Our Sovereign God | Pr Gloria

You're listening to a message to go from acts church.

We hope this message will light up your.

Day, that it is a sovereign God. And that's what

I'm going to share with us today, right, And I

hope you're encouraged and that you'll find strength in him. Right,

so our sovereign God. When you when you hear the

word sovereign, what comes to your mind? All powerful? Any

other thoughts. It's not a common word we use in conversations, right,

but when we say sovereign, meaning someone is in control,

the one that's above every other thing, right, meaning, it

doesn't change, it's the same. That is what we mean sovereign.

So you can just give this title to anyone out there,

because can they actually be all powerful with all the

capabilities they have, but can they still overcome whatever circumst

census challenges that may come? Right, And so when we

look at this term sovereign, it means supreme authority and

the power of God over all nation. Yeah, that's the

meaning of this year. And we look at in the Bible,

of course, there's a lot of examples that we can

see God being sovereign right where he takes control over

the universe, history time after time, you matter what stories

you've read, even in the Old Testament, you'll see how

God's showing up, you know, in the midst of kings

and even the poor. No matter what groups of people,

there was always this point of time and you see

God showing up. And most of the time he shows

up not in a very fancy, glamorous way, but it's

usually even true the smallest way or the most least

expected person that he uses to show up, you know,

the ones that are not always the strong and mighty,

but he uses even the simplest, you know, and that

is to give him the glory, yeah, the sovereign one.

And so as we go into this message here, okay,

I'm just going to draw attention to Exodus chapter three,

Versus thirteen to fourteen, because to understand the sovereignty of God,

I mean, someone can just tell you, okay, he is powerful,

but you can never fully comprehend it if you don't

know him as a person. Right, And I'm not sure

how many of you are familiar that there's two hundred

over names of God. You know, if we draw from

the Bible, from the Old Testaments, in the New Testament books,

there are so many titles and names that we can

actually give to God to just show how Grady is

and the abilities that he has. Okay, so we're going

to be able to dive into three names today, but

before that, we're going to see Exodus chapter three versus thirteen. Yeah,

it says heer. Exodus chapter three Versus thirteen two fourteen.

Moses say to God, behold, I am going to the

sons of Israel, and I will say to them, the

God of your father's has sent me to you. Now

they may say to me, what is his name? What

shall I say to them? And God said to Moses,

I am who I am? And he said, thus you

shall say to the sons of Israel, I am as

send me to you.

Right I am.

It's a very simple tree alphabet term, right I am.

But that just shows how great and how sovereign God is.

But just saying that I am, people should know who

is it that's this powerful person and not everyone can

say that. If someone say who are you, imagine you're

turning to the other person who I am? Who I am?

You don't carey much to wait, no matter how how

great you are in whatever kep city. Right, But God

has all the authority to see that because he is

truly who is I am? Who I am? Yeah, so

we're gonna be unpacking a couple of names of God himself. Right,

And when we speak about names, Okay, I'm sure if

parents give you names, most of the time there's a

meaning to it. Be the Chinese names, Indian names, or

English names. You know, if you look at the meaning

behind it, I'm sure there's a deeper meaning to it. Right, joyful, prosperity,

you know, whatever it is. Right. I don't know if

they name people after prosperity, but you know, uh, that's

that's meaning to it. Because the more you call someone

that name, there's a that's you're declaring it. Right, Remember

the power of our words. The more you speak negative,

it's going to be negative. But if you the more

words of life that you speak, then there is truth

in it. Yeah. So imagine you keep calling your child

that that really good name that you've given them. You're

speaking life into that child.

Yeah.

Like our new partner in church, Adelia, our youngest son.

What's the meaning of Adelia? Is there a meaning.

Behind the name?

I thank God?

Right, because it's a gift.

She's a gift to the parents they've been praying, you know,

and God bless them, so a gift. So every time

we call Adelia, we are saying that she's a gift

of God. Right, She's a gift of God. So that's

the power of name. I hope you know the meaning

of your names. If you don't know, then it's good

to ask your parents or try to google it a little,

you know, because it carries so much weight. Yeah, and

so the same thing during the biblical times as well.

