Encountering God's Presence in our everyday life | Pr Gloria Paul

You're listening to a message to go from acts church.

We hope this message will light up your day.

And the focus for today is going to be about

how do we experience God's presence in our everyday life? Okay?

And as we all know, our everyday life may not

be always the fun, right, It's I mean what I

mean by that is that it's a usual day. We

either we go to work, we wake up in the morning,

or we embrace the traffic. Right, it's our everyday life. Okay,

it's not party. But God still can move in that

everyday moment, right. It doesn't have to be only in

the church. Yeah, it doesn't only have to be in

big conferences or camps that you sign up for, or

in the midst of another preacher in front of you.

But even when you're all by yourself in your car,

or when you're all by yourself having your lunch, right,

God can also minister to us. Okay. So we're gonna

learn about that today. And so in the previous messages

to give a bit of a recap, you know, we

went through the whole meaning of God's presence, okay, and

so we spoke about it comes from the word panin.

It means you're having a pace to face a close

encounter with God, right, and that is true presence. When

you face someone, you are right there with them. Yeah,

it's a face to face a relationship, you know. Like

in Somes seventeen it says as for me, I will

behold your face, which translates as panim. Yeah, in righteousness,

I shall be satisfied when I awake in your likeness. Okay.

That's just an example of a scripture that talks about

God's presence, and then we went through four points. Okay,

that reminds us of what it means to be in

God's presence is to first come clean with him. Yeah,

we spoke about that. Sometimes there are things that we've

got to let go off, be wondering why is there

seem that why isn't there like a clear line. Sometimes

we can make a call the line is not getting true, right,

It's either the internet is not good or maybe you

didn't pay your phone bill, whatever reason it is right,

and that seems to be a barrier. And the same

thing is sometimes when we face God and his presence,

you've got to sometimes get rid of things that may

be taking too many space in our lives, right, so

coming clean with him your quiet time. We spoke about

the importance of that, not neglecting the fellowship, gathering with

our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, and always having

a hunger enters for God Man. So if you've missed

the message, you can always listen to it as well.

So today I'd like to just even start off with

a question, okay, with a question if any of you

had an experience like this, okay, where you meet your

friend and you say, hey, you'll never guess what I saw,

or you'll never guess what who I met. Anyone had

those kind of experiences? Yes, yeah, you can think about

who was that person you saw or somewhere you went.

Usually it's and when you say this thing, right, it

you say it in a place where it's a normal day,

and that is why it caught your attention.

Right.

So you could be just thinking, Okay, I'm just going

to work on another day, but you bumped into someone

that you don't always meet, right, maybe your old friend

that you had some good memories about him or her,

and you say, hey, you never know, you never would

never guess who I met this morning, So and so

and then you go on telling the story, right, or

you never know what experience I had? Yeah, I wanted

to pay my lunch, but the cash is said, someone

paid for your lunch. Wow. We all want that, right, Okay,

So you're going to go back to your colleague and

you say you never know what happened, okay, and then

you feel happy about it. Right. So we may have

all had experiences like that, okay, And those kind of

me experiences sometimes happens in the normal days. Again, that

is why it stands out. Yeah, and I'd like us

to just have a desire to respond in such a

way if at all, God comes before you and say

something right, and you go back to someone and say, hey,

guess what God told me today, right? Or guess what

God came true in this difficult situation that I was

facing and I thought it's going to be so impossible,

but He made a way. And imagine you telling that

to someone who may have not known God, right, and

that is going to just blow their minds. Yeah, and

we're going to just even learn about this experience from

a character in the Bible, which I believe most of

us know about this person Moses. Right. If I ask

you who was Moses? What can you remember about him

partying the race sea? Yes, that's the first thing.

Right.

Even if you ask our ex kids children, they would

say that, you know, with this man who was with

beard maybe standing and parting the race. See, we have

all our ways of imagining the stories in the Bible. Yeah,

but he was not very old actually when he did this. Okay,

but I don't know why the cartoons in the you know,

they always show you with beard and looking all right,

but he was not very old if you really do

your research and read the life that he spent. Yea,

so that was him, Okay, and we all go wow, Right,

God used this person to part the race seed you're

talking about an ocean, you know, we've never seen that

happening and people walking through. Right. God made the impossible

possible by using Moses. Okay, but how many of you

knew that he was once running away? Right? He was

once living a life where he chose to run away

from problems. So he was not someone who just got

it all figured out and he road right away. But

he had his journey, okay, and it had to take

an encounter, that one encounter to be where he was

delivering the Israelites, okay, and going through the impossible. Yeah,

so let's talk a bit about Moses. If you have

not read you know, you can actually, you know, read

the Exodus. Okay. A lot of today's message is going

to be taken from Exodus, chapter two and chapter three,

so if you have the time, you can read it

as well. So when we learn about Moses, if you

do not know, he's actually a Hebrew guy, right, he

was not born in the Palace, and you know, an Egyptian.

