You're listening to a message to go from acts church. We hope this message

will light up your day. So we want to go to Luke chapter twenty

one, and I want us to read it together. The reason why I

didn't put it out on the slides because I think sometimes we are spoon feeding

you guys too much. Okay, you need to know the word of God

for yourself, right, don't just believe everything that we just say. I

can be lying, you know, Oh, I know the eyes is like

what. Yes. In fact, we live in such a world that there

is so much lies that is bombarding us, and we don't even know the

truth, right, and you know that the only truth that we have is

in the Word of God. So let's go to God's word and read it,

all right. And it's a long passage. And I purposally want to

give you time to read this passage because sometimes I feel when we take one

verse here, I take one worse there, it doesn't give us the full

context breath of the message. Okay, So we're gonna be reading from Luke

chapter twenty one, verses eight to thirty six. Okay, eight to thirty

six or thirty seven. Let's see where we go. But very importantly,

just remember, okay, if you have your physical bibles, the words that

you see in rad huh what does that mean? Yeah? Yeah, okay,

is what Jesus is saying directly. Okay, so hear these words from

our Lord Jesus. Okay. A little bit of context is that where this

was happening, Jesus was walking around a woman had put in two mics right

into the temple treasury, and you know, he Jesus actually saw that,

and Jesus said, wow, this woman has given so much. Right.

And then of course the disciples were wowing the temple. Of course, today

we don't have any temple to enter, right, so, but in those

days they had in Jesus' time, and they were looking at such beautiful buildings,

you know, laden we go and and ornaments and stuff like that.

And then of course Jesus said that these things, whatever you see today,

will be gone. He prophesied, right today, can you see it now?

No, Jesus was came through, it was gone. There is no

temple now now. So then so the disciples were like, oh, what

do you mean at that time? Can you have to imagine at the time

when they still had that temple when they still had all these things, and

Jesus was prophesying into the future into twenty twenty three that the disciples two thousand

years oh, go do not know? Can you imagine? That's the two

thousand year get now between what we're reading and what's happening today. But God's

prophecies all come true. And okay, so let's read from verse eight.

Okay, I'm gonna read from the NK JV version. And he says,

and he said this, take heed that you not be deceived. For many

will come in my name, saying I am he, and the time has

drawn near. Therefore not go after them. But when you hear wars and

commotions, do not be terrified, for these things must come to pass first.

But the end will not come immediately. Then he said to them,

nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be

great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences, and there will be

fearful sights and great signs from heaven. But before all these things, they

will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the

synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers from my namesake.

But it will turn out for you and occasion for testimony. Therefore,

settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer,

for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not

be able to contradict or resist. You will be betrayed even by parents and

brothers, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death,

and you will be hated by all for my name's sake. But not

a hair on your head shall be lost. By your patience. Possess your

souls Verse twenty. But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know

that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to

the mountains, Let those who are in the midst of her depart, and

let not those who are in the country enter her. For these are the

days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. Verse

twenty, true, tingy tree, But woe to those who are pregnant and

to those who are nursing babies in those days. But there will be great

distress in the land and wrath upon all these people. They will fall by

the age of the sword, and will be led away captives into all nations,

and Jerusalem will be trampled by gentiles until the time of the gentiles are

fulfilled. And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon,

and in the stars, and on the earth, distress of nations with perplexity,

and the sea and the waves roaring, men's hearts failing them for fear

and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth. For the

powers of the heavens will be shaken Verse twenty seven. Then they will see

the Son of men, who's the Son of men, Jesus. Then they

will see the Sun of Men coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

Now, when these things begin to happen, look up and let your

heads, because your redemption draws near. And then he spoke to them a

parable Look at the fig tree and all the trees when they are already budding.

You see and know for yourselves that summer is now near. So you

also, when you see this thing's happening, know that the Kingdom of God

is near. Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no

means pass away. Till all things take place, heaven and earth will pass

away. But my words will by no means pass away Verse thirty four.

