You're listening to a message to go from acts church.

We hope this message will light up your.

Day between the Red Sea and Pharaoh's army. That's the

main theme for today. And I want to talk about

preparing to cross over to the promised Land. Now. I'm

not just talking about physical land. I'm talking about spiritual land.

I'm talking about emotional land. I'm talking about intellectual land.

I'm talking about land that is better than where you

seem to be today. I'm talking about the promises of God.

They are yes and they are amen. I'm talking about

the Word of God. It's true. It's you know, a

word that you can hold on to no matter what

other people say. The word will always be true. The

Word is the word that sets us free. There is

a scripture I'm trying to think now of the reference,

but it says that every word of God is pure.

The Lord is a shield to those who put their

trust in Him, and it's a beauty. I think it's

found in Proverbs TVs. Five. So every word of God

is pure. The Word of God is living and powerful

Hebrews four twelve, living and powerful and sharpening any too.

So we can hold on to the word of God.

Somebody say, amen, his promises again, I want to say

they are Yes, they are amen. So we're talking about

the promises that God has for your life. Some of

you know it very clearly. Some of you have to

read the Word of God to see what promises they are.

He promises you eternal life, abundant life. I think in

efficients three twenty he says, now, now unto him, who's

able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could

ask or think according to you know, what we ask, imagine,

according to the power that works within us. So God

has many promises, and I want us to learn how

to embrace and experience those promises. Some of you know

that for the last thirty years I've lived without a salary.

And when I became a lawyer, the Lord, after tree

and harvest of you know, practicing law, the Lord says,

I want you to serve me full time. And I said, okay, Lord,

I you know not it wasn't so easy. It's okay, Lord,

but you know, I'm just trying to save time and

just you know, summarize. And finally I said, yes, Lord,

whatever you want. The only thing I was afraid of

was how was I going to be supported? And I

was just married. How was I going to support my wife?

And the Lord just told me I will support you.

And so for thirty years now, living without a salary.

I know a little bit about faith, and I know

a little bit about what it is to trust God.

I know a little bit of what it means to

hold on to his word when there is not enough

money for your patrol, is not no enough money for

you know. I remember going to America because someone sponsored me.

And by the time I reached America, I was, you know,

wanting to book into a hotel. Actually it was not planned,

but the train that we took did not arrive at

the destination, so I had to, you know, look for

a hotel. But I never had a credit card, and

in America you cannot move around without a credit card

because credit card is a just payment, it's also insurance.

And but I saw how God moved. It's amazing. I

was at the train station, was going like I was

turning dark. Where am I? What am I to do?

And there's a lady with two kids, right I was

with my wife and the lady says, I'm lost. I said,

I'm lost too. I said, and we talked to each other.

We said, let's get lost together. And and so we

found a cab, didn't know where we were going, and

the lady trusted us with the two kids, and we

trusted her. And we got to the hotel and I

couldn't pay my cash, and the lady said, no, I'll

let me use my card, you know. And then we

got to a room that had a separate bedroom, and

then she went in there and my wife and I

slept on the couch, and you know, everything was well.

And we got back to the train station and we

got the next train out to Vancouver. We were going

to Vancouver, Canada. You know, the Lord just turns out

in my life over the line, twenty nine thirty years,

over and over again, months after month. So I want

to speak to you a little bit about my experience

and how it is to actually live those promises, to

embrace and to experience you know, the yes and amen

of God. You all see with me. So this is

very important. If you catch it, it can bring you

a lot of blessing, a lot of breakthroughth in your

hearts and minds and life. So I'm talking about preparing,

and life is about preparing. The Christian life is more

about preparation than about the presentation. God is not so

much for the presentation, like for example, when the lady

with the two copper coins gave him only, and sometimes

the Bible says the two mites or the two copper

coins right, and the Bible says that people were giving

much more than that into the offering back. But Jesus

said that lady has given her all. And the Lord

looks at our hearts, and he doesn't just look at

the final presentation. The final presentation might mean nothing compared

to what others are doing. But the heart and the

preparation of the heart is very, very important. And I

want to tell you again that life is about preparation.

It takes longer to prepare for a marathon than the

marathon itself. It takes longer to prepare for the wedding

than the wedding isself. The wedding is only forty five minutes,

but the lady has prepared for the wedding almost all

her life, and especially the last year. Almost every lady

I know that's getting married will lose weight. At least

half her weight will go because she wants to fit

into the smallest dress. Then after that that dress is

donated to another lady because that lady, you know, no

matter how hard she tries, she is happy now. And

so when she's happy, you know, the food will not

be as controlled as before. Forget the exercise. She now

has a husband and you know she's happy, all right.

So you know, it takes longer to prepare for exam

than the exam itself. Exam probably is three hours, but

you took three months six months. Life is about preparation.

You can't just enter there of God are just like that.

You've got to prepare your heart, and the more you

experience God, it will commensurate with how much time you

spent preparing to come into His presence. That's why some

people can come into church, right, maybe maybe two people

coming to church and one leaves going like I didn't

feel anything, and one felt everything even before the first

song came out. Because of your preparation. You didn't just

roll out of bed, you know, and give your face

a wash. It didn't come in here and now I

expect to you know. No, it's all about preparation, Okay,

So I'm talking about preparation and what and how should

we prepare now? The next light say is before the

promise is usually the problem either say a man or

ouch because it's true, right, and that's why so many

times we we we miss it. And a statement I

read many years ago which is very true, and you

might say, amen to it. And this is a statement.

