You're listening to a message to go from X church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
X chapter two, Verse seventeen twenty one. What does it say? Okay,
-
let me give you a little bit of a context.
-
So this in X chapter Do you know that our
-
church name is based on X chapter two? You know? Right?
-
I can see a lot of you don't know. After today,
-
I hope you remember this X chapter two. Read X
-
chapter two. Hey, what does X just believe in a
-
Read X chapter two? What does extrospectice? Why do EXTRA
-
just do all these things? Read X chapter two? Then
-
you understand why we do homes while we take communion right,
-
first Sunday of the month, right, why we plan churches
-
while we're big on witnessing right, why we do discipleship right?
-
It's all an except the two. And why do we
-
call ourself X? Because well, we want to go back
-
to the first church, which is the church of X,
-
where the leader of the church is the Holy Spirit,
-
not a man, not a woman, but the Holy Spirit, right,
-
And that is where we are going. Okay, So what
-
happened is that this is when if you read X
-
chapter two, uds one, the day of the Pentecosts. Okay,
-
is very important as a believer to know some of
-
these things. You know that, So if you don't know,
-
please go and study it yourself. Go and read up
-
a bit about yourself, because I'm beginning to realize that
-
in the days to come, or in the days right now,
-
there's a lot of Wow, this is a very strong
-
word to use, a false teaching. Yeah, sorr, Yeah, I
-
use the word Bible word, false teaching. Okay, there's a
-
lot of there's a lot of opinions about faith, right,
-
there's a lot of ideas, exciting ideas about faith, but
-
not everything is from the Bible. So you gotta be
-
very careful as a believer. And do you know that
-
everyone here can actually test, you can test. You know
-
it can test. You know that you can actually test
-
whether it's true or not by basing it on the
-
word of God. Even today, whatever I'm sharing you, you
-
can actually test whether it's true or not by reading
-
the word of God. You catch that. So it's very
-
important to know something. So I will encourage you to
-
do your own study because if not, you're gonna be
-
swight left and right. You're gonna go according to trends
-
and what's popular. And then the said thing is that
-
you might lose your weight, right, you might lose your way, okay,
-
so be careful. So what happened was the Holy Spirit came, right,
-
The Holy Spirit came, and then there was a sound
-
from heaven, a rushing mightay w in right. It filled
-
the whole house. And before that, one hundred and twenty
-
of them were praying upstairs, right, waiting for the helper,
-
waiting for this day. You know, when Jesus said he
-
will send a helper. Right, and they're all filled with
-
the Holy Spirit. Okay, so it says here and that
-
appeared to them divided as a fire, one set upon
-
each of them, and they will all filled with the
-
Holy Spirit and begin to speak with other tongues as
-
a spirit gave acterns. That's why when we talk about,
-
you know, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, we are
-
talking about the baptism off. Or you don't know, let
-
me try that again. We are talking about the baptism off. Okay,
-
let me give you a hint. Okay, as a believer,
-
you receive Christ, right, then you have to go through
-
what baptism. Hey, guys, come on, can you respond to
-
me or not? You're what? Baptism off? Hello, good morning,
-
I thought you were awake. Come on, everybody, church church, Come,
-
let's baptism off. Okay, let's reverse a bit. First, baptism
-
is baptism off? What's okay? Well, I feel I'm doing
-
a kindergarten class. And then the Holy Spirit Spirit baptism
-
is a baptism of fire. Wow, some you look at me.
-
I'm like doing lesson. Okay, guys, this is basic fundamentals.
-
Please remember today. Go back and listen to the message. Okay,
-
it's not just I believe in Jesus, that's it. No. No,
-
life is hard, Life is complicated. Life shows all kinds
-
of things that you and if you do not understand
-
your faith or understand your role as a child of God,
-
you're gonna suffer. You're gonna be sweight left and right.
-
So some of these things, although I'm sharing it is
-
very elementary. I'm not trying to knock you. I'm trying
-
to encourage you understand your faith. Because when you understand
-
your faith, you understand the God you serve, and you
-
understand his power, and you understand when you pray, you're
-
not praying empty words. But you're praying prayers or power
-
that will happen. You want to experience God. Right, God
-
is real, He is alive. Okay, better get back to
-
the message X Chapter two, verse seventeen. That's where I
-
want to go. And it shall come to pass. And
-
this is Peter he's preaching. Okay. It says here it
-
shall come to pass in the last day. It says God,
-
that I will pour out my spirit on all flesh.
-
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy. Your young men
-
shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
-
And on my man servants and my maid servants. I
-
will pour out my spirit in those days, and they
-
shall prophesy. I will show wonders in heaven and above,
-
and signs in the earth beneath blood and fire and
-
vapor of smoke. Right, and the sun shall be turned
-
into darkness and the moon into blood before the coming
-
of the great and awesome Day of the Lord. And
-
it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the
-
name of the Lord shall be saved. Do you know?
-
And then of course after that, people God say, then
-
the church first church started three thousand people got to
-
say the first Church started. This is our church, his
-
three friends. We got to understand and know our church
-
history no matter what other people say. This read the
-
first Church started. Okay, it's very clear written here, and
-
I want to encourage you some of these things that
-
I just read. It is very applicable to us today
-
because it says here that whoever calls on the name
-
of the Lord shall be saved. So let me ask
-
you another elementary question. Have you called on the name
-
of the Lord for yourself? Think about it? Oh, but then, Baselvan,
-
I didn't call on the name of the Lord. I'm
-
just I accept Christ same thing because we believe that
-
God saves and God sent his son, his only big
-
goden son, to die for all sins. That's why we
-
say that Jesus is our Savior. So all of you
-
here who profess that your Christian and profess you know
-
and has received Christ in your life, you have called
-
upon the name of the Lord. This is not some
-
cryptic thing that happened that you know a pastor of
-
a pullah or a prophet pulla and have very flowery
-
words that make us go ooh. No, it is a
-
promise from God that whoever who calls on the name
-
of the Lord shall be saved. You know you'll catch
-
that design is applicable to us, because I trust that
-
everybody here, I hope so have called upon the name
-
of the Lord. And if you have called upon the
-
name of the Lord, you are safe. I don't know
-
whether you're caught that in that way before or not.