But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down by carusing drunkenness

and the cares of these lives. And that day come on you unexpectedly,

for it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face

of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you will be

counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to

stand before the Son of Man. Amen, will stop there made the Lord

add to the reading of his way. Amen. Wow. Probably that's the

most Bible reading you read this week? Right, Okay, good, we

are off to a good start for this week. Now when you read the

world, what what emotions are arising in you? What are you thinking about?

What's what's thinking for you? Talk to me? Talk to me?

Okay? So, so anyone, how are you feeling as you read this?

Or what thoughts do you have? Anyone? It's a lot. It's

a long passage. I know you would you need to go home and really

meditate and unpack it back. What is the first impression that you get as

you read all this, anyone, Yeah, I can't hear I can't read

lips, so I need to hear your voice. Anyone come scary? Yeah,

Do not fear? Do not be fearful? Right right? At the same

time, right, there is a feeling of being afraid, and yet there

is an exaltation from the lot to not be afraid? Thank you? What

else? What else? Anyone else? To be alert? Yeah? Thank

you? Passal glord to to be alert? Right now is the time to

really open our eyes and to see what's happening. One more response, anyone

there is a sense of like, hey, I think God's word is REALA

keep watch? That's excellent? Thank you you, Benny. And that's kind

of like where I want to go to. Now, what is the Okay,

let's go to verse eight. Right, let's just go back to verse

eight. What is the first words that Jesus said, take heat? Now?

Take heat? Right? What does it? These days? We don't

go around saying to each other, take heat, take heat? Right,

It's like okay, old English, right, but today what will we say?

Watch out, keep watch jagga jagga? Right. I don't know how

else you're saying in Chinese memory what you're saying, huh jewey chwey dowey okay

right right? So sorry saying okay, ken denys a coming ready? Right?

So so Jesus is saying, say mark right, Jesus saying take heat?

What what does this word mean? Take heat? Right? And you

know what it means, right. It means to have understanding. Right.

It comes from this Greek word called blippo. Okay, if you like to

name your kid Blipole, can My name is Blipole. I'm always keeping watch.

It means to have understanding. It means to discern mentally, to observe

of what's happening, to understand what's going on in our world. And I

thought it was very interesting to know that it was to turn our thoughts or

to direct our mind to a thing. You know, how we can direct

our minds to something. It means in the simpler terms, it means to

focus. Right. When I asked you to focus on something, you're like,

okay, I have to put away my phone, like now right now,

right, I say, focus on the word. Don't look at your

phone. Then you turn your mind to me. Right, we can always

turn our minds on. Right, guys, do not be deceived that it's

like, oh no, I cannot control myself. Right, pasa gloriacid in

the verse earlier. Right, we have the not the spirit of fear,

but of love, power, and sound mind or self discipline, A son

of mind. Me, you have self discipline? Right, So enough or

whatever is draining you or distracting you, let's take heat. Now what do

we take heat? Hop? Right, that's very important. Now this other

word that I will bring to you, and this is kind of like I'm

gonna take Benny's queue on watch right, keep watch. You know, Jesus

always told his disciples to keep watching. You. Do you remember when was

the most you know, significant time and Jesus told his disciples to keep watch?

When was it? Do you remember an incident. Yes, great when

when Jesus was at the Garden of Seremony. Right, this was just the

day before Jesus was crucified. Yes, the next day Jesus is going to

be crucified the night before h And as they did the Lord Supper and all

that. Right, and Jesus went to pray, right, and he told

his disciples keep watch, keep watch, and pray. I'm gonna go over

there to pray, but you just keep watching it. Okay, again,

this is one of the disciples. Okay, So Jesus had told disciples,

and then what happened to them? Ah for asleep, don't fall asleep,

Ah, don't fall asleep right now? So the disciples Jesus told them to

keep watch. And in the Greek right, this word has two different Greek

words that that denotes this keeping watch is gregorio and a group neo. It

means to stay awake, stay awake, be sleepless, don't sleep, don't

sleep, but many Christians are sleeping ouch, don't sleep. Wake up,

guys, wake up. Jesus is saying we need to wake up. Don't

be slumbering. You're like to slumber, right, don't slumber or sleep And

another word. You know, you know jagger right, a guard a person

who's on guard like your jagger and your guard house. And how do they

keep watch? Basically, they have to be awake, right, they have

to be firstly, be awakeass so wake up church. Firstly, we have

to be awake. But what do they do when they're awake? They need

to see they see the TV CC TV. Okay, they need they need

to do something right. Firstly, they just need to be awake. Second

thing, they need to observe. They need to look out. They need

to be vigilant. Can you imagine your gut? Your God is like like

that on their land, so, you know, like the kind of thing.