You know, opportunities are usually disguised as obstacles, and that's

why people miss it because all we see is problem

instead of promise. But this is true, and this is

how God works because he doesn't want us to live

by sight. He wants us to live by faith Second

Corinthians five to seven. Walk by faith, not by side.

So the problem is before you, and what you see

is the problem. But what you need to see is

beyond that problem. There is a provider. There is a

God who is good and good all the time. So

what's the problem. Next slide says, what's the problem. Okay,

what's the problem? People in this room? Not enough money?

You know, the bank hasn't replied you with that loan approval.

What's the problem. You know, that girl that I like

don't like me back. The guy that I like, you know,

likes my friend instead my best friend. What's the problem

is it money? What's the problem now? The next question says,

is the problem with God? Oh, I've got a very

strong no at the back, and yes, yes, if you,

if you knew God enough, you will know that the

problem is never with him. And yet okay, okay, I've

got two preachers here today. Ye amen, you know if

we are long enough with Jesus and mature, you know,

thinking about God, and we have tasted his goodness over

and over again, his mercy especially, and his mercy is

you every morning, we will know that even though it

seems like he's a problem, he's not, And he's never

the problem. I think you can agree to that he's

never the problem. He's too good to be the problem.

He's too kind to be the problem. He's too merciful

to be the problem. He said, his only son to

die for you and me on the cross. How can

he be the problem? He is always a solution. So

what really happens in between the Red Sea and Pharaoh's army?

That's what I'm gonna look at today with you. Next

flight says this, next flight says, But Jesus looked at

them and said to them, with men, this is impossible

but with God, all things are possible. So there are

impossibilities in our lives. And yet with God, nothing is

impossible nothing, All things are possible with him. And there's

another scripture I believe in Mark nine twenty three, uh

nine to three should should be telling us that you

know that that all things are possible to them that believe,

So we need to believe. So the question that I'm

coming to is this the next light says what's really

happening between the Red Sea and Pharaoh's army? Okay, so

are you ready to read God's word? Let's now turn

to Exodus fourteen. If you have your Bibles, whether it

be the printed version or the digital version, and of

course you know the ex Church in this last few

weeks and the next few weeks, we're in the campaign

of bringing your own Bible, and we're hoping that you

learn to flip the pages and not just click the button,

all right, because after a while, and you know, X

Church believes in preparing people for persecution because we never

know when it will happen to us. And when you

get sent to jail for your faith, you cannot bring

in a phone nor ipet. You're only allowed maybe one book,

and I pray that when you go into the prison.

I pray that you never go into prison, but I

pray when you do go. If I do go, then

I'll ask for the Bible. It will probably be the

best book you can read in confinement. So I want

you to learn already how to flip your Bible. I

see young people, you know, trying. I saw one person,

a young person trying that day, and I gave her

one hundred months for trying. But I said, let's turn

to John. And she turned to the Old Testament, and

I say, I said, let's sten to levettickets and then

she went to the New Testament, you know. And I

looked at her and went like, hey, I'm really proud

of you. You're trying. You're trying. It's just so sorry, pastor.

I've never used a real Bible before. I just click

and say it's good to come back to the pages.

I want you to know your Bible. Amen. Praise a lot.

And and that's also why we also do service or

worship service at homes, which is happening next Sunday, because

if ever the government says all churches are banned from

meeting and all these hotels are not are not going

to be able to lease it to us. Every Sunday.

You're going to have to meet in your own houses.

And I hope that you don't panic. I hope that

we want one text. We can't meet at the what

was this hotel's name? Prescott? We can't meet at Prescott.

Police are surrounding it. Uh, you know the address because

we have met before. Go to Gloria's house or go

to you know, go to Richard's house. Okay, and and

and and just just go like you're going to someone's

house to to have a meal. And then there we

will worship the lot. Uh, and there we will praise God.

Are you me? I know the situation in this country.

We are blessed, We're very very blessed. Praise God. But

we never take it for granted. Never take it for granted.

Church can still happen even if hotels won't rent to

us anymore. Okay, So next Sunday, please go, Please go

to the houses that has been destinated for homes or

rather service at homes or worship at homes, because it

will just do something to your heart. Just meeting together

do something in your heart. Imagine you're being persecuted and

you're there still being able to worship the Lord. To

us worship at homes, it's called a fire drill. A

fire drill is done by schools, hotels, buildings. Not that

they won fire, but if it happens, you will know

how to organize yourself and get out safely. I also

with me, So ex Church for the last twenty over

years have practiced a fire drill every year. It's called

worship at homes. So next Sunday, please don't just say, oh,

worship at homees holiday? Yeay, don't have to go to church?

