Session 4 - Unpacking The Vision of Acts Church | Pr Gloria Paul

You're listening to a passage to go from at church.

We hope this message will light up your tea.

So let's just do a bit of a recap from

session tree. Anyone can just shout out, what do you

remember from what we learned in previous Sunday? Prepare? That's right, okay,

it's to God is calling us to prepare? How do

we prepare ourselves? Bring umbrella? Yes, that was mentioned, right,

you have to bring your umbrella. It can rain anytime

in Malaysia. Yeah, okay, you've got to bring your umbrella.

What else do you remember? How do we do it?

How do we prepare ourselves? What do we U should

do in church? Apollow Jesus? Okay? Discipleship? All right? And

if you remember this phrase that we we learned last week,

how do we do it? I do you watch? Right?

I do you help? And then you do I help?

You do? I watch? Okay? So you're not trying to

just get our people to okay, go plant churches, you know,

go do missions, go do and this and that. But

you don't know what you're doing, right. We are here

to guide you through to journey with you. That is

why we are a church we're a community. For those

of you have gone for missions for the first time,

you'll know that you're not just said Okay, arrive to

this place and go all by yourself, right. We have

proper training, proper guidance. In fact, when you are there,

there's always a team looking out for you as well,

making sure things are okay, right, So we are there

to journey with you. Yeah, so that's something that we

learned as well. So we talked about how are we

preparing for the next twenty years? Okay, we learn the

five different seas. Can your shout out what's the first sea? Conviction?

What's the second one? Condition? Third, corporation, thought, community, and

the last one is college. Right. So again, if you're

feeling there is this new things to you, you can

always listen back to the message. So these five seats

that passed the Cann't sheard was to kind of give

us a guide on how to prepare ourselves for the

next twenty years. Yeah, and it all starts with conviction.

Right.

Someone can tell you a please serf, please do this,

please do that, but you can only do it out

of conviction. You can only do it when you know

that yes, I loved a lot, and I want to

serve his house. Right, No one can force that through us.

The same thing with condition corporation working together the community

and college goes back to training, right, you want to

train and equip our people. Especially this year we're emphasizing

more on that. Yeah, and again, how do we make disciples?

Three f that we went through, follow me, yeah, feed

my sheep and fishes of men. Okay, again where this

all found in the Bible? Okay, this is what you know.

Jesus himself told his disciples right to follow me, and

then Paul when he led his people. Is it follow

me as I follow Christ, imitate me as I imitate Christ.

Feed my sheep. That is what we're called to do, right,

or what Jesus is. That's for us as our good shepherd,

and be fishes of men. So fishes of men is

when we go out there and win souls. Right. There's

so many people out there who still are looking for answers,

you know, wondering what's gonna happen when the world ends.

What's the sense of hope? And here we are that

we need to bring that gospel out there? Are we good?

Right?

So the summary of the mission of discipleship is to

always give only our best to God. Amen. My best

may be different from your best, right, but it's just

about between you and God to ask him, Lord, what

is the best that I can give, especially to this year,

you know, as I step into your presence? Yeah? Right,

So we're going to go through the fourth part today, okay,

And as you look through again for those of you

are here for the first time, you'll see that there

are notes here on the screen, and then there's some

blank space that you can fill in in your books

or your notes as well. Right. So the difference here, okay,

when we talk about planning and making disciples, the difference

is that you know, we have heard of the things before,

like you know, So what makes the difference. I've heard

of all these things? Right? Three things? Firstly, is what

is God saying? If you want to align, right, what

is God saying? What is or are your leaders saying? Right?

And what are you saying? Because you've got to speak

the same tune or the same rhythm, right. Well, if

God is telling us to win souls and our leaders

are telling us to win souls, we also speaking the

same language. Right. And of course, by now, if you've

been in ex for some time, you will know that

this is what we've always been advocating about. Win souls

for Christ right, to reach the loss. Every initiative that

we do, whether it's revel for our teenagers, for our youth,

or for young adults, everything is about winning souls. When

we do different hangouts, it's all about inviting friends so

that they can know Christ. Right discipleships. We meet together, Yes,

we have a good time, we markan and all that,

but what's the goal behind it is so that we

can disciple and grow together. Right, like what Pastor shed

that the last Sunday that every time you know we

meet up. Yes we can have and talk about different things,

but a lot of the times, I mean me journeying

to a bit pasta for some time. Now, what I

learned is what she talks about when we have conversations. Right.

The question is that she asks or the stories that

she share most of the time is to actually help

us to think, how is my growth with Christ? You know,

how is my journey being? Or sometimes even to challenges,

write and say, you know, how is your relationship with

people around you? Right? And so everything is very intentional, right,

from the things that we do in church. So what

is God saying? What are your leaders saying? And what

are you saying? And we say what are your leaders saying?

In XS? Like I said, we believe in discipleship. So

most of us here who have been in we call

it a huddle relationship or we have this discipleship relationship

going on. We have a leader that we look up to,

right or we journey with and so what it is

speaking into our lives? And are we catching it as well? Yeah?

So you must go away saying something like yes or no?

Are you running with this vision or not? As simple

as that. Yeah, it's no such thing as being maybe

or in between or just say ataspaga. Right, then where

are you hating to? We're gonna always be very warm. Lookwarm.

They call it lukewarm Christians.

Right.

