You're listening to a message to go from acts church.
-
We hope this message will light up your tea.
-
The title of my message has got a refuge, strength
-
a very present help in trouble. Amen?
-
Can we agree with it?
-
Our refuge at our strength, a very present help in trouble.
-
You and I know it. Sometimes you and I pray
-
about it, proclaim the scripture on it. Right? The question
-
is is that do we know how He works? Ah,
-
in our trouble times? Do we know how He works?
-
There's one thing about knowing that God is a refuge
-
this statement and strength a very present help in trouble.
-
But the other thing is that do we know how
-
He works?
-
Now?
-
Do we understand the way he moves?
-
Because when we talk about refuge and strength, whenever we
-
need help, we we expect immediately. Right, So therefore delay
-
he's not really helping. Therefore, if you need strength, for example, right,
-
if you need strength, Benny knows whereabout if this strang
-
you have to you have to exercise to get strength? Yeah,
-
I to you, Benny, I know, and I know, I know,
-
I know. You got little mouse up your bicep. It
-
used to be a cat, but now it's a mouse
-
really anyway, So you need to work.
-
Out to get strength.
-
You need to work out to get strength, right, but
-
very seldom, very seldom, very seldom that you know, you
-
people get strength from hitting something else, if you know
-
what I mean. People always you see people who work out,
-
what is it?
-
Protein? Is that correct, Benny? Protein?
-
Right? You'll see people taking protein to build master, right?
-
Not very seldom people take cops to build master. I'm
-
trying to say, is that? So therefore, where you think
-
about God's out strength, there is a mental imagion. Really
-
we could think of how you that he should operate
-
to get for us to get an answer.
-
And I want to show you from scripture afterwards, the.
-
Way God moves and the way God delivered and the
-
way God come true for us could be very different,
-
very different for what you and I.
-
Expect him to move.
-
All right, So if you have your Bible, which you
-
turn to First King chapter nineteen, verse one to five
-
or eather one to nine by one to five, First
-
First King chapter nineteen verse one to five on this screen,
-
story about Elijah, Ahab and Jezebel wait. When Ahab got home,
-
he told Jezebel everything Elijah had done, including the way
-
he killed all the prophets about So Jezebel, send this
-
message to Elijah. Send the messager, May God strike me
-
and even kill me. Wow, if by this time tomorrow
-
I have not killed you just as you have killed them, Franks,
-
this was a treat from Jezebel, A treat from Jezebel.
-
Right, I want, I want to hear this word again.
-
May God strike me and even kill me by this
-
time tomorrow, have I I have not killed you just
-
as you've killed them. So basically, Jezebel said, I'm going.
-
I'm coming for your life. I'm coming to get revenge.
-
I'm coming after you. Worse three, Elijah was afraid and
-
fled for his life. He went from Bersheba, a town
-
in Judah, and left his servant there. Verse four. He
-
went alone into the wilderness, traveling all day looking for protection,
-
looking to run away from Jessebel. He sat down under
-
a solitary boomb tree pray that he might die. It
-
was how sometimes in life, friends, even before anything could
-
happen to you, I before anything could touch you, I
-
sometimes words go even further and deeper into.
-
Your heart than anything else. You know what I mean?
-
Sometimes words can go further and deeper than anything else,
-
even before.
-
You are physically harmed.
-
That's why sometimes when I talk to people, I say, hey,
-
when was your last medical check? And the statement that
-
always come back to me is that I don't feel
-
like going. I see why, don't like skeler scared scared
-
of the result, through the scared of the result.
-
I see, you haven't even went for the test.
-
This was it to be a frail of I scared
-
about the result maybe later. So by going later, he
-
thought that the result would change. Sometimes that's something. Because
-
you go it to go later, we think the result
-
can change. But friends, you and I know that result
-
doesn't change me because we delay the test without changing,
-
because we change the way we eat.
-
Without don't change.
-
Because there's a delay doesn't mean that we don't tackle
-
the problem under our bit. You know what's the greatest
-
problem under ourbit? Does have you ever wonder? Way that
-
does come from?
-
Huh?
-
From what? From our skin? But ever wonder how come
-
our skin produce so much? Become a football?
-
I don't.
-
I don't think you shed so much. I don't think
-
you shed so much. You're not peeling off your skin here,
-
But huh, unless you've got the cat, unless your house
-
is super dusty by the highway.
-
But you understand what I'm trying to say.
-
Friends, just because we don't deal with it doesn't mean
-
it's not there. Just because we stept it one time,
-
I thought it would be clean forever. Do Jesus come back,
-
but only to discover one week after that there is
-
a power that comes up developed under obey now verse five.
-
Then I laid down this Elijah laying down and slept
-
under the moon tree, and he was sleeping. He really
-
wanted to die because no more strength. The angel touched
-
him and told him get up and eat verse six.
-
He looked around there besides his head there was some
-
break big on hot store and a jar of water.
-
He ate and drank and lay down again. Verse seven.
-
The Angel of the Lord came again touch him and say,
-
get up, eat some more, for all the journey here
-
will be too much for you.
-
So he got up it and drank.
-
The food gave him enough strength to travel forty days
-
and forty nine come on. The food that the angel
-
asked him to eat gave him sufficient strength for forty
-
days and forty nights, all to mount Sign and the
-
amount of God there. He came to a cave, we
-
spent the night there. So Elijah's name means Yahweh is God.
-
So he's reminded every time people call his name, He's
-
been reminded that Yahweh is God. And the majority of
-
us here know and understand that Yahweh is God. The
-
Lord is our God. We know that, but how many
-
of us truly understand are fully comprehend that it is
-
not just so much the name that we know, friends,
-
but understanding that in our deepest moment is he still none?
-
In our deepest challenges? Is he still Lord? In our hearts? Cry? Friends?
-
Is he still Lord?
-
Something is beyond our control.
-
For example, this situation with Jezebel is beyond Elijah's control.
-
Yet when people call him Elijah, Elijah, Yahweh then means
-
Yahweh is God. So if Yahweh is God, then why
-
should Elijah be afraid? So God is trying to help
-
elight you to understand, to bring him deeper into relationship
-
with him that even though Jezebel is creen, he does
-
not need to be afraid. Sometimes in our life, friends,
-
the anticipation of the result frightens is even more. The
-
consequences of the decision frightened us more, and you and
-
I today need to be set free from then. Amen,
-
So I let me explain what Elijah's experience in First
-
King chapter seventeen, France. Do you have to listen to
-
it at this somewhay. So Elijah drank from the brooks.
