  1. You're listening to a message to go from axt church. We hope this message

  2. will light up your day. I want to teach you know, that's my

  3. style. So today we'll be looking at quite a number of scriptures. But

  4. I am just going to give you the scriptural reference first to what I'm going

  5. to be sharing, and then you have time please go back and read all

  6. these scriptures. I'll be making some reference to some here and there, because

  7. if I read the entire chapter then I won't have time. Okay, mainly

  8. i'm reading from or I'm referring to Matthew chapter nine, meth You chapter ten,

  9. and also Second Corinthians five, chapter five, all the way to the

  10. start of chapter six. So quite a fair bit of scriptures that we're going

  11. to be making reference to. Some of you may have heard me share on

  12. this, but I'm here insurance after a long time, so I think it's

  13. good to share a message on the team for this year. How many of

  14. you all know what the team is that all may know, and you're going

  15. to be hearing a lot of teachings and sharings on this team. It is

  16. fundamentally a team based on evangelism. Evangelism Okay, this is a big word,

  17. a word that sometimes we don't like to use because it's the one part

  18. of our faith that sometimes you're like, got to do this or not.

  19. Why can't we just reap the rewards of having a good God that has given

  20. us insurance for the end of our life where we will go to a nice

  21. place, you know. Sometimes that's what we have in our minds. But

  22. evangelism is actually basically a duty and a function in which, believe us,

  23. those who say we follow Christ, we have to take on while we are

  24. here on this earth. And so it's something that is very important for us

  25. to understand. In Bahasa, the word evangelism is pun in Jilan, so

  26. of course we know the word in jail is actually it's actually gospel. It

  27. is the other word for gospel. Another word for gospel is the good news.

  28. Okay, So evangelism is basically the act of sharing the good news,

  29. the act of, yeah, just bringing the good news to someone who has

  30. no idea what the news is. That's what gospel is. You know.

  31. You think of the word gospel, you think of the world the word herald

  32. h E R A L D Herald. Have you heard of that? Word

  33. is usually used to name newspapers. You know, there are different newspaper public

  34. publications, some called the Herald. If you have ever heard that term before.

  35. Uh. And when you think of herald, you actually think of someone

  36. who is announcing, and that's what you used to be back then. Whenever

  37. a nation conquers a land and they want to send news back, they will

  38. send this soul horse rider back to the Roman Empire and then they will herald

  39. the good news. They will say, hey, we have won and they're

  40. declaring it no, and we have taken this land and this is where we

  41. are today. We are going to celebrate this. So when we think of

  42. the Gospel, we've got to think of that. We've got the thing of

  43. basically someone who's riding on a horse going back to people who don't know the

  44. news here and celebrating the news by announcing it and announcing it with great joy.

  45. You see. You try to match that with how we look at evangelism

  46. today. We always look at it as must must tell someone about Jesus Ah.

  47. Why can't I just enjoy him for myself? Okay, it is a

  48. very common thing. Uh, And I speak it not just uh. You

  49. know, from understanding, but also from experience, because it is it is

  50. something that I struggle. It's not so easy. And and no, let's

  51. let's let's go to scripture. Let's read some scriptures, let's get some understanding.

  52. And I pray that today you'll be encouraged. More than anything else.

  53. I'm not here to put people down. I'm here to help us understand God's

  54. word. And with that understanding, I pray, every understanding must translate into

  55. action. And I think that's that's important. That's why we send our kids

  56. to school. That's why you all go to school. Right, you're putting

  57. all the hate knowledge in the world into your heat, but it doesn't translate.

  58. If you come on you can't work, then something is fundamentally not right

  59. with the entire education system. It's the same for us as believers. No,

  60. sometimes we can have so much hate knowledge, but if it never translates

  61. into something, into change, lives, into actions, then we remain where

  62. we are. And so God's word is full of knowledge. But I believe

  63. the Holy Spirit is both knowledge and power. It gives us the knowledge and

  64. understanding and the Holy Spirit that empowers us to do what we are called to

  65. do. Okay, that all may know. Okay, it starts in the

  66. Gospels. I believe it starts with Jesus himself telling us why and then showing

  67. us the way. Okay, there is nothing in which we are left or

  68. entrusted to do here in this world that is not already shown or already taught.

  69. That means God didn't just say you go wing it yourself. And I

  70. don't really care about how it ends up as long as as long as you

  71. get yourself to Heaven, it doesn't matter. No, I believe Jesus himself

  72. has showed us the way, and the scriptures has always pointed us on how

  73. we need to do it as well. And so why must we share?

  74. Why must we preach the good news? And how do we do it effectively?

  75. That's the question that I want us to have on top my mind.

  76. My men, all the best way helping me in the slightes Okay. In

  77. Matthew chapter nine, Okay, Matthew chapter nine, Okay, Verses one and

  78. two, we actually read this story of a paralyzed man who was brought to

  79. Jesus, and so in verse one and two he says, Jesus climb into

  80. a boat and went back across the lake to his own town. Some people

  81. brought to him a paralyzed man on a mat. Seeing their faith, Jesus

  82. said to the paralyzed man, be encouraged, my child. Your sins are

  83. forgiven. Okay, very interesting thing for Jesus to say. Yet at the

  84. same time we are talking about evangelism. So why did Jesus deal with the

  85. sins of the paralytic or the paralyzed man rather than deal with his sickness?

