5 AREAS TO WATCH OUT FOR IN 2024 | Pr Kenneth Chin

You're listening to a message to go from X Church. We hope this message

will light up your day. The lot put on my heart a message for

the new year, and the title, if we have it is the five

areas that I would like us to watch out four in twenty twenty four.

Five areas I would like us to watch out for, to look out for,

to invest in. And let's not only think about Oh I think past

I say watch out for this means is negative. No, we want to

invest in these five areas. Also, we would like to take control of

these five areas because these five areas will be a blessing to you if you

do it right. So let's begin Proverbs chapter four. We read the Word

of God, and the official Bible for X Church is the New King James

version, because we have found that to be the more accurate of all versions.

But you know, sometimes we also like to read other versions to see

the different angles. But NKJV. Let's read the Word of God, my

son. Give attention to my words. Incline your ear to my sayings,

do not let them depart from your eyes. Keep them in the midst of

your heart, for they are alive to those who find them, and health

to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of

it spring the issues of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth,

and put perverse lips far from you. Let your eyes look straight ahead,

and your eyelids look right before you. Ponder the path of your feet,

and let all your ways be established. Do not turn to the right or

the left. Remove your foot from evil. All right, So these are

the five areas that I would like to show you. Now. These five

areas are the ears, the heart, the mouth, the eyes, the

feet, five areas that we should take care of, invest in, watch

out for. All right, Let's now read Proverbs chapter four of US twenty

three seven, the same scriptures that we just read, but in the message

message. Okay, dear friend, listen well to my words. Tune your

ears to my voice. Keep my message in plain view at all times,

concerned trade learn it by heart. Those who discover these words live really,

live body and soul. They're bursting with health. Amen, keep vigilant watch

over your heart. That's where life starts. Don't talk out of both sides

of your mouth. Avoid careless banter, white lies and gossip. Keep your

eyes straight ahead. You know all sight show distractions. You know they are

a lot of sight show distractions. Watch your step and the road will stretch

out smooth before you look neither right nor leave leave evil in the das.

All right, So this is the word of the Lord, and I want

to speak to you about it. But before I go into the five areas,

let me say to you that these five areas are also escalating in nature.

They are connected, and I will show you that what you allow into

your ears will also begin to feel your heart, and what you allow to

feel your heart will also begin to be your speech. The way you speak,

and when you speak, things will happen, and you know it will

even cause your eyes to begin to have a perspective, either right or wrong.

You will have a perspective that will influence your future. And of course,

as you begin to see, you will also begin to walk. And

if you see right, you will walk right. If you see wrong,

you will walk wrong. And so it's all connected. And when we invest

in them, you will find that from your ears you will end up on

your feet. I'll show you that in a while. Okay, So it's

number one connected, number two escalating. So it just keeps going higher and

higher, either for good or for evil. Okay, So I don't want

any of you to experience evil or unproductive year. I want all of us

to have a good year, a great year. And I should stop saying

I want is God who wants this? And so God put it on my

heart? Is this, Kenneth? I love as I love my people here,

and I want them to prosper. I want them to be in good

health. I want them to be in good health, not just bodily,

but also financially. And all that's good, right, But there are biblical

ways to do it, and God's ways. His word is a lamp to

our feed, a light to our path. So we want to follow God's

formula God's way? Is that okay? All right? So let's now look

into the areas one by one. The next slide, let's begin years,

all right? Yes, So improverts for that's how it starts. And let's

just read it again in proverts for my son gives attention to my words.

Give attention to my words. Incline your ear to my sayings, and do

not let them depart from your eyes. So the first thing that the word

of God deals with or I can read the message. The message is,

dear friend, listen well to my words, tune your ears to my voice.

You know, I don't know how many of you are old enough to

remember the radio that has to be tuned. Now we just press button right.