But so what happened at those times is to give

you a bit of a context. After the time of Joseph,

we all know King Joseph, right, he was the person

who had a lot of dreams, right, he became the king,

and so after his time of ruling, there were other

kings who came by, and this was the king that

really didn't know Joseph much. And then when they realized

that Istraelites were blooming, meaning there were so many babies

people were growing, right, and the Egyptians felt threatened. Okay,

they were wondering, like, okay, what's going to happen if

we have more Israelites from the Egyptians and if a

war happens, they might take over our land. Okay. So

that's when the king at that time said, all right,

if you notice any Hebrew son that's born, please kill

the son right away. It's a girl, it's fine. Yeah. Again,

the fears because if guys, they will grow up to

be strong and start ruling and things like that. Right,

so every firstborn son would be killed, okay. And so

what happened is that we have Moses' mom who actually

gave but to him, and she tried to hide him

as much as she could, okay, before anyone noticed it.

And then when he was a little bit bigger, wouldn't

say bigger, still a baby, she decided to actually put

him on the river so that maybe someone else will

find him, right, And so that was how it started.

And then we have Pharaoh's daughter okay, who was taking

her bath in the river, you know, with the other ladies,

and then she realized this baby coming in a basket okay,

and so then she saw the baby crying, she was

filled with compassion and she started to take on the

baby and and just bring him up. And that is

how we arrived in the palace. Okay. He was not

born rich, but he was just found in the hands

of Pharaoh's daughter. And if you think about all these details,

I'm pretty sure God had a plan. Right. Every other

baby was killed, remember during those times. But somehow God

had a plan for this little guy at that time, Moses, right,

and so she grew up big, being in a palace,

being the I mean, there were scriptures that says he

saw the ruling was a good communicator. I mean, you

can imagine being an Egyptian in the palace yet all

the world. But somehow in his life, okay, he realized

that he missed the connection with his people. Okay, maybe

it's something about I'm not sure if there was people

who told him that this was this is your roots. Actually,

this is where you came from. But he started to

have compassion for the Hebrews, the Istraelites. Okay. And so

there was a scene if you can read the in

your Bible so you can release in chapter two, he

will notice that there will be a heat slave. One

of the Egyptians will mistreat the hebrew slave. And so

he goes into it, tries to be a hero, He

tries to do the right thing. Yeah, and he says,

you shouldn't do this okay, And of course there was

a bit of a commotion, a fight, and he kills

this Egyptian. Yeah, he kills this Egyptian. And so in

the eyes of Moses, is that he wanted to defend

his people. He was trying to do what is right.

But what happened was again as he as the days

go by, and as he was, you know, meeting the

other Hebrew slaves, and then they started pointing things like

who are you? Are you the ruler right? Who made

you king over us? Are you going to kill one

of us? Just like how you kill the Egyptian slave.

So when he heard that, he realized how people actually

knew what happened, because he thought maybe I killed him

and no one noticed. And so when he heard that,

he was caught in fear. And of course then Pero

got to know about it and he started running, okay,

and that is when he became a fugitive Iran trying

to find shelter. Okay. And so you can see a

change in his life from someone growing in the palace,

having all the belt he could stay on in that

place if he wanted to, enjoying all that he had,

and then now he was nobody he was no one, right,

he did not know where he was heeding too, So

then what happened? Do you know what was his next

occupation anyone? Yes? Okay, yeah, he was a shepherd, right,

he was a shepherd. So he goes to this one

place he meet it's this people who were trying to

feed their sheeps, you know, and so he helps. He

helps one of the girls to feed water right to

their livestock. And when she goes back and you can

read this again in chapter two. Yeah, you can see

this from verse thirteen on words. Yeah, you can see that. Okay.

They were very grateful that he helped them, and to

cut the long short story shot, they took him home

gaving food and then he and Jetro was the guy

here who gave his daughter to him to be married.

So as he married the family, of course, he took

up the occupation right up, the business to take care

of the sheep. Okay, so there was his life a shepherd.

