How Does Revival Happen? | Pr. Gloria

We hope this message will light up your day.

So let's get into the word. Okay, I'm sure most

of you would have known if you've been listening to

our sermons the team for this year would be revival. Right.

And when we hear this word revival, it's not a

word that we use every day, right, unless you ask

your friend liw you revived today? It's not a common

question or a conversational word that we use, right. But

I think as believers, it's very important that we get

familiar with what revival is because I believe that that

is what God wants for us. Yeah, not just as

a church or a nation, but even as individuals, because

all those big things will never happen if we don't

first get revived within us. Am I right? Yeah? Revive

in the sense our hearts ketch this spirit. You know,

our minds are revived and renewed. You know, we know

the power of the Word of God. Right. Only when

all those things happen we can truly feel and sense

what revival is all about. Yeah, And it takes all

of us to see revival happen. Am I right? Yeah,

because it's the church that does this together. Yeah. So

today we're going to be drawing from a familiar Bible

story which to most of us I believe, or if

you're new here, then we will be reading God's word. Yeah,

and we're going to be understanding what revival is. How

does revival happen? Okay, how does revival happen? And revival

happens when you actually can recognize the call of God

in your lives? Yeah, because if you don't realize that, oh,

this is what I have, okay, or this is the

power that God has given me, we wouldn't be able

to leave it out as well, am I right? Yeah?

And unless you have you believe that, okay, I have

this gifting or I have this ability, then we will

leave it out. And the same thing is with revival

as well. Until and unless you know who God is

in your lives, right in our lives only, then we'll

be able to tap into what God has been doing. Yeah.

And so we're gonna draw from this story from First Samuel,

chapter seventeen. Do you have your Bibles? Yeah? Okay, please

turn to your to First Samuel and let's read God's

Word together. Okay. And part of being revived is also

when you can respond to the word of God, right,

say your amens, say hallelujah. You're saying it to the Lord, right,

and we're just taking God's word in as we say

that as well. Yeah, so we're gonna read from First

Samuel chapter seventeen. Okay, it's the story about David. Okay,

and this this young guy David, who actually fought this

giant goliath, right, which most of us would be familiar,

but which you're just going to try to understand how

David recognized the call of God in his life in

the midst of seems so impossible in the eyes of men, right,

Everyone thought that he would not be able to fight

through the battle and to fight this big, giant goliath, right,

but he still could do it. And we're going to

try to just understand what does revival mean from this story. Okay,

So let's just read and understand a little bit about

what happened in this context. Yeah. So First Samuel, chapter seventeen, Okay,

I'm just going to read a bit of a background

so that you know what took place. Yep. So from

verses one, it says, now the Philistines gathered their armies

together to battle, and were gathered at Socha, came between

Soka and Ezica. In Fies Damm and Saul and the

men of Israel were getted together, and they encamped in

the valley of Ella and drew up in battle array

against the Philistines. The Philistines stood on a mountain on

one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the

other side, with a valley between them was four and

a champion went out from the cam of the Philistines

named Goliath from God, whose height was six cubits and

a spin. Well in our language, it will be about

nine feet anyone nine feet here, you wouldn't have entered

the doors, right, Okay, nine feet nine Asia. He had

a bronze helmet on his head, and he was armed

with a coat of male and the weight of the

court was five thousand shackles of browns. I think that

explains how big and strong this guy was. Yea. And

he had bronze armor on his legs and a bronze

javelin between his shoulders. Now, the staff on his spear

was like a weaver's beam, and his iron spearhead with

six hundred shackles, and a shoe bearer went before him.

Then he stood out and cried to the armies of

Israel and said to them, why have you come out

to line up for battle? Am I not a Philistine?

And you, the servants of Saul, choose a man for

yourselves and let him come down to me. Right. So,

just setting the contexts right for those who maybe listening

to this story for the first time. They are in

a battle, okay, and then this opposing party already has

someone to fight, okay, so is They're all strong and

tough and ready to fight. And then we have the

other side who is actually wondering who's going to actually

come and fight okay, because they're all scared and worried

about what this giant is actually going to be doing

to them. Yeah. And then as we read on, okay,

let's look at versus let's see okay, versus eleven, right,

versus eleven of the same chapter. Now, when Saul and

all Israel heard these words of the Philistines, they were

dismayed and greatly afraid. So you can just imagine with

me the whole situation of the crowd. Right. So we

have a big giant in front of us. We're all scared.