-
Let me reverse a little bit, and it says here
-
I will pour out my spirit in those days right,
-
and they shall prophestigh. I will show wonders in heaven,
-
a birth, and science in the earth beneath. Do you
-
know that when God said he will pour out his spirit,
-
he has already done it when the Pentecosts happened. So
-
God's spirits here He has poured out in his spirit
-
on who who my man servants and my maid servants yourlla.
-
God has done that, not to somebody who got named
-
pastor not to somebody who got named prophet or evangelist
-
or No. Everyone here, if you serve God, God has
-
poured out his spirit on you. You guys catch that not.
-
You gotta understand this, No, you don't understand this. As
-
a believer, right, then you're going to be living life,
-
not tapping into this not understanding the depth of scripture
-
in your life, not just that the relevance of scripture
-
in your life. But where did Paul get this scripture from? Because,
-
of course, if I'm saying that, he means that God
-
or poor spirit, right, he really did on the day
-
where Paul preached this. Do you know that, Paul, Hey,
-
not Paul, Sorry, Peter, Peter quoted this scripture from the
-
prophet Joel. Let's do a little bit of the study. Okay,
-
let's go back to the Old Testament, Joel. Chapter two,
-
verse one says, blow the trumpet in sion and sound
-
an alarm in my holy mountain. Let all the inhabitants
-
of the land tremble, for the day of the Lord
-
is coming, for itdies at hand. So first point, the
-
day of the Lord is coming. Well, now I sound
-
like some end time spitted. Okay, the day of the
-
Lord is coming. Well, Actually, the day of the Lord
-
came really because Jesus came. And of course we believe
-
that's coming again. Right, that's what we believe, as believe
-
us Jesus coming again. All the way, it's not a
-
joab Jesus so suffering at his life come back faster.
-
And then for those that are single, Jesus don't come again.
-
I won't get married first. Those are married, it Jesus comeing.
-
Youre faster, y'all. Don't get the joke. It's fine. Are
-
they very happily married or you're happily single, Good for you.
-
But the day of the Lord is coming, or it
-
has come a ready, friends, it has been prophesied in Joel,
-
And the day of the Lord has come. Why because
-
Jesus don't across the Holy of Holy is part stone,
-
and God's spirits potter on our flesh. That's the significance
-
of our faith. Friends, we're living in today, Okay. Joel
-
Chapter two, verse chielf to thirteen says. Now, therefore says
-
the Lord, turn to me with all your heart, with fasting,
-
with weeping, with mourning. So rent your heart and not
-
your garments. Return to the Lord, your God, for his
-
gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness,
-
and he relents from doing harm. So what does this mean? Friends?
-
The day of the Lord is come. Yes, but there
-
is a call to repentance. You'll understand the word called
-
to repentance. I'm beginning to understand more and more nowadays.
-
What does it mean to repent? Right? Just because we
-
are safe by Christ doesn't mean we don't need to repent.
-
We still need to repent daily. You know why, because
-
you're not perfect. You make mistakes. You said, Jesus, clean
-
my you know, cleanse me. Tan's my sins. But we
-
are still on this earth. We still get hurt by people,
-
We still make mistakes. We are still by products of
-
our history and our family background. You know, we still
-
get angry. We still do things we don't mean to do.
-
Paul in the scripture says, I do the things I
-
don't want to do correct, no, friends, and all the
-
things I want to do I don't do. Right. I
-
do want to eat the doughnut by really really, I
-
want to exercise and have six backs by don't do.
-
That's human nature, right, that's human nature. That's why we
-
need to understan repentance. That's why we can always go
-
back to Christ and say, Lord, I'm sorry, I repent,
-
help me, And there is a transformation that happens in
-
your life. Friends. This is the powerful thing about following Jesus,
-
that we are never the same again. And for some
-
of us it's just like that. Change transform. Last time
-
used to smoke, Now don't smoke anymore. Last time used
-
to be addicted to something, Now not addicted anymore. Praise
-
God for that. But you're still here, You're still you.
-
You're not perfect, right, you still need to rely on
-
Jesus and the Holy Spirit, Coriana. So the repentance is continuous, right,
-
because we're constantly having to come to g and say, Jesus,
-
I'm so sorry. But you want to know, the cool
-
thing about that is that you can at least still
-
say sorry. At least you can repent. That's the powerful
-
thing about our faith. A man's can still be made
-
well as long as you're still a lifeline. That's why
-
every time when you know you want to prepare someone
-
who's going to pass already, you first start saving to
-
go and forgive everybody. Please, don't hold any more grudges
-
for what you're ready that beat you're gonna go to
-
see Jesus, id better forgive. We ask everybody who got
-
broughing this person better coming for you know, as for
-
forgiveness clear, so that that thing doesn't become bitterness in
-
your life. Do you know that it's very difficult. When
-
someone passed on ready and you still hate the person,
-
how do you deal it? Difficult? That's why there's repentance
-
for us. So first there's a call to repentance, friends,
-
and then the day of the Lord has come. How
-
is this significant in our life today? Think about it?
-
You want Christ to move in your life? Well, repent,
-
turn away, turn away from your sins. The lady who
-
was going to be stoned, the adult trust who was
-
caught right handed, Not by Jesus, no by the you know,
-
holy people. Right in today's context, it'll be the church workers. Yeah, really,
-
let's be honest about that. Let's be very honest about that.
-
Right brought it to Jesus. Jesus, how what should we do?
-
They want to catch him because you know they are
-
righteous man, but they're still human. And what did Jesus say?
-
Let the first without saying cast the first stone? Story?
-
Story one left. It started with the older people. You
-
know why old people wise? No, older people are wiser
-
they are. And then now one by one the older
-
people left and then left the young people whilst the
-
young people therefore, why did they leave late? Well, they
-
just wanted the action. They don't really care about what happened.
-
That's how young people are, right, I just want to
-
But since all the old people left, you know, cannot
-
be a you know, I pick up the stone? Can
-
I better go? Sola? Until there was no one there?