Who assume me at a house? No, there's a reason

for it, okay. So I'm telling you when you get there,

some people have gotten into a house on Sunday to

worship right with tears because they're going like, wow, really,

if I am persecuted next Sunday, I know where to

go to. And I'm so glad for this house. I'm

so glad that we can still worship. So glad, hey,

we can still here. The World of God Accedents fourteen

eight to fourteen. But I'm going to read to you

very quickly from the first verse. Now, the Lord spoke

to Moses, saying, speak to the children of Israel, that

they turn and camp before p hachi Roth, between Migdall

and the sea, between bows and porn. You shall cam

before it by the sea. Now point umber one, don't

take this point. I'm one. This point and one means,

let's let's notice this point is God, who led them

to that place, came here. Okay. And I'm telling you

some of you are doubting that God brought you to

this place. Do not doubt. I believe that He's brought

you here for such a time as this, even this morning.

There is a purpose, there is a reason. All right,

Let's make the best of even the worst. Let's make

the best of the situation. Because we just got to understand, God,

you have allowed me to be here. You have even

allowed me to be in this situation. God, you camped

me at this place. Then I will harden Pharaoh's heart

verse four, so that he will pursue them, and I

will gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army,

that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord.

Oh God wants to be glorified. Verse five. Now he

was told the king of Egypt that the people had fled,

and the heart of Pharaoh and his servants was turned

against the people, and they said, why have we done

this that we have let Israel go from serving us.

So he made ready his chariot and took his people

with him. He took six hundred choice chariots. That's a lord,

and all the chariots and of Egypt and captains over

every one of them. Pause here for a moment. I

want to say that more people coming. Can you make

room for them? Seats for them? I think there's about

six of these precious people just walked in. Thank you

for coming. There's also a children's church that the children

can go and join a room outside. Welcome, Welcome, all right.

So I'm reading the word of God from Exodus fourteen,

and let me just pause. When the enemy comes, he

comes full force. Why does he even need to bring

six hundred chariots? Is he six hundred chariots? Am I right?

That's a lord. I think even fifty would have done it.

A hundred would have been more enough. But you know

what the enemy wants to do. He wants to intimidate.

That's the enemy's biggest strategy is to cause fear. The

fear sometimes is even bigger than the event itself. Most

of us are in a in a buying because of

the fear. That means nothing has happened to you yet.

But the fear is real, the anxiety is real. I

know a particular system in our church got anxiety attack

a couple of months ago, and she tolpas, I'm the

hospital now because I suddenly couldn't Breathe suddenly right, But

the anxiety grows just to concentrate her anxiety. It just

keeps growing until you think there's something wrong and your

body begins to shut down. And she rushed, She rushes

herself to hospital at two am in the morning, and

then she calms down because now she's in the hospital.

So immediately being in the hospital, knowing that you will

have help, it calms you down. And the doctor says,

there's nothing wrong with you. We checked you up really right,

And she says, is anxiety. And anxiety builds on anxiety

builds on anxiety, And even if there's no health issues,

you thing there is. Even though you're not going to die,

you think you're going to die. Even though your family

member is not against you, you think he or she's

against you, and the enemy comes in full force to intimidate.

Remember we used to tell you what fear meant. F

e r is false evidence that appear real. False evidence

that appear real is really it really appears real. You

with me. So the enemy comes and they want to

intimidate the people of God. So let's read verse eight.

And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, king of Egypt,

and he pursued the churn of Israel, and the child

of Israel went out with boldness. Somebody said boldness. Remember

that as I read on. So the Egyptians pursued them

all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, his horsemen, and

his army, and overtook them camping by the sea beside

pi Hahiroth before bars. Again, I remember is God who

wanted them there. Verse ten. And when Pharaoh drew near,

somebody say, drew near. Yep, your problems drawn near. Your

trouble's drawn near. Your exams draw near. Three months ago,

you were not so afraid. Three months later, we only

three hours to your exam. Your exam draws near. Huh,

The trouble draws near, and the problem draws near. You

know the anxiety draws near, the day of the medical

report draws near. And that's what happens in our lives.

The enemy draws near, and in verse ten we read

on the tune of Israel lifted their eyes. They lifted

their eyes, and behold the Egyptians march after them. So

they were very afraid, and the tune of Israel cried

out to the Lord. Verse eight, I asked you to

repeat bold, with boldness, they march out, and in verse

ten we read very afraid. So my question is, how

does a Christian go from very bold to very afraid

in two verses. I've done cams almost thirty years more

than that in my life, and I see God move

in cams, and people come up for all the calls,

and they taste God's goodness and God's power, and they

feel like they can win the world. And then two

days later they want to give out on Christ. What

happening between the camp, all the call and home is

very important question to ask. Some of the young people

we used to do cams. They go back with fire

and then for some reason the bus that they were

in had a puncture, and so instead of arriving at

six o'clock, where parents were waiting with food laid on

the table. They arrive at two am. Then before they

can say, sorry, Mom, the tire ahead of puncture, you know.

The mom screams at her for the dad, you know,

shouts at him and say, you know how long I've

been waiting, you know, and you didn't even send me

a message. And you're about to see there's no line

or there's no connection in this god forsaken campsite. I

don't mean called for a second campsite, but you know,

I'm trying to say some campsites have no line or

you know whatever whatever road that bus has been taking,

no line. I wandered, and he screams, and she shouts,

and they say, I promise you, I will never let

you go for another camp ever. Go to your room,

and suddenly the inflated, you know, wonderful feeling of God's

presence and glory and might suddenly gets deflated into nothingness.

And she goes up to her room, or he goes

up to his room, and they cry and said, God,

why do you allow this? You know, I thought you

were real. I thought you were with me. I thought

you were for me, not against me. The first thing

I get is being able to tell my father and

my mother a testimony of what you did for me.