We're all afraid. We don't know what's going to happen. Yeah. Now,

David was the son of that Ephorite of Bethlehem Judah,

whose name was Jesse, and who had eight sons, and

the man was all advanced in years in the days

of Saul. The three oldest son of Jesse had gone

to follow Saul to the battle. The names of the

Tree who went to battle were Eliop, the firstborn next

to him was Ebin Adept, and the third Shama. David

was the younger and the tree oldest followed Salt. So

how many of you knew what was David's occupation? A shepherd? Yes,

all right, So a shepherd will be taking care of

the sheeps, right, taking care of his flock. So he

was the youngest, I mean youngest. We can can imagine

how maybe tiny and smaller he were from the others. Right,

So all these other Tree brothers they went, they were

in the battleground, they were with Salt, you know, and

so they would have seen what's going on. They're aware.

But David was having a different assignment. Okay, he was

there taking care of his flock. But on that particular day,

his father actually sends him to bring something to the brothers, right,

and so this is when this young guy actually sees that, oh,

this actually something going on, because you can imagine, right,

if it's a battle, then people all gethered, the crowd

is gathered, maybe they're all just chearing different ones. And

then we have Goliad who might be just bolsting about

how strong he is and who's going to and fight.

So this whole havoc situation going on. And so then

David is just curious wondering what's going on, right, and

so that is when he gets into the hole scene

as well. Yeah, all right, now let's look further on

in the coming in the following scriptures. Okay, so let's

look at versus twenty. So David rose early in the morning,

left the sheep with the keeper and took the things

and went as Jesse had commanded him. And he came

to the camp as the army was going out to

the fight and shouting for the battle for Israel and

Philistines had drawn up in battle array army against army,

and David left his supplies in the hand of the

supply keeper, ran to the army and came and greeted

is brats. Then he asked, Then he talked with them.

There was the champion the Philistines of God, Goliath by name,

coming up from the armies of the Philistine and he

spoke according to the same words. So David hurt them

and all the men of Israel when they saw the

man fleet from him, and they were dreadfully afraid. So

the men of Israel said, have you seen this man

who has come up? Surely has come up to defy Israel.

And it shall be that the man who kills him,

the King will enriched with great riches, will give him

his daughter, and give his father's house exemptions from Texas

in Israel. That's really a reward, right, okay. Then verses

twenty six. Then David spoke to the man who stood

by him, saying, what shall be done for the man

who kills the Philistines and takes away the reproach from Israel?

For oh, is this uncircumcised Philistines that he should defy

the armies of the Living God. And the people answered

him in this manner, saying, so shall it be done

for the man who kills him? Now what happens in

verses twenty eight. Now Eliot, his oldest brother, hurt when

he spoke to the man, and Eliab's anger was arose

against David, and he said, what did you come down here? Okay,

this big brother who is upset, was trying to take

care maybe of his youngest brother. David, what are you

doing here? People all want to fight. There's so much

of anger, so much of tension, right, and you're supposed

to be taking care of your flock, but you are

here so curious, asking all kind of questions. Okay, Then

what happens in verses twenty nine, And David said, okay,

what have I done now? Is there not a cause? Yeah?

Then he turned from him to it another and said

the same thing. And these people answered him as the

first ones did. So they're all not bothered to answer him.