-
And you know what Jesus said to her? And when,
-
of course just writing. I don't know. He was writing
-
on the floor. Okay, they say a lot of things
-
are all he's writing. They're seeing everything whatever, okay, whatever
-
he is writing there, I don't know. Maybe he's drawing
-
a picture. I don't know. But when he looked up
-
and he saw the lady, what did he say? Where
-
are your accusers? Women? Say the lafe. Do you know
-
what his response was? Oh, you're forgiven? Bye bye. He
-
said that, well he kind of say that. But you
-
know what else? He said, go and sin no more?
-
What does that mean? It means she has to stop
-
doing whatever she's doing. Corina, We cannot take Christa as
-
a get out of jail free. Can't no friends live
-
our lives with ignorancer thinking that Jesus will clear and
-
set everything out and we don't repent your cashtan okay.
-
Share The condition of the heart is very important because
-
if we are not careful. We're going to get sucked
-
into the world and do things that we think is permissible.
-
And again, God loves us a That's why this whole
-
faith thing is very interesting, because the punishment is not yet,
-
the judgment is not yet. While we're here, we are
-
living in the time of grace, right, but the condition
-
of the heart is very important. So there is a
-
call to repentance. Friends in Joel, let's continue reading Joel,
-
chapter two of Verus eighteen to twenty seven. Are you guys? Okay,
-
I hope you're catching something, But say Ovin, what does
-
he have to do it? Dream again? Now you haven't
-
even thought about yet? Yes, I haven't thought about that yet.
-
Wait getting there. I don't know that you ever remember,
-
but you name the type dream again, Joel? Yeah, so
-
Juel Chapter two of Us eighteen twenty seven. Case very long. Okay,
-
I'm gonna glory a bit, he says here. Then the
-
Lord will be zealous, voice land and pity his people.
-
You see, the day of the Lord is a hand repent.
-
And now what happens when you repent? The Lord will
-
be zealous, hoist people and pitter his people. Right, the
-
Lord will answer and say to his people, Behold, I
-
will send you grain and new wine and oil, and
-
you will be satisfied with them. I will no longer
-
make you a reproach among the nations. Way, while you're saying, well,
-
I'm telling you that God will save you, but you
-
got to repent first, how do you help? And this
-
our parents and teachers understand that if a student did
-
something wrong or not so good, are you gonna say
-
that they're everything's okay and give them their reward? No right?
-
They will have to change their behavior. Then maybe if
-
you'll realize that the person has honestly, true fully changed
-
or at least is trying to, then you will help
-
them correct. But why when it comes to most of
-
the time our relationship with God, he is center Claus. God,
-
you love me right, Please allow me to do whatever
-
I want in my life. You love me right. Friends,
-
God is not mocked. God is not mocked. Repentance first,
-
then God comes true. Let's not be ignorant. Our actions
-
carry weight and consequences in life, whether we like it
-
or not. There's life, you know, and again, not not
-
always are perfect. But what is the saving grace? The
-
saving grace is no matter how bad things get, we
-
can always go to him. That is the wonderful thing.
-
Although you can say, well, so strict, no, it is
-
a saving grace because no matter how bad things get,
-
you can go to God and say God, I'm so sorry,
-
I repent help me, and immediately He will come to
-
your aid. God will restore what his lost friends. That
-
is what will happen. And then Joel chapter two, verse
-
twenty eight to thirty two, if you want to go,
-
it is what Peter shared, and it shall come to
-
pass afterward that will pour out my spirit and all flesh.
-
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy. Your old man
-
shall dream dreams again. This is where the dreams come from. Okay,
-
your young man shall see the visions, and then so
-
on and so forth. So you see the sequence. The
-
day of the lie is at hand. So we you
-
know God stays coming. Well, came Redila coming again. Maybe
-
I would declare that the day of the Law is
-
a hand for your life, because if you call upon
-
him you will be safe. But what has to happen repentance,
-
turn from your wicked ways, I mean, whatever it is like. Okay,
-
go read the Bible. When you know figure out what
-
is wicked? You have to figure out? Can you mean
-
just go point finger and say stuff not that's just opinions.
-
Ask God to search your heart, deal with the issues
-
in your heart, and then God will come. Then God
-
will come like a rushing wind to save you in
-
your situation, whatever it may be. And then He will
-
pour out his spirit on you. That part to me
-
is amazing. Right, So who is this spirit? Let's study
-
a little bit more. Who is the Spirit? X Chapter two,
-
verse one of four. We read it just now right,
-
we're talking about the Holy Spirit. We are talking about
-
the Holy Spirit. Oh, before that, let me give you
-
this introduction so that there's relevance to what I'm sharing
-
this morning. Have you given up on your dreams in life?
-
Or maybe you have lost hope? Well or maybe for
-
most of you, I realize you're not there yet. Last like,
-
you're still fine, haven't lost hope yet? You know you're cool? Fine?
-
You can still then how to solve? Like they say,
-
prevention is better than you're right? I want to let
-
you know exter us and everyone, So, can I guess
-
make a all of you here about exterer us. If
-
you are, can you just wave everyone here exceri us,
-
exter us, exter us. Yes, yes, about the church. This
-
is your home. You are get great. So this message
-
for you exter us. Okay, this message for you. God
-
wants exch Us to dream again, both as a church
-
plan and as the people in the church plan. He
-
wants you to dream again. But there's always a butler.
-
There is a recipe to experience what God means by
-
abundant life. There is a recipe. It is not by association,
-
because if it's by association, then great, all of us
-
are good ready? Right then Jesus will say, come affiliate
-
yourself with me and you'll be fine. No, what did
-
you just say? Follow me? Follow me? That's why he said.
-
Follow him means do what everything that he teaches. Follow
-
him corona become disciples of Christ. Well, ask a tough question.
-
Don't have to answer. Please smile at me. Are you
-
following Jesus? Think about it. I asked myself this question. Jesus,
-
Am I following you or not? When I get ingraded?
-
My son, when I say this thing, you know, I
-
get upset. Am I following you? Or do I forgive?
-
Because you say how many times? Give our God? Seven times?