He lived on doing that for some time. And as

we can imagine being a shepherd, what would be what

would be the thing that you're doing. You're sitting there

taking care of the sheep, feeding them, right, so I

can just only imagine if I if I'm in the

shoes of Moses, what a change of life I would

have experienced, right with all that I had? And now

a shepherd. Okay. And it was during this time when

he encountered God. Right, let's look at the scriptures here,

if you can turn your bibles, okay, to Exodus Chap

the tree was one on wits. Okay. Are y'ell died

all right, so it says here. Now Moses was tending

the flock at Jettrow, his father in law. The priests

of Median led the flock to the back of the

desert and came to Horab, the mountain of God, and

the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a

flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So

he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire,

but the bush was not consumed. Then Moses said, I

will now turn aside and see this great sign. Why

the bush does not burn was four. So when the

Lord saw that, he turned aside to look. God called

to him from the midst of the bush and said Moses, Moses,

and he said, here I am. And then he said,

do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off

your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground. Moreover,

he said, I am the God of your father, the

God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God out

of Jacob. And Moses hid his face, for he was

afraid to look upon God. Verse seven. And the Lord said,

I have surely seen the oppression of my people who

are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of

their taskmasters. For I know they are sorrows. Let's just

stop here for a while. Yeah, it's just a few scriptures,

but you notice that it is a very big encounter.

How many of you have seen a bush that's burned.

I mean, we don't have seen much in Malaysia, but

in some parts of the world when it gets really hot,

the whole forest can get in fire, right, And in

most times, when when fire is there, the trees are

just consumed. You don't see a tree standing tall still

with fire. But this was a whole different sight. Okay,

you see a bush with flames of fire, but yet

it is not gone, It has not disappeared, It does

not consume, it's just there. More. Sus, who was tending

his sheep, realized that this is something very unusual and

I've got to take a step and see what's going on.

And if you read, if you paid attention to the

scripture just now, you realize that God just didn't call

Moses right away, but he first gave him this site

to look. The angel was there, the bush was there,

and when Moses noticed it, only then God started calling

out his name, right and in that few moments, right,

if you think about it, anything could have happened. If

Moses missed that image, you know, you could have paid

attention to what he was doing a little bit more.

And I don't know, I just had a thought. You

know what if Moses had a smartphone at that time,

and you know, he was having his sheep and then

scrolling through his phone and maybe the thing was going

on there, he could have missed it, right, or maybe

he saw the A is something, something is happening, and

maybe he took a picture and then he posted in

his Instagram and then looking at what people comment and like,

it's so it's so common, right these they sometimes when

we see something, we are so quick to take a

picture and not actually be there looking at it and

really being present. Yeah, glad he didn't have that smartphone

at that time. Yeah, what he did was he noticed,

he noticed, and when God saw that he noticed, he

called his name. He called Moses, Moses. And if you notice,

right away Moses said here I am. For someone to

say here I am, meaning he kind of knew who

was calling him. Okay, if someone calls you and you

don't recognize the voice, what would you say? Who is this? Right?

But he said here I am. Yeah, it was something unusual,

something peculiar, but he knew the voice of God. And

when you look at the respond that God gave him,

it was not to do something that is out of

what Moses didn't know. Remember, Moses came from that background.

He knew what the Israelites were going through. They were slaves,

and God kind of remembered the burden that Moses had. Okay,

remember Moses helped write the slaves. He wanted to defend them.

And when God called Moses, as you read on the scripture,

you'll see that God tells him what to do. It

was going back to that calling that Moses actually had, right,

And I just want to remind some of us here

this morning that God knows what's in your heart. If

you have a calling, if you have a burden in

your heart. And if you just do what you want

to do, what you need to do at that time,

God calls you. God calls you even when life happens.

Right like for Moses, he thought he was trying to

do a favor for the people, but he had to

run away. He ran away, but yet God still never

forgotten him. Yeah, God never forgotten him. And the thing

is that God has a very amazing way of reaching

out to each one of us in a different way. Okay,

I mean at this I mean the times that we're

living in we don't see those kind of signs or

audible voices. Well some people do still, Yeah, depending where

you're at or how present you are. But God has

the same thing for all of us. He reveals himself

in a very personal way. Because you know what, we

all have different places that we come from, We all

have different things that we do. Some of us may

be spending all our hours in front of the desks,

it's the nature of our job. Some of us could

be in the front of the classroom, right some of

us could be doing physical things every other day. But

in every other moment, God knows how he should actually

get your attention and say hey, I'm here, right, And

that is what he did to Moses. Right. And so

I just like to share with you a couple of

points here to help us recognize and maybe even reflect,

you know, in how our days like and how do

we not miss out from experiencing God. Yeah, because I

truly feel I was telling our team a couple of

times as well that God wants each one of us

to encounter him in this season especially, and we don't

want to miss it out. Yeah, it's whether we call

take it or we don't take it, as simple as

you answering the call or you decline the call. Yeah,

And this is where God wants to call us into. Now.