You know, every time our victory is worn or if

overcome certain challenges, they will actually give God the regard

by mentioning a certain name. Okay, what is Joey, Jiri,

Joey NISI right, So there are different names to acknowledge

his power and his authority. Yeah, and so when we

let's just read a scripture here, okay, to also show

you how this thing about names. Right, Sometimes you may

not know the person, but because you've heard of them

in such a way, you will acknowledge in that way. Right,

Let's look at Daniel chapter four. Some of you might

know this story, okay, about Daniel being among the people

who didn't believe God. Okay, they had their own idols

and all that. But yet this key acknowledged Daniel's God. Yeah,

so let's just read a couple of verses here Daniel,

Chapter four versus one on verds. Okay, are you there right? Okay,

let's read this. It is to all people's nations and

languages that dwell in all the earth. Peace be multiplied

to you. I thought it good to declare the signs

and wonders that the Most High God has worked for me.

How great are his signs, and how mighty is wonders?

His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is

from generation to generation. I Nebukaneza, was at rest in

my house and flourishing in my palace. I saw a

dream which made which made me afraid, and the thoughts

on my bit and the visions of my head troubled me.

Therefore I issued a decree to bring in all the

wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make

known to me the interpretation of the dream. Then the magicians,

the astrologers, the childians, the soothsayers came in, and I

told them the dream. But they did not make known

to me its interpretation. But at last was eight yeah.

But at last Daniel came.

Before me and I told the dream before him, saying,

belt Azer, chief of the magicians, because I know that

the spirit of the Holy God is in you, and

no secret troubles. You explain to me the vision of

my dream that I have seen and its interpretation.

Right, let's unpack this scripture here.

So if we have this king who true enough, he

has his idols, he's a king. People worship him, you know.

And during that time, so we see big the big

idols that were you know that people were told to

bow down and worship. And so he had his own

own faith, right, And then he had this troubling dream,

and he invited all the professionals out there who could interpret, magicians, astrologists,

but no one could interparate. And then he remembered this

guy Daniel. Yeah, and he seeks help to this guy,

saying that I know that you serve this God, the

spirit of God who is in you, and got him

to Okay, this is my last resort. Why don't you

help me? Now? There's something that we can learn from

this is that he did not have that faith for

himself yet. Okay, he did not believe yet, but he

saw something different in the life of Daniel. And because

Daniel time of the time, if you read the chapters

before that, he always took time to pray, you know

that were when when when there are troubles that were coming,

he made sure that he first went down to his

thees and prayed and made known to others. So others

actually saw it as well. So there was something about

Daniel and the God that he served that brought the

attention to this king. And that is why this king

to the point where he has lost all hope, he

sees that, Okay, this God that you call by name,

this God that you serve, can make a difference in

my life. Yeah, and that's why he calls it. So

that is the power of name that I'm trying to

get you all to understand.

Yeah, when we say names here, the.

Way we we regard or the way we acknowledge someone

or especially God, this context brings so much power because

it can change others who are in the unbelief who

may not see it yet, but because you acknowledge God

in such a way, you bring them to see or

help them to believe as well. Yeah, So the power

of names here, So the king recognized that the spirit

of God lives in Daniel, and Daniel knew who God

is in his life and God authority over his life.

And I believe that Daniel could leave up to it

because he knew who God is. Right, you know, when

we learn this book, especially Daniel, he lived in a

time where it would have been so just easy for

him to just leave the faith because the majority during

the time believed in a different faith. They adored the King,

they adored Idyls right, and so it would have been

even harder for him to hold on to his feet

in the times of challenges, in time of struggles, right

to believe, lose all hope. But time of the time

he went back to God. And that is why he

was known as Daniel as the one that the Spirit

of God leaves in you. Yeah, he carried that testimony. Yeah,

And it's to ask myself this question, how many of

us can actually do that in the midst of the

majority unbelieving majority, can we still stand upright and proclaiming

the name of God? And that is exactly what Daniel

did because he knew God's authority over his life.

Ye.

So knowing about someone deeper builds a greater assurance. So

if I can tell you today that God is sovereign,

it only brings weight if you know God and who

is truly for yourself right, if you have tasted and

see that the Lord is good, if you have experienced

this goodness, if you've heard Nick's testimony just now, he

can see with all is mine that my God is

my provider because you've experienced it. He trusted and then

he saw it came to pass. If you have experienced

God's healing in your body, you prayed so long and

you saw God healing you and bring that breakthrough, you

can confidently say that my God is a healer.