Once upon a time, you know, tuning was like this. You

get into the I don't know, ninety whatever, ninety four point five or

whatever, one hundred and four point nine whatever are your favorite channel, and

it's not always you get it spot on. But as you're coming nearer to

that channel, you already hear some voices. When you pass that channel,

you still hear some voices, but it's not that clear what you and I

want, because it's very irritating to have unclear buzzing, you know, static

voice. You want it to be crystal clear. But to be crystal clear,

you've got to be spot on, spot on with your tuning. And

so maybe in our lives it's like that we walk twenty twenty two, twenty

three, Z can here a bit. I think he said that. I

think he meant that, you know, and it sudden you go past I

said, I want to Oh, I think that's what God meant. You

know why I want you to. I want to then go back now.

So it's a constant discipline of trying to hear. And then when you gonna,

when you get it, spot on, wow, it's like joy to

the world the Lord. It's like wow, you rejoice because oh wow,

you got it and now it's clear. And then you you take your hand

off the dial and you're driving. You're smiling because it's all so clear.

Now you can't get it wrong. And so that's what the Bible says in

message right, just tune, got to tune. And so maybe in January

start tuning. Yeah, tune in, tune in Lord, I really want

to hear your voice clearer, clearer. So proverbs for okay, let's move

on. So Romans ten seventeen says faith comes by hearing, and hearing by

the word of God. So faith comes by hearing. So the way you

and I are going to really overcome Romans eight thirty seven. Yet in all

these things we are more than overcome us through Jesus who loved us. But

the way to overcome is to walk by faith, live by faith. But

before you can even live or walk by faith, you need to hear by

faith. And it says faith comes by hearing, So it's so important to

not just hear, but hear the word of God. Now, can I

just release a statement to you here and you can say yes to it or

you might not totally agree to it. But I can tell you right now

that our lives right now, today, here and now is largely due to

what we have allowed into our ears. Meaning whatever decisions that you've made,

however you feel, whatever situation you're in, is because of what you've heard.

In twenty twenty three, if you've lost money in the market, in

the share market, before you even invested, you heard something, and you

hear you invest rightly or wrongly. Maybe you thought about giving up ministry because

you heard something that causes you to go, Yeah, you know this is

my decision. Maybe you want to leave church? What have you heard?

Will be my question to you? You see, yeah, maybe you change

your mind about something. Uh, And then I'll ask you you look so

discouraged and out of the discouragement you are making that decision. So before the

discouragement is what have you heard? You see? Have you heard negative sayings,

fearful sayings, ah, pity sayings. I don't know, you know,

so many sayings. The world that we live in is full of voices,

and some of these voices are even inside of us, and it speaks

to us the devil. It was said of the devil by one, you

know, old creature. He said, I believe the devil's strategy is to

make so much noise in this world that we can't hear voice. But the

Bible says faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Now, so for this year, you need to understand you're gonna get victory

and overcoming results by the decisions you make. Are we in agreement? How

you treat your children, how you treat your marriage, how you treat your

It's just decisions every day, right, But decisions would either be based on

faith or fear. It would be either based on God's word or someone else's

word. Right. So God is saying to us, start with your ears

this year. Whatever that you have heard lasted, have caused you fear,

that have caused you sadness, that have caused you to want to give up,

They've got maybe change your hearing. How to change your hearing past tuna

tune. I want to hear God's clear voice Lord, the sadness that I

went through last year is causing me. This is the disappointment I went through

last is causing me to you know this doubt. Doubt has come into my

mind. But the Bible says here by faith, not here by doubt,

not here by anger, not here by frustration, not here by what the

markets are telling you. Amen, Because markets were up and down, volatile.

But God's word is never volatile. And then he Jesus is the same

yesterday, today and forever he Brews thirteen, verse eight, the same,

steady, the true north that you're in. You're lost in the in the

jungle, the compass. The north is always true, right, God's word.