-
God led him to the brooks, and the raven fed
-
him supernatural provision. In other word's Elijah experience in First
-
King chapter seventeen, he was he was given a supernatural
-
experience whereby the Wider honored him with the last of
-
oil and flower, and she experienced supernatural provision of the oil.
-
Flood did not run out.
-
So with his own eyes Elijah saw God came through
-
got provided. Friends, if true of us experienced what Elijah experience,
-
that was off, confirm our faith in God? Sometimes, isn't it?
-
Because you saw with your own eyes you only got
-
SoLIT term But the moment he baked it cannot run,
-
cannot run oil flower?
-
What amazing thing it is? Friends?
-
Not only that, friends, the widow Sun died, the widow
-
Sun that Elijah resurrected the sun, So supernatural provision, supernatural life. Friends,
-
If you, if you were the witness, if you were
-
the one who saw this miraculous thing happened, wouldn't use
-
to say God, you know jessebel and say whatever she wants,
-
nothing I shake my favor, nothing, I robbed my favor nothing.
-
And that can frighten me. Whyever she says, my foundation
-
is still firm. Friends, Elijah did not just just experience that.
-
In first case, chapter eighteen, there was a weak tree
-
and Mom Camel, his conviction was very evident. The Elighten's
-
conviction was very evident. And you know this statement, choose
-
you this day who you serve? You can't see this
-
statement unless you're truly convinced. It's not like you're asking
-
your child, choose you this day who you're like, mom
-
or dad. You're so convinced that God is God that
-
you tell people that choose you this day who you serve.
-
And Elijah was convinced that at that moment in time,
-
Elia was convinced that God is God. Amen. Then he
-
experienced God's confirmation to the fire that fell from the
-
author that he built.
-
It was a fire that fell from heaven.
-
First, there was a supernatural provision. There was a resurrection
-
come on fire falling from heaven, fire falling for heaven.
-
I think none of us ever saw there in our eyes.
-
But if we did see, really, you know, physical eyes, friends,
-
I think you'll be like, man, this is this God
-
is real. Courage to execute profits of bao, courage to
-
execute profits of boo. You know, I had a message once,
-
I say that how far will we follow God? How
-
far will we follow? The Lord saw King Saul was
-
having a better way than Amalekites. And this is what
-
Jesus said, do not spare, but kill everyone from the Amalekites.
-
Don't spare. And you know Saul tries his very best
-
to follow, but he sped. King, the king of Amalekites,
-
the best ship Oxen and lemb And sometimes in our
-
journey of life, friends, everything is okay until you see
-
something even more valuable in our own eyes. So it's
-
not easy for us to take someone's life in the Bible. Friends,
-
But the courage that Elijah had some of us here, friends,
-
don't say about killing someone flying crockachias. Flying cockatias. Come on,
-
we would run from flying cockachis. Right now, we were
-
running from this like three cm insect that is smaller
-
than our tomb. Sometimes right, we will be afraid. But
-
sometimes friends, you know the thing, it's not good in
-
our house, but yet we spare them. How much more, Elijah,
-
and faced with profer about Undergod's commandment, you're supposed to
-
because there was a deal that would you know? I
-
got a friend who's a bodybuilder, really big size, afraid
-
of cockachies. Seriously, his big size. The friends, he's really big,
-
bulky and big. But every time we see her crockoach threads.
-
Excuse the phrase, but he screamed like a girl. I'm sorry,
-
his big size scream like you read high shrew voice,
-
and he stands on the chair. Someone killed a cock
-
cooash please in others, threads, you could we could be
-
courageous threads on everything else, on everything else God wants
-
us to do, except for the very thing that he
-
wants us to do. We could be courageous friends on
-
everything else except for the thing he really wants us
-
to do. Now, Elijah, friends, exception, you know this, His
-
life was very consistent. No exception. Prefers a bow, He'll
-
take it. So my wife don't like lizards. My wife
-
doesn't like lizards. Friends, so she has a newspaper weapon
-
that she prepared for the lizard one so Evan, ever,
-
there's lizard, friends, she would wet the lizard. The thing
-
is not the problems never will be the killing of
-
the lizard, friends, The problem is is clearing and cleaning up.
-
After that, She would bury the lizard at least with
-
about six sheets of tissue paper because she doesn't want
-
to feel the body. One time she screamed and mesid,
-
there's a lizard because her weapon wasn't beside her.
-
I turned around, friends, I really turned around. I told
-
where was it?
-
Until I realized I stepped on the lizard with my
-
bare feet.
-
That She said, how could you say?
-
God, Lisa? I just turned around? How do I know
-
that Lisa want to be there to be stepped on? Right?
-
Clean it up? She saw everything bleat out from the body,
-
and she said, clean it up. I came for you
-
that you cleaned up. Blah, cannot very squamish, sorry to
-
grocer in the morning. But courage, friends, So want you
-
know supernatural courage doesn't I'm not talking about Lisa a
-
cocacious Fred, but supernatural curation follow God doesn't just come
-
from the human thing, right, So the Elijah had that
-
right caused faith to happen with the season of drawd.
-
So right now, in the rainy season, right now, so
-
it's constantly raining, right Could you imagine that you you
-
the very fact you prayed, God helped raiin. Could you
-
imagine the next one whole month insurance there's no rain,
-
one home mon, no rain. Friends?
-
What the amazing feit that God performed?
-
And you think that Elijah will not be afraid of Jezebel,
-
But how may of you know that just because Jezebel
-
wanted his life he ran for it, he was so afraid.
-
So what can we learn from the life of Elijah?
-
Number one is this is that when we are going
-
to challenging times, it's not over and to God says,
-
so come on, when we are going to challenging times,
-
it's not over until God says. So many times our life, friends,
-
we think it's over because our resources run out, our
-
patients runs out, whatever runs out, okay, So it's not
-
over until God says.
-
So the past success.