It's either you want to run with the vision and

then you go all in, you start serving, you start

winning souls for Christ. Yeah, or if you're saying, well

maybe this is not mine, I want to go somewhere else,

then you pray about it and that's maybe something you've

got to think about. Yeah, why are we emphasizing on

this is because if not, we're just gonna end up

warming up the church the chess. Okay, we're gonna feel

the chess. So we're gonna just be a Sunday Christian.

We heard of that term, right, you just come because

it's a religion. Right, It's because I need to fit

or have a checklist in my life as a as

a Christian. But what am I doing about it? Right?

What am I doing from my Mondays to my Saturdays?

We have to run with the vision. Likewise, if you're

out there in the marketplace for our young adults who

are working. You can be working in the company for

a long time. But if you don't believe in the vision,

or if you don't like how your boss does things,

will it be happy? Will you be happy working in

that place? Definitely?

Not.

Maybe you're there for the salary, right, but after some

time you feel frustrated. What's the point of life? What's

the purpose? Right? You've got to truly be fulfilled, right,

You've got to believe in what you're doing. You've got

to have a clear purpose in life. Yeah, And if

you're feeling if you're in that part of life, or

you're thinking, okay, what's the point of everything? Then I

pray that you will find that in the lot. Yep,

maybe that's the time to just even talk to someone

about it. Because God created all of us with a purpose.

What's the purpose to worship him?

Right?

We are? We are? We are created to be His worshippers.

And that is why it says you are created in

His image, meaning we are called we are, we are

created to call him our father in heaven, you know.

And the moment we and the more we don't realize that,

that's when we try to find meaning in other things

or we get confused with other knowledge. Right, So it's

very important that we you know, Like I said, it's

either we are with the vision, especially if you call

X your home, right. If you're still deciding, well, then

take your time. Yeah, speak to someone about it. But

if this is where you call your home X, then

it's either you're running with the vision or you're not. Okay,

it's very important to think about that because Jesus himself

after hearing what others said about him, Remember it was Jesus,

a very likable person on earth. What do you think

not to everyone? Yeah, those who believed in him, those

who were journeying with him and they caught the heart

of Jesus, then they knew that who Jesus is is

the true God. You know, the promise that was given

is fulfilled. They followed him. Yeah, but for those who

are just like I said, on the fans who are

still wondering, we were still listening to other voices like the Pharisees,

then you're still asking questions, right, And that is why

there were those of them disciples themselves who decided not

to follow Jesus. Do you know it was only the

twelve Disciples that we know, there were actually more disciples,

not just this twelve, right, and then there were those

who kind of had their own belief systems going on. Right,

So what Jesus did? Jesus himself asked Peter, what who

do you say I am? So Jesus was very intentional

to want to know whether his disciples actually know what

and who they're believing in. They're not just following him

for the sake of the crowd of fame, but do

they actually know that he is Jesus? They are Rabbi,

their teacher, right, the Messiah. If they can give those

answers then meaning they have caught it in their hearts. Yeah,

and that is why we say catching the heart is

very important. And if you're here seated today and we're

asking you why are you seated? You're in church because

my mother asked me to come. I hope that's not

your answer, right, It's because I want to. It's my Sabbath, right.

I want to make room for God. I want to

worship him. This is the time that I make for him. Yeah.

It has to be your own conviction, your own relationship

with God. Yeah. So being very intentional. So we're gonna

go on to what we call the tree els. Okay,

so you realize we have all these tree c's, three apps,

three l because it just helps you remember okay better

and you realize that these three l's what's needed to

help us prepared towards discipleship. But at the same time,

it can also be a challenge. Okay, So we're gonna

learn that. So the first L here is the loss. Okay.

Vision of X has always been about the loss, right,

I like, I'm like, I give the different examples, the

different initiatives we do throughout the year, it's always about

the loss. You know, as a believer, I feel that

I mean being a believer for a while. Now, I've

learned that there's a part of you where you've got

to equip yourself. Right, where you read the word, you

grow yourself, You have the right conversations, you let people

speak into your life. So that's something you've got to

be fully filled in. That's essential. But another part that

you've got to emphasize on is what am I doing

to bring this truth back out so that there must

be an outlet. Yeah, if everything you just take in

and take in, you feel happy, you feel excited, you

feel I know the truth. What's gonna happen? They call

it a spiritual opacity? Right, you get just so fat

with all the goodness. What you do about it? You've

got to also share it to others, Right, You've also

got to share what you caught. Right, And so if

you're in a discipleship relationship, you caught something from your leader,

from your pastor, and you and you realize that this

is something that God has been speaking to me through

my quiet time as well, share it to someone. Yeah,

share what you caught to someone. That is how we

can understand or how can we play a part of

catching this this vision of our church which is to

the loss. Yeah, and it doesn't matter how long you're

a believer. It doesn't mean that. Okay, if I'm a

Christian for two years, I need to some more, take

time five years. Only then I can share the gospel.

There's no such certification, right, even if you can be

a believer for one month. I seen friends who have

been a believer for a short while, but because they're

so on fire, right, they caught the word, they caught

the vision. They are just feeling God's presence and love

and then they straight away share it with their family,

can share it with their friends. Yeah. The problem is

sometimes when we've been too comfortable in church, we keep

the goodness to ourselves and then we forget. Hey, how

to share the gospel? Right? What if they say no

to me? How if I'm called the spiritual person around

my circle of friends? You know, then I disincare right,

I'm out of this whole group of friends. The how,

the overthinking? Right? But if you notice a child, you know,

why do children make friends so easily? Because they don't

think much? Right, They just say Hi, can I be

your friend? And then they become a friend to the

next person, not asking you to go make friends with strangers. Yeah.