They just wanted to get rid of him, right, thinking

that he's not of any use in this scene, in

this situation. Yeah, versus twenty one. Now, when the word

which David spoke were hurt, they reported them to Salt,

and he sent for him. Then David said to Saul,

let no man's heart fall because of him. Your servant

will go and fight with this philistine. You just take

a moment. Think about this young guy, David and what

he said. Would any of you say that when your

brothers said no, you shouldn't be here, and then this

whole big giant this year, and then this young guy

comes and says to Saul, let me be the one

who goes and fight. Think about what kind of a

person he would have been. Right, he was not afraid

of his physical situation. I mean, we don't know the Bible,

didn't alty had muscles or whatsoever. But we can imagine

for his age and what he was doing, you wouldn't

have been that huge of a person. Yeah, it could

be tough, but maybe not so huge. But I just

can't help but to think about what would have been

David's mind, or the kind of courage that he had

to actually say, Hey, you know what, I will go

and fight this guy. Right, And I can't help but

to think about how that is what revival looks like

when you can actually see the need that's before you,

despite it looks so impossible, but because there's just the need,

I need to write up. I need to do this,

and I'm sure as you read on the scriptures later

you will see that David did not go just because

he think he could fight, but because he remembered who

got this in his life. Yeah, and that is what

I believe is revival. Yeah. Now let's read more a

little Moost passage, and then we will go on to

a couple of pointers. Yeah. So now David said to Saul,

your servant used to keep. Let's look at versus thirty three. Okay,

let's read thirty three again, and saw say to David,

you're not able to go against the Philistine, to fight

with him, for you are a youth, and he a

man of war from his youth. But David said to Saul,

your servant used to keep his father's sheep. And when

a lion or a bear came and took a lamb

out of the flock, I went out after it and

struck it and delivered the lamb from its mouth. And

when it arose against me, I caught it by its

beard and struck and killed it. Your servant has killed

both lion and bear, and this uncircumcised philistine will be

like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies

of the living God. So this guy has already envisioned

in his mind speaking about envisioning, Right, this guy already

had a vision. Okay, this is how gold is going

to end up, you know, date in my hands, right,

that is how he saw it. Then versus thirty seven,

it says moreover, David said, the Lord who delivered me

from the paw of the lion and from the paw

of the bear, he will deliver me from the hand

of the Philistine. And Saul say to David, go and

the Lord be with you. Yeah, So you can see

how David acknowledge that this is the same God who

actually delivered me from all these tough times, right, it

is the same God that goes before me. Yeah. And

that is what revival is. It is not just so

much about what I can do in my own effort,

because as humans, if you're gonna be real, we're gonna

be honest, how much can we do? We are very limited.

You know, we can't show up. We can see the need,

but what's going to come after that? And that's what

David knew, right, This can only before, This can only

happen because the Lord is with me. And he remembered that, Yeah,

remembered that. So as we read on the passage, if

you've not read the whole story, or encourage you to

read the whole chapter. Yeah, you'll see that Saul actually

tells David to put on his armor, right, he put

on your armor, and then you can go and fight.

But if you try to put the armor, about what happens?

It falls off because this guy is small. At from

that we can know that he's not that big of

a person, right, So you're trying to put it. Okay,

maybe it was just to lose, and when he was walking,

things were falling off, right, and so he decided to

remove it. And then he went forward with what he

was so used to doing every other day as a shepherd, right,

he picked up stones and he just went with that. Yeah,

and then it's true calling when you know who you are,

who's your identity in the lot? Right, because we can

all have you know, you know the same calling, which

is to serve the lot. But at the same time,

we are created very differently. The gifting that God has

given us, the capacity that God has given us, the

different experiences that you have in your life, the stories,

your testimonies, they're all very different because it meets different

needs and different seasons. And to me, David could recognize

that he didn't just wanted to put up a show.

If he wanted to show everyone how strong he was,

you could have just wore the armor and just go forward.

But that would have been a failure because by the

time he was trying to tighten the armor that he

was wearing, Gola, I would have, you know, through something

to him. Yeah, but he knew what he could do

and what he could not, right, he went on with

that strength and he won the battle. Yeah. So let's

just draw a couple of pointers from what we have

read from the passage, and I would likely to also

reflect on our own lives. Yeah, because revival can mean

very different to most of us. It's either you know,

you've been long enough and in church you've been serving,

then revival is something you have heard. But maybe some

of us who are here may just need a revived heart. Yeah,

you caught it some time ago, and then something happened,

and then it faded away, and then maybe now God

is saying, a child, I think it's time for you

to step up to revive. Yeah. So, as you hear

these different pointers that I'm going to share with you,

why don't you just take a hard check of your

own lives because only you know what season you're in, right,

and allow God to minister to you through this.

Ye.

Now, the first thing is that revival happens when you

see through your spiritual lens. Right, Only when you see

through your spiritual lens, because when we just look look

at things through our naked eyes, our physical eyes, we

can only see what's in front, right, we can only

see just that because you're very limited as humans. Yeah,

but if you can look through the spiritual lens, like

what David did, he didn't see or what he was

capable of doing and all that, but you could see

through how God has enabled him. God has you know,

led him all these years. And he didn't allow those

day to day of what he did as a shepherd, right,

he didn't allow those experiences just be nothing. But he

recognized that those experiences was given so that he can

actually accomplish what God wanted him to do on that

very day. Yeah, so he remembered how he fought the best,

what he was doing, you know with the flocks, right,

so he could remember all those things. Yeah. So it

revival happens when you see through your spiritual lens observing

the needs that are in front of you. Until and

unless we don't see right the needs that are there.