Yeah.

So it works that way. There's no rocket science to

having a deeper trust with God. It's simple knowing. The

more you know, the more you build your trust. Yeah.

So as we go through this again, I'm just gonna

introduce to you three names. Three names of God. There's

so many other names that we can unpack, but I

just hope that these three names of God will bring

a sense of hope, a sense of peace as well. Okay,

especially like I said in this season, that we are

in to rise up as children of God yet and

to hold on to these names of who God is.

Can we do that? Amen?

Right? Sometimes to be awake good to respond. Yeah, So

when you respond, you're taking in the word into you

as well. Okay, So the first name that we're going

to learn here is called elo him, right, elo him? Now,

elo him means he is your creator, and it's actually

came from an Hebrew root l okay, which means mighty

or strong. Right, So what we're referring here is God's

power and his might, you know, and and you know

this is something we often hear. We've been in the

church long enough, you know that, Oh, God is the

creator of the heavens and the earth. Yeah, but how

often do we actually pause and think about how much

you weight that can is? Because this planet Earth that

we are living in, he is created by him. The

person next to you, was seated right next to you,

is created by him. You were created by him. And

that's the thing about human nature. Sometimes we tend to

forget the simplest and we look for the most complicated

ones to make sense of it.

All right.

I remember reading this from a devotion recently from a book,

and he talked about how you know Jesus he had

three years on earth for his mission right to save

the laws and the prepared disciples.

And in the midst of all that things.

That he did right, he still could find time to

do life. He could still find time to markind with

his disciples.

He could rest.

He took time to actually go down to the we

go up to the mountains and pray. Right, he took

time for rest in God. But sometimes us we have

one hundred and one things on our plates and we

tend to forget what is important or to rest in God.

If Jesus himself knew the urgency and the things that

he had to do before he left Earth could find

time for that.

What more is right? What more is?

And sometimes when we forget to acknowledge the simplest in

life is when we find hard to handle the tougher

things in life. Right, It is always back to basics,

you know, when someone says, so I'm going through like

what Elen was spraying this Now, as parents, you may

not have modules and theories on how to be a parent,

but that's why God gives us the Bible right wisdom,

you know, prayer, These are basics that we need to

go back to. So when we see God as a

sovereign God. What does that mean to you? Acknowledging that

he is the creator, the creator of the heavens and

the earth. Yeah, scientists and people and out there sometimes

try to build so many other belief systems, so many

other understandings, but all seem to be complicated, you know.

But if you just go back to the root of everything.

Else, this is who God is, right, And like there

are scriptures who tell us in the Bible that he

knows our tomorrow, he knows the days to come. But

when we get so soaked into certain problems that comes

around us or even environment, we tend to get so

drowned on that. Yeah, as humans, that's what it is,

emotions and feelings, right, But it's always good to step out,

to pause and say, at the end of the day,

God created me, shouldn't he know better? I mean, in

terms of my future, I'm sure he is figured it

out for me, right, And that is why time after

time the Scripture has given us so many scriptures about

do not worry. Very simple thing to say to someone else,

But I know it's not the easiest. Yeah, but yet

he wants us to trust in him. So how do

we do that is to go back to who God is.

Why do I need to trust him? Why do I

need not to worry? Because he is my creator? If

he created me, I'm sure he knows best. Yeah, And

I know, as I'm saying this, some of you may

be going through situations in life and you were saying

it sounds so simple. Are you just simplifying my problems?

But what we're trying to do here is to get

back to basics, right that if you see God as

your creator, the one who's in control, it helps us

ease a situation or life a little bit more easier. Right,

getting back to basics. Genesis one one. We all know

the scripture in the beginning, God created the heavens and

the earth. And sometimes when we forget and we don't

know where to get started, go back to the book

of Genesis and just read that again and you'll be

reminded that all that we have today is created by

him and he makes no mistakes. Yeah, Genesis one twenty seven.

So God created man in his image, in the image

of God. He created him male and female, He created them.

Do you know that He created you in his image?

So how precious you are? Then, You're never a mistake,

You're never a delay, no matter sometimes things may look

like a delay. You'll be praying for so long. But

it says he created you in his image.

I don't know.