  86. You ever wonder that, because I mean, I believe in this case this

  87. man's suffering and his sin were directly related, and that's why Jesus dealt with

  88. it in this way. But he did not always deal with it in this

  89. way as well. There are sometimes when he deals with sickness, he really

  90. just deals with it, get straight of the cause of the sickness, and

  91. a person is healed. But in this case that was what he said.

  92. There was a paralyzed man came to him and then instead of saying we healed

  93. walk, he said, I forgive your sins. And you know the thing

  94. about Jesus is he's an amazing doctor, okay, and he always diagnoses perfectly.

  95. He always makes the right observations. He was the best doctor to people.

  96. And that's why scripture tells us that it is not the healthy that needs

  97. us to assist them, it's always the sick that needs us to assist them.

  98. The gospel actually reminds us of that. And so Jesus saw straight into

  99. this man. The cause of this man's disease, he saw straight into it,

  100. and then he dealt with the cast, not the symptoms. A lot

  101. of times when you see the doctor, what they do is they identify your

  102. sister, your symptoms. That's what diagnoses is and then after that they will

  103. address the symptoms. But Jesus went straight for the cast, and straight away

  104. he said the son, your sins are forgiven. And then to prove that

  105. he had already dealt with the problem, Jesus released him from the consequences of

  106. the cost. That's why he says, I tell you, get up,

  107. take your bait, and go home. So not only was he free from

  108. the cause, the cost has been addressed, he's also free from all the

  109. consequences that follows the cost, and that's why he said that to the paralyzed

  110. man. You see the key factor here, that third opposition, And we

  111. know wherever Jesus go, he tends to tick people off. Okay, you

  112. see, a lot of people were unhappy. Uh. And it's not the

  113. fact that he healed the paralyzed man. I think everyone would have been happy.

  114. It was the fact that he dealt with sin. In other words,

  115. if only Jesus just healed the flour make him walk, everything would have been

  116. all right. It wouldn't have been a problem. No one would have raised

  117. an iota of discontentment on why he did what he did. Why then,

  118. did he not just remain on earth as a physician? Think about it.

  119. I mean, he could have. He could have been the most popular physician

  120. in the whole white world, not just going around healing people's diseases and sickness,

  121. and then maybe everyone can live forever and ever. But we know that

  122. it's not the problem. It would have been a wonderful mission to have a

  123. doctor like that, such a noble calling and such a noble purpose. However,

  124. Jesus did not come just to save people from sickness. That is the

  125. first thing that we need to realize. But he came to save us from

  126. sin. Sin, And you know what he was doing. He was essentially

  127. claiming his divine prerogative to forgive sins. Because we know only God can forgive

  128. sins. That is why people hated him. They hated him. They hated

  129. him with a vengeance. Actually, and then we also reader it's not just

  130. him healing the paralyzed man. We also read that he hung out with text

  131. collectors. The next thing we go on, we read Okay, Jesus and

  132. the text collector, and verse nine says this. As Jesus was walking along,

  133. he saw a man named Matthew sitting at his text collector's booth. Follow

  134. me and be my disciple, Jesus said to him. So Matthew got up

  135. and followed him. Imagine, No, what is like to be such a

  136. person. Basically, a text collector is a social outcast, someone who's society.

  137. I mean, you all don't sing for joy to the Lamaga hasildalam,

  138. the LHDN writer that right now it's time time to something your text. No,

  139. I don't think you all are like daily. I pray for all those

  140. who, Okay, you should, you should. Many of them don't know

  141. Jesus you should. But yeah, but that's the reality. This group of

  142. people are not really love. They are quite unpopular. In that sense.

  143. But what did Jesus do He called this man. Basically this man was collecting

  144. text He called him from collecting texts to collecting stories about Jesus, and ultimately

  145. today we have his gospel. The Gospel of Matthew is a text collector's gospel,

  146. because that is who Methew or Levi is. He's actually an accountant.

  147. For all your accountants know there is an accountant writing part of the one of

  148. the four gospels here amazing. Apart from text collectors, there was also another

  149. group of people that Jesus hang out with them. He mixes a lot with

  150. them. Then they are also another group of social outcasts. They're simply just

  151. called sinners sin us and I know, you know, it's quite an interesting

  152. work. Sometimes we talkt about sinners, do we we over generalize it.

  153. We think that everyone's a singer, which is true, everyone is a sinner.

  154. But in this case verse eleven, when we read but when the Pharisees

  155. saw this, they asked his disciples, why does your teacher with such scum

  156. per strong words? Nalty sorry, NLT A bit more straight up. That's

  157. what I like reading it. It's politically incorrect, but we get the point

  158. of course, the first question that we ask is are we all not seen

  159. us? Yes? Like I said, you know, sometimes we have that

  160. over generalization of the word sinners. But the word here in this context,

  161. okay, in this context is not talking about all of us in general as

  162. sinners. It's talking about people who have been excommunicated, basically Jews who used

  163. to practice Judaism, but they have been excommunicated from their local temple, their

  164. local synagogue. They were people who were not allowed to go into the congregation

  165. because somehow, one way or the other, they have broken God's laws.

  166. Either day, like I don't want to observe the sabob, I want to

  167. go and deal the land and work with my cows on a Sunday, sorry,

  168. sab Saturday, Saturday, and anyway, you know what I mean.