I mean, we're not going to reach out to that person.

We're not going to answer that call. Right. You can

be facing that one colligue every other day telling them, hey,

good morning. But if you don't choose to say, God,

can you help me see this person the way you

want me to see? Then maybe you got to say,

why don't you just getting coffee in the morning because

he may just need that encouragement, right, or just ask

him house life and have a conversation or go at

lunch with him. Right. That would only happen when you

can open and see things beyond the way we just

usually see, because if not, we can get so caught

up with our own lives. Yeah, and efficients one eighteen

it says, Yeah, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened,

that you may know what is the hope of his calling?

What are the riches of the glory of his inheritance

in the scenes. Yeah, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened.

When it's enlightened, then you may know what is the

hope of his calling. And that is why sometimes some

people can just catch it right, they catch it. They

go for it, even when circumstances doesn't seem to be

you know how it is, would it work out right?

But you just go after it. Psal one hundred and

nineteen eighteen says, open my eyes that I may see

wondrous things from your law right. And that is why

when you read the word of the Lord, we need

to ask and ask the Lord for an understanding, for

God to open our eyes to help us see his word,

to understand his word. Even books like the numbers or

due to not me that may seem like, oh, what

is this? There's so many laws and so many things

that may not be much applicable to where I am.

But when you ask the Lord for an understanding, to

open your eyes, he allows you to do that right,

to have a deeper understanding of it. Now Second quarantents

for eighteen while we do not look at the things

which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.

For the things which are seen are temporary, but the

things which are not seen are eternal. Right, are eternal.

So this world that we're living in, some of the

things that we pursue, they're all good stuff, right, but

it will not remain one day all of this will

fade away. But what remains is our faith, is our

salvation that remains towards eternity. Yeah, and I pray and

hope that as believers will if one thing you can

remember and hold on to is eternity. Why are we

pursuing this faith? Why are we living for the Lord?

Why are we accepting? What do we accept him as

our savior? Because there's so much more to life than

just the earth. Right, there's that salvation that we are pursuing,

you know, for his coming. Right, He's coming soon, am,

So that's that right? And in Matthew twenty five, No,

we know this scripture that it says in thirty five

to forty six. For I was hungry, you gave me food.

I was thirsty, you gave me drink. I was a

stranger and you took me in. I was naked and

you clothed me. I was sick and you visited me.

I was in prison and you came to me. Then

the writers will answer saying, Lord, when did we see

you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you

a drink? When did we see you a stranger and

take you in? Or naked and clothe you, or when

did we see you sick or in prison and come

to you? And the King will answer and say to

them assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did

it on one of the leaves of this, my brethren,

you did it to me. Then he will also say

to those on the left hand depart from me, you

curse into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and

his angels. But I was hungry and you gave me

no food. I was thirsty and you gave me no drink.

I was a stranger and you did not take me

in naked, You did not clothe me sick, and in prison,

you did not visit me. Then they also answer him, saying, Lord,

when did we see you hungry or thirsty, or a stranger,

or naked, or sick or in prison, and did not

minister to you. Then he will answer them, saying, assuredly,

I say to you, in as much as you did

not do it to one of the leads of this,

you did not do it to me. And these things

will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into

eternal life. That's the truth, Church, that's the truth. It's

what we do unto others. It's like how we're doing

it unto the Lord. Yeah, So if I may ask

you today, what are the needs that are in front

of you? Are we recognizing those needs? Are we seeing

others the way God wants us to see them? Right?

Not just with our own physical eyes. I mean it's

not easy to always love everyone, and especially difficult people. Right,

how do we still love? And you know all those

But then ask the Lord God, can you help me

to do that? Because in more, he that is difficult

to love is also a child of God? Right, and

there must be a reason why they're placed in your lives.

Right and until and unless we don't answer that call,

then that that just means you have not caught the

revival right to pursue what pleases the Lord. Yeah, so

are you able to see through your spiritual lens? And

if you're wondering what is this spiritual lens? Then it's

time to ask the Lord God. Can I not just

leave my life just for myself? Well, thank you Lord

for all the blessings and all that You're brought into

my life. But I also want to do it through

your Landslord, so I don't miss out what you are

showing me and what you're teaching me. Yeah, what do

you see around you that needs God's love and the gospel.

