  1. You're listening to a message to go from acts church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your day.

  3. And so today we're going to go into another part

  4. of you know, the mind itself, which is the power

  5. and the protection of humility, yeah, or humbleness.

  6. Yeah.

  7. Why is this so important in our Christian faith? Especially

  8. when we grow deeper longer in the faith. Humility is

  9. very important, right, And if you go back to some

  10. of the stories that we read in the Bible, some

  11. of our disciples or even people who have been serving

  12. the lot can fall so easily when we don't have humility, right,

  13. or when we think that we know everything and we

  14. forget that we need to submit and call upon God's name. Yeah,

  15. you know, humility is a spiritual stronghold that protects believers,

  16. disarms the enemy, and positions us to receive God's grace.

  17. Right.

  18. And sometimes if we don't realize certain things about our

  19. our character or the way we respond to things in

  20. our lives, to be actually trying to make room for

  21. the enemy to use that for example, anger, right, sometimes

  22. we were so upset and angry. Well, sometimes anger itself

  23. could be used, you know, and the enemy tries to

  24. you know, you know, try, it makes you feel even.

  25. Bad like you are.

  26. You know, you can't get better, you know, And that's

  27. how we use us to actually influence us even more. Yeah,

  28. So that's why humility is very important. Just look at

  29. a couple of scriptures, right, and then we'll bring you

  30. through some pointers to help us understand what is humility

  31. in this context. Right. In James chapter four, verses six

  32. to seven, it says, God receies the proud, but gives

  33. grace to the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God receies

  34. the devil, and he will flee from you. So James

  35. here reminds us very clearly that God receives the proud, right,

  36. but he gives grace to the humble, And we are

  37. called to submit to God. And then we have in

  38. Hebrews chapter four versus sixteen, Okay, let us come, that is, therefore,

  39. come boldly unto the throne of grace again the heart

  40. of submission, the poulture that we have to come before

  41. the Lord.

  42. Right.

  43. And then we have in the Book of Isaiah right

  44. Isaiah sixty four versus six it says, all our righteousness

  45. are as filthy recks, not a very nice thing to

  46. hear filthy res But that is how it is. No

  47. matter how much we do, we cannot be as equal

  48. with God, right, I mean, because we are sinners. We

  49. are created in such a way believe in a fallen world.

  50. So until and unless we come to a place of humbleness,

  51. right and to know and realize that it is only

  52. true God, we are not going to go anywhere, all right,

  53. or we're just gonna get stuck in our own bubble.

  54. Yeah. So the world sees humility as weakness.

  55. If you think about the world out there, right, you've

  56. got to be loud and well, nothing wrong with that,

  57. being confident and all. Yeah, But what Heaven sees is

  58. humility as strength. If you see a true leader, it's

  59. a person who can actually do great things, lead a team,

  60. but at the same time humble enough to admit the mistakes, right,

  61. humble enough to say, oh, there are things that I

  62. actually don't know that I need to entrust and work

  63. with others. That's a true leader, right. If you think

  64. about the people in your life, beat in the marketplace,

  65. be in the church, anywhere, a leader is someone who

  66. can be humble enough to say, wow, there's a lot

  67. more I don't know right, And in the context of

  68. our faith, it is saying God.

  69. I cannot do this with you.

  70. You may have given me so many talents, You've given

  71. me so many abilities, Thank you for that, but I

  72. still cannot do all of this if it's without your grace.

  73. Right.

  74. And if God wants to put a stop on some things,

  75. he can, right, but he still allows us to do

  76. it because.

  77. Of His anointing in our lives.

  78. And the thing that we need to understand is that,

  79. you know, the Satan fears humility. Why because when we

  80. are humble, we are living a life.

  81. Of surrender to God.

  82. Right, Because you are down on your knees, you're poistures

  83. saying God, I just need you.