It's very funny because in my neighborhood there are some guards. Right.

It's very weird because it's not it's an old housing area, but it's not

gated and goded kind of thing. But you know, some people they just

want to parallel their road, the kind of thing you know, they have,

you know, something on their side. And so I will walk past

one one one one of the roads right, and then there will be a

gud house and every time walk past, right, the filler is watching his

TV's his phone, I'm like, wow, great job, guard. It

doesn't metter like you're just there. Sometimes you can be like that, right,

we can just be there and nobody knows why we're there or there is

no impact whatsoever. But a real guard and God causes are in ezecure to

be watchmen. When you're watchmen, when you're on duty, what do you

do if you're if you're on duty that time, when you're a watchman,

what do you do? What are you looking at? Yeah, you're you're

scanning the horizon right, like like mission impossible. Enemy is any enemy coming

to attack? And once enemy comes, you sound the alert. That's what

a watchman is. That's what being alert and being vigilant is. That's how

watchful we have to be, right, and so today we want to learn

how can we be fully fully alert in God? You know, and you

know that these days in fact, right, I personally believe that Jesus would

come back either in my lifetime or in my child's lifetime. That's my personal

belief. I don't know about you. I don't know when exactly, but

it's gonna be soon. Yes, it's sooner than we think. Don't think

that. Oh I'm gonna live my life. You know, Jesus gonna take

another two thousands. If he does take two thousand years, it's up to

him. Right. But the signs are all coming together, especially with what

you see in the Middle East, right and someone you know, you might

say, is God silent right now? Or what's happening over Israel? What

do you think God's doing right now? He's just like, oh no,

the poor people. I cannot do anything about it right now? Is that

how God is responding? Well, what do you think is happening for God?

To try and think about it? What's going on in God's mind right

now? You think? Alright, blasm as el the roads. You ask

us to think like God, let it. But you know, sometimes we

need to go into the mind of Christ. We need to go into what

God is thinking about to understand the signs of the times. Yeah, so

let's let's go. Okay, So how do we then become spiritually watchful?

Right? We know how it is like to be watching in the physical to

watch out for alert and danger, but how do we do this in our

spirit? All right? So I the first thing is this, and this

is all taken from Luke twenty one. I just give you five points.

All right. Number one, we must be wary of deception. Yes,

yes, do you know what being wary is? Be careful, jagga jagga

against deception. Now I'm going to spend the most time here. What are

some of the deceptions or the lies that you think that the Christians have believed

in have fallen under. What are some of the lies of the enemies.

What do you think is our threat right now? What is the greatest deception

to the church? Yeah? Great? Number one, Jesus is not coming

back or he's not coming back soon. Right, That is a lie.

And you can go around having a great time in service, a great time

in church, in your cell group, you know, in homes and be

doing your work, have a great family, and you will be under a

lie. You will live under a lie because you are thinking that Jesus is

not coming back, and therefore there is no sense of urgency, there is

no sense of commission or mission in your life because it's like, okay,

you know, as long as my life is happy, that's fine. Right.

So number one lie is that Jesus is not coming back. But hello,

news to you. Whether you believe in Jesus or not Jesus, is

you coming back? That's reality, tea, And that means the Bible tells

us that we one day we will all stand before God and give an account

of our lives. Are you ready to do that? Are you ready?

Do you know that the message that Christians bring to the world is not so

much a message of love and peace? You know? Yes, there is

that as well, But the greatest message that we bring to others is a

message of reconciliation. Do you know what that is? That means you are

a red consult with God. I just received this, you know, just

even this week someone asked me. I mean, as we're thinking about how

do we share the gospel with people, right, and sometimes we go with

the whole Oh, God loves you, you know, you know? And

and it's very hard for people to understand God's love because in their mindset,

right, love is so tinted. Love means I get what I want.