In camp, I get the worst coding in my life.

You know, it could be suddenly your boyfriend leaves you

when you're come here from conference. Suddenly your boss gives

you a letter saying you know you are retrenched. And

raise the God of the conference, Raise the God of

the camp. Where is the God of the mountains? Because

after the mountain comes a valley, and most of us

want to stay in the mountain, yes, but you can't.

But then there are some people who want to stay

in the mountain forever and to become monks. Yeah, and

they build, you know, big monasteries in the mountain because

the mountain feeling is great. And sometimes some of these

monks and some of these religious leaders don't come down.

But we need to come down because this is where

real life is. And we speak from real life. We

speak from pain, we speak from hurt, we speak from brokenness.

Because that broken vessel, remember that broken jar, the broken

albasta jar, will bring out the perfume. So if you

really want to have a perfume on a Sunday service,

you've got to hear from a broken person, not just

from one who's looking so good, never any problem, you know,

never ever got hurt before, no pain. No, you want

to hear from a broken man or a broken woman

who has tasted the healing of God, whose tastes the

goodness of God. Somebody say, amen, all right, so let's

see what the trouble is. So they were very afraid,

and the children of Israel cried out to the Lord.

To the Lord. Now, that is a beautiful thing. They

cried out to the Lord. I want all of us

who have problems and trouble to firstly cry out to

the Lord. But then the next verse, the first line

in the next verse is a real giveaway. Verse eleven says,

then they said to Moses. Now the last line of

verse ten, they cried up to the Lord, to the Lord,

I wish more Christians will just full stop there, just

cry out to the Lord, and full stop and wait

upon the Lord. Those who weigh upon the Lord shall

renew their strength. They shall rise with wings as eagles.

They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk

and not faint. Wait, wait, wait upon the Lord. But

look at this, there is a clear sign that there

is a problem. When you can cry out to the

Lord and complain to man at the same time. Last

line of verse ten, cry out to the Lord. First

line of verse eleven, and said to Moses. There's a

saying here in next church, we say, bring everything to

God in prayer. Before you bring anything to men, wait

upon the Lord. All of us have gone through this before.

We think that we are connecting with God. But actually

we can't wait to just complain to men and and

and and and until that can be dealt with and

buried and surrendered. And you just have Jesus as your focus.

Until then, you will not get your full complete breakthrough.

I want to tell you that in experience, if my

I have one eye on the Lord and one eye

on man, there's something wrong with my eyes. Can you

see that? Something wrong with my eyes? Because one eyeball

is on the Lord, one eyeball is on men. Something.

Even if you look at me, you go like, hey,

why what's wrong with your eyes? You can't focus like that.

You've got to focus on the Lord. Look at Jesus,

the author and finisher of your faith Hebrews twelve. Okay,

so now let's consider the problem now before I go

into five quick points with you, and I'm quite clear

of my time here with you. Let me tell you

a quick story. So most of you know that I

come from a broken family. My mother left my dad

when I was one year old, so I didn't know

my mom. And when she finally came to visit me

at fifteen, I didn't even know what to call her.

I was going to call her auntie, but I knew

that she was mom, so I finally call her mother

because you could call mother Teresa, you could call you know,

a a nun from the Casicchech mother. So I just

said mother. And she felt really touched because this is

the first time her only son. She has four daughters

in total, including my sister, and I'm her only son,

so this is the only time she heard her son

say mother. But I didn't feel anything. She cried. I

didn't cry because you know, there was no relationship. Uh.

And then I had my only sister, who died before

she turned twenty one. You know, my story is a

painful story. She took her life because of the brokenness

of my family. We were so poor, very very poor.

The joke is we were so poor that when the

robber came to rob our house. We robbed him so

very very poor. Never had a never have a new shirt,

never had new pants, never even had new under garments.

All hand me down. Yeah, it's it's a sad story.

But God is good. God is good. God is good,

and uh so, yeah, you know, my father never got

to go beyond Form five, never went to university. So

he wanted his son to go to university, but he

couldn't afford it. So I went to the cheapest university

in town at that time, Remark College. I think I

only paid one hundred and fifty ring git per semester

and we had to study on our own. But we

finish is an external degree with the University of London,

and I became a lawyer to my father's you know,

joy and pride, and my father remarried and I thank

God that my stepmom is really really kind, really really lovely.

In fact, she now worships in the church at exct

Tika Mounding. She baxcited for twenty two years together with

my sister who is now forty two, and so be

excided this when after the world and I prayed for

them for twenty two years, wait upon the Lord never

complained you know, because I knew. You know, if you complain,

he just shows that something is not right with, something

is not fully settled. Just just just stop complaining. Two men,

bring it all to the Lord. He's a good, good God.