The first thing that we can learn from what we

read about Moses here is that in an encounter with God,

he meets you where you are, right. He meets you

where you are when you're doing everything that you do okay,

Like for example, on a Monday, you wake up, you

get ready, you go to work. He can meet you

where you are okay, on your way to work or

when you're seated in your office, and you might thing

that is just an any other ordinary day. But he

can come and reveal himself to you. Yeah, every other Sunday,

you're showing up to church, right, it's just a normal

thing for you. But you know what, He can show

up and reveal himself to you. Yeah. What we can

see here is that God is a god who comes

to his children. You know, he doesn't just wait for

you to come to him. But it's a God who

reaches out to his sons and daughters, right, because that

is how personal he is. And that's the very reason

why he chose to send his one and only listen

to us, send him down to us him. So God

means meets you in a very ordinary activity like Moses.

You're standing his sheep, and he met God. Right. And

when we read the scriptures, we didn't see any kind

of special sign that Moses got like on this day.

I have to be seated here to see that. No,

there was no such signs, right, It was just a

very ordinary moment and he met God there. Yeah, And

I'd like to ask you this question, what does your

ordinary day or routine looks like. Some of you could

be mothers at home, right, some of you could be

working at home or going out, or you have a

certain schedule, right, And what would look like when God

speaks to you on those days, and would you be

able to recognize and respond because the main thing that

we shouldn't miss out here is that recognizing and responding, right,

Because God is always going to be there. He's always

going to show up. That's one thing we know about God.

He is a promise keeper. What he says, he will

accomplish it. The only thing that is the only variable

that may be changing all the time here is us

is either we get so caught up with our routines,

things to do, or sometimes the things that are in

our minds problems that we can miss out when He's

giving us a very clear sign. He might be sending

someone into our lives, he might be speaking something. But

the more distracted we are, we might miss out on

some of these things. Yeah, to take some time to

think about it in that normal day that you're facing,

and if God shows up, would you be a that

mind and state to say that this is God seems

to be God's voice, or this is God showing me something. Yeah,

And if you think about it, it takes a relationship

to come there as well. Yeah, it takes a relationship.

So let's be aware of God's presence in the ordinary. Yeah,

let's be aware of God's presence. And how can we

be aware is to just be sensitive? Yeah, being present.

It's simple as that. Sometimes you want to we want

great ways or great answers to your God's voice. Right,

but let me tell you this. It is as simple

as just being present, being present. Yeah, it's I mean,

our spiritual life is not complicated, you know, it is

not meant to be only for those spiritual or for

those you know there's a certain formula. No, it is

as simple as whether you want it or you don't

want it. You know, when you read the Bible scriptures

in the Bible is what does it say you knock,

it will open. If you don't knock, it doesn't open. Right,

if you ask, it should be given. You don't ask,

How will you get it? Right? If you want to

experience God's presence, you got to say, God, come, come

and fill me. Yeah. And I believe it's so important

firus to create moments in our every day to allow

God to come in. When we say moments, meaning, are

there spaces in your schedule, even if you can have

a busy schedule, that one moment where you're just not

maybe doing much or your mind is not always thinking right,

But you have the space too. Okay, God, I'm here.

What are you trying to tell me? Yeah, what are

you trying to tell me? You know, I met a

friend recently. We had a catch up, and to be

very honest, I've been trying to avoid this, this meet

up because this friend can be quite negative. Okay, she

likes to talk about yeah, work, and it gets a

lot you know, sometimes she goes on and on and

sometimes difficult to talk to someone. It's always one way.

They're talking, talking, talking, and you don't get to listen.

They don't listen, right, So it takes a lot of energy. Yeah,

but she's a wonderful person. And but there was just

a prompting in my heart where I felt that I've

got to meet her, right, I got to meet her.

And when I met her, I realized that she was

going through a lot of things. You know, she's a

single mom and yeah, so life has not been the

easiest for her. And when I was having the conversation

with her, I could just feel God telling me things.

You know, what should I tell her? What should I

speak to her? It was not the you know, big

words or scriptures that I was telling her. But you

know when I was talking to her, she started tearing.