-
In ministry or life or even the title doesn't examples
-
of future challenges. Number one, the point the past success
-
in ministry, So Elijah had amazing success in ministry, right
-
profess about four hundred versus one. You know, when you
-
stay in front of a crowd four hundred, you'd be afraid.
-
There's there's a signe of a crowd does cost you
-
to be nervous? One? Friends, And I think it was
-
in nineteen nineteen eighty eight or eighty nine when Annoy
-
Brian was put into prison. My workplace was right in
-
the middle of the whole riot and had to go
-
to work and the stuff like that. I remember that,
-
you know, they had the fire brigade was there with
-
the water canons and the stuff that that was that.
-
There was a there was a team of there was a.
-
Girl of people coming down from the street in the
-
protesting and just stuff. So I was in the midst
-
my office was swap smack in the whole thing. And
-
you know whether it's right or not. Friends, lunchime you
-
have to eat, you have to go to the top one.
-
So I went to the top I was. I went
-
to pack my food and the stuff that I was like,
-
I was like, please please a whipe me because if
-
someone knocks me and know my foot speels on the road,
-
I will be fighting. I will be fighting, I'll be shouting.
-
I'm not shouting for freedom. I'm shouting someone pay me
-
back for my food. Right. But you know, sometimes friends,
-
it's standing in front of the crowd causes to be nervous.
-
You're crazy. Your your paste walked a bit quicker then, right?
-
When does influence you? And sometimes we pup at a
-
certain car park. B one is safe, B two is
-
bit risky. B tree.
-
Is dangerous.
-
Sometimes if you have not been to Summy and you're
-
it's the first time that Summy shall be complex, he
-
finds such a dodgy. More, sometimes you probably beat you.
-
You go like, oh, is this safe or not? But
-
those of us who have been there for the past
-
twenty five years, you've beat one to entry. It's all
-
the same, no fear at all. But the past success
-
doesn't doesn't mean that you go to different car parks
-
that you go like you got no fear. And sometimes
-
in our lives, just because we are past successive ministry
-
and life doesn't mean that our future challenges were exempted
-
from So lightened thought by ending his life is the
-
only solution that he could think of. Come on, elightened thought,
-
by just saying that I want to lay that under
-
the broom tree, I cannot take it anymore. By doing that,
-
he thought he could resolve set to the pressure of
-
what it's going. True, sometimes let's not talk about ending
-
our life. Sometimes let's talk about sleep. Whenever we hit
-
a probably sleep away. Somehow got this, got this part
-
of verse. I think that just because we sleep over something,
-
that the next time we wake up will be different.
-
For example, not well, go and sleep. Of course they agreed,
-
all right, not well going, see you wake up, you
-
feel better.
-
Tooth ache, go and sleep.
-
You wake up. It's the tooth. Sometimes it's there, right,
-
And this is what happens in our life. Friends. By
-
sleeping doesn't mean that problems you change on, you know.
-
So in light the thought, by just lying now under
-
the boon tree, the results could be different. By lying now,
-
by just avoiding it, not tackling with it, we thought
-
the result could be different. And there's just an illusion
-
sometimes we live under. I remember that when I yeah,
-
I think it was exter us. I always remember extra
-
us because I had my heart attacking extra us. So
-
I remember extra us. Yeah, that's that's that's why I
-
were afraid to come here. That's pass as Sandra I
-
think I spoke here. Last time was four months ago anyway,
-
just so I remember, I went to all that friends,
-
after seeing the doctors and everything like that, I went back.
-
To sleep with you friends, I went by to sleep.
-
I went back to sleep. I went by to sleep.
-
I thought I I felt better.
-
I did.
-
I thought I felt better.
-
I don't.
-
And the very night I went for I went for
-
the extra.
-
Poplut as well, just because imagine that, yes, your body
-
was under stressed during preaching, right, you went to see
-
the doctor doing the the and the ear right doctor
-
just say maybe you're just tied because I couldn't pick
-
they couldn't pick out anything from that that whole examination, right,
-
So I took a couple of tablets and just say
-
medication and just went back to sleep, just went to sleep.
-
I was physically so drade. I fell asleep immediately after
-
two hours, woke up really hungry, and I told Paster
-
that my body is feeling all right, and this is
-
what happened. I and then if I realz this by sleeping,
-
we thought the result could be different. And I want
-
to encourage your friends, please don't slip away your problems,
-
because problems are going to be there. But ignoring your
-
situation doesn't mean that you will change. And too many
-
people just ignore and just word the power different things
-
to cower it up. It's okay, I don't like to
-
use this example, but I think some of us can
-
relate to it. It's sometimes when we use the toilet
-
cannot flash with power extra should people on top thinking
-
the extra should be bo so somehow rather will cover
-
the message at the bottom. If you understand what I'm
-
trying to say, and the life is like that, just
-
because we have an issue doesn't mean just sleep like
-
cowering it up, that the problems would disappear after a while.
-
But Eli your friends wants to remind story. He reminds
-
us there is a but God in our story of friends.
-
But don't mean by that generous chapter fifty, verse twenty.
-
All right, But as for you, you men even against me,
-
but got many for good in order to bring it
-
about us this day, to save many people's life. So friends,
-
Joseph Wentho a very tough time. Betrayed by the brothers
-
right so off to slavery work in a prison yard,
-
got accused by his employer, put back into prison again.
-
Yet besides everything. First, Joseph, you don't grow bitten. If
-
you were in Joseph Shoe's friend. Chancesities that we can
-
become very bitter, very angry, very real to the situation,
-
very judgmentor as well. But the Bible here says that
-
Joseph of a different world view, there is about God
-
in the story that you and I friends need to know.
-
Whatever challenge we go through and the pressure that we face,
-
God did not say is the end yet. Come on.
-
God did not say your story is ending right now.
-
It's just a continuation. Fris. You and I need to
-
come to this place to realize that no matter what
-
challenges we go through, there's always about God. It's not emotional, friends,
-
it's not one of those things that you that you
-
you wake up with this emotion sometimes at the last
-
breath that we have. But God, I'm still here. So
-
Joseph went to betrayal, went to heartache, went through everything,
-
yet he could just with a smile on his face,
-
he could to say, but God many for good, come
-
on all of us, no matter what we went through.