You can count it. Yeah. You might feel, oh, dark

and cold and I'm lost. Yeah, given we are human beings, we

will feel the emotions. But you're gonna get out of this year. Follow

the north, follow the You're gotta get out. You're gonna get out your

debt. This year, You're gonna get out of your anger. This year,

you're gotta get out your frustrations. This year, you gotta get out

of your pain. This year, you got to get out of your regrets.

This year. I want to prophesy that to you. Because God gave

me this word, I'm confident to say it to you. But you've got

to start to hear by faith. Here by the word, because this word

is faithful. It doesn't change. Amen. God is good. So start

with your hearing. Let's move on Revelations to seven. Now I'm just going

to show you very quickly the word of the Lord in Revelations to seven churches.

Remember, God spoke to seven churches. In each of the churches when

God spoke, the beginning of what he said was different to the faithful church.

I think the Church of Philadelphia. He said something to the church in

Sardis or you know, this just goes down. You read it for yourself.

There's seven churches, and you know somewhere look warm. I will spew

you up, my mother. The beginning of the seven churches. As he

spoke to seven churches, the introductory was different, but I'm about to show

you now the ending is all the same. He was an ear. Let

him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. You know, Revelations is

the last book read. You know, he didn't say he was an eye.

Let him see. He didn't say those who have a heart. Let

them feel the importance of the ear to God in Revelations the Last Book and

found as a message to every seven church, every one of the seven churches.

third Church, seventeen he who is an ear, Let him hear what the

Spirit says to the churches. Move on. I think it's twenty nine.

He's a fourth church. Now, same thing. Here is an ear,

Let him hear. Revelations three, six fifth Church. Now, oh sorry,

let me just read that tree six, just the one before. Yeah,

he was an ear. Let him here, fifth church, sixth church,

Revelations tree thirteen. Sixth church. Here is an ear. Let him

here, seventh church, last one, he has an ear. Let him

here. You hear what the Lord is trying to say to us, no

matter what problems and troubles and challenges. Let it start with your ear,

amen, because you will hear the Lord tell you what you need to do

and how you need to walk. And yeah, maybe it'll be different answers

or solution from the Lord, but he starts with hearing. Faith comes by

hearing. It will be faith and hearing by the Word of God. That's

going to be the similar solution to all of us. Start there, Start

there. Okay. Now the last book of revelations is Revelations twenty two,

and you still find that. As if God was not clear enough, he

said before I finished the Bible, la by last chapter. I'm going to

add it one more time, just in case you didn't catch it. How

important the hearing is to me. All right, So the spirit and the

bride say, come. Let him who hears say come. Let him who

hears say come, not let him who season not, let him who has

great faith, Let him who hears say come. So he really really starts

without hearing. Stop hearing all those stuff that has caused you all those pain

enough, stop hearing all those stuff that's caused you all those poverty. How

am I always poor? Because maybe you're here. Stop hearing all tho stuff

that's caused you all that anger and frustration and want to give up, give

up, give up? No, no, no, hey enough? Amen?

You know what training training for is gonna be different for you because you're

gonna hear differently. And as soon as you say, God, help me

to hear differently, it starts, It starts, and it will be a

different year from training. Trainy tree, you can hear good? Amen?

If you had. If you had a good year and training tatry year,

it'll be better. If you had a bad year, it's gonna be great.

It all starts with hearing, and I want to hear God's voice,

and I want to hear by faith. Amen. All right, let's move

on. So the heart. Ah, So Proverbs For we all start.

We all go back to Proverbs For because that's the main text. What does

it say here? He says, keep your heart with all diligence, for

out of it spring the issues of life. Okay, what does the message

say. The message says, keep vigilant watch over your heart. That's where

life starts. Okay, all right, The heart is very important. God

looks at the heart, even as man looks at that oar appearance. God

loves your heart. He wants your heart. The heart is the center of

your life. It's where all it all begins. Okay, So there is

another translation in N I V. The n I V translation is God your

Heart. I think a lot of us like that version because we even use

it for each other. Hey, God, your horror, God your horror.