You know, she started tearing and she said, you know what, Gloria,

I had. I needed this. I needed to listen to this,

you know, and these things has to be God. You know,

imagine if I'm just so caught up again with like

I know, I don't want to listen to this person,

it's hard to talk or it's graining, right, But there

are times that you need to just step out and

be sensitive. And I went into the conversation and because

I knew God had something in place. God had something

in place, and how is it in our lives? Right?

Sometimes you can be so caught up with the people

that I want to meet, the places that I want

to go, or to get things done. But how about

those who need God? And God has positioned you in

their lives so that you can speak into them right

and to be used by them. And it takes us

to be sensitive to recognize that right, to recognize that,

you know, there's been time Sometimes when I walk into

the classroom, I can get caught up with Okay, I've

got things to be done. Right to teach a lesson

marks and things like that. But there are moments where

I realized God will just say, hey, speak to the

student after class, you know. And when I speak to

the student, I realized that is a lot going on,

write a lot going on. This one boy came to

me and as usual, one of things the students like

to ask is me, is can I have more marks

after giving them their their results?

Right?

So I said okay. I spoke to him and asked, okay,

why can you justify why do you need these marks?

And then when the conversation went on, I felt there

was something more in him, so I said, let's have

a chat, right, So I sat down spoke with him,

and then I found out there were many other things

that he was dealing with that affected his performance. And

then his friends were very concerned and they came to

me and talked about him as well. So again, if

I can be just so caught up to do things right,

this is what you you know you need and give you.

But if I don't make time to listen to those

kind of voices that God gives you or tells you,

I might have missed that encounter that had with the student, right,

or to encourage that student right, not missing those moments, right,

not missing those moments. And it can come with simple

things like God, what is it that you want to

tell me today, I'm stepping into my office, I'm stepping

into my home. What is it that you have for me?

And if you make room, he speaks. Yeah. It's simple

as making room for him, making time for him. Yeah.

So the first thing that I want to encourage all

of us today is that God can come true in

those ordinary moments, right, ordinary moments, if only you would ask. Okay,

and for those of you are feeling that, well, my

life is nothing great and it's just so ordinary, Well,

God can use any ordinary moment to make it great. Right,

It can make it great if only you want it. Yeah,

if only you want it. Amen. Yeah, So let's desire

for that. When you go back to this week that

you have, let it be different. Okay, let it be different.

And how but the way you see God is how

you will see him. It's simple as that. Sometimes if

you have a certain impression about a person, no matter

how much you try to build a relationship, it doesn't

get anywhere because you have a negative respond about them. Right.

The same thing is with God. If you see him

as someone great, someone mighty, someone who can make the

impossible possible, like how Moses saw that. Right, he comes,

he comes and he reveals himself to you. Hmen. Yeah,

So I pray that all of us will come back

with a story and tell each other, Hey, guess what

God told me this week? Or guess what God revealed

to me? And I did this okay, and it's gonna

be just so powerful man. Now. The second thing that

we can learn from the scriptures that we read and

understood is that in an encounter with God, he attracts

you to himself. Yeah, he attracts you to himself. And

for Moses, it's the bush. For all of us, could

be different. Yeah, it could be you're in the grocery

shop and you're saying that, okay, I want to buy this,

and there's the only fruit that's left for you again,

and it'said, okay, God is telling me something here maybe right.

Or you're talking to someone and they tell you something

that you've been waiting and looking for. God has his

own way to attract his children because you know what

He knows us. He knows our personality, he knows what

gets our attention. Yeah, if only you can allow him

to do that. Right. So if you can just think

about this, you know, we all have our own burning

bush experiences in our lives. Yeah, how has God attracted

your attention recently? And when I say attention, it doesn't

always have to be all good. It can also be

in the midst of your storms, your trials, someone is

giving you a tough time at work. It could be

a hardship that has hit your life and things have

changed three hundred and sixty degrees and then you are

here thinking I can only do this true God, Well

he got your attention there, right? How has He gotten

your attention? Right? Sometimes it can come in the form

of people. It can come in the form of events

in our lives, or even true the things that we

see happening around us. You know, when we read news

of what's happening in Malaysia or different parts of the world,

as believe us, it's very important for us to see

those news in the lens of God. You know that

you're not just natural disasters, They're not just things that

happen to happen. But God may be telling us something.

Are we called to pray for our country? Are we

called to be ready for his coming. Right, if we

have been believer us for some time, we all know

that the second coming of the Lord is what we

are all praying and believing for preparing ourselves for. So

when we see these things happening around us, are we

getting even more ready or we are just oh, well,

this is just life and life happens and take our

back seat. Right, It's very easy for us to just

push it aside and live on. But the thing is,

we can't just live on. God is always trying to

say something. It's always trying to get our attention, and

are we doing that? Are we responding to that? Right?