And so twenty two years later, my sister who went

to prison for six months because of drugs, you know,

I went to visit her there. I went to visit

on a birthday. And I could buy, you know, stuff

for her from the warden. You know, they have like

a menu there. You know, you can buy noodles, you

can buy a fried chicken, because all the food that

they give in prison is you know, you know. And

so I could buy her a bow of soap because

they don't give you soap to take your shower. And

for years she hated me just because I was in

the light and she was in the darkness, and both

don't make you see, So she hated me for no

reason except that so you think you're a Christian, you know,

you think you're this, and you think you're that. Okay,

kind of very tough. But I prayed for her, and

God allowed problems before the problems, and I took the

problems of her being in prison and I said, God,

this is my chance of going to visit her in prison,

and I pray that I was able to lead her

back to you. Because when they were children, they were

in church in something like ex kids. But the devil

is very very cunning, and he's very very tempting, and

so my sister went that way. Anyway, both of them,

my mother, my stepmother, and my half sister, both of

them worshiped together with me today. By the grace of God.

Ex got the good morning. And she has a son,

eleven year old boy. She delivered him, you know, basically

baby out of a wedlock. So it was a very

tough upbringing. But I want to just tell you all

this distin to let you know that I understand what

it means to not have it all together. I understand

what it means to yeah, I have every reason to

be embarrassed about your past. And the only reason why

I wash. Sometimes they say you wash dirty linen. I

wash dirty linen in public so that people might be clean.

It is not to show you how dirty I was

or how bad my past was, But I do that

to tell you that God heals and there's nothing impossible

for him. He can turn absolute zero to become a hero.

And I'm not saying I'm a hero yet, but he

can really make something out of our lives, and we

give him all the glory. So they complain to Moses,

and I want to slowly but surely bring you through

these complaints because it reveals their hearts and maybe this morning,

maybe our own hearts can be you know, just open

before the Lord like a glass transparent, and allow God

to see what's really there, because when he can deal

with it, then your promises come closer. Otherwise the problem

will continue. So this is what they said, because there

were no graves in Egypt. Have you taken us away

to die in the wilderness? Why have you so dealt

with us to bring us up out of Egypt. Don't

forget that they are crying out to God but complaining

to Moses. Is this not the word that we told

you in Egypt, saying let us alone, that we may

serve the Egyptians, For it would have been better for

us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die

in the wilderness. And Moses said to the people, do

not be afraid, stand still and see the salvation of

the Lord, which he will accomplish for you today. For

the Egyptians whom you see today you shall see again

no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and

you shall hold your peace. God bless the reading of

his precious word. Let's move on to the next slide.

How do you get from very bold to very afraid

in a very short time? That's the question in Thailand

when I first shared this message, ah, I said, how

many of you can understand that at the end of

the month when you get your salary, you are very bald,

and somewhere after the middle of the month you're not

so bord. So how maever you can understand this and

almost all the other adults who earned a living, yes, passa,

I said, have you ever moved from let's go because

you've got power in your hand salary, let's eat anything,

and you eat your host desired the first week and

then you end up eating instant noodles at the end

of the month. How many have you been there before?

Even students here? You get your allowance, yay, let's go baby,

and then it's not go babies, go meggie. You know,

let's go meggie, And it's what a lady's name is Meggie.

So the next light says, and this is what the

Thai people gave to me. How do you get from

Mukata to Mama? Mukata For those of you who don't understand,

it's one of the most expensive things you can eat

in Thailand. It's a buffet. It's a hot pot buffet.

And I was taken to Mukata. When I arrived and

check my and my word, I had to roll out

of the restaurant. I couldn't walk it was so good.

But I think it's about maybe hundred ring it ahead,

you know, and then you moved to Mama because you're

not so confident now and it doesn't really have to

be the end of the month, no, most students tell

me a middle of the month. Already third week. Definitely

not so confident anymore. You know that you know what

we're talking about. When I went to London and I

spoke this message, they say, past it is not Mukata.

Here is how do you get from Prada to Prima?

And those of you and those of you who've been

to London, you know there's a big, big shop called

Prima where you can get a T shirt for one pound. Yeah,

so you know there's confidence and then there's lack of

confidence in all can happen in one month. When I

went to Germany just two weeks ago to start ext Germany,

I asked them what are you what are you confident

with and at the beginning of the month, and why

are you're not so confident in the middle of month.

This a passa for us is how do you get

from steakhouse to kebab house? And they spell houses h

o us house kebab They love kebab, but there's a

cheaper version compared to steakhouse, from forty euros to probably

four euros. Everyone in this room understand what I'm talking about.

There can be very confident one time and no confidence

just within weeks. And the children and the children Israel

cried out, says the next slide to the God. Then

they said or complained to Moses. The next light says,

this is a clear sign that something needs to be addressed.

We need a heart check. We do need a heart check.

Why because the Lord looks at the heart. Man looks

at our appearance, says for Samuel. But God looks at

the heart. And if our heart is not in the

right place, even though our external looks so godly, so spiritual.

You're waving like your hand, no, like one of those evangelists.

And yet your heart God knows, and he doesn't move

according to your head. He moves according to your heart.

And he wants you and I to be confident in Him,

not in your salary at the end of the mind

and all that, no in him who provides you that salary.

Why do we need a heart check now and then?

Because the heart is deceitful. The next light will tell

you that above all things our hearts, the Bible says,

is deceitful. And that's fully wicked. And who can know it?

So what does the Lord do? Either Lord search the heart?

He does? He does. He says, I test the mind.

Actually that the word mind can also be translated into heart.

I test the mind. I test the heart, even to

give every man according to his ways. So why does

God test to give you? See? He tests to give.

He doesn't test to destroy, He doesn't test to forsake you.