But what I'm trying to say is sometimes we tend

to think too much. We've got to put our feet

in practice. Yeah. If we just take of the Bible

as just okay stories, they're all stories. I mean they're

great stories. Are there stories that are you know, difficult

or sometimes heartbreaking? Yes? Because they're all humans, they are

their lives. Right, But how do we leave out the

word of God? Is when we share it out right,

when we can talk to someone else about it, That

is how we remember. That is how we leave it out. Yeah.

If not, it's just going to be hate knowledge. You know,

I've had friends who sometimes we have been you know,

they have Bible colleague certificates, doctors, and but they have

left the faith along the while along the Yes, why

it becomes hate knowledge? Does it work in your heart? Right?

What you read in the Bible, do you take time

minister to you as well? Yeah? So what I'm trying

to tell your church is winning the loss is all

of our restus reponsibility. Yeah. It cannot just be one person.

It cannot be just the leaders. It cannot be just

the pastor or a very spiritual person. Only then you

can do. All of us can do it. If you're

here sitting and you say, yes, I've tasted and see

that the Lord is good. I know that Jesus died

on the cross is the reason why I'm here today.

Then you have your testimony to share to someone. You

don't need something complicated. You don't need to memorize the

whole Bible. Yeah, you don't need to be a Bible scholar.

It is simple as sharing your testimony is. And if

you have heard testimonies of how people are you win

for Christ or those who accept Christ, it's true the

simplest way, yep. And if you go for missions, you

will see that happening, because these are the people who

are living in such simplicity, who are just longing for

the Lord, who is longing for answers, who's longing for hope.

And then if you can just say Jesus loves you,

a simple phrase like that, or Jesus is your hope

in the midst of all the chaos, that can change

a person's life. Yeah, that can change a person's life.

So let's not be Christians who just complicate things or

just trying to wait for the right time, because you

never find the right time. It's about now, because you

know why, tomorrow may never come. Tomorrow may never come. Yeah,

let's not take things for granted. One day you may

see your friend here today, Tomorrow you may not see them.

Do you want to live in that regret? Or do

you want to do something about it now? Yeah, let's

get real church. Yeah, sometimes as a church, we can

live in this very happy bubble we call it, you know, yes,

happy fun smile, you know we're joyful. Well, that's what

church is, right, But we cannot keep this to ourselves.

You've got to do something about it. Yeah. And to me,

I to me, I feel there's an urgency. Yeah. God

has put this in my heart, especially being in the marketplace.

You know, I find every opportunity I can do it,

whether it's a it's a you know, of a different faith,

whether it's true my students. I just find ways that

if I can just share my story, I do it right.

And let me tell you this, all of you have

your own stories. We cannot compare whose story is better?

That story is powerful to you and you share it. Yeah,

so let's do that. Church Number one is the loss, Okay?

And I pray and I pray that this would be

a prayer for all of us that got will impress

or put that name in your heart for this year

and just be intentional to reach out to that person.

Be genuine, call them out for a meal, pray for them.

If they're unwell, send them an encouraging message. It goes

a long way. Amen. Yeah. So the first one is

the loss. Are we good right now? The second is

the leaders. We need leaders to raise some Okay, and

in fact, in CTS, we believe that everyone can be

a leader. And that is why we have what we

call the apps class right where you can actually learn

through the different courses. Okay, we have different courses like

the ten commitments of a leader. We have what we

call the small group. Right. Small group is where we

actually talk about what the small group actually mean. Small

group can also exist in your company, in the office

that you're working with. If you're having lunch and you're

coming together and you're sharing something you know, I didn't

ask Rafaels, you know, permission to share this, but you're

sharing with us during missions about how he does small

group in your office, right, Yeah, and it is his testament.

You can talk to him and ask more but then again,

it happens in the most generic way, right. You do

it with your colliaques, you do it with your friends.

You know, I know teachers who meet in schools during

their recess. They come together. We've had stories in ipgs,

right or not even ipgs, in schools where teachers actually

have small groups with their students where the students come

to their home and they talk about life and we're

talking about students or send a two, send a tree,

and they're eager to know about who Jesus is. Right,

And so these are the kind of courses that we

have small group ten commitment of the leader, and so

whatever we're trying to do is you're trying to create

a pathway where if you want to learn what it

means to be a leader, you can go through this

courses and then someone is there to actually guide you. True. Yeah.

And one of the things that we have learned as

the leader here is that we're not right up there,

but we're the lowest right Why because we are called

to serve artists, just like how Jesus is called this,

you know of others as well. Jesus when to wash

the feet of these disciples, that shows the heart of

Him as well. Right, and so the leaders, the one

thousand that we already have, everyone should be a disciple

and eventually leads someone to the Lord. Yeah. And so

I'm speaking to all our leaders here today, thank you

for answering the call. Right, but I prayed that we

will also not just be be where we started as

a leader as well. Right, We've got to continuously rise up.

You know, if I started as a leader from my

campus days, well great for answering that call a young age.

But as you step in as a young adult, as

you grow in your faith, is there substance in your prayer?

Is there substance in your relationship with God? Your faith

in God? Yeah? And that is why you journey with

someone else. Yeah. And so as leaders we need to

rise up. And for those who are here again, it's

not VIP privilege to be a leader. Anyone can be

because we're all called by Jesus. Yeah, we are called

to be disciples. Yeah. So the leaders is very important

when we talk about preparation and winning for the laws.