You know, just don't just don't give it to any other guy,

or don't don't give you to any girl. Okay, don't not just any

girl. Choose the right one now. Okay. That's why he starts with

hearing fir Us ah, and the Lord says it is this girl. Ah.

Then you Ah starts with that here fir Us Oh Lord, okay,

great, okay. So then to this person that God shows for me,

I will give my heart. Okay, So let's move on. So,

Philippines four, be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication,

with thanksgiving. Let your requests be made known to God, and the peace

of God, which surpasses all understanding. Will God your hearts and minds to

Christ Jesus. You know why I love this two versus so much is because

we just were told that we have to guard our hearts. But as you

tell your friend got your heart, they don't know what to do. Passa

Gloria, tell me how to God? Just what do I do? I

can't even put my hand around my heart? I how do I? What

do I do? Supplements? I can't imagine if I came out with new

supplements a heart guarding supplements. Take this twice a day, I think I'll

be rich. You know, because so many people would have got your heart,

but don't know how to start. So take two, you know,

one in the morning, one in the evening, and your heart will be

guarded, you know, and as you go to the x ray or em.

I guess what that's like, A like a seel. I I see

you around your heart. Nick knows what I'm talking about, but no,

so how do you do it? And I thank God? That's such a

clear unsaying. The Bible is the peace of God that surpasses all understanding,

that will God our heart and mind. I love it because it says the

only peace, the kind of peace that surpasses all understanding, meaning to say

that in your own understanding, it should be this way. And so that's

why you don't know what to do. Because if something bad happens to your

family, sure have to be you know, the result has to be this.

It's all the natural. If something happened bad in your company, then

the result is this. I have to lay off people. I have to

you know, close down whatever you know. So many natural things that come

from natural understanding, and even the world that does not have Jesus will will

react that way too. But Christians, we don't have to always react we

can respond by way of peace, meaning to say that when we surrender everything

to God. See if if our understanding is at this level, maybe let's

say at level two, we can only do level two things. Uh,

that's why your child and he standard two or said it four. That's that's

that's only said too. You don't expect your child is to do form two

things. It won't be fair to put maths form two maths if I was

said a two students, But in all our lives we have a certain understanding

two trees and four form one form two, and according to our understanding,

we see greater victories in our lives because we understand. Okay, I know

after thirty years of walking with the Lord, we might say, I know

this is how he works. And so in your understanding, you're able to

respond and then see God move. When you're a child, you don't understand,

so everything will so your panic right now, your promise a peace that

surpasses even the understanding you have. That's really cool. And because of that,

my heart and my mind is going to be guarded. You see it

A really says that out of your heart will flow the issues of life,

or this is where life starts meaning to say that if our hearts are not

in the right place, we will begin to produce or react to different things

in our lives. That may not be the reaction that God wants. That

will not be the reaction that will bring breakthrough everybody. Okay, So but

when when when the peace comes and it guards your heart, it then only

allows your heart to begin to spawn the way God wants it to. Imagine,

Now, if there's a lot of puppies here, puppies here, I

like golden retrievers. There's like one hundred golden retrievers here, all right,

and then there is no gate. Let's start with that first, okay,

and you release one hundred puppies will be everywhere, right, I don't mind.

You know. I really love God in retriever as the puppy one.

Oh my word, you know, thank you Lord. And I had a

golden retriever no until she went to heaven. Uh and so so so so

so whatever the situation is in life, your puppies go everywhere without a gate.