He doesn't test to make your life miserable. He tests

so that he can he give to every man according

to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.

So I say, God if you really want to give

after every heart check, then please check my heart. Welcome

to check my heart, because what I get at the

end of the heart check is a give from the

Father of lights in whom there's no shadow of turning.

He's a good, good father. Amen. So, ladies and gentlemen, brothers,

says next slide says, between the ass skin and the

answer is the attitude. Attitude is the spirit of the mind.

Is the condition of your mind? Are you conditioned? And

who has conditioned you? And what has conditioned you? If

you've come from a family that's broken, then maybe that

broken nurse has conditioned you to think like that. Sometimes

with the Chinese, you know, we hear as we are

growing up, you can't trust anyone, you know, trust yourself.

And sometimes we grow up like that because our family

is the background. The upbringing conditions our minds. But if

that is not God's way, we will not reap God's will.

If we just grow up in our parents' ways. And

if our parents' ways, unfortunately is not God's ways, we

will miss it. Even though our parents' words. But it

seems so smart, so wise, so acceptable. But I'm telling

you right now, if it's not in alignment with God's ways,

you will not see God's will be done. I can

guarantee you that right now. I thank God for parents.

They love their children and that's why sometimes you know

they they will warn them of this and warn them

of that, and don't do this, and don't trust this,

and don't you know. But what it sounds very wise

in the world is not God. So we want to

as we are growing up, align ourselves more to God

than to any human authority. At the other day, He's

our father, our father who in heaven. Hello, would be

thy name, Thy kingdom, come, Thy will be done. So

the will only gets done when the kingdom comes. Kingdom come,

so you gotta live the kingdom ways. Then his will

is not yet way around. He didn't teach us how

to pray your will be done, your kingdom come, is

your kingdom come, your will be done? You will never

see God's will done if his kingdom doesn't come into

your life. And what is kingdom? Summarize kingdom as his ways.

Every kingdom has got their own laws, own ways. You

go into Africa and that many nations in Africa. Every

nation has their own ways. If you want to be

able to live in that kingdom and live in prosperity.

Live well, you got to follow their ways. Don't bring

your Chinese ways into that, you know, don't bring your

Indian culture, no, no, no, learn. So God's kingdom has

his ways. So don't take your you know, parents' ways,

or your Chinese ways or your Indian ways. No, you gotta,

you gotta. This is kingdom. And that's why I'm so

thankful that in this room there can be separate racist

and separate backgrounds. And why because we're not going after

our own culture, after the kingdom culture. And so when

the kingdom comes, his will definitely will be done. So

God is not just waiting for his will to be done.

He's waiting to get the Kingdom of God into you

and into me and into our brains. And the way

we live has got to be his ways, for his

ways are not our ways, and his thoughts are not

our thoughts. Amen, Praise the Lord. So attitude is key.

And when we learn attitude and it becomes part of

our lives, I'm telling you right now that same attitude

that will deliver you many more times in the days

to come. For example, when your parents taught you how

to say what you say when someone gives you something,

thank you. And if you if that thank you attitude

is with you for the rest of your life. You know,

you get a lot of doors open for you just

by saying thank you. Please. You see, even your parents

are trying to teach you that, so that when you

keeck condu saying please, it might just make the difference.

And what God is trying to teach us is to

have his attitude. And if you catch it, then many

more doors will be open for you in the future.

That's what God really wants for you. He wants to give.

Are you with me? But between the asking, Oh God,

I need this financial breakthrough and the answer where the

financial breakthrough finally comes. It could come in one day,

It could come in one week. You could come in

one year, It could come in ten years. All depends

on the in between that between the asking God and

thank you Lord, is the attitude. What's really going on inside?

And God just said I read it, you read it.

He tested the hearts, he tested the minds. So let's go.

Let's do this. Before I got to leave for x

Were there no graves in Egypt that you had to

call us out here to die? They saw death. It's

very important to get our eyes on the right thing,

if not the right person. But very often our eyes

are not fully on him. It is on the problem

our eyes. What do you see when you are fearful?

What was it that you were concentrating on when you

thought that all I will end up alone, I'll never

be married. What was your eyes on? Oh, I know,

I don't think I'll ever be able to afford this house.

What was your eyes on? Oh? I think you know

one day I'm going to die of this particular disease,

because my mother died of this particular disease. What are

your eyes on? And the Lord is testing our hearts

just by the very simple tests of what do you see?

And I'm telling you right now, I don't think there

were graves in the wilderness. And sometimes we see things

that are not there because of the fear that's in

our hearts. You know when it all started, when Pharaoh

drew near and they lifted up their eyes and they

saw Pharaoh and they became very afraid. Why did they

march out with Bonus? Because for ten plagues, ten plagues.

They just saw God, God, God, God. Not enough, I'm

only at number forty God five God, God, God, God God.

First time they didn't believe. Then God showed himself ten times.

So after seeing God for ten times and now their

eyes are on him. That's how you march out of

your problem rejoicing. But how does that rejoicing turn into

fear when you get your eyes off him and onto Pharaoh?

Because now he's marching with might, kicking up a storm

in the desert. Six hundred chatter as well, that's a lot.

There's a lot of storm. There's a lot of fluff.