And the third we have is what we call the leven. Okay,

Jesus said in Matthew thirteen, verse thirty three. But if

we have the scripture here, Yeah, it says the kingdom

of heaven is like leven. Okay, and so when leven

or yeas or most of us will be familiar with yeas,

right when you put it into the door, what does

it do? It begins to rise? Right. If you don't

put yeas into your brain, it wouldn't rise, right, it

wouldn't rise. And did you know, Okay, when I was

reading about this using leven or yeas, sometimes yeas may

not also work after a while if you just keep

it there, it just don't function. It doesn't just function right.

And sometimes leaven will not work when the temperature is

not right, whether it's too cold or too hot. Yeah,

and so the question that we got to ask ourselves is, yes,

the leaven is there, disciples ready, but are we that

the yeas that actually plays the function to get the

bread to rise or are we in a place or

temperature where we're not really hot enough or you know

the right temperature to be used. Yeah, the leven gets

disciples and lead us out of their comfort zone. Okay.

And that is why we send out laborers into the harvest.

Feel to be kicked off. Another term that is used, yeah,

to send out laborers into the harvest. Feel and that

is why we encourage partners to serve, because when you

start serving, you're stepping out of your comfort zone, you

know you because you've got to come prepared. You ask

our worship team. The preparation is not just on that

Sunday morning, right, is throughout the week. You're already thinking

of the songs you're singing, you're preparing your heart, you're

preparing use, you're serving the lot. You want to be

at the right place, right hard right position. Yeah, same

thing with every other ministry. You've got to prepare yourself,

not just something you can do on a Sunday because

we have the skills, but we need to honor God

with the gifting that He has given to us. Yeah.

Or we encourage people to go for missions. If you

go out there to missions, you will realize that the

need is big out there. And then when you're used

by God, you realize, wow, I didn't know that I

can actually do this. I didn't know I can speak

in another language. Right, And that's again getting out of

your comfort zone. Yeah, So the leven, this is what

we actually need. So without the leven, the door doesn't

rise without the leven in our lives, we will remain

stagnant and flat. Yeah. So as we talk about this

tree l right, the laws, the leaders, and also the leven,

how can you relate to it? How does it resonate

with you? Yeah? Think about it, just reflect on it

because when we speak about the loss, how what is

my desire of reaching to the loss? Right? When I

speak about leaders, do I believe you're a leader? Yes?

If you're not, then do I believe that I can

actually still do what God has called me to do?

Am I answering the call? Right? And of course the

leaven is am I actually be in a position when

I'm answering the call to be sent out to get

out of my comfort zone so that I can see

the Kingdom of God actually growing, right, growing and building men? Right? So,

when we speak about the secret to real growth, we

spoke about the tree l They are mainly there to

kind of show us how to prepare ourselves towards discipleship. Right,

But when we speak about the secret to real growth,

all of this can only happen, Okay, when we have

radical obedience to God. That's the main foundation everything we do.

It shouldn't be this obedience because your leaders say so

or someone told me, But it has to happen with

radical obedience to God. Yeah. So the foundation in our

first twenty years as a church was radical obedience. Is

something that we have been teaching in church, right, radical obedience,

radical unity, and radical generosity. You remember that. Yeah, those

have been with us. You've been hearing this, I'm sure

from our pastors as well, and for the next twenty

years of our growth. Okay, what are we looking at

on top of all that? Was it's also radical ideas, right,

radical ideas our daily break. So the thing is that

we do is it getting us out of the comfort zone.

Like an example, I talk to you about small starting

small groups, right, and maybe you're saying, God, I want

to win the loss. I want to reach out to

my colleagues, and God is saying, why don't you just

gather some of your colleagues together, come together in prayer,

you know, and maybe you can invite one or two

colleagues who do not know the lot and you want

to just share something from the Bible. Right, that is

a radical idea. So God gives you something that's your

daily break at that point, and when you're faithfully doing it,

who knows, God opens the heart of the people. Remember,

we're not there to get them to accept Christ. That

is God's work. That's what the Holy Spirit does. He

convicts hearts, he oppens their hearts. Our work is just

to be faithful. We're just vessels. We're only the mouthpiece

to say, Eugene, Jesus loves you, or Eugene, why don't

you come to church? Why you don't come to home.

That's just my part to invite, to encourage. But when

he comes and listens to the word, then God works, right,

he works in the hearts of the people. So that

is radical ideas. Yeah, example, like I said, small groups

that you do radical initiatives, your tight okay, So what

can you actually do from your part to actually win souls, right,

to actually build God's kingdom. And then we have the

third one, which is called radical implementation, or we call

it the eleven okay, radical implementation okay, And this is

again about us stepping out of our comfort zone. So

remember we spoke about the three elders, now the laws,

the leaders, and the eleven right, But did you know

that this can also be a challenge to our vision.

Let's try to under how these three l here can

be a challenge if you're not careful about it or

if we don't come aligned together as a church. Right,

the first one is the loss. Okay. The greatest challenge

to our vision is that we can't achieve it. Okay,

to our vision is that we can't achieve it without

winning the lost lots of them. Yeah, I mean, how

we're going to grow the Kingdom of God, how we're

gonna share to them if we don't win the loss.

Try to understand that it's a challenge here. The church

isn't here in Malaysia just to look after the ten percent,

but to leaven all the ninety percent. Always have that vision.

Right In Duke nineteen ten, it says for the Son

of Man has come to seek and to save that

which was lost. When Jesus came to earth, it was

very clear about his mission from day one, right, he

was very clear about it, and in fact, he was

very intentional with his plan. He first went and made disciples,

and then he trained these disciples, and then he went

and prayed for people. He reached out to the loss.