  169. There are people who don't, who choose not to follow or who started breaking

  170. the laws of the synagogue, the laws of Judaism, the laws of Moses,

  171. and that's why they have been excommunicated. And that's how the Pharises view

  172. them all this as sinners. And so there are two groups of people who

  173. had difficulty mixing in ordinary society. I like to call them marginalized. Okay,

  174. they are marginalized or sideline. And then Matthew decides to throw a party

  175. for all of them, invited them all to come, and Jesus is the

  176. center of this party in this story Methew chapter nine. And from just these

  177. few passages you'll take note. You take note of this that Jesus would actually

  178. be bordered about sins. I think very important for us to take all that,

  179. because if only he had start to healing, he would have been all

  180. right. But we will never have the cross today. That's the reality of

  181. it. So the first thing to take on is Jesus was bothered about sins.

  182. The other thing for us to take not is he was bordered with sinners.

  183. Jesus came to basically deal with sinners, and he came to deal with

  184. sins. That is his purpose. And this is why we therefore have the

  185. responsibility of telling everyone the good news of Jesus. What is the good news

  186. of Jesus. Well, the good news of Jesus is earth going out and

  187. telling people about sin, helping them acknowledge sin in their lives, and basically

  188. that we are sinners. We are all sinners before the Lord. That's what

  189. the good news is actually doesn't sound like good news, right telling someone that

  190. you have sin in your life and you're a sinner against God. I know,

  191. But that is the good news because all of us are sinners, and

  192. today essentially we don't have to remain in that state of mind or in that

  193. position. And that is why Jesus came. He came to sick and save

  194. those who are laws. As we read on chapter nine, go back read

  195. the entire chapter nine. It's quite a lot of verses you will discover.

  196. Know the biggest problem that the early believers were facing, it's still the same

  197. problem we have today because verses thirty five to thirty eight. It starts off

  198. in an NLT with a title that says the need for workers, and then

  199. verse thirty five reads as such, Jesus traveled through all the towns and villagers

  200. of that area, teaching in the synagogue and announcing the good news about the

  201. kingdom, and he healed every kind of disease and illness. When he saw

  202. the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless,

  203. like sheep without a shepherd. He said to his disciples, the harvest is

  204. great, but the workers are few, so pray to the Lord who is

  205. in charge of the harvest, asks him to send more workers into his field.

  206. Until today, we are still praying this prayer because there is a lot

  207. in the harvest. There's still so many people who have yet to know who

  208. Christ is, let alone respond to the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus. But

  209. we are still praying God send more workers out into the field. That is

  210. the reality of the situation. That's why I say a lot of us sometimes

  211. when we start to believe, we cannot just rest and chill and relax because

  212. the next chapter, Jesus actually shows us how all may know. Basically,

  213. he told us the only way that all may know is by doing what I

  214. did with my disciples. I send them out. So go is a very

  215. powerful word in the scriptures that talk about evangelism, because if you don't go,

  216. there will be no evangelism. You need to go all of it.

  217. If I want to break it down, there a quite a lot of scriptures

  218. that talk about evangelism. But think about it. The most famous one is

  219. Metew twenty eight. What does it say? It says, go therefore and

  220. make disciples. The other one that we read a lot from is in Rome.

  221. I think chapter ten. You know, how will the people know?

  222. Then he talks about it unless someone walks towards their direction. There is a

  223. going And in chapter ten of Matthew we read in verse five Jesus sent out

  224. the twelve apostles with these instructions. This is why he did. No,

  225. don't go to the Gentiles or the Samaritans, but only to the people of

  226. Israel, God's lordship. Go and now go again, Go and announce them

  227. that the Kingdom of Heaven is near. Heal the sake, raise the day,

  228. cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as

  229. you have receive it. Still, go and go and announce the Kingdom of

  230. Heaven. Go and announce the good news. He didn't stop them from healing

  231. the sick, casting out demons, et cetera. But again, the main

  232. purpose was to go and announce. And so this was essentially the real turning

  233. point in Jesus' ministry. If you study the scriptures, you will realize this

  234. was the moment where disciples became apostles. Okay, what the what? What

  235. is the what does the word apostle mean? Anyone want to take a guess.

  236. An apostle try appointed close close when you appoint what you do after that,

  237. after appointment you acknowledge the person, and then what happens? What do

  238. you do? You keep him in scent. Actually that's the word apostle means

  239. scent one. And so those who have been called to be with him,

  240. those who have been called to study him, those who are called to dine

  241. with him and eat with him and observe him, we know those were the

  242. disciples. Now they are actually called to depute times for him. It's a

  243. whole different meaning. Firstly, they came, they followed Jesus, they watched

  244. his ways, they learned from him, they ate with him, they dine

  245. with him, they observe him. And then now he says, now you'll

  246. be me where I'm not there. So that was how he sent his disciples

  247. out. It's amazing. And these are not learned people, know this.

  248. Are not people with three years of Bible degree and then the masters in theology

  249. and then a PhD in divinity. No, these were many fishermen's tax collectors,

  250. basically people who work with their hands. But they understand working, and

  251. they understand going, and they understand moving and so they were sent out to

  252. do what Jesus had already been doing. Jesus told them that they were to

  253. preach and to heal as they had seen him do, but without him being

  254. physically present, and that was the crucial change that took place. And he

  255. gave them some commands. No, he told them, Okay, don't take

  256. anything of herself, no money, knows backlos, no break. Why would

  257. they send with nothing? You think about it, Okay, science is just

  258. good to take our minds and thing in the scriptures. Why send with nothing?

