally charged because we thought.
-
He had to be tall, dark and handsome.
-
We thought she had to be like a Coca Cola oliveh.
-
A brick house.
-
Some of you up and so we got so caught
-
up in looking and feeling that we did not realize
-
that love is more than.
-
A feeling that you have to have.
-
A Tina Turner evangelist Tina Turner wrote a song one
-
day and she asked the question, what does love have
-
to do with it? Well, I've come to tell your baby,
-
love has to have a whole lot to do with it.
-
Because two people will walk.
-
Down the aisle, ah, They'll spend thousands of dollars shutting.
-
They would invite two to three to four to five
-
hundred friends. They would pay over two thousand dollars for
-
address suing just to impress folk, cutting base off of the.
-
Fact that they have never gotten to know each other.
-
Sometimes we enter into things shut ah, because we can
-
become detached from them so quick. Such is our text shuting.
-
Our text here lands.
-
Us shutting, Jesus now has a situation. But I'm glad
-
that we serve a situational God. You must know, every
-
character of the Bible teaches us something about God talking,
-
something about them happy, and something about ourselves shucking.
-
So see here our dilemma.
-
In the text sucking, there is a widow happy who
-
is born in the city of name.
-
The husband has died.
-
Thus the text begins to indicate to us, sucking, that
-
she's already lost her husband. But you must understand the
-
customs of the time in Bible days.
-
Shut. When your husband died, it became the responsibility.
-
Of your son to take care of his mother.
-
Shut. Because the mother had no trade. She was not
-
in a count, She was not a school teacher. The
-
mother was not a cook in the cafeteria.
-
She simply did nothing but.
-
Stayed at home and took care of her husband.
-
She didn't know how to do a whole lot of things. Shut.
-
So now with the death of her husband nothing The
-
responsibility has been laid on her son.
-
But what do you do when it looks like all
-
hope is gone?
-
I watched sometimes, and probably Minister Isaac in his will
-
fall chuck.
-
But I watched seeing in and sometimes shut.
-
I've got to learn how to pull away from it,
-
cut the TV off, shut, and put up something better.
-
Because shut, We're living in.
-
A world where folks don't want you to have any hope.
-
They want us to be desperate.
-
If you listen to certain candidates, they would tell you
-
that America is.
-
Going to hell in a head basket.
-
They will tell you that we're in the worst situation
-
we've ever been in before.
-
They were remind you of all.
-
Of the gory details shut that come with life.
-
Shut.
-
But can I tell every Saint of God, I just
-
got happy right there, Smith, I don't care what's going
-
on outside in the world. We serve a God who's
-
able to shield you from what might hurt you. Or
-
I thought y'all would get excited right there. I'm halfway
-
through my message shutting. We serve a God that in
-
a place where there does not look like hope, Cot,
-
there is hope.
-
That's why, Sister Tina.
-
When I hear Sister come on, she's talking about hope, copy,
-
she's talking about prosperity, she's talking about survival. Let something
-
down inside of me gets happy and the Holy.
-
Ghost begins to stir or can you do this?
-
I know I haven't tuned up yet, but I feel
-
the Holy ghost right here. Can you shake a neighbor
-
to buy the hand and tell that neighbor, neighbor, I've
-
got news for you.
-
You got to have home. You got the hold down
-
to those.
-
Things which are eternal, Locky, somebody wrote it and pinned it.
-
My hope is bild, Oh nothing less that Jesus blood
-
and his righteous ness.
-
I dare not trust the speediest.
-
Fray, but holyly on Jesus' name. So the enemy wants
-
to care that's your hope. He wants to get you frustrated.
-
He wants to get you made. He wants you to
-
think there things.
-
Are not going to turn around. There go. He wants
-
to get you to a place where you.
-
Become frustrated, busted, and disgusted. He wants to make you
-
look at the last person that walked out of your life,
-
how bad.
-
They treated you.
-
But I've come this morning, Hecky, to preach hope happen
-
to a generation that's hopeless.
-
Shut.
-
I've come to tell you the last person help me
-
walked out of your life.
-
Shut. But that's all right. Help. Can you tap a neighbor,
-
tell another's coming. Hut. Some of y'all didn't tap.
-
I saw some of my sixty year olds shut, my
-
fifty year olds, and my seventy year olds shut, beginning
-
to wonder, you still have hope, baby, you can still
-
get a husband up, you can still get a wife shut.