There's so many people out there who still don't know

the truth. Here we are enjoying church, enjoying fellowship, enjoying

serving right, But there are people out there who are

still wondering what life is. We are wondering where would

I go when I am called to be home? You know,

what's the meaning of life? I'm sure you've had conversations

like that with friends. Yeah. Can you be the one

that tells them, Hey, there's a good news. Can I

share with you my story of how I accepted the lot? Yeah?

Who are those people? What are the needs in your community?

And how can you help? Right? How can you use

your talents, your gifts to serve God's house? Right? Because

there's just so many needs. Maybe you are the answer

to that. Right, you may be the answer to that.

And so sometimes it's just a matter of God, can

you just show me My time doesn't seem to permit it.

I have so many things on my hands, But Lord,

can you just show me how to maybe be prudent

with the way I manage my time? What to say

yes to what to say no to, so that I

can make room for you. Because if you talk about

making time, I mean, I'm sure all of you have

our own busy schedules, things to do, and the list

never ends, right, But we just got to make time.

We just got to make time, especially if it's important

to you. If David didn't see the need of being

in the battle, you could have to just go back

to where he was supposed to be. I'm sure it

was much more calm and quieter with his flocks, right,

rather than being in the battlefield. But he still chose

to come out of his completely out of comfort in

his size, in his ability, in something he has not done.

But yet he went and did it anyway because he

saw that there was a need and he was able

to only do that when he saw things through God's eyes,

through God's lens. Yeah, So can I encourage your church

to do that when we go back tomorrow? Right, the

whole battle starts when we go back tomorrow. Actually, church

is still a happy place. Everyone is so nice to you, smiling, right,

But when you go to your workplace or to your schools.

When I say battle, I'm not saying it's challenges, but

doesn't need there. Right, people are there wondering and asking

and figuring out, and you can be that answer to them. Yeah.

A simple smile of yours or a simple conversation that

you have with someone goes a long way, right, goes

a long way. Yeah, So let's do that. Let's let

our mondays be different, like not just be a Monday blue.

It doesn't have to be blue. It can be orange,

it can be read, it can be anything. Okay, it

can be all those bright rainbow colors if you only

allow your days to be that way. Yeah, So let's

see things through God's eyes, Amena. Right. The next thing

is to remember and recognize what God is doing in

your life. Yeah, and this is what I mean that

maybe for some of us here we kind of need

to reignite their revival in our hearts. Right, we need

to reignite that fire, this winess. And how do we

do that is when you remember and you recognize what

God is doing in your life. Maybe in your younger

days you were so much more alive and saying yes

the Lord and doing things right for him. Or when

life hit you then different things came about. But Goda

be telling you today. You know what, you can still

do what you're called to do. It's not the matter

of h right, it's not the matter of can I

do it or can I not? We can all do

something for the lot. Yeah, I think a good example,

Bassendra pointed out. Also us and Teachaihung herself, Teacher Chai Houng.

I think she's the oldest of all of us, right,

but you look at how she takes care of our

kids energy. I'm sure we can all do that as well. Okay,

we can all have that same energy, right, So let's

reignite that revivalin us. Ask the Lord or remember God,

help me to remember maybe those things that I've forgotten

our accepted you as you know, my savior, or that

new camp that I went many years back. You know,

usually if you go for youth camps, you're all pumped

up and excited and bring to conquer the world, right,

and then when things come up, we tend to just

sometimes forget. But you know what, we can always come

back right to reignite that fire. Yeah, So let's not

just be walking out there without purpose. We all have

a purpose. Yeah, in your communities, in your workplaces and

your schools, we all have a calling, right, and I

believe that is why Charas is planted here. Okay, we

would have gone to a different hotel. You know, we

changed a few places because of situations and we couldn't

find a place. But what God doesn't remember doesn't forget.

He remembers why he calls us. He remembers why we

were planted into us so that we can save many

more lives, especially the young people. Yeah, and so we

may forget, but God does not forget. So if I

can encourage you to just remember those things that God

has been doing in your life, the testimonies that you have,

the encounters, the breakthroughth that God brought into your lives,

the time when you just stood at the altar and

you were feeling helpless, but when you fell and you

worshiped the Lord, God's presence came down and set you free.

Those things are not something that everyone feel every other day,

but you felt it, and that is revival. Right. But

if you walk out thinking that you know what God

has forgotten me, maybe it's time for you to come

back and remember. You know what, my child, this is

what I did for you. But the answer is sometimes us,

whether do we want to keep that fire burning, right,

because if we take that fire, if we take that

guilt candle to places where the fire can just be gone,

that's what's going to happen. But if you bring that

candle and if you take care of it, making sure

that that the fire keeps burning, it wouldn't go off. Yeah,

it's so, it's in our hands. And even more so

if you're with people who are passing on that fire

to you. You know how powerful is that? Right? Fellow believers,

fellow brothers and sisters in Christ who are edifying each other. Yeah.