He spoke to people who were marginalized by the committee. Right,

people pushed them away just because they were not fitting

in their outcasts, but Jesus didn't worry about all that

to him was my mission is to win the loss

because these are the people who need to know Christ. Yeah,

and so that's always been in God's in God's plan,

So you're in X. We also know that it's the

fifth w must. We spoke about the five ws last Sunday, right,

and God wants us to engage the fifth gear, right,

the fifth gear which is was the fifth gear witness, yeah, Witness,

and to take this vehicle up to maximum speed, you know,

before he returns. And that is why church, we are

doing this unpacking division because we want everyone to catch

It is about winning the loss, right, It is about

winning the loss and Jesus coming is really soon. When

we look at the times and things around us, right,

and we want to do this fifth w right, we're

going to do it well. Yeah, And we've got to

ask questions to ourselves whether are we riding on this

And maybe some of us may have to prepare ourselves

in different ways. Maybe you've got to know the world

of God better, or you've got to just build your confidence.

You know you've got to just ask someone for guidance

or encouragement. But I think we all need to play

our part to win and to witness for Christ. Amen.

So this is the challenge. Right. A church can die off.

We see a lot of churches sometimes in especially different

parts of the world. They just close down or they

die off because you know, the older people I've passed

on and the young generation just don't feel the need

of going to church. We see the smaller, smaller states

sometimes and then one day you go the church is

no longer there. Yeah, a church can die off if

we don't keep on winning the loss. Right, if you

don't keep activating and telling people this is what church

is all about, especially for a younger generation. Our young

people need to really know why am I in church?

What was the reason become to church?

For?

Yeah, not because you grew up as a Christian, That's why.

It's part of life. But can you actually tell your

friends if you're on campus and your friends he asks

a why do you always go to church on a Sunday?

What would your answer be? Well, because I enjoy being

in church? Is that what you want to say? Right?

Because I enjoy serving him? This is where I make

room for him? Is that a personal conviction? Right? So

can you see the urgency here? Church? If it's if

we don't play a part in this the laws, it's

going to be a challenge not just to X but

the whole Kingdom of God itself. Yeah, so let that

be our prayer this year. Yeah, for the laws. And

then of course we have the second is the leaders,

which can also be a challenge because we can't do

without leaders and laborers, right, we can't do without leaders

and laborers. That is why you know in Matthew nine

thirty seven to thirty eight, what the the scripture tells

us The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore,

pray the lot of the harvest to send out laborers

into the to his harvest. Why do you think is

it mentioned the scripture itself that the harvest is plentiful,

but the laborers are few because there's always a need, right,

People are sometimes there or not there, or they're moving around.

But if you talk about the needs that are out there,

there's just plentiful. If you walk on the street, you'll

see there's so many people who still don't know the gospel.

They don't even know what the Bible is. They don't

know why we do certain things in church. Well, you

celebrate Christmas, but what is the meaning of it? You

celebrate Easter? Is it just bunnies or what's the meaning

of it? Right? And to me, Easter carries a very

big significance. And if you can only share that story

to someone, how powerful is that? Because no other faith

talks about resurrection, right, no other faith talks about sending

your one and only son. And if you can share

that story, how powerful is that? Yeah? And so I

pray that if you're seated here today, you will underswer

the call so that we don't become a church where

we're always looking for laborers, not just a church. Like

I said, the Kingdom of God as a whole, right,

but there's always people who are availing themselves to build

His house together. Right, And it is everyone's, everyone's responsibility,

not just one, not just two, but all of us.

And you can imagine how it would be like if

everyone answers the call. Yeah. So the problem has not

always been about the harvest, but the harvesters. We were

never thought to pray for harvests, but to pray for laborers. Yeah, laborers.

So in Matthew four nineteen it says then he said

to them, follow me, and I will make you fishes

of men. So when God calls us as his laborers,

and God calls us as his leaders and servants, it

is not just a man calling you, but his Jesus himself,

because the scripture tells us here that if you follow me,

I will make you fishes of men. I will equip you.

So that's time when we answer the call. It's not

about us feeling whether am I ra I might equipped

enough or what is the right timing, But the question

is about whether am I following Christ? If I'm following Christ,

if I understand why he's calling me, I'm just gonna

say yes, Lord, I'm not gonna wait. Yeah, because it's

God himself who has called this amen, right, So the leaders.

So let's be a church where people are just answering

the call, no matter what each no matter what background,

you're just saying, you know, I want to serve and

you will never grow Tiet. I pray that you will

not grow Tiet. Sometimes as we I you know, when

I speak with friends, so you know, sometimes when we're

so caught up with career or when life gets on

and then we feel like, hey, maybe I should take

a step back, or maybe I should take a break

and let the younger ones take on. I hope that

not doesn't be the case for us, because we've just

got to learn the redom of serving right. How do

you take rest in the Lord? How do you serve?

And that is why the scriptures goes back to time

of the time saying to rest in me, take my

yoke right, So meaning Jesus himself kind of showing us

the rhythm of you know, working and resting. Jesus himself

had his own time where he did his ministry right.

He went to plow the land to pray for the sick,

and then there were times that he went by himself

to the hills to pray because he knew he needed

his cup to be filled. Yeah, and that is something

that we got to learn as a church to not

be you know, we just go without an aim. You know,

we just keep doing and doing and doing, but we

don't get our cups filled right, And this is something

we always remind our leaders as well, how is your

quiet time? We can keep serving the House of God

we can keep showing up on a Sunday, but how

is our quiet time every other day? Because if you're

not feel then don't talk about coming to the front

and serving, because I don't think God even wants that.