How many of us actually take time to pray about

the things that we read the news? Yeah, sometimes we

read heartbreaking things that are happening to people. Life just

gets to them, you know. Different parts of the world

is just destroyed. And when we read such news, how

we affected? Are we just drowned because we are so

sad that, oh it's life is hard? Or do we

still know that God is still in control and I

can pray, I can pray. I cannot be in that place,

but I can pray from where I am. Right, what

is he trying to get your attention. Or if you

notice there's something in the church that needs help, right,

do you answer that call, because you might be getting

your attention to say, hey, it's time to serve. You've

been coming to church for some time, Now answer the call. Yeah,

how is he getting your attention? Because these are the

times that God may be telling us that I have

not forgotten you. I've been watching you, and now I'm

going to use you in a powerful way. Yeah, that's

his way of telling it to us. When God called Moses,

his first respond was here I am right, here I

am And if we read through the scriptures, you will

realized that he had quite a life. Okay, you could

have had regrets. You could have been upset with God

right thinking that well, I tried doing what is right

to protect this people of mind. But yet here I

am today. You could have had those kind of frustration.

Is a human but he didn't try to explain. And

it's the thing. Sometimes when God calls us, right, what

woul we say, Are you sure Lord it's me? Is

it really the voice of God or someone else? Okay?

We try to justify things, or we try to push

it aside, but can we be obedient and just say

here I am right here, I am like what Moses did.

And when he does that, when you do that, he speaks. Yeah,

he speaks. God is a very personal God, and he

sees in Isaiah for the three one. Fear not, for

I have redeemed you. I have called you by my name,

and you are mine. You are mine. How does he

speak to us? He speaks to us in audible ways. Okay,

his voice sometimes we can just hear it. He speaks

directly into our hearts. It gives a prompting, a word,

you know, it could be one word, it could be

a scripture in our conscious. So sometimes our mind, you know,

we tend to move in a certain way because you're sensitive, right,

or through his word, through his spirit. And that is

why it's so important for us to walk in spirit.

Remember the scriptures that says walking in spirit and in truth. Right,

spirit and in truth. Sometimes we are so caught up

with the how the world is the physical that we

forget that there is spirit as well. Yeah, that is

why we need to feed our soul, not just our

physical but our soul, because that is how he speaks, right,

that is how he speaks. He has given us the

gift of the Holy Spirit. Right. We sometimes use God

Jesus so often, but we forget we have a helper.

Holy Spirit is always by our side, who's always there

for us. But the thing is, until you say, Holy

Spirit be with me, you won't feel it. You've got

to ask, You've got to call upon his name. And

you know how many of us actually you know we

have the gift of the spirit. Right. The Bible tells

us that when we pray in tongues, it edifies our spirit.

And sometimes you don't know what to pray. Pray in tongues, right,

it's a communication. That's the only communication that the enemy

doesn't know. You know that it's only between you and God.

Praying in tongus. If you desire for that, you can ask.

God gives you. It's a gift, right, God gives you.

And each of us may have our different stories of

how we receive the gift of tongues or to just

pray in spirit, meaning you can be somewhere out there.

Sometimes I could be out there, you know, work or

somewhere I can still be meditating in my spirit and say, okay,

God be with me, your presence follow us through what

is it that you want me to do? Interceding? Yeah, interceeding.

There is a time and place where we are in

our own rooms having our quiet time with the Lord. Yeah.

But you can also still have your prayer time when

you're out there, when your spirit is activated, when you're

inner man has been filled. Yeah. So he speaks to us. Okay,

And when God calls you by name, be ready to respond. Okay.

When God calls you, would you choose to stop everything

else and say yes Lord. You know he doesn't want

a speech in your reply. Okay. He doesn't want to

just yeah you say, or how good I am? Or

how not good I am? But he wants you to

say here I am, Yeah, here I am. He wants

you to stand still and see the salvation of God.

Like it says in Psums forty six ten, be still

and know that I am God. Right, be still and know.

If only you are still, then you can know that

I am God. If you only take time to listen

to someone, you can know what's going on. If you

only take time to listen to God, he can speak

to you. Right, He can speak to you. So can

we cultivate that kind of devotion with God? Right? As

we go through the days. I know some of us

have hectic schedules, but why not at least sometime for him.