  84. Right.

  85. But the moment we do the other, the opposite of it.

  86. It's as though we are better, right. And that is

  87. when the enemy can make room to kind of make

  88. us think that, Okay, I got this person. I can

  89. you know because they hear or she thinks bigger of them.

  90. Right.

  91. And so that's why humility is so powerful in our

  92. Christian walk. Let's look at first Peter chapter five versus

  93. six says here in fact, this whole chapter First Peter

  94. chapter five talks about the shepherd and the flock.

  95. Yeah. And then if you look at.

  96. Versus six versus six, right, he says, therefore, humble yourselves

  97. under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt

  98. you in due time, casting all your care upon him,

  99. for he cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant, because

  100. your adversary, the devil, walks about like a roaring lion,

  101. seeking who he may DeVore Versus nine. Resist him steadfast

  102. in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced

  103. by your brotherhood in the world.

  104. Yeah.

  105. So the good God reminds us here to be sober,

  106. to resist, you know, to be you know, like what

  107. Jesus reminds us to be, you know, to be cunning

  108. like a serpent. Right, but at the same time gentle

  109. as a deaf.

  110. Right.

  111. So we've got to be very watchful. Then we look

  112. at James chapter four, right, James chapter four Versus seven.

  113. It says, Yeah, therefore, submit to God, resies the devil,

  114. and he will flee from you. Draw near to God,

  115. and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands,

  116. you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double minded lemon

  117. and mourn and weep let your laughter be turned to

  118. mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the

  119. side of the Lord, and he will lift you up.

  120. So again the scripture reminds us about submission, humbleness, right,

  121. to come before the Lord and say, God, let your

  122. will alone to be done in our lives.

  123. Yeah.

  124. So from this we can see that the enemy doesn't

  125. like humbleness, right.

  126. It doesn't like you being.

  127. You know, be bobbing down on your knees and saying God,

  128. I need you.

  129. Right, He's terrified in it.

  130. And we need to understand that humility is not about

  131. having low self esteem, right, It's not about that, but

  132. it is about being honest. It's living a surrendered life

  133. before God.

  134. Right.

  135. Until and unless we catch that, it's going to be

  136. hard for us is to go deeper. Yeah, so humility,

  137. So let's try to just go through a couple of

  138. pointers here. And as we go through this, I just

  139. want to encourage you to think about your own lives

  140. as well. Right, which part of your lives that you

  141. may feel okay, yes, good, I need you to help

  142. me in this area, right, and a good reflection for us.

  143. So the first thing is that many battles.

  144. Are more flesh than the devil.

  145. Yeah.

  146. Sometimes as Christians with everything, they'll say, oh, is the

  147. enemy's work? Is the enemy's work?

  148. Right?

  149. Yes, sometimes it does put things, you know, where we

  150. go through temptation. But sometimes it's just us as humans

  151. where we just need to learn how to say no right,

  152. or choose to be disciplined right, or choose to you know,

  153. become a better person right, because it's the flesh. Yeah,

  154. not every struggle is directly demonic. Many problems come from

  155. our flesh nature. Yeah. And sometimes pride blinds us from

  156. seeing our own weakness. Self righteousness prevents honest repentance because

  157. I'm too good, right, and so I don't want to

  158. I don't need to repent.

  159. Yeah, I hope you don't fall into that.

  160. And the enemy often gains access through unsubmitted areas of

  161. our lives. Yeah, unsubmitted areas other parts in our lives

  162. where you're not submitting to the Lord. Yet we're saying God, yes,

  163. I have everything else submitted to you, but there's some

  164. parts in my life I still want to have my

  165. say it should be my way.

  166. Well, God is not going to force you. He gives

  167. us a free will to leave the way.

  168. You know, we want to, but at a certain point

  169. of time, I mean, how much can we do it

  170. in our own flesh?