He wants you to first have a relationship with him.

It's not about just holding on to the title or

serving a dream teams because there's a neat, but you've

got to first be filled. Yeah, the world teaches us

about you know, work life balance. You know you've got

to have two different breaks. But what I've learned is

sometimes just finding the rhythm. If you work in the morning,

then you need to rest at night. There's the reason

why God made Sunday. I mean that the sunrise and

the sun set. Yeah, but the world has gone so

chaotic when we also work when the sun is setting,

we are still on our phones until midnight, and then

we wonder why it's so hard to wake up the

next day for church, Right, because we forgot the rhythm. Yeah,

if you can only follow how God created the heavens

and the earth, that's the reason why he had that

day of rest after creating everything. We've got to also

find tune with that because if not you know, we

hear that a lot if you're in church long enough

or burn out in serving for a while. I feel burnout,

But I think it's good to ask ourselves, why are

we feeling burnout? Why are we feeling burnoun Yeah, so

let's have a hard check. I know it's the beginning

of the year and we're you know, like, Okay, let's

do this. You're motivated. But I pray that we'll keep

this momentum as we go that by the middle of

the year we're not feeling all tired, because, like I said,

we've got to find our rhythm in the lot. Yeah,

in the lot. Amen. Yeah. So that's the leaders and

of course the third challenge. It can also be the

leaven Okay, where the greatest challenge is that we can't

do without the leven, meaning the sending out right, We've

got to keep sending. So in Romans ten thirteen to fifteen,

it says, for whoever halls on the name of the

Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on

him in whom they have not believed, And how shall

they believe in Him of whom they have not heard?

And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how

shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written?

How beautiful are the feet of those who push the

gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things? Amen.

So it's very logical here, right. How is someone going

to call in the name of the Lord if they

have not heard it from someone? How are they going

to know that there's Jesus who can say if we

don't tell them. It's not something that people just know.

Not Everyone grow up in communities where they know what

or who Jesus is, right, and so it is simple

as just answering the call to be sent out them.

So if someone calls you and say, hey, there's a

in this community, who do you want to go? I

pray that you will say yes, because there's a need

out there. The community needs to know Christ. If only

you go yeah. If someone says he it's missions, why

don't you sign up? I pray that you will say yes, yeah,

because then you are sent out there to be a

mouth piece for that tribe or people group may who

have not experienced Christ for themselves. Yeah. So the eleven.

The eleven is also about discipline, right discipline. In one

Corinthians nine twenty six to twenty seven. It says, therefore

I run thus not with uncertainty. Does I fight not

as one who beats the air, But I discipline my

body and bring it into subjection. Liz, when I've preached

to others, I'm a self should have become disqualified. Right,

So the scripture here tells us about I fight as

not the one who beats the air. Have you seen

someone beating the air? You can never do that, But

do you think that sometimes we live our lives doing

that finding reasons and no aim, or we're wondering why

are we doing what we're doing, what's the purpose? But

it all goes back to discipline. Our Christian life is

a lot about being disciplined. Right. If you think about

coming to church on Sunday, don't you think it's discipline?

If I'm not, I can just be anywhere else. Right.

If you talk about serving, it takes discipline. You've got

to wake up in the morning and prepare all like

I said, throughout the week, You've got to do certain things.

If you talk about your quiet time, right, isn't that

discipline as well? You've got to wake up a certain time,

You've got to open the Bible and read though you

don't enjoy reading, but you find ways to do that,

whether you listen to audio or you read devotionals. All

those things are discipline. So what I'm trying to say

is that this level here is not just a shortcut

or there's no easy route to wit because Jesus didn't,

God didn't take an easy root for us. He had

to send He's signed for us, right, and the same

thing for us to keep this fire burning, the spark

going on, it takes discipline. If you ask anyone out

there who is successful what they do, not just in

the certain things of church, right, anyone out there, It

takes a certain level of discipline, right, And I pray

that that would be our our our you know, a

longing or something that we want to pursue ourselves to do,

which is to be disciplined with how we live our

lives for the Lord. Right. It's not about Okay, if

I feel it, then I do it. If I feel

I want to talk to God, I talk to him.

It shouldn't be that way. It should be always if

you want to feel him, if you want to answer

the call right, if you want to be used by him,

if you've heard stories of people, you know, like I

met this person and I prayed for them, and you

know they did accept the crisis. Or I had a

word and I encourage that person. How do you think

they can have those kind of stories. It's because they're

so tune in with the Lord. Right. You have such

a quiet time with God that you can actually listen

to his voice. And so the next time you meet someone,

they say, hey, why don't you tell Richard this? Right?

And he feels encouraged, or it's a word that I

needed because you're so tuned in. Yeah, Richard may not

know the discipline that you've had, but God knew because

you kept speaking to God time of the time, and

that's why He gave you that message. Right, And the

different roles that God has called you to answer, whether

you're a parent, whether you're a student or a young adult,

whatever it is, God can give you that fresh anointing,

that fresh guidance if you only ask the lot, say God,

I need this wisdom to speak to my child. It's

not easy, but God help me, and he helps. Yeah,

he helps, but it takes a certain level of discipline.

So the level here is the doing right is the

doing where it's about the execution doing it, the implementation, right,

having the momentum. That's why we say it's a discipline.