-
Right this year, I say twenty twenty five could be
-
of such a challenging year. But God is not done
-
with your life yet. Come on, God is not done
-
with your life yet. And many times in your journey, friends,
-
you and I need to remember what the enemy went
-
meant for evil someone's friends. It's not the enemy. Sometimes
-
it's a consequences of our decision, the consequences of disease.
-
About decision ministry to a couple who is badly in debt,
-
asking him like, you know, asking them like, what are
-
you going to do about it? Different different solutions came
-
out and stuff like that. Then I suggested that why
-
don't you seriously pray, pray and ask God about your
-
decision about your property, whether she resell to pay off
-
the debts and live debt free because you don't be
-
paying high interest on one side, on the other side
-
that you're paying alone, and saying you come under the pressure.
-
I say that for it may look like a defeat
-
in the short term, but in the long term it
-
will be victory for you all. It might look like
-
a defeat, and that's what Joseph went to. But you men,
-
even against me, may look like a defeat. You might
-
be living in a place whereby the pressure is so real.
-
First all of us, I mean I was just talking
-
to someone that their pressures are very different right now
-
from what they face and what we used to face,
-
and you know what everybody else is facing. You know,
-
back then our greatest challenge was just you know, what
-
do we do with our free time?
-
Now?
-
Is like they can't. The pressure is so different right now.
-
But the challenges that would be what kind of pressure?
-
How are we dealing with the pressure?
-
And Joseph just.
-
Wants to remind us again, see it from God's perspective,
-
but God meant it for good.
-
It could be evil for what they did, but God
-
can turn her off for good.
-
Let me just turn you the next scripture, first Sevenage
-
of the Treney.
-
Tree was fought in David stayed in the strong.
-
Holes in the wilderness, remain in the mountains, in the
-
wilderness of Zip. Saw sought for him every day, but
-
God did not deliver him into his hands. Story of
-
King Saw and David. You know the story. David killed Goliath. Victory, Hallelujah,
-
Praise the Lord. We always focus on Goliath, Okay, one
-
big Goliath. Hallelujah. Once the Golia is done, friends, we
-
forgot there's a King Saw and the Bible here says
-
in this chapel, it is particular words that David stayed
-
the strunghold in the wilderness. Sometimes frands, the wilderness is
-
not your most perfect place. But yet in the wilderness
-
there was safety. Yeah, in the wilderness there was protection.
-
Yet in the wilderness there was provision. David did not
-
die of hunger in the wilderness. Sometimes we expect God
-
delivered us, and we want him to put us in
-
the five star hotel at least.
-
That we need.
-
As to the cow. Can you excuse the word luxury,
-
not luxury. I say that the uplands like somewhere, but luxury.
-
We expect God to move in this way. But the
-
Bible here is is that David stay in the strongholds
-
in the wilderness.
-
Every man in the mountains, but here some of us.
-
But God, you see, you are my you are my protector,
-
you are my provider, You're my stronghold. But can you just,
-
you know, change the wilderness in the green pastures. Can
-
you just change the wilderness into a luxurious, you know,
-
lamping situation that we want God to move in that way,
-
because then then the confidence come we're standing from people.
-
You know, God, I went through this you know, God
-
provided you know then after all of the sudden that
-
I got this. But the Bible here is that David
-
stayed in the wilderness frands, some of us here in
-
the wilderness right now. But I want to let you
-
know Saw did not find you. Subs have us Saw
-
in our lives. That's coming after you, that's chasing after you.
-
But the Bible here says that even though so for
-
him every day, but God did not deliver him into
-
his hands. It's very amazing, friends, I believe that Saw
-
also new the mountains. You know why, because he went
-
looking after the donkeys in the in the wilderness, in
-
the mountains, saulnew the terrain. Friends, But no matter how
-
much the enemy knows, no matter how much the enemy knows,
-
if God doesn't want you to be found, you won't
-
be found, no matter how much the enemy have knows. Friends,
-
if God doesn't want you, what is the first time
-
you give me the T minis reminder? Sorry, I just
-
got the joke. With all the pieces. I go to Wright,
-
they flash me the number of number of meantes I have.
-
This is thirty minutes. Don you're reminded me, well done?
-
No many, they remind me I got five tien minutes,
-
five minutes and zero minutes, all right. One time X
-
Men Ring, X Men Dream the Resist. But PC called Kaitlyn,
-
and she's really cute because she was she was born
-
on the on the right head with four fingers on
-
me four fingers, and one time she she she used
-
the right head to tell me to sign to me.
-
Actually got five minutes, but she just put our hand.
-
So I looked at her. Kitlyn, do I have four
-
minutes or five minutes? She said, oh, how can we
-
so bad? Because I said, no, Me and Kaitlyn, we
-
are we are like real like someone said, yeah, she's
-
like your adopted doctor. I no, no, I say we
-
have really good wookie relationships. My clique and I was
-
yoking with a killing. If you see one time we
-
got five minutes, please put it another time. I'm sorry
-
this this is me and Kitley.
-
Then know we had a good laugh after that, all right,
-
said oh it'll be so bad at you. I got
-
four fingers.
-
Okay, you know what I'm trying to say, right firts, Okay,
-
I got thank you, thank you so much. It's like
-
track right, here's the thing I want to want to
-
remind us Okay, it's not over until God says, so.
-
Very important for us to understand that no matter what
-
you go to, you could be hounded by your medical report,
-
you could be hounded by different things. So it's not
-
over until God says. So, friends, please understand that, because
-
if really that, if it is the end of your
-
chapter of your life, God will bring you home. So
-
it's not over until God says. So. Sometimes now, in
-
the pressure that we are in right now, you know
-
what pressure does make you feel so alone, make you
-
feel that there's no one else that's going through it.
-
But the Bible here says that reminded Elijah, Elijah, you're
-
not the only person. I spent seven thousand other prophets
-
like you, several other prophets and not bow that needs
-
to bow. So first, don't think that we are the
-
only one in the world that's going through this. God
-
reminds us this morning that there's so much more that
-
He's willing to do. The point number two is sorry
-
this chapter nineteen was twenty six met Tew Chapter nineteen
-
was twenty six. But Jesus look at them and say,
-
with man, this is impossible. Come on, with man, this
-
is impossible. We've got all things are possible. Come on,
-
but we've met coming after we've men. Hey, come on,
-
the victory Academy students can say better than you all know, right, Cort,
-
huh huh, Come on, everyone say with men, this is impossible,
-
but we've got all things are possible. Amen.