  259. Well, I believe Jesus wanted them to learn how to depend on the

  260. people. They went to for food, for change of clothes, for money,

  261. because we are going and they are serving the people, and so don't

  262. worry. They were to go with nothing, and I can imagine. No,

  263. it was such a tough test for the disciples, but more importantly,

  264. it was for them to learn how to depend on God, because he's the

  265. one that gavet the instructions on other than just depending on the people. Building

  266. the relationships with the people and hoping that the people will be the one that

  267. helped them. Hopefully they can be tan makers wherever they are called to it's

  268. not just that, it's really just knowing God and trusting him. But we

  269. read that the disciples did go boom, they went, and they came back

  270. with amazing testimonies, amazing testimonies, and they were to preach the Kingdom of

  271. Heaven is at hand. They were to heal the sick, cleansed the lepers,

  272. raise the dead, cast out demons. You know, but persecution would

  273. follow, and it sure did follow. Persecution never left the church. I

  274. just want you all to take note of that. No matter how comfortable you

  275. are. If you think we are here worshiping so freely in this beautiful land

  276. and nation, and you know, being a Christian means that everything is fine

  277. and dandy, that's not true. Because I always believe persecution will follow those

  278. who put their trust and their hope in the Lot and follow after his ways.

  279. But he said, yes, when persecution does follow, you should not

  280. fear people, but fear God. Because verse twenty eight says is, don't

  281. be afraid of those who when who want to kill your body, they cannot

  282. touch your soul. Fear only God who can destroy both body and soul.

  283. And so Jesus actually teaches them. And if you read the whole chapter ten.

  284. You will see the scriptures actually saying that when you are in this tight

  285. corner, sometimes you may find yourself in the dark because you belong to Jesus.

  286. Have ever experienced that? Because sometimes we think, oh, Jesus,

  287. in my life, everything is all light, every day is sunshine. Every

  288. day I wake up and there's a smile on my face and everything feels awesome.

  289. But the truth is, we do sometimes find ourselves in the dark,

  290. even when we know, especially when we know Jesus. But if you are

  291. there in the dark because of Jesus in his name, you're there. I

  292. want to say, don't worry, don't be afraid of man, but know

  293. that the Holy Spirit is the one that always puts the right words in our

  294. mouths. It's always there with us to help us and to guide us.

  295. And we read again and again of all these examples of Holy Spirit empowered people

  296. in scriptures, whether it's the Life of Different in the Book of Acts,

  297. or whether you read the Life of Paul Peter James John in all those scriptures,

  298. all of them have been put in a tight corner. Either they are

  299. put in you know, they are court convicted, charge in court and there

  300. they are standing and trying to no explain what they believe in, and God

  301. has always put the right words in their mouth. We have tons and tons

  302. of their testimony. Testimony is recorded in scripture and it's it's amazing. So

  303. don't think that God can. Sometimes we are like, I don't think I

  304. can, But we can because that's what the Spirit of God wants to do

  305. in our lives. So it's been shown throughout the ages that you find whenever

  306. people of God who have stood on trial requested to be a witness, the

  307. Holy Spirit has always delivered them from the fear of men and put words in

  308. their mouth. And that's why another word for evangelism is to witness. That's

  309. what we are called to do. If you are called to witness, you

  310. have to think of it as a legal term as well, because if you

  311. are called to appear in court and you are put in the witness dog in

  312. Basa, Lasia is called kandung success likes though you're a cowl or a or

  313. a gumbing, but it is it is you know, you are sitd in

  314. the dog. That is where you have to just testify or witness what you

  315. have seen. Okay, You're always called to witness what you have experienced first

  316. hand. Don't have to tell story about other people. Just witness what it

  317. means to you first. That's what witnessing really is. That's what sharing the

  318. gospel really is. Of course, after that you can continue to because there

  319. are many other people who have also experienced God in the same way. But

  320. start off with what He means to you first. And that is a really

  321. evangelism when we are able to say, this is what God has done for

  322. me, and that is why I can have a smile on my face even

  323. though everything else around me is not going well. But yet I put my

  324. hope and my trust in God. And so it says, let the fear

  325. of the Lord take away the fear of people in every situation. Realize that

  326. the spirit of God is there to help us. Amen, let's look at

  327. it deeper. And I'm going to go deeper some more into Second Corinthians.

  328. And now we're going to move from the gospels to the epistles. Okay,

  329. Second Corinthians, chapter five, verse eleven. I'm going to read all the

  330. way to chapter six, verse two. Okay, it's a lot of scriptures,

  331. but I'm quickly going to read them because in the NLT it just starts

  332. off by saying that we are God's ambassadors. What does that mean? Sounds

  333. like a big one. No. When I was young, all I wanted

  334. to do. Actually, I really want to become an ambassador to travel.

  335. You got to travel everywhere, and yeah, I mean without having to be

  336. a besides being an ask to it, which was something else that I thought

  337. maybe it would be quite cool. But yeah, I didn't choose that path

  338. anyway. Can imagine myself as to it. I don't think I got to

  339. height anyway. Okay, I think henine foras towards Yeah. Oh I just

  340. made it. Okay, Okay, I say it's a verse eleven. Because

  341. we understand our fearful responsibility to the Lord, we work hard to persuade others.

  342. Again, I really again, because we understand our fearful responsibility to the

  343. Lord, we work hard to persuade others. God knows we are sincere and

  344. I hope you know these too. Are we command commending ourselves to you?

  345. Again? No, we are giving you a reason to be proud of us,

  346. so you can answer those who brag about having a specular ministry rather than

  347. having a sincere heart. If it seems we are crazy, it is to

  348. bring glory to God, and if we are in our right minds, it

  349. is for your benefit. Either way, Christ's love controls us. Since we

  350. believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died

  351. to our own life. He died for everyone, so that those who received

  352. his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead they will live for

  353. Christ, who died and was raised for them. So we have stopped evaluating

  354. others from a human point of view. At one time we taught of Christ

  355. merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now.