You cannot just do it today and then you don't

want to read tomorrow. Then how right if you want

to take up a spot. So if you want to run,

I know Eugene is running a lot lately, right, I'm

sure you had to build a momentum. Right. Ah, one

day you say I don't want to run, I'm sure

the next week it's going to be harder to to

run again. Right, And remember, like how the scripture tells

we are running a race, right, as believers, we are

called to run, you know. And it's not just as

short hundred meters run and you're win a medal, Right,

but it's a marathon. So do you know that the

momentum is so important, The pace is so important. Your preparation,

your diet. You can't just eat KFC and then think

of winning a marathon the next day. You have got

to eat the right diet right to be well, to

be healthy. Right, Momentum, the habit. Yeah, it's about having

a custom. It's about having the culture. And that's why

we're building in X, Right, and so this is what

we mean by eleven year is an action, it's a doing,

and we all play a part in it. Right. And

as we go through these different point is I hope

you would have some time throughout the week to this

reflection and ask yourself how does this play? How does

this connect to my every day? Okay? If I talk about,

for example, momentum, what is my momentum like in the

things of God? Right, if it's serving him or if

it's coming to church or you know, or my quiet

time with the Lord? How is my pace like? Do

I need to keep up to it? Do I need

to get better in it? Right? Because all of us

are in different phases and different journey of our faith. Yeah,

take time to reflect because if not, these things may

not mean anything. Yeah until you take some time to

take down notes, reflect and ask the Lord. Yeah, because

this would be a good time to kind of apply

this on our lives. So like the reflection question here,

he tells us, what are some of the habits or

customs that would make you an effective laborer? Yeah? What

is some customs or habits that would make you an

effective labor simple as maybe a habit of sleeping earlier.

It can be simple as that to cut down my

video game time, right, so that instead of three hours

maybe okay, one hourlla okay? Or my doom scrolling of

Instagram okay, maybe it's so hard to stop suddenly, right okay,

Then instead of like the whole hour, just for a while, okay,

Then slowly, slowly you will learn how to completely remove it,

you know, So what are those habits? Can be simple things,

and you know those things can actually make a whole

big difference. Simple as sleeping early, you'll be so much

more a lit You won't fall asleep in church the

next day? Do you know the difference? And then you

will listen to God's word, and God's wood will bring

transformation to your life. Your Monday will be different. Can

you see the impact on it? Just buy sleeping early,

two hours earlier. Maybe if it's twelve, you're sleeping ten o'clock. Yeah,

simple decisions like that makes a whole big difference, right,

a whole big difference. Changing to your diet. If you

like to binge snack and then this year you're thinking no,

I want to eat well, then you fall sick lesser, right,

you feel healthier, You can you know you feel more

active the next day? Simple habits, right? So what is it?

So can you see how church? You know, we're not

just getting to the whole spiritual part of it, like

you know what the Bible says. Those things are good important,

but it always goes back to us as well, because

the word of God stays on, it's promised, it remains.

God is there, He's always present. But what changes us? Right?

Whether am I consistent? Am I doing what I need

to do? Right? So we've got to make those decisions

to be effective laborers of rice. Yeah, so that's what

we're trying to get you to understand. So imagine the

day when witnessing, soul winning, disciple making, leader producing and

even Daniel releasing becomes a momentum, a habit, a culture,

and a custom. Right. So meaning witnessing is just part

of you. When you meet someone, you share your story,

right or as a church extra us, you know, every

initiative that we do, we are thinking of who can

I invite to church? And I want to make sure

that this person is a pre believer, so there it's

something new for them. They can hear the gospel, right,

So it's part of all momentum disciple making. You know,

when we journey with others, you know we are sharing.

We're being intentional. We're not just talking about how good

the food is, but we're talking about life. We're talking

about how we can be better as children of God.

Right leader, producing Daniel. When we talk about Daniel, release,

you're always talking about releasing people who are equipped. If

you know the story of Daniel, he was in this

foreign land, but yet he stood out because he was

taking the right diet. He knew what was his calling.

He had all kind of distractions, but he's still still

and strong for the lot. Right, and we want to

send out Daniels into the marketplace. We want to send

out Daniels into the world to answer the call. Yeah,

and imagine how the Kingdom of God will be like

if we do all of this right, and we will

see so many more being win for Christ. Do we

all want that? Yes? So I am unsure. Yeah, I

hope that's our prayer. Some of us may still have

families who we are praying for their salvation. Yeah, and

let's pray that this will be that year that we

will be bold enough to pray for them, bold enough

to say that Jesus loves you, right, Can I pray

for you? Yeah, it's just the boldness that we need

to ask the Lord. Yeah, So let's desire for that.

Let's have that vision as a church. Yeah. And that's

where God wants to get us. That's where he wants

to position us. And that is about getting our house

in order, rebuilding the walls, hanging up the gates. That's

what we want to leave for our next generation. Okay,

And we are aiming towards twenty thirty. Right. We are

in twenty twenty seven, and we have some years to go, right,

And it's about making our house in order. So if

you're here in extra us, if you call this your home,

ex church, what is your part that you can play

to build God's kingdom? Yeah? How can we rebuild this

place together once again so that we can go after

the vision that God has given to us. Amen. Yeah.

And of course the last part here you'll see even

in your booklet here, Okay, it says about the implementation, right,

God's diet. It's all about interpretation. Daniel leaved On. We

talked about Daniel just now right on vegetables water for

ten days and became stronger and fatter. This is the

way God wants asks to fulfill our purpose to live

on God's diet. So maybe you need to do that.