-
Seventy seven times. Well he sail not seven times, but
-
say sven times? Are you're going to slowly Countcer on
-
his own times? When I forgive ready? One, two, three?
-
Can I flip it a little bit? How many times
-
have God forgiven you a ready? Can you count? Think
-
about it? Friends, Let's not be ignorant, you know, let's
-
have wisdom in our lives. Who is the spirit that
-
is so important? The Holy Spirit, who was promised by
-
Christ came on this earth. That's what we believe as acts.
-
I don't know what other churches believe, is fine, I'm
-
not going to judge them, right, It's up to them.
-
But this church believes in the Holy Spirit. Okay, the
-
Holy Spirit is who the spirit of God? We talk
-
about the spirit oh God? Right? You know in our benediction,
-
God the Father got the Son and God the Holy Spirit? Right?
-
What is the spirit of God? Well, he is the
-
presence of God. Does sound this word sounds familiar to you?
-
God's presence is here, Holy spirits here, Llah, God's presence
-
is with you. Holy Spirit is in you. So when
-
you receive Christ, what happens? Oh, when I receive Christ,
-
I will muscle the membership the Angel will open the
-
book of life, write my name there. That's it done.
-
Nothing happens here right. No, when you receive Christ wholeheartedly,
-
God's Spirit, which is the Holy Spirit, will come and
-
resign on you. That's what we believe in your cash there, No,
-
when that happens. The Holy spreits me all the time,
-
even I go to the toilet, Yes, even when I sin. Yes,
-
if you didn't realize, nobody thought when we come, chisho
-
nigo God Spirit. But when we leave, all God's Spirit
-
is stay here. A lot in Prescott is until we
-
come back again next week. Right. I wonder when I'm
-
challenging a thought process on a little bit this morning,
-
if the Holy Spirit is not in your life when
-
you do devotion and when God speak to you, where
-
does the boys come from in your heart? Or true
-
phone call? If any of you get phone called by God?
-
Pleas you know, I want to talk to you. God
-
spirits in your heart? Amen? Who is he? Friends? Who
-
is the Holy Spirit? He is our helper? He is
-
a person. He's not an energy electricity. You know, he's
-
a person. You mean I can talk to him? Yes?
-
You know what we say. Jesus left Redeemer Corona. I
-
mean we pray to Christ. Right, we pray to God.
-
Prayer to Christ, God of Father Christ, who is the
-
connecting point Holy Spirit. La. Course he's here with us.
-
He's here with us today. God's presence is here with
-
us today. That's why we say that your body is
-
a temple of the that's the scripture. Is the scripture
-
making sense? A little bit more sense to you now? No,
-
it's not complicated one. No, something I feel I don't
-
know why people can complicate it. Right, Spirit of God, part
-
of the Trinity, Father, Son, Holy Spirit, very important. Why
-
because we see it here we baptize people like that,
-
I baptize you in the name of Selene. No, I
-
baptize you and the God, the Father, God, the Son
-
and Holy fraid Hello, If it's not important, then why
-
we baptize people at that? Oh? Of course it's a mantra. No,
-
you gotta understand why we do things. Friends, Can I
-
challenge your mind a little bit? Let's talk a little
-
bit about the Holy Spirit. Does I know I don't
-
have much time withy and I'll share you a story. Okay,
-
So I'm gonna breeze is true real fast again? So
-
I give you homework. I give a scripture. You go ahead,
-
we cannot okay, I give you a scripture. So first point,
-
the spirit convicts our hearts of sin. So when you
-
feel bad, it's not Jiminy cricket by your side. For
-
those that are all enough to understand who that guys is.
-
You don't understand Jiminy cricket going to ask people my
-
age John sixteen eight. Go back and read the scripture.
-
The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, so when
-
we are part of God's presence, we understand sin. That's
-
why Christians very hard to do bad things. One we
-
will feel horrible, not because we have a higher moral
-
where you know, because God's spirit will convict our hearts.
-
But you want to know the scary bit. If you
-
continue to ignore that little nudging in your heart, after
-
a while, your heart will become numb and then everything
-
is permissible despite your affiliation by come Joshua doesn't matter
-
because God's presence in you, and it's up to you
-
on a daily basis whether you want to speak to him,
-
allow him to lead your life or not. Because after
-
a while, when you don't say Jesus take the wheel Jesus,
-
get your hands off the wheel, or all Holy sprigate
-
your hands off the wheel, will of your life driving. Okay,
-
if you get a concept, then after a while, do
-
you know that God he will just let you do
-
whatever you want. The wide people can follow away. But
-
because there's repentance, there is still a way back in
-
your catch. That your catch. That second point, the Spirit
-
transforms us by being born again, as in not us
-
the spirit born again, but us being born again because
-
the Spirit gives us new life. Decide, we believe when
-
a person believes in Christ, they become born again, not
-
in a physical sense, but in a spiritual sense. That
-
the old man dies and the new man is rebirth.
-
You're getting all this concept. It's not complicated. It's well,
-
actually it sounds complicated a loud okay, but that's what happens.
-
John three, John chapter three, verse five eight. Wat read that. Okay,
-
someone is born again. He says, here, most surely I
-
say to you, And as one is born on what
-
the spirit, spirit is fire, he cannot enter the Kingdom
-
of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh,
-
and dead which is born of the spirit spirit. Okay.
-
Third point, the spirit actually leads us to live for
-
God he does, to live a different life as children
-
of God. That's why you hear so many testimonies about
-
how people before they believer, they live like that, but
-
after the realer they live differently. Oh, because they have
-
a very strong moral resolve. Right, No, it's because the
-
Spirit leads them. It's because when we allow God to say, God,
-
I want you to take over, he does. And that's
-
where he works with us. And that's where he tells
-
us a designer shouldn't dola. But it's still our choice.
-
We still have a choice to decide what to do.
-
To say God's way or the world's way or my way.