  356. This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The

  357. old life is gone and a new life has begun. And all of this

  358. is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ.

  359. And God has given us this task of reconsuling people to him. For God

  360. was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against

  361. them, and he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are

  362. christis ambassadors. God is making his appeal to us. We speak for Christ

  363. when we plead come back to God for God made Christ, who never sin,

  364. to be the offering for our sin so that we could be made right.

  365. We've God thrue Christ as God's partners. We beg you not to accept

  366. this move, sorry, not to accept this marvelous gift of God's kindness and

  367. then ignore it. For God's says, at just the right time I hurt

  368. you on the day of salvation, I help you. Indeed, the right

  369. time is now. Today is the day of salvation. I know a lot

  370. of us is Let me help you break it down, okay, and hopefully

  371. I bring some understanding to this. You see, one of the things that

  372. people find injectionable about Christians is that they will not keep their religion to themselves.

  373. You feel that. If you don't feel that, then I don't know

  374. whether you should feel guilty now. But you know, why do Christians always

  375. insist that everybody else must come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ? And

  376. people find that offensive? Some people are like, what you always imposed that?

  377. Impost that on me? Why do Christians do this? Why can't they

  378. just be contented with their own personal faith and then just keep it in them.

  379. Right, and Paul actually gives two reasons. You know, it's so

  380. you'll be like, no, that's not true. I don't think that's how

  381. I feel. But you know, sometimes you go you just imagine before you

  382. were believer, and then suddenly you join a company and then you sit on

  383. the cubicle and then the cubicle next to you is this Hallelujah guy. You

  384. know, got all the cross everything, no picture of Jesus, marry everything

  385. all day. I think you'd be worried. Right, you'll be like this

  386. one yes and Kong, yes, Oh it's the truth. Why why why

  387. can't they just keep your eyes sould to yourself? No? Keep basically a

  388. translated keep Jesus to yourself? Basically why And Paul actually gives two reasons in

  389. these scriptures, two motives. And it's as simple as this. The fear

  390. of the Lord and the love of Christ. That is why we do it.

  391. And these two things go together, they go hand in hand. Just

  392. to go out and seek to persuade people through the love of Christ is not

  393. enough, and just to do it through the fear of the Lord is not

  394. enough. Together, remember, when you read the scriptures, you will see

  395. that these two goes hand in hand. See, the one thing that we

  396. aim to do in life is to please Christ, and we are therefore afraid

  397. of displeasing him, afraid of displeasing him. No, people will say,

  398. you know, well, aren't you afraid of displeasing people? Yes, we

  399. are. Nobody wants to go and offend each other, upset them, disturb

  400. them. No, it's not my calling and my purpose in life. Every

  401. Sunday I take the mic, I want to come and pisce all of you

  402. all off. I want to share the gospel, talk about Jesus, or

  403. shove Jesus down your throat. No, I really don't intend to do that.

  404. I don't intend to disturb and upset you. But the scripture tells us

  405. that we are to first fear God, fear Jesus, fear displeasing him.

  406. And this is the motive that overrides all others. And we would hate to

  407. break the heart of the one who loves us. Right, It's a natural

  408. thing. See. The only reason, and we have to think of it

  409. in a bigger perspective. The only reason why you and I are still here

  410. after we are safe is because there is something for us to do here in

  411. this world, if not all of us would have been taken up. Really

  412. the meaning we say Jesus, thank you so much. I've come to meet

  413. you. I receive you and your love in my heart in heaven, because

  414. yeah, why not, that's the ultimate purpose for us to worship God.

  415. Then salvation would have just been like that. But Noah, I'm still here.

  416. You are still here, and no, we are not left behind.

  417. Okay, I know how you'll be thinking, Oh, man, only the

  418. noble and the good fellers all got taken away. We're all here, left

  419. to suffer and a tone for our sins by for ourselves. No, that's

  420. not how the scripture teaches us. We are still here because God has the

  421. plan and the purpose for us, and we are supposed to tell the world

  422. about Jesus. Sometimes, as humans, we always have this sense of abandonedment.

  423. No, no, science, that's kids. So we have that father

  424. don't care about me. And you know it's normal, Okay, some some

  425. parents really don't care about the chilren. Okay, don't do that. But

  426. it's so easy for us to feel abandoned. And there are days when sometimes

  427. we live our Christian life like as tho. We are abandoned children, and

  428. we are not. We are not abandoned. Please remember that, because the

  429. spirit of God is here with us, and so we know the fear of

  430. the Lord is matched with the motive of the love of Christ that compels us

  431. goes together. We know the fear of the Lord, and therefore we persuade.

  432. We fear God, and that's why we go out and tell others.

  433. And it is the love of Christ that controls and directs our path and directs

  434. our life. It is both. We don't want to break his heart because

  435. he loves us, and his love is what compels us to go out and

  436. love others. And how do we love others? Well, We love others

  437. by telling them about the good God who has done great things for me in

  438. my life, and I know that he can do the same for you.