There's a lot of you know, cloud of sand in

the air. Oh, it comes right. It's not even near

you yet. He's drawing here, but he's not even near you,

hasn't touched you yet. But you have already seen death

in your mind. Students, you understand this. When exam is

on Monday, and this is Sunday, and pass the Gloria

said you have to come to church and say past

the glory. Please let me let me have another two

hours of study time by not coming to church because

tomorrow is exam. Right, you haven't studied properly, you know,

and some of you are visiting us for the first time.

Maybe you have never heard this Malaysian a phrase, the

I'm dead. The exam hasn't come yet. Now, when I

was studying law, it was, it was, it was tough.

The middle year, the second year was the toughest. We

had taught U T O R T. We had land law.

Land law was the most boring for me. I had

to learn law of the sky. How a building cannot

build you know, so many stories up because you know

they owned the sky area there's above them. And so

you can actually buy a building. Will tell the other building,

let me buy your sky. Whoa, let me buy your

sky And he said, okay, I'll sell it to you.

And there's a there's a testimony in the Canada of

a church that sold it to a big multi million

air and they bought the sky over the church for

about four billion Canadian dollars. Uh. And so but the

church has to set in agreement we will never build higher.

Because the hotel that wanted to build never never wanted

their view to be hindered. And and and the church

set in the area where they could see the sea,

and so the hotel wanted to always be hired. And

the church. The church saw the sky above the formulion

and took the formulaon and renovated the church. But you know,

now when I'm telling you, I could be a lot eachannel.

Now that I'm telling you, it seems like exciting. No,

it was boring. I'm like, I wanted to serve the Lord.

Stop telling me about skies, you know. And so yeah,

so this is this is what happens. You know, we

what it is. It is what we see, it is

what we see. It was so boring, I, you know,

doing law, doing law, and uh and and I would

I would really not be ready for their exams. You know.

One day one Sunday, you know what the Lord said

to me because I was so panicky, so panicky, I said,

I'm going to fail. I'm going to die. And the

Lord says, how many hours do you have after church?

I say, Lord, if I calculate about good eight to

twelve hours. He says, Kenneth, have you read your Bible?

I said, yeah, which one are you referring to? Lord?

He says, when Jesus did a miracle, what does it

usually say? He says, in that very hour he was healed.

And then he asked me a question. So how long

do I need to do a miracle? I say, if

the Bible says in that very hour he was healed,

then you only need one hour. That's how I got

confidence from the Lord. He says, Kenneth, in one hour,

I can do a miracle. How many hours do you have? Eight?

See sometimes that we are so concerned about the fear

of failing, we don't even study one hour. Have you

ever been there before? You are so fearful, you don't

do what needs to be done. You just spent all

your time afraid. But when God comes and speaks to you,

is it, Kenneth, how long to do one miracle? How long?

One hour? How many hours? You have? Eight? All into perspective,

So why do you start studying and let me do

the miracle? That's how I graduated in law three years

in the row? Next one, why they said, why have

you done this to us to bring us out of Egypt.

Why is a very very Now. I don't have much time,

so I'm going to rush through the next few questions,

next few thoughts, the why, the why. I've ministered to

young people and I've seen them. You know, one particular

person couldn't break through for twenty years because her mother

died when she was twelve, and until twenty years later,

she's still asking why must a mother die when she

was so young? So when you question that, you question God.

And when you question God, you don't think he's so good,

and so you will never breakthrough if you're living the why.

And because I don't have enough time, I'll tell you that,

let's take my word for it. I've had tough times

over and over again, whether the Lord had to give

me breakthrough, of the breakthrough, of the breakthrough. Sometimes you

get tired of being tested. And this time right my

wife told me there, we only have thirty two ring

it and forty cents in the bank, and in two

weeks time I had to sign checks to the amount

of twelve thousand ring it. Two weeks time, my bank

has thirty two thirty two ring it two thousand, thirty

two ring it forty cents three two four zero. I

remember it until today, and I told my wife, don't worry.

God will come through for us. So she walked away happy.

The husband had the faith. And then I went back

to typing on my computer, and I couldn't type anymore.

It was just thirty two agear for his hand, thirty

two again for his head. My mind was so occupied

with three two four zero. Have you ever been there before?

Someone tells you bad news that you try to watch TV.

You can't watch it anymore because all you can see

is Bill's Pharaoh. All you can see is Pharaoh, and

the dust is kicking up. And I struggled. The staff

came to me. As it passed it. We heard that

we only have thirty two gear forty cents in our bang.

We heard. I said, don't worry. And every time I

wave my head, I said don't worry, I get more worried.

And the Lord knew what was in my heart. The

Lord knew what was in my heart. Actually, I was

a litt bit angry because God kept testing me. And

I said, Lord, enough, why do you test that rich

Christian that I see driving in the Mercedes benz On Sunday,

Test him because he looks very happy. Test him for

a while, give me a break. And the Lord said

to me, Kenneth, why do you reject my test? I said,

because it's just too much. Lord, he says, what do

you get after every test, Kenneth, I get a testimony?

He says, why don't you want tests? Because with every

test there's a testimony. Tests is the first four letters

of testimony. No test no testimony. And then you know

what I had to change, you know, my lingo. Instead

of saying why, I say why not? The Lord helped

me to get over that number three frustration. The people

told Moses, we told you so, but you didn't listen.