And so for David, everyone said no to him. His

brothers didn't believe in him, soul doubted him and thinking

what are you going to do? And fight? But this

guy had a revival within him that no one else

could take that fire. He went by himself and said,

you know what, I'm going to do this, not even

in the armor that was given, but I'm just going

to do it. What i have stones, what I'm always

using every other day, I'm just going to use that

and fight the enemy. Yeah, So do not be little.

Your teachable moments, your experiences, your journey that God has

brought you through. Nothing happens in your life is wasted, right,

Everything happens for a reason. Yeah. Psalm seventy seven, verses

eleven to twelve, it says, I will remember the works

of the Lord. Surely I will remember your wonders of all.

I will also meditate on all your work and talk

of your deeds. The book of Psalms are filled with

all the reflections that David had. He keeps remembering what

God has done. I mean, there are moments you'll come

back and say God, it's difficult, right, But he goes

back and say, God, this is what you did for

me Thanksgiving, right, And so we need to catch that

hard as well, because to be real, we live in

a fallen world. So we can be so revived, we

can have that fire within us, but sometimes when you

go out there, it can be discouraging when people say

no to you. You right, you know, last week we

had a little bit of prayer walk that we did.

So we're going around giving out, you know, invitation cards

to come and join us for church. You know. So

while we do that, of course there were some who

said no, no, I don't want, right, No, I don't

want And then some looked a little bit discouraged. But

you know what, we just move on to the next person,

to the next person. I mean, what's the worst They

could tell you no, right and says okay, have a

nice day, move on to the next person. Right. And

that is how it is with life. Sometimes things work out,

sometimes it don't. But we just got to keep going

because we're not alone. God is with us. Amen, God

is with us. Center the person next to you and

say you are not alone. God is with you, right,

God is with you a man. Ephesians two ten. It says,

for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for

good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk

in them. So we are created for good works. That's

that's the first job. You know that God created you.

Or Deilia out there, a little baby, I'm sure she's

created for workmanship, right, for his purpose, just like all

of us. But sometimes when we get into adulthood and

life hits us, we tend to forget or we ask

what's a purpose? But all of you have a purpose.

So next time someone tells you what's my purpose, remind

them you are created for God's workmanship in whatever way

God has gifted you with. Yeah, so remember, Church, I

just want to give you a task to think about this.

How did you accept Christ? What's that story of yours? Yeah?

How did you encounter God in your life? Some of

you could be in a Christian family, but even then

you would have had your own personal encounter. Some of

you later on in years, then you discovered who God is. Right,

but remember, because it's a miracle to actually receive Jesus

as a savior, because there are many people out there

who have not even got the opportunity to hear the

good news. But you got it right, So remember those stories.

How has God led you through different challenges, different trials

in your life? Yeah? I know some of you are

sitting here. If it's not God, you would think I

wouldn't have been here. It's only true God. So isn't

it a story word sharing? Because there may be someone

out there who are going through the same situation or

the same struggle and they just needed to hear that

story to give them a sense of hope. Yeah, so

you could be that person that God is using you.

Count your blessings, Church, Count your blessings even in the

most mundane, your usual nine to five, going every other day,

even those days. God can use it for his glory. Yeah,

he can use it for his glory because I'm not

to show when David woke up in the morning on

that day of battle, did he actually think or know

that he was going to fight this big Goliad Because

the plan was different, right. He was just supposed to

go to the to his sheet, his flock. But his

father just so happened to him, you know what, I want,

you going to take this to your brothers, and just

so happened he was in the scene and he for

this big giant. Right. So the same thing can be

for any of us. You can just wake up on

an erea other day, going in our own way to

school or to work, and then something that's before you

that God is just calling you to answer or to do.