-
So many times, our.
-
Life friends, we tried so hard. So I just recently
-
went for my medical checkup, or rather I I got
-
this so recally by carliologists twice or three times a year.
-
So we always do blood test work, and every time
-
the blood test I always well. I was supposed to
-
go in the month of September, but again, like the
-
rest of the other people, right, trying to delay taking that.
-
By delay my my my results could be better. But
-
delays later, I thought to myself, Okay, I just he's
-
been I had to fix the appointment. It's been a
-
couple of months, readly, So I decided to go to
-
see the doctor. And you and I kind of new friends,
-
kind of knew because I've been visiting my cardio doctor
-
for about five years. Really right, I kind of knew
-
the routine that the drill. One part I really don't
-
like is the taking your blood. It's not because I'm
-
afraid of neaders or not because I'm afraid of the blood.
-
I'm okay with it, friends, I'm okay with bleeding. I'm
-
okay with blurred and everything like that. Friends. So I'm okay.
-
I'm okay with paid I am. I am okay with
-
paid typical boys school. I'm okay with paid. What I'm
-
not okay with is the nurse taking my blood. In
-
my entire track record of taking blood, I fitted twice,
-
not because of anything else. It's because the nurse couldn't
-
find my way in. There was one time those of
-
you who cannot hand or stand neiders going the one time,
-
I think the nurse put the syringe, couldn't find, so
-
she put even deeper, couldn't find.
-
Pulled out a bit more and put to the left.
-
Couldn't fight this. It went on friends, about close to
-
about twenty seconds ago, but it felt like it turned
-
the t I was on the chair there right. I say,
-
you better find you quickly, because I got few I'm
-
slowly losing either, like like you know, your mind slowly
-
slipped into like you've got to pass out the kind
-
of thing, uh that couldn't find on the level that
-
pulled out and put to the right hand side.
-
By the sixth time, I think that the nurse got
-
it correct. I was there, I said.
-
Anyway, so I knew the duo friends. So every time
-
my experience, I look at this ness, Oh, I say, Lord,
-
this guy is new because it was my veins is
-
so deep inside because of the layer of fats and
-
stuff stuff like that. So so every time he has
-
to locate and I could tell her a bit more experience,
-
tap twice can find really some alasta for fifteen seconds,
-
that's one. So anyway, I I took the blood and
-
the stuff that I was praying. I was really praying, Okay,
-
I conversed. I learned something for x Charag. I was
-
I was really praying. So as a person I was
-
drawing blood, I said, God, this is your blood. Okay,
-
the blood of Jesus is right now the reach of
-
my blood by your blood. I learned this for x
-
Charag because a guy white cancer cancer say there, say God,
-
this is the blood that his joy right now?
-
Is your blood?
-
All right, there's no more cancer right now in the
-
name of You, and true enough stage four cancer from
-
first blood result to zero cancer marcher second, right, So
-
I said, I said, God, this is.
-
Yours stuff like that, I was gonna begin like so
-
what he did? So I did the same thing.
-
So by the time the results came out, friends, the
-
result came up that my doctor was so surprised it
-
so I ask you a question, what do you do? What?
-
What what do you do? Because so by L d.
-
L, right, myld we understand LDL quite the bad class
-
show by LDL has been two to two point four
-
because you know we're all high achievers, right, so we
-
have to go up a bit kidding, So two point
-
four they say, you know your heart patient, you supposed
-
to be one. So my the target herself for me
-
was one point eight after three or four years of medication, friends,
-
and all the hot work. How I meaning you say
-
that you know how how much I abuse my body
-
with celery and bit root in the morning for breakfast
-
raw salary and raw bit root, blanded just drinking with water.
-
That's the breakfast for champions, right. I couldn't bring it down.
-
So I remember the last one was it's all not better?
-
At one point eight you mentioned achieve it, I thought, great, love,
-
But you know, my doctor being Asian like eight. Don't
-
typical parents Asian parents. One point is a good enough.
-
I want you to get one point six. It's like
-
getting it's a good enough. Must get a plus. You
-
know what I mean?
-
Once you get a plus, but get eight plus plus.
-
So I say the last the last.
-
Result was one point eight, So I want you to
-
get one point six. So my anyway, my my results
-
came out it was one point six. It was one
-
point six. He got.
-
He was in a state of shock. I tried so
-
he himself had patient. I tried so.
-
Hard to get it with auto medication and supplement. I
-
couldn't get it down to one point six?
-
How do you do it?
-
How do you do to one point six? Your l
-
d L.
-
By the diver.
-
I felt like, oh that's the Lord, hallelujah, praised the Lord.
-
You pay me, And now.
-
Look how those stick took videos.
-
You pay me. So I looked at him and said, no,
-
I just I just decided to do take my life
-
fasting a bit more seriously. I did eighteen hours of fasting,
-
then sometimes twenty four hours. Say I'm attempting to do
-
for the eight and for these two days and three
-
days of fasting but you know I did tell you.
-
I just I just say this.
-
You know, I prayed. I remember in my quiet time
-
and say, Lord, you have to help me to bring
-
it down. You have to help me to bring it down.
-
You have to help me to bring it down. I
-
didn't chache much routine friends. In fact, I think the
-
last the last six months, I wasn't really strict with
-
my diet. And one time I met the tope of
-
the top dietition in Malaysia and I told my story
-
in my case, how sometimes after a while, your remedy
-
becomes like your your badge of honor like that, if
-
you understand what I'm trying.
-
To say, just because you punish your body.
-
With salary and big brute like you felt, Oh, you're
-
better than the rest of other people. You're in chocolate
-
there for big first and the stuff like that. You've
-
seen the look at me, I'm more holy. Sorry, excuse
-
that we're more holy in my diet than you. Right,
-
Sometimes you feel that way. You know, of course you
-
went you punish your body that way. But I remember
-
that the amount of salary I eat in the morning,
-
it's one it's ten sticks, not one. Ten sticks of
-
stocks do stick stocks of salary in the morning. I
-
remember going all to that way into go for blood tests.