You know. Anyway, whatever we have is from Him, and

give that to him. He deserves it, right, he deserves it.

It's not just the Sunday that matters. It's not just

the homes that we attend. Right. We are not just

a religion. Yeah, we are not just a religion. If

it's a religion, then I just do my rituals, right,

I just do what I need to do. But I

live my life the way I want to live. But

as a Christian, as a believer, it is a lifestyle.

It's the way we leave. We cannot be a different

person in the church and in the outside. Yeah, it's

important that we are the same person. And so when

someone sees you, they know that you are a child

of God. Right, you are a child of God. Amen. Yeah,

So let's make room for the spirit to workiness. Let's

count you to intercede, Okay, because if he's trying to

get your attention, then we've got to be there to

get to listen to to know that this is the

attention that God is trying to get from us. Amen. Yeah,

So I pray that all of us will have our

burning bush experience. Right in his own way, he will

reveal himself and we will not miss that. Amen. Right.

And now the third point and the last point that

we can learn from how most us even experience God

is that in an encounter with God, he reveals who

he is, who he is him. As we read the scriptures,

you know, the the first one of the things that

God tells to Moses is that I am the God

of Abraham. You know, why does he say all this

is just telling that this is what I promised to Abraham. Right,

this is what I promise to my sons, and therefore

you are the generation and you are to get it

as well. He is a promise keeper. And so when

he reveals and when we say yes Lord, he tells

us the things that we need. Sometimes, you know, like

if you're going through a tough time and he says,

I am your refuge. He comes to you and he says, yes,

I know this is what you're going through. I am

your refuge. I am your strength. Right, And when you

hear that, you know that, okay, I am going to

get through this situation. Because he is the one that's

going to refuge me. He is the one that's going

to give me the strength that I need. So when

we see Moses and he's encountered in verse five, you know,

God tells him, do not draw near this place, take

your sandals off your feet, for the place where you

stand is a holy ground. What is it trying to

say here is that I am a holy God. Yeah,

I am a holy God, is the first thing he

says to him. And God's presence cannot be default. Okay,

there's something that we've got to learn that God wants

all of us to be holy because he is holy.

He wants us to be separated. Like the scripture tells

the Book of Romans, we are in the world, but

we are not off the world, right, and we are

I mean we say holy ground. It's not just because

I step into churches holy. But wherever God's presence is,

it is holy. And if God's presence is always with you,

You've got to be holier just like him. Right, And

then we say holy. It's a hard check. We've got

to ask ourselves how our lives like right, the choices

that we make, the the kind of shows that we watch, right,

can you watch shows that sometimes if you watch even

our English shows, they're swearing upon the name of God.

Would you be able to take that right? The conversations

that we have with someone, and if you can actually

rate your conversation, would you give your condition a five

star because you are talking words of life or it's

always negative? Right? Sometimes even the way we bring ourselves,

the way we dress, the way we treat others, all

this you know, and I will say this is something

very personal where you've got to do your own heart

check and ask God, what is it God that may

not be pleasing towards you? Could you remove it? Could

you show me? Could you break my heart for what

breaks yours? Right? And holiness is the place where we

can draw closer to God, because remember I was saying,

sometimes when we are not you know, because if Moses

didn't recognize that right, if we didn't take out his sandals,

and if we didn't listen to what God was telling,

he might have missed the opportunity to hear what God

had to tell him. And the same thing is with

our lives. You know, if you're not living a life

that is pleasing towards him, these things are going to

be taking space in our minds. Right, it's going to

take space in our hearts that we will miss out

on what he's trying to teach us. Because remember, holy

and the holy can't go together. Right, It's either you're

fully in or you're fully out. And I pray that

none of us will be a lukewarm Christian. Right. A

lukewarm Christian means I'm just okay, are you a Christian? Okaila?

I'm a Christian sometimes on Sundays, other days, Okay, I

like to do my own thing. I pray that we'll

not be there. Right, it's either you're fully hot for

the lot. None of us like the drink whole soup.

Warm soup, it's not doesn't give you the taste, it's

the hot ones that makes you feel good. Right. The

same thing is with our faith. So let's desire to

leave a holy life. Right, Let's ask God, what is

it that you know that I need to let go off?

Maybe so that I can experience more of you. And

as we read the scriptures, if you're familiar as you

you know, go into deeper into the Word of God.

You see that God reveals in fact his name. He

has so many names, to represent who he is. You know,

we have Immanuel, God is with us. Well, you know,

when he reveals himself, he says that I am with you. Yeah.