  439. You see, if you go out and talk about your religion, most people

  440. will tell you that you are crazy, You're a maniac. That's what scriptures

  441. is, That's what Paul says. Some of them would think that I'm guilah,

  442. I'm a maniac. But Paul is telling the Corinthians, I don't mind

  443. if you think I'm mad, because I'm mad for God. At one point,

  444. Jesus was thought to be mad. No, you know, they thought

  445. Jesus was mad. A carpenter who claimed that he can save the world.

  446. I would have thought he was mad. He thinks he can convert everyone.

  447. No, the fear of the Lord and the love of Christ will lead you

  448. to do things that some people may say that you are crazy. But we

  449. do them because the love of Christ and the fear of God compels us to

  450. do it. Those are the two motives. You see. The love of

  451. Christ controls us because we discovered that love at the Cross, and everybody discovers

  452. God's love at the cross. That's why, until today we can still sing

  453. songs of the Cross, and something happens in our hearts because we understand God's

  454. love for us. You know, if your faith means nothing to you,

  455. you wouldn't be sitting here. In all honesty be the easiest thing to give

  456. up one. But yet it's at the Cross that we discover God's love.

  457. And if you really want to know Jesus loves you, then go to the

  458. cross and you look at the cross and you say that He did that for

  459. me. The love of Christ compels us because when we look at the cross.

  460. We see that not only was I involved, It's not just I involved

  461. there, No, but the fact that he died for all. He died

  462. for all. And that's why our faith is not It is personal, but

  463. it's not just to be kept personally. There is a reason why we are

  464. called to evangelize. But sometimes we like to take on the ways of this

  465. world and say that keep your faith to yourself, don't have to offend other

  466. people. But if you don't realize that the cross is not not just for

  467. me, No, sometimes you think, or you just look at yourself hanging

  468. on the cross. No, no, no, Jesus hung on the cross.

  469. If it was me, all of it, all will we do because

  470. it would not have achieved what it was supposed to do. But because it

  471. was Christ who hung in that cross, and he did not just hang there

  472. for me. Yes he did, and that's why I stand here and testify

  473. off his goodness and what he has done in my life. But he hung

  474. there for all, and that is why I've got to take it a step

  475. further after that. That is why we persuade someone else to be a believer,

  476. because you remember that they are also already involved. Even before they know

  477. Jesus, they are already involved on that cross. We are not there.

  478. It's not just our cross, it's there a cross too. Amen. So

  479. why did Jesus die in across? Okay, I'm going to go deep because

  480. that's what the scripture. I want you to read the scripture and understand.

  481. Because a lot of people, a lot of times know when we when you

  482. talk about evangelists, it's just the pastor. I want to grow his church.

  483. So they've got more tights and offerings to collect. Uh, they want

  484. more people, know, so they can report numbers, report numbers. Know,

  485. it's not about numbers. If you understand why you are supposed to do

  486. you, if you understand the gospel, the fear of the Lord and the

  487. love of Christ will compel you to do it. So why did Jesus die

  488. in Across? Well, he died in across so that there is a personal

  489. revolution in everybody's life that takes place. Revolution another word for revolution is of

  490. course in Basa's revolution, but I translated as per ubahan change. There is

  491. a change. No longer I do. Are you the center of your thinking,

  492. because that's how we behave No, I am the center of my thinking.

  493. No longer will there exist the capital I. But you will start to

  494. realize it's Jesus. Because Jesus died the purpose of every human life on earth

  495. is to live for him, not for our self. Does that make sense?

  496. Not for ourself, because Jesus must be the center of thinking. Jesus

  497. must be the center of our behavior. But usually before we know Jesus,

  498. I am the center of my thinking. Normal until today's unless we still do

  499. it, I am the center of my feelings. It's my feelings that I'm

  500. worried about. Is your own feelings that you're worried about? Right? But

  501. yet he's changing that, and he's asking you to take into account what he

  502. is thinking and what he is feeling, and then you will realize what purpose

  503. is all about. Let us go a little further. No, I've explained

  504. the motive. The motive is again the fear of God and the love of

  505. Christ. Then that's why Christians don't keep their faith to themselves. But more

  506. importantly, if you don't keep your faith to yourself, what do you go

  507. out? And do you go out and share? What are you sharing?

  508. Because a lot of times, after we teach to spend our teaching or evangelism.

  509. Then at the end of it, I got I got I understand evangelism.

  510. And then the question that comes back is, but I don't want to

  511. share it's normal. So what what is the message. Let's look at the

  512. message, and the message is the gospel actually, because the reality is human

  513. beings are always judging each other. He's good, he's bad, he's strange,

  514. he's abnormal, he's funny. Right, we say all these things,

  515. But when you have been to the cross, you don't judge people from a

  516. human point of view anymore. You look at the man and you don't look

  517. at the clothes. You don't just look at the size of his house.

  518. Instance, You see someone for whom Jesus died for. That's what the scripture

  519. is telling us. You see them from Jesus's point of view. If you

  520. read again the NLT that the version that I just read, it says you

  521. used to look at people from a human point of view. But it's the

  522. revolution has taken place your outlook that you can actually shift how you used to

  523. look at people and look at them differently. You just see sinners for whom

  524. Jesus died, which is the thing that makes all of us here equal.

  525. The reality is all of us are not equal in dignity. A lot of

  526. times we like to think, no, I'm equal, we are all dignified

  527. people. But no, no, actually we are equal in depravity. We

  528. are all people who have fallen shot. We are all people who are deprived

  529. one way or the other. We potential for dignity, but that's the reality.

  530. We like to look at it as we're all great, But the scripture

  531. says that, no, we are all equal because we're all bad. And

  532. there were people who look at Jesus when you were here on earth, and

  533. they they judge him with a human point of view, and this is what

  534. they just They say, he's just a carpenter. But they were wrong,

  535. because a cap can't raise the day, a carpenter can't heal the sake.