Correct. Another deception means, if God loves people, then why is he

allowing people to die? Yes? Can you see that? Understanding is a

deception that God is love, But we are not understanding in its full context.

God's love means the very definition of agapet. Love means I'm doing I'm

willing to sacrifice myself for someone's highest grod. Think about it that way.

People don't understand that love means I get what I want. That is a

selfish kind of love, right, But God's love is very different. So

we have to help people define love in God's way. But the greatest message

that we need to bring to our friends out there someone prayed earlier this morning,

Nate right, the whole cheer us. They need to know that Jesus

is coming back. And when you know it will be a root shock for

you one day and you say, oh no, nobody told me that there's

this Jesus. Nobody told me that he's gonna come back and that there will

be judgment. And one day I'm gonna see him and he's gonna judge my

life, whether good or bad. There is gonna be a judgment day.

If you don't believe. Another lie is that Heaven and Hell don't exist.

Right. And one of the greatest deceptions maybe for Christians, is that all

of us will be safe one and it's okay if you don't have to do

anything about it. God is so good, ma, correct. God is

so good, he won't allow anyone to go to hell? Do you believe

that? Do you believe that there is a hell and that there will be

people who are going to Hell? I don't know what that is to you,

but that puts fear of God in my heart. That means I have

every much potential as the next person next to me to possibly enter Hell.

Do you know why I say that? Because originally none of us. God

did not create hell. Okay, God did not create hell. Hell was

created by us. Hell was created when there was sin on earth. Right,

there is a consequence to sin. And if we believe that all have

sin and falling short of God's glory means all of us deserve that. Yes,

So don't be surprised that you die on earth newsflesh, we will all

die. Don't be surprised, love, we will all die. It's already

sin, right, and we fight against it. That's how you buy anti

aging cream. That's why we want to eat all the supplements so we can

live longer, stronger, right because innately we don't want to die. Anyone

can want to die nobody and God did not intend that for us, but

because of sin. And God is a person who's righteous and just, he

will still need to punish all the unjust things that happens in this world.

Right, you want fairness. God has been fair, He's just. He

will meet out that judgment to all of us, but only by the grace

of our Lord Jesus Christ. That those who believe in Him, who profess

in Him, who believes that He came to pay for our sins, we

are now a reconciled with God. This is our message, guys, This

is the message that we need to bring to the world that we are okay

with God before this, no matter how successful you are, no matter how

rich, no matter how many things you have, no matter how beautiful you

are, if you are not recon that means you're not okay. Okay,

you will have everything in life or you will have nothing in life. But

until you are okay with your God, the one who created you, it's

not gonna be okay. But does that mean that, ask Christians? After

we are okay, we got, we are reconcile, we got all our

troubles are over. Far from it, you know why, right, Because

we're still on this earth. So I want us to be very careful about

the things that we are thinking about how we are behaving. There are many

many deceptions, guys, many many deceptions, even amongst the elite. And

you are called the elite of God. Right, wow, eliite a membership

club. Right, this is not membership club. Like, guys, we

are called the sons and daughters of God. Do you recognize your identity?

Do you recognize your authority? And therefore when we recognize you know? Another

deception is that, oh you you come from what background? Want which compone?

Are you no background, no education? How can you be effect as

Christ as a servant of Christ? Right? No, we don't live with

our skills, our background, our experience, our language. I cannot share

Christ load because I put no. Just say yes, Sus, you know

Jesus in Bahasa, whatever language. Just tell them that Jesus is real and

he is coming back. He is coming back. Guys, this, if

you don't know anything, this, whatever is happening in Israel, is proof

that the God of the Israelites Israel, that the God of Jews is real.

Do you know that if people will say I don't believe, okay,

people will argue with you about whose land does it belong to? Right?

Right? Like who's been there first. And I would say it depends on

how long you look back into history. If you look back at fifty years

ago, yeah, maybe the people were there first, right, and this

dispersed people. The Jews came back later on. But if you look back

two thousand years ago, if you look back four thousand years ago, way

back in the book of Genesis, who did God give that land to Abraham?