-
We have to decide Romans eight twelve to seventeen. He
-
says here, for if you live according to the flesh,
-
you will die. But if by the spirit you put
-
to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
-
You want to live abandon life in Christ, in Christ,
-
in God, then you got to put to death the
-
things of the flesh. Right, I don't know which point
-
you deep, I'm just gonna read the point. So the
-
point is the spirit teaches us and reminds us of
-
Christ's teachings. This are I quite like John fourteen twenty
-
six says, But the helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the
-
Father will send in my name, he will teach you
-
all things and bring to you remembers all things that
-
I send to you. Okay, I'm just gonna give you
-
an example, and then you will well figure out whether
-
you experience it or not. And we have not experienced
-
it yet, then maybe you have not experienced the Spirit
-
working in life yet. Maybe because not because he's not there. No,
-
because maybe you'll be ignoring him all this while I
-
don't know, or only come to church, only listen out
-
of church, don't listen. I don't know. Okay, I'm just
-
making assumption. But have you ever experienced that you read
-
the word of God? See, we read God's word, and
-
all we don't remember everything on right, I don't remember everything.
-
You do remember everything I don't. Also, I don't think.
-
I don't know. I don't know who has Like you know,
-
I sometimes look at some pastes. While they can, like
-
you know, quote scripture, I mean I want to scriptures.
-
I can quote costs. I like it. Lah, okay, but
-
not all scriptures. But have you experienced, especially those of
-
you who are mature Chasians. Have you ever experienced before
-
that there was a situation or a prayer or something
-
that happened and suddenly, Diba diba, suddenly, not accidentally, suddenly
-
this scripture was dropping your heart. That is the Holy Spirit.
-
Many times when I because I have the chance to
-
minister to people, encourage them, counsel them. A lot of times,
-
I tell you fifty percent at the time, I kind
-
of don't remember what I said to them. I remember
-
I was talking to all my guys and he said like, oh, yeah,
-
the time we mentioned diseaseaes right, and the time was
-
not past it. And I'm like, wow, that sounds very good.
-
But I don't remember ever saying that. I wish I
-
could write down all the quotes that I said that
-
people say it was good, which I don't remember. Do
-
you know that that was not me? My God? That
-
is the partnership happening. That's why the Spirit teaches us
-
and reminds us of God's teaching. He's really working in
-
our lives. No friends, just wondering whether I'm making sense
-
or not by giving you this thought. So I want
-
to encourage you to engage him a little bit more
-
cannot engage him a little bit more on your life. Right,
-
don't have to come to pasta to activate anything. It's
-
really activated because those who call upon the name of
-
the Lord shall be safe. Scripture said. Okay, next one,
-
the Spirit interceeds for us in our weakness, Romans aid
-
verus toed it. Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses,
-
for we do not know what we should pray for
-
as we are. You know something you don't not have
-
to pray, especially when you're read this stress. You don't
-
not to pray, right, But the Spirit himself makes intercession
-
for us with groanings which cannot be uttered to the
-
Spirit in us is constantly interceeding for us. Okay, listen,
-
everybody knows one. If you are you know you go
-
to uh ex kids, you will notice the Spirit gives
-
us gifts for the ministry. First Quarrinthians Child seventeen to eleven. Right,
-
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each
-
one for the profit of all. For to one is
-
given the world of wisdom to the Spirit to another
-
knowledge thrue you know, through the same spirit, to another
-
faith to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit
-
to another, the working of miracles to another, prophecy to another,
-
discerning spirits, right, but one and the same spirit works
-
all these things, distributing to each one individually as he
-
wills in exchu us. And I don't know whether you
-
guys have done the five zo ministry thing. Maybe the
-
leaders have done before. And my encouragement to the leaders is,
-
are you practicing your five four ministry because you're popular? Huh?
-
I never knew, right? Couse? You know practice that they's
-
that you don't know, ma, But if you know and
-
you continue practice, then you go deeper in it and
-
you get better in it, and people will recognize the gifting.
-
Right in PJ. I just used Pj's example. There are
-
a lot of evangelists praise the Lord. We need to
-
reach more people, right, But all the evangelis didn't know
-
they were evangelists. So I'm like, you guys have not
-
been doing a job. Blah, Maybe you need to do
-
a bit of a job. But some of them we
-
know because after Sunday, after service, two or three of
-
them will go and meet people at the cafe and
-
talk to them and pray for them, and every time
-
they will be thinking, when can I invite this person
-
the church. Isn't that an evangelist gifting? Who gave the
-
gifting the spirit? So you see, just because you have
-
the gif doesn't mean you will use it. So my
-
encouragement is, can you discover what is the gift you
-
have and use it for the benefit of the church
-
and the benefit of your life, because when you start
-
getting involved in some of these things, it's very exciting. One.
-
When you start seeing God move in your life beyond
-
your own efforts, it's very exciting one. That's my encouragement.
-
So I don't know what are the giftings in extra us.
-
I mean I'm not here all the time to know.
-
Maybe surely no, maybe passa Gloria or no right find
-
out Lah, ask them la. Maybe they also need to
-
be encouraged, you know, if you know, I don't know
-
what's okay? As well as your fifle first two talk
-
teacher and wha serious are time to blunt today? I
-
tell your mind mine is a passon teacher. Third, very
-
close now is evangelists. Last time was low like low
-
run Now that has come up. You know Elaine was
-
your teacher and pastor. You know how I know? Of
-
course I know how where long did you you can
-
see the gifting? I wonder what gifting you'll have? Well,
-
start with the leaders first, that you know and when
-
we say avengels, you're not saying that. Okay, now we're
-
gonna do like Ryan ha bunke no no no, no, no,
-
right teacher, let me ask those who is in your homes?
-
Who is in her homes? She got shareword? Right? How
-
her shareword going on? Now? Like forced to say, have
-
pastor might come here before? You're like his message deep
-
but simple to understand. He's a true blue teacher at
-
he geeks out over scripture and I quite like see
-
him preasonal he got like some graph and they're like, oh,
-
how that makes a lot of sense. He's a teacher
-
and he's operating in the annoying thing that God has
-
given him. You see the power in that. So the
-
spirit gives us gifts for the ministry. The spirit produces
-
fruit within the life of a believer. So if it
-
goes on day school, you'll know this or so Galatians
-
five twenty two to twenty three. But the fruit, not fruits,
-
are fruit one fruit a love elements inside of the
-
spirit is love, joy, peace, long, suffering, kindness, goodness, gratefulness,
-
gentleness and self control. But pass I mean, I'm not
-
gentle at all. The maybe you here ask the spirit
-
to help you more and then after ahill you become
-
more gentle after a while you love people a little
-
bit more. If you knew who I was when I
-
twenty years ago, you will never have imagined. You know,
-
and something you know? I think I think we shall
-
know me from the last time. You will never have
-
imagine that I'm here doing this right now. You never
-
you will never. It's like this guy, he can't even
-
smile properly. He's so unfriendly when he's doing XTV. Do
-
you know that I've gotten like people are afraid of me?