If you don't see any weight in this scripture, then

I pray that God will remind you with his love right,

that his image means like him right, that means all

that he is. You know he wants the best for you.

That is who our God is. Yeah, you're being created

in his image. Psalm one hundred and thirty nine, verses thirteen.

It says, for you formed my inward parts, you covered

me in my mother's womb. I will praise you for

I'm fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are your works, and

that my soul knows very well. My frame was not

hidden from you when I was made in secret and

skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your

eyes saw my substance being yet unformed. And in your

book they all were written the day's fashion for me,

when as yet there were none of them. Amen, how

powerful this scripture is. I'm fearfully and wonderfully made. Yeah,

But when we are sometimes distracted with people around or comparison.

Then we wonder like why am I like this?

You know? Am I doing the right thing? Right?

We have so many questions like this, But again, when

we go back to the one that remains, you know,

they would have go. God should always be when we

say firm foundation, when they say the rock, meaning this

is the one that should always bring you back. So

if you feel like you are not aligned, like how

you need to align your car right, when you need

to just edge, just certain things so that you can

be on the right track, the word of God should

be that for you. So when our minds take us places,

when we are distracted and all that, okay, come, let

me go back to the word of God. God's what

tells me that I'm created in easy image. I'm fearfully

and wonderfully made, so I'm not a mistake. No matter

what men say, I want to listen to what God says.

So let the.

Word of God be that measurement, be the one that

brings you back.

And nothing can change that.

No social media posts, no words of men, no success

or failures. Those things should never be your measurement. Your

measurement will always be the Word of God. Amen, And

I want to emphasize this because it's so important in

the time and age that we're living in when there's

so many amounts of comparisons, so many amount of distractions.

And that's why it's even a challenge for parents these days,

because now we're comparing right, what is best to be done?

People have so many voices to tell you what to

do and what not to do right as young adults,

Where should you invest, where should you work? What success

looks like students? All these voices are there, right, but

can we first listen to the voice of the world

of God to be the basis right, and then everything

else comes so that you're not shaken. Yesterday we had

our assault. Our leaders meet up on Saturdays. We meet

once a month, okay, and I was just sharing with

them about how, you know, what we caught. We usually

meet with Pastor every twice a year past the can

and he shares the vision for the church and all.

So you're just reminding us from the Book of Luke,

you know that, as if you're taking down notes.

Okay.

This can be found in Luke chapter seven, verse twenty

to twenty eight, right when Jesus reminds us that as

we are in this society when we're living, right, what

are we looking for or how do we respond to

things around us?

So it gives three examples. Yeah, yeah.

One is the reach shaken by the wind. This is

in verse twenty four Luke seven twenty four. That just

means you're a lalang. You'll know alalang is right, meaning

it can wea were here and there. So if the

win comes here, okay, I go here. If win is here, okay,

I go here. So if there are problems around, okay, okay,

I feel so down. If it thinks okay, then I'm okay.

Yeah.

So are you that that you're shaken by the circumstances around?

Are you a man clothed in soft gum? And this

is in verse twenty five where it talks about, you know,

where we're looking for the glamor and what success looks

like in the eyes of men. Yeah, are we looking

for those things? Or are we looking to be a

prophet more than a prophet? Meaning being the prophet's side one.

So this example of scripture here is taken from the

context of John the Baptist himself. You know when if

you know this story, when he came he prepared the

way before John the Baptist. You know, the people were

actually waiting for the Messiah. There was a two hundred

year gap in between after Jesus went up, Yeah, when

he ascended to heaven, they were all waiting for the Messiah.

So you can imagine the eagerness that they were having,

right or Messiah is coming. And that is why we

have the Jews who have their own teaching because of

this gap. Yeah, right, And so because of that, when

they saw John the Baptist, they were having questions, are

you the Messiah?

Right? And yet John.

Could actually leave up his calling because of the very

nature of who he is. So you're just having a

conversation yesterday and then you know, you're asking, like, hey,

what kind of a person would John the Baptist be like?

And Eleen, he said, Oh, you must be a cool guy,

because to come and to come with full authority of

his calling and at the same time acknowledging who God is.

I'm sure there people will be wondering, who's this ordinary guy?

Who are you to baptize?