So the title, you know, the whole earth belongs to God.

Yes, the whole earth belongs to God. And out of every piece of

land on the earth, God say this specific small piece of land I give

to my people called the Jews. And time and time again you can see

over four thousand years right that they have tried to completely destroy the Jewish people.

No other nation, no other tongue, has been oppressed as the Jewish

people. None other you can look in the history, none other has been

so you know, sought after, do you know, like the whole hamas

the entire agenda, you know what the agenda or not it's written on their

you know, I don't know what it call their charter. Our charter is

to wipe out every Jew That's it. Our sole purpose for being an organization

is to wipe out every Jew and on. If you think about it on

a humanitarian basis, that's not right. Right, every person has a right

to live, but why are they so targeted? Because I believe this is

a very demonic attack. Whatever that you're seeing right now, please don't look

at it just from a human level, understand it from a spiritual level.

This is very demonic. It is a spiritual battle like you might see it

from flesh and blood, right, people dying on that. But it's a

very very Prince of darkness kind of situation right now. It's a battle,

right, So just be very careful about what we also begin to think about

it, right, be worry about deception. There are many deceptions, There

are many guruls out there. So please can you keep watch over what you're

listening to, keep watch over what you're reading because news, right, I'm

reading both sides of news. I'm reading or I'm listening to teaching from Christian

Jewish pastors, but I'm also listening to what my ex colleagues from my previous

company are saying. And you know what happened in our school recently, Yes

you don't know what happened. Try and read up this whole solidarity, solidarity

for Palestine. It's affecting our school children across the nation. This is like

I don't know issuance by the Ministry of Education. No, guys, our

government is involved. So we are battling against something much much bigger than ourselves.

Right. But you know what, as much as it's bigger than the

Church, our God is bigger in man. Our God is much much bigger

than what you see. And you I feel very helpless. You might feel

like, oh no, what can I do? So this is what we

need to do. We need to watch right, be very firstly deceptions that

we are taking off ourselves, but also what's going on. So you just

got a senseller, guys can filter a little bit of what you're reading.

And the best filter is what everything that you read? What is God's words

say? What is God teaching us? What is the plan? What is

God's kingdom? And when you're able to use the Bible as the filter you're

glass, then you'll be like, ah, I know what's happening. I

know what God is doing right now. He is fulfilling his prophecy. You

might not see it's like no, but God is fulfilling his prophecy. Amen,

So be wary of deception. That's number one. Number two, to

not be afraid. What did Jesus say the second word? He says,

right, but when you hear a wars and commotions, do not be terrified.

Okay, don't be afraid. Like, guys again, when you already

know what's gonna happen. And I encourage you to read the Book of Revelation.

I know, not an easy book to read. La, Okay,

basically, let me some you want the summary of revelation. Okay. The

summary is this, Things are gonna get worse, guys, much worse before

it gets better. And when Jesus comes back it will all be okay.

That is a summary of the entire Bible. Things are gonna get worse,

so be prepared. Things are gonna get worse. It's gonna get harder.

Things are so expensive, now do you feel it? I feel it every

time I go ou, I'm like, oh my gosh, I don't want

to spend money. Everything's so expensive and it's gonna squeeze us. Right,

and when when things that begins to rob us and makes us uncomfortable, then

we get worried. We get worried, and Jesus is don't be afraid.

All these things will come to us. Who are you? Who are you?

You are the sons and daughters of God. So what if you go

hungry, So what if you lose your house, You will not lose your

salvation because at the end of the day, remember right, this life,

we won't be able to take anything with us. But Jesus promises us an

eternal life and alive where all these things will be a glimmer of the past.

So hang on, hang on, all right, hang on. Don't

be afraid. Tell your neighbor, don't be afraid. Are you afraid?

Don't be afraid. When you are afraid, you put your trust in Jesus,

says God. I don't understand all that's happening, but the one thing

that I know is that you will win. You will win. You will

win this war. Jesus, you will win. And I'm on the winning

side. Amen, we are on the winning side. Take heart, Church,

take heart, be encouraged. Don't be afraid. The third thing that

I said was already expect testings to come. Yes, expect. Don't suddenly

like why all these things happened to me? White people hate me. Do

you know that? I was in ministry and I'll share this very quickly.

