  1. Good evening. Welcome to Voice in the Wilderness. I'm Don

  2. Noble with Pure Heart Ministries, and I welcome you tonight

  3. with exceedingly abundantly and overflowing joy. I hope you had

  4. a glorious resurrection weekend. Obviously, many of us we enjoy

  5. being with our family, but most of all our focus

  6. is on remembering what Christ did for us, the shedding

  7. of his blood on the cross, and what that did

  8. for you and I. So tonight I'm going to be

  9. talking about is the blood necessary? That's the title? Is

  10. the blood necessary? In other words, Jesus blood. Was it

  11. necessary that he shed that blood? Did he need to

  12. do that? I'm going to give you. Let's see, I

  13. think I have nine reasons, Yes, nine reasons the shedding

  14. of Jesus blood was necessary. The first is we're going

  15. to be reading out of Hebrews chapter nine, verses eleven

  16. through fourteen. I'm going to be reading out of the

  17. New King James version only this evening. And just a

  18. little aside, I have an allergic cough that's disturbing me,

  19. and so I have a loss enge in my throat

  20. and I'm hoping that I don't cough as I share

  21. this information with you tonight. Number one, the blood of

  22. Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice for the cleansing and forgiveness

  23. of sin. So let's look at these set of scriptures

  24. here Hebrews nine eleven through fifteen. But Christ came as

  25. high priest of the good things to come, with a

  26. greater and more perfect ten tabernacle not made with hands,

  27. that is not of this creation, Not with the blood

  28. of goats and calves, but with his own blood. He

  29. entered the most holy place once for all, having obtained

  30. eternal redemption. For if the blood of bulls and goats

  31. and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean sanctifies

  32. for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall

  33. the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered

  34. himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead

  35. works to serve the living God. And for this reason

  36. he is the mediator of the New Covenant by means

  37. of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the

  38. First Covenant, that those who are called may receive the

  39. promise of the internal of the eternal inheritance. The blood

  40. of bulls and goats only covered the sins of those

  41. under that old covenant in the Old Testament, it only

  42. covered their sins temporarily. And it covered their sins. That's

  43. a keyword, covered their sins, And the next keyword is temporarily.

  44. But Jesus' blood removed our sins permanently. And I like

  45. what it says here. How much more shall the blood

  46. of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit, offered himself without spot,

  47. meaning he was holy without sin. With that spot he offered,

  48. Jesus offered himself to God to do what to cleanse

  49. your conscience and my conscience from dead works, to serve

  50. the living God. Without that actually happening, you and I

  51. would never have had a chance of having a clean conscience,

  52. and it would have been very difficult for us to

  53. serve the living God. But verse fifteen says for this reason,

  54. Jesus is the mediator of the New Covenant, how by

  55. means of his death. So it took him dying, It

  56. took him shedding his blood to redeem us from the

  57. transgressions or sins under that first covenant, that old covenant,

  58. that those who are called may receive the promise, that's

  59. you and I to receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

  60. Eternal inheritance that means life with God forever. Hallelujah. Number two.

  61. The Blood established a new covenant built on better promises.

  62. Let's look at Hebrews eight. We're already in the book

  63. of Hebrews, look at chapter eight and verse six. But

  64. now he Jesus has obtained a more excellent ministry inas

  65. much as he is also mediator of a better covenant

  66. which was established on better promises. Have you ever thought

  67. to yourself, what does it mean to have a better covenant.

  68. I'll give you an example. Under the old Covenant, we

  69. know that one of the laws of Moses was thou

  70. shalt not commit adultery. So in the Old Testament, if

  71. you committed adultery, you were stoned to death. Ooh, think

  72. about today, how many people have committed adultery. Probably a

  73. whole lot of people. But if you're a believer, we

  74. have the ability to confess our sin and be cleansed

  75. from that sin. And if we've already asked forgiveness of

  76. that sin, let's just say, prior to becoming a Christian,

  77. that sin is forgotten, never to be brought up again.