-
I get so disappointed. The same I punished my body
-
with ten stock or salary every morning. It's still the same.
-
That relative scripture is very real. I remember for the
-
past six months when my prioritize the Lord you have
-
to bring my LDL down. I can't do everything I
-
can with my own possible strength, but the SuperNature you
-
have to help me to bring it down. I want
-
to encourage you with men, this is impossible. Sometimes everything
-
we have access to, the supplements and everything I have friends,
-
we can access to. Everything still doesn't work. Situation doesn't change,
-
still the same, but we've got all things are possible.
-
So in your quiet time, friends, have we been praying
-
about it? Not in you? Because if we say if
-
God can work supernaturally, then we need to engage. We
-
need to pray, We need to just and it's not
-
a lot of those prayer like like like wow, those
-
long prayers like like a teological prayer or stuff that.
-
But we need to be consistent our prayer. God, please
-
give me reason what I need to do. Please help
-
me in this situation. The Bible say, ask that you
-
shall receive, seek you shall find. Come on, not it
-
will be open. If you don't ask, you don't receive.
-
If you don't seek, you won't find. If you don't know,
-
it won't be open. But some about rather, we have
-
this Christian false Christian mindset. They think just because you're
-
a Christian, the door it's automatic that by time you
-
reach the door, the door openers by yourself. It's like, well,
-
does shopping out doors like you better? You wish the
-
door open by yourself. But now that you saw a
-
new system, they see you have the press, the thing
-
that you can think open. And sometimes we forgot the
-
press our own Christian life as well. We don't pray,
-
am I asking us to suspend hours, but at least
-
start from somewhere like that. We see the scripture that
-
with men it's impossible. We've got all these impossible. Therefore,
-
engage God in your sacred place, amen. Cool point number two,
-
rede your strength. You must renew your strength. Come on,
-
you must renew your strength when you go to every problem.
-
Come on, you must reded your strength because problems.
-
Weighs you down.
-
Come on, tires you out mentally, physically, everything else, you
-
don't feel like doing anything else but to vegetate on
-
your bait. Right. So, however, friends, renewing your strength is
-
not your typical way. I'm gonna say this again now,
-
the Angel of the Lord come on, provided cakes, bike
-
over coat and the jar of water, cakes over coat
-
and the jar of water. I'm not sure friends, in
-
our way we eat stuff in our life whether or
-
not we eat just eat cakes and water, because it
-
is not one of those cuisine that you look up for.
-
Just kicks the water, and God reminded me it's as
-
simple as just that. Sometimes we talk about renewing strength,
-
we always look for a formula sly for eight hours,
-
and all this physically is true. Slip for eight hours,
-
you need your strength, and just stuff like that work
-
out you really your strength or you get more strength.
-
But the Bible has this other thing you your friends.
-
So problems raise you down, stress raise you out. Correct not.
-
But so the Lord's way is very different from our way.
-
So when the Age of the Love provided cakes over hot,
-
cold and the jarl water really reminds me that some
-
things we could have overlooked that actually does give you strength.
-
Just let me just give you one of the examples. Okay,
-
it may be simple food, but give us strength from
-
the Lord. Let me give you one example Exodus twenty,
-
verse twelve. Honor your father and your mother. Your days
-
will be long upon the language the Lord has given you.
-
Now we pray for a longer life. But the Bible
-
here says he's asking us to honor our parents. So,
-
in other words, friends, to renew your strength doesn't come
-
from just taking in supplements for yourself, taking in the
-
rest for yourself only. It really comes from doing what
-
God says. For example, if you want long life only
-
your parents totally very different. In your friends, the Bible
-
says that if you've got something against your brother, your
-
prayers won't be hurt. So therefore, exercise forgiveness first, because
-
the bitterness come on, Isn't it true?
-
If you're bitter in.
-
Your heart, friends, there is no rest, and every time
-
you see the individual the person, you get upset. It
-
could be your office colleagues, and every day your office
-
clique is certain phrase our friends, we get all round
-
up insights and sometimes friends is to release the forgiveness.
-
Once you release the forgiveness, do what God.
-
Wants you to do.
-
Strength comes up there, because your strength is not divided
-
into managing your bitterness and managing your peace. I'm trying
-
to say so, therefore, first you're renewing. Your strength doesn't
-
come from just keep protein powder or drinking hunger plus
-
or shouldar water.
-
It comes really from like God.
-
If I if I'm angry about someone, the Bible says,
-
do not let the sun go down on your anger.
-
So God wants us to renew our strength to his way.
-
And that's the reason why sometimes friends, you could say
-
that we've got all things are possible. We can declae scriptures,
-
but no breakthrough because we don't live out and change
-
our lifestyle. The Bible says that you know, if you
-
don't praise me, the rocks will cry out, the trees
-
will cry out, and many times your life, we want
-
the breakthrough. Come on, we want the break to we
-
want to see something happen. But yet at the same
-
that we won't do what God wants us to do,
-
and that's why the strength doesn't come. The Bible says,
-
wait upon the Lord, and you shall renew your strength.
-
So a lot of people just go around waiting, come on, waiting,
-
but not upon the Lord. Because when you wait upon
-
the Lord, friends, you'll be transformed and renewed in your mind.
-
You and I friends, need to renew our strength in
-
the way He wants us to renew our strength. So
-
I've used this scripture because only your parents, the Bible says,
-
comes along with the blessing of love, longer life, longer life,
-
which made to say that no, no illness or disease
-
can cut shot your life. Because of that's a promise
-
from the Bible. Sometimes I met campus students, even young
-
working adults have that's so bitter.
-
Against their parents, and yet they expect God to move
-
in every other way.
-
If you want to really want to see a brick
-
to renew your strength, look at what look at the
-
way we make decisions about life.
-
The Bible says that no, no, let me turn your
-
next scripture right.
-
Next scripture is if it's just a chapter four, verse
-
thirty one, Let all busterness, rough anger, climate, even speaking,
-
be put away from you.
-
Come on, Let all betterness, rough.
-
Anger, climber, even speaking, be put away from you, And
-
be kind to one another. Ten forgiving one another, even
-
as God in Christ forgave you. But either you don't understand, no,
-
this bitterness sometimes is my badge of honor. We wear it,
-
we tell people about it and about it. But friends,
-
I'm going to show you from my last point afterwards,
-
if we don't let it go, friends, it's very hard
-
for us to move forward the Lord. If you don't.