You know. You know when people don't listen in your family,

don't listen in your marriage, don't listen in your company,

don't listen in your church. I gave my pastor a

good idea that we should serve McDonald's for espresso, that

you should give everybody a zeus coffee. Say why ice

cream ever flowing? Hagen Danes. So say yeah, Hagen okay,

I told pastor, and the young people will flock to

this church, you know, And instead he branded by this

some cheap ice cream brand Kings or something you know

Hagen does. We'll win people to the Lord first of all.

I don't know who hegan das is, you know, but

I think Jesus will be the one that will be

sufficient to win people to him. But frustration is very real.

And how may you have been frustrated before? Because no

one is listening to me. Frustration can kill you and

telling you right, But sometimes we are very good with

our Christian face. Yes, it's all right, everything's okay. How

are you are fine? F fine? F full frustration. I'm

fine for fail but I'm fine. We told you, but

rah inside Arah number four regret regret. They said to Moses,

it would have been better if we had remained in Egypt.

You know, when somebody says it would have been better,

it just means I regret. I regret, and regret is

also another disease. It's like it's like a cancer that

will eat you in. I regret marrying this person. Oh

my word, what are you gonna do about it? Now?

I should have married the other guy who was chasing

after me and wanted to wanted me to be his wife,

and I read to chose this football captain, and I

don't know what I read to chose this drama because

the drama always looks so cool in a band. What

in the world is going I regret having three children

because now I don't have no life. I regret coming

to this church. I regret agreeing to be a leader.

I regret agreed to be an usher. Now I have

to come early to church. I regret joining extreme because

now I have to serve every week. Regret can kill you.

We don't say it sometimes what is in our hearts. Finally, comparison,

It would have been better for us to serve the

Egyptians than to die here in the wilderness. Comparison is

very real. How many of you have grown up and

your mom says, I wish you'd be more like your

elder sister. Why can't you be like your cousin. He

got ten a's and you got nine? Hello, mom, your

cousin's sister got married at twenty five and you arah.

But we have Christian faith. No, it's all right. God

is good all the time. God is good all the time.

But yet it's not the external it gives us breakthrough.

It's getting over this. So this is what Moses said,

and that's really all the time I have left. Don't

be afraid. First thing, don't buy into the enemy's plan

scheme disease of fear. Get it off your mind, your heart,

And how do you do it? Stand still and see

the first step of healing and breakthrough is to change

your focus. What God had been to do this trouble?

They got their eyes of God or to Pharaoh, and

then from Pharaoh they got it onto Moses, and then

they got into this whole thing about graves and it

would have been better. And why did you do this

to us? And all that? And Moses as the leader,

just like as your leader this morning, I'm saying, don't

be afraid. People, stand still. Remember there's a Scriptures forty six,

verse ten, be still and know that I am God.

You know when you're not still means you're still doing

stuff on your own strength. But a person who still

stops right still change your eyesight. Why because the Lord

will fight for you. I just feel his presence coming

into this room right now. The Lord will fight for you.

Trust him. And then Moses says Pharaoh that you see today,

you will see no more tomorrow. The threat the enemy

will be no more, and that takes faith. Father, the

name of Jesus, you know that I would have loved

to spend another twenty minutes and even more, even having

lunch with these precious people. It's always my joy to

spend as much time as I can with ex Cheris.

But Lord, today I have an assignment to go to

another church to bring encouragement there as well. So I

pray God, as my time is up here, that Lord

you bring deep and complete and fulfilling encouragement to every

heart in his room. Yes, the last hour was like

going to the doctor's putting our hearts under ultrasound, under scan.

Some of us have been looking at graves negative instead

of positive, always not good enough, and your eyes are

on that you see death instead of life. Some others

here are asking why God? Why me? Why me again?

Why must be me? Why? Why? Why? Although you're not

saying it with your mouth, God sees it in your heart,

and then once you let that go to him, watch

and see what God will do. Some are frustrated, frustrated

because it looks like we're not getting anywhere, looks like

we're not growing. It looks like there's no new people

frustrated you're not saying it with your mouth because you

don't want to discourage anybody. But you're feeling it in

your heart and God sees it. And if it's still there,

breakthrough won't come. So release it, release it, surrender it.

Say Lord, I can't, but you can't. It's impossible for me,

but it's not impossible for you. Others have regret. The

regret is so deep you can't get out of it.

And the Lord says, don't live in the past. The

Lord says, don't live in the past, live for the future.

Paul says, I no longer look behind, but I look ahead.

I press forward, I press forward to the outward call

of God. And then others it's not just regret, but

you have a pain of comparison. You have a secret

parison going on in your heart, and that is driving

you in an unhealthy way. You know, some people can succeed,

but they are driven unhealthily. They want to succeed and

make a lot of money. Why because somebody make them

feel so down, so poor, so low, And so while

you're rich, you might be rich from an unhealthy, ungodly motivation.

And even that is wrong, because you are motivated by comparison,

and you say, one day I will show him, one

day I will show her. And while you succeed, you

have no joy. But the Bible says when God bless us,

he adds no sorrow to it. So get out of

your comparison and the snare, the snare of comparison. Let

your motivation be Jesus. Let your motivation be because you

want to please God. You want to for him. You

want to give him full maximum glory. You want to

please him and put a smile on his face.