  78. If you commit that sin again, as a believer, you

  79. have the ability to confess your sins and know that

  80. Jesus will cleanse you from your sin. Jesus isn't going

  81. to throw rocks and stone you to death. So this

  82. is a better covenant with a better promise. They did

  83. not have the promise when the High Priest went into

  84. the Holy of Holies and sprinkled the blood. That didn't

  85. mean that these people had eternal salvation. So we have

  86. a better promise. We have an eternal inheritance verse fifteen.

  87. In chapter nine, we just read we have an eternal

  88. the promise of an eternal inheritance, we get to inherit

  89. eternal life. I mean. So this is definitely a new,

  90. better covenant built on better promises. I think you would

  91. have to say, amen. And I'm just giving you like

  92. one or two examples. Number three, the blood cleanses and

  93. purifies us from all sin. So if you turn two

  94. first John Chapter one, verse seven, and John writes, but

  95. if we meaning we believers, if we walk in the

  96. light as he is in the light, we have fellowship

  97. with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his

  98. son cleanses us from all sin. It doesn't get any

  99. clearer than that. So we have been cleansed from all sin.

  100. And as we continue to walk in the light, we

  101. know Jesus is in the light, and we want to

  102. walk in the light always as well. We don't want

  103. to walk in darkness. Number four, The blood provides reconciliation

  104. and peace with God. So turn to the Book of Collostions,

  105. chapter one and versus twenty and twenty one twenty twenty

  106. twenty one, twenty two. It says, and by him Jesus

  107. to reconcile all things to himself, by him, whether things

  108. on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through

  109. the blood of his cross. And you who were once

  110. alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, Yet

  111. now He has reconciled in the body of his flesh

  112. through death, to present you holy and blameless and above

  113. reproach in his sight. Isn't that amazing? So Jesus death

  114. on the cross reconciled all things to himself and made

  115. peace through the blood of his cross, so that you

  116. and I are no longer enemies of God. If you

  117. are a believer in Christ, you're no longer his enemy.

  118. Who would want to be God's enemy? Yaoza. I mean, yet,

  119. before we knew Christ, we were all enemies of God.

  120. And I venture to say most people don't even realize that,

  121. not being born again, they are enemies of God. So

  122. verse twenty one. And you once who once were alienated

  123. and enemies, think about the enemies in your mind. Of course,

  124. by wicked works. You hear people all the time they

  125. say bad things about God, and they don't have any

  126. desire for the things of God. And you know they'll blaspheme,

  127. they'll I mean, they'll curse, they'll say all kinds of crazy,

  128. wicked things. But he reconciled, He reconciled them to himself.

  129. He reconciled all things to himself. How to do that

  130. in the b body of his flesh through death. That's

  131. what his death accomplished. In other words, that's what the

  132. blood accomplished. That blood helped us to have peace with

  133. God and reconciliation. That's a big deal. Okay. Number five,

  134. The blood defeated the devil, and we have power and

  135. victory over sin, sickness, and death. Turned to the Book

  136. of Revelation chapter twelve, verse eleven, and they overcame him.

  137. Who's him? Who do they overcome Satan. And they overcame

  138. Satan by the blood of the Lamb and by the

  139. word of their test snemony, and they did not love

  140. their lives to the death. So how do we have

  141. that victory over the devil by the blood of the lamb.

  142. Jesus is the Lamb of God. He was slain before

  143. the foundation, and then we see that he died on

  144. the cross and shed his blood, so he defeated the devil.

  145. That blood he shed defeated the devil and gave us

  146. power and victory over sin, sickness, and death. So we

  147. overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb. That's where

  148. the power is. See pay attention to that. The power

  149. comes by the blood of the Lamb, by the blood

  150. of Jesus Christ. You could never overcome sin, sickness, death, hell,

  151. and the grave without the blood of the Lamb. Not possible.

  152. But we now have that reconciliation and we have that

  153. peace with God, and we've overcome Satan by the blood

  154. of the Lamb because of Jesus' blood. Can you shout

  155. Hallelujah number six? The blood provides supernatural protection and we

  156. can turn to Exodus twelve Exodus twelve. And of course

  157. we're talking here about passover. And if we look at

  158. verse we'll look at if you look at the verses

  159. in Exodus twelve, like verses one through let's say Versus

  160. one through ten, it's talking about taking a lamb each.