We have an outreach to one of homes, homes for children who are abandoned

by their families, h and many of them they there's a huge sense of

abandonment. But anyway, basically they are in a government school and so they

were in to school and they will get asked by their teachers and their friends

you support Israel Palestine? Are you ready to answer that? Now someone asks

you do you support Israel Palestine? How are you gonna answer? And these

are our little kids, you know, in primary school, secondary school being

asked this kind of question. It's so real, guys, it's so near

us. We're sometimes very sheltered, right because maybe we don't have kids,

or even if you have kids. Right, they are in a private education

where they're a bit insulated from all these things. But when you're out in

the world anyone else, they are facing this. It's very real. The

kids are being thought a certain way, right. I hate to say the

word brainwashed, but yes, they are being brainwashed to believe a certain thing.

Right. So how do Christian kids then stand in this time and age?

You know, ask you, do you because the moment you take a

position, they're gonna ostracize you, right, or they're gonna bully you or

something you know, But just be ready to expect some of these testings.

I don't know what kind of testings you will face in your job, in

your secular job. As you go out there into the marketplace. You know

different ones who spoke up on different sizes, both also gonna right, But

please expect testings. But even as you go through challenges and testings, I

love what it says, you know, for everything that comes down our way,

right, Jesus has a way to uplift us. Right, he says,

right, you will. You know, they will persecute you. They

will deliver up you to prisons, and you will be persecuted. But he

says in verse thirteen, but it will turn out for you as an occasion

for testimony. Wow, Jesus is saying every challenge that you're going through right

now, Hey, guys expected to turn into a testimony. Do you believe

that not every challenge? God says, when I am in charge and you

put me in charge of this, I will turn it into a testimony.

Do you believe Jesus. Do you believe Jesus or do you believe your circumstances

more Jesus many of us. That's another right, we say, are your

God? This is so impossible? Hey hello, we serve a God who

is a master and expert in the impossible things. God says, you know,

anything is impossible for men, but nothing is impossible for me. That

is our God. Guys, So don't you know. I believe the greatest

deception that the Church has is unbelief that we don't believe. We don't believe

Jesus can do it. We don't believe Jesus can bring world peace. Hey

hello, the only person that can bring world peace is Jesus. You know,

He's the only one that can bring world peace when he comes back.

So expect that you want to see world peace, expect Jesus to come back.

But right now, before Jesus comes back, we don't know when.

Expect to go through trials, but also expect that we turn into testimonies and

Jesus says, you know, you will be hated by all Oh my gosh,

the hatred that we are getting as Christians right now is real. Right,

we will be hated, but Jesus says, not a hair on your

head shall be lost. Wow, guys, every day we lose hair,

right, especially with girls, right a lama, especially for us dinning hair

one right, every hair is precious. But Jesus says, under persecution,

a single hair will not drop without Jesus letting it drop. You know,

do you know how powerful God is one small stread of hair? He also

know what more the other things in your life. Jesus knows. Amen,

and he says, don't worry. Don't worry expected right. The fourth one

is this, learn to comprehend the signs. This is how we become watchful.

Okay, right, read the news. Church, Do not be like

cut about the prong. I don't know what in Chinese, but don't be

blah blah blah. Okay, Christians, don't be blested or tongue. Please

know what's happening. Please know what's happening in the world, because as you

see, like I said, everything right now that's happening in the Middle East.

Right is a is a sign of the prophecies being fulfilled, the My

God and all that. Right, it's it's all in the Bible already,

Go and find out more I don't know everything or so, guys, I'm

not a guru in this. I also go and learn, learn, go

and learn. You've got you've got time to spend three hours on your TikTok?

Right, I think you have one hour to go and listen to a

seminar or listen to a teaching lah about the Jews or why you know what's

happening the whole history around it, and read la can or not? Right?

Three hours? Nothing one for you? Just floor flow flow, right,