But if you're not ready, like David, we might just

miss that moment, right, we might miss that opportunity to

do His will, to touch someone's life and to experience

more of God. Yeah, so let's just be ready every

other day because God can just show up and he

all he wants is a bail arts, someone to just

say yes, I'm going to do it, not by my

own strength, but by the Lord. Amen. Right now. The

next thing that we can learn from David here and

this story is that in the days of revival, Okay,

you need to put on your armor. Yeah, we need

to put on your armor because when we talk about

you know, breakthroughs, and we talk about salvations or doing

the word of God. We can't do this by ourselves,

but we need to put on what the Lord has

given to us. Yeah. If we read Second Timothy one seven,

it says for God, it's not given a spirit of fear,

but of power, of love and sound mind. Yeah. Power,

God has already given it to you freely, by the

matter of whether we say yes, Lord, I take it. Right.

And if you read Ephicients chapter four, let's just look

at the scriptures here. Ephicients chap Chapter six, right, Ephicians

Chapter sick. This whole chapter here talks about the armor

of God. Yeah, okay, let's just read from Versus ten

Versus eleven. Put on the whole armor of God, that

you may be able to stand against the wells of

the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood,

but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness.

Of this age against spiritual holds or wickedness in the

heavenly places. Therefore, take up the whole armor of God,

that you may be able to withstand in the evil day.

And having done all to stand stand therefore, having girded

your waist and with truth, having put on the breastplate

of righteousness, and having showed your feet with the preparation

of the Gospel of Peace. Above all taking the shield

of faith, with which you'll be able to quench all

the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the

helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which

is the Word of God. So we are all equipped

with this armor. It's not just selected once. All of

you have it, right, But you've got to ask yourself

the moment you step out of your house. Do I

have the armor of God? Have I put it all on?

Right?

If you read your word, if you read God's word,

if you prayed in the morning, will you have the

armor of God because you have allowed the Lord to

take over? Yeah, even more so to put on the

armor of God that God has given you. That is

most important. Right. Just like David, he didn't bother putting

in the armor that Saul gave him because he knew

it's not gonna fit him. Yeah, so he used the

armor that God gave him, which is his gifting, his ability. Right.

And if you can ask yourselves today what has God

given you? What are those giftings that God has given you?

Can you go forward with that? Not comparing yourself with

someone else you but just going with your faith your journey.

You're calling that God has given you amen? Right, and

we can continue to just encourage each other as we

do that. Yeah. So do we have the armor of God?

Right?

Do we put on the armor of God as we

go forward? For those of you are serving who those

of you may be, you know, reaching out to different ones.

Always remember to first acknowledge God, right, remember what he

has been doing. And that is exactly what David did, right,

he remembered, this is what God helped me to fight

when you know, when I was in this with the flocks,

fighting the best and all that, and because of that

I can do this right, And so putting on the

armor is very important. Yeah. So do you believe that

God wants to use you? Yeah? Do you recognize the

gifts and talents that God has blessed you? With I

believe all of us have something to offer, right because

we were created. But that that's what we read the scriptures, right.

We are created for his workmanship. We are created in

his image. That means He's given all of us that gifting.

And the thing about these giftings are the more we

use it, the more sharper it gets. Right. But if

you just keep it to ourselves, then no one is

going to be able to see it. You wouldn't be

able to grow in it. Right. And we look at

our worship team, how beautifully they were singing and playing instruments.

I'm sure that a lot of practice and a lot

of singing, a lot of like God and doing this

unto you right, And that is when God uses your

gifting right, and seeing goes to every other ministry. The

more you do, the more God enables you to do it.