-
Last time? I know because I think high stress, high stress,
-
high stress deep. I know the x TV were chill, okay,
-
but last time different because in front of now you
-
look at them last time. One thing wrong that everybody
-
look behind now you never have imagined. But I I
-
testify to you it is the transformation that God has
-
done in my own life because of the fruit of
-
the Spirit. Amen. Yeah, I think that's my last part
-
of the spirit. Rem Id said, God wants extraras to
-
dream again. God wants you to dream again. But friends,
-
there is a recipe to experiencing God's abandont life. I
-
pray that you will catch this today. If you're at
-
a place where you need to repent better repeentner, If
-
you're a place where you need to engage the spirit month,
-
please do because we need the Holy Spirit in our lives,
-
because God is in the business of restoration. I don't know,
-
maybe you will put in a situation, you know, when
-
people go to troubles in life, sometimes we will, you know.
-
Sometimes why I like to do. I tried find out
-
from them because if they're far away from the lotner
-
and they experience troubler and they come back to godner,
-
I think it's a good thing. You don't. You think
-
that's a good thing, although not so fun. Not I
-
made no fun. That's that every time I face trouble,
-
I meanly go to God God they're doing anything wrong?
-
You know. Else time we think that way or a
-
lot is anything, and you'll learn and grow right because
-
rather you know, deside. The Scripture says rather a manner right,
-
h will you? I think it says something to the
-
effect of what is it? What profit is it? A
-
man for a man to gain the whole world but
-
lose his soul, right, you're your catch that So you
-
rather someone don't have any issues in their life if
-
you're far away from God, or will you rather that
-
they have a little bit of trouble and they come
-
back to Him and then they experience about their life
-
with God, not without. That's the one. That's the interesting
-
thing about comfort. The more comfortable we are, the more
-
far away from God, you we might get one might get.
-
I'm not saying will get might get because we don't
-
need him only when we need go to come to him.
-
And I'm not saying God purposely create problem in your
-
life you now right if you feel that God's are
-
that he's not cruel most of the time. The problem
-
that's a uh, that's a continue saying to gay to
-
get your your you'll understand that. Yeah, you ask for
-
your problem. A lot of times are that sequences when
-
we decide on the things. So it's not intentional. But
-
when you realize and you come back like the prodigal son,
-
then you repair and then things to be restored. Amen.
-
So that's my declaration that God wants your to dream again.
-
But We've got to get our lives right to God right.
-
He wants to restore our dreams. Why is it important
-
for me to share as well? Remember I said that
-
you might be deceived. Let's not forget that in this
-
world that's another person. John ten Ten says, the thief
-
does not come to accept, to steal and to kill
-
and to destroy. I have come that they may have life,
-
and that they may have it more abundantly. Who is
-
the thief? Friends? Think about it? Who is the thief?
-
I always like to think of it this way. It's
-
the way I process my thoughts. When something happen, whether
-
it's in your life or in your church, who benefits?
-
I always ask this question. You know, if you're if
-
let's say you get angry at someone here, Okay, you know,
-
pass the gloria are too nice? You don't like and
-
live and live live? Who benefits? Our friends? When it happens,
-
pass the gloria benefits? Do you benefit? Who benefits? The
-
devil benefits? So are we continuously going to do things
-
that let the devil benefit? Or are we going to
-
start doing things that will cause us to benefit? Think
-
about it. I always apply that that evaluation. No like Okay,
-
this thing happened. Who benefits most of the time? The
-
church woll benefit? Or no, you don't most of the time.
-
But I don't know why a lot of people got
-
a problem. I think as serious. You're a fine Okay,
-
I'm just generalizing. You know, when people don't go home,
-
who benefit? Think about it? When people don't go prayers
-
with who benefits? When people are not committed to church,
-
who benefits? Think about it? Even when you commit to Esha,
-
you think the chick benefits? Yeah, che want more people,
-
So more people, more problems, more people, more problems. Friends,
-
you don't believe me, come and join ministry. Then you
-
will realize. Then you experience it. Ask the apostle here,
-
But we do it because we love people. Amen. Just
-
giving you some thoughts. So don't let the thief come
-
to steal, kill and destroy your joy. And don't allow
-
the thief to draw a division between you and God.
-
Don't don't It is pointless. Nobody earns anything out of it, right,
-
I feel it said when I see challenges sometimes like ah,
-
the devil benefits, we don't benefit. And God ask us
-
to forgive one another. God ask us to practice that.
-
You know, that's what got askers to do. Let me share,
-
if you where this message came from, and I'll share
-
a personal testimony and then a new how long do
-
I have? I know, I know A certainly okay, but
-
I end with this, can I hope you guys are
-
catching something out of it. Okay, I hope you are,
-
so give it a bit of context. So last year, yeah,
-
last year, last year Victory Academy, Okay, that's our school.
-
Of course, they were going through a bit of a
-
challenge with different things. But last year we had like
-
a mandate to sort revived the school through doing different things.
-
And one of the ideas that the you know management
-
you know, wanted to do was to do a school play,
-
you know, because with that, you know, we believe that
-
the young people will not just be able to express themselves,
-
to be able to learn not just skills, but also values,
-
you know, things like perseverance, you know, hard work and
-
stuff like that, not to say that they don't know,
-
but another form. So we did a play, and of
-
course Victory Academy a Y is very closely related. We're
-
like under the same organization Right, which X is also
-
part of RIGHT. And I work I worked for a
-
YA Okay, I'm not a full time pastor. Just let
-
you know. I work for Truma. No, of course he
-
intern with us. Okay, So I work for a y A.