  171. Right?

  172. Many of our battles are merely the consequences of our

  173. own actions, right, our own actions. And we may think

  174. that we are fighting with something, but hey, but usually

  175. think about it. Actually, I'm fighting with myself, my anger issues,

  176. my frustration, my unforgiveness. And then I wonder why am

  177. I still not happy? Well, because I have not surrendered

  178. it yet. Yeah, let's just watch this video here. Okay,

  179. it's about this bird, the cardinal bird, right, And it

  180. was interesting that I learned during during the summer season,

  181. especially when they are trying to actually take care of

  182. their territory. They're afraid of the other male birds who

  183. will come and you know, take over their their girlfriends

  184. or their wives. Right. So interesting enough that there's always

  185. a place that I was reading in a document I

  186. was watching in a documentary where they realized a lot

  187. of their cars had scratches in their sight real mirrors.

  188. Right then they realized it's actually the working of these birds. Okay,

  189. let's just watch this video. So that is what these

  190. birds do, right, They go around to cars because they're

  191. flying around and when they see their reflection in the mirror,

  192. they think that there's another bird in front, and they're

  193. trying to fight, not realizing that they're actually fighting with

  194. their own Yeah, and interesting can't I can't help. But

  195. the thing about sometimes it's just how we respond to

  196. things as well.

  197. Right.

  198. We tend to look at a certain situation our life

  199. and we wonder, hey, why is it like this? And

  200. we keep fighting, We keep you know, hitting the walls, right,

  201. thinking why where is this breakthrough going to happen? But

  202. sometimes it's just maybe us not being able to submit yet, right,

  203. there's something within us that needs to work. We need

  204. that humility poisture once again to be able to realize,

  205. oh I think I've not let go enough. Yeah, or

  206. maybe I'm not surrendered enough to welcome God into this

  207. picture and say God, you work your way. Yeah, so

  208. we can be like those birds. Sometimes we may think

  209. that you are fighting another enemy, but maybe the enemy

  210. is just us, right, Like what they say, sometimes sometimes

  211. you are your biggest enemy to why you don't pursue

  212. certain things or why don't you why you don't go

  213. hit and do a chief certain things? Because you know,

  214. you tend to feel like, oh, I can't, but everyone

  215. else around you may say no, you can do it, right,

  216. but we just keep saying no because we're just not

  217. you know, we're not brave enough. Yeah. It could be

  218. our anger, it could be our impatience or even sometimes insecurity, right,

  219. or defensiveness we just don't want to admit and we

  220. just get so defensive or even being stubborn. Yeah, that

  221. becomes the real battle ground.

  222. Right.

  223. So a question for me all of us today to

  224. ask is are the things that are oppressing us today?

  225. Is the ours of what we planted yesterday? Yeah?

  226. Are the things that are oppressing us today?

  227. When I say oppressed, meaning things that are just not

  228. allowing us to be set free right to enjoy the

  229. abundance of what God has given us, the blessings his promises.

  230. You know, he's always said, right, He's given us life

  231. to an abundance.

  232. Jesus has overcame the world for us. Right, That's what

  233. we know and we learn. Or is it that.

  234. Sometimes you know, you may feel still stuck in chains

  235. because a believer is not called to live that way, right,

  236. But could it be it's because of some pasts that

  237. we are planted in our lives, they are not uprooted yet.

  238. That is causing us to feel that way today. Yeah,

  239. think about it. You know your own lives and the

  240. seasons that you're in. Right, you can plant beautiful flowers

  241. on the ground, but if you don't take out the

  242. roots right of what's choking those flowers to grow, nothing

  243. is going to grow.

  244. Yeah.

  245. So what is it that we need to uproot in

  246. order for newness to grow? New blooming flowers to grow, right,

  247. so that others can see the fruits that you're bearing? Yeah,

  248. what is it? Just think about it? Yeah, our own

  249. reflection now.