So you're sitting there feeling afraid, trying to look at

yourself at others and say, hey, this guy is singing

so well, I don't think I can sing like him

or her. Well, that guy started somewhere, and I'm sure

you will get there as well, if only you just

give yourselves a chance. Right. So let's do that right,

Let's put on the armor of God. Turn to the

person next to you and ask them, do you have

the armor of God? Okay, I hope he answers yes, yeah,

and put it on man all right. Now, drawing to

the final point that we can just learn from what

we read about David here, okay, or if we can

go back to first Samuel, Yeah, let's look at the

final statement that David actually says. Okay. So let's look

at versus forty six onwards right verse Samuel chatter seventeen

versus forty six. This day the Lord will deliver you

into my hand, and I will strike you and take

your head from you, and this day I will give Okay,

he mentions all this what he's going to do to

Goliath right now with this forty seven, then all this

assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with

sword and spear, for the battle is the lords, and

he will give you into our hands. So it was

when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to

meet David, that David hurrid ran toward the army to

meet the Philistine. Then David put his hand in his back,

took out a stone, and he slung it and struck

the Philistine in his forehead. So the stone sang into

his voheid and he fell on his face to the earth. Now,

this is what it means by knowing your gifting. I

think this guy David was pretty good in his aiming, right,

he knew where to aim. He didn't fight. I mean,

the fight did not happen so long. Right, It's just

that one strow of stone and Goliad fell. Okay, And

the same thing. You all have your own giftings, not

to throw stones, but gift things in serving the Lord, right,

and if you just use it the right way, it

answers different needs around you as well. Yeah, now let's

look at move on. Okay, the scriptures we can see, Okay,

it was his fifties. So David prevailed over the Philistine

with a sling and a stone and struck the Philistine

and killed him. But there was no sword in his hand,

in the hand of David. Then David ran and stood

over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it, okay,

and then he killed him. And then if we gone

to Versus fifty five, okay, says when Saul saw David

going out against the Philistine. He said to Abner, the

commander of the army, Abner, whose son is this youth?

And Abner said, as your soul leaves, oh, King, I

do not know. So the king said, inquire, whose son

is this young man? Then as David returned from the

slaughter of the Philistine, Abner took him and brought him

before the before Saul with the head of the Philistine.

And Saul said to him, whose son are you? Young men?

So David unswaerd I am the son of your servant Jessee. Yeah,

so David was the person. They didn't even recognize who

he was, you know, and and then later on they

found out, oh, this guy is actually Jesse's son him.

So we can see how God used someone who just

availed himself. Right, and drawing to my last point here,

what we can see is that revival takes faith, right.

Revival takes faith when we can choose to step forward

with the Lord, because there's only limited things that we

can do as humans, you know, we only have limited capability.

But when we partner with the Lord, there are many

things that he can actually enable us to do. Right.

In Isaiah forty one, then it says fear not, for

I am with you. Be not dismayed, For I am

your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you.

I'll uphold you with my righteous right hand. And that

was the baldness and the courage that David went forward with.

He would have had fear as a human right, but

he just went with it anyway because he knew the

gifting of the Lord in his life, and he had

a revival within him, right, and that's why he went

forward Romans eight twenty eight before. We know that all

things work together for good to those who love God,

to those who are called according to His purpose. So

the end of the day, everything works together for his good. Yeah,

everything would work out because when God is in it,

he's his better right, is his plend he's his will

to be done. And the moment you say God, let

your will to be done, he makes things happen. Right,

and all things work together for the good of those

who love him. Yeah, and as long as you are

a child of God, you are his son, you're his daughter,

everything would work out right. Everything will work out. Sometimes

may not be our way, but his way is always better, right,

because he knows what's best for each one. Of us

a man. Right, So if I can ask your church,

are you ready to step forward in faith? Yeah? Amen?

I heard it? Yeah here right, and the rest of it.

I hope you say that as well, because you're not

saying yes to me, You're saying yes to God. Right,

You're saying yes, Lord, I won revival first to start

within me. I want to just go all out to

do what you have called me to do. Amen? Right?

Can I invite extreme forward? Yeah? You know, David says

this scripture, he says in One Samuel seventeen forty five, right,

he says, David said to the first stine, you came

to me with a sword, with a spear, and with

a javelin. You know, they came with everything else. But

I came to you, David, Right, he came in the

name of the Lord of Hosts, the God of the

armies of Israel, whom you have defied. So David was

very clear from the start of who is as a

child of God. I am a child of God, and

I'm not coming by myself, but I'm coming with a

lot of hosts, right. And because of that, I can

actually say yes, Lord, I'm going to do this anyway. Yeah,

I can do this anyway. So even as we heard

the word of God today, you know, I just want

us to again, like I said at the start of

the message, let's reflect, where are we at in this

season of our lives? Have we caught the fire? Are

we revived? You know? Because if you're a revived person,

you will say, yes, Lord, I'm just going to put

you first. I'm going to do your will in whatever

capacity that God has called you to be. Right. Sometimes

it could just mean, you know, bring that revival to

your own families, right, If that's your capacity for this

season as a parent, you know you just want to

get your kids draw closer to the Lord. You know,

you want to have that family devotion that you've been

wanting to do it. Well, that's revival by itself, right,

And you can imagine what you're doing at home. This

is what the kids are going to bring to their schools. Right.

So revival can mean different for each one of us.

But the question is whether we are saying yes, Lord

right and not allowing life circumstances or situations to just

we push it away and say all another time. But

just say yes wherever you are in this season, if

it could just be the one thing that you're doing.

Let's do that anyway, and God knows how to sharpen

the skill that you have or enlarge your capacity to

do more for him as well.