And you know, as we read the scriptures, we can

see that. Okay, we see. You can see some examples

here in verse right, let's look at verse ten or eleven.

You can see that. You know, Moses is having this

conversation that if I go into these people and if

they ask me who I am, what should I say?

Then in verse fourteen and God said to Moses, I

am who I am. And he said, you shall say

to the children of Israel, I Am has sent me

to you. And that's when we learn the series. And

I am right, I am is meaning I am everything.

I am everything to you. Right and moreover, God said

to Moses in verse fifteen, that's you shall say to

the churn of Israel, the Lord God or Father, the

God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob,

has sent me to you. This is my name forever,

and this is my memorial to all generations. Right. And

our God is a god who likes to reminds us

this is who I am. Because you know what sometimes

we forget, especially when we, you know, have a lot

of things in our minds or when we go through challenges.

He says, a do you remember, I am the God

who redeems you. I am the God who saves right.

I am the God who deliver us. So as we

encounter God, well, he's not just holy, he's not just

a faithful God. But he is a redeeming God. When

we say redeeming God, meaning he's able to save us.

He's able to take you out from the Marie Clay,

you know, he's able to actually set us free, right,

and some of us may be holding on to baggages

from the past. He could be past hurt, it could

be bitterness, you know, it could be things that sometimes

it's just there and it's always like a torn hitting

us every time life. It's us right, and you know what,

God wants to set us free completely. He doesn't want

to just do it partially. But when he sets you free,

he sets you free completely right. And that is the

promise that He has given us, and we've got to

take that, yeah, redeeming us. He's a redeeming God who

delve this people. And that is when we read on

in chapter three chapter four, he calls Moses to deliver.

The moment he and Moses encountered God in the burning bush,

the next thing he did was that he started delivering

the people. Yeah, how many of you need to be

delivered today? It could be in the form of physical Yeah,

it could be in the form of his spirit being delivered.

And we know that as we read the scriptures, that

he's a redeeming God who sends a savior for his people,

and the Old Testament, the savior that he chose was Moses. Right,

he sent Moses to redeem the people. And of course

now we have Jesus as our savior, right, our savior.

This is the God that vis of, a God who redeems,

a God who saves, delivers he and he is the

one who sends someone to save us him. So the

question that goes back to us whether we want to

experience God in our worm every day? Right? And if

you desire that, it's about positioning ourselves our minds our hearts. Right.

And you know, one of the most quiet times or

the precious times I have, is sometimes in my car,

you know, because I leave home very early these days

to beat that the traffic has been getting really bad.

So I'm out of home sixtty these days. Again, I'm

at office, you know, before seven sometimes, and so I'll

usually park in a quieter place and that's where I'll

just do my quiet time to worship God, to praise Him.

And I felt God so much every moment, you know,

when I just welcome his presence and I say, God,

would you come, come and fill this day with your presence.

I don't want to enter this day without your presence. Yeah.

Sometimes you know, things can just work out because remember

he gives us a free will, right, it gives us

choices in life, and things can just work out. But

I don't think we want to be in a place

when God is not there. Right, when God is not there,

because we are called, we are called to do his will,

were called to serve him. And IV is not there,

We're going to miss out on what He's trying to

teach us or trying to tell us. Right to invite

extreme forward am And so as we you know, come

to a close today's message, I just pray that each

one of us will desire for that to encounter God

for yourself, right, encounter God, not just because someone said

he is good. But you can tell yes, I have

tasted that God is good. I know what, Sometimes it's

harder to say that when you may be going through

hard times, when you're still waiting, but He has not

forgotten you. He's going to remind someone here today, Yeah,

that God has not forgotten. His presence is always there

with you, even in the times when it feels like

it's a long wait or things are not working out.

Remember Moses had that waiting. He was with the sheeps

for a long time until he encountered God for himself.

And then you know, we see all the miracles that

happened the rat seas and right, but we all need

that one moment, that one touch from God, and when

you catch it, you will run. You will run with

the focus that God is with me. Yeah, God is

with me. Amen. If we just stand together, we're just

gonna even close this time in worship. And most importantly

I have been you know, I feel that it's a

place of surrender, right, surrendering all that we are to God.

Some of us need to surrender our minds, you know,

renewing of our minds. That maybe a lot of things,

maybe chatters that are going on and saying God, I

want to surrender my mind to you. May you renew

it with your word. Fill me with your word. Some

of us need to surrender our hearts, and you're saying, God,

I want to come clean before you so that I

will not miss out. When you show me that burning

bush in my life, I will not miss out.