You know, you're a normal man, right, But he still

did it with so much of humbleness and clarity because

he knew the word of God and he knew the

God's calling in his life. Yeah. So that was a

study that we were just doing yesterday just to share

with You can read it in your own time, Yeah,

Luke seven twenty. But what are we looking for? Getting

back to that, right, what are we looking for? And

I pray that we wouldn't become a generation or a

society that just goes with the flow. It's okay to

go with the flow, as in, you're not too stressed

about things. But what should be firm is your identity, right,

what should be firm is our values, It's our belief systems.

So if someone is going to ask you today, what

do you believe in that cannot be changed? What would

that be? How would you answer that? Is it your faith?

Is it the principles that you've heard learned from the

word of God? Some of us could be you know,

how you serve him is you know it's about how

you give or how you make sure that no matter what,

I have my devotion every other day. Yeah, so it

can be different for all of us. But what are

those things that no matter what happens in my life,

whether I'm young or old, this will not change.

What would that be for you? Yeah?

Because that is what keeps you going even when the

storm hits, Right, even when you hear the worst thing

of all, you have that peace with you. Yeah. First

Corinthians eight sixties says, Yet for us there is one God,

the Father of whom are all things, and we for him,

and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things.

And through whom we leave. Amen.

So, now, knowing that God is our creator, he's powerful,

he's living, Right, how does it change the way you

look at yourself and you're surrounding Because with truth, it

changes our perspective.

Right?

When you know something, when you've learned something, it changes

the way you respond. Then you think so right, because

you know something new, you're like, oh okay, wow, this

is good to know.

It changes your.

Decisions that you make as well. Right, And that is

why they say you not stop learning, no matter how

young or old you are, do not stop learning.

Right. Sometimes you know you thing, or you're.

Too already enough of school, But learning never stops because

there's always something new to learn. Enough, beat in our faith,

beat in life, because the moment we become a generation

that stops learning, that's it. Whatever I say is correct. Right,

You've got to always have that eagerness to learn in

whatever capacity God has positioned you to be. Beat a parent,

a young person, keep learning, keep asking questions, keep exploring,

keep getting deeper in the Word of God. Right, no

matter how many years for myself being in the faith

and preaching the Word. Every time I go into the Word,

there's just so many things that you don't know, and

God reveals it to you. And that's why you need

that openness right to know more of it. So, knowing

this truth, how does it change? Or if you think

about your circumstance now and now that you know that

God is the creator, He's in control, does it bring.

You some ease?

Does it bring you some comfort knowing that in the

midst of the tribulations I can still be rest assured.

I may not have all the answers yet, but God

has the answers, so I can trust this God who

knows it all. Yeah. So that's the first one creator.

Okay elo him Amen. So you can just figure a

new word today, Hebrew okay elo him. Now the second

word our, the second name of God is el Roy.

Okay el roy. What it means here is the God

who sees, Yeah, the God who sees. Now. The tricky

thing about our faith sometimes is that because we don't

see God as a person, and if you don't have

that faith or that trust, it's hard to sometimes see

that God is working. And I get that, I understand

that as a human. Yeah, because circumstances looks bigger. We

can see a person, we can see situations, but it's

hard to see God. And that is when it takes

that trust, and that takes faith, right because faith comes

without seeing it yet, but yet you still trust, right.

So going back to this word el Roy, this was

actually first revealed to Haga.

You'll know who I got?

What?

Who is she?

Egyptian maid who's made Sarah? Yes, okay, So as we

know Sarah and Abraham, they were waiting for a child

for a very long time. And this Sarah was trying

to be smart, okay, was trying to I mean, God

promised that you'll get a child, but she was in

an old age and she was thinking, oh, it's impossible,

and so she was trying to do her own thing,

trying to help God, and she got her maid to

be pregnant with a child. Okay, later on Sarah got

a child as well. So what happened when that happened,

Sarah got upset, and she she sent a maid away. Okay,

And so if you I mean the emphasis of the story,

and you always read it's always about Sarah and Abraham, right,

but Haga can imagine a mother with a child and

being a maid. You can understand the circumstances that she

would have been. And she was left to the wilderness

all by herself. How would that felt right? Being in

her shoes? And so that is when Sarah acknowledged. Okay,

we can see this in Genesis sixteen thirteen. Then she

called the name of the Lord who spoke to her.