Right, Ah, you know, sell this, you know, leave

the country. Uh, stop going there, you know, stop reading your

Bible. No time for the good things. And you know let's you know,

think of ending it all, you know, just everywhere. And then

suddenly the peace of God comes, surpasses all understanding, puts a God over

this right. And now that there's the piece of God becomes the god or

the gate It only allows the puppiece that should go out. My my puppy's

name was spring. Spring, your turn, and the rest of summer,

winter, okay, come only spring account. So Spring comes up right and

just giving you illustration, because this is how it works. That means the

respond or the reaction that God wants to give you victory that will be allowed

out. So Spring comes out and spring doesn't create a heavop because because God

knows, or the gatekeeper knows that spring is mature enough for this, or

spring is ready and we can manage this. But sometimes when our hearts are

not guarded, we make all kinds of regretful decisions, and it's hard to

bring all these hard puppies back into the cannot you're with me, But when

it's God that God allows, okay, you you go. No, No,

you stay, I'm angry and anger. Stay, I'm so frustrated and

I want to end it all. You you stay, you know radio come

out. Yet Yeah, I think I think I rather forgive him. You

know, God, God said, so, okay, you come out,

So then our decisions are guided. We leave no room for regret, and

See, the God doesn't just uh you know, I mean I have

a god uh in my estate. And the god does two things right.

He gots from the wrong people coming in. He also guards let the right

I want to give Kenneth Chin another thought, you know of evil, you

it. So the peace of God will God our hearts. Because guarding of

the heart is important. Issues of life flow out. This is where life

starts, the Bible says, so you must must make sure it starts right.

Move on for where you're all. I love this Matthew six twenty one.

Where your treasure is there, your heart will be also. So this

year, God what you treasure? Because I know if I just leave you

with God your heart, you go away thinking how do I do it?

So you God your priorities? Yeah, just I mean, that's easier to

define treasure. My girlfriend as if she was number one in my life,

then that's where your heart will be. And if she fails you, your

heart will definitely be broken, broken in a way that you can never survive

because God was not number one. She was number one. Now your girlfriend

might even be number five, number seven. She can be on the list.

Your boyfriend can be on the list, your family can be on the

list, your job can be on the list, but it's not first on

the list. God has to be on the list. Number one, always

number one. So even when people fail you, and they will fail you,

I don't love my wife beyond I mean, I love my wife.

She's probably number two or number three in my life. But God is definitely

number one and my wife, if you ask her, she also say my

husband is not my number one. God is. And I thank God for

that because I will fail her and I have failed her, and she will

fail me and she has failed me. But we go back to God,

who keeps bringing us back together. But if you was my God and she

fails me, then who do I go to. That's why the world that

does not have God always finds their lives broken to pieces when something happens,

and then they don't have anyone to turn to, so they turn into crazy

sometimes stupid things. We call it to pop up to them. It's very

real. That's why we have to preach the gospel, tell them about Jesus

so that they can look to him because life will fail you again and again.

But we have the rock of our salvation, Jesus Christ, on which

we stand and will never be shaken. So please, people, how do

I get my heart? Paster just God your treasure and says like, God,

what is your treasure? Maybe this year? Sit down and what are

my priorities? Actually? And you can't bluff your someone. The one that

you treasure, the mozart is the one that you give most time to.

take it from music? Oh what you mean? But actually, if you

look in the mirror and honest, you know your first love right is your

video games for example. So you have to be careful because where your treasure

is there you're heart will be also. So you want to God your heart.

Make sure you watch out for your treasures, as in like, what

are your treasures? Go to the list, rework your priorit is this year?

Is that okay? Red? What your priet is? Make sure that

Jesus is number one. Let's move on too. Sorry, Do not be

conformed with this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,

that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and the perfect will of

God. Now there is know word heart in this scripture, but I want

to tell you many times when you read the Bible, heart and mind are

interchangeable. And so what mind or what heart really means. It means your

internal person, your deepest thoughts, the real you. You can be here

smiling, and you can be here looking like you' all right, But what

are your most inner thoughts? That's your heart, that's really you. We

can sometimes you know pr with people, but you know you now say,

if you ask a question, what do you really think about him? In

your heart or in your deepest thoughts? And then you've got to actually,

I think I think this or that, and it could be totally different from

when you actually shook his hand and smart in his face and you know wish

you dead, And you got to those are your internal thoughts, your heart,

the deep and deepest part of you, the real you. God is

after that, so to love him with all your heart, your mind.