  161. Each family had to take a lamb, and then they

  162. were to This had to be a lamb without blemish,

  163. a male of the first cheer, and then the whole

  164. assembly had to kill it at twilight. And they had

  165. to take some of the blood and put it on

  166. the two doorposts and on the lintel that's the top

  167. part of the door of the houses where they eat it.

  168. Then they shall eat the flesh on that night, roasted

  169. in fire, with unloven bread and bitter herbs. They shall

  170. eat it. And they were told not to eat it

  171. raw or boiled, but roasted in fire fire. And thus

  172. verse eleven, thus you shall eat it with a belt

  173. on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your

  174. staff in your hands. So you shall eat it in haste.

  175. It is the Lord's passover. So they took that hissip,

  176. dipped it in the blood of that lamb that was sacrificed.

  177. They put that blood on the doorpulse on the lintel.

  178. And then verse twelve says, for I will pass through

  179. the land of Egypt on that night. This is the

  180. Lord speaking, and I will strike all the first born

  181. in the land of Egypt, both man and beast, and

  182. against all the gods of Egypt. I will execute judgment.

  183. I am the Lord. Now the blood shall be assigned

  184. for you on the houses where you are. I'm in

  185. Exodus twelve, verse thirteen. And when I see the blood,

  186. I will pass over you, and the plague shall not

  187. be on you to destroy you when I strike the

  188. land of Egypt. So this day shall be to you

  189. a memorial, and you shall keep it as a feast

  190. to the Lord throughout your generations. You shall keep it

  191. as a feast by an everlasting ordinance. Now I want

  192. to go down to verse twenty nine Exodus twelve, twenty nine.

  193. And it came to pass at midnight that the Lord

  194. struck all the first born in the land of Egypt,

  195. from the first born of Pharaoh who sat on his throne,

  196. to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon,

  197. and all the first born of the livestock. So Pharaoh

  198. rose in the night he and all his servants and

  199. all the Egyptians. And there was a great cry in Egypt,

  200. for there was not a house where there was not

  201. one dead. And so the oh I got ahead of myself.

  202. Here verse twenty two. And you shall take a bunch

  203. of hissup, dip it in the blood that's in the basin,

  204. strike the lentil and the two doorposts with the blood,

  205. and none of you shall go out of the door

  206. of his house until morning, for the Lord will pass

  207. through to strike the Egyptians. And when he sees the

  208. blood on the lentil and the two door posts, the

  209. Lord will pass over the door and not allow the

  210. destroyer to come into your houses to strike you. And

  211. you shall observe this thing as an ordinance for you

  212. and your sons forever. And it will come to pass

  213. when you come to the land which the Lord will

  214. give you, just as he promised, that you shall keep

  215. this service. And it shall be when your children say

  216. to you, what do you mean by this service, that

  217. you shall say, it is the passover sacrifice of the

  218. Lord who passed over the houses of the children of

  219. Israel in Egypt when he struck the Egyptians and delivered

  220. our households. So the people bowed their heads and worshiped. Okay,

  221. have you ever wondered why the Lord said to them,

  222. you're going to keep this service, this passover forever, because

  223. he already knew that Jesus was gonna be a sacrifice,

  224. and he would be the one sacrifice that was going

  225. to take care of everything. So this was a picture

  226. of what was to come in the future. And so

  227. that blood provided supernatural protection for these people. The death

  228. angel could not touch those homes, those houses that had

  229. the blood that was struck on the doorposts and the lintel.

  230. The destroyer, the angel of Death, had to pass over.

  231. That's why it's called passover, had to pass over those houses.

  232. But it says there wasn't a house in Egypt where

  233. there was not one dead. So the blood of Jesus,

  234. now that wasn't the blood of Jesus. That was just

  235. the blood of a lamb. But now look forward, we

  236. know that Jesus is the lamb of God. Remember John

  237. the Baptist, when he saw Jesus, he said, whoa behold

  238. the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of

  239. the world. So it's the blood of Jesus that provides

  240. supernatural protection. If the blood of a real lamb could

  241. provide supernatural protection from death, imagine back then, what do

  242. you think the blood of Jesus can provide for you

  243. and I? The blood of Jesus is stronger than death. Amen.