-
You know, sometimes you know what happens when you've been
-
so angry and you're so bitter. Friends, we do crazy
-
stuff on We were ministreaming to one couple one day.
-
One couple one day, the wife was so angry with
-
the husband. The wife was so angry with the husband,
-
so angry you know that she that she went took
-
her marriage set out and tore it halfway. I could like,
-
why do you do that? I see your your husband
-
didn't betray you. Your husband didn't your husband sleep me
-
and the woman. Your husband didn't do anything. They didn't
-
take your money to investge the big coin, nothing at all.
-
Your husband just told you something and you got you
-
round up and you have to tell the shut halfway.
-
I don't know what over me laughter. We put a
-
tip after that. No, we we share about this. Sometimes
-
Now we look back, we can love about it, but
-
at the very point in time it can cause your friends,
-
how if you know it takes a lot of energy
-
to be angry, man, It takes a lot of energy
-
for you to be angry. It takes a lot of
-
energy to be bitter. It takes a lot of energy
-
to express the bitterness and anger. And that's why the Bible,
-
he said, let our business rather anger, to put a
-
side right so that it comes. Most of the time,
-
me and my wife we only argue a few things.
-
One thing we argue about is where to eat, just
-
like the church after the service, asking where to eat.
-
It's the longest decision ever longer you know your fellowship
-
here fellowship that would say fellowship in the car decaiding
-
where to eat? Me and my wife the same one,
-
where to eat, and for we can drive for forty
-
five minutes. Friends, only let up in the same place
-
we eat like yesterday. And sometimes that's what happens, Freds
-
is because it's because we don't we don't let go
-
off the assumptions. So I told my wife that I said,
-
where do you want to eat? Her replies, anyway you
-
want to eat? No, I want to hear where you
-
want to eat anywhere? Also, can then you suggest something
-
like Nazi cover you night, Naikanda here praise the Lord, hallelujah. Right,
-
my wife and Nazi Cana not good friends. She she
-
was in na. Everything had to be separated individual, the individual,
-
compartment nothing she we touch you one another? Right? The
-
carry cannot make you under carry because they're not friends, right,
-
they're not. They're not friends in marriage here, so they
-
cannot mix around. Right, So every day to be separated
-
and start stuff like that. So I look at it,
-
but you ask me mouth, so I suggest. If I suggest,
-
you say no. So for forty five minutes can go
-
a direction of destination, and someone with a cushion life
-
is the same. A direction. We think we're hitting somewhere
-
with our cushian life, only to let up in the
-
same place that we were in the same pit as
-
we were last year. Because we don't renew our strength
-
and my last point, we don't renew our mind. We
-
just assume only you and I know that she doesn't
-
like and I purposely need the same because I liked it.
-
Come on, I said, I'm the member of the house.
-
I make decision. Ma, I give you no friends, So
-
that's why I decided I want to us just kidding, right,
-
So many people do the right cover. Many people do
-
many things right but not necessary the right thing. Many
-
people do many things right but not necessarily the right thing.
-
Could you could be doing everything right like drive, thinking
-
the car out, getting the car, hating to a direction
-
by not doing the right thing, but by making decisions.
-
Okay, let's go somewhere.
-
Just because, friends, we get so busy with our lives.
-
Business doesn't equate means that we're doing the right thing.
-
The business is not a barometer for productivity. And some
-
of you know it, and we leave our bache as
-
a Christian, you're so busy. Wow, praise God. You're so
-
on fire? No necessary? Friends, Can you be on fire?
-
If you know you're the only person in our church? Friends,
-
just want to let you know the direction? But hating
-
if we want to quip everyone, equip everybody, every believer
-
here to be ready one day weapon. If you're the
-
only person that believes in God, can you still stand
-
hold onto that my God is real? Yes, I may
-
not have the band with me, I may not have
-
like pass the glove with me to encourage me, But yeah,
-
can I still stand or not? Can I still hold
-
on to His truth? It could be like these friends
-
with you. You're the only one in the hospital ward
-
just before surgery, lying on this cold metal.
-
Bait.
-
You're the only person. But can you can you hold
-
on to God's truth and say He's with me or not?
-
So that's what it's very important for ends. So business
-
is not that aim. The aim is to know that
-
my God says that it's not until you say it's over,
-
and learn from me that God says, if there's any
-
busness in my life, I need to release it. If
-
there's any anger in my life pass hurts, I need
-
to deal with it because that's where I renew my strength.
-
That's why I've been set free. That's why I can
-
run without change, holding on my legs. Right, finally, it's
-
going to be these stress We knew the mind. So
-
even though with so many experiences of we've God, Elijah
-
was still afraid of Jezebel, Elijah was still afraid of Jezebel.
-
So how we see experienced things can trigger our minds
-
to think too much. Relate the confusion and exhaustionit. How
-
we see and experienced things can trigger our mind to
-
think too much. You know, doing church for past thirty
-
five years, and we meet a lot of new visitors
-
with our church. And some visitors no problemly just come
-
looking for church to be part of. But one or
-
two situations we get visitors. First thing that comes from
-
the leaps is the elder just wanted to check you.
-
My past heard from the other church, my past hurt
-
from the other church. I say, sister brother, look, I'm
-
sure it wasn't a pleasant experience. However, before you start
-
telling me about what the other pastor or leader did
-
not do for you, I want to encourage you.
-
Today, always let it go and walk to the Lord.
-
The moment you see a leader, you get triggered. Leaders
-
are like that, you'll crusifer them in a box. For example,
-
a statement would come to you in this form, serf,
-
do you want to serve an art? The moment you here,
-
do you want to serve dout? It triggers you to
-
automatic response, Let me pray about it. That's what happens.
-
Asked do you want to serve? Dout? Let me pray
-
about serving the God you asked me to serve. It's
-
very natural because it triggers friends. If our mind is
-
renew friends, you always just say yes, how can I
-
help But if a mind is not renew what happens
-
is that because of your past experience and hurt them
-
whatever you went through every time, pasty you want to
-
If not.
-
Yes, as a host, no, as a home leader. So
-
why do I look at every home leader?