You are the God who sees, what she said, Have

I also here seen him who sees me? So this

term you are the God who sees If you look

at Hebrew, it means elroy, the god who sees, So

meaning God met her where she was in the wilderness,

all their mother by a bit of infant right, not

having anything with her, and yet God saw her so

in the eyes of men. Right, it may look like

a mistake, or Sarah did a mistake. She went her

own way, and God had made pregnant, had a child. Right,

it seems to be something that is out of the plane.

But yet God saw that because you know what in

the eyes of God, heguy is that it is her

is his daughter as well, right, the child that was

given his gift. Yeah, and God met her where she is,

where she was, friendless, homeless, pregnant, being in the wilderness.

Yet God gathered that comfort that he sees her. Yeah,

he sees her. Well. King David also knew that God

as Elroy when we see in some one hundred thirty nine,

as we read just now, right, the God who sees me,

the God who knows whether I'm in the grave or

when I am the heavens, when I leave home, when

I rest at home, he's with me. If you have

the time, read the whole chapter Salm on hundred to deny.

It brings a lot of ease and comfort into your hearts.

Yeah. The God who sees.

He doesn't only see us, but he sees everyone, Okay,

which is preordained and written in his book. When you

read some hundred now you'll see that it's mentioned about

how you know he knows in fact when he created

us is written all of it in his book. So

we are hear figuring out what's the next twenty days

twenty years is going to look like, or the next

ten days even but in his book he has already

written it down. Yeah. That is how intentional our God

is when he created you in you Okay, Nick, chapter

this chapter for Nick, I know what's his story? Fun, Eugene, Yeah,

he knows each one of you. Turn to the person

next to you and tell them God knows you.

He sees you. Yeah, he sees you.

So I want to encourage you with this name of

God because you know there is something. There's the because

we are physical beings, right, the first thing we see

or we like to to see things to believe visual, right,

And this is like the hardest sometimes to see God here.

But the more you journey with him, the more you

build trust, the more you'll know that. Okay, Lord, I'm

going through this, but I know that you're still here

with me. You are working in ways I cannot see, right.

You are moving mountains, you're opening doors, and when the

time comes, I will be able to see it for myself.

Right.

And as we know, if you've been walking with God,

you know you'll see that most of the time. He's

not so concerned of of course the need he brings

it to pass in his timing, in his will, but

oftentimes about how we respond in that situation, all right,

in that waiting, when you're waiting for God to move,

you know, like what Nick schaid, going back to next example,

he didn't stop sharing. He could have said, oh, I

just can't seem to share for service at homes because

I've not seen my testimony yet, I can't see it.

But what got him to keep sharing was because he

knew that the fact of who God is doesn't change.

He still sees and I've got to acknowledge and praise him.

Yeah.

So let's not make our faith, okay, our trust in

God be waivered just because of situations.

Yeah.

So when good times, I'm going to trust God. Bad times,

maybe I take a pause. In fact, during the bad

times is when you've got to trust God even more.

Yeah.

So, let's not be a seasonal Christians. Okay, you've got

to be all the time. Really, whether it's winter we

don't have winter year, okay, or whether it's summer or spring,

whatever season that may come your way, keep trusting the

lot because he sees he is present in our lives. Amen,

And the same thing is with our situation in our

nation at this point as well. God sees right and

it's it's it's These are tough questions to ask. I'm

not sure if you've had conversations like that with friends

around you and know, well, if your God is so good,

why why these things happen? You know, all these kind

of conversations we may have. And then is when our

faith is tested even more. How do we just sit

and listen and yeah, you know, I agree? Or can

we still speak life in those kind of conversations? Can

we speak life in those situations? Yeah? As we we

you know, we we empathize and feel, you know, with

all that's going on, let's not stop praying. Yeah, because

we've got to be the ones who needs to rebuild

our our country, our society, our generation. If we don't

do something, we all play a part. Yeah, just because

you're not a parent or a teacher doesn't mean you

don't play a part. Right, We all play a part

to the rebuilding of our country, you know, And so

let's keep plowing the land. Let's keep doing with what

we can in whatever capacity you can. If you have

an opportunity to encourage a young person. Do that, Okay,

you know, if you have an opportunity to pray for them,

then why not. Or to spend some time with a

parent do that. In the outside, sometimes we look at

a person or they have all figured it out. But

it's only when you spend time with someone you will

know that, Hey, this person needs encouragement. This person needs

a bit of your time to listen, to care for,

to love them. Yeah, so let's keep reaching out beyond

our schedules, beyond our to do this. Let's also spare

some time for artists as well, right, can we do that? Yeah?