-
But my full time job is I do I manage
-
a video department. Okay, That's what I do. Okay, So
-
people ask you got Monday off of course pastes and
-
no okay, after work tomorrow. So so what happened was
-
typically because I'm part of the video department and video play,
-
same same, I was dropped into this project to also
-
do something, okay, and can I be honest, I wasn't
-
very keen on it because aware busy, really right, So
-
I did it? Okay, did it? You know because our
-
lets do it together, a YA come together. We we
-
we we do the product together, and we managed to
-
produce something yay done. You know. It was quite challenge,
-
It was difficult. It was not fun, per se. I'd
-
beware honest with you. And everything that church come out
-
with it is awesome, right, Sorry, it's not everything that
-
you know, Christian's awesome, right, It's good right, you really
-
enjoy yourself, right, the workers have to work, okay, and
-
then come this year, Oh no, another play. Oh no,
-
I'm involved. I really plan really in my miner. Okay,
-
I'm going to present this present day. I'm going to
-
present this to my management and say I cannot participate
-
because you know, I have a lot of other things
-
to do and it's valid, not valid, and and you know,
-
maybe someone else can take it up, or someone else
-
can can be a part of it, right, And and
-
I was planning to ready, but I got too busy,
-
and it was kind of like, you know, like deadlines
-
are looming. You're supposed to do something, but you haven't done,
-
and it's solely loom loom loom, loom loom, and you're like,
-
you need to write a script, right, And I thought,
-
I write script first, and then I exit. You know,
-
at least I gave a script, you know, at least
-
I did something land right, because who else right? Right?
-
So I write, at least I gave something. Then easier
-
for me to say, bye bye, right, okay, here the script,
-
bye bye, your help, Okay, I will go do other things.
-
That was on my heart but don't know why. And
-
I remember two weeks, it was a two week thing.
-
I got so busier. Well, I felt like being pushed
-
off the clift kind of busy, you know, right, because
-
you do script, you do. And then and I'm like,
-
and then I didn't have a chance to talk through
-
the management yet and the script was not done at all.
-
And let's just say that it came to a point.
-
You know, some people, right when they push off the
-
h right, there's only two ways you'll go. You either
-
go all out or you'll give up. Okay, give up.
-
It's not in my vocabulary. I think so far that
-
has not happened. So I went the other direction. I
-
wen the youyolo direction. Okay, you know your low you
-
only fans, So I yolo warm made out the script
-
in two days. Yeah, we have the help of CHADBD.
-
I had to put that in. And I know you
-
have to write, okay. And then God changed my perspective.
-
God asked me, Delvin, why are you so not happy
-
doing this? I'm like, but God, I'm so busy. Right,
-
this is even not my idea. Someone else want to
-
do it, you know, see, we all these thoughts. And
-
then I'm like, yeah, but what why? You know it's
-
it takes up the day in my week. You know,
-
I could do a lot of things that day it's
-
a whole day. You know, I have to deal with
-
these kids. Not easy. I really respect teachers after that,
-
not easy to deal with young kids. Two of my
-
sons go to that school. And this is the perspective, Elvin.
-
Where else in this world where you as a dad
-
can be directly involved in your kid's life in school.
-
Where else even if I, let's say that, let's say
-
they study in another school, and even if I really
-
wanted to do this with them, I would probably have
-
to take a one day live, commit my one day
-
life and go and offer myself to the school to
-
do whatever they want me to do, even if I
-
really wanted to. But this one now is a little
-
unique course. Its power world. So I am quote unquote
-
allowed to do it. Right, change your perspective? And I
-
was like, oh yeah, actually okay, and not so bad
-
as what you get to be part of. I get
-
to do something that my kids can actually benefit from,
-
right although it's small work and all, but it changed
-
my perspective. And then I said remind, I say, Yolo, okay, God,
-
let's just do it. La. We will think about next
-
and next year, but let's just give it our best.
-
Let's just let me just do my best. Let me
-
just give it my all, Let me just give it everything. Right,
-
I went the other direction, you know, not disrection, not
-
middle disrection all the way. Okay, do or die. Don't
-
worry so much, of course, take your yourself and now,
-
but just give my best, right, give my best within
-
my gifting, give my best with all these things. Don't
-
think about the renumeration, don't think about the benefit, don't
-
think about all these things. Just give my best and
-
honor you with this. And then the testimonies came. Can
-
we me show the last picture this d year, friends,
-
this year, let me show you on testimony. So we
-
run it. And of course after that, I mean, from
-
the script I think to the actual play is a
-
few months las. So it was a your lo like whatever,
-
I just do, you know, and then got so changed
-
my heart, and then from the dragging feet too, it
-
became more, hey, this is not so bad, Hey, this
-
not so hey, it's still working our friends, it's still
-
working on my schedule didn't change because of this. I
-
didn't start. God didn't certainly open the door and say, Elvin,
-
now you don't have to do these other ten projects
-
because you're focusing on this No, the's ten projects, you're
-
there are friends. I said, to work hard. But it
-
was a surrender to the lord after that revelation to say, okayla,
-
since no one has chanced, I got this chance, let
-
me just do it. Let me just be faitful with it.
-
And then this where the testimonies came. Underplay. The title
-
is let my People Grow. Actually about just's we're father,
-
He's father the same school. We did the play a
-
week before the play because we had it in uh
-
jaia Wan. I mean, the management decided to do Jaiauan.
-
So because I'm from bj we meet in jai Wan
-
and I know the management, so I helped make the booking, okay,
-
very convenient. Okay, so the week before one of the
-
students came, one of the main actors came. I mean,
-
I want to say who, but I think Jason might know.
-
One of the main actors came. Make actresses came right
-
because wanted to see the stage. Because the dad came
-
to check the sound. You know, the dad was partly
-
sound Tam and this student, I would say, unfortunately, it's
-
from a broken family. Okay, not the best, you know,
-
but from a broken family, and I'm aware, you know,
-
and it's not, but it's still okay. So came and
-
then after church, you know, we finished, and the students
-
sitting there and so, hey, you came, and he said
-
you have to check out the place. Oh yeah, to
-
check out the place. And I say, hey, come on,
-
come on the stag sho so they can feel it,
-
can now. Yeah, of course this is our church, so
-
come sorry, brought the staurant on station with standing there looking.