-
Oh lord, I see some of y'all singing your hair, saying,
-
I don't think I want no more now. But I've
-
come to tell the church shut that the text this
-
morning dictates to us shut, that there is hope in
-
the midst of what you're going through. See now in
-
our story, because the Bible unfold it help the window
-
of name hap is outside of the city. She's on
-
her way, hap to bury her hope. She's on her
-
way happy to put her hope in the ground.
-
I got to preach now.
-
Jada just went to cleft and hollering like she was
-
saying amen. So I know I got to preach now.
-
The bauble says shot that when this widow has lost
-
her husband, but now she lost her son, what is
-
she going to do? Where where she work? How will
-
she make a living for herself? She doesn't know how
-
to do anything, So all her hope is gone. But
-
I'm so glad that the text gets us excited because
-
the text says something that makes me want to day something.
-
It makes me want to holler. It makes me want
-
to throw a boat my hands shut and give God
-
the praise. Shut. The text says something Jesus is in
-
the city, cooks here.
-
Excuse me, I didn't mean to say that right there,
-
But just tap a neighbor, Say neighbor.
-
Jesus is in the city.
-
And because he's here, you can get what you want happen.
-
Because he's in the room.
-
You can get so healing.
-
Because he's in the room. God's gonna make away for you.
-
Because he's in the room.
-
Memorical signs and wonder, son, I'm getting ready to happen.
-
So our text now shows of Jesus. She Jesus now
-
coming up on the situation. Can you just snap a
-
neighbor snaper one more time, say, neighbor, God is concerned
-
about your situation. The devil offs too take your frustration
-
and turn it into desperation. But I've come to tell
-
you God told me to know you. It won't get
-
that far. Just like the Disciples shot you heard it
-
before they were on the ship.
-
And a storm came up. When they were on the ship.
-
They lost their cool. It looked like they were about
-
to die. They started pelling the water out of the ship.
-
Touch three fours. Tell them, neighbor, some stuff you gotta
-
get rid of. Some people you gotta get rid of,
-
some lopses.
-
You gotta get rid.
-
Of some instagrams. There's some friends you got to deleite
-
because they.
-
Ain't going in the same direction as you're going.
-
Help somebody more.
-
On the ship, they started getting rid of the stuff
-
that was signed away. Them down, and I come to
-
tell her, Tell the church there's a way to fight depression.
-
Start getting off everything that's been bothering her, fogging you down.
-
You got some folks shop. You gotta give me vix
-
and notice to let them know her. Then where I'm going.
-
You can't go with me?
-
Help. I feel the holly gooes there.
-
I don't know if I told you the last time
-
it was your last time, but I hear the holly
-
goo sup saying, shake shut a neighbor by the hay
-
shake that head.
-
He don't shake it off. Tell your neighbor where I'm going.
-
Everybody can't go with me this is where some folks
-
got to get off. This is where I cancel some friends.
-
This is where I let you pack your bags. This
-
is where I moved to the other side of what
-
God has promised me. She now, this widow, she's in
-
the same situation as the men on the ship. While
-
they're pelling, they start to figure out that Jesus, it
-
is just a stone stroll stone, stowaway. And I'm going
-
to tell her, tell this house shut. Don't you now,
-
don't you, Penny, don't you dare.
-
Don't get nervous.
-
Jesus shut is right over her, over there. Help he
-
will he, he will help.
-
He'll help you help.
-
That's why the song right of Road ask to save you,
-
He save you, to help you, help, he.
-
Will bless him keep you. Help Now from a bactress
-
folk shot.
-
So I'm come to tell you how in the middle
-
of what you're going through, see now what God does.
-
Shut. He's going through the city.
-
But I love the text because I read in the
-
text She's.
-
Got her possing all with her help.
-
But when when?
-
When?
-
When?
-
When? When? When? When? When? Help?
-
When?
-
When?
-
When?
-
When? When? When? When? Y'all?
-
What he's going to do next? Look at somebody help
-
tell them all eyes.
-
I'm going to see it. He ain't doing it in private.
-
They saw you with your tears. It was in private.
-
They didn't see your hurt her.
-
It was in private.
-
They didn't see her what you had to give up.
-
It was imprivate. They didn't support you. It was emprivate.
-
But I'm so blad that.
-
God's getting ready to reward him what's been done in
-
secret in publition. God's getting ready to bless you right
-
in front of the folks that's saying you wouldn't make it.
-
God's gonna bless your right in front of the folks
-
that laughter your face. God's getting ready to bless your
-
ride in front of the folk's hut. That's so I
-
cu that middle finger of her. God's getting a ready
-
to bless you her, right in front her. On the critics,
-
the skeptics.