  250. Number two. Humility begins with an honest agreement before God.

  251. That's how it works. Yeah, an honest agreement before God.

  252. Humility refuses to defend self. There's no need for us

  253. to defend We must stop rationalizing sin. Yeah. What the

  254. world of God tells us is that, right? We can't

  255. just try to say, oh, maybe it's something else. The

  256. moment we start doing things like that, then we are

  257. trying to take charge of what God is telling us. Right,

  258. We're trying to take charge or what you know God is?

  259. What is God teaching us to leave the way we should, right,

  260. So stop rationalizing sin. God is not shocked by our weakness,

  261. So there's no need for us to be afraid to

  262. come to him just as we are. Yeah, come to him,

  263. just as you don't have to filter your words. You

  264. don't have to be afraid of what you need to

  265. tell him because he knew it before. Oh you even

  266. exist in this world, right, God knows you inside out,

  267. so he's not shocked. In fact, Jesus already provided grace

  268. through the cross.

  269. Right. So every time you go through a roadblock and

  270. you feel.

  271. Like I just can't you know, I can't forgive, if

  272. I can't seem to move on, I can't enjoy the

  273. abundance of God that he has given me. Think about

  274. the gray of the cross, right, think about what he

  275. did for us on the calvalry, because his love can

  276. never be measured or be equal to anything else. Yeah,

  277. that one thing alone. I mean some of you where

  278. your cross is your necklace or you have it on

  279. your homes, right, I hope it's not just a decoration there,

  280. but it's a powerful reminder that it's only Jesus who

  281. did that for us. Yeah, And if at.

  282. All you choose to even walk away from the faith.

  283. If you look at that, I hope you always come

  284. back and say, no, you know what, I need Jesus

  285. in my life. Yeah, I need Jesus because the Cross

  286. is so important. In fact, that's the the only thing

  287. or the main thing that makes us so different from

  288. any other religion in which God actually went on the cross, right,

  289. brute was beaten or shed for our sins and then

  290. resurrected again. Such a beautiful hope that we all have

  291. to hold on to. Yeah, that is our Jesus.

  292. Yeah, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ is a perfect shelter

  293. of grace.

  294. Remember, think of it as a shelter. He gives us

  295. that shelter, enabling us to look honestly at our needs. Yeah.

  296. So maybe it's a good time for us to check

  297. in and ask ourselves, you know what are those areas

  298. God that you want to work in me? That I

  299. need to submit, that I need to surrender. That can

  300. come in a full place of humbleness, a full place

  301. of surrender, right, because it's only an open door that

  302. God can work if your doors are closed. Not wanting

  303. to admit that you need God, but nothing can happen, right,

  304. And of course, this does not mean that we are

  305. agreeing agreeing with Satan's condemnation, but it just means we

  306. are honestly acknowledging that.

  307. We are wrong.

  308. Yeah.

  309. Yeah, we're all work in progress, right, And when you

  310. are in work or progress and you admit that and

  311. you're working on it at the same time, don't fall

  312. for the enemy's condemnation because that is when he tries

  313. to also condemn you and say, hey, I don't think

  314. you can do this right, And but you know that

  315. our God doesn't condemn us. He's there to lift us up.

  316. He's there to teach us, right even to trials. It's

  317. there to grow us, but not to condemn. Yeah, so

  318. you've got to be very discerning, and that is why

  319. discernment is such an important you know, I would say

  320. maybe a gifting or you know, a skill even right

  321. to know when you move with the spirit that Okay,

  322. what I'm feeling is it's not from God, it's from

  323. the enemy. Right, I'm call to leave well freely. God

  324. loves me. I'm created in his image, So don't go

  325. through that self condemnation that the enemy tries to bring

  326. to us.

  327. Yeah. So, if you're accused of impatience.

  328. Don't try to defend yourself, admit the weakness right, run

  329. towards christ righteousness. And sometimes these are things that our

  330. close people, friends, family might tell you, Hey, I think

  331. you're too impatient. Well, maybe take a step back and say, okay,

  332. I don't want to fight about this, but am I

  333. do I make people feel that way? Because sometimes we

  334. don't realize how we make others feel. Right. We think

  335. we are doing it right, but maybe others don't feel

  336. that way. You know, someone says, hey, you're getting angry

  337. so fast. Well, instead of saying no, I don't take

  338. a step back and think, right, actually, am I? Maybe

  339. I'm going through a certain season that I'm just getting

  340. all upset all the time. So let's admit that and

  341. get better. Yeah, because the moment we don't admit it

  342. becomes a weakness and then we drown on it. Yeah,

  343. and that's when the enemy uses it to condemn us.