So that is the second the second name here el Roy.

So you got two Hebrew words, now you know. Now

the third one is what we call jeovah nissi. Okay,

jeova nissy. It just means the Lord is my banner.

I know when we use the word banner, we think

about just banner and sign bots. Right, but let's look

at contexts. Yeah, what it means. It came from the

Hebrew word niece, which means banner or standard. Okay, having

a form of standard. So in Exodus seventeen fifteen, when

if you read it you'll see that Moses built an

altar for God, okay, and he actually called it the

Lord is my banner, right, the Lord is my banner.

So what it means here when you say banner, it

means God's protection and guidance over his people. And Moses

used this name after the victory with Israel and the Amalakites.

You can read that in Exodus seventh teen and how

God led them to defend the spiritual battle. Yeah, and

so that is when he put up this whole altar,

and he said, okay, God's protection and guidance is with us,

so that it will be a reminder for the people.

At that point, you know who delivered us. It was God,

and his protection is over our lives. Yeah. So at

that time banners were not something foreign. It's a very

usual thing, you know, to do. And in fact, it

was like to keep up to a standard. So if

I'm putting up this banner or this altar, it means

I acknowledge. So if you read the Old Testament, time

of the time, different ones who always build an altar.

They've been a victory, they build an altar, you know.

And I heard when if you go back to Israel,

and in these places even now two of some of

these places are still there in existence, to just remind

the people of these different stories and the success that

God brought these people through. Yeah, So these were remind

us for the people.

Yeah.

So it means the Lord will fight for us, the

battle is easy, and that he is a god of deliverance. Yeah,

that is who he is. So again, when we go

through different circumstances, when you go through different situations, let's

acknowledge this god, Jehovah Nisi. Yeah, Jehovah Nisi. It means

he watches over you and covers and protects you. When

we sang the worship song just now, there's a portion

where he says, the blood of God is on our

door right frame, our door frame. What that just means

is it's it's very biblical.

Okay.

At that time, when you know they wanted to shield

the protection over the houses of the Hebrews, especially when

the king brought an order, they actually put the blood

of the Lamb. Again, that is a sign that this

is the house of God. Okay, And true enough, death

did not come into these homes. Yeah, and so for

every household, do that for your homes. Do that for

your families. Pray for your kids when they go out

to their schools, or any of us. If you need

to believe our homes, plead the blood of Jesus over

our lives. Plead the blood of Jesus over our house,

our homes. Yeah, because then we are saying God, you

are in control of our home. In fact, when we

do that, we're acknowledging that He is supreme, he is

in control, and his heads of protection is upon us.

Yeah.

So, as believers, yes, we hold on to this hope,

the victory and all that. At the same time, we

shouldn't also be ignorant because remember we are living in

a fallen world. Okay, a world where there are principalities,

there are spiritual forces that are out of our control. Yeah,

what can control is God. And so as believers we

need to be watchful. Don't get too comfortable. Okay, sometimes

you can be we can get over spiritual, you know,

and say yes, my God is there, and yes he

is there. But he wants you to also be watchful

in prayer. Yeah, he wants you to declare his word

to keep being mindful wherever you go. That is why

we are called to have the discerning spirit, right, so

that in times when you don't know what to do

or what's happening, the Holy Spirit will prompt you and say, hey,

why don't you pray before you go in, you know,

or just be a little bit more watchful when you

speak to this person.

Yeah, always be careful.

Not in fear, yeah, because God has not given us

a spirit of fear, but in faith, right, in faith.

And that is why I say we shouldn't be seasonal Christians,

or we shouldn't just have a time only that we

are discerning or sensitive.

We've got to be watchful all the.

Time because you never know when the example, the Bible says, right,

you never know when the wolf comes in.

We've got to always be watchful. Right. There's an urgency.

As I was preparing this message, I just felt God's

prompting to remind us who has the authority over our lives? Yeah,

not the world, not the problems. God has full authority

over our lives. And we have to declare that over

our families, over our households, over ourselves, and to always

be watchful. Okay, that's very important. Yeah, So does he

have full authority over your life? And you know, could

you also be that influence to others?