-
I mean, people are like packing up, going ready, going
-
off ready, And then the students said to me, no, pastor,
-
I feel like, oh well, I'm like, oh why Because
-
when I was growing up. The student's mom worked for
-
the theater company that managed Jaya one Pgli Fasttu part
-
time and the owners had no kids. The owner to
-
manage the theata company had no kids, so they always
-
give free tickets to the mom to bring her kids
-
to come. So she said, when I was younger, I
-
used to sit there where you're sitting now, and I
-
used to watch the play. But now I'm here, I'm
-
going to perform next week. Oh I'm damn, like I said,
-
I almost cried. Why do I almost cry? Not because
-
the play, not because but because if the play can
-
be a core memory, a good core memory in the
-
life of a young person whose life is messy, why
-
not do it? Think about it? To me, it was
-
all worth it. But there were more testimonies. Let me
-
show you one more and I'll end. So we did
-
the play the following way. Everybody happy. I mean, there
-
are a lot of other testimonies are but this are
-
the two that I really really stuck. The man one
-
of the students. So we have five dancers. One of
-
the students. One of the dancers, she's wear timmate and
-
everywhere she will wear mass and she will opened the face.
-
She won't talk to you. She's shy. Even the the
-
mom would say, I don't know. At home, the soudent
-
does that lot. But to us it's like, but you're acting,
-
how you wear masks and dance, right, So of course
-
we I mean, I didn't know how how deep this was.
-
But we ran the play and we finished the play,
-
and then this mom came up to actually speak to
-
one of our teammates, and the mom said, thank you
-
so much, thank you so much for doing this. Then
-
we're like, why, what's the big deal? Thank you so much?
-
Because it's the first time in my life I see
-
my child on stage confidently dancing with no mass for
-
one hour and thirty minutes. And she was crying the
-
whole way because she will never have imagined her daughter
-
doing that. I just remember one more test moning last time,
-
I leave it to you. So we had team meeting
-
after that appreciation. Then we were sharing some of these
-
testimonies and one of the parents in our organization, I
-
want to say, hula shot up, wanted to share, couldn't
-
get a word out. Finally, after an awkward fifteen minutes
-
of sobbing, the person finally said, I'm so proud to
-
see my kids. And the kids were very young primary
-
on stage performing because when they were in kindergarten they
-
didn't want to do anything. But they were so confidently
-
on stage dancing and singing, and that to me was
-
very precious. And I was like, oh Lord, thank god
-
I didn't give up, Thank God I didn't give up.
-
How many of us here today, if you would have
-
not given up, no matter how difficult it was to
-
hold on your faith or to hold on the promises
-
that God has for you, if you would have not
-
given up the amount of fruit and frigance that will
-
come out of the sacrifice would have been great, not
-
just for you, you know, because we're win think about
-
ourselves now. I look at myself like, what was so selfish?
-
But yeah, it was suffering. But it came to a
-
point where I say, God is all worth it. Thank
-
you for letting me do this. All the six months
-
was worth it. And it kind of ignited another fire
-
in my heart. Because can we go back to the
-
first picture, because ex Church, right, since the year two
-
thousand and five, we've been very active producing plays on Christmas,
-
doing shows and shows and shows. And of course during
-
that time we were young, we had different people in charge.
-
You know. I was there from day one, you know,
-
and I was not. I didn't play a main role.
-
I was just producerney because I prefer to be second,
-
you know, I didn't play them in a role. But
-
unfortunately through the years. You know, drama. The thing about
-
drama is there's a lot of drama. It is it is,
-
and don't know why. The people in drama very drama also,
-
so let's just say a lot of drama, okay, and
-
the only surviving members very funny, we laugh about it.
-
Of the extreme Expressions. Team is me and Elie eleanor
-
truck and we're always say here, maybe we should do something.
-
That experience with VA caused me to dream again that God,
-
can you revive performing arts in our church because we
-
used to produce things like this that want to wats.
-
No friends not not local one, No, we actual pepatally
-
pay money come and watch. As I tell you, I
-
also can people pay money? Yeah, people actually pay money
-
to come and watch our shows. Good money pay can
-
watch our shows outside. But I guess the devil is
-
a no sla with every success because the thief comes
-
still can't destroy, right, So who benefits when there's drama?
-
Not the drama we intend, but the drama we don't intend,
-
The devil who benefits. So it has rented the dream
-
in my heart again to say, Lord, would you allow us?
-
Because I wonder how many more testimonies that will come
-
out of this, because to be honest, I'm not getting
-
any younger in my mom like O Killer. You know,
-
let the young people do it right. But God has
-
regnited my heart to say, Elbin, won't you dream again?
-
And again? I know it's not gonna be forever, you know,
-
hopefully we can build a team, get more younger people.
-
So anybody interesting me know, okay, participate, then maybe handing
-
over the next person because we need a legacy. But friends,
-
can I challenge this or challenge your thought today? Ex
-
chure us? Would you dream again for the Lord the
-
desires you have in your heart to serve him in
-
this church plan? Can X cheer us dream again? Talking
-
to the assistance busy because peasy not here? They know
-
you're head Apostolic. Okay, that's that's quite cool. The will
-
can combine, no, sir, But exter us, would you dream
-
again to be the lighthouse in this place? Who do
-
you or not? For some of you here? Would you
-
dream again to the desires that God has placed in
-
your heart? Who do you or not? Or has life
-
thrown you a curveball? Or has life beaten you down
-
all the way until you want to give up? Or
-
will you dream again? Not be your own strength? We
-
sang just now by God's will, and with God's strength
-
we can write. That's why we need to understand our faith,
-
because if we can understand that we are not doing
-
this alone, that the Holy Spirit is the one that
-
guides us, we can do great things for him. Amen.
-
And out of a difficult place, out of a stressful place,
-
out of a challenging place, God can cause it to
-
have sweet fragrance that glorifies Him. Amen.