-
They got this supernatural tank they have to feel themselves
-
with and curae you because during they teach and hope
-
somebody responds one and everything like that. Because friends, if
-
our mind is not renewed, that's how we see things. Friends,
-
it gives the same response every time.
-
And God is asking us.
-
To renew your mind? What was the delighted response? Let
-
me lay down at this boom tree. Then let me
-
die because of Jezebel ed Jessebinic teams come out. I
-
want to die, to come out? Do you under some
-
a lot? Let me pray about it? No difference, same expression.
-
But God's reminding us fress you know from the experience
-
of Elijah, friends, elighten not say the face anymore. No,
-
we should really say something must have happened in this life.
-
But his words begins to change this aubmitter, do this scripture,
-
you know the scripture? Okay, do not be confirmed to
-
this world, but be transformed with renewer of your mind.
-
You know this, right ro. Much of the travelers too,
-
do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed
-
by the renew of your mind. So I'll speak about
-
confirmed confirmation, confirmation versus transformation. What do you mean by dad?
-
This is my last point. I got to go to
-
streak a Bangan, which I think they're still in worship. Yeah,
-
a lot of Christian now you know why don't get
-
invited love places like extrast as though a lot of Christians,
-
this is what I discover, right, say they read the Bible.
-
A lot of Christians say they read the Bible, they pray.
-
My barilmeter, my assisize this that if you see you
-
read the Bible, you pray, then your mind must be renewed,
-
because the Bibles did not be confirmed digital, but be
-
transferred by the renewing of your mind.
-
Right quite not so.
-
If your mind is renewed, friends, why I put your
-
words to be different? Come on, if your mind is renewed,
-
then your words must be different. But a love Christian
-
even though serving sometimes friends repeat back the same the
-
same story that happened last year, two years ago, as
-
father as ten years ago. No change in the words.
-
But yet can tell me that I read the Bible,
-
I know the scripture. But our mind is not renewed.
-
Because if our mind is not, really, you're not going
-
to see a solution from the way out. That's why
-
it's so important, friends, that we say that we renew
-
our mind.
-
Our words come on our words. The way we express, the.
-
Way we say it must change because how long are
-
we going to say that I was five years ago. Yes,
-
I agree that that pain threads takes a while to
-
overcome in but you know what, carry this for the
-
next ten years. So something must change. Because if a
-
mind is renewed, friends, come out. If your mind is renewed.
-
When somebody asked you, would you serve, we will say,
-
let me pray about it. The first quest is say,
-
if ever you want me to at least explore the
-
possibility first before we say no. But before even before
-
we explore the possibility, the first thing is no, I'm
-
very busy.
-
No to heart.
-
You can shake it. No I cannot. We have for
-
so many reasons why people don't want to serve as hosts.
-
I shake some partners hand, friends, elder, My hands are
-
so mostterarized by the hands I have before I shake
-
it some, but this hands just put the mostarizer that. Wow,
-
this is freeposturizer. Whyever, bread, this is hallelujah? Why don't
-
I share? An other person says her diamond room was
-
so big?
-
I should I? Oh, thank you Jesus, hallelujah. Right, you
-
know what we went through before. But friends, it's like
-
going to close friends.
-
We say that we spend time with the Lord, with
-
our Bible. But if our life doesn't change, if there
-
is no break through, no change the way we live,
-
big decisions, no change in the way we speak. I'm
-
not asking this to be like one at change, you know,
-
I must say that there's a sudden degree of changes.
-
There must be the change in some phrases that you use.
-
I was talking to one brother that day.
-
It's a close actually can come out of the said,
-
I know you guys are waiting for me.
-
I was talking one brother that day. You know who's
-
the leader, and know and and this we always.
-
Say this phrase. Recently, and I begin to this, Oh God,
-
not enough money, not enough money, not enough money. In
-
one city of two hours with him, this phrase was
-
used four times, four times. Now I understand. You can
-
see the face. One time I said not enough money,
-
I an't said all right, But to use the same
-
phase four times in the span of two hours or
-
less than two hours shows me something even deeper. Because
-
by the confession of your lips, you live by one.
-
You know, if we keep saying that I'm going to
-
get cancer, friends, chances is very high, very high. That's
-
why you don't confess death. We speak life in the situation.
-
That's how you notice our prayer phrase. Now we'll say,
-
cass you take over. We all say cancer be nullified
-
in Jesus team, because out in the name of Jesus,
-
we spect life in the situation, because we truly believe that.
-
You know, when Jesus spoke into the cave and Lesius
-
was dead, let's just come forth.
-
Let's just came forth.
-
So God was trying to tell us that there is
-
power in our confession. So as this where they beginning
-
to confess, I had to check in my spirit. I
-
had to check my spirit. If your mind is totally renewed,
-
then the statement is even though I may have lack,
-
even though I may not have enough, but my God
-
shall supply all my needs. Come on but my God
-
shall supply all my needs even though I'm not well.
-
But by God says that by his stripes, I've been
-
made whole.
-
Many times in our life you just stop at the problem,
-
not providing a solution to our problem. See the way
-
God reminds us he is our power of refuge, our
-
strength is to let us know. You have to renew
-
our mind. We knew our minds so that the way
-
we declare is different. As I close and just being
-
reminded again, it's not really just about all that ministry. See,
-
ministry is good friends. My final point in which I
-
don't have time is just this one. Like you understand this,
-
It is about your relationship with the Lord. Elijah friends
-
experienced so many break through SuperNature seventeen, Chapter seventeen, Chapter eighteenth.
-
It reminds me of of friends. You can do so
-
much in the Lord, but can actually forget about the
-
relationship with the Lord, because once it's relationship friends. Even
-
though the most challenging moments friends, you know that you're
-
because of the relationship that God would abandon you. The
-
contrast between Elijah and Joe's Seph. Joseph did not lay
-
in prison and just say God had enough ready. First
-
of all, my brother sold me to slavery. Send me
-
the slavery. There After I was bought by potifar. Wife
-
took advantage of me. I was in the realm to
-
the prison prison. You got me out serving the king's court.
-
Tobet the prisons again that came out. I mean, you
-
imagine this going torough life. You're you're there so nil
-
by yes so far since a close friends. It's all
-
about your relationship with the Lord.