  344. But we must just choose to say, okay, you know

  345. what is the betterment for myself, for my growth and

  346. for others around me. So it's a win win thing, right.

  347. Why do I want to hold on and be defensive

  348. about it? You're not getting anywhere. Yeah, So take time

  349. to reflect on that, because humility sounds like law. You

  350. are right, Lord, I need your grace God. I cannot

  351. change myself without you.

  352. That is humility.

  353. See, if you can come into that posture of surrender

  354. and tell all of this, then you see a change

  355. happening within you. He may open your eyes to things

  356. that you may have missed out. You know, maybe past

  357. experiences that you've told something to someone, God reveals it

  358. to you and say, hey, can you go and say

  359. sorry to that brother or that sister? Right, and you'll

  360. never know what changes, you know. I've known of people

  361. that sometimes holds on to unforgiveness for years, right, for years,

  362. and and when they talk about it, it's like it

  363. happened just yesterday. And that's because it's just rooted in them.

  364. It's not just any longer a story that you're telling,

  365. but it's deep within them. It's a herd, right. It

  366. it turns up being bitter, because something that's within you

  367. for such a long time can just grow even bitter. Yeah,

  368. and then you get so frustrated and sometimes you don't

  369. even want to trust anyone around you because of what

  370. you have experience. So it's very dangerous if we allow

  371. that to take root in our lives. Yeah, take time

  372. to think about what are those roots that are in

  373. your life right now? I mean, we're all, if it

  374. can measure, we're all trees planted, right, and if you're

  375. bearing fruits our roots strong enough the foundation on the

  376. word of God, on his promises, on his truth about us, right,

  377. not your truth, but God's truth?

  378. Right?

  379. Are we planted in those deep roots because that is

  380. the kind of fruits that's going to bear. Yeah, think

  381. about it. What kind of poisture are we coming before

  382. the Lord? Even when you come into church, right, what

  383. kind of spirit are we bringing in? What kind of

  384. poisture are we worshiping God? Sometimes we can get so

  385. distracted with so many things in our lives, but the

  386. very reason why we come in is just to say God,

  387. feel me, our hearts surrendered, and have your way a lot. Yeah,

  388. So think about that. Yeah, humility starts with an honest

  389. agreement before God.

  390. Amen. Right now.

  391. The next thing is that in the context of humility,

  392. is that Jesus is our righteousness. Yeah, Jesus is a

  393. righteous victory. Is not based on our perfection, yeah, but

  394. on Christ the moment we think that, yes, I think

  395. I got it all, myselved enough, I know the Bible enough.

  396. Then there's something wrong, I think because we are all

  397. in this journey of learning and discovering a.

  398. Lot of faith.

  399. You could be a twenty year old Christian, you could

  400. be a five year old Christian. There's just so much

  401. to learn about the lot. And that's just how interesting

  402. it is to be a Christian, right, Because you come

  403. to a point you realize that, hey, I've known God

  404. for so many years and I still read and I

  405. read this scripture. It still speaks to me in a

  406. whole different way. It takes me into a deeper level. Yeah.

  407. But if at this point in your faith you are thinking, actually,

  408. I feel very dry. My faith feels dry. I feel

  409. like it's the same old, same old I When I

  410. open the Bible, nothing is exciting, then maybe it's time

  411. to talk to someone about it. Off us, talk to

  412. God about it, right, because our faith is meant to

  413. be exciting. When I say exciting, not always hahaha laughing. Right,

  414. but it's also when you are able to be real

  415. with your faith, right, you can ask honest questions, you

  416. can talk about it, right, You can just go deeper.