  244. So it's an amazing picture. I love reading this because

  245. you can see what happened then and then we look

  246. to the future and we see Jesus shedding his blood

  247. on the cross. He's the perfect sacrifice. He's the perfect

  248. lamb that shed his blood for you and I. And

  249. that blood, oh, the blood of Jesus. That blood is

  250. stronger than death. That blood provides supernatural protection over you

  251. and I. And if no one ever taught you, I'm

  252. gonna tell you tonight. You know, I hung around those

  253. old Pentecostals growing up, and they would plead the blood.

  254. Why because they understood the power of the blood. You

  255. don't even hear people talking about the blood of Jesus anymore.

  256. I've said this many times. You know, churches don't sing

  257. about the blood. In fact, they refuse to sing about

  258. the blood. They won't preach about the blood, they won't

  259. teach about the blood. And therefore, you know, people are

  260. just not being taught well. Number one. Number two, this

  261. is a truth that's so powerful. You know, no wonder

  262. the enemy has infiltrated the church. Can I just get

  263. to the point here. The enemy has infiltrated the Church

  264. of America to weaken it, to soften it, so that

  265. Christians no longer walk in the power of the Blood

  266. of Jesus, in the authority of the Blood of Jesus.

  267. And then you know, he wins. So he weakens the church.

  268. And that's where we are, anemic church that does not

  269. know how to stand, does not know how to war against.

  270. You know, our enemy, we have a fierce enemy. Number seven.

  271. The blood gives us access to enter the most holy place.

  272. Now we're going to go back to the Book of Hebrews,

  273. chapter ten and verse nineteen. And let me say this

  274. before I even read that scripture. I said this before.

  275. I'm going to say it again because not everyone listens

  276. to every program. But Hebrews is a book that if

  277. you get this under your belt and you really understand

  278. the Book of Hebrews, it will really bring a lot

  279. of freedom to you. This is a powerful book. And

  280. even though we don't know who exactly wrote it. It

  281. was written to hebrew Christians, that's for sure, Jewish Christians,

  282. that's who the writer's writing to. So makes you think

  283. that Paul wrote the book, and it does sound like

  284. his writing. But this Book of Hebrews, let me tell you,

  285. it is so chocked full of nuggets, gold nuggets that

  286. if you if you begin to chew on this word

  287. in the Book of Hebrews, you begin to chew and

  288. meditate and chew and meditate on the scriptures in the

  289. Book of Hebrews, it's gonna do so it's going to

  290. change you. It's gonna change you, I guarantee you, because

  291. you know, we know that there's power in the Word

  292. of God, and that word is life giving and it

  293. changes us it. You know, it renews our mind right,

  294. it changes our wrong thinking, our bad thinking, our anemic thinking.

  295. And it's just an incredible book. I I just I

  296. want to encourage you to really spend time just chewing

  297. and meditating in this fabulous book. But I'm looking at

  298. the time and I'm not even gonna go there. I

  299. was going to number seven, but I don't have time

  300. to get into that. We'll finish that next week. But

  301. again I just encourage you to, you know, maybe listen

  302. to this message again so you're understanding about why the

  303. Blood of Jesus is so necessary, so vital, so important

  304. to us as believers. And again study the Book of

  305. Hebrews chew and meditate on it. Well, this is Don Noble.

  316. is so important, it's just so vital, and your seed

  317. is vital. I need you to sow a seed. So

  318. I'm really asking you to ask the Lord about that.

  319. Many of you, many many of you listen to this

  320. program weekly and you have never sown a seed to

  321. this ministry. And I know people who tell me they

  322. listen all the time and I've never received anything. So

  323. it's you know, if you're listening every week, that makes

  324. me think you want to listen. So would you please

  325. consider sowing a seed to the ministry so I look

  326. forward to being with you again next week. This is

  327. Don Noble saying Shalom shalom, Peace be unto you