So it's all this internal, deepest, in depth, the real you.

Do you love him or do you just do this because you know you're afraid

Pastor Gloria will call you for a meeting. Right, So even in the

dressing, I got to believe this with all my heart, that God is

worthy of me to dress my best. Then you realize that even when I'm

not speaking, I will do this because it's not about showing people here,

It's about Him and me. So in the depths of my heart, I

believe that God deserves the best. So when I go to Japan and I'm

not speaking, the Japanese pastors saying, pass your dress better than us.

We are the speakers. We are the chairperson. I said, sorry,

I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to offend you. But I didn't dress

for anybody. I dress for the Lord every Sunday. I didn't want to

give him my best. So I packed my suit and I packed my tie

into my back, which is quite inconvenient to pack extra stuff in your back.

It's quite inconvenient, but it's okay because in my heart of hearts,

in my true self, I really believe that God deserves nothing less than my

best. So I don't have to answer really to anyone. I answer to

the Lord. Are you all with me? That is that's most important,

And I think in heaven that would be what we will be judged by,

not just external but really what did you really believe in? Who are you

really? And? Uh, you know this is important, so it says

mine meaning the heart is the spiritual mind. The heart is what you think

deep inside you and how to be transformed this year to three for be renewed

in that mind. Stop thinking the way you thought into a tree and you

see such transformation happen. Amen, So you've got to change your the way

you think. Okay, Earlier I said change the way you hear now I'm

saying, change the way you think, renew, renew, renew or don't

think like that. Don't think like that. Lord, help me not to

think like that, not to go down that path, not to go on

the corent movie that keeps ending with set you know news want to die one.

Lord, No, I please change the script, change the script,

change the script. Lord, help me to have really good, powerful,

godly endings in my movie. You know, let me have you know,

a powerful, powerful transformational movies. In my mind, it all starts with

the way I think. Renew your mind. Okay, So our hearts need

to be renewed, our minds to be renewed. Were we now XTV as

a good man as good? Sorry, a good man out of the good

treasure of his heart brings forth good, and an evil man out of the

evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of

the heart, the mouth speaks. So the next thing we've got to talk

about is the mouth. But I want you to know where it starts.

It starts with the abundance of the heart. Remember I told you earlier it

was escalating. Your mouth won't really speak what your heart doesn't mean. And

even if you are joking around, it's fine. You know some of us

kidding around. So I was just, you know, casually say something.

But some of your most strongest words, most effective words, most powerful speak

comes from your heart. So if you will guard your heart, your mouth

will be taken care of. That's what I'm trying to say. They were,

okay, And the mouth is very very powerful, So the abundance of

the heart. Okay, let me say something before I move into mouth.

Many many years ago, I asked a lot. I said, Lord,

why am I so scared to preach the gospel to my friends and family?

And when I explain this to you, please don't get a friend with me,

because it's a lot ministering to me. And I just have to tell

you the truth of what God told me. And the Lot minises to me

and said Kenneth, it is not that you're scared. It's not about fear.

Even it's not about like sometimes you know, I ask a question to

campus students once upon a time, what is stopping you from preaching the gospel?

And the first on top of all the lists, I interviewed about one

hundred students campus students, I think about eighty of them put fear of rejection

as top. So fear or fear of rejection is the top. Okay.

They want to hang out with this crowd, and to hang out this card,

they have to be cool. So immediately when you say Jesus, it's

not cool. So they're afraid they'll be rejected. This guy are yes,

okay, all this Jesus free automatic, So they don't want to be different.

So no confession under the rest. Confession that is true is about a

true confession. It's about truth. That's why it's so powerful because truth can

set you free. But the second thing about confession is that it's a surrender.

You know, if I was a lawyer and I was sitting in front

I didn't do it, and then suddenly he found out that, you know,

I don't think I can live like this. I'm gonna just tell the

truth. Number one, truth very powerful. The court wants to hear this

truth. You did it. But number two before you can even come to