  417. That is what our Christian faith is supposed to be.

  418. It's not just a religion right where you just do

  419. it on a Sunday Monday, Okay, back to my own life.

  420. That is not what Christian fate is meant to be.

  421. It's a continuous thing. In fact, what you do on

  422. a Monday, it's a Saturday, is even more important when

  423. you don't have fellow Christians who are looking at you,

  424. and yet you're still shining bright for Jesus. Yeah, that

  425. is the true testing of our faith. Yep, you know,

  426. Satan accuses, where whereas Jesus justifies, and our confidence is

  427. not in our goodness but in Christ finished to work.

  428. I think that's the reminder that we need to keep

  429. reminding ourselves that Christ has done it all, is a

  430. finished work, though the world that we're living in seems

  431. to be like, oh, there's still so much more to achieve.

  432. You know, people are talking so much right about sustainability,

  433. about environment, but you know what, all these things, how

  434. much can we do as a human right, We've got

  435. to come back to the realization that God is actually

  436. done in it all for us, and as believers, we

  437. are called to do what we need to do to

  438. reach out to many more, to bring more to Christ,

  439. and at the same time to prepare ourselves for the

  440. coming of Christ. Yeah, we've got to remember that truth.

  441. This is the difference. Yeah, when we talk about pride

  442. and humility, Pride depends ourself, whereas humility is about depending

  443. on Christ.

  444. Pride hides weaknesses.

  445. We don't want to talk about it, we don't want

  446. to bring it to God, whereas humility confesses the weakness.

  447. We're not afraid to say, God, I this is what

  448. I am. You know, and I just need you. Pride

  449. it relies on self righteousness, whereas humility relies on grace.

  450. Pride produces condemnation, whereas humility produces freedom.

  451. Right. Freedom.

  452. So if you ever feel in your life that you're

  453. not feeling free, then I think it's time to pray

  454. about it. Maybe if you don't know how to pray

  455. about it, then speak to one of us. That's why

  456. we are here as a church.

  457. Right.

  458. The moment you accept Jesus as your personal lot and savior,

  459. the moment you say yes, God, I want you, is

  460. giving us a life of freedom.

  461. Yeah. Would that mean there's no problems? Of course?

  462. There are problems and trials that we go through, but

  463. we still know that there's a hope that we can

  464. hold on to by our Lord Jesus. Yeah, when the

  465. enemy accuses you agree where conviction is true, repent quickly

  466. and stand in the grace of God. Yeah, it's very

  467. important that we stand in the grace of God. Christ

  468. himself is our righteousness. Never forget that we are not

  469. meant to leave this life by ourselves, but we are

  470. meant to call upon the name of God every other day. Yeah,

  471. every other day. Now, the next thing, what does humility

  472. do to us? Humility protects relationships. Yeah, humility protects relationships.

  473. And why do I say relationships are important? Because we

  474. live our lives revolving around relationships. Right, be parent and

  475. child beat, you know, a husband and wife beat friends,

  476. be in the church, community, siblings. Relationship plays a very

  477. big part. So relationships can either bring us closer to

  478. the lot or the enemy can also use relationships to

  479. bring us far away if you think about it. Yeah,

  480. if there's a disagreement between husband and wife, it disrupts

  481. the entire institution of a family, right, Or if there's

  482. a disagreement within a church, then there's no unity within

  483. the church, right, and that is one humility plays a

  484. very big part. If you know a husband accused, it's

  485. been accused of being insensitive, then you know what happens

  486. from that, Right. So instead of saying, yeah, no I

  487. am in I am sensitive, why don't sometimes it doesn't?

  488. You know, it doesn't.

  489. I mean, how difficult would be to just say, well, okay,

  490. let me think about it. It was there a time

  491. that I made someone feel insensitive, Right, So sometimes we

  492. made instead of fighting about it, taking the pinch of

  493. salt and they say, okay, let's talk about it.