  536. A carpenter can probably make coffins for the day and make baits for the sake.

  537. But you can look at Jesus and you can judge him as a human

  538. being, and I'm sure you will come to the conclusion that he is a

  539. great human being. But that wouldn't change your life, that wouldn't have promoted

  540. any revolution within you. We therefore, no longer look at Jesus or anyone

  541. else from a human point of view, because that's not how God wants us

  542. to look at it him, and that's not how he wants us to look

  543. at one another. Now we know that Jesus can change our lives because he

  544. has died for all. He is the universal savior, and we see no

  545. one. Sometimes we think, no, see this person, this one cannot

  546. save one gone case? Really koto none okay, bully the salamat Khan Okay.

  547. I don't know what it is it in your language, brother, but

  548. basically we are already we are already judging from a human point of view.

  549. I know this person, and honestly, sometimes if I I have gone through

  550. that know sometimes when I got friends who I meet after many years and they

  551. realize that I work with the church, they're like, ah, this devil

  552. can work with the church. Yeah yeah, no we but really, if

  553. the change or perspective has taken place, we see nobody disqualified from being able

  554. to repent and believe. You can go to anyone and you can say Jesus

  555. loved you enough to die for you, and that person is capable of becoming

  556. a new man a new creation in Christ Jesus. No one, no one

  557. can say that I'm so bad that God cannot forgive me. And that's why

  558. Paul is challenging us. And this is the message that he wants us to.

  559. Chell athers, how do you look at people? Because if any man

  560. is in Christ, he is a new creation. This is all of God.

  561. Because only God can create something out of nothing in the beginning. Think

  562. about it, Genesis chapter one. What happened? There was nothing? There

  563. was no form, no life, no space, nothing, But year God

  564. created something out of nothing. So what scripture tells us? And I believe

  565. it with all my heart. And if he can create something out of nothing,

  566. he can create somebody from a nobody. No matter how you look at

  567. it. If you think your own life is so messed up, it's beyond

  568. it's beyond saving, think again. Because God can create, God can make

  569. something new. All things can pass away. How does it all start?

  570. How does God create new life in me? It begins by being reconciled to

  571. God. That's what the scripture is saying. You see, the word reconsole

  572. simply means to turn enemies into friends. And that is why God has asked

  573. us to be those ambassadors. That's what God is doing in Christ. By

  574. nature, you see, we don't like God. No. No, by

  575. nature. We might go to church. No, sometimes out of the sense

  576. of duty I have to go, but not because we love him. We

  577. actually dislike him by our nature. Because there's sin in our lives. We

  578. want to make our own decisions. That's the reality of it. We don't

  579. like his word, We find it boring. Sometimes we read a rich level

  580. taker, so boring God. Or sometimes we just don't understand it, we

  581. find it challenging. Or sometimes we just don't want We don't want to follow

  582. God. We want to rebel. It's our nature. It is so difficult

  583. to persuade men and women to accept the love of God. That could be

  584. even some of you sitting here reluctantly. I'm here just because someone forced me

  585. to come. By nature, that is me, that is you. We

  586. are all we were all once dead, and sometimes it's still within us.

  587. Is God therefore an enemy of men? No? But you see the thing

  588. is God is an enemy of sin, and he hates it, and he's

  589. very angry with it. It is as if you spend a lot of loving

  590. care creating something you create something so beautiful, and then once you have created

  591. it, some vandal comes and destroys it, comes and smash it up.

  592. How would you feel? Well, that is what we have done to God's

  593. world, and he hates it. And that's what has happened to his creation.

  594. His people as well. Vandalize in our nature. That's all sin in

  595. us. Now, somehow that must be dealt with. And you see the

  596. good news I have for you is this, God found a way to take

  597. away the hatred in his heart against our sin. He found a way,

  598. and that way is the Cross, is Christ on the Cross. And this

  599. is why, as Christians, people in whom Christ lives in, we therefore

  600. become ambassadors to send to tell others. And what is it that we are

  601. telling them? We are bringing them a peace offering, a peace offering.

  602. You may have forgotten, no the wrong things you had done, But God

  603. never forgets the wrong things that you have done, not until He forgives you.

  604. Then he forgets, forgive and forget. That is God and only God

  605. can do that. And so here we are told that God has found a

  606. way of dealing with us in peace. He says, we can forget all

  607. that now I am offering you peace and I want to be your friend.

  608. And therefore our role as an ambassador is to present the message that says,

  609. be reconciled to God. Accept this offer of friendship. The barrier on his

  610. side is now gone because of the cross. He can now overlook everything wrong

  611. that you have done. He can now forgive, and he can forget and

  612. you can accept his love. That's the gospel. How can God do such

  613. a thing? Do be asked? How is that possible? How can he

  614. just wipe out everything? Now we come to verse twenty one of the passage,

  615. Chapter five, verse twenty one, and it says this, in short,

  616. Jesus was perfect. He knew no sin. So that's why we read

  617. that. We're like, huh, what does that mean? You see,

  618. that was the verdict of everyone, everyone who met Jesus. If you study

  619. him and you try to find fault in him, you will end up disappointed,

  620. just as how Ponty is pilot realize in his conclusion, I find no

  621. fault in him. You know, I've read countless books of especially lawyers who

  622. try to debunk faith, who tried to debunk Christianity, who try to make

  623. a claim that all these things that the Christians are claiming is wrong, and

  624. they go to everything, they study the evidences. The evidence is actually the

  625. scripture, the scripture in itself, and then they study the claims in the

  626. scripture, and then they realize there is no way any court will say that

  627. the scriptures are wrong, because if you study it, and you study how

  628. all the different the number of eyewitnesses, how it was all recorded, how

  629. today we have all these scriptures and they're all consistent. Take a lot of

  630. them, and she come to realize what I may not believe. After examining

  631. Jesus and examining the claim that he is the son of God, I have

  632. to admit that he's he's he's something special, and I have to admit that

  633. if he claimed that he's got no wrong in him, that's the truth.