You're telling, okay, God, I just want to set apart

these ten days too fast to pray to build on

that diet or the next ten days or they say,

we say twenty one days right to build a habit,

and you want to take these twenty one days to

wake up at six and do my quiet time right,

and every other day you do that, you're building a habit.

And that is when you download from the Lord, God

speaks to you, and then you can actually share it

to those around you. Yeah. So a diet wreaking God's

die it down would mean daily bread, which is the ideas. Okay,

making a list, which is to download from the Lord.

And next we always listen, believe in pray, listen and obey.

So when you pray, you want to listen from the Lord.

You're not tune into his voice. You're not tune into

his word, right, and when he says to do something,

you answer the call you obey. Yeah, so it's the

daily bread is the tide, which is your initiative making

a commitment. So once you download, it's important to make

a commitment where you upload to God and God says, okay,

go formations, go to this place. God has been putting

designation in your heart for a while now right, And

then you say, okay, God, I want to commit to you.

I don't know how the finance is gonna come or

I need to apply leave, but I'm just gonna surrender

to you. Yeah, and of course the leaven comes in.

It's just the implementation, which is to make it count.

So how do we be accountable? Maybe you sign up

for missions first, or you talk to someone about it,

your leader, and you say no, I want to go.

For example, Chiang Mai has been in my heart. I've

been praying, yeah, and someone prays along with you. And

that is commitment. So we don't just do it and

think about it and maybe later, but there's a commitment

that we make as well, and God honors that. Yeah.

There many times that sometimes you know I want to

do something, but like, oh how maybe finances is not

there yet the time. But when God sees your heart,

he makes room, he open doors and things happen. Yeah,

but we've got to put the action implementing it Okay.

So that is how it works. The daily bread, your ideas,

the initiative, which is making the commitment, and then the leven,

which is to make it count. Right. So these are

the five steps in God's diet, okay, and I will

slowly invite extreme forward. Okay. These are the five steps.

Which is firstly to make a list. And I hope

that anything else that you learn today, this is something

that you will aim to do right as you hit home,

making a list, making a commitment to it, making it count,

which is putting an action to it right, making time

to help others. Yeah, making time to help others. And

what's important is that you remember the vision always right,

Like how they say the heart of the matter is

so the vision is what this lost helping people believe

that something we hold on to as a church so

that they all hurt earth will be filled with the

goodness of the lot. Right. So if you can just

get this right in our minds, in our hearts, God works. Yeah,

God works in mysterious ways. Vision is about taking dominion, right,

That's why we share the vision. When we unpack the vision,

we are taking dominion of what God has given to us.

Mission is building disciplaship. So how do we achieve the

vision is by making disciples. Mission is always an action, right,

we make disciples, we do something about it. How do

we do it? Direction? The direction is we use the

example of Daniel, the Daniel diet, you know, making a

commitment and then the focus is, of course the diet.

Cause is discipline with everything comes a course. Yeah, but

everything comes a course. So there are some questions here.

Something that you can take it is a very personal

reflection that we've got to do for yourself. In fact,

I can encourage you to even do it with a friend. Okay,

with a friend next to you, or a hoe meet,

you can even talk about it with them. What is

my heart for the loss? Yeah? What is my heart

for the loss? We heard so much today about winning

the loss that that's always been God's plan, That's why

he sent Jesus, Right, But what is my heart for

the loss? Because it has to be your own personal commitment. Right.

The church can keep on preaching about it, we can

do all kinds of conferences, all kinds of conversations we

can have, but until and unless it comes from myself,

it's not gonna work. Yeah, So what is my heart.

Who is it that I have in mind? What am

I going to do tomorrow? Let's not talk about what

we're gonna do next month, but tomorrow. What's that one

thing I can do for that? What are my challenges

in being called to lead others? Is there some things

that you have in your mind that I'm thinking like, Hey,

can I do this? I'm not talking about this being

a leader. And you talk about leaders leading, but all

of us, what are those setbacks that we have to do?

Thinks that we're not good enough? Or am I having

any kind of fear you know, or feeling rejected if

I lead others? Yeah? What are those fear? In fact,

when we talk about leading, being called to lead others,

it can also be within your own community. And we

talk about being a parent leading your children, you know,

being a sibling, an elder sibling leading a younger one,

or in your marketplace being a leader, and there are

things that you sometimes are worried about. What can I

do with those under my care? Yeah? So what is

it that you're struggling or wrestling with and what is

that one discipline that I want to work on? Yeah,

we're trying to help you break things down so that

you can internalize it for yoursel health and take action.

What is that one discipline It can be, like I said,

simple as your quiet time, right, because if you can't

do even your time with the Lord, like I said,

don't talk about serving him yet, because you've got to

understand who you're serving. You've got to understand why you're serving,

not because there's a need. God will always have a

way of feeling in that need if it's not you, right,

But what he wants is first, can you sit in

the feet of the Lord and see him as your

above father? Would you be able to realize that his

love is for you even if you don't work for it.

It's already been given to you. It's not something that

we've got to work for. Some of you may need

to come to a place of realizing that. Yeah, so

that's for session for today. Right. You realize that there's

a lot of things to remember, notes and all that,

but it all goes back again to myself, my conviction,

my heart for the loss right and to win that loss,

I've got to first give something right, And sometimes it's

about giving something that's so close to you, Like I said,

your time, something that finds you find pleasure in it,

but God is asking you to give it up so

that you can spend time with someone, right, or you

can spend time talking to him instead. Yeah, what is it? Right?

Are we good? Church? Yeah? Take time?