  494. How can we better improve this? Right?

  495. Because you know, marriage, family, relationships, all this are in

  496. the plan of God. But the enemy sometimes can interfere

  497. because of emotions, because of lacking of humility, and disrupt

  498. these kind of institutions as well. Yeah, that's why we

  499. just shouldn't give too much room for being defensive. Yeah,

  500. sometimes it's just being humble and saying, okay, you know what,

  501. let's talk about it. And that's why we have leaders

  502. in the church who can journey with you as well. Yeah,

  503. So humbling ourselves listening. I think there's the art that

  504. some of us might need to learn even more to

  505. pray together.

  506. Yeah.

  507. The strength of humility is that it builds a spiritual

  508. defense around your soul, around your soul, so it's like

  509. a defense. So if you have humbleness, if you have

  510. humility around you, you're not giving room to the enemy

  511. to attack you because you're humble enough to say I

  512. need God. I'm not doing this by my old strength. Yeah.

  513. You know, that is why we encourage families to have

  514. your prayer time, to get that at home, you know,

  515. with your kids, parents, because that's such a very powerful

  516. thing because it keeps us back to what's important. You know,

  517. we come from busy schedules and all, but again, let's

  518. come together, just say a prayer. Yeah, pray and the

  519. families are very important. So humility relationship means listening before reacting. Yeah,

  520. listen first before no, No, I'm the right one. It

  521. doesn't get anywhere. People get upset and then that nothing

  522. is resolved. Yeah, admitting fall quickly. It's okay to say sorry.

  523. Sometimes it's okay to apologize. Refusing pride driven arguments. Right,

  524. pride driven arguments meaning I am better.

  525. You're not choosing peace over being right.

  526. Yeah, choosing peace or being right you think about it

  527. isn't worth it to have certain you know, never ending

  528. arguments or being defensive about certain things. I mean, I'm

  529. grateful that I grew up in a family where my

  530. parents so very quick to say sorry. I mean I've

  531. seen parents having quarrels, you know, arguments and all, but

  532. before the night ends, I always see my father say oh,

  533. I'm sorry, or my mom you know.

  534. So it's something that me and sister picked up.

  535. So even till today, if we have a quarrel among

  536. sisters before the night ends, you'll knock each other's door

  537. and say, okay, I'm.

  538. Sorry, or we're like still so upset.

  539. One of us will buy something and then put on

  540. the table and just say I'm sorry.

  541. You have a good day.

  542. Yeah, even though it sounds like a very small action,

  543. you know how powerful it is because it's either you

  544. do that or you do and it ruins or builds

  545. a relationship. Yeah, same thing in marriage, I'm sure.

  546. Yeah, you can.

  547. Either draw closer or grow further. So it takes the

  548. humility and when you do that, you will feel like, hey,

  549. actually it's not too bad just being saying sorry, because

  550. it takes you to be humble, right, remove your ego,

  551. remove your pride, and say, okay, you know what, I'll

  552. just be the bigger person to do this. And when

  553. you do it, the next person softens down and say, okay,

  554. I will do it also. So it's a win win thing.

  555. You can leave on your life peacefully. You don't think

  556. about it, your mind is not disrupted. You can think

  557. about other better things. Right, and that is when you

  558. are putting a defense around you, because I'm not giving

  559. room for the enemy to break us apart even more,

  560. or to allow my anger to bring us further away

  561. from each other. Yeah, so be quick to say sorry

  562. sometimes I think sometimes that that the main the simplest

  563. thing that works. Yeah, instead of just harboring hatred into

  564. our hearts, we good church. Yeah, so let's let's just

  565. catch that heart of Okay, I'm sorry, I apologize, I forgive.

  566. That is what God wants us to do. Be the

  567. bigger person. Yeah, bigger, bigger person.