-
The liars, the cheaters, the mistreat the folks up that
-
set you an't gonna be doing, the folks up.
-
That laughs at your calamity her, the folks that watch
-
you go through her. God's getting a ready here to
-
bless you her. And every eye, every eye say somebody.
-
Help say ebry.
-
Eyes go see God's skinny already to bless super.
-
God's skinning a ready to bless super. God's getting ready
-
to bless super God's getting ready to bless you her.
-
God's getting your ready to bless super.
-
And we we God.
-
Bless us ship.
-
He's gonna left you her right and tried up on
-
the cl.
-
Esus seizes the window her going through the city here,
-
but all of a sudden, Jesus shut is moved with compassion.
-
Jesus Shut says to the woman, wipe the tears from.
-
Your eyes, past us around her, pass the box around her.
-
Get you some tissir. You cried all the crazy stuff
-
long enough. You've cried almost crank long enough. You cried
-
almost soothing long enough. How long are you gonna cry?
-
Almost still?
-
Milk CRUs seeing.
-
God cast logs while act, but he's on with her.
-
Another God has sired her fired so but he's a
-
last left day.
-
Hello, Hello, Hello, are you gonna cry?
-
Look at Jesus. He touches the comfort.
-
The boil rising said, can you fall something the last time?
-
Shake a neighbors, You really got to do this one,
-
shake their hands like a goot, singing off her.
-
Tell your neighbors the same.
-
God is gimming lifeship to your dance situation, life to
-
your dreams, life shut to your.
-
Aspiration, life to your goals. And I will restored. But
-
that woulds set the cake of worm.
-
The cattle kettle has even it up like.
-
Like light life, life, Lazarus.
-
Come fork for Lazarus, Come falk for Lazarus.
-
Come farking.
-
Wave your handlever, neighbors hands life. Shall I speak life?
-
Come I spreak life, I spreak life, God, God, Who
-
did I say?
-
God is about to give life to your dead situation?
-
When he raises the boy, he returns hope to a
-
mother who has lost everything. He heals the family, He
-
restores her joy. He puts her back in a place
-
where she thought she had lost everything. But now God
-
gives her.
-
Back everything.
-
That she needs.
-
Drink of God's about to give you back everything that
-
you need.
-
I've learned.
-
This has become.
-
A reoccurring thing because you can imagine there were some
-
days that my son sits there and the enemy tries
-
to speaking his spirit, but I constantly remind him.
-
We read it. It's Romans eight and twenty eight. It says,
-
we read it. It says, and we know all things
-
work together for good to those who love God, those
-
who will called according to His purpose.
-
But the original transliteration says, in all things God works.
-
Let me say that again.
-
The original translation says, in all things God works, and
-
he works for it to come to our good.
-
So even when you don't understand it, I've gone miles
-
down the road.
-
And had to repent because what I thought was the
-
devil was really God. I've come to submit to you
-
that nothing happens.
-
On God's watch.
-
Unless he allows it. So everything that happens to you,
-
God is allowing it. But the Bible says there is
-
no temptation, there is no trial that he allows, but
-
such is coming to man. In other words, somebody else
-
has been through what killed you, or y'all just missed me.
-
Somebody else has gone through what killed somebody else didn't
-
kill you. And when you begin to look at that,
-
you come to the conclusion of recognizing that the God
-
they don't talk about this anymore, smith, the God that
-
we serve as sovereign. He can do what he wants to,
-
when he wants to, how he wants to the seasoned
-
saints in the church, I go say. He's God off
-
by himself. He doesn't need anybody else. So since he's
-
sovereign everything that he allows, he allows it brother down
-
for a purpose. I don't always see the purpose at
-
the time. Can I be real, real, real candidate? Because
-
you know, at the time it hurts like hell. You
-
can't see how God is going to use that thing
-
to bring you to a better place. But I promise
-
you years down the line. It's why the Season Saints
-
wrote a song say soul, look back in wonder.
-
How I made it over.
-
I close with this. You've been in some things, You've
-
gone through some things. Well, you've told the devil if
-
one more thing happens, I'm gonna lose my mind. But
-
you still have your mind. It's because we serve a
-
God who can take every situation.
-
And bring it to our benefit.
-
I've come to tell you this is the season of
-
your life where you're going to have to trust God
-
in everything if he allows.
-
It to happen. Like it, and it's okay for you
-
not to like it, Dick, It's okay.
-
I don't. I don't agree with it. This ain't how
-
I would have read the script. This ain't what I
-
want to deal with.
-
But God, if you are allowing it, there's a purpose