  634. He may not have promoted a personal revolution, but at least they can come

  635. to a logical agreement that this man is sinless. It was the verdict of

  636. not just men, No, it was the verdict of Satan himself. You

  637. see the devil try to slender him, but I couldn't find anything to pin

  638. on Jesus. Try to tem him so many ways do this do this I

  639. offer you. This couldn't every time he gave and answer, he gave it

  640. right answer, and he acted out with no sin. And he was also

  641. the verdict of Jesus himself, because he's which of you convict me of sin?

  642. Remember when they were going the stone him, he asked, which of

  643. you convicts me of sin? Above all, it was the verdict of God

  644. the Father, because it was God the Father who said, this is my

  645. son in whom I am well please. And for the first time in all

  646. history, God looked down from heaven and he saw one perfect life lived on

  647. earth from beginning to the end, and who was dead Jesus. Jesus was

  648. also put to death as the worst criminal on earth. What was happening?

  649. Why did that have to happen? Why did God allow such a perfect life

  650. to end like that? Was he an assassination so as we asked, No,

  651. it was Jesus assassinator. No, it wasn't anything like that. It

  652. was Jesus who chose to go to Jerusalem to die. Why because at the

  653. cross you see two things. You see sinlessness and you see sin in the

  654. same person. That's what it means. By him who knew no sin was

  655. made sin by God. You see, God the Father treated Jesus, his

  656. son, like a sinner. Jesus was going to have to face God's rather

  657. face God's anger and his condemnation. And I want you to understand that God

  658. the Father was treating Jesus as God's holiness must treat a sinner. You see,

  659. if you say that God is holy, and you say that God is

  660. just God, he's full of justice. That means that every wrong must be

  661. punished and that an atonement has to take place. And that is why he

  662. who knew no sin, he made to be sin, Why that we might

  663. become the righteousness of God. That's what the scripture says. It's totally unfair.

  664. It's an un fair exchange. But it is as though Jesus is now

  665. saying to us, I took your sin, Will you have my righteousness?

  666. I took all your badness? Will you have my goodness? I took all

  667. of God's anger directed to you, And will you now have his love?

  668. Amen? That is why everybody in your town, everybody in your city,

  669. everybody in your workplace, everybody in your schools, all of us are involved

  670. in the cross, because he died for all but it doesn't work automatically.

  671. We all know that a person needs to remove the hostility in his heart and

  672. accept this reconciliation. You need to accept God's peace offering get right with God

  673. now, and there is something urgent about it. I want to continue to

  674. encourage all of us here who believe, because since Jesus died, you can

  675. get right with God. And that's why the scripture goes on to say that

  676. now is the day we are living in it. We don't need to wait.

  677. You know, back in the Old Testament they had to wait for the

  678. promises to be fulfilled, and they were waiting and awaiting. But the scripture

  679. now says today is the day of salvation. Nobody needs to have any unforgiven

  680. sin on your conscience. And I don't wish that for any one of you.

  681. Know, if you are a believer, believe and know that the Lord

  682. has forgiven and wiped out all that has passed. If you are not a

  683. believer, I want to urge you and I want to say I don't want

  684. you to go around with a guilty conscience. And we all have that because

  685. we are all sinners. The minut we do something wrong, we feel it

  686. really we know it, and then we go around our lives with that,

  687. carrying that guilt with us. But the scripture says today is the day of

  688. salvation. That means today all of us can come before the Lord and say,

  689. Lord, thank you for that great exchange, because you are taking my

  690. weakness and you are exchanging it for your goodness. And that's what he wants

  691. to do for us, because there will come a day when it will be

  692. too late. You know, Jesus came those many years ago. Scripture tells

  693. us that he will come again. But when he comes now, he comes

  694. to sick and save those who are lost. When he comes again, and

  695. we don't know the time in which he will come again, he will come

  696. to judge. And I pray that we know Jesus when he is our savior,

  697. instead of knowing him as the judge. And this is my plea to

  698. all of you all, because we live in the day when people can get

  699. right with God and love him and He can love you in return. And

  700. now is the day. This is a day that he's talking about. Therefore,

  701. I want to encourage believers. You are all ambassadors all. I don't

  702. care whether you're a one year old Christian, Daniel old Christian, fifteen year

  703. old Christian. Look warm Christian, Hot Christian, not very hot Christian.

  704. We all have the good news in us. We all experience God's goodness,

  705. and we are all who have His righteousness in exchange for our shortcomings and our

  706. wrongs. Don't keep this to yourself, because we are all therefore called to

  707. be ambassadors for Christ. Remember, you carry with you the peace of God

  708. that surpasses all understanding, and you carry this peace offering wherever you go.

  709. That's why Christians in the Middle East or in a lot of parts of the

  710. world, when they see one another, they always greet each other as Shalom

  711. Shalom. God's peace be with you. And we carry that peace offering of

  712. God to those who don't know His shalom yet. And I pray that one

  713. day day too, that all may know who Christ Jesus is. We hope

  714. you've been blessed by this message. For more information on our church, please