  568. Now. The next thing is that humility terrifies the enemy.

  569. Yeah, you terrifies the enemy the devil fears of surrendered

  570. people surrendered, meaning you go down on your knees, you

  571. raise your hands, you say God, I need you, meaning

  572. there's no room for the enemy to actually try to

  573. enter in and cause trouble. Yeah, that's why he doesn't

  574. like it, because humility removes Satan's excess points to pride,

  575. self righteousness, defensiveness, rebellion. Yeah, because humility is the surrender

  576. of the soul to the Lord. And the devil is

  577. terrified of Jesus Christ. I mean, the enemy himself knows

  578. that his time is coming. Yeah, the scripture talks about it,

  579. and that is why he tries all that he can

  580. to mess up with the minds of believers. And that's

  581. why you and I have to be watchful. We have

  582. to take care save God of our faith, save God

  583. of our church. Right, the unity of the church is

  584. so important. We have to do our part to take

  585. care of it. So the enemy trembles when believers kneel, repent, surrender, forgive,

  586. and depend fully on rice.

  587. Yeah.

  588. So if we can do all of this, he is terrified, right,

  589. he is terrified. We just got to do it, because

  590. that's how God, Jesus himself has thought.

  591. Us to leave. He lived a life like that.

  592. You know, if you wanted to, you can go all out,

  593. you know, correcting everyone that when he was walking here

  594. on earth. But no, he chose humbleness. He chose to

  595. submit to God. You know, he chose to walk on

  596. the word of God and not just his own knowledge, right,

  597. And I believe we can all learn from him as well.

  598. Amen.

  599. So it's just a couple of questions to just think

  600. about and ask yourself, you know what area of my

  601. life that I'm still defending and thinking that, no, this

  602. is what I am and God can enter in.

  603. Yeah, what is it?

  604. Am I fighting with the devil while ignoring my flesh?

  605. Sometimes you can put the blame so much on the

  606. enemy and not working on ourselves, working on our anger issueses,

  607. not working on our unforgiveness right, not working on the

  608. way we treat others, but to be kind.

  609. Right.

  610. So maybe we've got to work on all of this.

  611. And if I fully surrendered to God, Yeah, f I

  612. fully surrendered to God, because if we can bald it

  613. all down, it all goes back to humbleness means a

  614. life of surrender, right. And in church we have been

  615. talking about revival over the weeks, and we cannot truly

  616. fully experience revival, be in our personal lives or in

  617. church if we have not lived a life of surrender, right,

  618. because the church in the Book of Acts experience the

  619. church being added on and all that God worked on

  620. because it's surrendered and say, God, come have your way.

  621. Right, And so the things that we sometimes just.

  622. Need to sacrifice, let go off for God to come

  623. and feel us afresh. So I hope it's been a

  624. time of reflection for all of us church, right, because

  625. if we cannot catch something as simple as humbleness, well

  626. it does sound like simple, but being humble can not

  627. sometimes may not be the easiest if we don't learn

  628. how to, or we don't realize how important it is.

  629. Right.

  630. And that's why I just felt that as a church,

  631. you know, as individuals, as believers, it's important that we

  632. take charge of this because it all goes back to

  633. our minds, the battleground of our minds, and how we

  634. poisure ourselves, how we surrender, determines what's going to happen next, right,

  635. determines how God is going to work in us as well.

  636. Right.

  637. And as I mentioned, you know, we live in a

  638. time and age where you've got to be watchful as

  639. ever before. Right, take God of your faith, don't just

  640. rely on a Sunday sermon to build your faith.

  641. Sunday sermons are important. It grows you. Right.

  642. God uses people to speak to us. But what's important

  643. is your quiet time with the Lord, your reading of

  644. the Word, your effort in knowing the Bible. It all

  645. goes back to that, right, because at the end of

  646. the day, you and I are answerable to God.

  647. Right.

  648. The past is not going to answer for you. You

  649. are going to answer for yourself. So you've got to

  650. know your faith. You've got to know the kind of

  651. life that you're living because in closed doors only God

  652. sees your heart. Right, nothing else matters but your heart.

  653. We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more