Yeah?

When others see you, do they see the living God

in you and that you serve a God who is

able to do all things right if any time at all.

I feel this at the time that believers have to

rise up when people are looking for answers, Why don't

you bring those answers and say that, hey, I know

someone who can help.

Yeah.

If you actually turn around the people and have conversations,

you realize that a lot of confused people because I

deal with a lot of people beat the young or teachers, right,

I mean, yes, we're all good in what we do

in terms of expertise and you know, the workplace or

whatever it is. But then still there it's always this

question mark, like sue, what's going to happen to our world?

Look at all that's happening.

Right.

I have cousins who are parents and they all like

figuring out, hey, should we think of going to another country?

You know that that uncertainty is there. Yeah, and this

is when we need to rise up, not to be ignorant,

but to speak life. Okay, that in the midst of everything,

who is sovereign? God is sovereign. He's not going to

leave us like this. Yeah, he's not going to just say, okay,

you all deal with it. That he sent this one

and only son for us. He went all the way

for a reason, for such a time as this. Yeah,

we've got to rise up. Let's be believers who are watchful,

who can listen to the voice of God. Okay, in

the midst of all the noises, can you make the

difference between what God is saying and what the world

is telling us?

Yeah?

If we can't find tune with that, I encourage you

to do that. Build your altar before him, sit in

his presence, and say God, I want to hear your voice.

I want to be able to to get the direct

message from you. I can listen to a speaker on Sunday,

I can, you know, listen to a devotion. All those

things are good, but you've got to hear God for yourself.

That is the priority. Yeah, and very important. I can't

emphasize this anymore because in my own personal life I

have experienced it as well. You know. You can.

You can.

You can speak to a lot of people, you can

find comfort, you can find strength, you know, But the

only one that gives you the answers that you're looking

for or the confidence. It comes directly from him, the

main sauce, Yeah, the main sauce. So can we be

that generation? Turn to the person next to you. Can

you be that person who listens to the voice of God? Yeah?

Listening to the voice of God. Yeah.

And I just want to leave you with these scriptures

here as we spend some time praying. You know, His

peace is with us, no matter what circumstances, it is,

all right. And I was having these very interesting conversation

in one of one of the recent trainers that I

was working with. You know, he's from a majority of faith,

but interesting enough, he was talking about peace all right,

and he was bringing the example of it in the

Arabic language and the Hebrew language, or even in Malay

or English.

Peace.

Peace is offered to us no matter what the circumstances

is right. And of course he was bringing his faith in.

But as believe us, we know what the truth is,

we know who the Savior is, and even more, we

should be convinced that his peace is for all of us.

That means you can go through the.

Sales and the winds and all that, but the peace

of God will never shouldn't be taken away from you.

Right.

If you feel the otherwise, then that.

Is not from God. Yeah.

Just reading a scripture here a few scriptures. You can

hold on to it and even meditate. It says in

John sixteen thirty three. I have said these things to

you that in me you may have peace. In the

world you will have tribulation. But take heart high. Overcame

the world, and Jesus told this the Book of John. Yeah,

and true enough we see tribulations, but he has overcame

the world. So you've got to be fully convinced and

to be trusting this truth that God has overcame all

of this. He has given me his peace. Second Thessalonians

three sixteen. Now may the Lord of Peace himself give

you peace at all times in every way. The Lord

be with you all. That's another name of God. In fact, peace,

he is peace. He's not only giving you peace, but

he is who he is. Hold on to him. John

fourteen twenty seven.

Peace.

I leave with you my peace. I give to you,

not as the world gives.

Do I give to you.

Let not your hearts be trouble, neither let them be afraid.

Men and collisions three fifteen. And let the peace of

Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were

called in one body, and be thankful.

Amen.

why don't you do that so that when you're feeling

troubled you can always go back to this scripture. Yeah,

I can invite extreme forward. So I just want to

leave you with this message, this simple message, but just

reminding all of us here of who God is.

Yeah.

And before I even preach this message, I found strength

and hope through this As I was preparing as well.

You know, God ministered to me first, you know, to

speak life over every situation, to acknowledge His peace, that

He is sovereign and in control.

Yeah.
